We re regulars here because the people are nice and the food is amazing. The five spice squid and caramel fish are my absolute favourites. Parking: There is lots of street parking and a few spots around the back of the restaurant.

This place is definitely a must go! The owners are so kind. Everytime I visit Victoria I have to come here and get my Singapore noodles! So delicious! One of my friends has extreme dietary restrictions and they always go above and beyond for her. Highly reccomend!!! Dietary restrictions: Dairy and gluten free Kid-friendliness: We brought 7 kids in and they were very helpful and accommodating!

This place was good! Theyre very good for gluten free restrictions as well, and even offer gluten free spring rolls that are made in a gluten free fryer if you ask! I think the only place in Victoria that does that. The food otherwise was pretty good, not the best. Would have been nice to have either. I like the place. Parking at the back, food was spicy and delicious. The only thing is the English situation, we asked for 1 soup and he brought 2. Its ok, we ate then. He gave us some ice cream dessert for free and that was nice from his part. Good food, clean place, recommended.

We ordered Pho takeout and all four of us agreed that it was really bad. Probably the worst Pho I ve ever tasted. Meat was overcooked, tasting like rubber. Broth I cant even put into words what is wrong with it - overspiced, undersalted and bitter? Most of it went to garbage

Had the pork vermicelli. Our table also has Pad Thai and won ton soup. Really excellent food. I dont understand why its not a busier place.

Fantastic little spot in Esquimalt. Will be my go to place for a variety of Asian cuisines. Menu has a wide assortment of flavorful dishes, and service was excellent. Very cozy and cheerful atmosphere inside.

Small cafe with sometimes interesting paintings on the walls, that you can buy. The food was not bad. I take away one star because i prefer more cozy spaces with more room between the tables, but its ok, a guess.

Sweet and sour sauce is a near perfect replica of my fathers special recipe. He passed several years ago so I cant thank you enough for this beautiful dish! He always said that done right, Sweet &Sour should make you sweat just a bit My grandfather, his father, knew that good food how to celebrate friends and family. When I visit this humble family shop, the same reverent love exists here. I, and my family will return often.

Most unique Vietnamese restaurant I have ever been to. The art, the food, the service, all perfect. I have never once had to wait more than a reasonable amount of time, and the staff always make me feel welcome. I hope this business lasts forever.

Tried their dinner combo and it was so worth it. Came with soup, spring rolls, curry and rice. And they do have have good vegetarian/vegan option.

The best find so far in my neighbourhood. Just a delicious delight. One night I had the shrimp & vegetable special & it was so generous in the shrimp portion that I wondered if I had asked for double or triple shrimp, I was so surprised & overwhelmed by the portion of this dish! Last night I ordered vegetables with cashews & they offer noodles or rice to accompany it but I asked for extra veg & mushrooms. These mushrooms were amazing & the sauce in the dish was super tasty! Im going to be a regular for sure! I order a beer while I wait for my to-do & its so nice. The cook owner is a Uber kind human & knows how to cook! Highly recommend this restaurant & cannot wait to return! See you there! Vegetarian options: Anything you want really, all veg, rice, noodles. Delish! Dietary restrictions: Just ask the cook to make something special or leave an ingredient out. They make your dish fresh, from scratch! Parking: Street parking & parking lot across the street. Lots!!! Our new favorite Vietnamese restaurant! The spring rolls were so crunchy and delicious. The wrap reminds me of the crispy bubbliness of Chinese pork belly skin. Amazing and delightful! My wife had the pho and she said the soup base was authentic and delicious. They also had durian bubble tea! I highly recommend this place if you crave Vietnamese food.

Excellent customer service and the owner was really nice, however the food was not good. I ordered pho and the broth was watery, the noodle was overcooked, and the various meat had an off-taste like its been sitting at room temperature for too long or been in the fridge for a week. Perhaps their other dishes are much better.

Highly recommend for authentic Vietnamese food. Great variety of great tasting dishes. Parking: Limited number of parking spots in this little strip mall. Kid-friendliness: Relatively small place with lots of take out, but few in persons dining. Very friendly staff.

The Chinese restaurant has Xinjiang chicken, which is enough for 2 people. The mutton soup is delicious. The shaved noodles are a bit bad, but the overall taste is okay. Thank you boss for the red bean pot helmet, it s delicious! There is parking space behind the restaurant. Parking lots is behind the restaurant. We didn t find it and parked at the liquor store and moved to the restaurant s parking late...

I was afraid at first but I must admit, This is the best Vietnamese food in Victoria.

A humble local place for delicious Vietnamese food. I had the chicken red curry, and it was delicious, balanced, and for great value. Also, service was super friendly. Ill be going back for more!

5-star restaurant! Beautiful presentation, delicious flavours and perfect textures. Very clean restaurant with friendly service and relaxing atmosphere. Our 2nd visit and, now, my new favorite eatery. I highly recommend the honey-garlic pork, crisp on the outside and juicy tender on the inside. Our dessert was deep fried banana with warm caramel coated ice cream and basil leaf is a magical blend of flavours. We will be back again! We love all the artwork too.

This is a wonderful family run Vietnamese restaurant decorated with family art - most the owner s son s art. The service is excellent and the menu is large and varied. The chalk board is definitely worth checking out too as those items change every now and then. Sizzling Fish is fabulous. Another of our favourites is the five spice squid, though the war won ton is one of the best I ve ever had. We usually order from the menu on the chalk board as theyre definitely the specialties.

Pho was not pho. Broth was pork broth. Sad.

Great customer service!! The food is spectacular, very tasty and generous portions Loved looking at all the art and finding out the story behind them. This is a great place to lunch or dinner and you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend.

I dined here a few years ago and couldnt remember why I didnt go back, so I tried it again recently. I really wanted to like this place, but I dont think I can recommend it. My spouse and I found it disappointing overall. Positives: -The owner/family seem friendly. There is artwork by the owners son up all over the walls. Cute home-y vibe. -Huge family-style portions* Negatives: -*The huge portions are ~75% vegetables... -Big chunks of celery in everything -The lemongrass chicken is actually just chicken stirfry. They didnt even grill it. This is not the standard lemongrass chicken youll receive at any other Vietnamese restaurant... -This is a big one: take photos of the actual food for your website! The coconut prawns we got were nothing like the ones in the menu image. Yes, it says photo for reference only, but this is absurd. In the menu image, the coconut prawns are crispy and covered in some sort of panko or batter. The ones we got were not battered at all--actually quite soggy. tl;dr --> nice folks, but the food just doesnt hold up

The best Vietnamese food in Victoria! Authentic and fresh, the portions were so delicious and large. The restaurant is locally owned and family run, the food tastes like it s been made with love! The owner is kind and catering, and the walls are filled with beautiful art by his family. It doesn t get better than this. I would definitely drive across town for this takeout

This restaurant deserves more than a five star! The food was beyond amazing and the service was flawless! We went in for dinner quite late, right before they closed and the owner, Ken, was very patient and accommodating. We will definitely be going back when we visit Victoria again!

So good! I had the beef brisket noodle soup and the shrimp salad rolls. So so so good. Ken (the owner) is very accommodating. I also love how his son s artwork covers the walls. Great food, great vibes. Will definitely come back!

Siracha sauce was watered down and the soup broth was very mediocre. Very average.

This is one of the best places to eat in victoria, definitely a place to come and eat at. It has an amazing eating area with hand drawn paintings made by their family all over which are amazing to look at.

The menu at Vietnam Garden is delicious and varied, and the servings here are not skimpy. The walls being covered in drawings makes for interesting and memorable decoration!

The portions are huge! Which is nice cause u get 2 decent size meals outa the meal. The food is pretty tasty as well. The online menus prices are all wrong though.

Got take out and overall the food and portions were good. Unfortunately the wor wonton is terrible. Broth was way to salty to eat at all, had to add lots of water to it. Also the wonton filling is wrong somehow, I think they use too much watery veg in them and they were a really unpleasant mushy texture.

Hello, Very unique and tasty menu serve with old classic school. Customer comes FIRST. Meals delicious and variety always available. Helpfull service and very kind too. Not because of tips!!! Because this family really enjoy what they do and how they do. They have this restaurant not for money only but mostly to present own culture through their cousine. Always will recommend. This is not fancy restaurant but unique meals as I mention before but decoration colourfull as well. You should eat over their to experience yuorself. Im sure you will bring your friends and they will come back same as you. We need more places like this restaurant. Spirit of real life not corporation with franchise.

This was our first time there and we very much enjoyed ourselves. We ordered a bottle of red wine and the lovely gentleman came with 5 different bottles for us to choose from. They were friendly and helpful. I asked for a vegetarian recommendation and he suggested the stir fry veggies and cashews which was really good. After dinner they gave us a couple cookies and strawberries. The people were just so wonderful, great service! We will be back for sure!

The Rare Beef Noodles Soup is delicious!The beef seems fresh and the soup isnt salty.

Ordered lemongrass chicken and beef vermicelli bowl. Both were way too salty, and the lemongrass chicken didnt have any lemongrass flavor.

Just a block away from home. Definitely eat there often. Favorites are, mild spicy cashew chicken and honey garlic pork. Great dine in specials. Consistently good and friendly service.

I want to support small local business and it s easy because I ve never been disappointed in the food here. Sizzling caramel fish is my favourite. Also love the big bowls of noodle soup. I d recommend in particular the spicy coconut curry and the chicken spring rolls which are crunchy and yummy and also the salad rolls with the best peanut sauce.

What a sweet little neighborhood place. My dad and I pigged put on caramel fish, kung pao chicken and a Singaporean noodle stir fry of sorts with bbq pork and shrimp off the chefs special board. Was all super yummy and Im definitely going back soon to try the soups and phos this time!!

The pho here was decent- the broth was flavorful and had a fresh, spiced taste to it, and the noodles were cooked well. However, the beef in our beef brisket pho was disappointing. It felt like an afterthought to what was a good base- tough, flavorless, unappetizing slabs of vaguely beef like substance.

We came in little late but they served us anyways and the food was really fast and very delicious with epic portion sizes at a super reasonable price! I like how everything seemed very fresh and homemade as well. Also loved all the artwork all over the walls done by the owner and his son, will definitely be back!

We have been coming here for the last 4 years. The owner is super friendly and remembers us, always greeting people with a big smile. Plenty of tasty dishes to choose from. I recommend their ever-changing chef specials, and their dinner for two!

Fantastic food! The spring rolls are crispy with a sweet dipping sauce, crispy pork, flavourful beef with a salad with just a hint of cilantro. This place has a wonderful menu with ever changing specials. The staff is friendly. Im fairly certain that this is a family business, as their boy was in there on several occasions doing his homework or playing on a tablet. If youve never had Vietnamese coffee, here is your opportunity.

I learned about this place after I moved to Esquimalt and I went to find a restaurant called The Lighthouse, which was a wonderful experience several years ago. The original restaurant -also top-of-the-line- was gone and displaced by this one we had no experience of; however, it had truly outstanding culinary reviews from a wide variety of Victoria papers & magazines. Its best described as high-end Vietnamese with French cuisine upgrades, as well as Miracles created by the chef-owner. So do yourself a flavour-saver and Discover it ASAP!

Have looked at the website Twice for open hours and drove in from langford. Arrived both times and it was closed. Hours on website are NOT the operating hours. 2 trips in for soup we were craving, only for it to be closed. Other people were walking up, discovering it was closed as well. Really need to update the hours on Google.

Last Saturday I had a delicious meal consisting of curry chicken soup to start followed by Caramel fish, house special fried rice and salt and pepper squid. I made sure that I ordered lots so that I could take a lot home and it was just as good the next night at home.

The spring rolls were super crispy and tasty amd I would definitely get them again. Unfortunately the lemon grass prawn soup was disappointing as it tasted watered down and therefore not much flavour and there was a lack of vegetables just mainly a few prawns, beam sprouts and noodles

The entire experience was great. 5 spice squid was awesome. Portions are really generous so its nice to go with a group and share plates. Oh and deep fried bananas. They have deep fried bananas.

We both had the specials. Their menu is bigger than it looks. The chicken shrimp Shanghai noodle with peanut sauce was delicious. The chicken was marinated, which make it feel a bit fake but still tasty. The shrimp was perfect. The Ginger beef and veg was perfect. It came with a surprise bowl of rice, which was nice to mix in the sauce. The beef was perfectly deep fried and the veg was crispy and easy to eat. It was all very hot. The hostess was pleasant and the music was subtle. Highly recommended.

Good, quick meal. I had the chicken vermicelli and thought it easily held up to the quality of most restaurants in Victoria, for a fair price. It is a small restaurant with limited seating, but there is a small parking lot behind the building which makes it an easy stop for quick lunch during a work week. The entrance to the lot is to the right of the front door.

Had such a wonderful dinner of crispy and tangy ginger beef and the Shanghai noodles with peanut sauce was the perfect blend of sweet and spice. They were wonderful and welcoming to our 2 year old and even offered her ice cream which she devoured! I cant wait to go back!

I have no idea how this establishment is four stars. The miso veggie pho tastes like water with noodles, there is one vegetable and no lime or cilantro served with it. Overall very disappointing.

We were a party of three who wanted to get away from the more crowded pubs and visit with one another. GREAT food. Fresh, tasty, more than reasonably priced AND enough for breakfast the next day. It was SO good. In fact, well be back in town this coming Monday (December 20, 2016) and will be taking a local pair who will be adding this one to their favourite (Gabys loses by being closed Mondays.. yeah, its winter .. BRRRRR from P.A.)
