New to Victoria and on the search for the best chicken sandwich. I've never heard of lee's before and decided to check it out as I was walking by. Got the spicy chicken sandwich. Overall it was pretty good! Only complaints would be it was really spicy at all, and could have used more than one pickle, but overall a great sandwich. The service was quite slow, but friendly. maybe understaffed? Had to wait over 5 minutes just to have my order taken at this location. Overall, not bad and I may be back again
Luv Lee's chicken but lately not so good in esquimalt. Chicken was greecy and can't tell or taste the difference between extra spicy and regular. I phoned in my order . 60 minutes later I arrive and the place is empty of customers yet my order is not ready. Cook is on the phone on private call. They say a 20 minute wait. Cook is on his phone the whole time casually working with one hand and taking his time. 35 minutes later I get my buckets. The duncan store is awesome and their chicken is 5 stars. Esquimalt store started out great but has had a downward plunge to the point I won't be visiting it again.
Got the box of six Lee's Famous chicken strips, and it was delightful crispy yet tender, though I was concerned the breading would get soggy in the fridge it actually got crispier. Good sized pieces and great flavor. 10/10
The food tasted great, good spices, flavour, & portions. However, our actual fried chicken was bone dry - like maybe it was in the fryer too long or it sat under the warming lamp for too long. It's a pity because the staff are super nice, the surroundings are 100% clean.
The chicken is great. The gravy reminds me of poi, taro sauce that offsets the strong taste of the other food, which is a nice pair. The fries were good and service was pretty good. The biscuit is really tasty but it seemed a bit too buttery, but it didn't taste as buttery as you would think. Nice packaging. A little pricy but it matches the quality.
What a rip off this place is. I paid 12 dollars for a wing meal, got 5 wings not 6 it came with no fries because now fries are a side dish. The buns are as had as rock. Since when are fries a side. Save your money. Not happy! You tell me if this pic is worth over 12 bucks!
Solid chicken burger! Fresh ingredients and very pleasant staff and service. It’s no Popeyes, but definitely above average for fast food chicken nowadays. Definitely worth a try!
Delicious best chicken in town no ride to Duncan now it’s just next door wooo Wedges are delicious.. and the gravy mmmm Go check em out they’re waiting for you oh yeah
Was pretty good, nothing to loose my mind over but for the price and convenience it definitely is 100x better then like chicken on the way or some shit like that. Would 100% eat again over getting fast food burgers type thing
So disappointed in the service
Horrible seating, cold, $17 a burger,
if you re looking for the best chicken on vancouver island look no further
Best chicken burg Ive had, their bucket chicken lacks juiciness and flavour, but otherwise, great place for chicken burger and fries.
Best fried chicken!
i had some chicken here, and in a few hours i had the runs twice
Good food good value
Possibly the best fried chicken Ive ever had. Biscuits, gravy and coleslaw were delicious too
first time there. Food was really good. Way better than KFC on Douglas, or in general.
enjoyed the chicken breaded breast stripes; I havent had chicken this wonderful in a long time. The service was speedy, and the staff was fantastic. Overall, this facility is excellent, and I would give it as many stars as possible. Please come if you enjoy crispy and flavorful chicken.
Great Food and they have a Military Discount
Hot and Fresh Chicken, great service with a smile from staff Marie
fantastic food and Service! the chicken strips are super crispy just how I like them, and the fries are some of the best Ive had! soft on the Inside, golden and crispy outside. the strips are decently sized, and I got a 2 piece strip meal including fries, a biscuit, gravy, 2 dipping sauces and a fountain drink for under $15 which is more than reasonable for the quality and fast service! food is a little salty, but thats what I was going for and expecting from a fried chicken place
Very well prepared, great chicken, best anywere, staff very nice, exceptionally polite
The chicken was ok but the pieces were very small not very good value for the money. The staff were friendly and the food was hot.
My gf and I had the chicken burger, fries and salads. The burger was hot but fries on cooler side. I wish we had wedges instead as I never realized they were the battered fries. We found the bun too big actually so just ate the burger. All in all the food is fresh, staff extremely friendly, bathrooms clean.
I didnt catch any of the staffs names but I went in on March 26th at 8pm. Food was fast and so good. The woman working the counter was excellent and gave fantastic service. They even turned the heat down when they saw us moving away from the vents. The bathroom was spotless as well and I got an extra peice of chicken in my meal. Hopefully the manager sees this and knows they have some quality employees.
Best chicken in the town
Good quality fresh ingredients and most of all friendly service 5 out of 5 will go again
Love the chicken and staff was friendly.
food was very amazing and specially service and staff mangement was so good n helpfull and friendly atmosphere
The chicken was one of the best chickens i ever had. It was crispy and flavourful. From now on this will be my comfort food for sure. The staff was really cheerfull which i really loved as well.
Both the cuisine and the customer service are very outstanding. Ive had an excellent experience at the restaurant. I hope to visit there soon.
They have the best chicken in the Victoria. The famous recipe. Also the management is so good they are very polite and friendly. Whenever i go there they treat the customer very well.
I enjoyed the chicken spicy tenders; even the gravy was delicious and flavorful. I havent had chicken this wonderful in a long time. The service was speedy, and the staff was fantastic. Overall, this facility is excellent, and I would give it as many stars as possible. Please come if you enjoy crispy and flavorful chicken.
Awesome food service
One of the best chicken places in Victoria!
Ive tried their chicken, and its quite impressive the quality is consistently excellent. Each time Ive ordered, the chicken has been notably fresh, never giving the impression of being stale or old. I strongly recommend giving it a try; its a culinary experience worth exploring.
Delicious Food and super nice & friendly staffs.
The chicken was amazing it was my first time and was so good and I am surely coming back again. The staff is really friendly and the washroom was clean as well..
best chicken
Best wings in town! Love the marination and seasoning of the chicken. Strongly recommend!
Awesome people! I will be back soon!
Food is delicious, nice juicy chicken!
They have good choices of food & friendly staff.
the chicken is savory. great costumer service from Jenna and Marie. thank you so much
I tried the food of this amazing restaurant and the food was very good and the restaurant was really good. I met with Jaspreet. She was the funniest and nicest girl at Lees restaurant. I recommend to others and get delicious food.
The chicken here is great, I had a wonderful experience and enjoyed the many different options. The service was incredible and the workers gave me a lot of suggestions as it was my first time here, I believe the girl helping me was named Kayla and she definitely made the experience better. Would recommend.
the food was adequate, no more. There are better places nearby. What put me off is that someone brought their bicycle into the restaurant and the staff did not care. A Bicycle in a restaurant... not my idea of sanitary, or acceptable at all.
We ordered a catering box, 50pc chicken and fries, for a retirement luncheon. Great food and service at a great price. Thank you!
I had been a Lee s Chicken fan for many years in Duncan and always had great food. I was so excited that they finally came to Victoria but my first visit when they opened was disappointing, small portions and the chicken was not moist. Since I have been going to Mary Brown s down the road their portions are very large and the meat is very moist, I keep going back and have never been disappointed. They also have many rotating deals all day that are cheap and still never cut back. After dozens of visits to Mary Brown s I finally the other day decided to give Lee s another chance hoping things had improved but again still disappointed with small portions of chicken and the fries tasted like grease, I never had that problem in Duncan. The only points I could give them was the batter and gravy were tasty. Sadly I am done with Lee s in Victoria and will continue my business with Mary Brown s. I also tried Popeye s Chicken in Langford and they were very good also.
Good chain chicken store. This location is mainly a to Go location with a small eat in cou ter with 3 or 4 stools. The chicken and chicken strip are very nice tasting. I love the meals as they come with your choice of side. In my opinion, the wedge fries are the ones to get. However, you can choose regular fries that are good, but who hasnt gotten tired of commercial French fries? Baked beans are a good choice , as well. Its very tasty. The meals also include gravy and a very nice warm biscuit. All in all, a great meal. I also ordered the chicken sandwich, and unfortunately, it is not my chicken sandwich of choice. It is served on a portugese bun, and it is not a base suitable for the lovely piece of chicken and has always had way too much mayonnaise trying to make the substantial bread more palatable. The bun is neither toasted nor even warm when I have eaten the sandwich. Better menu choices abound. The staff at this location have always been efficient and friendly. My order took a couple of minutes to prepare, but if it was cooked fresh and I did not wait long. Well worth the wait for a freshly prepared meal just for me.
Good prices good chicken huge portions. Will be back!
The food is definitely bussin. Their chicken is wayyyy better than kfc and for the price Id choose Lees any day over Popeyes kitchen burgers. Also idk if I was just lucky or if they make them good every time but the onion rings is just out of this world. Definitely recommend trying it out
I often order and as always chicken is freshly cooked and delicious !!! I love Lees Chicken Esquimalt !!!
Best chicken, kfc n marybrown smoking on the sidelines
This location has an ongoing and persistent problem with consistency. Yesterday we were there and the gravy was thick, flavorful and delicious. A true 10 out of 10! We returned today, and the gravy was less than flavorful and the gravy was runny. I do not know if the reason for the inconsistency is due to the fact that they do not have an owner present on a daily basis, or staff that perhaps are not as diligent as they should be? An excuse could have been made few months ago that they were new and had some staffing issues or food control issues. But now after they have been open this long, it is very dissapointing that they are unable to get their act together when it comes to the gravy! Popeyes Chicken certainly does not have this problem. We still drive to Duncan once in a while, and they do not have this problem at that Lees Chicken up there!
I got food poisoning from Lees today. I had it twice before this with no issues but today I had it for lunch, ate nothing else today and was sick a few hours later. Will not be eating here again, worst feeling.
The idiot behind the counter want to charge me $5 per chicken strips. Im not doing it
Idk what it is, I can eat street food in some random country and be fine but when it comes to this place it absolutely wrecks my stomach. Last time I come there is something wrong with this chicken.
So much cleaner than Duncan location, way friendlier staff and better food ! Glad we can get it whenever we re graving it and not just when we go up island
Ordered a couple chicken burgers, wedges, fries, chicken wrap, gravy and biscuits Best value, taste and service Worth a visit Food : 5/5
Far better than KFC
Do not bother ordering online it does not save you any time. Watched 3 others order and get served while waiting. Took 45 mins from placing online order to receive meal
New place . No seating but awsome fresh chicken
Very good
Amazing food. Sometimes service can be load barring but they are a new business in Victoria. Staff are generally nice and greeting
The chicken strips arent to bad. Love the honey mustard sauce. HOWEVER My issue with Lees Chicken in Esquimalt. Is everytime Ive been there. Ive paid for an item I didnt get. Last night it was the Coleslaw. The time before was extra dip, the time before that i was missing a peice of a chicken in a 4 piece meal. Im gonna guess profits must be great if you take peoples money and dont deliver the product. You can sell again and again. And because my orders are always missing something Im done supporting this local business.
My favourite chicken place. Excellent fries and gravy. Very nice people. So glad to have one in Victoria finally. Parking: Large lot. Wheelchair accessibility: Level entry with dbl doors.
Staff very good, chicken ok, not the best value not the best taste. Keep trying
Beyond disappointing. Especially after loving Lees in Duncan. Not sure where the disconnect is here, but the Lees in Duncan is delicious, and EVERYTHING from the macaroni salad, to the potato salad, to the gravy and chicken is bad here. Hopefully corporate looks at these reviews and pays a visit to figure it out. Also, the $3 ramekins of salad are embarrassing. Times are tough, I get it, but come on. The other option is $9. Figure out a middle ground because portions and prices are ridiculous.
Got these on skip because pf the hype. Spicy chicken is NOT spicy at all. Ive had Popeyes chicken spicier than this. And chicken is also not THAT good as everyone claims it to be.
Food was disgusting and not even what I ordered.
Great chicken but alway check your order before leaving. The fries are soggy but the potato wedges are really good.
FRIED CHICKEN!!! One of the single greatest food items on earth! Lees on Admirals Rd is a relatively new location (2022) and as such has both the growing pains of a new restaurant as well as the lack of workers. They are set up predominantly as take out. They have ample parking, but its not easy to get in or out of due to the busy traffic on Admirals Rd. The young lad who served me read and memorized his script well. I love the wedge fries potatoes and the spicy crispy bone-in chicken pieces..... But you cant have that without the gravy!! Right??! This place is quick, hot and tasty, grab a box and go to Saxe PT. Park, sit in the sun, and picnic on fried chicken. What could be better? Parking: Careful getting in or out of the parking lot. Lots of busy traffic at times.
Way better than KFC. Great customer service too
I live one block from Lees Chicken have been there at least fifteen times since they opened. Not one complaint on the food except for my last visit. I got home with chicken strips that were dried right out. I called the store right away and she offered to stay open a few more minutes if I wanted to come get some fresh ones. It was nine p m and I was settled in at home so I declined and said I would love to come another day and pick them up. Fast forward 3 days, I got them fresh and hot, and they were by far the best strips ive had there. Note to self: Dont go to Lees at closing time.
This place has THE BEST Chicken strips.. so crispy and juicy...yum yum ..Cant wait to try the Gravy... Parking: Great parking...lots of spots... Kid-friendliness: Everyone is welcome.. .
Just bought two #1 meal. Wedges and biscuit are good but the chicken sandwich is way too salty Also some parts of the chicken patty are chewy and looks old. We drove 30mins just to buy it. A little bit disappointed.
Its just a lobby with a counter and a few benchs to sit. Prices are higher than say KFC but chicken pieces are bigger and NOT GREASY, usually pretty quick service. Parking: 20+? Gott watch for it Smallish sign
If youre looking for deep fried chicken in Victoria, come here!!!
The better chicken!
Ur chicken and all is good.. why are u closed on a Friday night.10pm
The burgers are a gross, soggy mess.
Good God this place sucks. Chicken is always undercooked and makes you SICK after you eat it, potato wedges are unspiced and tasteless, they taste like what I imagine sponges taste like. Onion rings are dry, crusty, and bland. Their spicy sauce tastes like pepto bismol. Prices are outrageously expensive, small side being 5 dollars and small portion of, boney, chicken pieces is 13 dollars! If youre looking for a half decent place to eat fried chicken get Mary Browns or KFC. This place is trash.
Good prices, good food. Ill be back. Parking: Plenty of parking before you get to the front door. The place is set back from the road in the shadow of a new high rise. Food : 5/5 |
The chicken tenders are great, and good value with the family meal, with a lot of sides and options. My most recent visit was great, the food was hot and delicious and it came out promptly! Also, it is worth mentioning that the staff, specifically Sarah was super friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed my visit because of her smile. Thanks!
Really like there Fries , not small portions either which is nice
Drove in from Sidney specifically for Lee s. Got a 9 pc meal with coleslaw, wedges and gravy. Added 6 biscuits. Food tasted great, but the 9pc was 3 legs, 3 wings, a half keel, 1 rib and 1 thigh $44.09 for a 9 pc where 6 of the 9 are legs and wings? $51.38 total was very steep for what we got. Going to try Mary Browns down the street next time
Had spicy chicken sandwich and wedges. Great value.
Maybe it was an off day, but the chicken was so dry I could only eat one piece.
Ordered today. Excellent chicken and stellar customer service!! Thank you so much for taking care of a previous mess up!!
I was in there today for my first visit ever. My dad use to go to the one in Duncan back in the day and said it was amazing. Oh how I wish I could give you a five star rating. The customer service was great the cashier was very sweet and helpful. But I found the restaurant to be costly compared to other places I have been recently. Unfortunately The portion sizes were very small. Not exactly what I was expecting, I was still hungry after dinner. I ordered the two piece snack and the pieces of chicken were very small with a pinner side $10.99 The chicken strips were good not to spicy and super crispy best I have had in town, the biscuit was delicious (soft and fresh) the beans and mashed potatoes were fine. Nothing out of the ordinary and nothing special really small portions. Do not order small unless you want one bite lol The portion sizes are too small for my liking but other than that was very satisfied. I would like to see an app that gives you points for purchase. Other than that no issues and only seating area available outside to me thats not very inviting, covid is over bring back tables and customer service please. I might return might not we will see if there any changes or app upgrades etc
My coworker and I decided to try Lees last Friday. I ordered a chicken strip meal with fries as a side. He had a 3 piece combo. Our orders came up quick and we dug in. The first thing I noticed was the temperature of my chicken. It was lukewarm. It was not crispy. It had clearly been cooked earlier and left under a heat lamp or in a warming tray. Secondly, I d ordered spicy, it wasn t the least bit spicy. I had ordered 4 strips and they gave me 1 dipping sauce, so I ran out of sauce after 2 strips. So, a disappointing lunch. Whatever, I ll live. Or will I? A while after finishing our lunches we both began to experience what I ll refer to as tummy demons . These demons lasted throughout the afternoon and into the evening. Since we d both eaten lunch at Lees it was easy to determine who was responsible for our tummy troubles. Stick with Mary Browns to satisfy your fried chicken needs, Lees was beyond disappointing.
Got the standard chicken burger. Chicken was alright, but burger was lacking flavour. Nothing special. Onion rings were good! Food
First time eating here, was expecting alot better. Staff seemed indifferent, 15 minute parking is kind of a joke.. what if you are eating in? Now on to the real stuff... it took my system exactly 1 hour to go from Im hungry and I will eat lunch now, to, oh dear god my stomach, why God why. 1 hour later, I ate nothing else so I know it was the mediocre Chicken. I can think of atleast 7 different chicken places better than this one. Nuggets were tender atleast but flavorless, the breading barely stayed on.. buffalo sauce was basically vinegar, literally every pub ive ever been too does a better job with their wings so might wanna drop that pub style wings theyre sporting too... good lord it was just all around terrible, I was going to go back for a chicken sandwich if it were good but my colon has decided never again. Cheers.
Delicious and affordable!
I ve been wanting to try Lee s since we moved here a month ago. I was a little nervous after paying $35 for 6 strips, fries and gravy. They gave us 8 strips and the portion of fries was great! Crispy and tender strips, crispy fries and well seasoned gravy. I ll be back.
Today a lovely lady named Kat absolutely made my day when I came in for my dinner this evening! She has a vibrant inviting attitude, she made great recommendations which resulted in the best meal Ive had from here! Thank you for sharing your smile today, it was refreshing to see!
Parking sucks, hopefully theyll get it fixed. Walked in to busy staff but very friendly tho, made our order and they also made recommendations to us when we ordered. Waited 10 minutes and received it. Came home to good food and will come back.
Lees Chicken has always had great fried chicken and is easily the best fried chicken chain in town. No need to drive up to their Duncan location anymore. Reason for 4 stars is they forgot my dipping sauces. Otherwise the food is fresh, store is clean and the service is fast with plenty of parking outfront for its patrons.
Got some on Friday after work. Loved it. I got a mix of the regular and spicy, but preferred the regular. Nice fries and biscuit too.
Great chicken and service. Arrived at noon and was in and out in 5 minutes.
Came home and no fries
Wish I could give zero stars. I live next door an I tried them twice. Not worth it. Chicken tast good but not worth the price for what you get. First time they gave me somethin like popcorn chicken. Paid in the $30 range. Second time chicken alittle bigger but like next to no fries. I say order kfc wish I did
My family didn t find this to taste much different than KFC, a little bit more salty. it s nice to have another choice in town however, it is very expensive here. for a family of three it cost us over $58. And their meals don t come with drinks.
great staff
Chicken and Taters were tasteless Duncan location is better .
Best chicken in town. Taste justifies the price. 10/10 would visit again.
I can not stop thinking about the potato wedges! They are so good Duncan or Victoria! I found the gravy and chicken very salty. I couldnt stop think about it everytime I was taking a bit. Also, a little unfortunate that there is no dine in at this location. Other than that I have nothing esle bad to say. The chicken was cooked perfectly and service was great! The lady at the cashier was very nice and had a beautiful smile when giving my order to my partner and I.
Nice place, chicken are great, but i would susgest not to serve that little chicken part, its our second visit but every time there will be that small part mixed on the bucket meal. Btw i asked to change the small wierd part and the lady called her manager to confirm the request. And finally i got a normal size chicken Your food is great dont let ruined by bad customer service.
My chicken was very crispy, not that good overcooked?
Good chicken and sides, but overpriced.
The bone-in chicken were dry and not seasoned properly. The chicken bowl was extremely salty and cold. Would not recommend the Esquimalt location. If you want good chicken, go to the Duncan location!
I stopped in at the new Lees Famous Chicken today on Admirals rd. It was FANTASTIC!!!!!! The service was excellent and the food was perfect. It was hot, we loved the spicy chicken tenders, also loved the biscuits and gravy. Also just loved the Potatoe wedges. Everything at this location was spot on! We will be back, I won t be going to the KFC anymore!!!! This place rocks!!!!!
We stopped for Chicken to take home for dinner. Staff was very friendly. The chicken, fries and gravy were way to salty! I could not eat more than one piece of chicken. A lower salt option would have been way better. Also, the price is pretty steep!
Love the wedges and the famous chicken sandwich.
Stopped by there for a late lunch 3ish had the three piece chicken meal and not what I remember from before when I used to stop by at the one in Duncan. Sorry to say the chicken was way too salty and very dry, as the gravy was as well very salty. The muffin was fresh enough but tasted like it came out of a pre made package and the coleslaw was very creamy but soggy but still crunchy and cold which is why I gave it a two star rating. Sorry to say I ll not be going back there again. And to think all of this wonderfulness for a mere $16.00. Outrageous. Wasn t even worth $5.00. The staff were very friendly and helpful no complaints against them at all.
It was pretty good. Kinda wild that Lees used to be all over the place, then they went away for a while and now theyre back! Regardless, hot and spicy is generally preferable to their regular chicken.
Oh my god! Please listen to everyone elses reviews! The chicken and the gravy is EXTREMELY OVER SALTED!!! i dont understand why!! It saves the owner MORE money by putting LESS salt in their food as well as having MORE business by having customers ENJOY their meal and returning! Completely blows my mind. Yes they forgot one of my dips i chose, no big deal. The only thing i was able to scarf down was the coleslaw, and i HATE coleslaw, but it was the only thing that didnt have salt in it. I went to the one in duncan and loved the chicken bowl so i was excited to hear that another one opened up closer to home, but MAN was i disappointed... this was just as bad as every kfc in town! Except it was way overpriced ontop of that! The diarrhea will hit me soon and i wont forget you i promise.
Not sure why but this location is not as good as the one in Duncan. The pieces of chicken were small and more salty.
Great Chicken, maybe just turn the music down in the lobby.
Very salty not good
Unfortunately not nearly as good as the Duncan location, which I stop at whenever I drive though. I may give the Esquimalt location another chance, as I could imagine there might have been new staff working that day possibly.
The best chicken on town!!!! Fresh, crispy, and delicious!!!
Too salty and cold food Parking: Parking isnt the best for larger trucks Food : 1/5 |
Yummy chicken strips and fast, courteous service!
Chicken was way saltier then the one in Duncan location. No place to sit to eat, only 2 tables outside the door, had to eat it in my car. I wouldn t be back, first and last for this location. I ve rather drive to Duncan and enjoyed my chicken there instead. Mary Brown has opened now and just a few kilometres from them, heard they are better, but never missed KFC, always the best chicken. This location is convenient for the construction workers and people lived close by, not for me as other reviews mentioned, really salty, do better then that to keep Lee s Fried Chicken customers.
Great chicken, great staff. Our new go to for chicken !
This place is not good. The staff was very friendly but they screwed up our order and what we received was very bland, kinda like eating a sponge dipped in deep fryer oil. Will not be back.
So good! Great portions make this a good value for the money. Their idea of spicy is not very spicy at all, but who cares! Tasty, crispy, chicken!
So good . Nd great service. Nd if something is missing they will write in a book for next time.. Parking: Love how the parking is perfect that people come nd go nd there is always parking
Lees chicken was just as delicious as the ones Ive had on the mainland. The location was very well kept and clean. The best feature here was the staff, they were so friendly and understanding. Was a pleasure to visit, and when there was a delay on my spicy chicken they gave me a free side. Very awesome staff working here.
Having a parking space that can accommodate more than ten vehicles at a time, need to wait a long time for the order
Best chicken in town
Second time there and kitchen staff keep getting order wrong and shorting me items I paid for and on kitchen slip to read from. First time got all way home before realizing. Manager was amazing and took fast action to remedy. Second time, checked before leaving parking lot. Went back in and complained.
No flavour except salt.
Good quality chicken and was quick.
Ordered this from DoorDash and liked it so much I decided to leave a review on the ol Google. To put it shortly, the KFC here in Victoria is absolute garbage, right? Well this Lees Chicken is *exactly* what I want from KFC/how I remember it tasting. Their batter isnt soggy, and its absolutely tasty. Their wedges (taters) are absolutely awesome -- and their gravy doesnt get cold in 3 minutes flat unliked the aforementioned Chicken Joint from a certain State in America.
A good little place to get lunch...
They were busy but fast. Famous recipe chicken was great, as were wedges and onion rings. Welcome to Esquimalt. See you again soon :)
First experience walking into this new establishment and the employees standing around taking selfies. Very young crowd at the front felt like they were staring at me to hurry up and order. (Even if it wasnt their intention making it feel very awkward.) Less people up front. Less on their phones. Introduce a little more professionalism to the cashiers. Lees has been around a long time. The product is good. Some times a bit salty but some prefer it that way.
The chicken both spicy and not taste bland, sad and pathetic.
New place in our neighbourhood so excited to try it tonight. Ordered a 6 piece family meal with an extra side (mac & cheese). I asked them to leave out the wing and add an extra thigh, and told them Id pay more - not a problem. It came to $33 and change. Got home - NO extra side in the bag ($2.79) - they forgot to put the mac & cheese in. Id spend more in gas going back to make it right. Opened the box of chicken and got 1 thigh, 1 breast, 2 backs and 2 legs. Ive had better tasting fried chicken at a burger joint. Got the onion rings as a side (mac & cheese was the extra side) - they were meh. A&W onion rings are WAY better. Will NOT visit this place again - Kentucky Fried Chicken still wins for fast food fried chicken in Victoria. Absolutely NOTHING special about the place. The gal at the counter who served me was a sweetheart. Save your money and eat somewhere else. Parking: Lots of parking.
Ordered online and waited the 30 minutes before going in only to find out they let someone else take my order, then waited another 30 minutes for the order to be ready, once I got my order the fountain pop machine had no carbonation and after the employee went to fix it 3 different times it still didn t work, it ended up leaving with 4 drinks with just syrup. My coworker also had a separate order that got given to someone else. Doubt I ll go again. Food was good but cold by the time I chose to leave without a drink Manager was very nice might I add.
I decided to try these two new chicken restaurants in my neighbourhood - lee s famous chicken in Mary browns chicken. I have to say Mary browns, deserves more than five stars. The place is lined up out the door all day and night, and that is for a reason. The chicken burger and poutine I got from Lee s famous chicken was lukewarm and has been sitting out for quite some time. It wasn t fresh made to order. Mary browns chicken, fries, burgers strips, gravy is fresh, piping hot and you could tell the care & quality put in to the food Lee s famous, you need to switch into high gear, cause you re losing the race
The food can be good but they made my takeout order war than scheduled and left it out for who knows how long. I hope they get it dialled in soon!
First Impressions are Not Good based on price alone! Strips can be placed in Orders of 3 or 1 Just Strips with No Meal, Frys or Drink 6 strips cost just under $20
Best Fried Chicken on the Island.
Definitely had better chicken. Its good but not great.
Location is pretty small, not really meant to eat in there I figure. Ordering process straight forward, and delivered pretty quickly. Ive had Lees Chicken at the Duncan location twice, and this is the first here in Esquimalt as they must have opened recently... I like it! I have been looking for good Fried Chicken alternatives for years besides KFC (which I still enjoy) and this place and Mary Browns opened up around these parts so its cool to have more choice. Parking is adequate. Nobody was there when I arrived (meaning customers) but soon after a whole bunch of people followed my lead and more people started to order. I got a 9 piece chicken box with half spicy half regular all dark meat, and its very delicious! Would recommend and will go back there again.
Tried Lees chicken...nice meal. yahoo chicken is not over spiced like that other place potaoe wedges are yummy and Cole slaw is fresh crisp and healthy. I see it is on Esquimalt but worth the trip. Food
It has potential to be good but its clear that nobody cares about quality. Two pieces of chicken were extremely dry causing them to be inedible. Staff is very robotic and appear to be depressed.
