I am a middle eastern guy, hummus lamb comes cold, fries are cold and definitely not fresh, ordered on door dash, called to see of i can see what when wrong, answered by a person who doesn t speak any english, and refused to give me to speak to a manager. Friends and I used to **love** this place and the maqli wrap in particular. However, all of us have noticed that recently its really thinned out. So we order a lot less frequently than we used to Flavours are still there, but its just a little disappointing portion-wise. Id be willing to pay a couple dollars more to get it back to where it was if its a cost thing.

This is the worst service I have experienced in a restaurant in Canada in 15 years. I ordered two takeout meals and told the server when I placed the order that I wanted them to go. One Persian lamb pita and one lamb shak. She asked if I wanted the pita cut, and I said yes, but she didn t tell me there would be an extra charge for that. I let that go because I was in a hurry. But what really upset me was that she handed me the food directly, without putting it in a paper bag, without utensils, nothing. I even asked her, Don t you have a bag? because I couldn t carry two meals in my hands all the way home. But she said they didn t have any. Then, right at that moment, a delivery person came to pick up an order, and the server pulled out a paper bag for them. I immediately said, Didn t you just say there were no bags? What s that you re giving him? Only then did she give me a bag, but didn t help me pack the food. And he kept rolling her eyes the entire time. I don t want to say she was being racist, but her attitude towards other customers was completely different. This is an extremely, extremely, extremely bad restaurant. I m traveling here, and this ruined what had been a good day for me. If the lowest rating is zero star, I d give it zero if I could

The best chicken kabob I have ever had! The chicken was tender. There were some nice grilled vegetables added to the beautiful homemade rice with a beautiful color of saffron. I recommend the place for take out or dine in. The atmosphere is pleasant. The service is fast and the food is freshly made. If you visit Victoria and you miss your moms cooking and you are from Middle East, thats your best bet!

We did take out and the food was very good. We got a few appetizers and shawarma.. They forgot to pack condiments and I did not check. if you do takeout double check that your condiments are in the bag.

We ve been here a couple of times for lunch and the food and staff have been wonderful. We took our daughter who has been traveling throughout Europe and Asia and adores falafels and she was very impressed too.

Quality selection of dishes. Had several different Persian dishes, the beef kebab(Koobideh) and Chicken Kebab(Joojeh). The meat was juicy, nicely charred on their flame grill. The rice accompanied was fluffy and properly cooked. Hummus side dish was tasty, had a nice tahini topping. Everything was made fresh. The Persian family who run the whole show are lovely. They even indulge my limited Farsi abilities. Eat there, you wont be disappointed

Lamb shank is the best I ever had. Great food and even great service. The staff spent at least 15 minutes explaining the menu for us without any signs of frustration. If you are in Victoria and in the mood for mediterranean food, this is the place to go.

Nice people. Really uncomfortable seating. They apparently dont want you to linger over your food! High stools with no backs. The food was good. I was able to get exactly what I wanted, which was a falafel bowl with added baba ganoush, which was like none Id ever had before, quite substantial and not creamy at all. Not much flavor, either. Probably wont go back.

Ordered through Uber. An item was missing. I contacted Yalla and Uber within 30 minutes of receiving the wrong order and they assured me a refund was pending. Though the food my guests received was fine. The experience has been disappointing. Two weeks later, no refund. I will not order again.

Had the koobideh and joojeh kebab and it was SO good! I think this is the best in town and a great addition to their standard middle eastern menu. They just added these items to their menu, so I recommend giving them a visit if you havent been in some time. I have also tried their ghormeh sabzi which is very good. Ive had the salads many times and they are fantastic, especially the fattoush and grilled halloumi salads. Vegetarian options: Falafel, hummus plates, salads Kid-friendliness: Ive seen kids dining in here on several occasions.

It would appear that Yala has new owner? Used to be one of the best in town, take out was dry, not even close to what my last experience was. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I was super hyped for this place. I ordered the large falafel pita to go. It was pictured with a mound of tahini and hummus, tomatoes, lettuce, beets, pickles, cucumber, drizzled with sauce. What I got was a foot long pita wrapped around some decent falafel with hummus, cucumber shavings, and one pinky sized stick of beetroot. It was around 4.5 cm in diameter. For $ 15.50 before tax. Ive gotten better falafel from the saanich fair. Maybe it was an off day, but I wont be going back.

Victoria s Hidden Gem! Excellent Middle Eastern Foods. We ordered Gorme Sabzi and Rice and their lunch Special Souvlaki with Rice and salad. They were delicious. They are very generous in portions too. Their staff were very friendly and professional especially our server named Pegah. We also met the owner/Chef Noushin and her husband Saeed. They were both very welcoming and accommodating. This place is a bit small and it can be busy. But, its worth it!

I was eager to try this spot out as it is one of the few halal options available in Victoria, BC. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed. The shawarma was drenched in oil and tasted terrible. Additionally, the meat did not taste fresh and was quite dry. Its not an authentic shawarma experience and is not at all worth the price. I wouldnt recommend it. Also, the lady employee was quite rude when we asked for extra utensils, we just asked for them to cut shawarma in half but she said she cant since she already gave it to us.

Some of the Best Persian Food the city has to offer and also still offering other authentic Middle Eastern and Lebanese cuisine, this place has something for everyone. Food is good but rice is expensive. The amount served for the 4 dollar ration is too small so you end up having to add 2 extra rations of rice which makes the overall bill unnecessarily high

I ve been wanting to try this place for a while and it was very worth it! Wish I hadn t waited so long! I had the chicken Shawarma wrap and a halloumi salad. Both we delicious and full of delicious flavours. The portions were very generous as I could only eat half of each. The people working there were very friendly and super happy and smiley! I will be back again soon and highly recommend this place!

Used to love the falafel wraps here. The ownership must have changed as they now cost more and are not that good unfortunately. Really chewy wrap and the flavours are just ok. Still better than at an average shawarma place. Maybe the other dishes are better.

That was hands down the best hummus ive ever had- and not to mention the pickled veggies were absolutely amazing! Pretty decent falafel wrap. There arent too many places in Victoria that Ive encountered that do them, so it was fortuitous stumbling upon Yalla. I will say that I thought the price was a bit high. I ordered a large which wasnt sizeable by any means and it was $15.50 before tax and tip. I remember these being $8 or so from the food trucks in Vancouver. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and polite which is always a bonus. Going to give this place another try with my fiancee in the future as the other dishes folks in the restaurant were munching on did look quite tasty.
