I enjoyed the music and the chairs are comfortable, I m not familiar with the names of the foods and the menu was written on the wall. I wasn t sure what to get so I got a quesadilla, it definitely filled me up and it was delicious. I will eat there again.

It was like walking into a cafe in a small town in Central America, welcoming, lively, and friendly. When I ordered a vegetarian burrito they made it fresh with tons of veggies and delicious cheese. If you need a break from wandering Victoria and don t have time to travel too far!

Go for the food and stay for the feeling of being treated like family. The matriarch was so kind and the food was great! We had a tamale, chicken quesadilla, and cochinita pibil sandwiches. All very yummy! Kid-friendliness: Very warm and welcoming for kids!

This chilled local cafe has Latin American inspired dishes including breakfast burritos! When we ordered, we saw the chef grabbing the onions and started from scratch you could taste the freshness. The breakfast burritos is amongst the best I have had My partner ordered the Spanish omelette which was generous and incredibly tasty! Very friendly service and delicious food. I had the choripan sandwich and got some of the empanadas for take way. The house made chorizo in the sandwich was among the best I ve had and was delicious with the chimichurri sauce on the bun. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Fresko is a Latin hole-in-the-way with a simple menu and options from a variety of countries! So delicious! The food was incredibly homey and made with pure love, the service by Abuelita Gloria who is the main chef and her grandson Jose was top notch! You don t find hospitality like that these days anymore, you also rarely go to a restaurant and feel like you re eating a home cooked meal. What a pleasure and delight to end up here for Friday night dinner after a full day of exploring. Between 4 of us we ordered: birria beef tacos, chicken tacos, Pozole Rojo, beef arepa, pork arepa, flan + also took some goodies from their market! Atmosphere and the musical selection were also wonderful they played bachata hits and it was perfect!

I absolutely Hate leaving a bad review however I was so excited to try this place, I had just gotten off a 12hr overnight shift working at the shelter and I had been told by friends this place had the best birria.. when ordering I always make sure to let the restaurant know that I am celiac with dairy allergy more than once and when I had let the woman know for a second time she got mad, and said senorita, I already told you it was gluten free, I am not a liar. And that really shocked me because I always always for my safety and to make sure I just say it more than once. I went and picked up my food regardless I had been looking forward to trying the cooking. I ordered 4 birria tacos and birria soup, I ended up paying $40 and leaving a decent tip. And didnt look at my meal until I arrived at the park I was going to be eating at.... When I got there I was pretty disappointed with A the amount of food I got how little I actually received for $40 and the quality, Ive had this meal from other places and paid half the price and got way more and way better quality. Im not sure if it was a one-off day for them or if it was because I irritated the lady about me being celiac or if this is just the norm for the restaurant but it doesnt seem like it, just from browsing other peoples pictures... I most likely will not be going back, sadly .. because I heard wonderful things about this place, but first impressions really mean something to me.

Probably the best service I got here in Victoria. The food is excellent latin food that got me recommending this place to my friends. It s also really cozy and cultural and as a latino I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Also the owner is such a wonderful person, she gave me and my partner two drinks for the price of one (so we could try their hibiscus drink) and added just 2 dollars for much more food so we could share the same dish. Would 100% recommend and will go back there whenever I can

Love this place so much~ its my go-to stop when Im craving a bite, especially their beef arepas. The food is always good, along with the service. They are all so sweet and fun. Its amazing to see this family-run business flourishing in the downtown core. Support local when you can!

The food was very, very good. It is one of my favorite Mexican/Columbia café in Canada. I recommend people coming here. It has a great atmosphere and the service was very fast. Come here to get the most tasty food here in Canada. I recommend getting the Cuban sandwiches and the beef birria.

Saw them at the festival de Mexicano and it was amazing! They were very friendly and sweet, gave us great recommendations, and very appreciative of our business. The food was amazing!! The food in this small, casual restaurant is excellent. The staff is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The food is handmade by grandma and the recipes are clearly her long held secrets! We ordered a sandwich, which was excellent, and wish we had more time in Victoria to return for other items on the menu.

This place is the best!!! The food is incredible! It s family-owned; when we visited, Gloria was cooking and her grandson, José, was serving. They were so warm and welcoming. He took the time to answer all of our questions and explained the menu items that were unfamiliar to us. Gloria prepared the best soup I ve ever had. The ingredients were obviously fresh and high quality. The portions were generous and very filling. I can t wait to go back and try the tamales. I go here for the Cubano and the tres leches cake, both of which I dream about when I havent been in awhile. Everyone there is lovely and kind, and my 4-year-old enjoyed dancing to the tunes while we were waiting for our food. :) This place is a hidden gem right in the middle of downtown. Dont miss it (but save me a piece of cake!)

I didnt get an opportunity to take photos with the group, because the food smelled too good and tasted too delicious to stop. We had the chorizo taco, beef empanada, chicken enchiladas, chicken quesadilla, tres leches, and flan. So many places over-engineer their quesadillas. This place keeps it simple, and it tastes good!

Everyone was so friendly from the moment I set foot to the moment I left The music was bustin too I had my first ever tamales and OH MY it was so good. He even asked if I wanted more than one, but I was nice and full afterwards so dont go too crazy. I am for SURE coming back with friends and family. I cant wait to try more Latin and Caribbean foods from them!!

There s clearly passion in what they do and they deserve a try. Finally we get a gem downtown! Very excited to try their bar this summer! Parking: Just around the corner there are multiple parking spots including EV chargers. Kid-friendliness: Definitely worth trying with the family. Wheelchair accessibility: Tight doorway but certainly possible. It s a pull door but the team is happy to help out!

The food and service was absolutely incredible. We reserved a space for myself and my 16 students visiting Victoria for a school trip. He rearranged the entire place to get us all seated and even delayed closing to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was amazing in quality and satiety. He worked as hard as a team of 6 and I couldnt be more impressed. Id highly recommend this place to anyone!

Thank you for an incredible breakfast, I had the Mexican eggs - the refried beans were lovely and the whole dish was packed with flavour. The other three diners were equally impressed with the Conchinita Pibil, All day breakfast and Cuban Sandwich. The single origin coffee was also lovely. A laid back atmosphere with top tier food and service that was warm and attentive. Will be back and will be recommending to anyone who will listen. Thanks again!

I asked for something vegetarian and was served the best heuvos rancheros I ve ever had. So flavourful. Lots of veggies and beans. Partner really enjoyed the cubano. Will definitely be back!

Had the cubano, perfect bread to meat ratio! The black bean soup was also really good, didnt know if I would like it but I enjoyed it! They had this very tasty swirly bread, it was savoury and sweet!

My neighbour introduced me to this place. Omg, they have Cuban style tamales (vegetarian and non vegetarian), were amazing! The owner also advised to try something called pasusaz or something like that, he said typical from Nicaragua or Venezuela , not to sure, again, were delicious with a cup of coffee. Made of corn and cheese. I can t believe this place doesn t have a line up. I understand the owner makes everything from scratch. Great food.

Hands down the best sandwiches in Victoria. An absolute hidden gem. I always take ppl here and theyre stunned by how good it is and that they hadnt heard of it. The owner is super sweet and honestly all the sandwiches will change your life.

We went to this restaurant in search of the best reviews. We ordered two types of food that tasted relatively good overall but the preparation of the food was very long and it was not satisfactory. Given the high score, we expected a crowded restaurant, which was not the case. It might not be a bad idea to try it once.

Wish I had discovered this place sooner, affordable prices and amazing food leaves me coming back for more. A true hidden gem.

Not only is the food absolutely delicious here but the owners are superb!! We were traveling with a group of students and the owner put on some music, brought out a disco light and taught us some bachata and salsa and was just overall so friendly and lovely.

Joined a friend for lunch here and had the Cuban sandwich. It was tasty and from my limited perspective seemed to be authentic. The owner was very friendly with us and brought us some pickled jalepenos to share. I would say come for the food and service. The inside is not particularly atmospheric, but its cozy and the owner will make you feel welcome.

Ive been coming to Fresko One World regularly since they opened at the start of the pandemic and tell everyone about it too! I love a place with heart and authentic food. You can tell the food is made with love. Joe is always attentive and welcoming, too. Try the three milk cake - you wont be disappointed!

Yesterday we had toasted Cubana and Chorizo sandwiches - excellent flavour - with added choice of salad or soup. Lentil curry soup tasted great. Loved the fresh green garden salad with spinach sliced onion, sliced black olives, sliced tomatoes and a creamy dressing too. Quality food! Nice owner! Also - to the lady who posted about no downtown bathroom - terrible feeling! - a great public washroom is in the Bay Centre about 50 yards from Fresko.

Ive been coming here once a week/two weeks. Great food, really like the omelets and Cubano. Great coffee and the owner is a great person.

Even though the place looks a little shabby, the food OMG! Whenever I go there the owner offers us the freshest food (whats in the oven) and my favourite is their rice and beans with chicken, and the most delicious Chorizopan! They are so good I dont even have photos because I usually gobble them up like I havent seen food for a month before taking any photos! The owner is funny, friendly and is very helpful with suggestions etc with the items on the menu. Sometimes he even has someone playing an instrument just by the door too! This place is so worth your money than going to a high end restaurant just to get some tiny portion because its fine dining experience. This is a must try spot especially if youre tired of eating white people food! Haha!

Really good Huevos Rancheros yesterday. I can back to try the Huevos Rancheros Mexicans and found it even better, through I liked the Huevos Rancheros as well. Came back again to try the tamales. I had the chicken which really tasty. Today I am having the pupusas. Again very tasty.
