950 Wharf St, Victoria, BC V8W 1T3, Canada
Laid-back pub offering a surf 'n' turf menu & other comfort grub, with cocktails & harbour views.
Tried the fish and chips—the portions were impressively large, though the flavor didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The service was a little slow, but the beautiful view made up for it, offering a peaceful spot to relax and take in the surroundings.
The environment was okay, they have a patio as well! Drinks were good, many varieties of wines. Food was okay only the calamari was straight lol maybe their way of making, but it was good. Pasta portion was more than enough and it gets busy. Fish and chips were great amount as well.
Had lunch by the floatplane dock at the flying otter grill. It’s fun to watch the planes taxi in and out, and you get the odd waft of exhaust as they idle away for takeoff; adds to the charm of the place. We are on a Sunday for all day Caesars and we split a two piece halibut fish and chips – lots for two people. The batter is light and crispy and the fish inside was a generous portion and super hot.
We googled best calamari and this place popped up. It’s hard to get reservations and the seats at the bar is limited. But you have a great view of the Harbour Air planes. Their daily specials are so good. It was a Thursday night so we ordered the steak and prawns dinner for $22.95. The mango dressing was divine. Shoutout to bartenders Olivia and Lydia. Liv and Lyd. Best meal we’ve had in Victoria.
Decent place, if eating isn’t your main goal. Nice location on the waterfront. My issues came with: 1) Why when we ordered 2 piece fish and chips did the 2nd piece come out 15 min late, and we sprung for the halibut (priciest out of the options) 2) Nowhere on the menu does it say there are bell peppers in the dish? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I distinctly see it saying “Fresh made pasta with mussels, clams, prawns, halibut, salmon in a white wine cream sauce, served with garlic toast.” If I known it had bell peppers, I could’ve and would’ve said something or orders something else. But it left a sour taste in my mouth, quite literally. Took down my whole experience. Some of the seafood in my pasta was overcooked. The fish (both halibut and salmon) left a gritty feeling in my mouth and the mussels and clams were chewy. The shrimp was kinda alright though. The “Alfredo” sauce was basically buttery water Wanted to say something to staff but we were passing through so didn’t have time. Gonna try somewhere else next time in Victoria Do not recommend
We visited the Flying otter grill and all I can say it was amazing! Amazing atmosphere, delicious food! The size of the dishes is huge. I tasted the paella and the seafood linguine and was fully satisfied. Definitely will go back to that place next time we’ll be in Victoria.
Interesting location near the harbor airport. Nice friendly staff. Nice music, not loud. We ordered seafood chowder, fish and chips (cod and halibut), hamburger. We had to wait some time so it looks like they really cooked it. Everything was fresh and delicious. Seafood chowder is mandatory to taste. Prices are affordable, we had a happy hour discount as well. Extremely recommend to visit.
Service is great. It was busy when we walked in on a Friday evening, but we got lucky to have found seats at the waterfront. It was loud. The food was nothing exceptional, but it also wasn’t bad. I definitely enjoyed the calamari, my husband didn’t like the fish and chips. He found the it was a bit overcooked. I definitely enjoyed having beer, though. They have great non-happy-hour deals on Fridays.
I paid $22 for an overcooked, lukewarm, factory-made burger patty pulled from the freezer and then absolutely smothered in mayonnaise, and topped with an ungodly amount of lettuce for some reason. Paid an extra $6 for poutine which featured large chunks of ice cold cheese curds served in the same bowl as (but not really mixed with) kinda-warm fries and gravy straight from a bag. Server never really checked in except to take the mostly uneaten food away without comment. At least we had a large table so she got her 18% automatically.
The interior of the restaurant is very atmospheric and warm, and you can see seaplanes outside. The food is of good quality.
Lovely atmosphere and very good fish and chips!
We were excited about fish and chips Friday . Walked down around 5:30pm nov. 29 only to find the doors locked Hours on their website list midday to 8pm. Disappointing. Highly recommend calling before you go. Have enjoyed previous visits
My spicy wrap was super wet and salty.
The covered patio while in the rain and the nice heater was amazing to experience
Amazing place, with beyond amazing service! Seafood paella wad amazing and a view of the harbour simply gorgeous Food
The staff were very polite and professional. The location and atmosphere was also great. However, the food was very mediocre, and honestly pretty bad for the price. The fish and chips were overpriced and the batter was slightly burnt while the fish was very plain.
I had the sirloin burger, sub Ceasars, add sautéed mushrooms and my wife had 1pc cod fish and chips, sub poutine. All the parts of my burger were over peppered (crushed black pepper), the sautéed mushrooms were peppered, the bread, the meat, everything. The meat of the burger was amazing, I just wish the whole thing was less aggressively peppered. My Caesar salad was pretty garlic forward, a little more than I prefer, but still good. My wifes fish was good, the breading was tasty, she liked the fish, but I thought some of it was dry and the breading was separated and like a huge shell around the fish. All in all a good dinner, just a few questionable choices.
Very nice place with a direct view of the port... very good food and really friendly staff... super recommended!!
Great food, service and location. Our pick for best restaurant that wont break your budget. A must visit for a trip to Victoria.
A great little restaurant right on the water. The atmosphere is lovely and the service amazing. The tuna tataki and clam chowder were delicious.
One of the best clam chowders on Vancouver Island! The flavors are rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. Every bite was a treat. The ambiance of the place is also fantastic cozy, welcoming, and perfect for enjoying a meal. Definitely a must-visit spot if you re looking for great food and a comfortable setting.
Had a very good lunch here.
Its a beautiful atmosphere ,its got good views of the Harbour and good food ,bar ,indoor and seasonal, dry fall outdoor seating areas with fire pit ....lots of options to choose, food portions are decent and Sunday appetizer special of two for one , washrooms, guest wifi ,dogs are welcome on patio ,pay parking lot next to the restaurant , its easy walking distance , and public transportation nearby .......our server AVA is very nice and gives good customer service
Casual Bar environment more so than a restaurant! Food was tasty and cane food fast but there were flies that flew by my table the whole time I was there which wasn t very appetizing! Service was ok! They just seemed very busy and couldn t take the time to respond quickly or offer food suggestions
We had the fish and chips and the fish was hard to find.
Waited 40 minutes for my takeout order that was clearly forgotten about. Person taking my order at the front did not once comfort me to know that the order is on its way. She seemed very nervous given that she had not smiled once with any of the customers coming in. My wife and I waited so long and I was standing at the front waiting patiently. Our group of 9 people all received and finished their food before we could receive ours. And we came to the restaurant at the same time.
We arrived at 12:50. The restaurant was busy with people waiting at the front desk. A few patrons were leaving after their lunch and the line moved quickly. The hostess prepared a table of five for us quickly and soon after our drink and meal orders had been taken. Good burgers, fresh salad, crispy fries, cold beer. Also, a fun view of the boats and float planes operating along the dock.
Vitor helped make our family reunion special this Thanksgiving. Great food, and fantastic service.
Clam chowder was a bit salty and forgot cheese on my burger and gave my wife fries she said she didn t want
The food was mediocre (overcooked halibut and burger) but the service and atmosphere is excellent.
I got the fish and chips. Was not enjoyable. Definitely overcooked or the oil hasn t been changed in a while. The fish was very dark and had a hard time cutting it. Food
Came here with my friend. Servers were super polite and attentive. The food was kinda meh. The only thing they got right are the garlic toast which was delicious but the pappardelle al ragu di agnello brasato was somewhat disappointing; the sauce is somewhat bland with okay heat and the lamb shank pieces were sparse. The clam chowder was def on salty side but decent amount of clams. I think if I were to come back again, Id try something else on the menu and not reorder todays choices. I did have my friends fries and they were addictive. So there are merits, I just chose the incorrect color in food roulette wheel today.
Awesome vibe great music, greasy fish and chips and burger, clam chowder was Elite
Very celiac friendly! I had calamari and 2 piece cod and fries. Did not get sick at all. Server seemed to know about celiac disease.
The atmosphere is fantastic sitting right at James Bay. I heard the salmon wellington is delicious but it was sold out so I opted for the steak sandwich. Delicious!
Great food.
Family friendly place with the kids menu and cool coloring stuff for kids. Super tasty food! And it s so cool to see water airplanes taking off. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu and coloring stuff
Tucked in by the Victoria Harbour airport. The atmosphere is breathtaking. The food was delicious and I was thrilled with the gluten free options. Service was friendly and efficient.
Came off a cruise and tried some poutine. Was fast and delicious
Fun place to eat dinner. Great fish and chips and specials, On the same dock as the float planes. Perfect view!
Great food but service was not so great - our server was having a bad day
My partner had the salmon tacos and said they were very good. I got the fish and chips sampler. I was quite unimpressed. Way too much breading, almost not halibut meat, the salmon meat was dried out and the Wisconsin cod fish fry is lots better. The slaw had no taste whatsoever, not even cabbage taste. Love the patio seating and watching the water taxis and float planes.
We had the worst customer experience at this restaurant prior to be seated (thankfully) so ended up leaving. Our party of 8 (two families) was told there was no room, so we offered to split into smaller groups. The host said thered be a 40-minute wait for a party of 4. With hungry kids, we opted for takeout instead. Throughout, the hosts attitude was unwelcoming. She told us to move away while we looked at the menu, despite no other customers being around. After 15 minutes of waiting to order, she rudely informed us that even takeout would take 40 minutes. It was clear she didnt want us there, so we left.
Great gluten free fish and chips and calamari. Very nice, helpful, quick service! The patio is by the water but in the shade which was the perfect temperature.
Burger meat tasted like a frozen preformed patty that had been warmed on grill. Clam chowder tasted like it came out of a jar. Very unsatisfactory food quality. Salad was a thoughtless pile of lettuce. I rarely do restaurant reviews. Had to post this.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Awesome happy hour and daily specials.
Just waiting over an hour for food. I try to give them chance after chance because I love the location and atmosphere but it cant take this long for drinks or food. Staff are friendly but the delay kills the vibe
Great spot for a beer and dinner , food was great and service was good as well. I highly recommend if your visiting in Victoria.
Food was delicious. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options Recommended dishes Poutine
Awesome is the word I would use to describe our nights out at The Otter . As locals for the past 3 years, who are in walking distance of the thriving downtown area, we have tried many restaurants and pubs. We were late adopters of the flying otter, thinking it was a tourist trap for travellers on the seaplanes. Were we ever wrong! We were invited there by friends and it has been a regular event ever since. The food is always delicious and the daily deals are crazy good. Steak night on Thursdays (which we were very wary to try) has turned out to be a favourite. Delicious thick slices of beef with garlic prawns, a Caesar salad and the most perfectly cooked baked potato, all for $21.95. Add a happy hour wine at $1 an ounce that is more than acceptable and you have the perfect date night that does not break the bank. And of course, the location is 2nd to none. Harbour life at its best watching the ferries, water taxis and sea planes coming and going from our perch on the patio on the water. Hats off to assistant manager Sinead O Callaghan for continuing to make every visit better than the one before.
Great restaurant! Have been a living here all my life and never thought to visit! Beautiful atmosphere and the service was unreal! Sinead, really made our visit the best! Very attentive and helpful! Come here if you want to experience the inner harbor as a tourist or a local!
not good service
I highly recommend trying the seafood soup. And the halibut. The atmosphere is 4 stars due to the noise from the planes arriving nearby.
I stumbled upon this place at random, and I am glad that I did. It deserves more than 4.2 stars it has at the time of this review. I tried the chowder, cod and halibut fish and chips. I do not like seafood soups, but the chowder alone might be the most delicious soup that I ve had in my life. It was so good that I cried while I ate it. Both fish and chips were really well made too, most importantly the fish tasted fresh. That, combined with a great batter and the best fries I had in North America, made for a delectable dish. The tartar sauce served with the fish was wonderful too, and the ketchup tasted like it was made out of tomatoes, more tomatoey than vinegary, and not sweet, unlike commercial ketchup like Heinz for example. The quality of food was above and beyond compared to any place I ate in in British Columbia. The chef must be a sadist to serve such dangerously delicious food to the public.
Best paella I ve ever had. They also have some really good unique mocktails.
Have a good meal, drinks on the water, right by the float planes!
I ate there in 2015. It was delicious. The waiters were very enthusiastic and the scenery was beautiful.
Great food, friendly staff
Wayyy too much batter on the fish & chips
Ideally, located on the waterfront beside the Victoria Harbor Airport in downtown Victoria, this restaurant has friendly, courteous staff, great food, and excellent views. I will be back!
They have a nice deck right out in front of the air terminal. The servers seem over worked, but are always willing to gdo whats needed with a smile. The food is good. I only go during happy hour. Its not that their prices are high, as much as just eating out is expensive. However, the appies are tasty. EDIT 10 months later. Cant write another review. So Ill piggy back this one. The fries were a bowling full of French fry bits from the bottom of the fryer. Very disappointing. Check out the pic. Bacon wrapped prawns were nice.
Had a wonderful experience here, hostess and waitress were very accommodating and flexible with us given our 1yr old in tow. The chicken sandwich was one of the best I ve had! We loved sitting out on the patio and watching the planes. My sons kid meal (fish and chips) was large! My husband also really liked his salmon burger. We will definitely come back. They had a live DJ inside, not sure if that was just for Canada day or always.
One of the best bars in Victoria, especially during the summer. Right in the Harbour and you get to watch float planes while you tuck into a great selection of food and drinks. The daily specials are amazing, particularly on Wednesdays ($5 beers and $9 wings) and Sundays (2 for 1 apples and $8 Ceasers). Seriously, where else can you get a $5 beer, on the water, in Victoria?!
The customer service was bad. However the chowder or shrimp chowder was amazing. 10CA$ for a filling tasty meal. 30min wait tho.
The best and most reasonable on the waterfront. Calamari was legit salt and pepper strips, not frozen breaded. Excellent burger and cesar bloody mary.
We went to eat here because of supposed gluten free options on the menu. My daughter was absolutely thrilled that the fish and chips were gluten-free. Later that evening I became quite ill. She is only like that when things are completely wrong. The service was also not very sharp. So my conclusion is: dont eat here for the gluten-free fish and chips. It was very pleasant there. Dietary restrictions: People say they can do gluten-free, but it hasnt gone well.
Good food and our server was wonderful. Lovely views of the harbor. Problem came at the end. We finished dinner at 8:45pm and ordered dessert (6 donuts). After multiple apologies from our server we got our dessert at 9:15. Yep - 30 minutes. At 9:00 we were assured ours was next up. In most restaurants by then we would have been offered the dessert complimentary of or half off or something by then. Since we were not, I asked about it and the server said she would ask the manager. She came back with 15% off the $8 dessert. This felt a little insulting and like poor customer service. While the server understood the problem with leaving us sitting there for half an hour the manager clearly did not seem to care or want us back. Makes you wonder what else the manager is not caring about or cheapskating on?
Great fish and chips! Big portions!
We had a burger and a steak sandwich, both of which were delicious. Great service.
very lovely location. i recommend the chowder and the tataki. our server daichi was great
Average customer service. Host did not even know waiting area had heat activated for guests to wait outside in the waiting area. Food had too much salt put it and no exceptions were made. Barely eaten food and fully charged. Highly recommend the samplers!! Fresh fish and great portion. Big no for the Pastas. Parking: Prime downtown hardly find parking since some construction is going on.
Skeg ..... Excellent patio early supper. Could not have a better server than Rachael. An absolute pleasure. Skeg Food
My wife and I stopped here for an early dinner before hopping on the Clipper back to Seattle. It s definitely walkable from and to the terminal. Service was fast and friendly and the food was excellent. We definitely have this on our return list next time we re in town.
We shared the Salmon Wellington along with two appetizers and it was all amazing. I can t recommend this place enough and their Salmon Wellington is 10/10! It was our first visit and we are definitely going back.
Very nice place, delicious food!
Got food poisoning!!! Me and my husband went here for dinner yesterday, and had chowder, salad, seafood linguine, and cheesecake which was around $80 in total. We shared everything except my husband did not eat the mussels that came with the linguine. I did, and ended up vomiting for a day. I don t have a shellfish allergy. Also I have had mussels at this place before (in seafood paella) without any issues. So the only possible culprit is the batch of mussels served to us this time.
My wife and I got the gluten-free fish sampler. The gf batter was absolutely delicious! The portion was huge. The views are excellent. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Highly recommend eating here. Dietary restrictions: The best gluten-free batter Ive ever had.
On the water on Victoria Harbour. Make sure you book in advance and get a veranda table
Ideally located on the waterfront beside the Victoria Harbour Airport in downtown Victoria, this restaurant has friendly, courteous staff, great food (definitely try the paella) and excellent views. I will be back!
We stopped here for a drink and snacks before boarding our flight. It was really nice, the servers were all very friendly and the bites were really good.
2 for 1 appies. Awesome. Clam chowder was very tasty and the fish and chips were good Food
Wife and both ordered cob salad with grilled chicken. First 2 bites of Salad smelled oder thought it was from septic. Took one bite of chicken and it smelled and tasted bad. Like I have never in all my years of eating chicken gotten that. Told staff they apologized And we just couldnt eat there. Early still hopefully we dont get sick.
No dogs allowed on the patio. Food was mediocre.
The atmosphere is exhilarating! The seaplanes take off right next to you which is pretty cool! Good atmosphere as well, and the food is quite tasty. Fun spot
Great place for fish and chips Staff are very friendly and service is great Food
I heard this restaurant was good from a couple people, and weve been wanting to try it for a while. First the food was really good. The calamari was unique and different than what Ive been used to, but awesome flavour and excellent dip. The meals we got were all good. The atmosphere is nice being on the water as well. Totally worth it just for the view. The only negative was the service was quite bad, we were there an hour before we could order dinner. By the end of the meal we were there 2 hours total which is fine if youre not in a rush. But our server was absent the whole night. I get it was busy but they just ignored us for the first 30 mins with no drinks or anything. If the service was better it would be a 5 star for sure. I would still recommend it to people for the food and view alone.
We loved it!! Much better than Red Fish Blue Fish!! Friendly staff, great food, beautiful view, and a warm comfortable outdoor area.
Had an exceptional time. Would highly recommend for anyone going to Havn Spa as an after spa dinner. My partner had the sea food linguine, and the sauce in her opinion was amazing & The sea food portions were plentiful with a ton of variety. The only dislike was the amount of onions, and that they werent in the menu description. I had the spicy prawn wrap. It was one of the best fish taco/burrito dishes Ive eaten. Its loaded in vegetables and its prawns have a kick. Would recommend with the mango salad dressing.
Having cocktails outside in the sun (as it comes and goes) on the waterfront by the fire before the final event of the Olympic Logging Conference. I could stay in this exact spot for a very long time!! Everything is spot on!! And our server??? Daichi - he is by far the BEST!!!
My friends and I had lunch today, and it was delicious. I had salmon tacos, my friends had Phylli steak sandwich and halibut wrap and they were all very tasty. The highlight was the Ceasar salad..one of the best. Service was excellent, cant wait to come again.
Didn t get a chance to try the food as it was over an hour wait and then we had to leave before it was served to catch our flight. They were nice about it at least.
I would love to rate the food however after waiting for an hour and a half and watching people seated half an hour after us get their dinner I was getting hangry and had to cancel completely. Staff tried hard but unfortunately it was a bad experience all round. The one drink I had was however very nice. There was also no attempt to rectify the situation. If you go make sure you have plenty of time it may take a while.
I got the Tuna Tataki and it was oddly bland but I d still recommend! Cute little spot on the marina and a nice atmosphere Food
Nice view. Good fish, you can get the fish and chips sampler with salmon, fish, shrimp. Good price. The view is lovely, quite a q unique experience. I don t really recommend the calamari, not that much flavor.
Absolutely delicious! Amazing view and nice patio. The margarita pitcher was so good, and we all loved the food! The chicken wing special on Wednesdays was awesome
Vitor was our server!! My cod wrap was delicious!! Best coleslaw
Food was too salty to my taste
Staff were really friendly and attentive. Location was excellent, right on the water. We watched the seaplanes come in while we ate. I had wings to start and they were brilliant. We had fish and chips for our mains. Atmosphere was really chilled, we were on the deck and it was lovely. They have heaters for when the weather is cooler.
Pretty nice little spot on the water. It has some cute inner harbor views with views to watch planes come in. Food was great and drinks were well balanced and impressive . We did have our first server disappear a little but another server helped and service and the manager were very helpful and understanding
Really enjoyed my experience here. The staff were really friendly, the food was great and youre right on the water so you get great views.
Have a dairy allergy and there wasnt a bread option that didnt have dairy, even the gluten free buns. The waitress also didnt seem equipped to answer questions about food allergies so it took a while to get sorted. Ended up making my sandwich a wrap, and after that the food was great. Also, you probably dont need a big pile of onions on the kids menu burger. So, some things we found odd and difficult, but overall the food ended up really good and they have a great location by the water. And good cocktails.
A great place on the harbour.
Stopped by for a drink on the patio. Initial intro wasnt great as the hostess took a long time to come to the door and barely acknowledged us and didnt say a word when she took us to the patio. Luckily, we had a fantastic server, Cassidy. She was excellent. Patio is nice on a sunny day and the interior of the restaurant looked good.
Nice view, great food, tasty drinks, inexpensive!
Great food awesome service
Amazing burger and truffle fries, great patio and great service!
My Mom was visiting us from Phoenix so we stopped here for drinks and appies and it was phenomenal. My Mom has very high expectations on service and I can t say enough how friendly and fun our server Cass was, she was super funny and really attentive. Food and drink were awesome but Cass really made our visit special!
Love watching the sunset and enjoying the happy hour.
Seafood linguine was to die for! Yam fries and chipotle mayo on point. Butter chicken, delicious. The only thing the was unfortunate was sitting in direct sunlight that was about 36° with window glare. Asked the server if we could move the umbrella, and she said she would get someone to move it, but then no one came. Asked her again, she said she spoke up the manager. The umbrella was cooling am empty reserved table. In the hour that we were there no one came but my partner was about to have a god dang heat stroke sweating bullets. Not sure if anyone is to blame. But next time I wont ask, I will just move it myself for sure.
Located by Victorias inner harbour the restaurant is adjacent to the float plane facility. We saw an otter (not the aircraft, but the mammal) on the wharf. Very good service with lots of nearby parking.
Anyway, the customer service is great. The food is also high quality and delicious. However, the portions are large so be careful not to order too much
Typically my experience with restaurants next to an airport is that they take advantage of the captive audience and get by with subpar food combined with very high costs. But that is not the case at Flying Otter at all. I finally gave them a try because I didn t have time to go anywhere else, and I found their prices are fair and their food is good. This was a pleasant surprise, and now I m a repeat customer. Service is also good. Ambience is great, especially the view. Portions are generous. I regret not going to Flying Otter earlier.
Took my family here on a beautiful sunny day. The atmosphere and the service was top notch but the taste of the food was very disappointing. It didnt taste terrible. Just no taste.
Total west coast adventure! The moule frites were great!
The food and service is great, but it is really dark inside. Otherwise, the food is delicious. They also offer desserts like crème brûlée. Kid-friendliness: They offer very good dishes for kids and serve water in a plastic cup.
Excellent food, great outside view of waterfront, staff is especially flexible towards orders, and each order comes with a complementary bottle of spring water. Who could ask for more? Dietary restrictions: Great gluten free options
The food was very delicious. However, I was seated at the very back seat facing the sea, but there was a gap in the floor, and my smartphone fell 5-6 meters to the bottom of the sea. The store couldnt deal with it, so the store next door called a diver to pick it up. I sincerely thank you. Be careful where you sit.
They should update business hours on Google Business. We came here from far here to lunch and it was closed.
Had a wonderful experience here. The chowder was great, beers were good. The staff were incredibly kind, fun and professional. Our server Tori went above and beyond to make us feel at home as if we were all old friends. Food
Wow. We will be back to check out more of the menu.
We were excited to try the fish n chip special and to be seated so close to the water. The fish was horrible, the dough was like soggy bread and the fish itself was nasty. When i told them how bad the fish was i was told that they had several complaints that day and would.tell the kitchen!!! Really? They should have stopped serving it !!!
Had a good supper and service seating at the bar, cool staff and good food
Great food and reasonably priced for location
We love the flying otter
Great waterfront views from the entire restaurant. Staff was very friendly, polite and accommodating.
Very delicious the food was 10/10 but they burned my meat
Very delicious and prices are really affordable
A cute view of the harbour sitting at a high-top table. The chowder was very good. I had the salmon tacos with a salad on the side. If youre doing this, try a different side than salad. I dont recommend. The side salad on its own was fantastic but was basically the same ingredients in the salmon taco. There was no variation in my lunch. The salmon was a very small piece on a huge bed of salad. Couldnt really taste anything but salad. My partner had the fish and chips. The fries/chips were great and the fish was battered lightly and was fresh. He had no tartar sauce given though. Isnt that a fish and chips staple? I left hungry and unsatisfied with the salmon taco. I have to go back to try again.
Our first dinner in Victoria. Excellent food. Good service and pleasant atmosphere. Did not have to wait. Got there around 8pm.
Drinks are great, food does have a little room for improvement and orders generally take too long. Apart from that I can give a recommendation!
Great seafood pasta
I can t recommend the fish and chips. All batter, no cod. Sid was awesome. Great service.
We just had clam chowder and some honey garlic chicken wings. Food was excellent, My husband was served his soup and I didnt get any. The waiter didnt pay attention when we both ordered a bowl of soup. I had to bring it to the attention of the waiter so I had to wait awhile for my clam chowder. It wasnt hot enough for my taste but it was good. The sauce on the chicken wings was excellent, so yummy. The waiter did apologize.
Last 5 times in a row Ive been to this establishment, they have been out of sourdough breadbowls for their clam chowder menu item. Last time 7-26-23 they had plenty of seating available but notified their customers they wouldnt be taking food orders from 45 minutes to an hour after being seated.. They have a great ambiance, great service and food but their management seems to be lacking coordination, training and oversight.. I highly doubt I will ever step foot inside this establishment.. I get it that during the peak summer tourist season, wait/kitchen staff are maxed out in production, but when your establishment is barely half full and you tell any future customer that you wont be taking their food order for 45 minutes to an hour, its like you are telling your customer we will pour you drinks, because we can make as much or more profit off alcohol and beverages then food, we really dont want to take your money. Pretty sad really, from a business stand point..
Delicious food. Friendly service. Looooong wait.
Fish and chips are good. We had paella. It was delicious Drinks are great
food wasn t great, kinda bland and thrown all together into a bowl. service was good and quick.
Really good dinner. The place was real busy and server said thered be 30 minute wait. No sooner had we turned around a table was ready. Great service.
Wings nights after 3PM every Wednesday is 7$ per pound of wings and 5$ Pints. Very hard to beat! Great atmosphere, music is bumping and great for anyone who wants the outdoors ocean view and good vibes. Food is great as well :) Sid the Kid is a beauty server as well Food
The best place before enjoying the aquatic attractions of Victoria.
Not a good experience dining here. Was told food would be ready in 40 minutes and decided to wait. Took 1.5 HRS friend ordered the fish and chips and got food poisoning later that day. DON T recommend.
gave my friend food poisoning and food was medicore also waited for over an hour for my food, service was also rude
This place is busy! Expect a wait. Halibut fish and chips was delicious, though, and the servers were friendly. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options! Wheelchair accessibility: There is a long steep ramp to get down into the restaurant with planks on one side for shoe traction. A wheelchair would be able to squeeze on the side.
Was told the wait for food after being seated was 40 min, it ended up being over an hour and a half. Food was ok but not worth the wait and ended up getting food poisoning! Asked for an app to tie us over during the wait but we re given packets of oyster crackers.
A memorable fish and chips!
We got club house sandwich , fish and fries (cod) and salmon tacos. The food was good , the fish has a very thick batter so if you re not into that then I suggest something else. The salmon tacos were slightly dry. Very nice view looking out of the water.
Great place, right on the water next to whale watching business and and float plane terminal in Victorias inner harbor. Food, brew and drinks are good, place is nice and cozy, service good even when the place is full. Thanks for good time. Food
Delicious food and super friendly staff! Lovely to sit outside and look out at the water while we ate at their Flight Deck. I had the chicken sandwich which was awesome and my husband enjoyed his fish and chips and the huge piece of deep-fried cheesecake, which looked incredible! Edit: we came back two years later and had another great meal here. This place holds up!
I absolutely loved it here. The New England Clam Chowder was tangy, delicious, and super fresh tasting. The Halibut and chips were very good and super fresh as well. And we finished off with a deep fried cheese cake which was very large, totally shareable and so good. The view and activity i the harbor was nice to watch. The staff was very much on top of things, very personable, very fun and accommodating.
A rare 5 stars but this place deserves it and then some! Food is awesome value and very good. Atmosphere excellent, service is very good also. Come on Thursday, wines 30% off and yummy steak and prawn special $19.99!! Food
Came in with a group of 8, said they could accommodate us in 45 minutes and seat all of us together. We patiently waited, came back and then they seated us at two separate tables nowhere near each other. They then changed their minds a few times and told us they couldn t accommodate us and we had to sit separately. My family and I barely see eachother and wanted to have a meal together. HORRIBLE communication by the staff. Very disappointing
Had an absolutely amazing dinner here. Salmon Wellington was as big as my head and so good. The Seafood Linguine was so delicious and fresh. Although they were busy, the service was still great. We had beautiful sunset views from our table as well.
Warm and patient service, excellent and large amount of food, elegant dining environment, and affordable price.
My favorite place to eat in Victoria! Amazing views, amazing food!
Elizabeth did a great job serving our table of four. Food was delicious! Tuna, chowder, fish wrap and salad. Drinks were delivered timely. View is great! Watched seaplanes and boats come and go.
A friend recommended this place to us while we were visiting Victoria BC. My wife had the fish and chips with halibut (rather than cod), and I had the spicy prawn wrap. Fish was ok. The wrap was spicy hot in the first couple bites, then only somewhat through the rest (wasnt consistent throughout). The clam chowder was also just ok - Ive had better. I had an old fashioned to drink, and it was probably 1/2 the size of other places for a similar price. They only had one bartender, so just getting a diet coke took 10 minutes. We sat on the covered patio since it was a nice afternoon, but they had the rain barriers up. The sun was coming straight in through the clear barriers, and with no breeze (because the barriers were there) was getting very warm. It made 1/2 the meal almost miserable. We were ready to get out, so we skipped dessert. I honestly think the fries were the best part of the meal. The only entertainment was watching the sea planes come and go.
The staff is very friendly and the place is so nice next to the ocean. However the food is not good :/ I didn t like anything except for the tuna. The fish tacos have a very plain flavor, the halibut tasted like cod, the fries where fried with dark oil and not crispy at all, the batter of fish and chips was very thick.
Website says happy hour prices for wine were 4.50 per 6 oz glass.NOT!! That why we came here. Apparently website not updated!! False advertising!! Wasted my time coming here. Many other good happy hours around.
Great food. Fast and friendly service. Would recommend!
Was seated and half hour passed but food order still not started. Decided to leave and canceled order. Not impressed . Do not recommend unless you want to make this place a day trip.
Fish tacos and fish and chips right on the water.
Great discovery, the linguine dish with seafood. We had the wings with apple barbecue sauce and highly recommended as well.
Seafood linguine is a must, don t order other dish, you won t need it :), very agreeable staff and helpful, I would be back when I m in Victoria
The food was good, but not as hot as I would have liked it. It was near closing time so I did not mention it to our server who was excellent. Nice to be on the water and have heaters that made it very comfortable. The noise level was good for conversation.
We had a delicious fish and chips with a house cobs salad, everything was fresh and tasty. The service was quick, friendly and efficient. The view of the harbor is just perfect!
Very tasty food at good prices. Very nice service too. The noodles are highly recommended.
The service and the food are great! Prices are very reasonable for the location.
Loved the outer deck area. The harbor seaport was just entertaining.
Food was excellent! We came back for a second night in a row. Loved the Seafood Paella and Seafood Linguinie! Not to mention the Deep Fried Cheesecake!! You guys need Flying Otter merch!!!!
Great fish and chips, excellent service, view of the seaplane activity. What more could you want?
Came with a group of friends for a wing night special. Was busy, but got sat and served pretty quick! Great atmosphere, would have liked to sit inside as it was cold out, but good thing they have hot wings to warm up with Overall a great place and would return again!
Great view and nice service. Two thumbs down on the buttermilk chicken sandwich overcooked
Went there on a Sunday morning at 11am and was disappointed to discover there was no breakfast or brunch offerings on the menu. Fabulous location though, feels like youre right on the ocean....because you are!! Food
The food here was great! The wings at happy hour were crispy, the kids meals were huge and the green curry was delicious. The batter on the fish for fish and chips was very thick and not super crispy. We loved the view of the water and watching the planes and boats coming in. Our server was very nice and patient with our kids.
Good service and tasty food with big portions
One of the best we have been to!!!
We ordered several menus but we asked the waiter to please have nothing spicy since I cant eat anything spicy, the waiter said several times that he would make sure that no dish was spicy. He brings the dishes to the table and upon tasting, I cant explain which of everything was spicier, but so spicy it made you cry. The waiter apologized and brought the dishes back and everything was correct. We got a free dish because of the problem. Despite this, I recommend the place
Great food for great price the service was amazing
A definite bang for your buck with quality tasting food! We had the fish and chips which were on special, and the spicy prawn wrap which was incredible (though it could have used a bit more avocado). It did take a while to be acknowledged to be seated, which I found strange as we got there when it wasn t yet busy. Overall, I would recommend this place. Inexpensive yet great tasting food.
Amazing water views and chill atmosphere. Sat at the bar and had great happy hour apples. Calamari and wings.
Great place on the inner harbor for dinner. Staff was friendly, fun.
Came here because we heard they had good fish and chips. Did not disappoint! The fish was in a light crispy batter and the fish (cod) was moist and flaky. The chips are fresh cut (I saw they guy in the kitchen doing it). The only minor spot was the coleslaw. It was so lightly dressed that we were eating raw cabbage, there was no other flavor than that. Service was great. Would very much come back again to try something else on the menu.
We ordered take out from this restaurant and the person on the phone was so nice, I wanted to tip them simply for their phone etiquette We ordered fish and chips and it was really really good - though it was a bit too greasy for me. But still amazing good! The wait time was very fast as well. 100% recommend the place:)
Nice atmosphere, service was fine but the bacon wrapped shrimp was undercooked and the fries were not great.
Friendly staff, great drinks and right on the water!
Steak and Shrimp Thursday special is great value!
What a treat. What a view . Cant wait to go back .
The best part about the evening, minus my husband, was Tori. She was so personable and just an absolutely wonderful human. She knew exactly what to say and we even had a great chat about Julie Andrew s at the end. Everyone should go here just for her! Best service!
