Amazing, authentic South Indian food in Victoria! Chef Prashant and his staff are extremely sweet and professional; Excellent service. I loved the vibe, the atmosphere and the delicious food. Highly recommend!! 😄
We had Fish 65, Mysore masala dosa, medu vada and idli. Detailed review:- 1. idli was soft and fluffy. 2. Meduvada was spot on. 3. Fish 65 was flavorful but can be cooked little longer. 4. Mysore masala dosa was perfect. 5. Filter was nice, bitter with perfect balance of sugar. Don't forget to add a side order of podi masala to accompany it with your dishes. Would love to collaborate with the team for a YouTube video.
Food quantity was good but the quality was poor specially chicken biryani, beef and the masala dosa was not 👎🏼👎🏼
Idly and vada were on dryer side but dosa preparations were all good Quite a few stairs to access the restaurant area
Very nice restaurant. We tried vada, idli & different dosas. Everything was cooked perfect & tasted fresh. It had homemade taste. If you love good homemade like cuisine please give them a visit.
Beef masala dosa is the best in town. Crispy edges and generous portion of beef in the centre. Very fair price. Service was a touch slow but we arrived at opening and they filled up fast. Looking forward to trying out some other items on the extensive menu.
Their dosas are really, really good. We also tried some of their other options such as Fried Rice and Manchurian. We were craving some Indian food and this definitely hit the spot. Considering we were a party of almost 20 picky eaters, we expected them to struggle. However, they did great. Service was friendly and prompt. I was truly impressed.
Very nice South Indian restaurant. Beautiful view of the water by the Johnson St bridge. The food was excellent, with massive portions! We were very surprised by the size of the filled dosa. Everything was very tasty. I think we had the paratha as well; WOW!! So good! Will be planning to go back soon.
Excellent dosa and utthappams. Highly recommended...
Dosa Paragon is my go-to for gluten-free and allergy-aware food delivery at any hour of the day and any day of the week. I do all my business and event orders from here. The menu is varied and scrumptious (hello butter chicken dosas!), and they are able to fully accommodate celiacs. We also have a bell pepper allergy they are able to accommodate as well. Bob, the owner, is lovely. They even include gluten-free candies with your order. Food for delivery is always well-packaged. Thanks, Bob and Dosa Paragon! Dietary restrictions: Dosa Paragon fully accommodates celiacs. We also have a bell pepper allergy they are able to accommodate as well. Gluten-free options for the win!
I found a hair in their food. This is so damn shameful for the restaurant that they not at all take care of the hygiene. This could have make me very sick. Don t wanna say much as it doesn t matter anymore. I usually order from here but now i will never.
The food was amazing. We ordered Butter Chicken masala and paneer butter masala dosa along with south Indian combo that involves idli, gun powder, kheer and other chutneys. Everything was delicious. We loved it. Highly recommended place.
This is the best place for south indian food
this restaurant is excellent, highly recommended . the portions are very filling .i highly recommend trying it out.you are in for a treat.thumbs up!!!!!!!! Food
Service was very fast, the food came out very quickly. The food was amazing, very flavourful and fresh. I highly recommend trying this restaurant!
Dosa Paragon on Wharf Street offers a delightful culinary experience, especially for fans of South Indian cuisine. The restaurants ambiance is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special outings. The star of the menu is, of course, the dosa crispy, flavorful, and served with a variety of chutneys and sambar that elevate the dish. Their dosas come in several variations, from the classic plain dosa to more inventive options like masala dosa and even fusion dosas.
If youre craving authentic South Indian flavors, Dosa Paragon on Wharf Street is the place to be! The restaurant offers a wide variety of dosas, each crisp and full of flavor. The menu also features an impressive range of curries, chutneys, and traditional sides that complement the dosas perfectly. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff who provide excellent service. The highlight of the meal was the variety of dosas whether youre a fan of the classic masala dosa or looking for something more adventurous like the cheese or paneer dosa, youll find something that suits your taste.
Good place to dine in. Keep it up. Dont forget to drop in people, if you are visiting victoria. Vegetarian options: Good Vegetarian Options Dietary restrictions: Should ask representative
Delicious! There are many vegan choices. We had pakora, idli, rasam, and dosa. Get the tofu sag masala dosa. You won t be sorry! We can t wait to come again. Dietary restrictions: Great options for vegetarian and vegan eaters!
We are a family of 5 with 3 kids and had a wonderful experience at Dosa Paragon. We are a family asking for customization with kids needing something less authentic while parenting wanting more authentic food. Dosa Paragon was able to cater to both needs at once. Food was tasty, authentic and more than sumptuous quantities.
I had an incredible dining experience at Dosa Paragon on Wharf Street! The dosas were perfectly crispy, and the sambar was full of authentic South Indian flavors. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, making the meal even more enjoyable. If youre looking for an unforgettable South Indian meal in Victoria, this is the place to be. Highly recommend trying their masala dosa and filter coffee! Cant wait to visit again.
Delicious authentic Indian food. Great service
Fantastic food at a fantastic price with a fantastic view. Try the butter chicken poutine! And the mango milkshake!
Taste food in victory
Dosa Paragon on Wharf Street offers a delightful experience for anyone craving authentic South Indian cuisine. The dosas are crispy and perfectly made, with a variety of fillings that range from classic potato to more adventurous options. The chutneys and sambar complement each bite beautifully. The ambiance is casual yet cozy, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. The service is friendly, and portions are generous. Overall, it s a great place to indulge in a satisfying, flavorful meal.
Nice central spot, great food, service, and atmosphere. Staff are very kind. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. Food : 4/5 |
Food was authentic!Great ambience with scenic waterfront!
Vegetarian options: Their Podi Idli is the best And we loved their service. Mr. Prashant, was so kind and humble, he checked on us and made sure we had water, and chutney at all times. The food was served hot and fresh. I would recommend this place to all South Indian Food Lovers.
Very worst service. Took very soo long even for making normal plain dosa because busy making orders for the table placed order after us. Very disappointed.
Very worst service ever
Incredible food (chili paneer dosa). Inexpensive. Harbour View (OK, I admit its not perfect, but you can still look out onto the Harbour). Good service. Takeout is OK, too, but the new restaurant is a gem.
Great ambience and food. Can do better with service Loved the experience overall. Food
Best South Indian food in Victoria/Vancouver - authentic flavours, kind service, and consistent quality. As a vegetarian, its one of the few restaurants I can go to where I can trust that the vegetarian food is separated from non-vegetarian food while being prepared.
We were visiting Victoria and had a craving for Indian food and found out Dosa Paragon which is located in downtown. Their menu is quite extensive with varities of south india, north india and even indo chinese. We ordered Paneer butter masala dosa, mysore masala, paneer 65 and veg manchurian. Everything tasted fantastic and even the quantities were good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Kudos and special mention to the chef and owner Mr. Prashant (Bob) who made sure the food and service were as expected. Highly recommend Dosa Paragon.
Our heart and stomach were full. The food was absolutely delicious and so was the service
One of the best view, food is excellent. Best was Paneer butter masala dosa. Veg Manchurian took me to streets of India. Good food, good atmosphere. Good vibe overall.
Amazing food , very nice location!
I went there with my colleagues from other nationalities. The food was amazing and they really liked especially CHICKEN KOTHU. And all time favourite MASALA DOSA. The service was little slow because of only 3 girls who were working really hard to manage the crowd. They should hire more people because we hardly saw any empty table there.
Congrats on your new venture Mr. Bob and Lathika. Mutton curry with Kerala Poratta and finished with Kulfi; As always, food tasted amazing. Its very kids friendly service place. #victoriabc #dosaparagon Vegetarian options: There is lots of veg option Kid-friendliness: The view was amazing.
This is not the first time I came here at this location, I always came here thinking things might have changed, but all I get is disappointed. If you have too much time to waste and if you are planning for a good time to spend with your loved ones pls I will advice avoid this place . This place is a huge disappointment when it comes to the service . They need to improve their service or this place will get shut soon if the customers stops coming here . OWNER of this outlet pls wake up and improve your service or better you check your cameras how many tables walk out without eating after long wait . Start hiring experienced service staff rather than hiring some college students on low wages , they don t know what they are doing .
Amazing South Indian food. Great ambiance and gentle music.
My friends and I, are loyal customers of Dosa Paragon at yates, this time we ve tried at the new location at warf. Staff we not efficient , understanding that was a sunday eve, but not properly set up for serving, not properly behaviour to serve Food was out of spice level we requested for chicken noodle, veg noodles, chicken 65s,veg biryani, lemonades, parathas, gravys, chicken biryanis( rice was not properly cooked, get to table just warm),south Indian coffee was cold i asked to heat it up cuz it arrives to my table cold already. When I requested to the server that rice was not properly cooked if the can fix , she said it an south indian biryani thats how it taste and left the table, when she approached again to the table I insisted we can not eat biryanis rice were not good to eat ; she said you guys the only one complaining everyones eat the same; i told her we wont eat so she can take it away from the table and was not nuce the way she behave, and then she mentioned to talk to the chef, never came back to the table again; so my whole group try to eat the eatable portions from the whole order and decide to approach to the cashier pay and leave , so dissatisfied. Server decide to make the transaction said we will remove from the bill only one biryani we request was not eatable but automatically add 18% of gratuity for the bill. Still we paid it , but everything was so disappointing honestly
It took us forever to find this restaurant. Food was okay
Delicious Indian food in a pretty building. I found the curries to be on the sweater side but really tasty. I will be back again. Servers were also very friendly. Food
Took too much time for food to come. Waited 45 minutes for food to come. Ridiculous.
Best Masala Dosa and the best meal we have had in Canada, been visiting for 4 weeks. Great location.
Service is so slow took 40 mints to arrive food.
Delicious food. Ive tried prawn corma and lamb curry and they were both great. Service was great. Food
They did such a great job taking care of our dairy and gluten allergies! So happy
Yesterday I went there with 2 of my friends. We orderd egg koththu parota, idly & goat biryani. Koththu & Biryani was top class but idly not so much. Service was terrible. So first idly came to the table, within 2-3 minutes goat biryani was brought to the table but koththu took at least 15 minutes after biryani. Servers had no experience of serving. They were not even smiling. Felt like there was no management in the front of the house. Then we ordered fruit salad & payasam as desserts. Payasam was good but not the salad. After we finished eating, I asked for the bill. Again for the bill, we had to wait around 10-15 minutes just for bill. At the end Great food with terrible dining experience.
The food here is heaven on a plate. The butter paneer dosa, mushroom-65, gobi-65, poori bhaji, and chicken wings were hearty and downright delicious. We really enjoyed the payasam and gulab jamun as well. Oh, and the South Indian Coffee was outstanding! Thanks Bob for the great experience! Will return and will recommend!
Lots of variety options to try and fabulous view of the harbor. I tried their kothuporotta, so tasty and the quantity was massive. I love their lime soda and its one of my go to drinks. Service was really good and they made sure I have everything needed. Totally recommend it:) Parking: Has parkade nearby
Great vegetarian and vegan options! Try the vegan mango lassi. It has fresh cardamom pods and its so delicious. The dining room has forgotten big windows, just off the marina.
We love this place! Ordered take out from the vegetarian-only Yates St. location. We got Gobi 65 (like cauliflower bites, but way better), vegetable chettinad and tofu coconut masala with an extra order of rice. We asked for spicy and it was definitely that, but not offensively so. Very flavourful and ,if you havent tried chettinad before, youre missing out! The total came to about $50 and there was easily enough food for three people. We highly recommend and will definitely be back!!
Go for best dosas in town !
Dosas were excellent. Very good flavors. Vada was nice and hot. Tad bit oily, but we didn t mind. The taste was great. Food
Absolutely delicious dosa, friendly staff and a nice view!
We come from US today eat amazing Indian south dish amazing. Excellent South Indian Dishes. Vegetarian options: All items excellent authentic test.
First time trying dosa it was so delicious, will be back for sure!!
It is a great dining destination! The food was excellent and the staffs went above and beyond with their attentive and friendly service.
Really bad and slow service from kitchen. Taste changes all the time. very average to bad taste.. Food
Great food and views.
Perfect place for people who are looking for authentic South Indian restaurants. I tried podi idli and masala dosa. Both were good in taste. Enjoy the view of the harbour while eating.
A delivery driver shouldnt have to wait 20 minutes like they just called in the order as a customer and DONT LIE ABOUT WAIT TIMES.. 5 minutes becomes 25 minutes. Like come on, what kind of business are you trying to run..
Absolutely amazing food with authentic Indian flavours .The couple running it fed us freshest food with all warmth and affection. We had Jain food daal tadka and roti. Rice was complementary.Recommend to all.
Best south Indian food you can get in Victoria! Awesome dosa, tamarind rice and their tomato chutney is the best. Recently I got to taste the delicious food catered by Dosa Paragon and it was simply delicious and flavourful. Thank you Bob and his staff for the excellent food and service!
It was a disappointing experience at Dosa Paragon. I had high hopes, but unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations. We ordered dosa and chicken 65. The place supposedly is known for dosas and named dosa paragon. The spice level was unbearable. I enjoy spicy food, but this was over the top and ruined the flavors of the dishes. Overall, the dining experience was quite unpleasant.
Find a good place for Indian food. They were very good in dosa making. You can try any of the dosa . Their staff was good . I would like to try other Indian foods from them. A good place to visit .
Loved the sambhar vada!! And great service!
Everything is good about this restaurant. Staff is good and friendly. Very cleaned. Vegetarian options: I get here almost all kind of dosas
Amazing food!!. We tried multiple varieties and all tasted good. We will come back again!!!!
They serve Authentic South Indian food. Our Family Loved Cilantro Tomato Uttappam and Idly Sambar. Good vegetarian options, Recommend masala tea. Vegetarian options: Multiple Options available. Kid-friendliness: Kid Friendly Environment. High Chair available.
Vegetarian options: Great service, food and place Best dosa I ever had Recommended dishes Sambar, Mysore Masala Dosa
South Indian cuisine, focusing on the beloved dosa. The food quality here is exceptional; each dosa is made to perfection crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, filled with a variety of flavorful stuffings like masala potatoes and paneer.
Visited this place with a lot of good hope for dosa and we ordered a onion rava masala dosa but it had a lot of black pepper in it looks like they just threw a whole bottle of black pepper . It looks like more black pepper masala dosa. I feel I just wasted my money here. Worst experience. Not even the ingredients were mentioned on the menu.
Excellent South Indian Food in Victoria, BC, Canada. Authentic, flavourful and reasonably priced. Excellent catering option for large scale events. A great way to celebrate family get togethers, festive gatherings and all kinds of events where food should be the least of pressures as Dosa Paragon has delivered super quality, variety and tasty food at various large quantities.
Dosa Paragon did our wedding catering. We had food here before and really really enjoyed their food, service and the authenticity. It s the best South Indian food I ve had outside of India. Our wedding guests LOVED the food. Thank you to Prashant (owner) for being so gracious, patient and professional. Highly highly recommend the Kheer (rice pudding) Thanks for making our wedding day so amazing with your food!
If someone really wnna try black pepper corn Dosa , this place is for you.Just order Rava onion masala dosa and u will be served with dosa full of black peppercorns, almost a half jar.For me , it was worst rava onion masala dosa i ever tried. If they think ,they have unique recipe for rava dosa , they must mention ingredients in MENU such as half jar of black peppercorns.Really a mood ruining restaurant with food that u will regret after eating or get away without eating it.
This restaurant has taken my personal number one spot for Indian food in Victoria. When I was a child people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up. I used to say a writer , and astronaut , or not a libertarian . Now I know the real answer, the true answer. When I grow up, I want to be wrapped up in a giant dosa with my head resting in a bowl of this restaurants world class, butter soft paneer. Vegetarian options: Tons of vegetarian options
Delicious
First time at this restaurant. There were 4 of us and we each ordered a Dosa, they were so delicious. The spice was just right, flavours perfect, I had the tofu which I will definitely have again. Going on my favourite restaurants list.
Best Indian food in Victoria!! Recommend to me by my south Asian friends it did not disappoint. Personal fav includes Chana Masala & the Butter chicken!! To die for
Every single thing I have had here tastes remarkable. It just takes forever to come (50+ mins both times I have been here). So if you re hangry or in a rush, be mindful that the service does take a while!
Vegetarian options: Masala Dosa Food
Great food with lots of options to choose from. Yummy podi idli and dosas
While this is the only place in town that I know of serving dosas, the food was only bearable so we would go in to serve our cravings. My last experience though was a new low in customer service. We initially intended to dine in and ordered a whole lot of food, after 40 mins of waiting when we didn t get the food served we asked them to pack up the food and we would come by later since we had a escape room booking across the street. When we returned we intended to dine in the ordered food and it was still 9 pm. The restaurant closes at 9:30. Our party had a pregnant lady and a 2 year old And we were left with no choice but to eat our food on the street since the restaurant would not allow us to eat the food we ordered there at the restaurant. It is disappointing there is no sense of customer service and these restaurants still continue to thrive! Definitely my last time at dosa paragon ever! Hopefully we get a better tasting place in town or at least one which has some sense of customer service. Kid-friendliness: Definitely not kid friendly! These guys are too busy making money and do not care if you have kids in your party or not.
-0 rating I would like to let Indian people know if you are visitor in a town and know nothing about south indian food especially dosa and uttapam go to this restaurant BUT if you know and if you have tried south indian food multiple times dosa or uttapam please dont waste your money because the chef there may be he has learned dosa making in punjab because he gives you parantha feeling in dosa and pan cake feeling in uttapam lol. ADVISE TO OWNER Please send your chef to india for couple of months or tell him to learn how to make good dosa from a youtube video might be he will get help so he can make real dosa. Service is -0 I have experienced first time in my life this kind of bad service and food quality of south indian food.
The taste as well as the quantity & quality of food is excellent
Great food and friendly staff
Never ever go to these place last day i had worst experience with these restaurant they don t know how to deal with customers, lack of communication, attitude is on higher level. Actually its my birthday and they ruin our whole plain Vegetarian options: NA
Overall a good choice. Sambar a bit spicy. Dosas were good
Nice location and view to the sea. Interiors are good and seems to be nicely painted. BG music is from Mallu movies and ear pleasing type. Food was slightly spicy and we had kadai vegetable served with Basmati rice and chapathi ordered additionally. Chapathi are not like phulka but slightly thick and bigger in size. Vegetable dish was good enough for 2 persons. Non veg curry was spicy and good enough for 2 persons as well. Vegetables could have been cooked little bit more. We should have tried
Craving for South Indian Food while in Victoria? without a doubt just visit this place and you wont be disappointed. Little delayed service due to less staff and fully occupied I guess but everything was fresh and delicious.
The food is consistently delicious! Butter paneer dosa and sambar is to die for, well and their mango lassi We would highly recommend this place
I have been searching for the perfect Madras curry and finally found it here. Had the goat, lamb, chicken medley. Just the perfect amount of heat, delicious flavour and way more than I could possibly eat. I had coconut rice with it, also delicious. Pakoras and Idly to start, yum. My Wife, Sasja, had a dosa and she loved it. Atmosphere was enticing, everyone seemed to be enjoying the food. Served by a couple of happy, attentive young people who really paid attention to detail. Can t wait to go back.
They really need to work on their flavors. We ordered Dal makhni, paneer butter masala, chapati, and Idli. Food didnt taste well, and service was too slow. The chapatis were hard and thick like a Frisbee. The only plus point was their location views and lime soda.
The food was good! I ordered kerala porotta with beef roast and masala dosa. I am giving only 4 star because of the porotta, it was Not porotta you cannot trick a malayalee with flattened poori saying it s porotta! If it taste like poori and looks like poori :) it is poori not porotta.
Very delicious and good service
Poor service took over 45 mins to get order ready..
Went there with my friends nobody took order for atleast 20 minutes then after a girl came to our table then we ordered food and after 30 minutes we asked how long it will take she said 10 more minutes because we are so busy we waited more 20 minutes but people who came after us got their food but we didn t.At the end we had to left without eating food. Poor service by staff not going back.
Was there last night with a couple of my friends, had to wait for 15 minutes for someone to take the order and spent 45 minutes for the food and then staff came and said that it will take another 10 minutes for the food to be ready. We waited for another 20 minutes, and I noticed the people who arrived after us, like maybe 30 minutes after us, already had the food on the table. It was really frustrating and disappointing, as it was a clear wastage of time. Very Disrespectful.
Had the Idly Vada combo, was so good for its price an extremely filling. Im happy to see the wharf st location has the same quality as their other older location
Nestled in Victoria, Dosa Paragon offers a tantalizing menu of traditional Indian dishes. With meticulous attention to authenticity, each bite bursts with rich flavors and spices. Impeccable service and a warm ambiance complete the experience, making it a must-visit for lovers of genuine Indian cuisine.
Its very disorder restaurant i never trying again.
Taste good,
Dosa Paragon has always been my go to place for any kind of dosa. They offer other mouth-watering items as well. Love the masala tea and mango lassi too! At long last, we were at the Dosa Paragons new location on Mothers Day. We had different items (e.g., butter chicken, lamb masala, prawn masala and chicken biriyani) and the food was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the South Indian paratha and rice pudding too! Highly recommended restaurant overlooking the beautiful waterways in Victoria downtown. Kudos to Chef Prashant and wife for this new venture!
Wow! We had amazing dosas.
I ordered paratha and beef roast. It was so good and yum.Anfia who took my order was so friendly and nice to me.Soon I will go again.I recommend this place to anyone who crave for south Indian food.
Well, sitting area with comfort. Best view. It is located in the heart of downtown. Great atmosphere and friendly staff Vegetarian options: They have many vegetarian options, and they taste amazing Dietary restrictions: They can serve on specific things if mentioned Parking: You can park down near the Harbor Air platform at the paid parking section. Its 9$ for 2 hours. Wheelchair accessibility: They have 2 section upstairs and downstairs. Up floor is the big party area. Down they have plenty of space and sitting area. Its stairs so its not kind of wheelchair accessible area.
Excellent food in a good location. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options Food : 5/5 |
What an amazing restaurant, amazing food and hospitality. Amazing vada, dosa. Ask more crisp if you want it to be. Over all i will definitely visit if i am in Victoria
We were on our second trip to Victoria in May 2024, and we remembered how good the food we ordered from Dosa Paragon was during our previous trip. With that experience in mind, we decided to order dinner from them again. It was only then that we realized they had opened another location at Wharf Street. To our delight, the food was as delicious as our previous experience. The masala dosa was as authentic as it can be. Their large crispy vadas are to die for.
We ate here on a recommendation and I m so glad we did- it s some of the best Indian food I ve had in a while. We got the goat vindaloo, butter chicken, and a stuffed dosa. The food was so good that we actually forgot to take pictures. While the menu is huge, the service was quick and friendly, the portions were large and the dosa was perfectly crispy. The curries were fresh and flavourful although I could have done with a touch more spice. I will definitely be recommending. The building is also beautiful.
Food was not the best, maybe cause there are not as many Indians as where we live? South Indian dishes where meh and the roti were thick and not well rolled, undercooked. Over all not worth for the money
Dosa Paragon is my favourite Victoria restaurant. The food is always delicious. Everything is fresh and flavorful. Dishes are made to order so it can take a little bit of time, this is not fast food, but comes out hot and made with love!! We had the tomato cilantro uttapam and chicken 65 as starters. Then the mysor masala dosa and butter chicken dosa. Served with tomato and coconut chutney and sambar. That sambar has a kick to it and just warms the soul. The dosas are crispy and savory and my absolute favorite food. Highly recommend Dosa Paragon. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan and vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: They are gf certified Loads of vegan options
Today, we had a disappointing experience at the restaurant. We ordered Chicken 65, beef roast, paratha, chicken noodles, and biryani. The beef roast turned out to be a tomato curry with no salt, which was very disappointing. The paratha was reheated and not fresh, making it oily and crisp instead of soft. The noodles were burnt, adding to the letdown. Whats more concerning is that we had to ask the servers for water, and when we informed the waiter about our experience, they simply handed over the payment machine and left. Overall, the quality of food and service has significantly dropped, and this visit was a major letdown. Well have to think twice before referring or visiting again. Management needs to address these issues to maintain their standards and improve customer satisfaction.
Stopped in to see Bobs new location for Dosa Paragon. Wow. Like normal, the food is among the best Indian food that Ive ever had. I chose the Goat Masala Dosa and it was perfect. The Mango Lassi is to die for. They have an interesting view of Victorias inner harbour and the restaurant was busy. Thank you Bob for the excellent dinner on a Sunday evening, and congratulations on your successful new restaurant. We will definitely be back...
Had an amazing meal at Dosa Paragon. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was cozy with an amazing waterview. Definitely a must-visit spot for anyone looking for great indian food and a memorable dining experience. Will be back for sure. And i recommend to try their dosa which has a lot of varieties.
This place is incredible. Been ordering for years from their Yates location and eaten in a few times too there too - they re such kind folks and it s always busy! Can t wait to eat in at their new location on Wharf St!
We go here usually to the food court location and have been for 2 years. This was our first time at this location and I absolutely would not go again. The service was horrible, we didn t get things we asked for lengthy periods of time and I had to help another table by reminding the waitress that they had food but no cutlery to ensure they could eat. The food was subpar we got the lamb kothurothi and it was not good and chewy with a lack of flavour. We also had no parota in it and needed to order another one to be able to eat it. We usually get butter chicken dosa and vadas from the food court, maybe we should have stuck to it. But to be clear outside of the food, the service is what really disappointed me and when I expressed it to them as I paid, it didn t seem like it mattered to the girl taking my payment. I ll give the food court location a chance again and suggest you go there for quality food and kindness. This location still needs to work out their process and issues with staff.
Always amazing, without fail. Fantastic vegetarian food. All of it is so good! Dosas! Vada! Chettinad curry is sooo yummy! Vegetarian options: So many options, you cant go wrong.
Very slow service, they took 40-50 mins to give our order. And were making doordash orders. Very unsatisfactory experience.
Im based in Vancouver, but by far the most authentic indian place Ive been too! Cant believe I have to come down all the way to Victoria to treat myself! Staff was extremely patient and accomodating! Wish we could have a place like this in Vancouver! Will highly reccomend anyone who is missing or wanting to try some authenic Indian food!
Paragon Dosa hits the spot for South Indian cravings! The Mysore Masala Dosa was fantastic its been a while since Ive had such a good one. The idli were perfectly cooked, soft, and flavorful, and the chutney was delicious. Be aware that there might be a wait for your food. However, if youre looking for authentic South Indian idli and dosa, the wait is absolutely worth it. For those who might not be accustomed to waiting a bit for freshly prepared food, its something to keep in mind. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options . Parking: Paid INDIGO parking lot just next to this Restaurant. 2.22US$ for an hour
Awesome. You should come to this restaurant close to Victoria legislation.
Something went wrong with the order being very delayed but staff would not acknowledge or explain. Food was certainly tasty.
Fabulous food, great price, great staff. Exceptionally flavorful and great value
Most authentic and tasty Indian food in Victoria that Ive had, with the most varied menu! Location / atmosphere is beautiful too. Chilli paneer was great and very spicy, other things were mild - best to clarify spice level before ordering here.
Long wait for delivery pickup Not helped by store employees They took 10 minutes to pack the orders Service : 1/5
We were craving some Indian food so we decided to visit this place : What we ordered : chettenad chicken, kerala parantha , appam, chicken kottu parontha and masala chai The quantity of Chicken Chettand could have been more because I have eaten at a lot of indian places and it didn t seem like it was enough for 2 people - it was not a standard size. Taste-wise - 7/10 Appam was okay - 3/5 (it s like dosa without stuffing) Kerala parontha was too dry : it should have had some ghee or butter on it (authentic way) My rating : 6/10 Chicken Kottu parontha - 9/10 It was delicious and very filling and the quantity was good enough for 2 people. It was really good and I can swear by it. I really loved it because the flavours were very good - I just hoped they gave gravy with it too but this was the best thing I ate here. Servers are sweet and vibe is great! We spent around 60-70$
All good
Having recently visited India and craving an authentic taste of South Indian cuisine, I stumbled upon this gem of a place. The moment I took a bite of their Omelet Dosa with cheese, I was transported back to the vibrant streets of India. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, blending traditional South Indian spices with a modern twist. The crispy dosa, filled with fluffy omelet and melted cheese, was a delightful fusion of textures and tastes. Its a must-try for anyone looking to experience the essence of India in every bite. Trust me, youll thank me later for this culinary journey!
An unforgettable dining experience with exceptional service. The vegan options were creative and delicious..overall good restaurant in victoria. Food
Best dosa I have ever had. So good that we went back twice during our trip
I am a regular but the last time I was there they served dosa with stale stuffing resulting in a stomach issue. I have always loved the food now I will twice before going.
Taste wise food is too good. Recommend for dosa and south Indian varieties.
Went to this place 3-4 times during a long weekend stay in Victoria. Had rava dosa, vada and many different varieties of uttapams. Service had some room for improvement, but the food was amazing. Very conveniently located. Vegetarian options: Dosa place, so they definitely have vegetarian options.
I love the food over here & I have reviewed there old location about new location it s way to cold to dine in so I hope they will put up heater soon which will be must thing to do . The entrance door bell is way too high which disrupts your dinner & spoils the whole concept of dine in. I hope they will work on same & it will bless them with more happy satisfied customers. Thank you.
Visited dosa paragon several times and it s always been a nice time! Never disappointed with what I ve ordered! The hospitality offered by the staff is welcoming, genuine and friendly! Every time I eat, I m taken back home and reminded of my mom s hot hot dosa(especially the egg dosa she makes for me). Truly captures the South Indian flavours. My favourite dishes are Vada, Kuthu Parotta , Utthapam and of course their Egg Dosa. Their menu is so extensive and they have so much to offer , I still haven t tried a lot of the dishes but whatever I ve eaten during all my visits have always made me think of home! The portions they offer are generous and definitely is worth the price and makes me satisfied! Every time I visit , it is always a reminder of home cooked comfort food! PS: the restaurant has a nice ambiance
I am giving 3 for food because the taste was totally different than we use to eat in India, rather than that it was good experience.
One of the best South Indian restaurants in Victoria city. As name says, it s a heaven of Dosa. I would suggest to try every Dosa from there. Butter Chicken Dosa and Beef Curry Dosa are my favourite. I went for this year s Valentine s Day special combo as well. To be honest, it was really worth.
Excellent place excellent food!! We tried prawns Moilee highly recommended. Food
Yeah good

Best Biryani in Victoria Authentic taste and I m highly recommending it Very attractive ambience (Wharf St) I had pista kulfi for my dessert which had a unique taste. Definitely going to continue visiting here a lot more.
Delicious Authentic South Indian Food...
It was our first time in the restaurant. The servers were really polite and friendly. Food I ordered was customized by the chef on my request and tasted amazing. They rice pudding was delicious. Over all it was a positive experience and would like to visit again next time. Cheers!
Its in one of the oldest buildings in Victorias Old Town, right up from the waterfront. Huge floor to ceiling windows, a yacht moored at the dock, great Harbour views. However, tables along the south wall have benches with no gap in front of the window, so you had to climb over them to get in or out. Awkward!
Their dosas are best in Victoria. Authentic south Indian food and the south Indian coffee is the best! Great staff, service and ambience. Highly suggested for South Indian food lovers!
Yummy food! Tons of GF and Vegetarian options
Very nice place, good service and yummilicious food Vegetarian options: very light and simple food with variety of Vegan options Food : 5/5 |
Had a recent visit there. We ordered chicken biriyani, kerala porotta, goat chettinadu, omelette masala dosa and pepper masala wings. We got the food quite quickly and the food was really really amazing. The customer service is worth mentioning; they offer first-rate hospitality. I heartily suggest Dosa Paragon to anyone searching for a similar dining experience. The wonderful part is that we received a complimentary dish of vermicelli pudding. We enjoyed a lot.
$5.24 after taxes for a Kulfi! From which angle is this a Kulfi? Neither does it look like a Kulfi nor does it taste like even a regular ice-cream! Its like having coloured frozen ice stored in a small plastic container! Its the worst iced based thing Ive ever had id say! Never thought that an ice-cream can be disappointing. My suggestion to Dosa Paragon is that try learning first about what kulfi is, only after that sell something named Kulfi! Totally not worth going for this here!
Dietary restrictions: Plenty of gluten free options Kid-friendliness: Hair chairs and booster seats available Food : 5/5 |
So delicious! Always a pleasure dining here :)
Nice ambience, with sea view..Bright natural light..soft music..
Food was just Brilliant!!! Authentic South Indian food. All the dishes were mouthwatering. Thank you for a great time.
Great dosa and kothu parota.
We recently visited Dosa Paragons for my best friends birthday celebration with a group of five. Despite not having made a reservation in advance on a busy family day, the staff accommodated us graciously. However, we noticed that our waitress seemed a bit overwhelmed, possibly indicating that she was new, as she accidentally spilled a full glass of water on my friend. Nevertheless, the staff promptly apologized and generously offered us a complimentary meal, which was a kind gesture. The food, as always, was exceptional. Unfortunately, when we received the bill and intended to leave a tip to express our gratitude for their hospitality, we were surprised to find that we were charged the full amount. Additionally, it seemed unusual that the waitress who had spilled the water also requested a Google review. While we are not overly concerned about the billing discrepancy, we believe its essential not to offer gestures that cannot be fulfilled.
We love Dosa Paragon, the food on the regular menu is always outstanding, and offers something different from the usual westernized dishes. For new years day this year we ordered their special vegetarian Sadya feast, and feast was truly the appropriate description! The dishes were delicious, but definitely not white people food, though I truly mean that in the best possible way. We had no idea what each dish was, but it was so fun to try each one and discover new flavours. Our only complaint was that it was actually too much food, we could easily have split one between two people, but now we have yummy leftovers for tomorrow. Bob, the owner, was lovely and so happy for us to try out this Sadya tradition.
We have ordered several times and also have dined in Dosa Paragon at Wharf street. Always excellent food, fabulous hospitality and great atmosphere to dine in. Today we did buy their new year feast. One of the finest feast lunch I would recommend for everyone. All of the dishes were too good and exotic in taste. Everytime they make this with utmost care and concern. Thank you Bob for the excellent food Everytime. Vegetarian options: Dosa paragon has lots of vegetarian options. Excellent varieties of Dosa.
A place when you are missing home . Love the food and atmosphere. Cravings were definitely satisfied. Food
Love this restaurant -- the food was fabulous. The menu is amazing! Service was great! And, love the building and how it is set up. Highly recommend this place and will come again!
Vegetarian options: The place was too cold the mysore masala Dosa we ordered it without masala but got with masala. The sambar was bland. There was a hair in the Dosa. No one came to ask if we want anything else. No one even came to clear the table after we ate for more than 30 minutes. It was totally a waste of time and money.
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Dosa Paragons catering for a birthday event, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The menu options, attention to dietary needs and the impeccable presentation of each dish truly set them apart. I highly recommend Dosa Paragon for anyone looking for catering services.
Awesome South Indian cuisine
Dosa Paragon is go to Resturant in Victoria BC, we have always enjoyed the service and courtesy they provide each time we visited. There Sadhya on onam and Newyear was unbelievable value for money! It is always a pleasure to go back to the master of this craft.
Favourite South Indian Restaurant in Victoria. Their Chettinad Chicken curry and Kerala Parotta is a must try! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian and vegan options
Delicious beef kothuporotta
Food kinda made up for the super slow service. Would have left 2 stars if the food wasnt up to the mark but thankfully for them it worked out. Because I dont know if it was a Monday special thing or something else they were offering, where they delayed service for food orders was on the menu or maybe thats how they operate. If thats the case then they need to step up their service game because food took more than 45 mins to reach our table. Food for the most part was good except for the chilli dosa.
Extremely long wait time for the service. I wasn t gonna write it but then I saw the disrespectful way the owner responds to other people s negative reviews, nobody goes out of their way to say things that are untrue if they had a good experience. My service was atrocious, food was barely average but the communication was zero. I had to wait over 50 minutes to get 2 dosas while I ordered the most basic dish on the menu- masala dosa! If you cannot take criticism positively and improve, maybe don t run an incompetent restaurant!
I just loveeeeeeeeeeeeee the food here. Super awesome place and the service is also good. Vegetarian options: So many.
Me and my partner love coming here. The food is amazing! Everything is so flavourful and different from each-other. the service is always great to match. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegan and gluten free options.
Food was above average, service was NOT GOOD, two people working FOH with a half full restaurant and not too many online orders and still somehow people that came in had to wait for tables to be cleaned.... It somehow took 40 mins to make 2 dosas even when it was not too busy, I had asked for the filling to be on the side which wasnt done but didnt say anything as I didnt want to wait another 30 mins. I believe the issue was being understaffed, I dont know if it was just a bad day or if it happens often but it couldve been better! Wheelchair accessibility: Only saw stairs leading down, dont think theres another entry or elevator.
I had the pleasure of dining at Dosa Paragon, and it truly exceeded all expectations! As a South Indian, I can confidently say that this restaurant has mastered the art of delivering an authentic and delightful dining experience. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a touch of South Indian culture that adds to the overall charm. The staff was incredibly friendly and provided excellent recommendations. Now, lets talk about the star of the show the dosas! Absolutely sensational. The dosas were perfectly crisp on the outside and delightfully soft on the inside, filled with an array of mouthwatering flavors. The variety on the menu is impressive, offering something for everyone, from classic dosas to inventive twists on traditional recipes. The service was prompt, and the staffs knowledge of the menu helped us navigate through the extensive choices. The restaurants commitment to providing a top-notch dining experience was evident in every aspect of our visit. If youre a fan of South Indian cuisine or just looking to explore new flavors, Dosa Paragon is an absolute gem. I left with a satisfied palate and a strong desire to return for more. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic and delicious South Indian dining adventure!
What refreshing change from your typical Indian restaurant! Decided to do date night here with my fiancee and were not disappointed. We tried an eponymous Dosa selection along with a sample platter that let you try a few different things. They did have the conventional curries offered at most Indian restaurants, but we decided it better to focus on the specialties of this place and opted out on the curry. Dosa Paragon is definitely a winner and is not to be missed. Forgot to mention that the prices are very reasonable as well. We each had a mango lassi and more than enough food and the bill was around $50.
Great place with awesome food. Vegetarian options: Got a lot of vegan and vegetarian options Food : 5/5 |
Lovely place, generous portions and everything was delicious
Dosa Paragon really is the paragon of good South Indian food in Victoria. The range of foods is pretty different from what one might eat at a restaurant that focussed on the foods most Canadians know well. But this Keralan-style is also full of curries, as well as biryani, and other foods you ll know well. We had a number of really amazing dishes, including dosa lentil crepe with chickpeas (huge and tasty), pakoras, chicken chettinad curry, lassi, biryani. Each was superb. Vegetarian options: Chana, dosa, idly, lentil soup, dal and much more. Dietary restrictions: There are dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan options.
Best Indian restaurant in Victoria and best dosa , just like in south India !
Lamb korma and paratha is my love language
Best Dosa I ve had in my 35 years in Canada.Fresh and delicious and just the perfect amount of crisp. My only suggestion would be to give a slightly increased portion of the sambhar ( dal) for the size of the dosa. Also ask for your filling option on the side, to keep your dosa crisp. The servers are attentive and pleasant and always eager to please. The Wharf st located has a charming feel with exposed stone walls of the heritage building. They offer South Indian curries as well as some great vegetarian options. The goat curry was really tasty and had just the right amount of coconut flavour. Dosa is a savory crepe. Don t miss out on the South Indian coffee, it s the perfect closure to the meal . Being of Indian background my choice of dining out would not be Indian cuisine, however Dosa Paragon has me hooked! Vegetarian options: Plenty of options but not overwhelming that you have to spend a long time looking through. Dietary restrictions: Plenty to select for Gluten and Dairyfree
Highly recommended !!!! This restaurant know the difference between customer and a guest, very hospitable service by two pretty servers, food was on time, although the restaurant was super busy with full of delivery and dine in orders, but that doesn t mean, it will effect your food quality or service, I rather would wait little extra, for good food. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Chilly paneer dosa & hakka noodles - highly recommended Will definitely come back. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options
Dosa Paragon offers a unique southern Indian dining experience different from a lot of the northern Indian cuisines I am used to. I quite liked the meal and portion sizes . The menu is quite extensive and theres something there for everyone to enjoy~
We had a great experience here tonight all for a very reasonable price. The setting is nice with a view of the harbor and located within a historical building. Staff were courteous and attentive. We tried the chili paneer dosa which was delicious. I especially enjoyed the coconut chutney. We also ordered the South Indian combo plate which offered a nice sampling as we had not tried Idli, Uthappam or Veda before. We also had the masala chai which was lovely. All in all a great experience and we look forward to trying it again. Vegetarian options: Tonnes of vegetarian options and also Vegan as well as gluten free. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options Kid-friendliness: They do have a childrens menu Wheelchair accessibility: There is a long set of stairs to get to the dining area. I missed whether the doorway was wheelchair accessible but there is some seating upstairs although at the time we went the area was empty.
First time at Dosa and it definitely won t be my last! I ordered the Panner Butter Misala, and oh my goodness was it ever delicious! The gravy was the best I ve had and the spices really kicked. My only hiccup would be that my black tea that I ordered first, came out when I was almost done my food It would have been nice to sip on while waiting for my lunch. The decor is still the same when it was a sushi restaurant previously, so it s a little bit weird to look at, but the outside view makes you forget!! Highly recommend
