Some of the best pizza in town. The only downside is the inconsistent hours. It says it is open until 3am but often closes around or before midnight.

Top dog s garlic fingers and donair sauce are the real thing. Haven t had the donairs yet but with their donair sauce being as good as it is, I m sure the donairs are great too. Thanks Top Dog!

Garlic fingers with ranch dip were pretty great. My partner is from Halifax and he has been dying to find an east coast style donair since moving from there 15 years ago. I saw this place was supposedly authentic for Halifax style donair, so we tried it out when we were in the area. He absolutely loved it and I swear I almost saw a tear come from his eye because he was so happy to finally have a pretty close Halifax donair. For me, I found it to be quite messy and the sauce was too sweet for my personal taste. But other than that, it tasted good. I d try a west coast donair next time, but I m sure my partner would go for the east coast style again. Thanks for bringing a bit of the east coast out west!

Honestly we came here last week to get some donair shop poutine. The fries are always great at donair shops we find. Only we discovered that they dont even serve fries here which was horribly disappointing. While we were looking at the menu to find sonething else, the guy behind the counter was abrupt and rude. Also tapped his pen the entire time as if he was impatient for us to order or leave. We left without purchasing anything due to his behaviour. Wont be back for sure.

Friendly staff and delicious food

Top Dog Pizza is excellent. I was a Panago girl until I discovered Top Dog. I use my own Lighthouse dressings for a dip. The regular crust is the perfect combination of crisp, chewy and a bit buttery. The quality is excellent and if you like chicken on pizza, you won t be disappointed. It is real chicken.

There was a little blip in quality with new staff arriving late 2023 but the last few pizzas have been spectacular. Top Dog lives up to its name and is the most affordable best pie in town. Keep up the good work!

Ordered 2 Med Canadian Pizzas and to be honest it was a let down. Requested well done, the bottom was super soggy. I love pizza and rarely if ever dont like it. This was not tasty at all.

These guys make good pizza. They have many choices to choose from, their ingredients are high quality. An example is their beacon. Its not thin and weak, its thick-cut and tastes like good-quality bacon. Their walk in special gets you a large pizza with 3 drinks for about 18 bucks. Not bad! Give them a try!

As my 52nd birthday was occurring this Friday and I had not had a donair for over 20 years, I decided to try Top Dog. NEVER AGAIN. A lovely lady took my order but she had issues understanding English and asked that I spell my address which I kindly did. She told me the order would take an hour to an hour and a half. OVER 2 hours later I called back. The owner insisted they had attempted delivery and that I was not home. I said yes indeed I was. Then he said the address which was nowhere near what I had spelled out to the lady. I said yes there were issues trying to get the information clearly to his staff as English was not her first language, but I thought everything was clear via the spelling. Both my parents had many languages BEFORE learning English and I have zero issue and a lot of patience. I was then told very loudly with NO listening that I cannot point that out despite the fact that the language barrier was WHY the address was incorrect. He said I am showing my bias. There was no bias. There was a language barrier that I thought I had overcome by spelling the address. An issue with any employee anywhere does not become unmentionable if we have different races or backgrounds.This is ridiculous. He screamed at me wouldnt listen to me while making it clear that I am racist. Shame on you. Horrible inappropriate service. It is of paramount issue that a person taking orders over the phone can converse in the language being used. Train her. Help her. Dont cry racist to the customer. Shame on you.

It doesnt take a genius to figure out that the donair beef has been precooked and frozen, then reheated causing it to taste dry and not worth paying for. Gordon ramsay would have this place shut down. Please bring back the old owners...

I have eaten here a few times now and I am glad to say that the pizzas here are great I would highly recommend the crust is great and they put just the right amount of toppings.

Best pizza in Vic, hands down. There are so many different options to choose from! I recommend opting for pick up, as delivery times are quite long, but its a busy place, so I cant blame them! Donairs are quality as well!

We ordered both donairs last night. The West and East coast. Both absolutely delicious! I couldn t choose my favorite between the two. Both were really good. Also ordered Buffalo wings and those were also a hit. My first time having Top Dog and I was impressed. Well priced, friendly people and great food!!!

Cheese tastes like chewing gum, ordered a pepperoni pizza and the pepperoni looks not like what I am used to. Sometimes really thick pepperoni slices that do not taste good as well. Staff was friendly.

The place is just sad. I saw decent reviews so stopped by for lunch. They only had two old slices of pizza available. The place seemed dirty and not taken care of. Nothing on the walls, no display of what they offer. The only menu they had was so stained and groS I didn t even want to touch it . Lost my appetite

Ordered their churros through door dash tonight. Bit into one and immediately spat it out because it tasted so strongly of mold even through the cream cheese dip. Looked at it in the light and sure enough it was MOLDY!

I stop by once a week for their great deal on two slices and a drink, but weve also started ordering proper large pizzas for when we have family over for dinner. Their menu takes a delicious spin on a few favourites, their toppings outweigh their dough, and the crusts are the kinds of crusts you dont mind as a last bite. Side note, the Friday team, Tarin and Harmeet greet me as a friendly face any time I am there, and are part of what makes this place so fantastic. They make darn good pizza!

Not great service, green peppers were blackened beyond belief. Partners no-cheese pizza was covered in cheese (dairy allergy). We were promised a remake on both and upon calling back the next day only the no-cheese was to be a remake, but not the black pepper bandit (my name, not an actual pizza).

We have been ordering through Skip and We always order the same pizzas (cheese and a cheeseburger) and additional wings (most times) and we are never disappointed!!! We love it here. Our favourites are their garlic sticks, lasagna, and cinnamon buns. Their pizza is amazing too!! Very filling and they dont cheap out on anything.

Poor customer service, seemed like they couldnt wait to hang up. I asked for dipping sauce, they said they had dip but there was none to be seen anywhere. Terribly overpriced for what theyre offering.

I love their Donaires but last night was really disappointing... I ordered 2 Donaires last night one with extra meat and sauce on the side. After waiting about 2 hours for the order it finally arrived. What was received was 2 Donaires one without extra meat and all sauce on the side which means there was no sweet sauce at all on the thing. The sweet sauce that was on the side looked old as well as it was oliy.

Coming from our hometown where there are multiple places for a good donair, when we moved to Victoria we were sad because we couldn t find a solid spot. UNTIL I researched hard and found Top Dog. Top notch donairs every time. My partner gets the east coast and I get the west coast. Both are so so delicious and we will continue to order from here each time we have a donair craving. Hands down, the best donair I have ever had. Stumbled across Top Dog on Google Maps and thought the site looked promising and was not disappointed. If their pizza is as good as their donair (and well be finding out soon) I foresee a long leisurely stroll through their menu. Open for lunch, dinner, and until 3 am.

Im vegetarian and they make my favorite pizza in the area by far. The dough is always cooked well with tons of toppings/styles to choose from. My favorite is the pesto veggie, the zucchini and balsamic glaze really set it off for me. If I had one wish for this place Id ask for a dough with some whole wheat flour, easier on the tummy. I moved away from their delivery zone (Esquimalt to Vic) and miss this place a lot. Ill probably start driving over for pickup occasionally.

Best vegan pizza in town! Many vegan pizzas with vegan cheese and meat alternatives. The regular crust is fluffy and their gluten free crust is the best gluten free crust I ve had, it s soft compared to others. The staff are always friendly too.

Great service, like their marinara sauce, fresh ingredients, not greasy pizza, Found price iof their pizza a little high for what you get, I also prefer when meat and vegetables are under the cheese so that prevents meat and vegetables to dry out during the cooking. Ive spent the better part of the last two decades searching BC for a pizza experience which is on par with the pizza I grew up eating (and making) during my youth in southern Ontario. In fact, Ive made a habit of trying different style pizzas while traveling the world. There are infinite pizza styles with origins going back further than the human written record, I have tried many. My friends and family would describe me as a picky pizza eater, as I dont typically want to order pizza when they ordered from a pizza chain or the various BC pizza establishments Ive already tried. Theyve learned better than to ask me What is wrong with X pizza? or What kind of pizza do you like?. Dont get me wrong, I will eat it, and mostly enjoy it but it just isnt close to what I crave. I only write this long introduction as a qualifier, for my next statement: Top Dog Pizza & Donair is the BEST balance of pizza Ive had in years. The fine people that made this pizza take great care in making a pizza which is delicious in every way. The crust is the perfect amount of crispy, chewy, and doughy, without being greasy or tasting like chard flour. Its not thin and floppy nor is it a loaf of bread with cheese on top. You will want to eat every bite of the crust and will make you feel sorry for the gluten intolerant. The quality topping are generous without overloading the pizza and making it impossible to cook. I especially like the wide selection including two options for bacon. Everyone will have a sauce preference, mine changes depending on the toppings. Top Dog has you covered, with the classics and some Ive never tried before. The cheese is where it should be, on-top the sauce, under the toppings. This way the toppings are cooked and their flavors are combined instead of eating a topping cheese casserole. As a bonus, the really picky can pick off what they dont want. Id like to know where they get their mozzarella from, its stringy and has a creaminess to it. The next day when the pizza is cold, its not a hard mass, its a perfect breakfast you dont have to spend any time making. To think, I almost missed the opportunity to eat the pizza here. My wife had just given birth to our daughter at VGH and wanted something other than hospital food. Top Dog was really the only option that late, and I had dismissed any chance of a good pizza at that hour, so we ordered Donairs. Well the Donairs were so good (and huge, it took 2 days to eat them) I thought we should give the pizza a go. Almost forgot, when the bill had been totaled for our two large pizzas and drinks, I thought there had been a mistake or I had been magically transported back to the 1990s. Where else can you get any 2 pizza and drinks for two green ones and change? I hope I can convince them they should be opening an additional location in the town I live, Qualicum Beach.

Was told about this place by a coworker, who spoke very highly of it. Stopped by for lunch today, gotta say it absolutely lived up to the hype. The quality of the ingredients puts big chains like dominos to shame and theyre open till 3am!

When I called to inform them my large hawaiian pizza was undercooked instead of an apology I was given the answer that I was wrong and it was cooked to regular , he didnt seem to factor in that with a wet ingredient like pineapple it would need to be cooked longer. What could have been solved easily has now left a very poor taste with me . I have enjoyed their donairs in the past but could not recommend a pizza unless you like it soggy with a side of poor customer service .

Some of the yummiest pizza Ive had, and 2 delicious pizzas for $30? My only complaint would be I was unable to use Visa Debit to pay before my carrier arrived, but that is no slight on the great taste and value. Will be a new regular for my girlfriend and I.

Fantastic pizza and the donairs were very east coast,but a little on the dry side. Actually the old place (everyone knows where Im talking about)was always 3+ napkin but sooooo worth the mess. Top dog is a close 2nd but now #1 on town and earned it.

The donair pizza was easily the best pizza Ive ever had- crispy crust with a soft inside, ample cheese, & a plethora of deluxe toppings. They even have legit donair sauce, which I havent tasted since I was in Halifax. I felt genuine sadness as I helplessly shovelled the last remainder of pizza in my mouth, knowing my trip to Flavourtown was soon over. 10/10 will eat again.

4 star, read the whole review, basically because they are usually awesome and I forgot my mask. BUT. I got there at 6:53 after calling at 6:13 and being quoted 35 mins. So should have been ready at 6:48. I forgot my mask and told the person in there I was Colin and waiting for an order. The person who I talked to, must have been a skip the dishes employee, checked my order then said 5-6 mins. I said I was quoted 35min and it had been over 40. He left and I waited 10 mins. Went back in, well at least the door way (o forgot my mask. I m a muppet) and said I think my pizza is there in the warmer. It was sitting there 20 mins plus, and I had to ask them About it. I joked that I should get a discount got waiting got pizza that was already there. They laughed. But no. I ended with, you guys are awesome, but that wasn t awesome. Hopefully they reach out. But regardless, 4/5 star. They could have been better. But I could have worn my mask, stepped into the building, talk to a non-skip-the-dishes person and been more proactive. They are awesome. This experience wasn t.

Really Good pizza, ordered standard peperoni and hawaiian pizza. Was debating if I wanted dominos or this place and I am super glad I tried this place out! Only complaint I have is that the pizza slices are all over the place...... the pizza was cut into super awkward sizes, some super big pieces and then some super small pieces.... this is probably the only reason its not a 5 star

Overall great quality and taste. Ordered again last night and waited nearly 2 hours for delivery.. It would appear this business is suffering from staffing issues like everyone as there service is very slow.

I picked up four vegan pizzas for the family that the entire family greatly enjoyed. Absolute one of the best vegan pizza choices in all of Victoria. Highly recommend.

Best pizza Ive had in a long time! Crust was excellent, lots of toppings, and the garlic fingers and donair sauce reminded me of the east coast..yum!

Ordered 2 pizzas and a Donair . 75 min later arrived. They forgot the Donair. I called and they essentially didnt care at all. No apology at all they just said that the driver will come back. 25 min later we call again still no Donair and the driver went to another order first. Still waiting. Pretty poor customer service. Ill let you how the Donair is if we ever get it. Oh ya we live 6 min away

I ordered a pizza for pick up simple enough, when I entered the store no one was wearing their mask. Not the cashier, not the cook! Disgusting!!

The best donair pizza on the planet! They can be a bit slow to deliver but thats because theyre so good and everyone knows it.

Terrible service. It took 2 hours and 2 phone calls for 2 pizzas to be delivered. They offered us no discount for this ridiculous wait time and to top it all off I found and hair in it. I would never recommend this place even to someone i didnt like and I will never be ordering from them again. This place should be shut down!

Top Dog indeed! Ive been looking for an east-coast/Halifax style donair without any success, until trying Top Dog Pizza. Theyre easily the best donair Ive found in the area. Good meat, good donair/sweet sauce. The tzatziki is also good if youre more into that than the sweet sauce. Ive tried the donair pizza, and peroghy pizza as well, and loved both.

Top Dog Pizza & Donair. The name says it all. Can t beat it when you order bacon on your pizza and they load it up using FULL SLICES OF BACON. Mmmmmmmmm Bacon. I m an absolute fan of their Donairs. Better have an empty stomach and be extra hungry cuz their Bad off of a Donair is stacked so full of perfectly cooked Donair meat that it takes 2 hands to hold and good luck getting your mouth around the whole thing. For most this is a 2 meal Donair.
