Had an incredible dinner here tonight. Chelsea gave me and my partner some of the best service I've had at any restaurant and the food was to die for. Thanks so much for the great night!
Went last night for a girls night... no wait to be seated.. food was incredible... service impeccable and very attentive... will definitely be returning! The oysters were sweet and buttery. I had to get a 2nd order.... Oh and the house white wine was the best I've ever had.
Really enjoyed the tapas experience. It is wonderful having so many different types of food. All the dishes were really delicious and very different. The service was very good and the atmosphere was interesting. The one thing that they need to do is get more comfortable chairs. I will be back to try try some more dishes.
This was my favourite dinner we've had in Victoria. We tried the mixed olives, gambas al ajillo and patatas bravas, and they were all delicious..I only wish I would've been more hungry so I could've tasted more :) Our server (I'm not sure about the name, the nice girl with the orange skirt) was also very friendly and attentive! I'll be back next time we're in Victoria 😊
Super COVID friendly and insanely delicious. We ordered basically the whole menu plus cocktails and wine and paid less than $150 for an epic feast for 2 people. Extremely yummy + highly recommended.
Without question the most incredible dining experiences I have had. We did the tapas for two and WOW!!!! 9 courses of tapas so bring your appetite. The variety is just amazing, and you just cant miss the warm bacon wrapped dates, in fact we ate those before we remembered to take a photo. they have a happy hour a great selection of drinks and its a nice atmosphere. I will never visit Victoria again without coming here for a meal. The Tapas for 2 is a great value as well in my opinion. Highly recommend coming here.
This place is a gem. It's intimate and cozy with a beautiful dark ceiling, brick walls and old Victoria charm. The staff are lovely. The food is really good. I enjoyed a cocktail and a glass of red wine. I was able to ask for differences between wines to make a great choice. The food specials were tasty. They work around allergies. I'm happy here!
I've never had a bad meal here. Everything is exquisite and the octopus is to die for. Great service, excellent wine.
Very tasty. We took the tapas for two menu and it was very good. The tuna and pork cheeks were delicious. A spoon to divide the dishes would be useful, but that is just a detail. Definitely recommended!
Great happy hour
Great space! Sometimes tapas can be unapproachable, but Catherine made the experience extra special!
Great tapas, friendly staff, very enjoyable
First time here, thought wed try it during Dine Around. Well come again.
FYI. Reservations are unavailable, and waits can be long. Went there at 550pm on a Friday and was told the wait was an hour. Got put on the waiting list, and checked in at 710pm to see if our table was ready. Was told by the host that we had to wait longer, and that of we didn t like it we were welcome to eat somewhere else. Our table came up at 730pm. 1hr 40mins (for a one hour estimated wait) is a bit long for my taste.
A great hidden gem in Victoria there 7 course menu was too die for. Service was outstanding and definitely worth going again. The vibe and atmosphere feels casual fine dining and definitely worth a visit if you are in Victoria. One con its maybe hard to find a way in but its through Ferris upstairs and the server will take you through a restaurant to your seat inside.
Enjoyed the tapas style foods and some delicious menu items like bacon wrapped dates, ensalada verde, estofado de carne (short ribs), and grilled squid. They handled GF for a Celiac person very well. Friendly, welcoming service and atmosphere.
Food was very good, highly recommend. Service was very quick. Lovely atmosphere and decor.
Love this little hidden place. The food is consistently delicious and the service is great.
Invited at a hosted event here. The food was out of this world. Well worth it. Great liquor selection at the bar.
Tasty little spot for a date night. We ordered various tappas and went during happy hour ! Vegetarian options: My partner is vegetarian and was able to find a few options. Dietary restrictions: I am gluten free. They had gf baguette options.
Good food, great wine. As a Spanish person, not the most authentic tapas but definitely some of the better stuff you can get here. It s hard to import ingredients, so overall it was really good. Our server was friendly. Great spot for little groups Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. Up a narrow flight of stairs
Great plae, service and delicious food!
Delicious tapas and beverages. Friendly staff. You gotta try everything! Its so hard to choose. Come hungry, order and share with your friends. We even ordered every dessert on the menu and we were not disappointed!
Cute space, great vibes, try their scallops!!
Excellent, friendly service and wonderful food in a fun environment. Cant ask for much more!
Great place on yates st for drinks. Loved the atmosphere!
Good restaurant I like this plate.
Lovely ambiance and server, food is just ok. I go for big flavor profiles. This was simple & fresh, but not divine.
We really like place. Awesome food, friendly staffs and server. I recommend the mussels, must try with white wines
Great place for small plates and good wines. Dishes have good balance of authentic Spanish with non-Spanish fusion twist. Oysters were great - different from East Coast shells - very buttery. We ended up going here 2 days in a row.
Servers made us feel so welcome. Food was great. Definitely recommend!
Always delicious and intriguing. This is definitely my wife and mys favorite date night spot!
Seafood was very fresh, great pairing with the house cava. Will definitely visit again
Beautiful atmosphere, fantastic staff, delicious food, and awesome cocktails! One of my top 3 restaurants in Victoria for sure! Remember, no reservations, so go early for a table! Definitely a must for locals and tourists!
Great atmosphere. Great service by an invested knowledgeable server
The best Spanish tapas I have eaten in Canada so far. I loved the calamari, the dates wrapped in bacon and the beets with goat cheese and pistachios. Great ambiance and service. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Cool space once you find it we enjoyed delicious tapas including a paella-like dish with a tasty safran sauce.
Wow fantastic atmosphere food and experience.
Fun little tapas spot with a nice atmosphere. We got the Syrah, bacon wrapped dates, tuna, and patatas bravas, which were all delicious the only one that could ve been skipped was the patata bravas, not the best rendition of this traditional tapas dish.
Its a meh. A competent ok
Winchester was a great server. Steak needs some salt and pepper
Great place for dinning Great drink options
Excellent service , decor and food. Highly recommended
Really cozy feel, great food. Gluten free options too.
A lovely little spot for some very nice Spanish dishes. Lots of flavor and great value. Only drawback is not being open every day.
Wonderful food, great atmosphere. Its still quiet even when its full. Each plate is pretty small, but they add up to a lot of food and I left satisfied. Its a little difficult to find, buried above one restaurant, and beside another.
Great tapas and the best caesars!
Fancy and romantic, delicious and inexpensive. The bacon wrapped dates and chorizo puffs are my favourites!
Great atmosphere, fantastic service. We loved the bacon wrapped dates and chorizo puffs! We went twice over a three day trip.
My favourite place to go for a night out with friends! The menu is well thought out, with a variety of flavours and ingredients to satisfy everyone. Excellent sangria and the desserts are delicious (especially the brownie!).
Great food, service and experience. How can you dislike any place that has pug with horns as their logo really.
Cute and cozy place
Great cocktails, they make a mean Corpse Reviver!
Solid 3.5+. Cold smoked albacore tuna was awesome. Everything else very good, but not amazing. Definitely will be back. Service was a bit confused with the servers occasionally searching for the table a dish was supposed to land on.
Beautiful dinner. Service was some of the best that we have had in a while. (Very attentive and great with recommendations.) Highlights: beef short rib, meatball, octopus and anchovies Wine was paired really well and each plate was awesome. We will be back here every time that we come to Victoria. Really a wonderful evening.
Great food,great service!
Honestly not great. We went with friends for Dine Around and did their set menu. Maybe it was the set menu but the meal was not good. Between everyone in the group we ordered the different options and had the wine pairings. The wine was the best part. The appetizers were too salty and fishy and not easy to eat. The mains were slightly cold. The pork dish turned out to be basically pork soup with chucks of vegetables pork and canalini beans. The vegan option might have been the best but it was literally just roasted vegetables and a sauce, the fish stew seemed ok but lacked flavour and didn t have a ton of seafood in it. Dessert was rather small (tiny jars of pancotta and what they called a school boy snack ), honestly they were a bit too simple, anyone can scoop ganache onto a crustini and panacotta is milk, flavour and gelatine. Overall we left feeling that we were sorry we went there and I don t think we would go again certainly not for dine around. Great waitress though and staff seemed nice and attentive.
I enjoyed the tapas here immensely. The service was great, the wine list was well curated and the price was well below what it should have been. Ive only been once, but now that I know it exists, I will make an effort to stop by more often.
We had the $69 set of 8 tapa plates which was excellent value, service was wonderful, wine selection good and knowledgeable staff on the Sherry selection. Definitely a hidden gem. Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday night only.
Great little place with excellent small plates & cocktail selections. Friendly staff and tasty food. We will be back.
Amazing food and attentive staff, great experience all around.
Delicious tapas, raw oysters, service, everything is top notch here.
Went for happy hour. No good options, baked oysters were off the menu for the day. Drinks are tje same anywhere else.
Always delicious!
Awesome food and service. We tried the beets, scallops, cauliflower salad and their ribs. All their dishes were really flavourful and our server was really friendly and gave great service. Definitely going back to try more of their dishes!
Came here for dine around. It was excellent. Had nice local beer pairings for each of the dishes. Definitely come try the food here.
Absolutely wonderful evening! Great food. Great wine!
Stumbled in looking for a late-night bite after a long day. Cozy, classy, unassuming. Service was excellent, great recommendations. I tried the oysters, beet salad with a hummus & tahini sauce, and bacon-wrapped blue cheese dates. All bites were fantastic, but the dates really rocked my world, especially paired with the Malbec. Only critique - I wish there were more by-the-glass wine selections. Would definitely recommend, and will certainly be back.
They nail the SPanish tapa bar ambience they are going for. I am from Spain and it almost died of nostalgia and homesickness there. It´s a sophisticated version or a tapas bar that keeps the charm intact.
The bread was probably the best we have came cross in Victoria restaurants (we go out twice a week): warm and crusty, firm but not dense. The ambience was very nice too, open space, big windows, bricks wall, provoking an intimate old world feeling. We were happy with the service, but not all happy with the food. The octopus chorizo dish was a huge disappointment - outrageous over priced for a few small pieces of octopus and thin see through chorizo... The Tuna was a 5 star winner, delicate yet full of flavor and well presented. The beef short rib was good, but not awe inspiring. If you like Spanish tapa, this restaurant is a good choice.
We went to eat oysters and didnt try any other dishes except for a tapa of slightly strange smoked olives.
Lovely setting but a little hard to find. Food and drinks were really good. Relatively inexpensive. Could be a little more adventuresome with the menu but enjoyed the experience and the wait staff was attentive and friendly without being intrusive.
Some delicious tapas!! Great wine pairing and knowledgeable service!
Very nice and tasty
Just wow! Every single item was delicious.
Amazing tapas. One of my favorite spots for a date night without breaking the bank.
You come here for the fine selection of drinks and the tapas. The atmosphere is unique, and if you dont look out the window, it does feel as if you are in a different time and place. Its unfortunate that it has an odd schedule but I guess its because the venue is used for a lot of private events? Nonetheless, its a great place, with the music at the right volume and the right space between tables too!
Great food! The polpo and chorizo was incredible!
Had an excellent meal here. The dates with bacon, blue cheese and honey were incredible! Staff was very friendly and the cocktails were awesome!
Amazing bacon wrapped dates with blue cheese and drizzled in honey!
Always love it here!
Awesome little spot, great atmosphere. Perfect if you like sharing food, take your time and enjoy the wine
Most are good, some are bit over cook!
Personally the best tapas place in downtown by far. Their menu has a wide variety of small plates and larger to-share plates that should intrigue anyone who eats there. I took my parents there on their last visit just over a week ago, and they re pretty particular about their food and wine, and they left very satisfied with both. We were treated well by our server, who had her first day in that area of the Ferris family of restaurants (but had served in others) and still knew a lot about the menu and even had some suggestions, which were great. It s a bit of a search to find it, as it s up the steps next to Ferris Grill, and to the right through another smaller doorway from their oyster bar. I m not sure if it s accessible any other way than by stairs. All in all, the ambience and atmosphere is cozy and intimate, and their food was delicious and satisfying. Definitely coming back!
Good food
One of the best tapa places in town. Great service and awesome food. Definitely get the octopus and the chorizo puffs.
A hidden gem.
Really recommend the set tapas menu for two. Absolutely delicious, phenomenal food. Good service as well. Tasty cocktails rounded out the experience. We left the place completely stuffed and with huge smiles on.
Fantastic Tapas bar. The classics are done quite well, with a few delicious twists thrown in. For example, stuffed piquillo peppers are pretty normal. They do it with black rice and a chorizo infused cream sauce that was insanely good. Loved this dish. The wine list was small, especially by the glass. But, the two wines I tried were both excellent. Highly recommend eating here if you are looking for spanish tapas.
The dinner for 2 is amazing and doesnt leave you feeling hungry
I recommend the dinner for two; nice variety and very tasty
I am originally from Spain, and this is probably the best Spanish restaurant I have ever been to in North America. The Spain-wide representative dish selection and flavours are authentic from my country. Service is very friendly and the atmosphere reminds of a real Spanish taverna. I would definitely recommend this place for a delicious and romantic dinner.
Love it here. Delicious tapas and great ambience.
Loved it!
Great place for functions! Delicious food in a private area.
We attend a Christmas party here every year and it is always the best. The staff are friendly and engaged, and the food is excellent.
So good every time!
Every dish is terrific, very excellent attention to detail is noticable, one of my favorite dining experiences.
Always awesome. The scallops and creme brulle are wonderful
Delicious
Food is delicious, but the portions are a bit too small compared to other tapas restaurants in town.
Awesome little place with absolutely delicious tapas.
Excellent place, great food and great cocktails, very friendly staff and very accommodating... have to put up with the tapas idea, unless you just order one dish at a time to avoid that.
Nice place to chill with a glass of something. Good vibe
This restaurant has something for everyone. Choices are fresh and carefully prepared with fresh local ingredients. We were well cared for in the private room during a meeting and friendly staff made for a good evening. Check out the small patio in good weather
The location of this place is ideal. The food is good quality, but a little on the small side compared to some of the other places in town. Would still recommend.
Excellent cocktails. Good sangria. Wonderful and unusual tapas. Killer oysters and marrow bone dishes. The service was a little slow and cool though certainly adequate.
Good food, excellent cocktails and impressive selection of whiskey
Great service, flavourful dishes and a perfect selection of wine to pair with them!
Amazing! Loved their food and atmosphere. Plates were just the right size/price and absolutely delicious. My only complaint is that the bar service was very slow. Will definitely be going back :)
