Finn's Seafood Chops Cocktails in Victoria

decided to go for an impromptu Saturday dinner and Finn s was gracious enough to find us a table. The place was packed but still we got a table with ocean windows. The service from start to finish was impeccable, kind, welcoming, knowledgeable. The food, mouth watering! (best salad ever and the stake mmmm!) I m not from Victoria but I ll be back soon just to come here! Soooooo good!

Lots of unique places to sit, great views of the inner harbour, wait staff was prompt and professional. Prices were a bit steep on some items with the portions being surprisingly small.

Had a wonderful experience here! The food was delicious, and the service was superb! I had the grilled octopus and seafood bowl. YUM!! I requested that they make my bowl very spicy and was sooo pleasantly surprised that they did just that! LOVED IT!! The other 3 people in my party all had great experiences too. We will definitely be back!

This is the best restaurant in Victoria, shame we only found it on our last night. Everything was very good. Do yourself a favour and try a meal at this restaurant.

Cozy atmosphere, great food and service, gorgeous view

Why would you sit people by a drafty cold windows when it ended up that the whole Main floor was available is beyond me. They tried to sit us at a dwarf table first while again the whole main floor was available. Why do you have to request for a decent table when there are plenty of way more comfortable tables??? The food was ok and experience was not worth it. I would not recommend the place and will never go back.

Finn s in Victoria is a must-visit! The service was excellent friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. I had lunch overlooking the beautiful Inner Harbour, and the view was as delightful as the food. I ordered the linguini with seafood, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. It paired wonderfully with my Pinot Gris, creating a memorable dining experience. The restaurant is also well-known for its Fish & Chips, which I plan to try next time! Whether you re a local or just visiting, Finn s is the perfect spot for great food, stunning views, and top-notch service. Highly recommend!

Delicious seafood pasta. Raw oysters were yummy but could have used a cleaner shuck. Service was super duper. Warm cozy, yet vibrant atmosphere. Fairly priced.

Amazing food. Sophies service was excellent. The views if you get a window seat are fantastic especially if you catch the sunset.

Food and atmosphere were good but Mice everywhere and on top of that the roof was leaking and we got water on us. Waitress was good but when we brought the mice and leak to the attention of the manager all he said was I am sorry its an old building. He attempted to give us 50% of food bill back but after seeing multiple mice around all we can think about in the dining area is what the kitchen is like. We will never be back

Pretty good atmosphere. A bit crowded the day we went. It was better than other seafood restaurants we had been to around Victoria. But the prices were still a bit higher for lobster and crab than we would have liked. The taste of the food was pretty good for what we got, and the service was great! Very respectful, helpful staff! And quick service! We didnt have to wait for our food long after we ordered. Overall a pretty good restaurant. As long as youre not buying crab or lobster.

Great view

Fnns seafood was a great restaurant full of character. I had the seafood linguini and it had a plentiful stock of mussels and clams as well as some large prawns. Noise level was not too bad for conversations.

We never miss a chance to dine at Finns when in Victoria. Beautiful decor, fantastic menu, excellent service and right on the Harbor. Start with the Prawn Tacos, and for dessert... Flourless Chocolate Ganache.

A warm welcome from the hostess, a great window table and an efficient server all made dining at Finns a great experience. The menu is fine, covering all the basics. We particularly enjoyed the house salad although the generous amounts of blue cheese wouldnt please everyone. A modification to one of our main dishes was handled without question. Personally I enjoyed the fish and chips - malt vinegar provided. The dessert offering was sparse and we skipped that course. Great selection of cocktails, beers and wines too.

So i walk in at 5pm the place is dead, two hostesses working the front. I am by myself so ask for bar, they say we have to go check, come back and say can t do bar and i can do a table, I tell them I am by myself and ask to check again, still hesitate on the bar so I said I can go somewhere else, they respond with you sure haha are you kidding its like they dont want business. They give in and seat me at bar, not a single person there but the manager eating and does not acknowledge me, bartender takes 5 minutes to get to me even only person there. I ask about happy hour and he says its over, i tell him first thing you see on google is there ad for 530 happy hour, he does not care. I sit for 15 minutes while bartender and manager talk about karate like they are 12 before he asks me if I want something to eat. I can see why they are dead. I am sitting here typing this on my phone as this place is cold boring so sorry for the bad grammar..: i assume! Parking: crap

My husband and I had an exceptional experience here last night. We ordered the prawn tacos as an appetizer and they were beyond delicious. I ordered the seafood linguine and was not disappointed. My husband had the BC Steelhead. Every staff member we encountered were extremely friendly. Will 100% be returning on our next trip to Victoria!

Id love to go back to explore the rest of the menu, but I can say the seafood chowder is the best Ive ever had. Beautiful spot.

Came here for my mothers birthday during a trip to Victoria. We arrived close to closing but they seated us with a smile regardless and were very attentive. Had the seafood chowder, prawn tacos, and the mushroom chorizo pizza. Everything came out quickly and was super delicious! They even gave us a complimentary dessert (lemon tart). Really great experience. Will definitely come again next time we are in the area!

One person had the seafood linguine, the other had the sablefish. Both were quite good. Service was good. Price was alright. Location was good. I would say there are other restaurants in the city that are better, or more unique. But, Finns is good and will please a wide group of tastes.

Great place by the waterfront..Jordan was our server and she took great care of us..it was the best hummus I ever had and Jordan gave us a free dessert for our anniversary

A very nostalgic and contemporary place with absolutely amazing food. Asked for suggestions to pick between lobster and crab and had a brilliantly delicious crab. Yum !! Friendly staff, timely attention and an ambience that makes social engagement a bliss.

Absolutely delightful in every way. You cant go wrong with their salmon burger, legitimately the best tzatziki Ive ever had. The staff were the shining star of this restaurant. Everyone we encountered was polite, helpful and charming. The standout was out waiter Hunter. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant and the city in general. I would go out of my way to visit again should I return to Victoria.

Came here twice over the course of two days, first time with a large event group and the second time on a whim as the food was great. The seafood dishes stood out, as the seafood itself was quite fresh. The dishes were not overly salty as are common issues. Sablefish was melt-in-your-mouth, and seafood linguine perfectly al dente with plenty of fresh shellfish. Excellent location by the water to watch sunset over the inner harbor, and friendly customer service.

What a wonderful dining experience. Our food was imaginative, flavorful and perfectly prepared and our server Sam took excellent care of us. We will definitely return the next time we visit Victoria.

Finns was incredible. I came for my birthday and we were approached and asked if we wanted to move to a nicer table by the water when one became available. The service was amazing, the food was really good as well. My boyfriend got the pork chop and he claims it s the best pork chop he s ever had. I got the steelhead and it was really good. We shared a clam chowder as an appetizer and I got to choose a complimentary dessert at the end.

My wife and I went to Finn s on our first night in Victoria. Exceptional food in a casual dining environment. Our server Sophia was wonderful and clearly knew the menu personally. She gave great recommendations and both the Earthy Salad with Giant Prawns, the Fresh BC Steelhead were excellent. The perfect prepared Barely Legal Martini was amazing as well! We ll definitely be back again.

My boyfriend and I came here this weekend it was his first time. Our server Paris was absolutely amazing, the food was out of this world and the whole experience was absolutely out of this world. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are downtown Victoria. Parking: Parking is a bit tough if it s busy downtown but there is a parking lot to the left that usually has room.

Amazing food, great service.

Bathrooms were not clean with a very fowl smell. The food tasted ok but left hungry, then having to order room service when I got back to the hotel. Service was very poor, were there was at least 1/2 hour wait in between beverages. The scenery of the harbour was very nice.

Staff, food, locality: everything excellent

We attended during happy hour. We sat at the patio and enjoyed the views and food. We had the hummus, fish and chips, and vegetarian pizza. The food was delicious and a lot. The service was excellent and we felt really well taken off. We highly recommend and will visit again. Vegetarian options: There are few vegetarian dishes. I had pizza but there were other options too.

We ended a nice day of vacation with a delicious wine and very good food

The view from inside the restaurant to outside was perfect, food amazing and tasty, drinks could be better (more alcohol), ideal for couples and friends if you want to talk and enjoy the food.

Food was really good, servers and service was really good. Seating wasnt the most comfortable as it seemed like the tables are too small for the group, but overall, a good experience.

Ordered the shellfish bowl and it came drowning in the sauce as if it was a soup! Most of the muscles shells were empty so I m not sure why they even filled the plate with them! I had to dig for the shellfish but then as soon as I ate a muscle, I almost had to spit it out! It tasted awful! Not only that it wasn t fresh, I think it was spoiled! When my waitress asked how was my meal, I told her and the manager right away came in and offered to give me another meal, my appetite by then was not that it best so I just took an appetizer, shrimp taco and it wasn t bad! They didn t charge me for the shellfish bowl, which I appreciated because they weren t cheap for the portion and quality! There are lots of seafood restaurants in the area! I d stay away from this one. Limited menu and not worth the prices but if you do go, stay away from the shellfish bowl so you don t end up with food poisoning!

Our family used to come here quite regularly when we had our place across the street. Food was always great. The service was great and always a vibrant atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place weather youre passing through for the day and want some cocktails and an appi or an evening dinner. This is a great spot to mark down

Little too dark in the corner where we got put upstairs (one of the lightbulbs was out and it s already very dim in there to begin with) but the food and service made up for it

Perfect for a large gathering, or a smaller get together, the food came in around 20-30 minutes for everyone, when I was in a group of 40 or so. There is a variety of food choices so there will be something for everyone. Parking: Hotspot for seagull poo.

If you order fish and chips you better be hungry! Burk provided great service and the atmosphere was fun.

Food was amazing, service was spectacular thank you Hunter for making our night full of laughs. Great location and view, it was a bit chilli the night we went and their heat lamps work wonders so you can still enjoy outside and not freeze!

The oysters are delicious and very fresh. We ordered a dozen of their daily selections which tasted amazing. For the main entree I highly recommend the veggie bowl with the tofu. Everything about the food was a 10/10.

Great sea food place, we had the linguine sea food and the presentation, taste and quality price was excellent. Drinks cocktail were just okay, but the atmosphere inside and on the patio was awesome, nice old looking building.

My wife and I and another couple came to Victoria for a few days before Labor Day. We checked out restaurant reviews and chatted with locals before deciding to give Finns a try. We asked if we could sit outside and our request was granted. The service was provided by Christopher and Hunter (sons of the owner - Marie as I recall). Hunter was very informative and helpful as we decided what to order. We shared a bowl of clam chowder and all of us enjoyed it very much. I had the pork chop as my entree which was fantastic - juicy and flavorful. My wife and my best friends wife had the shrimp tacos and my friend had the fish and chips. The ladies very much enjoyed their tacos, my friend was satisfied with his fish and chips but really liked the cole slaw which just the right amount of dressing. The food and atmosphere were great. But, the service was the best part of the meal. Hunter discussed how his family became owners of the business and helped us decide where to eat on our next two days in Victoria. Finns is gigantic (@ 400 seats or more), but we felt like we were getting special treatment by Hunter. The food appeared promptly, but Hunter and the rest of the staff made us feel at home - and in no rush.

The food wasnt bad, but for the price it wasnt great either. Honestly, the salmon burger on the BC Ferrys are much better.

Been here about three times and had the double thick pork chop, which is amazing. It s a good sized dish and is really well put together. The only note is that since the first time I went, the next two times it feels like they used instant mash, which I hope isn t a trend.

Excellent service and food! We ate upstairs, but the views of the water were better downstairs and patio, which were full.

Having spent 35 years the business from back to front of house, trainer to GM, I can say that the staff at Finns hit every point in the book of service! From the hostess that didnt just walk in front of us to a table but engaged in conversation, to the server that was on point with answers and recommendations! Kudos to the entire operation!

Awesome food and great voew

The outside smelt like airplane exhaust. Inside there were flies buzzing everywhere. The waitress billed us an insane amount (market rate) for the oysters, which were small and not very good.

We were on vacation in Victoria and decided to give Finns a try because of the reviews. Seemed the restaurant was disorganized as we were sent to a table that was already occupied. The food was very over priced for the quality. I ordered the fish and chips as they came out in a basket with holes. I couldnt cut my food because of the holes in the basket. I was cutting through the paper to the table. The fish was over battered, and only 1 piece for $26, seems high. We were pretty much ignored by our server until it was time to tip.

Food was good. Drink was good. Our waiter, Hunter, was great.

MOST DELICIOUS PLACE in Victoria. The service and food are top notch. We keep coming back for the amazing food - modern, elevated twists on otherwise common dishes - that will leave you impressed. A delicious meal worth every penny. We had the sablefish and the shellfish bowl. The red thai curry broth the shellfish were in was so delicious and creamy. The views over the harbour were stunning, such a lovely place for dinner.

Spectacular service, by far the best service Ive received in Victoria so far! Hunter was an amazing server, very informative and understanding, moved us from outside on the patio, to the inside next to a window with the same view.. due to wasps.. The food was delicious, fish and chips were delectable. Melt in your mouth style. Will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful dinner and our server, Alanna, was delightful and helpful. The drinks were spot on and the food was delicious. We shared a few small plates and one entree between the two of us and it was perfect. Highly recommend the grilled octopus, pork belly, fries and the seafood bowl with prawns! This place was very busy for a week night, so we made a reservation. We showed up almost 2 hours early, and they got us a patio table, and it was great. My wife is a bit of a seafood critic, and she was very happy with her choice. I loved the mushroom risotto and the deserts were marvelous. If you like seafood, I highly recommend it

The manager of this restaurant is incredible! His hostess staff was put off by our stroller and service dog. The manager jumped in, brought us right back to a table and helped us maneuver our stroller to our table. We also were brought blankets to stay warm on the patio..not to mention the food was incredible!!! The mussels were the best Ive ever had, food was fresh, waitress was so friendly and service was 5 stars! If you want delicious, fresh, seafood- with a view and great service, stop by! Also, they were very accommodating to our 4 year old and her food allergies!

As a diner of 1 got shown to a table in the corner of a relatively empty balcony outside - next to a speaker & a glass collection area - asked for another table & was told they weren t available so just walked out

Their menu prices didnt match what they charged us. Exp. Artisan bread 4.00 on menu 6.50 on the bill. All items were higher than what was listed on the menu. Food was ok, staff fantastic. Didnt like the overcharging.

Busy spot with delicious food. Had hoped for more entrées with prawns but the ahi tuna niçoise was amazing..with an Okanagan rosé so wonderful! Service gets a lower score they ran out of wine glasses so our oysters arrived much before we could drink, and the bill took a long time to arrive.

Finns is an old favourite of my husband and I from when he used to live in Victoria. We were visiting this past weekend and were excited to return to this old haunt. We were a little disappointed. Although the ambiance is nice, service was a little lackluster- we called ahead to make a booking, were put on hold, and then told that we would be called back- which happened only after the day we had requested our reservation! It was just bizarre- why do you need to check either the manager to make a reservation?! In any case, we went in for a light lunch and at the venue itself there was also just confusion among the waitstaff though there was plenty of space we were made to wait and it seemed like communication between servers was nonexistent. I will say that the food is very good once youre seated- best place for oysters in our opinion! There are no proper vegan options here though- so definitely not a place for strict vegans. Overall, I was upset mostly because this place used to be such a favourite and things always seemed so seemless, and it had a luxurious and elegant feeling which just wasnt there this time.

Wow! you have truly captured impeccable service, quality, presentation, and taste. Your dishes were as tasty as they were beautiful. Portion sizes were perfect to leave guests feeling full without any waste. The items ordered are Sablefish, Chicken, and Bison.

My girlfriend and I had lunch at Finns today and we both had Fish and chips with a cup of chowder instead of the coleslaw. We both liked the chowder very much and had similar thoughts on the fish and chips. The fish pieces were rather narrow and small and had too much fried coating on them The fish didnt have much flavor. The tartar sauce was rather tastless. But... whats more surprising is we both had intestinal problems when we got home. Frequent loose stools and stomach discomfort. Dissapointing. We only had water to drink.

Im always shocked that I can get a reservation at Finns. The location is incredible, the decor is charming, the service is excellent, end that double-thick pork chop is one of the best menu items to be found anywhere. Finns is an excellent choice for anyone who wants a great meal on the harbour

Had Sablefish for the first time. The dish was amazing but too small as I hadnt eaten all day:)) The desert was mediocre. I would recommend the restaurant of that scale to upgrade their Desert menu as Main menu is awesome! Includes fresh Lobster and Crab. Loved local BC Pino Gris with my fish. Ambiance is beautiful, the view, happy couples around. I was traveling solo, but love seeing happy people. Service was above and beyond. Beautiful blond girl, sorry Im so bad with names. Host was very sweet and welcoming too!

Fish and Chips are the bomb!

They won t disappoint you! 1st trial 4 yrs ago then on & off, their food quality is just at the same high standard! Strongly recommend their crab, grilled octopus, fish & chips, mushroom risotto, chowder! Our server Ethan provided us exceptional good service!

I love this place but PLEASE bring back the rock fish risotto, I and many people fell in love with said dish. I understand sourcing costs and all that fun stuff so if thats the reason totally understandable. Love yall Food

It really feels like everyone that works here truly loves the job! So attentive and helpful with menu selection. The food was incredible, from burgers, to poke bowl to fish fry everything at our table was delicious. As an added bonus we were on the patio and got to see fighter jets in formation flying over the water.

Wow. Great food

Honestly not a great experience overall, the water was dirty and my friend thought it was lime squeeze in it, when we asked our server she said it wasn t lime on it and replaced it but it was too late as the water was placed at our table for too long and only noticed it after. They also took our order wrong. Staff were nice and the place too, just not a great experience.

So good. Had the trout with miso and mushroom, and it matched perfectly with the view of the sunset.

I really would love to give this a higher review, the service was so great, the atmosphere was impeccable, the seafood was good but Finn s should stick to seafood and stay away from the land. Steak is not their forte, very disappointing when you order one of the more expensive items on their menu and it completely overdone.

Some of the best fish and chips we have had--light batter and fresh cod. Our server, Ethan, was very attentive and personable.

My husband and I dined here while we were on a day excursion. We love fish and chips and were told this place has the best!! Well, the reputation lived up to its name as they certainly were the best weve ever had!! We were initially served by a lovely person named Devin (sorry if incorrectly spelled). She was lovely and was eager to please us. She had to leave and another server by the name of Laura took care of us. We had the best experience because of her. She is one of those people that makes your dining experience extra special, simply extraordinary!! Her jubilant, sweet, fun loving personality stood out and she couldnt do enough to make us happy. I had the best time talking with her and couldnt thank her enough for making our dining experience extra special!! What a gem she is to Finns!!

Had an awesome lunch! Location and view are fantastic. Food was delicious. All the staff were so friendly and Hunter and Alana took great care of us. They were great with my kids too! We will be back! Parking: Large paid parking lot right beside (need to go up a staircase) Kid-friendliness: No kids menu but they do cheese pasta and pizzas so good options available for the kiddos.

We sat at the bar and asked for a drink menu , the bartender said we needed to go back outside to the hostess and check in , seemed a bit cold , never had that happen before anywhere , US or Europe , drinks were good but didn t seem like a friendly place

We had a delicious meal accompanied by great service from Carli. It was my first time trying real seafood and I was not disappointed. The clam appetizer and fresh BC steelhead were both very tasty. I will be back!

Great restaurant with exceptional food!

Delicious plus great service

Our visit to Finns Seafood was less than impressive. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly, but it took nearly half an hour before anyone came to take our order even though the restaurant was quite empty. Once we did have a waitress, the service improved and was satisfactory. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. The clams in the Seafood Linguine had a strong chlorine taste, which lingered unpleasantly for over an hour after the meal. The Fish and Chips were also disappointing, with the batter being soggy rather than crispy. On a positive note, the crab meal was enjoyable, though we felt it was overpriced. The prawn tacos and salmon burger were well-received by our group, and the drinks were a highlight of the meal. Overall, our experience at Finns Seafood was mediocre. Given the issues with some of the dishes and the slow service at the start, we probably wouldnt recommend this restaurant.

Amazing food; even better service!

My second time here and this time I got some food. The drink menu was great and had some really good cocktails, I was served by Teija and she gave amazing service. The Classic Fish n Chips tasted great!

Went for happy hour and tried almost everything on the happy hour appetizer menu. It was all good. Highly recommend.

Great staff (Alyssa) and wonderful food, I recommend the salmon burger with truffle fries! The location and building are excellent. We had a breeze coming through our window downstairs overlooking the bay. It was perfect! This was our favorite stop while in Victoria.

Very tasty, on the pricier side but absolutely worth it if youre feeling like treating yourself!

What an overall excellent experience. Greeters/hostesses were very kind to find us the perfect table with a view, out of the sun, and a cooling breeze. Great start! Nice menu featuring seafood - as you would expect - and a solid array of starters/shareables. We had the Steamed Pawn and Pork Dim Sum (excellent!) and my wife indulged in six oysters. Presentation was very nice and she said they were great. For mains we ordered the Fresh Shellfish Bowl and the Crispy Skin Sablefish. Dont know that Ive had Sablefish before but it was delicate, buttery, and delicious. The lemon caper sauce provided a creamy acidity that was just wonderful. There was nothing left on either plate. All this wrapped up by excellent, attentive service. Best meal out we have enjoyed in awhile ... highly recommend Finns.

I usually dont come back to any restaurant. I feel like theres way too many to try, but this one made exception to the rule! Went back 4 times already in the last year! Best restaurant found on the island so far!

Everything was delicious from appetizers, to entrees, and desserts. Service was great and the patio was extremely comfortable. Highly recommend the grilled octopus, seafood linguini, and flourless chocolate cake!

Not the place for hamburgers. They will only cook them until they are gray in the middle, and dry, no exceptions.

Finns is an amazing seafood restaurant in Victoria. If you are looking for great seafood with a spectacular view, this is your place. Be sure and make a reservation because this place is very popular. Try and get a table on the patio overlooking the harbor. Our waitress Shayna was amazing and far exceeded expectations!!! Be careful of the seagulls, they can make a mess, and you can get caught in the fallout, which is what happened to us when we were waiting for our table outside. My only suggestion, would be for Finns to add a permanent awning or pergola over the patios for protection from the seagulls and shade from the sun. The could even add plastic enclosure panels to the sides and be able to use the patio during winter, and remove them during summer. Dont miss this amazing restaurant!!

Amazing dinner at Finn s. The setting is inviting and comfortable, love the decor, especially the lighting and the pretty booths. The food was perfectly prepared with fresh and flavorful ingredients. We had the seafood chowder, the octopus and the Ahi salad. Elevated flavors but not fussy. And a shout out to Carli for making our dining experience super easy and pleasant. Highly recommend.

Customer service was really good, waitress friendly , the lobster & oyster was really fresh, stealhead was ok recording to my son. Over all great, i think ppl should try it out.
