680 Broughton St, Victoria, BC V8W 2C1, Canada
Family-owned, Women-owned, small business. Serves Tibetan and Himalayan dishes. Vegan and Vegetarian options available! We close for lunch break from 3-5pm.
I’ve been eyeing this place for a while and finally gave it a try. The service was slow, with only two people working—one in the kitchen and one in the hall. The beef momo was a bit of a letdown; it had a gamey flavor, almost like lamb or deer. I’m curious if the other momo options would have been better. I also noticed some people got fried momos, which would’ve been nice to know about. Chai tea was just as what you would expected. On the positive side, the thenthuk was a comforting, Asian-style chicken noodle soup that hit the spot. The lamb curry was tasty, though the rice felt a bit old, and the bread was too greasy for my liking. Still, I’d return just for the thenthuk.
Food was amazing! Atmosphere was calm. Reasonably priced. Will definitely return!
We recently visited a Tibetan kitchen restaurant during a day trip to Victoria, Canada, with a group of Nepalese friends. Naturally, we were drawn to this place because it reminded us of the momo and thenthuk we often enjoyed back home in Nepal. The experience did not disappoint! I ordered both momo and thenthuk, and they were absolutely delicious—authentic, flavorful, and truly satisfying. The service was excellent as well; the staff were quick, friendly, and attentive. Bonus points for offering free Wi-Fi, which made the experience even better. Overall, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy authentic Tibetan food. Highly recommended for anyone craving these dishes or wanting to try something new
Very nice ambience and good service. I would have given 5 stars if the chicken in the chicken cashew curry was a bit more cooked, it seemed slightly undercooked but the curry and the momos were delicious.
Relaxed and unpretentious, Tibetan Kitchen Cafe is a well-priced, delicious spot for unique Tibetan flavors. Many great vegetarian and vegan options. We tried the veg momos, veg curry, and thukpa (miso based veg soup), all lovely. Mango lassi was perfect, and the service was warm and friendly. Would also be a great spot to dine solo. We'll be back!
Fantastic experience at this restaurant! The chicken momo, chicken chowmein, and lamb keema lunch set were all delicious. Each dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and generously portioned. The service was friendly and quick. Highly recommend this place—definitely coming back!
Very average stir fry , price does not justify the quantity or quality. Tibetan momos were good but size and quantity was pathetic compared to the so high price. Ambience is average , no proper air conditioning inside.
Delicious lamb curry, which I ordered with mild spicing. I had Mango Lassi which I loved. A fun Saturday evening and I will be going back. Picture taken after eating some, as I was loving it.
Okay i usually dont come over to make a google review but this time i felt its necessary. I came into this place on dec1 and ordered veg noodles. They were hell a spicy and secondly the service was the worse part. I dont know but lady who was serving us didn t had positive attitude towards us, she seems rude and arrogant for no reason. Like we came here to enjoy not to bear unpleasant attitude of someone. Secondly, she didn t even offer us any plates or anything. Just gave us a food in a thing in which it comes with. No side utensils. Okayy i wont come here ever again. Hope you guys do better in future
Holy moly. Our first time here and we were blown away by the amazing food. We had paneer and thenthuk noodles that melted in your mouth. We will 100% be back. Highly recommend
Shyabhale was the star of the show but every other dishes were superb!!! It took we away reminding me of hometown boudha At the end shout out to tenzin sis for awesome service and care!!! Thank You Food
Went on a Saturday night as I heard it was excellent for lunch. However possibly the worst 2 meals I have ever had in a restaurant. Chicken Curry and Chicken Stir Fry with absolutely no flavour.
Delicious momo (dumplings) and prawn shabta. Nice, unpretentious restaurant with good food. And really reasonably priced with generous serving size. The brown rice option is great and very tasty.
I usually LOVE Tibetan cuisine. This was not an authentic Tibetan culinary experience. My husband and I tried it twice and we both ended up with the following results: 1st visit 3. non veg dishes were ordered. = Indigestion and diarhea 2nd visit 2 Veg dishes were ordered = stomach ache and diarhea. Something in there is awfully artificially flavoured. yes, the music and the ambience is relaxing and soothing but wont come back unfortunately.
Ordered the vegetarian Momo and veggie stir fry. Spice level we chose was hot (options were mild, hot, and very hot) Stir fry was OK - mostly carrot slices and peas and flavor was raw spiciness so no standout taste or spices. The Momo was very good - 8-10 pieces and the tomato garlic chutney was perfectly spicy and tangy. We really enjoyed the Momo. They were out of tea when we went at night so couldn t try the masala chai.
This is easily one of the best and most unique restaurants in Victoria. 100% go here for a meal! The staff are so kind, they serve incredibly taste food, and the décor, music and vibe are great. The food is very hearty, with great curries, momos (dumplings), and a range of other interesting Tibetan options. Excellent spot for a family meal, date night, or simply eating alone in a peaceful vibey environment.
LOVE this cozy little place! Such good food and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Great portion sizes and they set the spice level to your tastes. One of our favorite spots for a good meal.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian curry, vegetarian momo Food
What a wonderful experience. Food was amazing and authentic! Service was good. Atmosphere was very nice. Did I mention the food was great. Looking forward to more Momos!!!! Yummmmm! and we got to support local!!! yay! Food : 5/5 |
Lovely restaurant, friendly service, amazing and tasty Tibetan cuisine
Food is good and tasty, but portions are children size. 8 momo is not a main dish, it is an appetizer. Went to another restaurant to get some decent portions.
Excellent Momos and other tibetan dishes.
The hand pulled noodle soup had a delicious broth, great noodles and lovely spice. The ambience was a bit lacking, however I was there at lunch vs dinner. I would definitely give it another try.
affordable price, generous quantity, and absolutely succulent dishes. Absolutely perfect service and incredible kindness. I absolutely recommend it.
Incredible food, new cuisine that was unlocked for us and is now a top favorite.
Was here yesterday for lunch and there were 3 mice/rats running around the kitchen and bathroom area. It was very gross, even though the food was okay, seeing the little vermin and more than 1 (3, that went in different direction, one towards the bathroom, one behind the till, and one towards the prep-area in the kitchen!!) Was so gross. Pls get a rodent-remover/ pest-fixer, as you must have an infestation if the rodents are running around in broad daylight. No food poisoning this morning but wont go back there again. The service was wonderful, but the pests are literally dangerous.
Amazing place. Everything is good here. They make everything to order and fresh in house. The momos bring back memories of my childhood. Would say the same about Thukpa. Highly recommend this place. My go to spot when I am in Victoria
Wonderful atmosphere. Well priced. Delicious
Visited today! Excellent taste! Chicken momos and noodles were delicious!!
Awesome food. The momos along with the chutney were delicious. We also tried the chicken noodles and they were amazing. Highly recommended!!!
Ive been here a few times with my sister and mother, and just recently came here on a date, because I knew that it served food that fit dietary restrictions. Wonderful service, great food, and the lassi is so good it should be government regulated!
Tried their authentic Thukpa, it was delicious, especially the spicy version it s so yummm! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Food
The food was delicious and authentic. Service was excellent and the vibe of the place is absolutely worth every cent . The chicken moms , thukpa , onion ring , fried kale and veg fried rice were lip smacking . We will definitely go back again and again .
YOU GOTTA EAT HERE!! Visited this hidden gem during a recent trip to Victoria in Mar 24. Staff is super friendly, food is amazing and vibe is super chill! Group of 9, we ordered chai, beer, kale and onion rings x 2, veg. fried rice, veg thukpa x 2, chicken thukpa, veg momos, chicken momos, veg noodles x 2, shrimp shepta, gulab jamun. Dishes are reasonably priced. This is a must try for everyone!! I ll be visiting Victoria again just to dine at this restaurant!
Delicious food and incredible Chai. The two people who own it and work there are lovely and the interior is darling.
Excellent food with meat and vegetarian options. Vegetarian options: A lot of vegetarian options, mirroring the meat options. Equally tasty. Dietary restrictions: Lactose intolerant and had no issues finding delicious options.
The vegetarian Momos and the vegetarian Shaptha were very tasty. The staff were friendly and the ambience was calming.
I loved the food, delicious, affordable. Will be coming back for sure
Parents and I stumbled upon this place while walking around downtown Victoria. Great food.
Very bland and very much overpriced for both the serving size as well as the ingredients used. Would not recommend.
It s just too expensive for what it is. The food was good, the portions are way too small, and the prices are just too high for little portion of somewhat simple, quick and basic recipes. We ordered Veg Shapta. It barely had 4 leaves of baby spinach and some chopped veg, piece or 2 of tofu on hardly a handful of basic boiled noodles.. I am 5 6, 160 lbs middle aged man, not a very big eater. This was a far cry for a full meal for an 18CAD dish. I ate a slice of pizza after my lunch.
Not actually open, closed till March 5th . Sad.
Delicious Vegetarian options: Plenty of tasty vegetarian and vegan options. Food : 5/5 |
Great healthy comforting food, peaceful atmosphere. Loved the mixed veg curry, came with white or brown rice, lentil soup, and bread. Super fresh and yummy. Plenty of glutenfree and vegan/vegetarian options. Would love to come back if I lived closer!
Reasonable prices, delicious food! The schedule is unpredictable :)
Best fresh handmade juicy momo (dumling)in bc,
The experience here has been okayish as the momos I ordered didnt really live upto my expectations, it s definitely one of the better momo places than others maybe as per my experience, the service was too slow as I had to wait probably more than 30 minutes just for a plate of steamed momos. The atmosphere was fair, not very fascinating but calm and quiet Id say. Vegetarian options: Has vegetable momos
Ive been to Dharamsala/Mcleodganj, the place where HH Dalai Lama stays, multiple times and therefore have a high bar for Tibetian momos. This restaurant does justice to the momos- theres substantial filling and lots of flavor with right amount of juices/fat. Only thing I missed was more chutneys. Also love the chai here- always made fresh and with right hint of ginger.
After a long time felt like home. Being a North- East Indian, we have very few options in Canada. So enjoyed the food a lot. On top of that, got a chance to flaunt Assamese with wonderful lady(dont want to give the name away) of the restaurant . Beautiful memory.
Food is excellent. MOMOS are exceptional. Service is genuine. Definitely recommend
Visited this place few times with friends. Being bhutanese in Victoria, we love the lady speaking our regional language. Food menu they have Tibetan and indian food. Love their dumplings (momos) and thenthup. Service is ok , as the place is busy all the time so have to wait sometimes . Must visit if you want to try Tibetan food.
We love love love it here! We eat here at least twice each time we come to Victoria! The food is INCREDIBLE. Seriously. You just have to try it. The flavors are amazing and the ladies that work there are so sweet. The food is made with love for sure. Highly recommend. Omg get their momos, fried rice and soup!
Supremely tasty, well portioned, and reasonably priced!
This place legit has tge best food ever! Thenthuk is the bomb!
People need to understand that India has a very unique dumplings sauce and the only Indian restaurant that has it in Victoria is Tibetian Kitchen You ask.for most spicy and you wont regret it Make sure you go there !!
Delicious food with a really nice atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back soon!
Amazing food with a cute atmosphere.
I dont know anything about Tibetan food but what I had there was so good that I will definitely go back to try other dishes. Go early as its busy.
Friendly service, a nice calm space to enjoy authentic meals. The homemade chai tea is the best!
Momo was super delicious, Pakora Don t forget to try their momos.
One of the nice place to have Tibetan food very welcoming service staff with smile quickly serve water on the table . I never ate tasty momos like this before in my life and sauce are very nice and enough for 1 person.
Soooo good! So much flavour! First time I ve been and I ll be back for sure!
Delicious food. A little hidden gem.
I really enjoyed this place. Very authentic, with a nice family run vibe. Food was healthy and delicious, plus the little buns served with the dish were exceptional. Well worth a visit
Amazing momos and thukpa.
Enjoyable and quiet atmosphere.
Enjoyable food and atmosphere.
5 Tibetan Momos out of 5. Must order: any curry so that you can melt over the purees that are served alongside. So good!
Two women run the restaurant and are really nice and friendly. The food was delicious - ordered momos & thukpa. They were ready to close after lunch but happily made chai at the last minute, and even spent time chatting with us.
Pathetic experience, no water asked, no cutlery given - you would have to stand up and go to their plates section to get cutlery. Asked for momo- they present you a plate of oil and that to broken and raw pieces. In reply you get an feedback- that s how it is.
Had the momos and noodles, extremely disappointed by the bland taste and overall unsatisfactoy portions for the expensive prices theyre charging. It all felt very uninspired and lazy, banking on people to come for the Tibetan name with nothing to show for it. My friend didnt make any comment about the experience, but Im pretty sure neither of us will be returning.
I see people complaint about oil or bland taste. But i had the best momos in BC so far. We were visiting from vancouver and we dont have it here..Coming from Bhutan and knowing how it should be it was the best chicken and pork momo we had. It was juicy. Chicken thukpa was on point. Will definitly come back to try more but manybe next summer. Thanks to 2 friendly hardworking women Parking: Paid parking across the street
The best momos in town
The owner of the restaurant Tenzin attended so happily and Provided good customer service. The flavours of food gives you Indian taste . Delicious momos!! Food : 5/5
Best chicken momos I had in town today Please call them if you are missing Indian momos Food
We dined in to get the pork momos. There was a weird loud buzzing noise throughout the restaurant - not the end of the world but it was a bit off-putting. The lady gave us a good service but didn t seem that keen to have us around. The momos were delicious - juicy and fatty! But, they didn t have enough flavour in my opinion. They just tasted like pork dumplings, not like Tibetan momos. Overall, I wasn t overwhelmingly satisfied with the experience.
The staff was patient and the food was spicy (I requested for spicy). Overall really good experience!
Prepare to be dazzled by the unforgettable experience at the Tibetan Kitchen Cafe! From the moment you step foot inside, youll be transported to the enchanting streets of Lhasa. The alluring aromas and authentic flavors will awaken your senses and evoke cherished memories of Tibetan cuisine. The culinary journey begins with a symphony of flavors that dance harmoniously on your palate. Each dish is a masterpiece, carefully crafted to capture the essence of traditional Tibetan fare. I havent encountered such delectable Tibetan food that closely resembles what youd savor within the country itself. Its a true culinary revelation! But hold on, it gets even better! The exceptional service provided by the wait staff adds an extra touch of brilliance to the entire experience. During our visit for a delightful lunch, my dining companion, who was new to Tibetan cuisine, was guided through the menu with such grace and expertise. The attentive server patiently explained each dish, ensuring he made an educated selection that perfectly suited his preferences. The lamb curry was a revelation - an explosion of flavors that left us craving for more. In fact, my dining companion enjoyed it so much that he couldnt resist requesting a second bowl of rice to savor every last drop of the exquisite sauce. As for my choice, the Tiger Prawn Shaptak, it was a divine revelation. Each succulent prawn was generously coated in a tantalizing blend of spices that delighted my taste buds with every single bite. The dish was an impeccable balance of bold and harmonious flavors. While we didnt try the various flavored momos ourselves, we couldnt help but notice the blissful expressions on the faces of fellow diners as they savored these delicate treats. Their joyous reactions were a testament to the sheer magnificence of Tibetan Kitchen Cafes culinary offerings. If you crave a thrilling dining adventure with a spicy foreign flare, Tibetan Kitchen Cafe is an absolute must-visit destination. The authenticity, warmth, and richness of the experience will leave you with lasting memories and a desire to return for more. So dont hesitate - embark on this gastronomic voyage and be enchanted by the magic of Tibetan cuisine.
I love this restaurant. The food is delicious, well prepared and the ingredients are locally sourced. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing; the staff are kind and helpful. I love all the Buddhist quotes on the wall.
Authentic food. Momos and chicken curry were good. Food
Great food. Affordable prices. Wonderful service and environment. Very enjoyable
The BEST dumplings ever (gotta get the Pork Momo). So fresh and delicious. Cant stop going back
I love it here and come whenever I can. Family owned, wonderfully cooked, and great value. Highly recommend.
Absolutely wonderful service. Delicious food and good sized portions. Our server was very kind and explained the different dishes to us. Thank you so much for the wonderful meal.
Loved the soup and the dumplings. Thenthuk chicken and Momo. You will love it! Food : 5/5
They have delicious Momos (Steamed/fried) and the chutney is my favourite. Thats all what I always have from here. Its best to go and have the momos in the Cafe as they usually dont stay fresh while ordering home. The Cafe has a beautiful decor and the vibes are amazing! But sometimes it does feel very suffocating and humid inside. Rooting for Momos !!
Awesome little gem, I have no idea how I missed this place for so long! I had the vegetarian curry, very tasty and plentiful!! The atmosphere is super chill, love it!
Returning after 10 years to find this charming eaterie is still very special. Wholesome, uniquely Tibetan foods. The curries combined with brown rice and small breads were both excellent. Thank you! Vegetarian options: Plenty of choices.
I enjoyed it so much :) Especially Beef Momoga It was my first time eating Tibetan food, but I highly recommend it
Food was delicious. We had Momos, the handmade noodle soup, and the lamb curry. Our children loved it too.
will come back! delicious curry (plant based/cashew). excellent for vegetarian and vegan food, gluten free options. calming atmosphere. might be nice to have a bottle of water to top up glasses at the table :) friendly staff, won t come by your table to check in which i liked, just to serve/clear dishes Vegetarian options: flavourful, well spiced, warm and comforting Dietary restrictions: vegan, vegetarian, gluten free options Wheelchair accessibility: small restaurant, no stairs to access
One of my favourite spots in Vic!
We had lamb curry and pork momo and loved both!
So, we decided to try this place after hearing good things about them, unfortunately when we planned to go there, we got to know they are closing in 5 min, vs we were 15 minutes away from them. But, for our first visit regard they took our take away order for Paneer Momos , it was so delicious, we were able to felt the freshness, even without tasting by the steam coming out with tempting flavour. Spicy chutney (sauce) on side was cherry on top, and went very well to have a perfect flavour of asian spicy. Will definitely come back very soon.
Decent food. We had Vegetable Momo and Mix Vegetable Curry. The curry comes with a side of rice, 2 poori and lentil soup. The curry was tasty and so was the soup. The momo felt a little bland and we needed an extra serving of the hot sauce along.
Nice for a change. I don t recall eating here recently so we popped in for lunch. Interesting menu. I had the vegetarian Shapta. First taste is great!
Can t recommend this place enough! It s so so good delicious gluten free options!
Best Tibetan food in Victoria!
Very good food, service and ambience. Strongly recommended. My most favorite dish Momos (pork).
Delicious food!
The Tibetan Kitchen Cafe. Takeaway- Great for lunch! Quick service, get the Shapta. Not so much a Café, but more of a very clean, cozy Tibetan restaurant with one to many tables. It feels a bit cramped but the affordability of the menu and the dishes will leave you full and happy. The Shapta, not served on a bed with a choice of rice, on the menu, but served on a bed of rice. Is to die for. A great mix of flavours and aroma, this is by far their best dish, 5/5 A close second is the Momo, they really embrace the rich flavours that Tibetan cuisine provides. The if youre looking for a safe dish for your friends who are afraid to try new food, this dish would be the ShaBakleb. Essential ground beef in a pastry shell. The taste is sweet and it is very filling. However it was watery, I cut it in half, used a fork to keep the filling in, and squeezed a plateful of juices out which was... not visually appealing but still the meal was good with a very selective hot sauce. After sautéing your ground beef, i would drain it, and then use the drippings to make a light gravy and reintroduce that into your meat, that way it doesnt get dry and we dont get a plate full of water and oil. My biggest concern was the water glasses were not clean, maybe its a dish washing machine issue, or perhaps no buffing of glasses, but otherwise a very tidy and clean environment. What is also cool is how the beverages are served in chilled mugs! I would suggest this to a friend for sure.
lovely dinner. you can trust them if you order medium spiciness
Very good food and proper spice level with quick service.i would highly recommend it great fusion to enjoy Indian Nepalese and Tibetan food.
Very good food. A fusion of Tibetan, Indian, northeast and Naplese food at reasonable prices
Loved the lamb curry and the momo! Exceeded my expectations!
Very nice family dinner. Looking forward to more in the future.
Just tried this place and was really happy with the tasty dishes ordered. Good vegetarian options. The Momo was really great!
Momo tastes good
You have the most authentic food ever!! I loved it!
Delicious ! Generous portion
This is one of the best tasting restaurant in Victoria, especially if you like curry. I would strongly recommend the lunch curries & Thenthuk.
Authentic Tibetan restaurant. If you are someone like me who loves Spicy noodles, moms, sweet Gulab Jamun and more, then give this restaurant a try. Staff is super cooperative and exemplary in service. Wait time is less too. Soothing ambience and Tibetan music thats calming. I love this place and highly recommend.
Really good momos and the thenthuk was very wholesome! Will be coming back for more dishes for sure
Fabulous food and great service as usual.
Ordered Chicken Momo and Beef Shapta for a take out dinner. Ive had Tibetan food before(all cozy little places run by Tibetan families) and this one matches up with them. Ive not been to Tibet to confirm the authenticity but its very consistent with the ones Ive had before. Staff was very nice and accommodating.
Great food and warm, friendly staff. Highly reccomend the miso soup!
This is one of the best restaurants in Victoria downtown.Very calm environment and super tasty food.A must visit place if you want real taste of Tibet while sitting in beautiful British Columbia.
Kale and onion ring pakoras definitely recommended.. Loved the momos too! Good ambience. :)
Friendly service, excellent chicken curry as well as other dishes
Very delicious! Portions are great, very flavourful, fresh tasting food. I recommend the palak paneer medium heat. Gorgeous dish
Loved the food and environment. Felt like I am in Tibet ( though I have never been there).
Highly recommend eating at the Tibetan Kitchen Cafe. Food is homemade, fresh, and delicious. The service is friendly, helpful, and kind without being cloying. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and beautiful on the inside. I had the vegetarian momos, & they were fantastic. There is clearly respect and time put into making the food. Great job!
Great food and ambience. Not too expensive and a great choice for vegetarians like me
Excellent healthy food Can get drinks such as beer. Hours of operation somewhat restricted
Nice, calm & friendly place with tasty veggie food
Amazing food. The momos...
Amazing people and best authentic food.
Tried calling to the restaurant to make an advance order before stopping by at noon; got answering machine stating closed dates for Dec 2021 which is weird for a first time customer in late Oct 2022? Didnt leave a message figuring it probably wont make too much of a difference. Not going to bother with delivery services as nowadays it costs way more to use them when my temp job is one block away. Came in, server is quite prompt taking my order as soon as she took orders from customers before me which is fair. Food came in reasonable time considering it looks like one server & one cook in the establishment. I could have done takeout but like the unique ambiance of the place & wanted to try a dine in lunch experience. Lunch lamb curry was amazing, packed a delicious punch in flavor. Medium spice heat I ordered is quite up there & was close to my level limit; wondered how spicy hot is? (Im laughing mentally because my ex-boyfriend with absolute zero heat tolerance would not thrive unless the restaurant offers a zero heat option?) On a serious note, if anyone has a severe lack of spicy heat tolerance, please triple check with the server upon ordering. Server was free enough to walk around with a water pitcher but never stopped by to check upon me for first taste or anything else. Did tell her when I walked to the till to get my bill to pay about compliments to the chef & my gratitude for the tasty & filling meal that was obviously made with humble TLC. The meal is a real winner, good value, & the spice did well to clear my nasal congestion & nagging post-common cold cough. Definitely will become my go to lunch spot whenever I neglect to pack a filling meal to work & will recommend for dinners too. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options in the menu which is very easy to read & straightforward. Dietary restrictions: There are vegan & gluten free options in the menu. General common sense in any restaurant, in addition to alerting any food allergies, always check with the server to ensure food is prepped separately in the kitchen to prevent chances of accidental cross-contamination Safety first! Parking: Broughton Street parkade is definitely best bet with 1 hour free parking when available & free parking there after 6pm & all day Sundays. Otherwise subject to standard parking rates there and street parking. Kid-friendliness: Food is kid-friendly as long as spice level for curry can be requested as zero heat. Meat curry doesnt have any bones so no choking hazards. Wheelchair accessibility: Door not automated for wheelchair accessibility but chairs can be easily cleared away to make spacing & clearance for in-dining experience.
tried the momos, gyathuk and shapta and had one of the best meals highly recommend
Ambient environment, delicious food, and great service. I would recommend the Momos and Shapta.
Chicken momos are great so juicy fresh great staff must visit Vegetarian options: Nice Noodles
Love it, love it, love it! I have been a regular customer here for the last 5 years and came with different friends - we were never disappointed! I love pork momos - so delicious! Their meat is supplied by local island farms. All curries are cooked with cream of cashew, are gluten free an dairy free. Nice calming atmosphere. Dalai Lama quotes on the walls are a very nice touch. Next to a lot of parking spots - never had an issue. The staff is always friendly and attentive.
One of my favorite restaurants in Victoria
Love the momos and shepta.
Great atmosphere. Very tasty authentic dishes (at least I thinks so , Ive only been to Nepal) Many are vegan or vegetarian even though they are not marked that way on the menu so ask. Flavors were very unique. We started with veggie momos which come with a tasty sauce, these took me right back to the Himalayas. We also had veggie curry, thukpa, the think and shapta. All portions are large. Be sure to tell them how spicy you like your food and theyll adjust. I highly recommend this restauran whether youre a vegetarian, vegan or meat eater.
Great food and atmosphere as always!
Tasty as can be lets goooo
One of our go to restaurants in downtown Victoria. The food here is so refreshing and feels like home and from the lap of the Himalayas. Their momos/ dumplings are just amazing. Wonderful service and we always feel welcome.
When we just got to the restaurant, there are only a table with 2 guests there. Then the place got busy quickly. I m not a big fan of curries but the curries here are just different and so so good, probably the best. We had pork momos, lamb and shrimp curry, all were tasty. Service is friendly but a bit slow and not very attentive. I also like the atmosphere and the decoration of the restaurant.
Great food. Momos were delicious and the noodle was good.
Really good vibe in restaurant. Good food have many vegan and vegetarian options.
The curry is to die for!! I cant stop eating here and the momos are delicious
Love the staff and food. I recommend the lamb dish!
One of my fondest dinning experiences. I really enjoyed my meal and the service was so nice
I have been there twice, and both times the food surpassed my expectations. Definitely a place worth trying.
I ordered on Doordash and waited about 45 minutes for you to accept the order, and then out of no reason my order got cancelled. Worst experience ever. If you dont want to accept the order please cancel it early. Dont make a customer wait. Thanks
Service: impeccable and timely Menu: easy to navigate; Vegan and Vegetarian and Gluten free options available!!!! Hooray!!!! And delicious! Portions: sizeable enough that plate prices yield good value for money VERY impressed with the veggie stir-fry! Impressed with the Momos! Atmosphere in restaurant is comfortable / relaxed. If a person is dining in, the space features photography; historical and cultural information on Tibet; wrapped inTibetan decor. Our plates were flavourful, hot and steamy and enjoyable. We enjoyed visiting on a Tuesday at the lunch - hour. We will be back, and we recommend.
Went there on a whim for the first time and ended up having the best curry I ve had in years. Excellent quality and kind service. Highly recommend.
Awesome food and nice service.vegetarian options are so much, menu is so impressive.
Awesome food and customer services BEST MOMOS in canada
Best momos Ive had in a while Crazy good spices
Great momos! Will come back again for sure.
A must! Great food, great service!
Its the first time in my life that I try Tibetan cuisine and this place made me a fan! Super delicious, deep tastes and flavors and amazing service. Great job
After a big greasy night out on the town I woke up feeling like I was going to pass away. The Thenthuk chicken soup from here brought me back to life
Loved the food. First time trying. And all the dishes came quickly. Would try again
Tasteless momos. Ambiance is decent. Not worth the money.
The food was nice and warm when it was served and tasted fantastic.
Underwhelming Overcooked beef Ridiculous broth in the soup Momos didnt feel fresh Service was meh
Such a good Momo and chickpea salad!! The sauce was great too! I ll definitely be back
Great food at the best prices
I tried the chicken curry and the momo, both are amazing and delicious. The owner and the servers are friendly and the whole experience is lovely. I will try it again for sure
Reasonably priced. Good food.
Service was very very slow.... we tried Vegeterian momos and that was very tasty..
Amazing food that reminds me of home. A must visit if youre in Victoria. The momos are a must try!
This place is awesome and especially for Vegans! So many choices and everything was delicious. The staff were very accomodating. I had the Momos with cilantro hot sauce and the curried vegetable shapta with tofu that was outstanding. I recommend it highly.
Absolutely phenomenal vegan options. Pooris is fantastic.
Really unique and delicious flavors for a great value. Really friendly service too! Will be back:)
Was impressed by the Curry, seems family operated, feels like the kind of place I want to support
Scrumptious authentic Tibetan food served in a dining room decorated with artifacts imported from Tibet. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful and we had an all round wonderful experience dining in this restaurant and I cant recommend it highly enough. Will definitely be come-back!
I came back and left happy and full Must place to visit in Victoria. Authentic! Delicious! Great portions and sizes Is a Tibetan gem hidden in BC
Took my family here to try momos and they loved them and the food here. A great way to warm up after being out in the rain. Thank you!
Best food I have had in a long while, 2nd time going but been a long time since I visited and I was blown away how yummy it was. Price was great, portions were good, and place was busy which is always a great indicator. Will be back much sooner than previously!!
The place is awesome, the staff and the management is superb. I don t have enough words to explain the level of food, it is beyond awesome. The chef understood the kind of spice level and the spices which we required in the food. Thank you so much for help us satisfy our taste buds.
Pro: staff are nice con: the veggie momos were soggy and not something I could recommend, I guess the meat based ones might be better
Ordered the chicken curry and momos, the flavors are subtle and could be a tad bit improved...but still enjoyable. I have to give a plus 1 star just for amazing portions with juicy chunks of meat. Most restaurants add way less meat and way too much curry, thats plain unfair. Good value for money!
This place has some of the best food in Victoria. Tibetan food is like a mix between Indian and Chinese with the best flavours of them all. Executed perfectly at the Tibetan kitchen cafe. The portions are also massive, amazing value for money. Photos are of the pakoras, beef Momos, and lamb curry. Everything is made from scratch in house.
Tasty food, friendly service, relaxing atmosphere, beautiful decor - all round a great restaurant! Thanks for another lovely evening!
Some of the Best Food in Victoria Pakora - best Ive ever had Chicken curry - also best Ive ever had
Really good!!! Spicy and full of flavours! We also had a superb service and the plate size were good. I strongly recommend!
Good food and very friendly staff.
The food is so fresh and delicious. The servers were very covid aware and they went out of their way to make sure we were safe and really spaced us out. Highly recommend.
Wonderful food and staff!
Great spot with fresh, local ingredients. Momos and curries were both excellent.
Tasty, food. Prepared with care. It gives you a home feeling
So homely, loved the veg Momos, reminded me of my days back in new Delhi, the sauce is spicy mind you but that sauce is why you taste the veggies is that tingling manner. So give your senses something to play with.
Amazing food! Best in the city!
Easily one of the best hidden gems in Victoria. Follows covid protocols. Highly recommend the pork momo, lamb curry, or the chicken shapta.
Food is top notch, but they added a hidden charge to my takeout order and tried to hide it from me. They didn t let me know until after I paid and requested a receipt because I noticed the amount was inconsistent with their phone quote. They added an extra fee for takeout containers, which would be ok if it was on their website or if they informed the customer. It feels shady and leaves a bad impression.
Best hidden gem in Victoria. Our fave place for curries. They have a delicious vegan cashew curry that is the tastiest. They use local ingredients where possible. Generous servings and great prices. Highly recommended!
