Fanciest meal Ive had in a while! Loved the bok choy (part of the salmon dish) and the chicken karaage.

With the price point being set so high and the availability of high quality ingredients one would think it would be an easy win well let me tell u lol To start I had the duck liver pate which was flavorless and the brioche that came with it was undercooked to the point the egg drop it was soaked in was dripping off into my hands saving grace was the compote but I dont know how one could mess up a compote For a main I went with the sable fish and u know what the meal its self was cooked properly I cant complain thier just found it a little pretentious to finish such a beautiful fish with fish flakes why not add flavour during the cooking process to the original protein the veg was good and the best part was the sauce but it was not worth the price point and was a waste of good fish I will say our server was amazing Martin was his name hopefully he is your server delightful respectful a diamond in the rough and this was rough.

If you are looking for an experience, be sure to request Chad as your bartender. Im sure theyre all great. But Chads knowledge of his art kept us thoroughly amazed and entertained.

First time trying this place out and must say I loved the drinks and service. One of the best group of bartenders! So creative, accommodating, and humble! Must ask for Matt, Jason and Magnus. Definitely will be back

A must to go for cocktails in victoria! Amazing happy hour especially for drinks, but especially love some of the non happy hour cocktails & their very extensive selection of whiskeys. Every server we ve had has been great & has given excellent recommendations & the service is excellent.

Hotel restaurants usually have a built in customer base and dont have to put in the effort. Normally they are subpar. Fathom is different. The food and service are excellent. The chicken karaage is the best Ive ever had. The scallops were very good. The seafood tagliatelle was not great, tbh. Id avoid. But generally, good food and great service (really great service). The bar is spot on.

My bridesmaids took me here for dinner and everything was absolutely delicious. This is easily my favourite seafood pasta, the sauce and ingredients are just so unique from other restaurants I have been to.

We had a wonderful time celebrating friend s birthday tonight. Our waiter Tristan was amazing! He is so kind and attentive! We love the lounge staff too helping us take photos as well as I believe was the floor manager, she also came and check in on us. Overall food was incredible! Highly recommend!

He went above and beyond to guide us through the vegetarian menu options, ensuring a delightful dining experience that catered to our preferences. The food was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was beautifully presented and flavourful, showcasing the restaurant s commitment to quality and creativity. The elegance of Fathom and the Hotel Grand Pacific is also worth mentioning. Situated just a short walk from the BC Parliament, we were treated to a breathtaking view of the building beautifully lit against the night sky. The soft pink and peach aurora and the rippling clouds created a magical backdrop for our evening. Plus, it s conveniently within easy walking distance from downtown Victoria, making it accessible for a lovely night out. We appreciated the free street parking after 4 PM, making our visit even more hassle-free. Every staff member we encountered was warm and engaging, contributing to a delightful atmosphere. Their social and chatty nature made us feel right at home. We re already looking forward to our next visit to try out their heated patio, which promises a spectacular view. If you re in Victoria, Fathom is a must-visit!

I was staying at the hotel and had breakfast 3 days in a row and had the exact same thing yet the first day I was charged $5 more than I did the second and third day!!! I went there for dinner one night! First the host told me there were no available tables when I can see there were several and offered to seat me at the patio in a rainy day! Although the patio is covered, it still open and the night was chilly so I declined and I said I had to go elsewhere so right away he said a table just opened! Not sure how he even knew that when he was with me the whole time and no one informed him! Nonetheless, I was seated! The restaurant was dark and my waitress took a long time chatting with the table next to me that it took her over 20 mins to take my order and I was tired and hungry! She was lovely though so I can overlook that! I had the wagyu burger and it was delicious! Highly recommend it! The fries that came with it were crispy from outside and tasty!

Ive booked in a couple larger corporate groups at Fathom and have been very impressed. The menu, service and the ambiance have all been elevated to create some unforgettable evenings! The attention to detail leading up to the dinner through to the thoughtful and attentive service during has made it stand out amongst the rest. If youre looking for a new place to try out make sure you give Fathom a try!

Loved this restaurant. It was quiet and the atmosphere was lovely. The server was excellent and the kitchen staff were so generous in dealing with our unusual dietary restrictions. Everything we ate was fabulous. Wine was also excellent and the cocktails were so interesting. Would love to eat here again.

We had a fantastic dinner on the terrace. The salmon and the swordfish are highly recommended, with a very interesting Korean touch . The local rosé was also harmonious. We went there again on the second evening

The Hotel Grand Pacifics restaurant is somehow fancy, but with a cozy vibe. The portions are generous for the type of restaurant. Youll find what you typically expect from this kind of place. It was not very crowded when we went. The service was excellent and the staff was able to help when necessary. I would recommend to pay a visit if youre close.

First time eating at this restaurant as well as a wagyu burger and my wife had scalop and beluga lentils and hollandaise, it was delicious. The staff were friendly, attentive, and accommodating. My wife and I had an amazing time.

Fantastic experience and excellent food. All the servers and staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We had excellent service from the Maitre D and sommelier in selecting a bottle of champagne.

My partner and I had the pleasure of dining at Fathom during their social hour. Our server, Ryan (if I recall correctly), was exceptionally attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that we had a delightful experience. We were seated on the patio, which provided a lovely ambiance with the beautiful weather. We decided to sample every dish on the social hour menu and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and presentation of each item. Despite the limited options, the majority of the dishes were delicious and well-crafted. The only dish I would not order again would be the beet hummus & crudites, as it was a heavy vegetable dish that was rather one-dimensional.We highly recommend the beef tartar, karaage, and salmon kushiyaki. The cocktail menu was equally impressive, with expertly crafted drinks such as the Paper Plane, Fools Gold, Yum Cha, Praying to Panoma, and Sangria. They have an extensive half-off drink menu, which we took advantage of. Please note that we ordered Fools Gold and Yum Cha off their normal drink menu, which was not half off. Overall, we had a wonderful time at Fathom and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a delightful social hour experience.

This place is so delicious!!! I got the classic Benny while I was staying at the hotel grand pacific, and it was so good that when we checked out, traveled up north and and then came down south to Victoria we HAD to swing by again it again. Both times we were served by Jerome and he was awesome and super sweet!

As locals, we heard incredible things about Fathom a few months back and wanted to try it out today. We went for brunch, it was dead there with one other table and about 4 serving staff on. The service was horrendous, super slow. We ordered a Caesar spicy and muddy, which took about 12-15 minutes to arrive to the table, upon arrival had to ask for worchestershire as there was none in it. This isn t a massive deal when a place is busy but when dead there s no excuse. We ordered the classic eggs Benny and just a regular scramble with a couple sides, the food must have been sitting under the heat lamp as there was a crust built on the hollandaise and the English muffin was burnt. The potatoes were super dried out, not made fresh and had clearly been sitting there. I had also asked for no peameal bacon and have regular bacon instead, I got peameal bacon and a side of bacon so I had to rebuild the eggs Benny. The food was super disappointing, seeing as though a few months ago we heard good things. If you want a good breakfast we don t recommend spending $80-100 here and go somewhere like spinnakers, jam, nourish or blue fox.

Had a lovely brunch here on the outside patio. The monte Cristo was delicious and hearty! My husband enjoyed the classic breakfast. We would return. Service was professsionl and kind.

They were able to accommodate a gluten free and dairy free meal but the menu options were so limited that I ended up with a salad. A previous review had said they made something off menu for them but that was not the case for us. The server was great, the atmosphere was nice. They accommodated children with a high chair, crayons and a kids menu that they could colour on. They also had a nice non-alcoholic cocktail menu. Dietary restrictions: Limited menu items for gluten free and dairy free Kid-friendliness: High chair, crayons, kids menu

Worst part unrelated to us. The server laughed at a customer that wasnt with us when asked about a mocktail. Laughed when explaining options also. This place is very unprofessional. At first when manager was there, we had good service. After the manager left for the night, we were ignored for over twenty minutes while the other server showed a customer who wasnt going to buy anything the bottles of a bunch of single malts he never drank . The other server did not attend until asked direct after almost thirty minutes. Full on ignored for thirty minutes to leave. Pathetic.

We stopped in here for their Social Hour special from 2 to 5pm. We had a lovely table in the outside patio that oveooked the Inner Harbour. We had wine, beer and the Prawn Tostada appy. Our server Corbin was excellent. We will be back to enjoy Fathom again!

Visited Victoria about 2.5 weeks ago and we stayed at the hotel grand pacific so had the chance to enjoy breakfast at Fathom. Fathom was one of the best restaurants we had the pleasure to dine at! The French toast and avocado toast were to die for! Probably the best Ive had of each! I loved the avocado toast so much I ordered it twice!! The customer service was on point as well.

This is a Resturant in a hotel. You would think you can go down to have breakfast in your hotel. Well not in this one. Unless you made reservations you can t get in. This is for mid week breakfast before 730am. That s the most ridiculous thing I ve ever heard of. It s either wait for 45 min for a chance on a table or go across the street for Starbucks. Well, I was much happier with an instant meal there instead and for half the price.

We had Saturday brunch today, our server Stephanie was awesome. The perfect balance of attentive and helpful but coming by to check on us at the perfect time, not every 30 seconds. Her menu advice was spot on and she was patient with our sons order requests. The food was perfect, delicious and light. Quick to the table. Lastly the renovations and menu change were a fantastic update. Thank you. Well be back.

Visited them for second time. My family was really enjoying everything till the moment our server (I guess his name was Mike) came back to us with the bill and cash we paid. Asked us if there was something lacking in his service, we replied that it was perfect, he said okay and went away rolling his eyes and making faces at us - Why ? - we didnt leave him a tip ! We were on a budget and my aunt was paying for all four of us. The rude attitude that server demonstrated was not expected ! It literally ruined everyones mood for the rest of trip. I left a 20$ bill at front desk for him - I hope the restuarant reflects on its servers behaviour and explain its servers that what all they do is part of their job and they are already getting paid for it !

We have dined there many times and noticed a decline in menu choices both for happy hour and full dinner and a decline in food quality. Yesterday the seafood chowder was poor: thickened with corn starch, very little seafood and not hot. The kind of dish one would eat at a pub. My husband is allergic to dairy and the chef did not have an alternative for a side dish to the fish. We have never encountered a situation when the chef is not willing to create something with olive oil instead of butter. Overall it was disappointing. I hope it improves but I will need to check the menu before returning Dietary restrictions: Do not accommodate dairy allergies Only ONE menu item was viable

Absolutely beautiful bistro by the water front. I had Chris as a waiter and he was very friendly and attentive, he also gave a great recommendation of the mushroom miso. Atmosphere was great, I sat outside as there are heated lamps. The food was spectacular, very tasty and more than enough to fill you. Id highly recommend it.

My husband and I had our dinner here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We are from Winnipeg and traveled to BC. We stayed at Hotel Grand Pacific and the restaurant there is Fathom. We really enjoyed the food. Everything we ordered is delicious. Our server, Martin (not sure if I remember it correctly), is very accommodating and truly made sure that we have a great time.

The steak is nice although it doesn t have that really nice crust. Their vanilla ice cream is also good. I like their Fathom Old Fashioned and Aloe Mi Amor. The ambiance is really great. Would definitely come back next time I visit Victoria.

The food was delicious and the service was top-notch! Everything about our Friday night dinner was perfect from start to finish, I cant tell you enough how fabulous Fathom!! The best, the couches we sat on while having dinner, it just added a touch of class to the environment!

This is my second time coming to this bar for a cocktail. Easily the coolest cocktails in Victoria. The servers are so knowledgeable about different cocktail options and making unique drinks. Plus they are very OK with educating if you have any questions. Absolutely delicious highly recommend. My spicy margarita was bomb.

Nice restaurant environment. Food is great. The entire crew was extremely pleasant and efficient. Im really amazed that their bathrooms are lovely and clean!

I had such a memorable dinnertime at Fathom with my friends. The restaurant is a part of the hotel and the staff are very professional and attentive all the time. Thanks to Kate and Christian who made our dinner so fun and enjoyable. We had beef tartar and chicken karaage for the appetizer, gnocchi and scallops for the main - all the dishes were so delicious and served in such a big portion! Highly recommendable for any occasions!

Our family including 18 month daughter went for Sunday brunch and the food and hospitality were both incredible! The staff was very accommodating and friendly, and all of our dishes for brunch were anmazing including the French toast, tiramisu pancakes, chorizo hash, and eggs Benedict!

First time here, my wife and I both had the steak. It has been a long time since I have tasted a steak done perfectly to my liking (blue rare) and the desserts are top tier! Will be back tomorrow for brunch!

Fathom Lounge located in the Hotel Grand Pacific is a great venue for after dinner relaxation & drinks. We stopped in on our way back to our hotel next door on the coldest night of the year. We arrived just as the DJ started spinning vinyl. The first song was a cover of an 80s tune done with a fusion beat which made us laugh. My companion ordered a Sazerac cocktail, a drink he hadnt tasted in 30+ years and it was to his liking. I asked the bartender for something hot and sweet and although is wasnt on the menu, he delivered a Peppermint Hot Chocolate, with a smile. It was delicious and warmed me up in short order. We enjoyed the tunes and the atmosphere for a couple of hours and after several enjoyable drinks, the one block walk back to our hotel seemed a lot less bone chilling. Next visit, well make time to have dinner in the restaurant.

Drinks and patio were beautiful! Very cozy out door area during the winter months. Gorgeous interior, beautifully designed. Unfortunately, the service was quite embarrassing. Very disappointing.

Great renovation resulting in an accessible lounge in terms of a comfortable and nicely played out space for an intimate couple conversation or casual friend group of 6. We went for happy hour and tried all the food items. The bombshell item for us was the karage chicken. We tried six different cocktails off the classic menu - all great.

Incredible Dine Around Victoria experience! It s been a week and we re still talking about our amazing early Valentine s Day dinner. Highly recommend if it s within your budget to splurge. We did the $55 Dine Around menus, the cheese bun appetizer, two delicious cocktails, and two beers.

Our server Matt was so attentive and knowledgeable! My boyfriend and I went and sat at the bar for date night and it was so lovely! The food and drinks were amazing and there was a DJ playing music. The atmosphere was giving Vancouver vibes which is rare to find here in Vic. We will definitely be back!

Went for the second last night of Dine Around. Restaurant was not very busy. Twenty minutes for drinks, 25 minutes before order taken. Two hours for a three course meal. All four people commented on the slow service The booth seating is way too low. We struggled to get up from the table. Decor is more fancy breakfast than high end dinner. The food itself was good

Weve been going to this restaurant for years as we enjoy staying at the hotel when we are in town. Weve typically had great service to go along with the great food, however, in our most recent visit we were disappointed in the front host. An older man who does not smile, seems almost annoyed at our presence. The first breakfast he lead us to our table with a scowl and not a word was said. The next day, he told us the wait would be 20-25 minutes when the restaurant was half empty saying they were all reserved for an hours time away. We get the feeling it was because we had two (very well behaved) children with us. He asked us if our 4&6 year olds needed high chairs so it was clear he is not around children often. This restaurant has a kids menu and colouring so we assumed they were welcome but after the last two experiences we are not sure if we will be back.

Here for brunch. Service was great. Food was great. Atmosphere was great. I had the ham and cheese omelet. Potatoes we perfect. Omelet was great. My wife had the classic. I tasted the bacon and sausage. But were very good. Thank you.

Beautiful ambiance and wonderful seafood. We dined here around 8PM and all the real candles and outdoor firepits were lit up, making for a warm and cosy scene all around us. (Real fuel candles, not those plastic fake flame candles, if you like authenticity) Probably the best and most interesting clam chowder Ive had in a while. Service was prompt and professional; an adult waiter, not a college kid. Highly recommend this place and I will return the next time Im in Victoria!

Such a pleasant restaurant. The atmosphere is so relaxing and beautiful, great for a intimate dinner. The food was also excellent. Everything was plated beautifully and tasted wonderful.

Went there for the last dine around night. Beef cheek and risotto were amazing, salad was very refreshing and light. Ill come back again for sure and most likely bring friends if not recommend it to others!

Enjoyed a nice meal here with some friends - we shared all the appetizers on the menu (except salad) as well as the scallops entree. Service was excellent, room is very cozy and a nice amount of space between tables - really lovely renovations. The food is interesting yet approachable and you can tell the chef has really taken the time to created an elevated menu. My only dislikes are personal preferences so I won t get into them, however a couple dishes were a little busy and some of the fried items could have come a little crispier. Overall a great night, will definitely be back to try more dishes & drinks. A much needed addition to Victoria s restaurant scene.

We went to the lounge last night and it was exceptional. The beef tartar was the highlight, but the bar service was amazing, with such great recommendations, for both our cocktails and Japanese Whisky! Thank you!

We had an awesome Christmas brunch buffet. Great price for the quality of the food we had. My favourite was the grilled octopus. The staff was super helpful and helped us with all our toddler accommodations. A lot of dessert options. And because they didnt have any dairy free dessert options, we got a few specially made dairy free treats from their kitchen. Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating for a dairy free diet. Kid-friendliness: Helpful staff with high chairs and plastic glasses for the little ones. They have family washrooms for diaper changes too. Wheelchair accessibility: The whole restaurant (and ground floor of the hotel) is accessible, including washrooms.

Had an amazing bday dinner here for my mom s 65th birthday. Our server Ryan was very attentive, friendly, and had a great sense of humour with all of my dad s jokes. Food was delicious as well and all 6 of us with different tastes enjoyed the menu. My favourite was the smoked beef tartare and the scallops I ordered as a main. I also ordered the special holiday margarita which had a unique spice to it that I really enjoyed! The sorbet we got for dessert was also a perfect final touch. Would definitely recommend and return.

I think my main problem with this place is that its priced like 20-25% higher than what you get. The quality of the ingredients were fine but the menu options and recipes are kinda trash. I had the steak, pretty sure the menu said smashed potatoes but they were just boiled served whole and unseasoned. Beats and broccolini were raw and just a weird taste profile. I was so hungry after :( We had the seafood spaghetti which was fine, tofu bowl was barely touched / was not expecting a soup, tuna was fine but nothing special If you literally dont care what you pay and are looking for seafood and the restaurants nearby are full, its fine

Elevated hotel food. Fried chicken dish is really good along with the chowder and tofu soup. Deserts were well made and balanced flavor. We sat at firepits in heated patio was nice. Cocktails was not great and wine list could do some work.

We had a pleasant stay at the Grand Pacific, making it convenient to pop downstairs for happy hour. Exploring the restaurant was a great decision the modern cozy ambiance, friendly reception, and Chads expertly crafted drinks made our experience memorable. Chads Negroni version is truly outstanding! We indulged in some delectable bites and look forward to dining here again on our next visit to town.

This is perhaps the best tasting restaurant in Victoria so far. The food in Fathom is amazing and the service is great here. We had the Chicken kaarage, Prawns, and Beef Tartar for appetizer, also has the sable fish and steak as the main course. Had the dessert- matcha cheesecake, which is also delicious. Everything tasted excellent, and was plated beautifully. Excellent quality dish, food are in good portions, and the servers and bartenders are great and welcoming. We felt very welcomed and relaxed in the restaurant. Food arrives promptly even when the restaurant was full. Drinks were also excellent. 10 out of 10 for this restaurant. We will come back and would recommend this restaurant to our friends.

Food is great. Service is amazing too!

Arguably the best all around upscale restaurant in Victoria! I took my daughter for a father-daughter night out. truely outstanding gastronomic experience: The setting is bright (natural light/skylights/big windows), newly renovated, organic (big decorative and ornamental plants), contemporary and lively. Fathom also has a beautiful heated (Fireplace and Fire tables) glassed-in patio. The drinks are premium and cheerful. The dishes are colourful, decorative and the portions are just right. Chef Samantha, Chef Amiel, Chef Lin (I specifically asked for their names), and their capable crew produce excellent dishes like the Ahi Tuna, Octopus, Beef TarTar (I had two!), Beet Humus were simply outstanding. And to top it all off, the service was superb! A note to the owner...your Fathom restaurant IS GOLDEN! Fathom is absolutely a destination for all who have Victoria in their plans. Im going back tomorrow to try their steak (or maybe another fish dish!) Cheers and BRAVO!!!! PS. Absolutely try the Beef Tar Tar! This restaurant will exceed your expectation, no secret that it certainly exceeded mine!

This is a truly beautiful space. I was lured to visit as they have a Winter wonderland advertised over Christmas for the beautiful patio and featured a fondue only available on the patio so I reserved there. Sadly, the weather was blustery so we were told the servers would not service that space so we were moved inside where the fondue was not available. They have a promising happy hour! We ordered the calamari which was large and quite moist. I suppose I like a crispy tentacle vs this style. There were lovely crispy kale bits with it that stole the show. Both would have benefited from fresh lemon. I ordered the signature cocktail which was a blueberry negroni that was extremely bitter, however my husbands old fashion was spot on and very tasty. I had checked the menu online before coming and we took advantage of the Happy hour Cocktail pitcher/$24 and ordered the sangria. It was very tasty and paired with the entree well. We each got the 10 oz steak, fingerling potatoes and veggies. I found it very strange we were given slightly serrated butter knives instead of steak knives. As ridiculous as it sounds it really took a long time to even cut the stems of the broccoli let alone the steak. The Demi was delightful. The dish was ok. Everything lacked seasoning, though, and the tables did not have salt or pepper. There was a small pinch of coarse salt offered on the plate. Quite underwhelming at $50/plate. We opted to go elsewhere for desert and got our bill. I noted the calamari and Sangria weren t representing the happy hour price so I asked for an adjustment. The calamari was reduced but I was told the sangria wasn t on special and only the Wild Sbagliato was considered part of the happy hour. I ve attached photos of the menu s as that was misleading as it didn t specify. When I asked the waiter about it he was dismissive. I feel this place has a lot of potential and perhaps we had an unfortunate series of events that let down our experience. This was meant to be a special night out together with our parents Christmas present and it fell flat. My husband actually said I wish I ordered a burger .

The food, cocktails and service at Fathom are top notch. One of the best dining experiences I ve had. I can t wait to go back!

Fathom is the new restaurant in the town, and it s just amazing. I got to experience and taste some delicious chicken karage and sablefish. I had an opportunity to meet the restaurant manager (Sushant); he is one very composed man with a good amount of knowledge of the food and beverage industry and has a fascinating perspective on leadership which is very interesting. We will revisit Fathom and encourage people to visit the restaurant as they have lovely food with some fascinating people

My partner and I were greeted by an incredibly hospitable Assistant Manager named Kate. She really made us feel welcomed and comfortable. It was such a special way to start our visit. Patrick was our server and he was very knowledgeable about the menu and very accommodating to our needs. The atmosphere was chic and we loved the newly renovated space. If you want drama, try the Beef Tartare. It was served in a terrarium bowl filled with smoke, really quite good. We shared the Burger which was divine! And the Milk Buns were out of this world! Highly recommend. Overall, wonderful experience. We WILL be coming back and with friends! One recommendation: More vegetarian/vegan options would be much appreciated! Vegetarian options: Would like to see more vegetarian/vegan options in the future :)

This newly renovated restaurant is bright, spacious and exudes class. The menu is creative and exciting, offering delicious items cooked and presented with passion and precision. I never usually order a starter in restaurants but the appies here are too good not to try! The servers are knowledgeable, kind and charismatic - true sophisticated and professional service. Highly recommend Fathom for brunch, dinner, or happy hour cocktails in the lounge! Dietary restrictions: The servers are very attentive in checking for food allergies or sensitivities. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair-accessible entrance.

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had, as a person who is Celiac and therefore requires a Gluten Free diet, in Victoria. Three of us went for breakfast, they call it brunch, and the lack of knowledge, understanding and flexibility was profound. The menu shows a $4 up charge for GF toast ( 2 sliced), they don t offer a GF potato choice, we can substitute sliced tomatoes , said the waitress. Tomatoes are not potatoes!! As an idea, as they have a kitchen, let s give customer service and pan fry a potato. Want sausage with your breakfast? Not if you re Celiac because they can t really say that they re GF. Imagine this minefield of lack of knowledge if you had to negotiate dinner!!

My friend was in town for a visit and we decided to try Fathom for brunch. Admittedly, I don t typically eat at hotel restaurants because I find the food is often lacklustre, however, I tried Fathom s dish at Culinaire and it was excellent, so I decided to check out the restaurant. I m so glad I did! The food was great and the service was top-notch. Our server Christian was fantastic. Very friendly and accommodating. He checked on us as necessary but also didn t rush us out. I really appreciated having time to visit with my friend and to relax and enjoy brunch. My friend has a dairy allergy. Christian talked through the menu with her, offered suggestions and ensured she received a dish that met her dietary restrictions. I ordered the Chicken Karage Benny. The chicken was crispy and well seasoned and the yuzu hollandaise offered a nice citrusy touch. My egg was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were crispy. Overall, this was some of the best service I ve had in Victoria. The food was at the level of some of the busier, more well known brunch spots in town AND you can make a reso, so you don t have to wait in line. Will definitely be back to check out happy hour and dinner!

My husband and I have discovered this place through dine around Victoria this year, and we took our whole family to restaurant for mother s day dinner this time. Food was delightful and atmosphere was comforting. The waiter was very professional and friendly. Their Arcadian salad with prawn and spicy tuna bites were absolutely 5 star starters and spaghetti vongole, steak and wagyu burger were really delicious, but scallop risotto was bit salty (Still good though). Overall, we had a great dinner and we will definitely be coming back.

We had a business lunch. I had the avocado toast and it was delicious. The Mexican beer was fantastic as well. The leader of the group couldnt make it until 1pm due to complex commute from Vancouver. We were not warned that the kitchen closed at 1pm. So up on her arrival she could not get a meal and she was starving. This shows little flexibility. Besides that the restaurant is good and I could imagine that the terrace is an amazing place to enjoy when it doesnt rain.

Excellent food !! We had the calamari and the sable fish as well as the scallops . Everything was cooked to perfection and the flavors were wonderful as well as the presentation. We also had a jug of the Aperol cocktail which was very good - and fun ! It was concocted just as we like it not too sweet . Service was excellent as well as the ambience . The new decor is very tasteful and comfortable. We will definitely be returning and exploring more of the menu ! Victoria should be proud of Fathom - they really have a good thing happening here !

My family and I were at Fathom on Mothers Day for their buffet and it didnt disappoint! Their selection was just enough to not overwhelm you and the food was delicious. Thank you to Roy and his team for making this Mothers Day a memorable one!

Amazing interior space, always great service, and fantastic food!

What an excellent find! We grabbed a table at 12:25pm on a Father s Day Sunday, needing to be back across the street at the ferry terminal by 1:30pm for immigration/customs, and the kind folks at Fathom did an excellent job. I got a Caesar beverage good and spicy and we got a chorizo and bacon hash, chicken sandwich, and a classic eggs Benedict. All were served with flavorful home fries, and they were all really delicious; the portions were generous and the hollandaise was on point. I particularly liked the great spice level of the hash. The decor was elegant and classy without being fussy. It was the perfect Father s Day brunch!

What a treat. Had originally planned a visit to another cafe but it was too long of a wait for us so we ended up here. What a special treat. Georgia, our waitress, was a gem. And the Tiramisu pancakes were delicious ( albeit rich). The Salmon Tartine was lovely. Would definitely go back again.

This is a beautiful, redone restaurant that I love going to for breakfast. Check out their tiramisu pancakes for indulgence or the chia pudding for something lighter. Oh, and they leave you with a whole carafe of coffee! The service is great. The reason it gets four stars is because of their happy hour which, alone, is maybe three stars. The food I had at happy hour wasnt great and even at the reduced prices seemed a bit overpriced. While the fried mac and cheese is good, its tiny. The chicken karage wasnt crispy and thus not right. The calamari, while tender, tasted a bit fishy. I wouldnt go back for that. So, breakfast yes, happy hour, probably not. Parking: Note that while you pay for parking, they will take two hours of time off your bill.

Eight of us came during happy hour and had dinner. Undoubtably one of the best places to eat in Victoria. Very nice creative food - fantastic chef! All aspects of this restaurant are excellent. We will definitely come back soon. I can t think of anything that can be improved.

Went there for Sunday brunch. I liked the food, ambiance and decoration as well as location. It took a long time for them to guide me to my reserved table ( about 5 minutes), other than that service was excellent.

My partner and I had a delightful dinner here tonight. While she had the Mahi Mahi, I enjoyed the Spaghetti alle Vongole. The seafood was cooked to perfection. My pasta was al dente and included clams, prawns, roe and squid ink pasta. The fresh ricotta added a creaminess to the sauce that blended well with the mild spices. The plates were well presented and the service by Ryan was a pleasure. Social and attentive. All in all, a great dining experience for our last night in Victoria. Well done!

Amazing location and deco. Happy hour wine was terrible and so was recommended cocktail. Waitress was lovey but all our drinks sucked unfortunately. You d think as a high end bar and lounge, they d have better options for happy hours.

I had brunch at Fathom in Victoria on July 21, 2023. Our server, Sunny, and the manager, Kate, were outstanding. They were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We started with the crispy chicken sandwich, which was perfectly cooked, crispy and juicy. The chicken was coated in a crispy batter and served on a brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, and aioli. The chicken karaage benedict was also delicious. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked and the chicken karaage was crispy and flavorful. The salmon and shrimp tartine was another great dish. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the shrimp were juicy and flavorful. The tartine was also topped with a delicious avocado spread. Overall, we had a wonderful brunch experience at Fathom. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was inviting. The patio at Fathom is one of the best in Victoria. It is located on the waterfront and offers stunning views of the harbor. We would definitely recommend Fathom to anyone looking for a great brunch spot in Victoria.

We had several meals with our large family group over here the Canada Day weekend. The crowds were unpredictable but every single time we were treated well. The renovations are amazing, we cant wait until the outdoor area is complete. The food was good every time, with improved portions but still an inventive menu. The team was flexible and understanding with any menu changes some of our family requested. Service by Donna and Martin over the weekend was fantastic. Thanks for contributing to a great vacation, all!

This is our first time at Fathom restaurant in the Hotel Grand Pacific and we are very impressed!! The moment we walked in we were welcomed by Sushant ( manager ) and he was very attentive to our questions and requests Our waitress Stephanie was excellent She was consciousness and very attentive to our needs and made our dinner together very special Our entrees were delicious!! I had Sablefish which was so delicious and melted in my mouth with so much flavor My husband had the New York steak and was very impressed with black garlic au jus sauce !!! Excellent entrees!! Wow. What an incredible meal! I had the spicy tuna bites to start followed by the scallop risotto. Hands down, one of the best meals I ve ever had. I will come back to Victoria just to enjoy these incredible dishes again.

I came here for brunch today and we order the chicken burger and the chicken Benny. The food was delicious. The chicken Benny combines sweet and spicy flavors which was very tasty. The service was quick and the outdoor patio was lovely. The restaurant is close to water and overlooks parts of downtown Victoria. I will definitely come back here again.

Food is great but definitely not traditional plain food. They have a lot of options and ingredients that are unusual. If you re a picky eater, not the place for you. If you re looking for something new, definitely THE place for you!

For my sister s birthday, our family went to Fathom for dinner. What a huge difference to the previous venue! The update is amazing! The atmosphere is bright and inviting and you have the option of sitting on the enclosed heated patio, in the main restaurant area, or the cozy lounge. Our group had some starters including the Milk Bun Rolls, Calamari on fried Brussel Sprouts, Mac and Cheese Sticks, and the Spicy Tuna Bites. Unfortunately the food was devoured before I arrived so no pics of the starters but everyone raves about how good everything was. For our entrees, the table had Scallops on a Spring Pea Risotto, the Sablefish with Prawn Odens, Gnocchi with Spring Peas, the Mahi Mahi with Sea Asparagus and Wild Rice, a NY Stiploin, and the Beef Tartare Smokebowl. The presentation and playing of the food was so tantalizing and the table was silent as everyone was engrossed in eating the incredible food! My Beef Tartare Smokebowl was quite the spectacle as it arrived at the table in a large glass bowl filled with smoke with the dish inside. The flavours from the smoke and the Beef Tartare along with the grilled bread was indescribable! I ll go back just for that dish alone! Overall an amazing experience and the service from our server was top notch as he took the time to answer questions and describe each dish in detail as it was served. His passion for what he does definitely adds to the experience! Highly recommend checking out Fathom!

Finally a place where you got space around you ! Not crammed tight to feel like you ate with random neighbours I thought my wife s 27$ burger was overpriced but its the best burgers she s ever paid for haha. I had Very good fish dish. Came here after our wedding and they were very understanding when there were coordinating issues that we had to push back our reservation time. The server was very friendly and attentive. The food was unique, fresh and delicious! It was my first time taking a sip of my friend s hazy IPA beer and falling in love with it so much that we called to ask the name of it.

Everything with the room and stay was excellent. Until the morning when we were met with racist service and discrimination from Wayne the host at the brunch restaurant. We went down 3 of us to have brunch. We were on the walkway ramp and were there waiting to be places and a Asian couple with 2 children came up the stairs. Instead of helping the next customer which would have been us. Wayne decided to assist the asian family. Which I was like it is what it is. He sat them then returned to seat us. Wayne Said I will have to check with the kitchen and went away for several minutes and than came back and said the kitchen is overwhelmed and we are going to have to wait about 15 min to seat you. I said seriously he said yes. We backed up on to the ramp and discussed the situation and if we had time to wait. Well as we were discussing this another family came up the stairs and Wayne took them to be seated and took them to the out side part. This did make me very upset I went to the desk to check out and asked to speak with a manager. The hotel manager came out and asked me to speak with the restaurant manager. I took her up to Wayne and explained how I felt this was discrimination and she said no it wasnt it was.just a mistake??? A mistake??? I tell you 15 min wait I sit the next family and the family before you directly??? How is this a mistake? As the more frustrated I got she started to just laugh at me and say this is not discrimination it was just a mistake. I explained how I would be sure to leave a review and let everyone know about my experience and she laughed so as she did this I decided to take her picture and that of Wayne she said I cant do that and snatched my phone out of my hand I snatched it back and said excuse her. She than continued to be nothing but rude. This establishment was so great until this experience and they should not be allowed to work in hospitality and what a poor example of leadership and management from your restaurant staff. Just thought you should know about this experience and how unfortunate it was.

I came here Late night meal after arriving in Victoria. Server made some great recommendations for food. He knew the menu well and described each dish well. Awesome hotel restaurant.

Great Food and amazing helpful staff

Pleasant service and outstanding food and presentation. Upon arrival it did took waiter sometime to notice me signaling him while standing at the at the hostess table. Afterwards almost the entire the dinning experience went on a smooth sail. We sat in the leather couch area arranged in booths style. The salad starter with yuzu vinaigrette is fabulous with appetizing colors to see and taste. But the plating of the dishes is what made me work. I m about 162cm which is slightly below average? Well when I sat on the couch I loose some height. So the problem is when the plating of a dish is about 2-3inches height while I m sitting low, both of my arms need to lift up for my elbows to be at same height as the rim of plate to eat. Squid ink pasta was fabulous! Although the pasta isn t linguine style theres so much colors and the portion is certainly filling. Plate height is again a bit troublesome. I will certainly mention it to the waiter on my next visit. Pistachio cheesecake is the perfect closure to the evening. The cake is divided into rectangular bite sizes with yogurt frosting on top. Love this light sweet and sour taste. And I forgot to mention to the waiter that I parked downstairs. A couple of parking dollars could come off my bill if I did, but no biggie. Will surly return! Wheelchair accessibility: Coming up or down from underground parking there re heavy doors to go through.

We went to the Fathom Lounge not the actual restaurant. Pretty much the same menu the lounge didn t have chicken strips like the restaurant menu did for example. We ordered chicken Kaarage, the cheese bun and the smoked smoked olives, it was all so good. We ordered two more orders of the cheese buns to our room the next night because they were so good. They were like caramelized onions and Gruyère cheese in a pull apart mini loaf with béchamel sauce to dip. Trust me order them. Service was good.

I had an awesome dining experience. Went in with a migraine and left with a smile on my face and a full belly. Lots of non alcoholic options and I had the Not Toddy. Cute name, and delicious. The wagyu burger was also delectable. Ryan said I should go with the fries as a side and I m glad I did. Such a great experience.

Much better than the place that was there before. Went at Christmas time and they had some lovely decor. Server was excellent. Food was ok but nothing special.

Disappointing.

Went there for a first date. The environment is very cute with the green couches. the food is very good as well, but we took our time with the starter, so our mains did sit in the kitchen a longer than they obviously anticipated, thus making them not super hot and fresh. The service was excellent by the way! In terms of drinks, mine was very light but still tasty enough. Def. not a 1-shot in there, likely far less considering the small glass and ice included in the G&T - as a lightweight who usually feels a single drink, I felt absolutely nothing after 2 drinks. They officially did not have Empress gin, because it is a competitor, which I found amusing. Lets talk pricing: Fathom is one of the most expensive restaurants in the area, which feels just a little odd. The Tartare at 30 dollars comes with a very cool smoke bowl presentation. Considering that, and the creative taste, it could be considered worth that experience. The Scallops for $41 dollars are 3 individual, small pieces with risotto - tasty and well presented. But $41!! The steak was a bit cold as well but was cooked to medium rare as requested and pricing was actually alright for that. Paying, Fathom is unfortunately one of the restaurants that put the 20% tip at the top of the choices, with lower options below that, increasing the likelihood that you may end up tipping more than you may intend to. However, As the service was excellent on our visit, 20% was absolutely justifiable. Overall, with tip, you will need to budget at least $100 per person. We shared 1 starter, had 2 mains and 3 drinks in total. If each has a starter and each 2 drinks across the dinner, it will likely be $120-130 a person. If you add a dessert, you will fast approach $150 per person. So yes, noticeably more than other establishments in the area that are in the same league. Lastly, the place is Wheelchair accessible and you should have no issues finding street parking in the area as well. Wheelchair accessibility: A big ramp to bring you up to the restaurant level - should be very easy to utilize. The restaurant has wide isles, so moving throughout the space should be easy as well.

Don t try to change or cancel your reservation without attitude We made a reservation for 4 on the patio to enjoy the fire tables, asked to expand our reservation to 6 people but understood they could only accommodate one additional guest even though in the past we ve eaten there with 6. I felt like I was being argued with as since they couldn t accommodate one extra guest for good reason I was cancelling the reservation. At the very end I was hung up on. As someone who works in customer service this was an unacceptable end to our conversation.

This place is a great experience. Particularly enjoyable was the in-house smoked octopus contained in the clam chowder. The wagyu burger may indeed contain wagyu (Japanese word for beef) but it is of course diluted down heavily with the usual breadcrumbs. Chicken breast was an enjoyable main. Calamari starter is served in a most interesting way, I wont spoil the surprise. The goat cheese needs one more cracker. I enjoyed this dinner the most out of 10 meals this Xmas period.

Nice ambience and friendly staff including a very knowledgeable bartender. The happy hour appies, goat cheese croquette and calamari are quite tasty. The beer and wine selection for happy hour are limited but of decent quality. Recommend the happy hour rotating cocktail as both interesting and good value for money...

There are so many wonderful places to eat here but unfortunately this is not one of them. The descriptions in the menu are beautiful but the execution is very disappointing. Most dishes had a very greasy taste with a real unpleasant aftertaste. We felt like the oil in the fryer needed to be changed and really just thought everything tasted like it came out of a fryer. Just generally very disappointing and had the added kick of paying top dollar

4.5 stars really. Staff was attentive and friendly. Food was delicious, well excuted, with a twist. Newly renovated portion of restaurant is beautiful (a portion till under renovation as of Sep). Yes, there may be better out there but I would also be very happy to come back (and likely will)!

The menu here was extremely streamlined! I appreciated that it had something for all tastes and every option was solid! We ordered the pitcher of sangria and it did not disappoint, highly recommended. I had the Buddha Bowl as well and it was super filling and had just the right ratios of all the ingredients. The outdoor seating was amazing and atmosphere was super laid back. My partner is normally skeptical of hotel restaurants, but he was happy I brought us here! Id like to come back here again for sure in the future!

Went there for dinner with my family. Absolutely beautiful location, live DJ and our server was awesome. They kindly accommodated a gluten and dairy free diet (off menu), which is not easy!

French fries: no flavour, no effort. Crisp: 2/5 Potato density: 2/5 Quantity: 3/5 Salt content: 3/5 Taste: 1/5 Avoid. Bonus: do NOT sit next to the DJ on patio. Your ears will bleed from the screech of low quality speakers

Came for happy hour after hot tub at the fitness center! Great wine, GREAT daily happy hour cocktail. Got the lamb meatballs, croquette and calamari. I Loved the calamari (not too bready, great unique sauces) and croquette (incredibly light goat cheese) - partner loved the lamb meatballs (very gamey). VERY happy.

Decent food. We just had breakfast here but it was decent taste
