Wow I haven t been to wimpys since the flood. But I thought I give the place a one last shot and I d have to say Im glad I did the Monday Man Kave they served was over the top perfect and the Double long iced tea did the job. . Strain the ice. Thank you H. G. Food

Wimpys Marina diner is subpar food with horrible service having young teenagers. Not really knowing how to wait tables.. The atmosphere and the music are over the top and a must-see. I truly recommend coming to one of their venues. Pack pack a picnic dinner. Food

Fun spot on the Delta....

2 stars because my daughter liked her burger but the chicken strips were completely unappealing and burnt and the fries tasted like old fryer oil for 15 dollars meal I expected better quality food.

Went there as a get together with friends and family. Fun place on the water with great service!

Last minute large group. Staff accommodated us easily and service was super responsive and the food was even better. Parking: We had an RV, two trucks pulling trailers and half dozen cars. Easily parked all at 10am on a Saturday

Boated over from the Walnut Grove Marina, for breakfast. Its one of the most beautiful pieces of property along the banks of the Mokelumne River. Try the breakfast burrito, its very tasty and well prepared.

Horrible food ordered sprite got it in a small shot glass. When I asked for a bigger glass they gave me a dirty glass food was mediocre at best tasted like frozen crap service was terrible. 100% would not reccomend do not go

We waited over an hour and never had our order taken. People Very disappointed! People that came in way after us had their order taken. Been coming there for 30yrs. We did get drinks in the bar no problem!

Another awful experience at what used to be our favorite place on the Delta. Bad service, food took 40 minutes with no one there, no alcohol for Mai tais. What a disappointment. Hearts hurt for the old Wimpys. Food : 1/5

I ordered the fish platter. The fish was burnt until it turned black. Theres absolutely no excuse that should of been made, The person that delivered the burnt black platter of fish said, its the type of oil we use. Fire the cook!!! The bar tender was outstanding.

Perfect meal at a Delta restaurant . Great staff and my friend had her first tuna melt. It was not a busy day so a very relaxed time.

Wasnt quite sure how to rate this experience. We got there, and the bartender decided she needed to cool off with a swim in the river, then when she came back from her dip. She started making drinks without drying off or even washing her hands while river water was dripping into the ice, straws, and drinkware like it was no big deal. I realize it was a hot day, but there are still health and safety laws/rules that should be maintained. And she could have easily dried off, washed her hands, and even walked into their walk-in cooler if she was that miserable. I hope nobody gets sick. We had our 1 drink and left. Luckily, she wasnt the one who made our drinks.

I try and stop by this place whenever Im in the area. Great place to watch cover bands in the summer months.

May be cooler to visit in summer...In winter it was just okay. Food was spendy for what it was. They completely forgot one of our orders, forgot the dressing, and we had to ask for both... The burger came out 30 minutes later, we had finished eating. They werent busy. We had to ask if they would discount, which I normally dont do but come on! $17 for a burger and you brought it after everyone else ate, AND we had to remind you it was forgotten. The chef came out to apologize, which was appreciated, but our server never did say sorry. I rarely complain but when its this bad, you deserve to hear some constructive criticism. The waitress only returned to the table to give us our check. The discount didnt meet expectations but we accepted it... we just wont be back.

The gravy is delicious and the chicken fried steak is very good as well. I live in the area and there isnt much around for restaurants. I am glad they are close by. I have not had bad service in the 4 or 5 times I have been there in the past few weeks.

Recently went through a flood. But the bar and restaurant are higher so go support.

The hamburgers were really greasy. And very expensive.

I ordered fish and chips. what I was served was 3 fish nuggets seriously, which was the size of a chicken mc nugget. Husband and his friend ordered the same burger. Both had different buns? I did notice a sign saying under new management. Hopefully, they intend to change the problems.

Eclectic boat marina type restaurant. They were shorthanded and very busy. Food was good.

Great motorcycle ride out of town. The place has a personality that makes me feel comfortable. Understand where you are. Ive never had a bad experience. If youre looking for a Michelin rating, youre barking up the wrong tree. If youre looking for a cool dive with decent grub, cold beer, and a laid back atmosphere, this place checks those boxes. I would like to see a good IPA on tap like 420. Im happy tots are back.

The food was good, though my eggs we not cooked enough. The waitress was new but she did ok. I hadnt been to this place in probably 20 years and wanted to try it again. We will probably go back. They do charge extra if you use a card instead of cash.

I was there today at noon. Not very busy & we sat by the window overlooking the Delta. We shared a delicious burger, fries & an amazing salad. The waitress was super nice & will go back soon!!

Kitchen was overwhelmed, and took forever. Fry oil was old, food was overcooked.

Burger was bland and fries were burnt and cooked in old oil.

Great comfort food, good music, excellent service and a fun indoor or outdor atmosphere overlooking the river.

Nice place to grab a beer and a burger Cool atmosphere nothing like being on the Delta while having a cool drink.

Fries were almost black. Reordered and they were the same. Oil in the fryer really needs to be changed. French dip was poor at best. Crispy chunks instead of sliced beef.

This is a very unique place off the beaten path right on the river. They have occasional live music its a pretty cool place

We Love Whimpys

I don t come here to eat. I come here to fish. Eating s for losers, fishing is for winners. Just kidding, I ve eaten here. Best on Monday nights! They have a pirate ship and play live music. I can hear them when I m fishing and catching monster sturgeon and striper right behind the trailer park! Whohooo two trailer park girls go round the outside!

Great place to stop and see a show or relax after riding or boating. Friendly staff and patrons. Awesome outdoor stage and area to enjoy live music.

A great small town diner on the river! We kayaked in from the Cosumnes River Preserve just in time for a satisfying lunch. The Wimpy burger was a favorite and the tater tots were extra crispy. The atmosphere is casual and the waitress was attentive and kind.

Best Bar/Diner on the Delta

I love everything about Wimpys Cafe and Marina and Bar. I enjoy the atmosphere, the people are always warm and friendly. Im fairly new here and Im getting to know the people here, and what I notice

I had the fish and onion rings. The fish was dry and the batter did not have any flavor. The onion rings were hot and good. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp up to the door.

This place was not very friendly. The waitress took forever to give us our food and When we ask for Wrench dressing, they took forever to give it to us. They seem to be racist.. Food

Saw this place had good reviews so we stopped in at lunchtime. Asked if breakfast was still being served, after asking the server said yes. Placed an order for 2 ham & cheese omelettes, and a cheeseburger. 55 minutes later, mind you there were 2 other tables occupied with a total of 6 people, we got our food. Omlettes were not warm, fruit was dumped into a bowl right out of a can with the can juice included, and a biscuit that hardly qualified as such, as it seemed to be not fully baked. The burger was ok, but the fries were burned. Not overcooked in the oil, but burned, like they were put on the grill. The drinks were ok. Packed the cups with ice so they would only use about 4 ounces of soda in the cup. Definitely not a good place if you re looking for quality food, so we will not come back or recommend this place. I guess if you re drunk, the wait time for your food flies by without you noticing? Wimpy s is the correct name for this place.

Our first visit here and we re disappointed! The servers are nice, but the service was very very slow. We ordered 2 of their Famous Hamburger and it took way too long to get them and by the time we got them, they were already cold and the buns started to crack after a few bites. The patty was too dry also. The tots were semi warm and were too hard.

Had the prime rib dinner along with a couple great Bloody Marys from the bar. Great attentive help and service, good food and nice views. We love Wimpys!

Went to Wimpys for the 1st time in a very very long time. Have to say totally impressed. The food was great, the service was wonderful, very nice people. Ate outside, downstairs by the river and was beautiful. My family and I will definitely be going more often. Oh , forgot about the entertainment, Ryder was very entertaining

Bar service was bomb .. The Moscow mules was good , mojito was not. But were super friendly they discounted us for the burgers we ordered because they messef a burger up ,which was really cool .room for improvement but def will go for drinks

Awful experience to say the least. We have a server who did not know what was going on or how to use the computer to put our orders in. Food is overpriced. Cooks were very slow and dont even know their own menu. I ordered tacos and they did not have shredded so I had to deal with sliced cheese.... for tacos.. my girlfriend got a pasta (dont remember the name) and it was missing the 3 obvious main ingredients of which they were out of 2 of them. We ordered both as a meal that was supposed to come with 2 sides. Never got them. They reduced the bill from like 40 bucks to 19 which we thought was them comping a meal. Nope. Just being charged appropriately since we didnt get the meal... will never go back for their food services. Edit: the owners response was they are new management which has nothing to do with the above experience. Tighten up your employees.

I would give this place 0 stars if possible. Worst service we have ever had. Upstairs sent us down to the bar area. The server downstairs said we had to go upstairs and she couldnt serve us because it was just her and she wouldnt be able to give us good service They werent even busy and the server didnt come to the table for awhile once we finally sat down. Didnt bring our drinks, we had to go to the bar. She forgot a couple meals on our order. Not a lot of choices on the water where we drove by but I would avoid this restaurant. I know places are suffering to find good help but this was beyond that.

Laid back, very casual vibe. Loved the chili and club sandwiches. Chicken tenders were good, could have used some kind of dipping sauce. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Total dive and that would be ok if the service and food were great but they weren t. Service was average at best, took FOREVER to get our food, and the food was just so-so.

needs cleaned and a bit of TLC but the atmosphere is rite near da beach.

It was ok, started inside, moved to the deck(with All the flys) the food was Ok. Its more of a get drunk & eat type place. The scenary is nice though for a relaxing night out for drinks or to camp a cpl nights. Be careful though I had to make a QUICK RT hand turn(almost missed it) there are no signs by the highway pointing the way or to say warn you its coming up.

Went there for the first time in many many years to treat my 13 y/o daughter after a soccer game. There were three tables occupied including ours. I had to go get my own menus from the bar area because no one greated us or told us anything. Service was super super slow. We moved to the counter hoping for quicker service. Didn t work. Their signature $15 Wimpy burger was meh. The fries were barely warm. I asked my non picky daughter what she thought about the burger. She said she preferred Burger King. From the mouth of babes Wont be going back.

Had lunch at Wimpys today. The food was okay but 6 dollars for a Corona beer is outrageous. The service was really lacking. Long wait for food the waitress was nice but not attentive.

This restaurant should not even be open dont eat at Wimpys you can get food poison and will be at the emergency room like me and my two kids . They really should not be open .

Service was good. Food was nice and fresh. Amazing waitress named Natalie who is very cute and welcoming. This was my first time going, went with my boyfriend and his cousin and my oh my we all loved our food!!! I unfortunately did not get any pics but just know AMAZING and a must try if in the area!

I drive over an hour to come here and do karaoke. People are nice, bartenders rock, food is great and the karaoke fun. The sunsets are beautiful here cause they are right on the water. I highly recommend it.

Never been here before, just stepped in for a quick drink and everyone was so friendly. Now the bartender Jaime very attentive, friendly , courteous, just a no happy go lucky loves her job type of gal.

Monday night 730 pm rode into Whimpys Marina. Hit the bar and was offered some man cave monday. I was floored gorgeous tender rib eye with great marbleing. Salad great soup. Under 12 bucks I added a handful of sautéed shrimp for a few bucks more. Jaime my bartender didnt miss a lick. I will ride the 45 minutes from home next monday. Cant beat this special.

And food quality makes any eatery a place you want to eat at Wimpys its being on the river that is the draw and service

Worst meal I have had in a long time!! My daughter and her boyfriend brought me here raving about the Wimpy burger. Wimpy doesnt begin to describe it. Down right horrible! The clam chowder they served was a soup with vegetables and possibly cheese, oh it had canned clams in it, but it was not clam chowder. It was served cold to boot. The only bright spot was the tater tots, cooked to perfection. Apparently the cook was sober enough to get that right. I woke up today with a headache and sick to my stomach. This was the only meal I had eaten all day, except for grapes and strawberries. If you want food poisoning, this is the place, unless you drink enough alcohol to kill the bacteria, apparently thats what the locals do. Bon appetit!!

This facility is awesome! The food was exceptional, bartender and waitresses were very friendly. The atmosphere here is quite nice. Youll need to come during the evening and experience the sunset! Truly beautiful. Plenty of parking and well lit at night. Ill definitely be coming back to experience more from the menu...And another beautiful sunset

The upstairs bar and restaurant is fantastic. Good drinks, great food, and friendly staff. The lower level is a completely different place I guess. Not as friendly. Couldnt get a drink. The owner was yelling at passing boats.

Love it. The atmosphere, the company and best of all, its the delta. Three miles west of hwy. 5 out of Thornton.

Rotten atmosphere and food. Ended up here after kayaking and thought wed go in and have a bite and a drink. Worst experience ever on the delta. A regular of the place who lived in the homes there was making racial jokes towards my friend and I while the bartender and waitress laughed. I could see the hate in their eyes while they laughed. We got a drink and a burger but was unsure if we should even take a bite of the burger since they obviously didnt like us. As another review on here said, they turn away customers for no other reason but race. Will never spend another dollar here again or recommend this place to anyone. To the waitress and bartender; treat others how you would like to be treated. To the owner; give these people a lesson in equality and customer service.

Dropped in while driving around the delta area. Location is great. My wife ordered breakfast and I ordered a salad for lunch. Worst food we have had in a long time. The wait was close to an hour. The server was new and I will give her credit for trying to be helpful. The cook had no idea how to cook for a large group. Very disorganized. Just as we were about to give up and cancel our order, he suddenly had our order ready, with a surly comment to boot. We stayed and ate but the food turned out to be totally uninspired and overpriced for the quality. Would not recommend or return. The one star is generous!

Changing owners and the pandemic has definitely impacted this place. The past 2 yrs has definitely been challenging for the new owners. They are awesome people. Hopefully word of mouth will bring business back.

Slow service.. food needed more seasoning. And the prices were too high!

The food use to be good but new owners took over and Ive only eaten there once as it was awful I ordered biscuits and gravy and I got old gravy and moldy toast.
