Nourish is a vegetable forward, farm-to-table restaurant in the heart of James Bay in Victoria BC. Our focus is to bring the best produce from local farms to our table. We offer lots of vegetarian and vegan options.
We just had an absolutely delicious vegan brunch: benny and the muffuletta with a squash soup. The restaurant is charming, service friendly, and we will definitely be back next time we are in town!
Love this little gem. Bright atmosphere in a heritage feeling old house. Delicious soup! Gourmet meals.
Came for dinner. Walked in at 6pm table for 2 no wait. Opted to do the 3 course prix fixe menu. Mentioned we were vegan and server suggested some doable modifications so we could try more of the menu options. We really appreciated this gesture. Food was incredible! We each got the kale salad (no goat cheese) to start. We shared the grain bowl (hearty and flavourful), the risotto (modified for vegan so no Parmesan) but still super rich and creamy as our mains. The desserts were amazing. The chocolate and cashew ganache was like a truffle, and the cashew cheesecake was to die for! Really enjoyed the cozy vibe inside.
enjoyed this cozy vegan eatery large windows provided natural light which added to the small space Nice that all menu items had a vegan option and soup was vegan attentive service, food prep time was quick, food quantity generous for the price convenient location close to the harbour
My wife & I enjoyed a truly memorable meal here. We had the Ling cod coconut fennel dish and risotto, both were exceptional. Presentation was excellent as was the service. For desert, the olive oil cake with peaches and cream is a real treat.
Wow, what a delightful experience! Definitely worth mentioning and highly recommended. Golden Benny, Sleeping Beauty Pancakes, Big Hearty Kale Salad, Golden Goose Bone Broth, Herbal Remedy Bone Broth, … so many great dishes and drinks, all exceptionally and beautifully crafted with natures finest ingredients. We even visited The Garden at HCP where the food is grown, as well as the sister restaurant Charlotte & The Quail, and all we can say is wow!! Impressive food! If we could rank this place even higher than 5/5 we would, it’s just that good. (Sorry the food was so good, we couldn’t resist digging in before the photos).
The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was impressively fast. We enjoyed the Benny and Pancakes, and their sausage and bacon are an absolute must-try! Their sweet and salty latte is yummy.
Finally tried this when it’s ☀️ This cafe has been captured my eyeballs as it’s situated in a heritage house, their patio & bay windows! 🤗 Their golden Benny’s good with the combination of greens! Though the Roman lettuce is not my pick, a thick slice of baked sweet potato underneath a poached egg is interesting & amazing. The poached egg is cooked just right & the sauce is unique & freshly made! This is a low-carb option without meat! I finally found myself not a meat addicted esp in the morning! Nice table settings, cozy & decent interior design with the sunbeams thru the windows wake up my soul in the morning! 🤗 Love this cafe! When we lost Bear & Joey, we should keep on supporting other local cafe☺️
Absolutely awesome little restaurant. Everything is freshly made. Will definitely come back on my next visit to Victoria
Saturday October 26,2024 8pm for dinner. 4 persons paid $156 including tip. Excellent value and service and food.No elevator. We enjoyed eating on the 1st floor. We were staying across the street at the Huntingdon Hotel. We will go again January 17-20th,2025 weekend.
Friendly service, unique location with character. We had tea and coffee and both were really good. Recommend this spot
Very cute restaurant nestled in a charming building converted from a character home. We had brunch here and both food & service were great!
Came here for dinner one evening. Fantastic vegetarian options, great service, and a unique atmosphere in a beautifully decorated heritage building
Had brunch here cause my sister brought the family, we had an absolute laugh at the rabbit food she didn t find it very amusing but food wasent good and was very expensive for what you get. Not my personal spot but also, not great food for the price
Excellent for a brunch with carefully crafted ingredients, elegant service by passionate people. Vegetarian options: Excellent vegan options
The best! Highly recommend. I bring everyone here
wonderful comforting atmosphere
It was a lovely place for breakfast. Lots of vegan and gluten free options with great service. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and Vegan options
The food was absolutely outstanding! Really great three course prix fixe menu. I had the Kale and beet salad, the risotto, and the chocolate ganache. Great ambience too - very homey decor and environs. Vegetarian options: Large selection of vegetarian options.
Very cozy restaurant with really good food. The organic orange juice tasted like normal orange juice.
I ve visited Nourish Kitchen & Cafe multiple times, and each experience has been fantastic! Every dish Ive tried never disappoints everything is thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavour. Their vegetarian options are awe-inspiring; I ve enjoyed several satisfying and creatively crafted dishes. The warm and welcoming atmosphere and lovely decor invite you to relax and savour your meal. It s an excellent spot for casual lunches and special gatherings with friends. Parking is quite convenient, with plenty of options nearby, so you won t have to stress about finding a spot. If you re looking for a place that consistently serves delicious food in a cozy environment, Nourish Kitchen & Cafe is a must-visit. I can t wait for my next meal there!
Wonderful place...
hands down best experience i ve had in a restaurant. The food was a transformative experience, and my main talking point for the rest of my evening. Me and my friend shared the pork chop, as well as some bread and butter. The copious amount of flavour in each bite was heavenly. Even if the food was horrible (yeah right) our server, Bianca, would ve more than made up for it with her speedy service and charm. chef s kiss i tell y a
This is by far my favourite place to have brunch in Victoria. The food is always incredible as are the drinks. Everything has beautiful presentation and is also super healthy and delicious. The staff are always very friendly and fast. In the summertime you can even sit in the garden that surrounds the old Victorian style house, which is gorgeous.I highly recommend this place to anyone who is a foodie or even if you just want to have a tasty latte or alcohol drink somewhere beautiful.
Such a cute spot with a yummy matcha latte! I thought it was a bit strange that I couldn t sit on the ground floor because I didn t order food, but I did quite like the quaintness of the second floor after all.
I would give the food category a 5star rating but all though my egg Bennie with sweet potatoes was delicious, I felt there was way too much kale on the plate. Hence only 4 stars
We know Charlotte and The Quail well, so we were looking forward to dinner at Nourish. It wasnt disappointing, but it wasnt spectacular either! We shared three small dishes - gorgonzola with quince and seeded bread (delish but not enough bread at all and $9 - ??), roasted squash and pepper with mole sauce (yum!) and baby kale salad (nothing special). The restaurant has an electic mix of tables and chairs - ours wasnt particularly comfortable - and they ran out of the best dessert option at 7 pm. Overall, this place has some nice vegetarian options, but we wont go out of our way again - at least not for dinner.
Heartbeet Latte & Golden Sunrise along with the most magnificent nourishing breakfast. The name says it all!
The food is excellent. The service was great. I highly recommend!
Server was very unfriendly and was almost throwing our plates on the table with our food.
We moved to Victoria from Vancouver a year ago and weve been here 4 times now - thats 4 times more than any other restaurant! Other than Nourish, we havent been back to the same restaurant twice. Nourish is my favourite place for good food and polite friendly (and fast) service. Their 3 course dinner menu it perfect. Perfect sizes - great flavours in every dish and a price that keeps us coming back.
Very good food, beautiful old Victorian house. Great location. Thoroughly enjoyed our brunch! Delicious dirty chai.
Shared the eggs bene and yogourt with granola. It was good but not over the moon good, hence the 4 stars. Service was great!
We had the most amazing multi-course dinner at Nourish! All fresh farm-to-table style dishes. Elegant presentation & distinctive flavors. Quaint vibe in a modernized Victorian house. I wish would have taken pictures since most of the photos are of their brunch food. Don t pass this place up for dinner. 5 stars all around! Vegetarian options: Flavorful veggie dishes. Plenty of non-dairy options for starters, mains, and desserts.
This was one of the best meals I ve had in years (the pandemic was hard on all of us!)! Cocktail (elderflower margarita) was fantastic, starter (tomato salad) had the perfect balance of salty, sweet, savory, acidic, and minty fresh. Main dish (pork belly) was succulent with perfectly paired salsa, and dessert (olive oil cake) was light, subtle, and not overly sweet. The chef knows how to expertly combine flavors. Though they were busy, service was excellent! When visiting Victoria, I will definitely return.
One pancake for $20 is over the top. It wasn t even good.
First time there for brunch and had a delicious meal and coffee. Our server was excellent. Can t wait to return on our next visit to Victoria. Dietary restrictions: Egg allergy
Love food, drinks, environment, everything! Try the sea salted coffee drink, mi fav! Food
Great restaurant for excellent vegetarian or vegan or gluten-free food. Full marks for taste and presentation. It also offers the option of adding meat to a lot of dishes.
I love this place, was so happy to see they have one in Vic. Used to go to the one in Edmonton on the regular. Healthy, fast, the dandelion latte is delish!
Amazing food, very warm service and a lovely place. They accomplish with the nourishing.
Amazing meal & service.
Great for brunch. Loved my salad and wine for dinner very much.
We rode our bikes along the ocean through Beacon Hill Park to Nourish Kitchen located in an old Victorian house in downtown Victoria. Farm-fresh offerings included golden eggs Benny, warm kale salad with toasted seeds, topped off with aromatic coffee - excellent!
Very interesting vegetable based brunch spot. Food is tasty but very focused on greens
Wonderful Wholesome food with great ambience and service. This one is a must visit.
Food is ok if youre a bird who doesnt eat much, otherwise youll leave hungry. Also if you want to sit outside make sure to order first, set your own cutlery down, get your own water and be sure to leave a minimum 18% tip option for the guy who used the iPad oh so diligently!
Beautifully prepared, fresh and uplifting menu options. Go pure vegan or add some animal protien. Poached eggs, artisan sourdough bread, excellent. Oatmilk latte perfect. Do not skip this culinary experience.
We hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner and welcome cocktail at Nourish, Emily and her team absolutely killed it! The food was incredible, the drinks were fantastic and the service was top notch. Highly recommend this place for a casual Sunday brunch or a large event!
Cam was a fantastic waitress! Food was amazing! We highly recommend
If you care about locally grown, delicious wholesome food with intriguing flavours. This is the spot. We especially enjoyed the bone broths.
Lovely
We came here for dinner with a friend who lives nearby; There were a lot of dinner customers; We ordered mostly vegetarian dishes; My favorite dish is the cherry tomato and cucumber salad mixed with dressing and dill leaves + the hot sauteed olive dish is very delicious.
Surprisingly great food for a vegetarian restaurant. Creative dishes with great flavor. Weve been here 3 times now and enjoyed it every time. Great atmosphere and service as well.
Excellent food and service. Heartily recommend.
Excellent brunch spot. Cozy environment great for a lunch date. Service was attentive and the food was excellent.
Adorable brunch spot!! Very accommodating to our family, including our infant. Beautiful building, yummy food + drinks. Vegetarian options: Tons of vegan/vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: Lots of options for dairy free and gluten free. Vegans + vegetarians will feel welcomed here. Kid-friendliness: High chairs for young ones. Small enough to fit our 5 month old.
Fabulous food and service. Innovative menu, full of interesting, fresh and delicious dishes. Very disappointed not to be able to eat here again as only in Victoria briefly. If you live locally then go eat here as you have a gem on your doorstep.
Delicious place, very good atmosphere and decoration. Try the sweet and salty coffee
On our visit to Victoria , we found this charming cafe just down the road from our hotel. It is a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast and coffee. We loved it so much, its been our breakfast location everyday. Very tasty offering of food, great service.
I liked everything about this place. It was cozy, the service was attentive and friendly, the bathroom was clean and the food was delicious. I liked everything except the size of the portions - tiny. They were perfect for a senior in an assisted living facility but not for an active adult. Four stars
Excellent, creative, tasty, unexpected dishes. One of our best and freshest culinary experiences
Great gluten free and vegan options! Oat flour pancake is really good, the speciality coffee menu is also excellent. Prices around $15-20 for breakfast, $5-10 for coffees, really bright, welcoming space. Parking: Free 1-2h street parking fairly close by.
Lovely brunch which is great for dietary options.
Food was delicious with fresh ingredients and the place is georgous highly recommended
10 s across the board. Had a fantastic honey salted latte, would get this daily if I could. The golden benny was incredible, just enough of everything. My wife had the bone broth and loved it, said it was perfect. Kids had the pancake and couldn t eat it fast enough. The service was spectacular as well. The atmosphere here is great, would love to see it at dinner or in autumn. We will be back one day, no doubt.
I had dinner here last night. It was the best restaurant meal I ve had in several years. If I could bestow a Michelin star the Nourish Kitchen would get one.
Darling space. Clean food. Generous portions. The $45Cad for a 3-course meal allowed us to try more without breaking the budget. Also, loved the roomy space between tables to not feel like packed in together to be fed like the animals that we are (haha).
We just arrived from the ferry terminal. tired and hungry so we opted to go here since Jam Cafe has a line up and this place showing good google reviews. So we ve been welcomed, and a lady escorted us to our table we waited for atleast 15mins before someone asked if we re ready to order. Imagine that waiting time for someone who s starving from a long trip but in fact, there s two servers just walking pass by our table even asked the other table if they re ready to order but they came second after us!!!! So to make it short, the service here are so BAD not to mention the lady who escorted us to our table served my matcha drink with FULL attitude like here you go and just put it so aggresive on our table. Like??? what did i do wrong to you miss mam??? and the food $60 for just veggies and small breads which are not even tasty. My husband was too nice he even gave them tip (to the kitchen people, not to the rude servers!!!) to make it $70
Utterly charming! Food was delicious and inventive, and the atmosphere perfectly warm and relaxed. Our waitress was attentive and witty but unimposing. Our table shared a lot of starters and mains and were pleased with everything. As someone sensitive to dairy, it was amazing not to have to compromise either, they ve got fantastic non-dairy/vegan/vegetarian options.
Came here for lunch arriving right around 12:30. It was busy, but I was sat promptly. I had the Sourdough Tartine - which was delicious. The eggs were poached to perfection, while the romanseco sauce was the star of the show. I washed it down with the homemade kombucha. For the quality of product the price seems reasonable. The servers were clearly amidst their lunch rush but were still personable. Would recommend :)
A nice selection of items. We were looking for some vegan food and it was delicious, though the pickled onions overpowered my smoked tofu on sourdough and same for my wifes rice, quinoa and lentil bowl. Neither were extremely filling. I recommend, but could be better. Fantastic service and atmosphere.
Ive been twice to Nourish Kitchen. I love the warm, cozy atmosphere. For a small neighbourhood bistro, it has an excellent menu, cocktail and wine list. The food is delicious and the service friendly. Our son and daughter-in-law recently moved into the area and we look forward to making this a regular tradition. Bravo.
Unpopular opinion, just not my cup of tea. I would prefer more of a traditional breakfast than these over the top new age healthy spin on breakfasts. Im not sure I want egg benny to have poached eggs on a bed of yam instead of an English muffin. They do take good measure on gluten-free food for Celiac though. Just a little too hipster and tree hugger for my liking.
Lots of GF options, extremely fast kitchen!
Brunch at Nourish Kitchen and Cafe never disappoints. Plenty of options for those who are gluten-free as well as dairy free and vegetarian as well as vegan. This is the Golden Benny which is 2 poached eggs, cashew hollandaise, sweet potatoes, kale, mushrooms and greens. I opted to add the bacon that is sourced locally, and it was delicious. The whole meal was phenomenal! We will definitely be back - so many other choices on the menu to try! Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options!
Got seated fast, food was delicious, beautiful place. Well be back!
The pancakes w bacon was amazing! Served w warm jam and cream. We had the top floor booked. Such a cool setting . Friendly staff and atmosphere. Historical house. Top notch! Parking: 2 hour free parking
Amazing food. Everytime we go here.
Amazing dish and super cozy atmosphere!
Quite the surprise, very unique.
Great and inventive food and relaxed venue, getting better?
Loved this little place! Close to our hotel with many options to choose from. Dietary restrictions: Gluten Allergy Food : 5/5 |
Soo good! I went Paleo a couple months ago, so food is a focus for me, and theirs is awesome. Not all veg.. i had pork and tuna, we left totally stuffed. Am probably going back for breakfast today, where it seems like they run more of a counter. In a cool old house, would recommend to anyone.
We loved the unique drinks, and enjoyed the farm fresh brunch. Plenty of dairy free, gluten free and eggless options. Had a scramble with tempeh substituted for the egg and the cashew sauce on top was delicious. Also we added bacon and sausage to our meal and the bacon had a delicious rich flavor and the sausage was tender and tasty. Plenty of farm fresh veggies accompanied our meals. 10/10 recommend. Dietary restrictions: They can substitute tempeh for egg, they have vegan sauces available as well.
Beautiful and relaxing atmosphere located in a heritage house, excellent food and friendly servers. First time (April 2024) but will be back
Fantastic restaurant! Vegetarian options: Excellent selection Dietary restrictions: Great for vegan or gluten free Kid-friendliness: Quite kid friendly!
Amazing food! The salted honey latte is glorious
Ambience was good. Staff was polite n friendly. Food was really out of the blue n very tasty. Drinks were good too.
Yum!
Great brunch. We were in town for the weekend and came here twice. The staff was super friendly, the venue is a vibe, and the food was phenomenal. Everything we had was good.
A charming atmosphere in a Victorian house. The food is plant forward but you can add pork sausage or bacon to any dish, so it appeals to everyone (and who couldnt use more vedge in their diet anyway). Service was great, menu is thoughtful and interesting, and the beet cocoa is very instagram-worthy.
Warning: If you have alergies, this place may not take them seriously! This place is quite charming, in that it is in an old Victorian home, but it did not live up to our expectations in terms of food and service. My wife disclosed to the server that she has an alergy to green peppers and red onions, and asked if the soup of the day had any of those ingredients and his response was to shrug his shoulders and say Maybe. Later the kitchen determined that it could have red onions, so another soup was substituted. We each ordered the oatmeal pancake. The options included bacon or sausage. My wife ordered the sausage option, and after taking a bite, discovered it started to bother her throat. We asked for the ingredient list, and low and behold it contained jalepeno peppers which would fall under the green pepper category. The oatmeal pancakes themselves were overcooked and dry and quite crispy on the edges. They didnt look like the photos that other reviewers had shared. We ordered the sweet and salty lattes, and asked how much honey was in each serving and the server told us two teaspoons. When sipping on the lattes, the honey was undetectable, certainly not two teaspoons and we didnt get the salt until we got to the dregs in the cup. Overall I give this establishment a thumbs down and wouldnt visit again. The servers attitude and lack of attention was inexcusable, especially considering that the cheque showed his name with his title as Assistant Manager.
Nourish was a wonderful surprise on our visit to Victoria. The food was delicious and had options for all in our group! We went back the next day!
I don t get why a whole food place like this would burn their food. The atmosphere is stunning but the food is disappointing. Small portions and cannot understand how they can make food like this. Pricey, do they even use organic?
Delicious
Amazing spot for dinner with great atmosphere. Loved the sunflower seed risotto - unique, delicious, and plant based.
You wont be disappointed
Excellent meal, great service, and classic ambiance. Super fresh and well executed dishes. Wish I could take this place with me to Seattle!!
This place does amazing DINNERS (as well as the breakfasts/brunch everyone is raving about! Enjoyed the quiet attentiveness of the staff and delicious flavour combinations of the dinner. The Dine Around menu provided enough varied options to satisfy all of us, plus wine pairing suggestions. Would definitely go there again, the sooner the better!
Personally we do not go out much to fancy restaurants. But I asked in my reservation to be seated in a semi-quiet location for privacy so we could enjoy a pre-valentines day dinner. We were one of two parties to arrive at opening and the next party to arrive was loud and sat less then 2 feet from us. We ordered from the menu and our first course, the winter greens was alright but the main was really not pleasant. The pork coppa was cool and was almost slimy but was also over powered by the oil and tang of the sauerkraut. My partners main was the sunflower seed risotto which was slimy and strangely tangy. We finished and refused dessert. Not worth the $45 per person. The staff was pleasant. Honestly regret choosing the restaurant as our valentine dinner venue.
Being a vegetarian person, I enjoyed the many options which I had. Ended up ordering just 2 of the starters. Tuna tartar (cold) and cauliflower (hot). I believe that their menu on their website is outdates, as it does not offer those dishes. The price was similar to 1 dish of the more expensive dishes, and I liked to experience the variety. The combined price was $29 + taxes (no drinks). Service was good, and it looks like the do their best to make their customers happy. Vegetarian options: Many of those. The problem is to decide what to order (a good problem to have). Parking: There are a few spots on the street with 1 or 2 hours limit up to 6 PM.
Delicious brunch. I paid around $40 for the golden Benny s with bacon and seedy toast and a latte. You can easily end up spending more, and the coffees are on the pricier side. The food was good, and the seedy toast is incredible!
Highly recommend grabbing brunch here. I got the oatmeal pancake with blueberry syrup/sauce. Ill get it again next time I go. Plus the sausage was AMAZING!
Quaint spot near the water with incredible food and coffee. We ordered the eggs Benny. The hollandaise suace made with cashews is so delicious. The pancake and shukshuka were also delicious and highly recommend any of those options. The service is fast and efficient as well as friendly! This is a must if you are in Victoria.
100% must try
The environment is good. It s a beautiful little bungalow suitable for taking pictures. The service is very good. Average food, a little disappointed The coffee is a bit too bitter and over roasted.
Delightful vegetarian friendly restaurant, great atmosphere and good coffee to boot! Thanks
Dinner is just as fantastic as the brunch, and they take reservations. I dont think there has been much promotion around their new dinner service, so Id like to spread the word. Braised pork was tender and flavourful, veggies colorful, crisp and fresh. Bacon fettuccine had more bacon and peas than pasta, so great value. I usually dont order pasta when out as I feel its easy to make at home, but this dish was special and did not disappoint. Beet salad and winter green salad were incredibly fresh and flavourful as well. Wonderful house-made kombucha as well.
My favourite place for delicious breakfast with friends and clients. The sleeping beauty pancakes are a must try. The presentation has changes slightly but still excellent. The atmosphere is what draws me back. The restaurant is a charming heritage style home. Lovely and bright.
Best brunch near the inner harbour! Quaint setting in a Victorian house. Vegan offerings. You can choose to sit down and enjoy service or go to their coffee bar for take out including gluten free goodies. Upstairs there s the library where you can sit with your coffee. Perfect!
Ate alone yet still felt special! Read my paper. Great service. Great food. Best dine alone service ever.
Hmmm, perhaps my expectations were too high. Lovely surroundings, although very loud. Our group of 3 had a hard time having a conversation. Excellent service. The menu looked good, but the food was lukewarm. Soup and Benny, truly, not resembling hot. The salad was a pile of the spiked greens, which I will never eat again, as it got stuck in my throat. For the price I expected better
Its no surprise that its always busy. The atmosphere is unique and they always bring out great customer service.
Portion is big, good and healthy food, overpriced, tourist area, interior is cute, service ok
Tasty food and great ambience. Definitely recommend.
A lovely spot for Griet, Coffee, and delicious treats!
They say they close at 2 pm - the sign on the door said Closed at 1:30 Im confused just wanted to get a muffin from the To Go Bar .went in just to mKe sure I was not mistaken they were indeed closed - maybe update your website to say closed at 1:30
Wonderful brunch menu that can be veganized for some selections. Loved the flavors, and the space. Vegetarian options: Ask for the vegan options.
Love this place. Love the mushroom mocha.
Small menu but all the items are tasty! For someone like myself who cant make up my mind with a lot of choices the small menu was great. I had the frittata and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The bread and butter on my plate was the best toast Ive had.
Nourish used to be my favourite brunch spot. Since the change in owners sadly the food isn t nearly as good. The salad was not good at all, way too acidic and only greens. It used to be filled with all sorts of vegetables and a different dressing that was delicious. The tartine benny is my favourite. Unfortunately, it has also gone down hill. They no longer have the delicious herb hollandaise and the last three times my eggs have been underdone. This time I even asked for medium poached in hopes that the egg white would be fully cooked and it was still runny. The golden benny was also much smaller and less tasty than it used to be and had the same overly acidic salad. I do think that if I wasn t comparing it to the original meals it would be less disappointing. Still a wonderful spot that caters to many different dietary restrictions and has the kindest staff. I hope the food can get back to its original amazing quality!
Great brunch with my family.
I enjoyed the unique and delicious dishes. Building is beautiful.
Stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. Amazing in every aspect from service, drinks, presentation and atmosphere. I wanted to lick the plate!
Great new addition to the casual fine dinning scene in James Bay. Delicious elevated casual dishes thoughtfully prepared with fresh, local ingredients.
First stop arriving into town and we went in to get a coffee to go: a superb latte and beet root latte (oat milk). While we were waiting (which went by fast because during the wait we were talking about the beautiful town of Victoria with the very friendly Barista) we looked at their menu we had to come back the next morning for breakfast! So we did! It did not disappoint! We started out with a cappuccino and a nutritious turmeric bone broth , then I had a bowl of their hearty soup and my husband had the dish that, I cant remember the name of it, but it came with poached eggs with an incredibly delicious thick cut bacon, cashew cheese and a mix of veggies(eggplant and cant remember what else), toast and small salad that just made the whole meal perfect! Will definitely recommend this cute and charming spot with the friendliest staff and will most certainly be back the next time were in town!!
Excellent restaurant! We arrived prior to open for Saturday brunch - we were seated and served prompt. The toilet is a little weird, it runs and doesnt flush well but they have nice soap! Thanks for the positive experience. Vegetarian options: Can add meat if you would like.
This is better than any brunch place Ive had in Seattle. New York level in terms of quality and ingredient selection. Small menu which I prefer. Everything is on point. Can you guys open a location in Seattle please?
Delicious bacon and cute question cards for friends (or first date who dont know how to start a conversation)
Short staffed on a sunny weekend so no garden service. Folks were packed like sardines in the noisy inside tables. Got take away and took it away.
Delicious dinner and super friendly service in a very comfortable home setting. The meal was a highlight for us while visiting several cities in BC. Incredibly fresh and the flavours did all the talking, some places try too hard, but this was effortlessly amazing!
To our favourite watering hole and the new owner. Tragically the half and half (benny and pancake) is no longer available. Annnnd gift certificates purchased in January of this year are no longer honoured. Also sad, we had a few.
My sable fish was perfect, the wine was good and the waiter knowledgeable. A find in a unassuming residential house!
Tried their new dinner service. Menu was a bit different than expected from their instagram. Wonderful food, though a classic case of small portion fine dining that has you wishing for more. Really appreciate the quality of the ingredients and was pleasantly surprised at the umami of the cauliflower two ways in the white sauce of the pork cheeks.
Nourish is the closest thing to eating at a commune that you can achieve without a pitch to join a cult. Much like the allure of cohabitation and back yard farms, nourish welcomes you into a warm embrace of gently used milk jugs for water and aged decor. The menu is sparse and fairly non-descript but ultimately the food resembles fresh and clean food youd want. Id argue nourish is type of restaurant, but its done well enough that I consistently return each time I come to Victoria.
I went to grab a coffee today and showed up at 1:50. When I looked up the cafe online is said they close at 2 but when I arrived they said they had already taken apart the coffee machine. Sad when staff shuts things down before closing time. They should have a sign that reads if you re not here by 1:30 we won t serve you . Very disappointing
What an amazing atmosphere, the food was great and different than a regular breakfast spot. An experience definitely that needs to happen.
Favourite breakfast spot in Victoria. It s so rare to go somewhere that s actually healthy, nourishing and delicious. You pay for it, but it s actually worth it.
Simply incredible. The food is divine and leaves you feeling good. The local ingredients and effort that goes into the dishes is outstanding. Very good job guys, best brunch Ive ever had :)
Had the sourdough tartine wife had the
We weren t very happy with our breakfast at Nourish.. We ordered the eggs Benny. Standard meal we would order when going for breakfast $19 without bacon and served on lettuce. I think that s a bit ridiculous for the price. We will admit the bacon was good but we had to pay $6 to get it which should be standard with an eggs Benny at least some sort of protein. $25 for an eggs Benny is pretty crazy, I can appreciate its Victoria, but come on.
Great place with original and colourful dishes
Had a delicious breakfast here while on holidays in the area. Would definitely recommend it.
Everything was great, food, service, but man the bacon is too notch. Love the vibe and the location!
Wow what a find for dinner!! I m only sorry I haven t been sooner since moving here from California last year. The quality of the food was exceptional, extremely flavourful and the small plates were perfect to share. I will definitely be back, bravo to the chef and terrific staff!
One of the best breakfasts I ve had based on quality of the food and ambiance. Very reasonably priced, well worth the food alone. Add to that dining a 10 minute walk along the harbour from the center of the tourist district, efficient service and very comfortable seating in a historic house. We arrived a few minutes before opening at 9am, with about five groups in line in front of us and were seated 10 minutes later. We finished breakfast and were out the door before 10am. We were not rushed at all - we just had places to go.
Truly nourishing! The best food you can put in your body.
We came for dinner and this is the BEST dinner we ve had in Victoria in a long time!! Absolutely delicious!
Great food and service, attention to details, conversation starters cards
I loveee their brunch but I thought their dinner was very mediocre. It was quite expensive and the quality didn t match the price. It felt like brunch specialist making dinner foods but slightly missing the mark. My dads dinner had a Little Rock in it and they didn t really have any reaction to it, maybe that s normal for them? I d recommend going for breakfast and lunch but maybe trying somewhere else for dinner.
very wholesome and beautiful. vegan eggs benny is absolutely 10/10
Delicious and refreshing food and drinks in a cozy setting. Both brunch and dinner are worth checking out.
Service and ingredients are worth the price; service for service. 18% suggested tip, feeling like in Toronto.
The gazpacho soup was so delicious as was the tartaine. A sharper knife would have been a good idea.
I can t speak highly enough of the food quality at Nourish. Beautifully cooked, prepared and presented. Genuinely a unique twist to conventional breakfast menus. Only rated atmosphere low because it was incredible noises for me with high ceilings and echoes with people talking and staff clattering chairs around (I have bad tinnitus).
Love this place! Great food, great service. A small menu that is done to perfection. I go here weekly for the Princess Pancakes or the Eggs Benedict.
It was a lovely dining experience. Staff was wonderful, food was very tasty.
Great place! It is beautiful and charming. We ordered the pancakes and the tartine and both were delicious. The salty coffee was great as well. Vegetarian options: Almost everything is vegetarian and could be vegan easily. Very vegan friendly
It wasnt my favorite place
They have dinner now! So good. Scallops are great. Octopus is great. Its August so the tomatoes were soooo good!
So so so good! We recently held our post-wedding breakfast at Nourish for about 30 guests. They food was excellent, the space lovely and the staff wonderful! We cannot recommend this place enough!
Loved the pancakes here! A cute place for brunch, tucked away from the downtown core. Wasnt too busy at 9 am on a Saturday, and the service was friendly.
Had all the vegan dishes on the menu, best meal me and my girlfriend had in Victoria. The sunflower seed risotto was interesting and delicious. The wine list had some great BC wines. Dessert was phenomenal, could of done with a dessert wine and the lights turned down a touch. All in all fantastic.
Try the pancakes!!!!!
Awesome Bacon, Sourdough Tartine and Imperial Sunrise drink
One of the best breakfasts I ve ever had. The fact this place has anything less than a 5 star is probably from angry people not getting in. Absolutely fantastic food seriously. And service was wonderful!! A MUST TRY IN VIC
The idea of this restaurant is wonderful, and you could tell they use quality ingredients, but it was unfortunately lacking flavor. Service was great, but it was very loud and crowded inside. We had the fritada, and I think the sourdough tartan if I am not mistaken. Their sea salt coffee was great.
This place is the BEST! Best food, best coffee, comfy and clean atmosphere. We went for breakfast and weve booked dinner reservations for the same day. I think anybody who hasnt given this place 5 stars is just trying to keep it all to themselves. I had the sleeping beauty pancakes and the Haus sausage and it was amazing. My mom had the sourdough toast and bacon. Weve never had such delicious bacon. Prices are so good for what you get. Quality is top notch. Cant say enough good things. Server was also attentive and relaxed. Loved it! Thank you so much! Vegetarian options: Super flavourful and fresh and tastey Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free friendly and so yummy
Nourishing is the perfect word to describe this beautiful food. I get the Benny every time with seed bread. This is a wholesome, healthy meal unlike your typical Benny. Highly recommend.
A delicious, healthy breakfast. Love the poached egg dishes.
We started our day with this brunch, and itll be a long time before we have a better brunch. Really a special place.
Perfect breakfast, friendly service, nice spot Vegetarian options: Tasty Food : 5/5 |
Building is beautiful and breakfast was very nice. Small menu but good food and fast service with a smile.
this is probably my favorite place in victoria, and i honestly cant believe its not more famous. its an old historical house tucked in a lush green neighborhood in james bay- even the exterior is gorgeous. the food is absolutely amazing- its all fancy versions of typical brunch food. the menu is very nutritious and safe for anyone with dietary restrictions. even their drinks are very unique- they have a dandelion latte! my go-to orders are either the beetroot latte with the pancakes (super fluffy, and they come with a blueberry compote), or the golden benny with the turmeric latte. theres plenty of seating in all the rooms of the house, and my favorite place is in one of the upper rooms where you can sit in an actual windowseat. its insanely gorgeous- clean but well-decorated with lots of plants, and it literally feels like ive snuck into a rich persons historical vacation home. the staff are all very lovely, and its just such a wonderful atmosphere. ive brought all my friends here and will continue to do so!
Food is delicious, but you re gonna want to add all the extras to get what youd expect on a plate. Building is old as hell, pricing is a little steep for what you get
So good we ate here twice. Both the atmosphere & service were charming. The food tastes so good.Fresh, quality produce nicely cooked.Highlights incl the breads, the carrott & beet dishes & tuna tartare .The cod in coconut broth was our fav.Prices reasonable & represent value. Dietary restrictions: Gf & Dairy sensetive very well catered for.
Since ownership changed there have been slight changes to the menu for the worst unfortunately. I used to absolutely love this place but the portions continue to shrink despite the high price and flavors just aren t what they used to be. The last time I was there the soup of the day literally tasted like chef boyardi tomato soup, it was disgusting. Luckily the hot beverages and baked goods at the to go bar are still incredible. If you want to dine in a beautiful location I recommend this spot but otherwise save your money and go elsewhere or stick to the cafe bar.
Eating here is like cozying up in a fluffy blanket in front of a fireplace and being served one delicious fare after another. Praise to the chef, you have nailed it! And the presentation, wow. Have been here for brunch (Fritatta is delish!) and dinner (cod - yum! The cauliflower side was a hit with the entire family). Loved the conversation-starter cards and the beautiful handmade crafts at the cash (made for great gifts to bring home). The place was packed and the hostess/waitress fluttered from one table to another like there was nothing to it. Service was fantastic. Thanks for such a great experience.
Lovely place Nice meal with reasonable price The salty and sweet Latte is my favorite
Food was very unique compared to other places. They had some good vegan/vegetarian options. Flavours were good. Coffees were also very good, we had the tumeric and dandelion options and would recommend. Unfortunately service wasnt great and there was a hair in our food. As compensation they said they would take one coffee off the bill?! This was not a good sign of quality service and I wouldnt dine there again. Shame.
This is definitely a favourite place of mine to go now. Its tricky when ordering to know exactly what is on each dish because some of the items on the menu are not too clear. For instance, I ordered the seedy and cashew cheese plate and then the fermented plate. Had I known that the seedy plate had fermented veggies with it, I wouldnt have ordered them separately. The person taking my order should have pointed that out and I could have ordered something else to compliment the seedy dish. It was kinda disappointing but nonetheless I did enjoy the extra serving of house made fermented veggies. They do an excellent job at that. My friend also ordered a vegan benny and somehow they made 2 of them. Luckily she was only charged for one, but it seems like a big mix up with whoever took our order that day. Additionally, it would be nice if they could have the soup of the day written somewhere by where you order behind the stairs, I did not understand that it was Chunky Vegetable soup and thought I heard Turkey Vegetable, therefore I did not order the soup even though I was really craving a good soup at the time. Anyhow, all this to say...the food is very delish but I think that day they could have improved on their service. Busy place so somewhat understandable. Oh, and the seedy toast was much better than I thought it would be....light texture and really flavourful! I loved it!
A girl in the bus recommended this place to us, everything was very delicious!, good service and they have a dynamic at the table where you can take a letter and ask questions with the person you are going to and thus start more conversation, which helps you stop the cell phone, if you are looking for victory, visit this place!; I hope to see you next week!
Delicious, unusual vegetable forward food. Service was exceptional. Thank you Emily. Went there twice when we were in Victoria.
4.5 always enjoyed a nice brunch at this restaurant.
My coworker recommended this place so my husband and I went. Get the bacon!! So good. The servers were not very friendly though. Vegetarian options: This place is vegan friendly
Quite a good tapas style meal. Really enjoyed the after dinner matcha and turmeric lattes!
There is a restaurant in an independent house at the four-way intersection. You almost missed it by driving. Vegetarians can choose not to use eggs or meat. You can choose not to have garlic and onions. The oil and vinegar sauce with fresh vegetables is refreshing and not greasy. The sweet potatoes are slightly fried (you can substitute the bread if you are allergic to gluten). The vegetarian sauce Top is so delicious that I was deeply impressed. I will eat it again next time.
Lovely neighborhood Bistro. Wish it was more accessible so my better half could come too.
Amazing little spot! Grab a bite to eat in a healthy way.
We stumbled across this spot thinking that it was a residential building, and then we discovered it was a cafe, so we decided to stop for breakfast. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, the service was quick and accurate, and the food was absolutely amazing. The dishes were all made with less dough and more grains and greens, which we loved. The pancakes were unlike anything we have ever tasted before, and we can say with confidence they are the best we ve ever had. We loved this place, and we are definitely coming again. Highly recommend!
If you re looking for a healthy take on brunch, this is the place. I found the service a little rushed but all in all a really cool experience. I loved how I could make pretty much everything vegan and gluten free.
Amazing food and atmosphere!! Would definitely eat here again! Food
This place was amazing especially the pancakes were mind blowing. I don t think i have had a better pancake than this. Other than that the bowl and the soup were also great. Highly recommend this place. Very nice vibes and excellent service.
Definitely one of my favourite places for brunch. Small menu but I order the Benny almost every single time anyways... would love the half & half back on the menu (Benny & pancake). FYI their Benny is served on roasted veggies (no bread) with a big green salad & have an option to add bacon or sausage. It feels very nourishing . Have enjoyed a number of hot & cold drinks. Excited to see theyre open for dinner now & look forward to checking that out.
We had the vegan eggs Benny and a mocha and latte with oat milk. Our meals were delicious and the service was great! Would definitely return!
We went for Sunday brunch. The food was delightful and service at the table was great! The food came quickly. The atmosphere inside was cozy and chic. They dont take reservations so we had a very long wait (a little over 1 hour) so we ended up having lunch instead. Best to arrive before 10 AM for an early brunch if you expect to eat close to 11 AM. I suggest a reservation system for the restaurant. Dietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten free options
