19 Main St, Victoria, PE C0A 2G0, Canada
Located in beautiful Victoria By The Sea, offering delicious casual food & drink, fun and relaxed atmosphere, stunning views and exceptional customer service.
On my quest for the best lobster rolls in our trip to Prince Edward Island, this one at the Lobster Barn in Victoria was by far the best. Easily a pound of lobster meat over flowing the bun. Exceptionally delicious flavours. And I had tried many. Not cheap but definitely worth it!
I've enjoyed PEI mussels for years, but to be ON PEI and enjoy them straight from the water....magnificent! The portion was huge and delicious, and the bread they were served with was perfect! That blueberry and cranberry salad on the side was a taste treat only to be experienced in person - WOW!
It was delicious but very pricey. A lobster roll with upgraded side salad was $39. The salad was good, but not worth a $7 upcharge. Still, it was a great meal. The sourdough was amazing.
While exploring PEI, we came across the Lobster Barn and decided to stop by for a quick snack. The place offers both takeout and dine-in options, and we opted for takeout. We ordered the seafood chowder for $20, and it was really good! It had corn and a variety of other ingredients, and I definitely enjoyed it. The biscuit that came with it was great, too. The staff were super quick—our chowder was ready in just a couple of minutes. Even though we weren’t dining in, they kindly let us use the washroom, which was appreciated. The location was convenient, and the overall experience was pleasant. While $20 might be a bit pricey for chowder, the taste and service made it worth it. I’d come back for the chowder again!
This is the type of small, out of the way little shed on a wharf restaurant you tell all your friends about. The decor was warm and cozy, very quaint in a small town on the water. I'll make no bones about an important point right away if you're looking for a lobster sandwich, they can be PRICEY! We all wanted a lobster roll before leaving the island. They're rolls are priced at market price which in our case was $32 each. Ouch. That's a lot for a small sandwich and a side. NOW, THAT SAID... the small sandwich contains probably a pound of big, lobster meat pieces, there are a few different options (we tried the original and the warm buttered) they all come on a nicely toasted bun. We actually came to the conclusion the best would be the warm buttered with the homemade mayo on top but I digress. These were definitely among the best, if not the very best lobster roll I've ever eaten. The fries were very tasty large cut, even the potato salad was pretty good. Treat yourself. Spend the money on a sandwich you'll remember. It's worth it.
We tried different lobster rolls. It was really delicious. Good portion sizes as well. Fries and potato salad was really good too.
Place was beautiful. Lobster roll was decent but more so the views around Victoria were the most beautiful. Not too far from Charlottetown, great stop on a drive.
This was always our favourite restaurant while vacationing on PEI. Last year we knew there was a change of management and were hopeful that the experience would be similar. Sadly it was not - the fish tacos were half coleslaw and my husband’s burger was much smaller than the one served to our friend. Yesterday we decided to try again. I confirmed with the waitress that the new menu included tacos without cabbage and my hubby once again ordered the burger which was “similar to a child’s meal at McDonald’s” in his opinion. The tacos were very skimpy with the fish and when I mentioned that to our waitress she agreed. I’m showing my plate as it was presented (with the lime) as well as tacos from lunch the day before at a restaurant on the north shore. Same price and similar harbour location.
Amazing selection of food and a great selection of craft beers. Service was extraordinary Kid-friendliness: Many young children enjoying their meals, very family friendly
Nicely decorated and the lobster grilled cheese was really good
Top notch all around. Must visit.
Great atmosphere with great food and staff. All the menu we ordered were delicious including the lobster poutine! and staff were very friendly. Hope it stays as it is when I visit PEI next time!
Less luster than expected. A number of the menu items were crossed out (including the lobster dinner - which is what we came for) Apparently they were closing for the winter the next day. Food was ok...
Very nice place on the coast. Nice views from the restaurant. We ordered lobster caesar salad, clam chowder, lobster roll, shrimp po boy, carrot cake and coconut cream pie cheesecake. Everything was amazing! The food came out incredible quick and the service was very friendly.
Great food, great location, friendly staff. Hopefully I can eat here again
The waitress was super helpful in picking out a drink and teaching me how to dissect the lobster. Being from a small town in the Midwest, it was my first time having a lobster. Awesome people, great views, fantastic food. Kid-friendliness: The waitresses were all tickled by our 9mo son, very helpful with him!
I absolutely love they offer gluten free dishes. Thanks a lot! The lobster rolls are delicious. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
After hearing good things about Lobster Barn, I was excited to make the drive and try it. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. The only good part of the experience is when I called to make a reservation. The staff member on the phone was very nice and accommodating. But things took a turn when we arrived. We were thankfully seated quickly but waited a while to get our drink order taken let alone our food order. The drinks were just okay. Our server was not very friendly and never once came to check on us or ask how we were enjoying our food or if we needed another drink, etc. The only time we saw the server was to take our order, give us drinks and to give us the bill while other servers dropped off the food. We didn t have the opportunity to voice any of our concerns as the waitress didn t pay attention to our table at all. We ordered the coconut curry mussels as an appetizer. The sauce was flavourful but the mussels were not washed and covered in sand. Could not take one bite without a mouthful of sand! It was disgusting and ruined the experience. For entrees we ordered the original lobster roll with potato salad and the scallop basket with wharf fries. The lobster was so overcooked it was rubbery and was mixed with a mayo that tasted like pure sugar that made your stomach turn. The Scallops were also overcooked. Due to lack of service and the lack of quality of food we won t be back. $100+ bill is not worth it for the service and food you get. Don t recommend at all!
Amazing food and friendly staff!!
The coconut curry mussels and the buttery lobster rolls were very yummy, we only wish the rolls had more meat in them.
Great family party....helpful staff...decent prices Parking: Easy to parkkid food options ava Food : 4/5 |
Amazing food, staff, and place! Must go if youre in the area. Vegetarian options: They did have a black bean burger. Food : 5/5 |
Lobster dinner $56. Served cold from the fridge, uncut apparently. Plastic knife and fork provided so good luck eating it. This was during lobster harvesting season. Potato salad best I ve ever had. The miss working the window was brusque. Was hoping for more flavor? Freshness? Value? Don t know. Disappointed for lobster bought from the dock where they unload the boats.
Great place for nice dinner while in area of Victoria. Staff great. Head server very nice to chat with. Food was yummy!! Great portions. Great view. Recommend.
Classic lobster roll. Excellent with potato salad.
Characterful place on the pier at Victoria with good food and great ambiance
Very friendly, exceptional cuisine
Our first time here and i celebrate my birthday here at lobster barn with my family..the ambience is great, nice people around Very Good service and the food it was fantastic and we love it..surely we will be back on this place..Thank You for that Wonderful experience
Lobster roll was a 5 star best so far in PEI. Service was a 2 star. Owner should explain to the young take-out window girl that her mood will have an effect on a customer s experience.
Visiting from Ontario and read about this place in the Food Network. Had the claw lobster roll and it was absolutely amazing! You MUST stop here if you are in PEI
Great service and lobster roll
Staff were so lovely, the food was amazing. I loved the vibe and the location as well. I can t wait to come back here and get some more crab dip!
The food was good. Fish & chips were better than the lobster to us.
Good rental with magnificent views! Food is ok, good service.
Ordered fish & chips and fish tacos online.. portion for fish & chips very small and only one piece of haddock for $22.. not good value.. disappointed as we are regulars and will not be returning.. there are many other restaurants that offer a larger portion for the same price
The first time we ate here, the food was amazing. This time- it was mediocre. The service was good. The views are spectacular.
Looked forward to having the Lobster Roll, which I make myself occasionally. First time there since it was taken over by new management a few years ago. Their lobster didn t have the usual Lobster taste I m used to. It was bland in flavour. Lemon drizzled over it ,helped some. So for $32.00 , it was disappointing. Waitress aware of our comments but nothing further noted. Waitress staff all young but fairly efficient for their age ! The new decor looked good . The comfort of the chair haven t improved, as they are either older wooden chairs or steel chairs.
Fast service, excellent food. Overall great experience.
Classic Lobster roll was good but the claw version with dill is better. A very good roll but I ve had better = little expensive for what it was. Fries are incredible though. Literally classic PEI in 500m^2. Picturesque and worth the stop. Swimming right off the wharf after the roll made up for the price.
My brothers and I all got the lobster roll, very good. Wish I wasnt here during peak season only because they jacked up the menu items.
Crabs in various versions, but not only...
great food, friendly staff
Amending our 5 star review from last year when we visited to sadly a 2 star review for these reasons: 1. The lobster roll was overpriced and not at all as fresh as others we have had. You can go across the way to Richards for a better one and it is cheaper. 2. They got rid of their famous lattice fries and replaced them with overly salty and seasoned spiral fries which also cost an extra 6 dollars as an upgrade for your side. Not worth it. Dont do it! 3. The Paloma (alcoholic beverage) was sour and lacked the authenticity of a true Paloma. 4. The lobster mango salad was like eating a bowl of leaves. I dont eat seafood and was hoping to order it without lobster and the manager wouldnt accommodate with a price change. Ordered it anyway and gave the lobster to my hubby but the lettuce was more bitters vs. typical mixed greens. They have changed their lettuce source as well. I needed extra dressing and was charged 2 bucks for a tiny bit more as well and was not informed it would cost me or else I would not have gotten it. 5. The lobster grilled cheese used to be a whole sandwich with 4 ounces of lobster but this has changed to half a sandwich and its only a few dollars less. Our server was nice when she was around but not overly attentive. Seeing as we only visit once a year we will likely skip this spot moving forward as we believe it isnt as great as it used to be.
Great place to eat!
The food here is incredible!!! The lobster rolls and lobster poutine were AMAZING!!! You absolutely need to eat here....seriously!!!
The seaside restaurant that everyone can imagine with its exceptional decor and food. To put on your itinerary!!!
Rarely do new owners improve on an established restaurant. But the new owners have managed just that. They added more space and a bar.
Took my family there while on Vacation this summer. And the lobster rolls yummy and the portions are perfect Kid-friendliness: Great family spot
My friend wanted to go out to have a lobster meal while she was on the island. Having gone there several times a few years ago before it changed hands I suggested Lobster barn .the meal was a 150$ disaster. She ordered cold lobster which said it came with hot butter to dip in. The butter they gave her was Ghee and it wasn t hot. It was like dipping lobster into oil with no flavour. I ordered wharf fries and a chicken burger and was brought chicken fingers .I had to wait another 15 minutes for a burger while my friends started eating. After a while I informed the waitress I would just be getting the fries and to forget the burger and 2 min later it was shoved in front of me. I did eat it and it was meh over cooked frozen chicken patty, but the bun was good. My other friend got the fish tacos and they were the skimpiest fish tacos you ve ever seen with more ice burg lettuce than actual fish :( we paid the bill and told them we d be heading to Richard s across the way to get actual food and that we were very disappointed in the service and the food. We will not be returning to lobster barn. If you re look for good food I fully recommend the fish tacos at Richard s! They are AMAZING!! Also one other note for the owners .. with so many people allergic to ragweed .maybe find a different flower to put in your vases on the table.
Had a chicken Ceasar salad, had no flavor and most of the lettuce was the stock and for 24.00 dollars totally not worth it, dont recommend this place at all, very dissatisfied.
They brought me the bill halfway through my meal and not letting me enjoy my meal with friends. Food was ok.
Very nice little restaurant. We took our food to take out and ate outside at their picnic table. Delays still long but we were in tourist period. A meal for two cost us over $60. Its still expensive but the food is excellent!
My husband and I stopped in for lunch with our 11 month old. We were greeted and seated immediately. I had The Claw with potato salad and my husband had the lobster grilled cheese with fries. The Claw was described as a more flavourful sandwich, however I found it quite lacking. The lettuce was a single piece of iceberg and the bun... Oh the bun. It was a hot dog bun! For the nice atmosphere, I think a better quality bun, some locally sourced micro greens, and a little seasoning would make this top notch. I found this very confusing as my potato was much too flavourful. It was mustardy, and honestly, so spicy. I am adventurous and love flavour, but I didnt finish this. My sandwich price was listed as market price, but at no point was I told what that was. I thought max $27. Oh no. That was $32! Yikes. For iceberg lettuce and a hot dog bun, that seems a bit obscure. My husbands sandwich, with a little salt added, was really good! Perhaps the lobster is just steamed when cooked in the kitchen, but it would really benefit from a salted ice water bath after cooking. Service was very good and the restaurant was clean. Would try somewhere else next time Kid-friendliness: My 11 month old was greeted and kindly tended to. They dont have crackers, but happily gave us a biscuit for her. Other children were there as well and took advantage of the childrens menu. Childrens menu items start at $13 I believe and includes a beverage
Ive been going here for 7 years. I only ordered the lobster roll and potato salad. And this year it was not the same the lobster was rubber, the clam chowed was sea food chowed unpleasant the potato salad used to be like home made now tasts like store bought. It was a shame that new owners changed this place, not going back
Didn t have a reservation. Waited 45 min on a Wed evening. Food was good and staff were friendly.
Travelled to PEI for a week exploring the island. Had many different lobster rolls over the island. Great tasting roll, but was priced quite high and didn t have the option to buy just the roll for a cheaper price. Richard s across the street was cheaper and better quality.
Rustic and authentic! Great food and friendly staff! Vegetarian options: There is a black bean burger - the only veg main dish - but delish - and it comes with a non-dairy barn sauce that is very yummy! Order without cheese to make it vegan :)
Went to the Lobster Barn for a late lunch and I love the renovations that the new owners did with the place! I had the Original Lobster roll with fries and my husband had the fish and chips. Both dishes were delicious and our server was wonderful! I definitely recommend this restaurant in Victoria By the Sea. Will return hopefully soon
The place is lovely, inside and outside. The lobsters are very good. They serve whole lobsters in the sandwich, so, you can really taste the lobster. And their fries are exceptionnels. Never tasted fries like these before. Even my mother who doesn t like fries usually, really got jalouse when she tasted mine. The service was not so bad, but just we finished eating, immediately we were asked to pay the bill, which is not welcoming. You do not go to a restaurant to eat only, you also need to rest, talk, laugh, build memories, so making you understand that you need to leave as soon as you finish the food is not very elegant.
Our now favourite restaurant on the island. Everything was delicious.
Really nice restaurant on the water. Lobster roll was great and the potato salad side was really good. The veggie burger and fish tacos were also great. The service was also super friendly and great atmosphere.
Great lobster rolls
Great little place, great vibe, good food that doesnt break the bank!
Nice little restaurant in Victoria by the sea. We ate outside, shaded terrace with mosquito net. The lobster roll was delicious and so were the fries. The childrens menu was a little expensive for what it included (1 hot dog + fries for $12).
A fantastic restaurant with delicious food and spectacular views!
Very disappointed by quality of Loster Roll $29@ (additional $5 with side salad) but no taste of freshness at all. Cannot be compared with those at Lunenburg or Halifax at all with lower and same price. Flakes only come from lobster clamps. Bun was toasted well & sauce was fine. Fish & chips are better in quality and would recommend.
Amazing atmosphere, spectacular service and fabulous food!! The staff was so friendly and efficient, the food was absolutely delicious.
The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. There was little to no parking when we got there and the restaurant wasnt full. Other than having to park down the street, everything was perfect.
The lobster roll is the best! Even with the gluten free bun! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available! Food : 5/5 |
We were driving along the coast line and ran into The Lobster Barn. Delicious! I had the mussels with white wine and my wife had Cranberry and Blueberry salad. Everythig was fresh and with lots of foavor
Very nice place to eat because its on the waters edge. Good price for seafood. I ate the seafood poutine wow it was delicious. Potatoes yum sauce made from seafood, cheese curds and what about seafood on that. It s a wow and rewow.
Great experience! Great food, some good vegetarian choices also. I had the black bean burger. Fries were the coated crispy fries. Good seafood options and cool location! Reservations were helpful for larger groups (8). Some good kids options!
Awesome spot. Loved the lobster roll, found it to be a fair price compared to other areas on the east coast I had around the same time, but far better. Plenty of spots to park. Any complaints about a lack of parking are really just about a restaurant being popular. Black bean burger was also great. Restaurant is simply high quality, strongly recommend.
This was a busy evening and the patio was available. We had a great time. They run out of full lobsters. The chowder is worth the time.
Nice, but people I was with that have frequented the place, said they were disappointed
The lobster claw did not look like other patrons shown. The portion was very small and shredded that it didn t look like a claw. The same with the butter lobster roll. Not very generous for $29 each. Very disappointed. Pro tip. Be sure to ask how many ounces if it s lobster or pieces there are.
Lobster Barn used to be one of the best restaurants in PEI. This is the 2nd season with new management. I thought that last year they did a good job. I have to say that this year Im not impressed. I realize that all restaurants face cost inflation and they have to manage it with a combination of higher prices and / or smaller portions. We had the lobster roll and I think that in an effort to make the meal appear bigger than it was the now smaller hotdog bun is filled with iceberg lettuce so that the small amount of actual lobster meat sits high. Without the lettuce to support the lobster I think that the lobster would look pretty lonely. The combination of lettuce & lobster made this the 2nd worst lobster roll that Ive had in my life. There wasnt anything else on their revised menu that appealed to us. I think that this is a great spot for tourists who might only visit once.
Though pricey at $29 for a lobster roll + potato salad, the lobster amount was much more than many lobster rolls in other tourist trap places. The salad was also quite nice.
While passing through, we had lunch and it was a treat! A magnificent setting, original and typical decor. The service was perfect, the staff very welcoming and friendly, very kids friendly, I highly recommend!
Cute restaurant with great food! Particularly liked their fries.
Beautiful view from the restaurant. Great atmosphere and decor. Staff were friendly and accommodated my reservation request for a table by the window and accessibility needs. Lobster rolls served warm, which is a delightful option over the cold ones. Delicious fries - full of potato flavour, not too salty, deep-fried to golden crisp. My family and were looking forward to dinning here and we were not disappointed!
One of my favourite restaurants in PEI. Stopped here on our way to Charlottetown. Great location! The food was delectable. I had the gluten-friendly lobster roll and fries. The potato salad is not GF, but my daughter said it was delicious. Wish we lived closer! Dietary restrictions: Gluten-friendly options available.
Such a great meal. Seafood bake was delicious. I often take visitors here when they come to pei and it always amazes ! Well done. Love the New look and the good is as delicious as ever. Service is great as well even when it s super busy! Great food, water view. A delight!
Amazing food. Highly recommemd it
Large and very tasty portions! What a cute place! Highly recommend
Lobster Barn absolutely lives up to its reputation! I treated myself to the warm butter lobster roll and fries, absolutely scrumptious. I really liked the atmosphere, very beachy-casual, and the service was excellent and helpful.
Great food and service. Views are wonderful
Lobster roll was excellent, but the side Caesar salad was an additional $5 (not mentioned when ordering). When we opened to eat the salad, absolutely no dressing. . Thought it was expensive.
One of the best lobster rolls on the island, paired with crispy fries or potato salad. Such a special treat or a daily snack
Everything was great. The Lobster Roll was out of this world. We love the vibe of the restaurant and really surprised the decor inside.
Nice restaurant for lobster.
Gluten free options with separate deep fryer if you ask. The GF fish and chips were nice, came with Panko crusted fish and Wharf fries (no chili lime mayo). The deep fried dishes needed more coleslaw. The lobster rolls were the big hit - highly recommend. They kids dishes were 15$ for a small hotdog and fries and they didn t clarify that the 4$ kids drink was extra. Better value in kids burger. Ask for the patio- it s waterfront, shaded, and protected from the wind. We d go back for the lobster rolls on the patio. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options not listed but available (see pic) with separate deep fryer if you ask.
This place was great, honestly the best seafood chowder Ive ever had! The lobster roll was a bit too salty for my tastes, but the lobster was still so fresh and juicy, I would definitely go back!
Recommended for the lobster. The lobster was -as others said at the table- very nice and fresh. There was only one vegetarian option available that I got (black bean burger) and it wasn t well prepared. Not sure what was the mix, but it made my stomach sick.
The Best Lobster Roll Period!
Since new owner, not so impressed. Looong wait, we ended up eating at bar, we had a show to go in Summerside, and almost were late for it. Bartender very personable, but they ran out of mint.. Food okay-ish, not quite the same, fish and chips..will see if we go back, this restaurant was one of our favorites...will give it another go, but if not positive, will not be a frequent flyer..lol
If I could give the Lobster Barn 20 Stars, I would.
We grazed across the menu with the lobster poutine, the garlic & wine mussels, and the original and butter lobster rolls. Everything was excellent, and the lobster rolls are fresh, not drowning in butter or mayo, and very substantial. I d order them again, but I think with the green salad instead of french fries.
The best lobster roll you ll ever have! Tons of fresh lobster overflowing from the soft buttery bun, and the homemade mayonnaise is incredible! One of my favourite restaurants ever, and if I could give them 10 starts I would. The staff is always so kind and friendly, and the atmosphere is amazing. Thank you Lobster Barn!
The lobster was fresh, the mussels were perfectly cooked, the staff was kind! It was busy, but for good reason! PINA COLADA WAS TO DIE FOR (surprisingly!) Decorations were cute too! Definitely try to get a reso if you come here!
Food was WONDERFUL!! My sister and I were up from Massachusetts and Oklahoma, respectively, and really wanted fresh seafood. This place had the most AMAZING lobster poutine, which was so big we had 2 meals from it. We came back to finish our vacation on the beach in NH, and everyone recommended we try the local favourite place here, and after eating at your location, we were disappointed in the NH restaurant. You have truly spoiled us for seafood!! 100/10 would recommend to anyone who loves great fresh seafood, friendly service, and HUGE portions!
Soooooo disappointed with the Caesar salad. Paid an extra $6 for chicken which didnt amount to one strip. Basically a container of lettuce. Ill stick with the Blue Goose and Sams who never disappoint!
Delicious food, vast gluten free menu including fries, amazing lobster rolls and warf fries My new happy place while on vacation!
On our quest of lobster rolls, Lobster Barn is definitely in the top 3. Its the only place that offers salad as a side! And oh what a salad it is! If salad tasted like this all the time, everyone would be ordering it! Beautiful fresh tender lettuces, drooling as Im writing about it, totally lovely. We had the lobster poutine, OMG, we left some of the fries so we could eat our lobster rolls, but what a fun dish to share at the table! Nice execution! Tasefully decorated, friendly staff. Loved it so much, were going back on the way home, need I say more?
Probably the best lobster roll I had in PEI and equally on par with the one at Richards (but not the Richards location across the street from lobster barn). I felt the Barn was quite generous with the amount of lobster they put in the roll. My only knock on the atmosphere is that if you cant get seating inside since its usually busy and full), youll have to wait to grab one of the benches outside if you get take out and after others are done with eating. Or you can sit on the ledge next to the water. But this isnt any fault of the restaurant.
The best lobster poutine Ive tasted in this summer, 2023!
If you are looking for a great seafood place, I highly recommend the Lobster Barn! Service is great. Prices are fair. The view is unmatched. If you can, ask for a table on the patio where you have a direct view on the ocean and its breeze. Worth the trip!
Crab dip was blah... I had to add alot of salt... too cheesey The kettlechip were okay... but again a bit blah... they also needed salt... My mom had the burger. Everything on it tasted great, but the meat itself had a taste she didnt care for. The fries were okay... Dietary restrictions: They do have a gluten-free menu with quite a selection...
Huge portions, great staff. Very good prices. Winner all around.
Lot of deep fried food options. From the health option there was only a salad and I added a lobster meat . Fish was too burn in fish and chips dish . The service was great , the food came fast.
We got the take out from here, and the food was phenomenal. Very generous portions, with loads of lobster in the lobster rolls. The lobster poutine and wharf fries were out of this world!
Top three fries of my life
A really nice place where we were able to taste lobster rolls with a beautiful view of the water. Pleasant and fast service. The home fries are good. Prefer the classic roll is much better than the cooked one, much too salty for our taste.
Awesome
Good food, very basic ambiance and normal service, I.e. waitresses who took orders and delivered them .
Great food and service. Very helpful staff!
Went for lobster dinner and ended up getting seafood chowder for a starter...so good we went back the next night for more. Great staff, great service, great food.
Lobster roll was fantastic! Got to eat outside with a great view and service was top notch! Highly recommend!
Great lobster meals in a great setting. Worth the visit.
Ashley was outstanding as our server. She completely understood our food allergies and was very accommodating. This place is absolutely amazing. Its sits directly on the ocean side where you can watch the tides come in or out. Food is bang on and delicious. Highly recommend visiting if you are in PEI.
This is one of the best spots for a good lobster roll on PEI. The lobster was sweet, paired with the perfect amount of mayo. The sandwich was massive and quite decently priced compared to other places. Plenty of meat, on a soft buttered bun. As much as the sandwich was great, the fries took it to another level. They were perfectly salted and crisp. I guess it s PEI s charm with its fresh potatoes. Honestly, the best fries I ve had in my life. Try the wharf fries. You will not be disappointed.
sooo goood
There is areason this place is booked up with reservations! Great food and service. The prices are very affordable. I had a very comparable meal in Acadia, Maine for double the price. The mussels are phenomenal+
Great little gem of a place to visit. Lobster rolls are amazing!!! Recommend Food
Seafood chowder out of this world. Amazing service .
Beautiful location, food was good but too much on plate if thats a bad thing
Great restaurant - awesome selection of food.
Excellent food and service! The best place flot have lobster roll ! Don t forget the coconut cheese cake Vegetarian options: Veggie burger Parking: More than 30 .
Lobster Poutine..! Never had anything like it, incredible. Great atmosphere, great food
The view was great because it was right next to the sea. I had a lobster roll and a steak sandwich. The meat of the lobster went very well with the bread, and the French fries were fresh and seasoned just right. The soft texture of the steak and its unique chewy texture went fantastically well with the mushrooms and onions. The huge salad that came with it was also delicious, healthy and fresh. Definitely recommend!
Excellent, delicious food - highly recommend!
Definitely the best dinner we had on our trip. The staff were also very accommodating. Highly recommended!
The best lobster roll in PEI.
Great white wine mussels. Lobster roll was just ok compared to others across Atlantic Canada @$29 each.
Went after a day in PEI and I ve got to say the lobster rolls are 10/10. They are very with the amount of lobster on the rolls and the homemade mayo is really the cherry on top. We were seated outside with a view of the water and the sunset, service was excellent.
We had a wonderful lunch , awesome service
I was the only one in line for takeout and it took 10 minutes before someone came up to me. First time eating there since the change of ownership. You get your money worth with the portion sizes. I got the fish and chips and the fries were good although the fish tasted like burnt toast and couldn t taste any of the fish.
We really had a good experience at Lobster Barn. The food was delicious, the lobster was very fresh and the service was excellent. We highly recommend. The water view was fabulous.
Great place to eat. Portion size was good.
Amazing lobster rolls and fries. Even though it was the best lobster roll I ever had I still could not stop eating the fries.
Very friendly and quick service. The food was delicious, particularly the fried chicken sandwich and the fries! The portion sizes were very generous and the prices were reasonable as well! Would definitely go back there.
They got rid of their sticky toffee pudding under their new management. Disappointing.
Decided to get take out. Wharf fries were great. Sea food chowder is quite thick and filling. Kids loved their menu items of burger/hot dog with fries and a juice box
Hate to do this, but weve been waiting days to hear back from the restaurant manager about our experience here Monday night. We had a good experience aside from the spoiled lobster that was served. Excellent service, great atmosphere, the coconut cream cheesecake was devine, and the dill potato salad was lovely! The lobster however was mushy and smelled and tasted of ammonia which we later learned was a sure sign of it being spoiled and unsafe to eat. After learning this, we returned immediately to the restaurant where I spoke to two staff members who apologized profusely, asked for my contact information, and said they would have the manager call me the next morning. Still waiting. This was an anniversary dinner and we spent the rest of the evening feeling Ill and disappointed in our sole lobster supper experience on the island. We have family on the island who recommended this place without knowing they were under new ownership, and have no begun to spread the word not only of the spoiled lobster, but of the poor treatment once they were made aware.
Good service n food
Staff was more interested in hanging out in the corner together. Server was unfriendly. Drove out of my way to go to Lobster Barn because of their good reputation and was terrible disappointed.
The lobster rolls are phenomenal
Absolutely amazing!!! Food, service, everything!!! The best mussels weve ever had and lobster roll was great too. Definitely remember.
We 4 visited on a busy Thursday evening. We didnt have reservations but they were able to accommodate us anyway- - - for which we were grateful. I am always impressed when the waitress memorizes our order. She did and there were no mistakes. Food was excellent. I would definitely come back.
Amazing lobster roll
Huge lobster rolls by the side of the sea. What s not to love? Service was quick and attentive, food was delicious, reasonably priced. Highly recommend.
Great spot! Buttered lobster roll was amazing! And the raspberry mule was spicy and delicious.
You can t beat the view!! Great place to eat for seafood. But you might want to make reservations, they are a very popular and busy place!
Expensive for the little on the plate Disappointed but impeccable service.
The lobster poutine at the Barn is next level!! .simply fantastic!! bring your appetite and dig in to the bottomless bowl! This will be a regular when we are on the Island!!
Please do the universe justice and try the sourdough. The rest is just as youd expect from a location like this - perfection. We also preferred and enjoyed the patio seating. Thank you
Super nice, located in a beautiful little village. Not to be missed.
Fantastic service and great quality food, large quantities of food. Loved the atmosphere. Would highly recommend!
Great food and absolutely huge portions. We started with the lobster poutine which was good but we ended up pretty full even before our main courses arrived. The family got to try a variety of seafood, which we all enjoyed. Definitely recommend. Great location on the water in the quaint town of Victoria, which is nice to walk around and visit shops.
Google reviews has a rating of 4.6 out of 5. And there s often a lineup at the ordering counter. Need I say more? Food : 5/5
Lovely location, great service, fantastic food!
Visited this spot as our first stop on a food tour of the island. Nice spot, busy for lunch and thankfully we had a reservation. Ordered a lobster grilled cheese with beer battered fries and a lobster roll with onion rings. Food - 3/5 - lobster roll had lettuce and lemon added. Some may like these additions but I found it through off the tastes of biting into fresh lobster. Grilled cheese was good but soggy by the time we got to the second half. I d prefer to give this spot 3.5 but that s not an option. I suggest ordering things beside the lobster roll - the other foods did look great.
A bunch of sweaty, Lycra wearing old guys poured in here after biking 60+ km for lunch....it was amazing the food was delicious, the lobster sandwich was HUGE... I regretted that beer on the bike home, but certainly not at the time.
Delicious, great service and generous portion of lobster. Directly on the quay, is a must!
Fantastic lobster roll!
Cant show a picture because we ate it all. Chowder was the absolute favorite but lobster rolls, fish and chips and fish tacos were all loved by our group of 8. Found this on a self tour of the island off our cruise ship.
Excellent food.
The combo is the way to go, seafood chowder and lobster roll. Picturesque wharf, quintessential PEI experience.
I eat here at least once or twice a year. Yes, I am a local. Even though this place is now under new management, it continues to be a favorite of mine and to the many tourists that visit the quaint village of Victoria PEI. Food, view, location and people make this a must stop. The village has many other food and artisan options available. We had the (original) lobster roll, seafood chowder that was on special for $25 Canadian. The side of wharf fries were excellent also. You will not be disappointed.
Always my first meal coming to Charlottetown! Lobster roll is it.
The food (cup of chowder, fish tacos) was delicious, the waitresses were very nice, the atmosphere was local/authentic.
The SIZE of the lobster poutine was bonkers!! I legitimately commented on how heavy the box was when i picked it up. This could easily have fed two decently people for lunch - I was quite hungry and can eat a fair bit and it fed me for most of the day! Plenty of lobster, the lobster gravy was delicious, fries crispy-nothing to complain about! Sitting outside in the sun with the sea made it taste even better. Highly recommend.
Great food, wonderful staff!!
Loves this restaurant! Beautiful view of the waterfront, staff were fast and cheerful, food was good!
Good service, beautiful view, average food, high average price.
