Pho, vermicelli & other Vietnamese favorites feature on the menu at this long-running, casual cafe.
A lovely family-run Vietnamese spot, the flavors here are truly deep and comforting, making for an especially lovely wintertime dinner!
I’ve been 4 times and each visit has been amazing!!! The food is incredible, the building is a slice of history and the service is world class. All the servers are friendly and knowledgeable. I can’t fault the place. We had a veggie in the group and they had some great food options too
This is a place that's fills every night. And if you want to get in, call ahead or show up early! It's small, only a few tables. The chef and kitchen staff are a single family or so goes the story. I never got to meet any one of them. The menu is straightforward, as you can see. And to look at the tables and simple atmosphere before the food arrives might lead you to ask what's so special because it's always full. Well, to paraphrase a 🇺🇸 presidential candidate from the 90s , "it's the food stupid!" And it is. I had the Mama's plate and the vegetable spring rolls. And both were to die for. So if you are in Victoria BC go! And as for the service. I fell in love with my server, a wonderful smile, a sense of humor, and a personality that made you smile, not want to leave. My life is like a leaf in the wind, and I was grateful that it had carried me to this place to experience great food and a magical server. DEFINITELY must do. And now to ser where the wind takes me next.
Spring rolls were great, gluten free as is much of the menu. Would have been nice if there was a bit of lettuce on the plate for wrap. Friend had a vermicelli bowl, looked and smelled good. We had the pho, and that is where it unraveled... the broth had some interesting flavour notes but was too sweet. It was also darker (brown) than we are accustomed to (my spouse is from Vietnam). Plenty of ingredients, sufficient basil. While it was not too busy on a Sat morning there was no follow up after the food was served ("so how is your meal"). The second server that came on chose to argue with me when paying the bill (we were splitting with a friend) with a "you said"... I know what I said, they misunderstood and made an assumption. They did not have a payment device that could be brought to the table and it was broken; requiring that they hold the card in the machine while entering the info. The bill for lunch for three people was $85 plus an extra charge for hot sauce; so I don't feel that their price rating of $$ is accurate for a destination with a tired interior and lean back lounge chairs instead of dining chairs.
Food tasted right for a Vietnamese pho, but the broth can be improved. Ambience is dimly lit with Jazz music. Staff is very attentive, and service is prompt. But there is no free wifi. ☹️
Enjoyed the food- had the lemon grass beef vermecilli bowl- and the service was great as well. Quite the location and the place itself was nice and quaint. Our waitress was really sweet too! Must try spot in Victoria!
Had another super meal here. Friendly staff, great service and tasty food at reasonable prices. Their pho is excellent. Tried the tofu hotpot which was served with rice and shared a papaya salad.
Absolute hidden gem with showstopper pho! 🍜 We both had the chicken soup that is 10/10. Family-owned mother-daughter restaurant that’s always full - and rightfully so! We loved hearing their story 🫶🏼 and we’ll be back for more delicious pho! 💕
My fave Vietnamese place in Victoria! My faves are the spicy meatballs pho and the grilled lemon pork with spring roll. Food : 5/5
Moms Vietnamese stew for the ultimate win! Simply the most delicious dish, youll be maxed at the tenderness of the beef...spring rolls authentic, tasty sweet fish sauce...and the pho is simply the best in Victoria. True tastiness...dont forget to book ahead of time. Fills up fast and only one server most of the time(the daughter runs the FOH)
The best pho ever! The flavour, especially of the spicy beef, is just incredible! Ive been coming here for the past 5 years, and its fantastic every time. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. I brought my two-year-old and my baby. They have high chairs, and the staff were so considerate, bringing small bowls and napkins without us even asking.
Phó feels like one of the most nurturing dishes around, and whenever Im in a rut I usually seek it out as a pick me up. Coincidentally, that is the main reason Ive visited this restaurant. The staff are great, the restaurant itself has a very welcoming and comfortable setting, and the portion sizes are consistent and plentiful! I prefer their original phó, as the spicy option masks some of the nuances of the broth, and Id be delighted to just drink this broth from a mug. Overall, I highly recommend visiting if youre hungry and in the area! Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at front entrance, however bathrooms are down a flight of stairs.
I get a spicy pho every other week, its quite spicy but always top-notch!
literally the best pho i have ever had, a must stop every time i come to victoria, i could honestly write love letters to this place its so good
Efficient service and authentic taste. We orders the sampler appetizer and the chef special pho, and it hit the spot on a cold evening. The pho broth was rich and there were a plethora of protein which was impressive given that we were dining in Victoria and not the lower mainland. Would recommend a visit if you re looking for a comforting meal. Vegetarian options: Whole backside of the menu dedicated to vegetarian options.
Delicious Vietnamese food. Of course, the quantities are abundant... many diners asked to take away dishes that they could not finish. The place is cozy and the girls who attended us were charming. Yes I would recommend it.
Best Vietnamese food in the city. Loveliest staff too
The best pho I ve ever had. The spicy beef noodle soup??? Are you kidding me?? Saved my hungover self. Will always 10/10 recommend to friends when in Vic. :)
The food is VERY FRESH and high quality. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options. Food : 5/5 |
This place is fantastic. I got a to go order of the Lemongrass Stir Fry vermicelli bowl and it was soooooo good. So good, that I paused eating it to write this review. The two girls at the front were so so sweet, and overall I have nothing but praise for this legendary place!
Arrived at 5pm on a Friday it was empty. Had spicy beef pho which was perfect for a rainy cold day.
Great food and kind people who make sure you enjoy the food and feel welcome. Best Vietnamese pho downtown!
Best Vietnamese food I ve had
Small restaurant with limited tables and chairs. 30 minutes waiting for a table. Food was great. Worth the wait.
Was excited to try this place given the good reviews, but ultimately disappointed from the lack of communication from the staff. We were told a 30 minute wait time, but it ended up being over 1 hour and we ended up going elsewhere to get food - we eventually got a call over an hour later just a couple minutes before the stores closing time (??). Not asking for too much here, just would have appreciated it if the staff had come out and updated us on the wait time so we didnt have to aimlessly stand outside for that long.
Food looked delicious! Sadly we never had the chance to try. Our party of 4 arrived at the restaurant @7:15 the waitress greeted us and said that the wait time was going to be 30 minutes which was totally fine. We waiting outside for almost 45 with no communication I went back inside to check on the wait. The waitress said that they were still waiting for the table to leave so I stepped back out and when an hour had finally passed I went in to ask if we will even be served as there was only 15 minutes till closing. We waited 10 more minutes till close and decided that we waited enough and even if we were to be seated at that moment we would ve had to rush and finish our meal. Not long after we received a call at 8:24 that s 6 minutes till close.. servers were nice but we were all hungry and sadly the lack of communication really pushed us away
Great vermicelli and pho. Very casual
Overall a decent pho place. Pho is pretty good, just wish the broth had a bit more depth and the tendon was less fatty. Shrimp salad roll kinda fell apart and the peanut sauce was very sweet.
The pho was possibly the best weve ever had. Found out it was made with homemade recipe. The broth was phenomenal.
Best vietnamese food in Victoria
One of the most underrated restaurants in Victoria. The food is great and the servers are really nice. Highly recommend
Best. Pho. Period. Crisp soup. Can tell the chef makes their broth in-house. Food
A family oriented restaurant. Food are pretty much to excellent. Price is very reasonable
We had the spicy beef pho and fried rice. Everything is mediocre. Not bad but I wouldn t want to be back. Broth is too sweet to my taste and it s not spicy at all. Service is on the slow side (waited 20 mins) for the dish.
Sparknotes: Despite arriving well before closing, we were turned away by a hostess who claimed no available seats, later denied takeout due to alleged kitchen closure, and received dismissive service, leaving us disappointed and questioning the establishments professionalism. For those who want the full story: My experience at this restaurant left much to be desired. Despite arriving 40 minutes before the kitchen closed, we were met with a disappointing reception from the hostess. She asked us what time it was. Upon informing her of the time, she claimed there were no available seats despite the presence of numerous empty tables. This initial encounter set a negative tone for our dining experience, leaving us feeling unwelcome. We returned shortly after, before the kitchens closing time given to us by the first hostess, hoping to secure takeout. However, we were met with further frustration as the second hostess informed us that the kitchen had already closed. When we mentioned the discrepancy in the information provided by the first hostess, her response was dismissive, defensive, and borderline rude, stating, If you want to wait a super long time while we push out everyone elses order, you probably could. She went on to mention they were short-staffed. Being short-staffed is a perfectly acceptable reason not to seat us, and I understand why that may have led to some stress for the waitstaff. However, the lack of transparency, consistency, and respectful communication not only tainted our impression of the restaurant but also left us questioning the professionalism and customer service standards upheld by its staff.
My favorite place to eat in victoria. Its a small establishment with limited seating but the atmosphere is very cozy. The staff are lovely and the food is delicious. The food is affordable and I always leave with enough leftovers for another meal.
I have been here twice and it is now my go-to Vietnamese restaurant. My favourite dishes are the spicy beef noodle soup and Mom s Special with a side of beef broth. So dang delicious!
I love this little restaurant. My partner and I go a few times a month, it s such a cozy meal and atmosphere. The staff are super nice and kind. We love the spring rolls and spicy beef noodle soup. This place is a local gem and family owned. With limited seating, there s always a chance that they won t have capacity to seat you. Call ahead and make a reservation if you don t want to be turned away during peak hours. It s unlikely they ll be able to accommodate you if you arrive an hour before close. They are a small team doing their best, be kind to them. I m celiac and I ve never had an issue. Just ask about their GF items, most of the menu can be accommodated!
This is hands down the best Vietnamese we ve ever had. The curry, beef vermicelli bowl, Mom s, and seafood hotpot all get 10s from us. The flavors are complex and well balanced. The service was wonderful! Very friendly and welcoming place. We loved it and only wish we were here longer to have it again.
We were greeted by Kim as we walked in. We sat at a table of our choice, and reviewed the delicious menu. Simple, but difficult to choose from because of the curated choices. Our food came at an excellent pace, and the flavours were out of this world. Layers of spices, fragrance, texture and subtleties. You could really taste the care and love in every dish. Wow. We can t wait to come back to our new favourite place. Thank you Kim our server and her Ma, the chef, for making our night memorable!! You two are awesome!
Get the stew. That is all
Good food, great service
Absolutely amazing food. Great place with peaceful atmosphere.
Came across this place on a busy Saturday night when most restaurants were full. Not only were there free tables but it was cheaper than most other spots downtown. Not to mention the top class food quality and massive portions. As well as the amazing food, the staff were very friendly. Dont be afraid to ask for a box to take food home, I saw plenty of people doing the same, myself included!
Amazing place very quiet and best Vietnamese Ive had in Victoria. Staff was amazing and friendly 100% recommend hidden gem in Victoria always will be back cant wait.
Vegetarian options: Several (incredibly delicious) vegan items on the menu Recommended dishes
This is maybe my fave places in Victoria to eat - period. The soups, rolls and the special beef stew. I don t know if I have ever had better food anywhere else. And wonderful people own it. Kid-friendliness: The owners are great and there is lots of room. Our daughter is growing up here; once a month . ;)
Me and my husband really enjoy this restaurant for its traditional authentic home made Vietnamese food. You can taste the food and love put into every meal with the complexity and layers of flavors. Since we moved to Victoria we have been searching for a great Vietnamese restaurant which would be comparable to our travels to Vietnam in the past and we found it. The owner truly makes the atmosphere with her natural friendly demeanor and welcoming attitude. This is a family run business that is a true hidden gem. Two of our favorite dishes include the beef stew, with its spice and slow cooked beef just melting in your mouth. The beef noodle soup is another top notch item to order, with so many complex flavors you not regret ordering.
The most amazing dish ever! Thank you
1st time at Le Petit Saigon and was impressed. The food was authentic, and the portions were fair. Friendly staff and some of the best quality South East Asian dishes Ive had in Victoria. Food : 5/5
We had a really nice evening, thanks to the friendly and attentive service and the good food. Since we dont know Vietnamese cuisine well, we let her pick out different dishes for us. The food was fantastic and Le Petit Saigon is definitely worth a visit.
Often closed during posted hours. Even almost 30 minutes prior to closing. I purposely hurried to make it long before closing (1:50) only to be told closed AGAIN.
Great cozy atmosphere, tables spread nicely so there s lots of room. Been here twice and both times it was very enjoyable. Soup feels generous with proteins and just enough noodles and broth to make you full but not exploding. The spring rolls and the salad rolls are quite large, could easily split it for two.
Rating should be excellent but really disappointing that theyve cut the hours down....You are losing tons of money cause of this!!!
Went there for some dinner a couple nights ago. They were understaffed, though very prompt and polite on their service. As well as the food was delicious! I will most definitely be going there again! Definitely check it out, if you havent already!
Ive been to Le Petit Saigon on multiple occasions when visiting Victoria and its far and away the best Viet restaurant on the island. Perfect location downtown, warm and friendly staff, and amazing delicious food. They also offer an excellent vegetarian menu with a number of excellent dishes, including Ginger hotpot, Lemongrass stir fry and a mouth-watering vermicelli tofu bowl. I highly recommend Le Petit Saigon. The owner Kimmie is always very welcoming and treats everyone with warmth and makes you feel right at home. A must-visit for locals or anyone visiting beautiful Victoria!
A true hidden gem!
This is the best vietnamese restaurant in town! Everything we ordered was incredibly delicious and the service was fast and friendly. The owner came out and said hello to us. She is super awesome. Highly recommend
Hands down the best Pho joint in Victoria! Only regret is that I wish I found it sooner. The broth is to die for, the lemongrass is amazing and the spring rolls are massive, crispy and absolutely delicious! Don t even hesitate - go here now!
Best Pho in Victoria - hands down!
This place is incredible! I had the tofu hotpot and just about drank the sauce. Lots of veggie options, which the lovely server just told me are actually all vegan. Highly highly recommend!
Always delicious! Definitely my favourite restaurant of all time
Merci, Le Petit Saigon...! My dinner hit the spot - however no picture cuz I enjoyed it just that much! Had the chef special soup (which has everything in it) and chef was super generous with the ingredients! Ive had the same version at other places and its usually just one piece of tendon, one meatball... But chef gave me 5 big pieces of tendon (little did they know Im a tendon monster), at least 2 pieces of meatball and lots of beef slices! Super yummy soup as well. Thank you for such a lovely meal! My partner also loved his meal, the garden curry, and ordered a second helping of rice to mop up all the curry... I do think the one serving of rice is def not enough for the curry given. All in all a very satisfying meal on a rainy night, thank you very much!
What you need on a cold winter night.
Love all we ordered !!! The curry, the skewers and the fresh veggie roll...they are all good. Oh ! You should try yheir Green Papaya Salad as your starter...sooo good !!!
I do not recommend Le Petit Saigon if you are interested in take out. When the restaurant opened for the day, I was the first to arrive and the first to order. But I was asked to wait 20mins for my order as dine in customers get priority. I can see why they have this policy and waited patiently. Unfortunately, I did not know that meant being second class to all patrons who continually came in. After waiting 30mins, they still had not started on my order. I left the restaurant, frustrated, with extra payment on my parking time, and did not get my food as I ran out of time to wait.
The salad role was the best I have ever had. They have this crunchy thing in the middle that is a game changer. We had the bun and it was all really, really delicious, except the chicken. It was a bit soggy and tasteless. I would definitely eat here again but I would get something else.
Friendly staff, excellent food. The beef pho and the pork and shrimp soup both excellent. Well definitely be back!!
Friendly server and okay food. Restaurant interior is very outdated has no acoustic insulation. I could hear everything what the other 3 tables around me were saying. It was very loud or maybe they were loud people Food
We loved the Vietnamese grilled lemongrass chicken with the spring roll. The spring roll was a very generous portion, it was super big from being deep-fried. Very cozy and comfortable atmosphere. One note: do not order the spicy meatball soup unless you eat very spicy! It is actually spicy (and my friend couldn t handle it haha) but very delicious flavors nonetheless. But they do mean it when they say spicy! :) Highly recommend.
If I was Vietnamese my grandma would make me food like that, you feel like a warm hug with Le Petit Saigon s meals , Kim is amazing and the staffs are top notch , I can t say enough how happy I am I found this hidden gem every time I visit Victoria
Very unfriendly reception. When My family came for a table, the staff told us to wait for 40 mins even there are a lot of vacant tables. Ok wait then, but when we ask to let the little kid use the toilet while waiting, the staff refused without hesistation. When I took my kid to the public restroom nearby, the staff went on to ask my wife and the other kid to go outside for waiting! Enough for a small and pretty much unorganized outlet, we not even had mood to try the food there.
We came here because of the positive reviews and were finally looking forward to an alternative to American food. As soon as I walked in it smelled unpleasantly strong. The restaurant is very old and worn out. Plants are unkempt and dead. But the service tops everything. The 2 friendly girls are super nice and very professional and quick. The food was also okay, but not our best frame soup weve ever eaten. The portions are large. Unfortunately, the meat in my spicy beef soup was inedible. It had a strange consistency, was partly still raw and quite tough. My wifes chicken soup, on the other hand, was very good. Price-performance ratio is okay. But I wouldnt go here again.
Absolutely best vietnamese place in Victoria!
Extraordinarily gentle, polite and attentive service, helps make the visit rewarding. The portions of well prepared food are more than ample. There is a wide enough choice to suit almost any taste. The decor and atmosphere are a bit worn out. Note the mid-afternoon break-in hours, they close for a short while.
We had the spicy beef soup (spicy beef pho) and moms special (dry noodle dish). Both were so flavourful. Very delicious. The lemongrass flavour is what really kicks it up a notch. Were from Vancouver, and we have great Vietnamese restaurants. This place is as good, if not better, than places back home. Thats a huge compliment! Congrats Victoria, you have a winner!
Super wonderful place, a gem. Clearly community owned and should be supported. The food is wonderful and very authentic.
Awesome as always
this is easily my fav pho spot in town. kim and family are excellent
Casual Vietnamese noodle shop with fresh & tasty food. Great for families with young children. My grilled chicken noodle bowl was super satisfying, with lots of crunchy-fresh veggies, al dente noodles, crispy grilled chicken, and savory spring rolls. Service was quick, yet I never felt hurried while dining.
Our waitress was wonderful! Food was delicious!
server was very nice and friendly. it was just herself and she was really on it. food took quite awhile though. i think we waited about 20, maybe 30 minutes for our appetizer (meat skewers) and another 15 for our mains. food itself was good. vermicelli bowl was great, really good ratios of protein to noodles and vegetables. loved that it came with peanuts, and the fish sauce was not too salty, more on thw sweet side. meat skewers were awesome, super hot, well seasoned and juicy. got the chef special noodle soup and it was loaded with meat. the pho noodles werent overcooked like a lot of other places weve gone to. broth itself was good, heavy on spices. personally thought it couldve had more meat flavour. i would come back just for the vermicelli bowl! a little bummed that it took awhile for the food to come out but otherwise everything was good. definitely feels like a small family run business thats doing well in the community!
High quality ingredients. Masterfully prepared and presented. Friendly service and great ambiance. Everytime. Recommended dishes Spicy Beef Noodle Soup
Delicious pho! We packed our leftovers to go and the pho was just as tasty reheated the next day.
The restaurant is cozy and small, and the service was pretty decent, as the servers were accommodating, providing warm water and sauces upon request in a timely manner. The Pho was delicious, I got the chef special and it was just so good. The broth was full of flavour and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I would definitely come again if I am in Victoria again. Also a tip, they dont have tap on their machines, so make sure you have you debit or credit card on you or have cash. And if there is more than 2 ppl, probably call ahead for a reservation.
Super good.
A very good experience. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. The service was good and professional. The food was delicious, and healthy. The prices were fair. I would recommend if you are looking for more high end place to eat Vietnamese food.
Best Vietnamese food in Victoria!
The taste of broth that has been simmered for an extended period of time is unparalleled. Visit Authentic Victoria restaurant to experience it for yourself!
Excellent food, huge portions, friendly service, cozy ambience makes a perfect meal. Thank you so much, I will be back!
This little restaurant is a gem. Great food - indescribably so. The Pho is an orgasm for the tongue. Best Ive had in years. Kim and her mom own the place. She is friendly, informative and has a great personality. So does her mom. Out of the way, and Petite Saigon is busy - especially on weekends. That tells you something about this restaurant. One tip for Thursday through Saturday; best to go to their website and book ahead. that way youre assured a seat. Dont miss this experience for the palate.
Great service, food a bit Basic. I had a vermicelli bowl with roasted meat. Very bland, needed quite a bit of hot sauce.
A little hidden gem, the service is outstanding, you feel like a family friend. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy especially on a cold night. I always get the spring roll or salad roll to start and a spicy beef and meatball pho as my main. The food quality is consistent and theres always leftovers that are just as delicious reheated the next day. Highly recommend!
I ve travelled to Vietnam for pho cause I love it so much and this pho is one of the best I ve ever had! The broth is next level, unbelievably flavourful. I phocking love this place and I will definitely be recommending it to people and becoming a frequent customer. 10/10!
Best PHO in town! And there are lots in town. Broth is hearty and the meat is hand sliced. The quantity is also generous. This place opens limited hours during the week so plan accordingly. For pho, it is not enough time to eat on a lunch break for it gets quite busy. Take out is just as good for they pack noodles , meat, soup in individual containers.
I tried the spicy beef pho, super delicious!! Staff is friendly engaging and helpful. If youre looking for the best pho in Vic, you have found it! 10/10
My fiancée and I enjoyed our dishes at the time, however unfortunately my fiancée received severe food poisoning from the seafood hotpot dish. He was puking on the toilet for over two hours and left feeling extremely nauseous for the night. I do not usually complain about my food, however it is unacceptable to charge $42 and leave feeling extremely sick. Very disappointed and I will call if I don t receive an email soon.
A hidden gem! All the food we got was absolutely delicious, we will be back! It closes pretty early so just keep that in mind.
Delicious quick meals
TLDR: FALSE PRICES AND TERRIBLE SERVICE. PLEASE READ. I came here in a group of 7 a few days ago at around 6:40. One of the waitresses warned us that our food would likely not come out all at the same time which was fine with us. We ordered and then we waited. A very long time passed and so I went up to another waitress with red hair and when I asked for an ETA, she immediately gave me attitude, saying that they were trying the best they could and that we ordered all at once so it would take a while. All I did was ask very nicely when our food would come.. 10 minutes went by and we had a ferry to catch so we asked to have our food packed to go. The waitress brings out the red haired lady again who gives me major attitude again by saying Look, you guys all came in a group of 7 and we are short staffed. Were seriously trying our best. I understand when a restaurant is short staffed.. Im a server myself. However, it is not our fault that you guys are short staffed and it is certainly no excuse to treat us poorly because youre frustrated. We were waiting nearly an HOUR for our food to come. And I asked nicely. This was not all. We went up to pay and I paid for 1 spicy beef and meatball pho and 1 prawn curry. The QR menus we were given are the white menus below. However, when I paid for my portion, I realized that they charged us a couple dollars more per item so I went to the website and lo and behold, their menu with updated prices is there (orange menu). I realized this after I paid and we just didnt have the time to make a scene so we left it. But this is extremely wrong. You CANNOT show your customers past prices and charge updated prices. I cant even believe that this restaurant did that. The owner absolutely needs to do something about this. The food was not bad. The pho was pretty oily and kinda sweet? But it tasted fine. The prawn curry smelled great but the flavor was a bit flat and also sweet. My main issue with the takeout though is the fact that they didnt use wide containers for the pho and instead used skinnier cylindrical containers which makes it really hard to eat. I tried my friends spring rolls and those were amazing. Overall though I was so disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. You need to hire more people so that people dont wait forever for their food and you also need to hire people with a better attitude. That red haired waitress seriously needs to learn to chill out and not assume that customers are attacking her whenever we ask for an ETA for the food. And lastly + most importantly, UPDATE YOUR QR CODE MENUS. Safe to say Im never coming back here again. Hope the owner sees this review.
Great little place for excellent Vietnamese food.
The staff are gems, the food is incredible. They have vegan dishes that are so tasty Ive come back three times in a week for them.
What a wonderful find! We were in Victoria for a little getaway and found this place. My hubby is super picky about his pho and he can t stop talking about how great the spicy beef pho was. We also ordered the pork and prawn soup (great broth, lots of veggies and meat) and the Mom s special (amazing layering of flavors, can t get this dish at too many places, and love that this came with a whole mandarin on the side). Would come back the next time we re in Victoria!
Amazing flavor, generous portions and absolutely fresh. Try the Vietnamese coffee, its next level.
Great food. The spicy beef Pho is to die for. Our favourite Vietnamese place in town by far!
Delicious food, great staff, highly recommended!
Very attentive staff and clean establishment upstairs. Food came out quickly and very hot. Great flavours and good portions. Tried the mild seafood hotpot (could have done medium easily - mild had a hint of spice) The fried rice had a unique flavour profile with lots extras (not just a pile of rice with a few veggies and meat hiding within). The Vietnamese coffee was great but comes with a paper straw (totally forgot my metal straws!) Prices are decent as you get a good amount of food ($15 or less a dish). Basement, where bathrooms are located, is a bit damp smelling and bathrooms, while clean, werent what I would have expected. Since there are quite a few staora, not great for anyone with mobility issues.
Great pho with good portions and good pricing in a cozy restaurant. Excellent service from Kim!
Hands down the best Pho in Canada. Kim and her Mother make real pho with love and it shows in the quality of the food. It is a must try!
If ever you should not judge a book by its cover this is it. The food and service is off the chart, if you have not been absolutely go there
Some of the best Vietnamese food I ve ever had, the portions were big and the food/soup was so flavorful. Meat was cooked well and not dry or overcooked. We got the spicy beef noodle soup, chicken pho, Saigon fried rice, and the spring roll/meat skewer vermicelli.
Food was excellent. 4 star for the long wait when there was only 3 tables waiting for food. I guess if they had extra help in the kitchen it wouldve been 5 star for me. Would come back again
Had the pleasure of stopping in at this off the beaten path gem. Amazing chicken curry and the best Pho I have ever had. Also had great conversation with redheaded Kim which was as good as the meal. Highly recommend.
This place smacks. Best Pho, spring rolls hit different, yellow chicken curry leaves me day dreaming.
Visiting from Calgary, and I have never had spicy pho this good! Normally I would have the satay and hoisin sauce on the side, but with the spicy pho, I didnt need to add anything except the bean sprout. SO GOOD!
Friendly service and AMAZING food
This was literally the best meal I can say I ve had in over a year in Victoria. My partner and I both fell in love. Top 5 meals I ve had in my life easily. Just wow as someone who loves food and trying new restaurants I had never been here and have no affiliation to the place and can honestly say this meal was truly outstanding (garden curry and Mom s special ginger beef). See you again very soon!
Delicious Vietnamese food in downtown Victoria! Great service & cute little restaurant. Our meals were amazing! Recommend The Number Three . 10/10!
A delight! I highly recommend! Authentic cuisine, generous portion and reasonable price. Ill go back there as soon as I get the chance! Still dreaming about the Hot & Sour soup
Ate there last night and was encouraged to see others dining there. I ordered the lemongrass tofu pho and my fiancé had the spicy beef meatball pho. Normally in the states youll get some sauces to dial in the spice or sweetness to your preference. Not here. In fact, I am not sure salt was even added to mine yet it tasted subtly sweet; just think of a lightly flavored water with some tofu. My fiancés soup was an oil slick protecting the underseasoned broth from reaching your spoon. Meatballs tasted old, sinuey, and gamey. There was a woman standing in the doorway to the kitchen the entire time on her phone presumably writing perfect reviews to this restaurant. 1 star given simply for the attractive server.
Limited options but the pho is really good. The pho has a bit of a sweet taste that we couldnt figure out what was making it so sweet. We enjoyed it regardless.
The food was amazing. Great service as well.
Delious and delectable. Yum. Get the curry.
My colleague and I chose it as an alternate because our first choice was too busy. Im glad the first spot was packed - this place is a gem. I ordered the cool noodle salad with pork and shrimp: superb. My colleague ended up returning at least once during our stay in Victoria, and I would have returned if I had the chance. Ill be back!
Best place for spicy pho in vic! Love the staff and all menu items but spicy pho is definitely our favourite!
The best Pho I ve had in Vic. Spicy beef noodle and the Mom s Special is beyond amazing. Never had a bad meal here.
Tasty food! Very good service too!
My favorite pho!
Probably the best Vietnamese in town, not sure why its never busy. Must be because its kind of tucked away on side street. A must go to have delicious and authentic Vietnamese food!
1st time there, every other time I want to try the place it was packed. Day or night. The server said Tuesday is the slower day though there was a steady flow while there. Definitely will be back and bring friends. Highly recommend even after 1st time there.
I live remote and have not had Pho for years. In town for one night with a huge craving, found this place and decided to try it. The Pho was amazing, it s all about the broth for me and it was delish, soul warming just perfect. You need to go there tonight!
Good Food and atmosphere is very casual. Crew is very attentive and courteous.
I was worried about the seemingly small menu, but the quality of broth and service was excellent.
My absolute favorite place to eat in town, with the friendliest staff. Never disappoints.
Kim is awesome and the food is amazing! We alway go for the curry chicken dish
Delicious! Kim is the best!
Hands down the best pho in the city!!! Best Ive ever had!!!
This was my first time trying Vietnames and I m in love. The flavours were exceptional. My new fav place.
Thanks for dinner tonight. It was delicious! Chat soon honey ;)
The BEST pho around. Quality meat, delicious broth, all around amazing.
Super delicious! The spicy beef and meatball soup pho bowl is a must - it isn t too spicy but very aromatic and flavourful! Portions are quite generous, and the fresh ingredients are of good quality. Friendly service and relaxed restaurant environment too. Can t wait to come back and try the other options on the menu!
Just love their food!! Kim our server is such a doll! Thank you so much for the wonderful food and service! Your quality is outstanding!!!
I had the Spring roll and grilled lemon grass pork. The pork seemed a little tuff cant say I tasted lemon grass. Enjoyed the meal over all and the service was good. I want to return and try other dishes.
Amazing! Great atmosphere, calm and cozy. Such good food for such good prices. Friendly and attentive service, and properly social distanced.
Best soup in town. Very friendly staff.
My friends and I have liked this place for many years, the staff are fun and great. Always great service and atmosphere while dining in, the same lovely service while ordering their delivery! Thank you for your delicious food and great portions Le Petit Saigon
The best spicy beef pho Ive ever had!
It s definitely a hidden gem. People in Victoria must visit this place! We had spring roll, beef noodle and Vietnamese crepe. All of them were so great and I recommend.
The food here is very hearty. We had papaya salad, Mom s special and Pho chef s special. Papaya salad was very well made in terms of texture, flavor and ingredients. Mom s special is a must. Very aromatic beef stir with very well done rice. Pho chef s special is bit much in terms of portion. We also had lychee basil Morito, great accent in the summer.
Absolutely the best Vietnamese food in Victoria!
Best pho in the country no competition. Spicy beef soup cannot be missed.
Generous portions and quick service. The spring rolls are massive! The atmosphere is pretty slap-dash -- definitely more of a lunch joint than a nice place for dinner.
By far the best pho in the city!! Absolutely no questions asked!! No need to search through anymore reviews.. just eat here, you will not be disappointed
Delicious authentic Vietnamese eats. I had the saigon fried rice and they were so flavorful and cooked perfectly. Great service from the waitress and absolutely great prices. A little remodeling would change the look of this restaurant and make it top notch. Other than that, check this joint out for some tasty food. Loved it
Nicest staff ever, big portions of delicious pho. My favorite place in Victoria
Amazing service - food was very authentic and flavourful. Best vietnamese food I have ever had. Highly recommend- reasonably priced and excellent value. Will definitely return asap!
Very good food. Rich of flavours and fresh food.
Great spring rolls and friendly staff.
Every other pho place in Victoria is trash compared to this place
Best curry in bc
Came in last night. Food was so yummy! I had the Moms Special. Server lady was very nice, it was quite busy and she was working hard. Thank you very much:)
I love Le Petit Saigon. While everyone has their opinions on the best pho in town , I m of the opinion that this place is the absolute best in Victoria. The spicy beef bowl is my usual go to, packed with flavor, hot, cooked perfectly and always hits the spot. I could eat here everyday. The Owners and Staff are friendly, accommodating, welcoming and very efficient. The restaurant is clean, simple and inviting and you never wait too long for your food. However, if there s a wait to eat here, WAIT. It s worth it.
Really welcoming and relaxing place. One of the bests in Victoria for pho.
Lunch at Le Petit Saigon was delicious. Asia our server was welcoming, efficient and friendly. Food was flavorful and one of the best tasting outside of Vietnam that we have ever had. Will definitely return and highly recommend to all.
This place has the best Vietnamese food Ive ever had. Awesome vegan options. The garden curry and the lemongrass tofu and amazing
Excellent Soup! One of the best Vietnamese places Ive been to.
The pho was so delicious. The broth was clear. Great value for the area it was in. There was so much meat in the soup as well. Highly recommended!
Great food with excellent service.
The food here is delicious, authentic and affordable. The service is friendly and the food comes quickly.
The Bun Bo Hue is great! Kim (I think I heard her say) served us and was very welcoming, funny and made good conversation.
Awesome Pho, great server, good prices.
Absolutely Amazing. I regularly visit for 2 salad wraps (1 garlic 1 shrimp) or the spicey beef and meatball noodle soup. It can get a bit chilly so bring a sweater, and best to avoid the noon rush if possible.
A sweet little hidden gem tucked in near the tourist district. Love the ambiance for dining-in here; it seems to always be so quiet and calm, regardless of how full it is! It is a family-owned & operated joint, and the staff are all great. The menu is chock-a-block full of bangers, especially on the broth-based stuff, but the real star above all... the Viet-style spring rolls, just incredible. Best Vietnamese in town.
Had the Spicy Meatball and Chefs Special soup. Definitely the best broth Ive had they have so much flavor!! Service was amazing and very friendly
A W E S O M E Always so fresh and so so tasty. If you have not been to Le Petit Saigon you are missing out.
Vietnamese food with amazing flavour. Moms beef stew is incredibly flavour packed and yummy. I also love the vermicelli noodle dish with the extra crunch spring roll. Cant go wrong here and owners daughter is a great server and made me laugh so much with her stories.
The best Pho Ive had in a very long time, absolutely delicious.
Really nice family owned business with delicious food.. Highly recommended!
Best Pho in the city! Great service too
The food is very good and the wait staff is capable & friendly. Great soup!
So far I have had the Bun Bo Hue and Pho, both house special because everything is delicious. The broth has a wonderful flavour that I cant get enough of, and even though I want to try more of the menu, its going to be hard to not just order these two again and again.
Their food is amazing and I just love the ambience. My wife and I are fans
Great atmosphere, super friendly, great prices and selection. The food was delicious and I will definitely be back!
Best pho in town
REALLY F#%KING AMAZING!!!!!! BEST PHO IN TOWN! THE HIDDEN GEM
My girlfriend and I showed up late, like at 2:05pm and the place closes at 2:15. Instead of turning us away, we were seated and served with a smile. (Trust me I still feel guilty). The guilt is offset, however, by the amount that I enjoyed the soup. If youre from Alberta and youve moved to Victoria like I did, youre probably searching far and wide for Sate soup. Well, Le Petit Saigon has Sate soup (Spicy beef soup) but you can ask for the spicy broth with any of the soups they have listed. Its really really good, authentic, spicy sate Vietnamese soup and Ill be coming back here over and over again for it. If youve never had Vietnamese sate soup (Theres an official name and I dont know it) try it, you wont be disappointed. Great freakin meal.
I love the food, and the staff. One of my recurring choices!
Everything was pretty good except for the broth. They put sugar in the broth. Not very good. And broth is everything for pho.
Been twice now. Great both times. Family run. Best service yet. Will be back for sure. Closes a bit early, even by Victoria standards. So hustle down if your evening starts with a visit to a local beer tasting room before dinner.
The best Vietnamese in Victoria, hands down! I ve never had something here that felt even remotely near mediocre - it s all incredible
Simple and simply delightful Great food and very reasonably priced.
