Ate here during the triathalon event as it was the only place open. I believe I got food poisoning from here, while pregnant. I even asked if they could ensure lettuce was thoroughly washed and meat cooked through. Spent the next day throwing up.

First time there, young waiter had an attitude for no reason (probably imagining that he gets Einstein IQ and Ronaldo s appearance) old men who work there seem little agressive toward other customers, like whatsup you guys aren t the only restaurant or remaining humans on earth? my waitress was nice, my food wasn t fresh. The food was amazing!!! The gnocchi was some of the best pasta I ve had outside of Italy. I personally thanked the chef for the experience I had. The service was also satisfactory definitely would go back again!

My boyfriend and I stopped in for a mid day drink. We had a great experience, the staff was wonderful. Bar service was quick! Our bartender Brooklyn, made us a Miami Vice cocktail (Pina colada and strawberry daiquiri mixed). Definitely felt like we entered summer mode! Also, if you get a chance, you should definitely try a Basement Dweller shot! We will definitely be back!

Worse place in Wasaga, avoid, avoid! They don t even know their own menu, a real joke! The bar manager is rude, and she doesn t even know the difference between a Malibu and a Rum! She was disrespectful, and their 11$ cocktails are fruit juices . We had to wait 45 minutes to get a Pina Colada that was a Pineapple juice just walk to the next bar/restaurant, you will save time and money!

I hear the Dard might be under new management so hopefully they can take this as feedback. Food wasn t terrible at all but half the menu was unavailable and fried items came to the table cold. There was a very unenjoyable game of competing music happening. Great live band in the bandstand drowned out by radio pop music on the patio. A shame. If it s under new ownership, a note to the owners and managers: take care of the basics: food, ambience and service! There is no reason for a lake front patio to be empty on a sunny weekend evening.

Slow service. Poor quality food. Lack of transparency. Waiter forgetting requests multiple times. Lack of transparency. Details below (times approximate, +/- 1-2 mins): ------------------- 13:45PM: Got to the restaurant. 13:50PM: Seated (with many empty tables and only one party ahead of us). 14:00PM: Order taken only after having to wave at three different waiters. Also, we went in to get seated because we wanted pizza and we were told there was no pizza; they could have put a sign at the bottom of the stairs and amended the menu even temporarily to disclose no pizza as it is annoying to find out when seated and awkward to say okay were leaving then. 14:05PM: Beer (in a can) came - very cold which was nice. 14:35PM: Asked (after waiving at two waiters) why food was taking so long. Told restaurant overwhelmed. Waiters did not come to us ourselves. 14:40PM: Fries (just the fries, finally came out). No sign of truffle oil so they took the item off the receipt and let us keep the item (not worth keeping, fries dry and lack of flavour). 14:45PM: Burger came out with fries (but we ordered a side salad). 14:46PM: Side salad came out. 14:55: Asked for bill. Came out in 1 minute (if only everything else did). Used credit card machine to pay (gave 15% tip despite service because people deserve to make a good living wage + they took the truffle fries off the bill). Asked for a box to take some left overs home. 15:00PM: Bill paid. Realized that gratuity was already included in the bill but the credit card machine also had a top option. We were a party of two - gratuity is automatically included for larger parties. Extremely frustrating that we were not told. Yes I did not double check the bill but this is a transparency issue, not to mention the very poor service to begin with so not sure why gratuity would be automatically imposed on customers and then credit card machines with the option to tip even more. Happy to help out with a little more tip so everyone on the team gets a bit for being hard working (they likely dont want to be slow either as that is stressful) but the lack of transparency coupled with poor service is quite disappointing. 15:05PM: Went to see where the takeout box went and the waiter said he forgot after which he gave it to us. Did not even bother to mention the tip as it isnt worth wasting time and making them feel awkward when they are already overwhelmed + we had things to do too. I wrote this review so that there can be some quality control to hopefully allow the restaurant to improve in the future. Not a place I would go back to myself though. Their Google message from the owner says Wasaga Beachs Favourite restaurant and patio... Well it isnt even close to being mine based on this experience.

Me and my friends were given burnt food and when we told them about it the manager got up all in my face showing attitude. We felt harassed and I am currently emotionally damaged. I don t recommend this restaurant at all save your money and go somewhere else

Havent been to the Dard in years! I heard they are under new management, so we thought we would give it a try. The new look and menu is fantastic! We had the pleasure of the beautiful GM Bridgit, welcome us with a smile. Located on the famous wasaga strip is a must try! We are so glad we did! Food

Very nice spot! The food was good and the drink too but $15 for a mojitos served in a plastic glass and on top of that charging me $3 for asking for mayonnaise when I was eating a burger and they didnt tell me. ..I found it ordinary! Service ok but nothing more!

Customers be alert Note that these guys added already a tip of 18%, in the bill that the waiter present you. They do not inform you...., so..., if you dont pay attention (like me) your (usual) added tip is on top of their tip that they took already. I always trusted restaurants and waiters. Not anymore. Good customer service and nice views but food was not tasty at all and very pricey for this food. Fries was so bad I can smell the fried oil and nachos not cooked well, chicken wings and burger are no taste at all and I asked for coke the taste is like ice tea. Sorry but I don t recommend this restaurant to have food.

Shoutout to Bridgette the manager for being so accommodating to my family & I! Recently hosted 60 of them, pre-ordered food and the drinks were great sizes. Food came out fresh & on time, the servers especially Lindsay!! Thank you guys for the best beach day ever-- well definitely be back.

I am just disappointed because gratuity is included on the bill. I didnt realize this When it was time to pay, the waitress did not inform us and it seemed like she was distracting us by talking when I used the debit machine. I ended up tipping a percentage on top of the tip and taxes. I wish she would have spent some time explaining this instead of asking us personal questions. I ended up tipping 10.90 on two drinks. I will never go back. Beautiful view though. Hopefully others can benefit from my bad experience.

The staff automatically adds gratuity to your bill, then you tip them on top thinking that you wont notice. I will be going to the OPP today to have this dump shut down

First time visiting with family of 4. No kids menu. Very expensive for pub food. Nice view. Friendly greeting. We ordered drinks (lemonade for kids and beer for adults). When our food came, we asked for water which is generally serviced automatically. Four bottles of water were brought to our table. Didn t think much of it until the bill came and we were charged $16 for water. When we asked our waitress about the charge, she said they can t serve the tap water in their particular building. This issue should have been brought to our attention when we asked for water and told that we could order bottled water at a charge. Hence, we could have had the choice to decide whether we wanted it or not. We also paid our bill only to realize after that the gratuity was built in. So we ended up tipping on top of a gratuity already built in. Again, we asked our waitress why this was not posted somewhere or mentioned to us prior to paying and she just said sorry about that . Good customer service would let you know that the gratuity is built in. I book a lot of reservations for work functions and generally I have found gratuity is only built in for larger groups or set menu. So for our family of 4 with 2 children 13 and under it cost us $200 for some basic nachos, pizza and burger (no bun), lemonade and a couple beers. We will not be returning or recommending.

Beautiful Beach view! Had great service today! Our waiter informed us that the tip was included. Yesterday however, our waitress didnt inform us the tip was included so we ended up tipping on top of of the already tip and taxes that were charged. We informed management and they were quick to rectify the situation. Management was fantastic! This review, is to inform future patrons to review bill! Otherwise great establishment.

I understand from reading the other comments that I also paid double the tip. I never received my bill but was presented with the terminal with the tipping options. Be careful, be careful. Food and beer ok we pay for the location and admire a sunset.

Skip Gipperman here, this was by far one of the worst establishments, what looked like pubic hair in my sons salad, waiters were so rude and annoyed with my questions about the menu. I found a homeless man smoking crack in the restrooms told me if I ordered him a shrimp scampi hed top me off on the low, had a few bites of the scampi not the worst but glad I didnt have to eat it, all in all the bathroom was the best experience to this place but would not recommend

The service was incredible and so fast, food was yummy. We had a huge party and they were so accommodating and service was fast and accurate.

Just went to have an end of summer sunset dinner - which was lovely, as was our waitress. However, the whole thing fell apart at the end of dinner when we were presented with 4 illegible bills (printer issue). One person in our party questioned the amount that was surprisingly high for what was ordered. Upon reprinting the bills legibly, we were told that gratuity was included. However, only 2 of the 4 of us had gratuity added, the other 2 did not which even surprised our waitress. Had we not questioned it - likely even those who already had gratuity added would have doubled it. Management needs to heed all these reviews about this issue, and fix this problem (or stop the scam)! Leaves a bad taste in your mouth and we will not be back.

I ve been here three times now and have only had one good experience which was not even actually that great I just consider it good because it s the only time I have went and they have had the pasta I like available and the server provided half decent service. The only reason I keep returning is because I love their penne alla vodka. The most recent time I went (about a month or so ago) once it was time to order I ordered the penne alla vodka. The waitress then came back out and told me they did not have it, so I then ordered the fettuccine alfredo, and she said ok great and then left. About two minutes later she comes back and says I m so very sorry and totally understand if you guys want to leave and we will cover the cost of one of your drinks if you do, but we are now looking at a 45 minute wait time for food as the kitchen is very busy would you guys like to leave or stay? We then told her that it was fine and that we would just wait and she said ok and left. Well then about 15 minutes later she comes back to our table and says So sorry we are closing down the kitchen completely the kitchen staff are just too overwhelmed and we are running out of ingredients. Meanwhile the place was not the slightest bit busy anymore and the rush had already passed. So basically provided us with the option to stay or leave, and we decided to stay despite the fact that we were going to have to wait a long time for food, and then after allowing us to wait even longer they tell us just kidding we re closed. My boyfriend and I are very kind and laid back people, so we didn t make a fuss or even speak up because it really didn t matter that much to us, but I just have never experienced such awful service somewhere before, and judging by majority of the other reviews I have read about this place it is a universal experience lol.

Worst service ever! After waiting for 1.5 for food, we had to find our own condiments, cutlery, and go without drinks as they kept seating people but clearly did not have the staff to accommodate. Some people walked out waiting just for a drink. After 1.5 hours, we got our food, but no appetizers which we had ordered, the food was stone cold. I asked to speak to the manager, he ended up being the owner, and pretty much said people called in sick and they were busy so it is what it is. They just kept seating people knowing they did not have the staffing. Horrible! Spend ypur money elsewhere!

Went here to order food and a few beers. We sat down was not busy, waitress said they only had 1 menu which was torn and tatered. Waited and waited and waited and took pics and waited. Finally we left. Service was terrible and the view was nice but u can get that at 2 other venues in Wasaga Beach. We live here and reading reviews id say stay away. Especially when gratuity is included and also prices are waaaay expensive for pub food.

Dead on a saturday night and heres why.... The food was terrible, terrible. Ive had bad nachos but ive never had nachos this bad, the paper they were in was even burnt, did they bake it in the paper? The vegetables for the nachos were hidden in a lump on the very bottom LOL. The table was full of gunk and the server never offered to clean it on top of taking 10 mins to great us. Drinks took about 10 mins too and they even got that simple order wrong. The place was also just plain dirty.... Do not recommend

Went there on Labour Day with my girlfriend. It wasnt too busy, we got a seat right away. However, the service leaves something to be desired. They didnt provide menus when seating us and it took about 20 minutes by the time we got our drinks. We were asked about 3-4 times if we had already been served by passing staff, which I appreciate, but it wouldnt be necessary if there was a little more coordination and communication between them. Luckily, our server took our food orders with the drinks, because it took an hour to get two salads. And the salads were made to go, even though we were clearly dining in. We would have just taken them out of the boxes and eaten them there, but it took so long to get the orders that our paid parking was about to expire. So we got soggy salads to go. They also dont serve water because the building is old so we had to order bottled water. This place is pricey. Two beers, two soggy salads, and a bottle of water came to $75. I guess I shouldve checked the receipt more clearly, because after reading other reviews, I see that they include tip in the price. Of course they didnt mention it, so I tipped extra. The best thing I can say about this place is it has a nice view of the beach, but I dont think well go back again.

Waited 10 mins to get menus, servers didn t communicate, waited another 15 mins just to get drinks and food order taken, waited 15 mins for drinks, waited 30 mins for two salads that came in to-go containers with dressing already on (by the time we got home they were both soggy and inedible). Parking ran out so we had to leave. Asked server if my salad was accidentally someone s leftovers, she offered to remake the salad but didn t know how long it could take. Didn t offer to refund or make up for it in a realistic way. A 25% tip was included in the bill which we didn t see so we tipped on top of that. $85 in the end for 2 beers.

We sat on the patio for almost 20 minutes workout service. Even though they knew we were there. The waitress looked at us and walked away. Never again will we stop here.

The absolute worst experience in a restaurant Ive ever had, Im usually the type to at least say something positive, but this place was bad, the food was raw the drinks were super expensive and the service was atrocious. 2 hour wait to get a burger and fries and the burger was literally raw. Our server was horrible then they tried to add 3 extra drinks on to the bill. Id give this place negative stars if possible. Avoid this place like the plague.

Disgusting food. Worst service I have ever experienced. We waited more than 50 minites before the server came to us. When we asked why they took so long. The one of 7 servers told us they were busy. The restaurant had 13 people in total in the restaurant. We all watched the servers congregate in front of the bar talking smack about the management that was politely asking them to do there job.All 13 customers heard the conversations. They were laughing at the manager calling them names and being so rude in front of customers, including children. When another customer complained about the unprofessionalism. The manager asked them to leave. They finally came with our food. 2 hours after we sat down. The food was cold and absolutely horrible. When we complained, the manager asked us to leave after demanding we pay for the food we could not eat. We paid. And as we were leaving the servers were harassing us, saying inappropriate comments in front of our children. I have no idea how they are still in business. I have never seen such disrespectful, rude, lack of professionalism. Im not sure what is up with management. Maybe they cant find any professional servers that can do their job with any pride. But avoid this restaurant at ALL costs. The restaurant beside it has good food with professional servers,and management that cares about their customers. DO NOT GO to the Dardanelle! Bananas has good food. And their service is above and beyond what the Dardanelle offers. Bannanas was packed. With their amazing service. We were in and out in less than an hour. Shame on the servers. Shame on the management. Especially, Shame on ownership! You all disgust me and my family. And Im sure all 13 customers that they had on site.

I like leaving positive reviews but this place was just horrible! DONT GO!! It s extremely expensive (we paid over $100 for a pizza two pastas and a side ceaser salad) , the food arrived cold, it took our waitress over 20 minutes for our waitress to tell us they didn t have wings after we ordered- we had to wait over a hour and a half for our food (even though people who arrived after us were getting there food in 30 minutes and they were not that busy) and none of the staff will help you they just walk by and look at you, you get plastic forks and none of the staff knows what they were doing- they just put random charges on the bill and are mad at you for not knowing your table number (like that s our job) BUT WORST OF ALL OUR WAITRESS WAS CLEARLY HIGH. SHE COULD BAIRLY TALK, WAS GOING UP TO RANDOM TABELS TALKING AND LAUGHING WHEN CLEARLY NOBODY WAS AT THE TABLE AND SHE WAS GETING RIGHT IN OUR PERSONAL SPACE and the list goes on. JUST DONT GO AND SAVE YOUR MONEY. THIS PLACE IS A LITERAL JOKE. Not even the view was worth it with all the horible factors that went into this

Pleasantly surprised with the delicious fresh food, large portion sizes and reasonable prices! Considering the prime location and beautiful view, this place is a gem. The service staff were very friendly, with the chef checking to see how we enjoyed our meal. Fabulous!

Waste of time

One of the worst restaurant experiences at one of the best beach experiences in Ontario! Overpriced undercooked food to your heart s content as much as you can handle! Oh and that s assuming you even get noticed after they seat you for 20 minutes without even once acknowledging your presence and without being able to order a single bite. That is, until you start making it for the door. But by that point you should probably consider yourself lucky that you ve escaped unscathed and with your stomach and wallet intact! Avoid at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!

This place has amazing cheap grill food ..I have no idea why its underrated? Do yourself a favour and grab pizza Houseade doe daily and fresh brushetta..proper grilled calamari.. and endless huge fry basket !!!

Went here to grab a couple drinks during the day we were greeted and sat down 10 minutes went by with 2 or 3 different servers walking past us serving maybe 4-5 tables in the entire place and not one stopped by. Then decided to move outside to maybe have better luck, still nothing, waited again. Tried to get a drink at the bar only to be told no and go back to wait at the table where we once again waited, total combined time was probably about 20-25 minutes before we got to order a drink another 5-10 minutes to get the drink we decided just to skip trying to order food as our server smoked on the stairs and used the phone and just paid up and left. I hate to imagine how long the wait here and bad the service is on a regular beach day where it s busy. I recommend to go anywhere else.

Bad food, service bad due to under staff, over priced.

The food was like something you would find in a second years pantry. Gross and barely edible. The bartender was a sweet girl who was clearly running off her feet. There were other staff around but they all appeared to be drinking. Not a place to have anything to eat with those drinks!!!

Came to this place for lunch @1:30pm. Was told 25mins wait. So we waited. 35 mins later we finally get seated. There are 5 of us in our family. No one was coming to our table after sitting there for 15mins. I asked one of the staff if we could give our order. She looked at us and simply said, Im not a server and walked away! It took another 10mins for our server to take our order. Only after I got up from my seat to tell him that he took orders from two other tables who were seated AFTER us! Another 10 mins to get our water. Another 20 mins to get our food. Grilled calamari with salad was barely a meal. Even looked too small to be an appetizer at a ridiculous price! My 2 sons grilled calamari came to the table COLD--not warm--cold like it came out of the fridge! Terrible food and horrible service! Dont waste your time and $$!

Fun environment. Simple but a goid hangout

Worst restaurant I have ever been to. Ordered bbq wings and they came out dry as sand with a pathetic container of sauce on the side to dip them into which tasted freezer burnt somehow. I also ordered a Mojito and it was the worst decision Ive made in recent days, the mint leaves were rotten and it tasted pungent. Server was very nice though.

Bad beer selection. Terrible wet Nachos. Btw, you dont bake your Nachos with the tomatoes. Add tomatoes once baked or it makes the nachos wet and soggy! Day one cooking people. Gratuity was included already, But your option to tip still shows up when you go to pay, so you end up double tipping. SHADY. All said and done, 80 bucks gets you, 4 cans of Mexican beer, and unedible Nachos. Dont waste your time

Nice place to have a drink. Patio overlooking the Bay is great but the food is horrible. 70% of the menu is unavailable and what we had was terrible.... However, the staff is very courteous.

What not to try? The steak sandwich. If you want to go here to eat, be prepared for slow service. Slow service to get your drinks in, slow service to get your food. We waited over half an hour to get our order of wings and steak sandwich. When the steak sandwich came, we were shocked that it didn t look like a steak sandwich. Instead, we were served something else since it s breaded and it s very thin. Given that it was not what we ordered, we said that we do not want the order. It was also wrongly served when we asked to serve it with cheddar cheese and not mozzarella, they did not make the order right. Chipotle mayo was not also added to the dish. The server said she needed to talk to the manager because that is the steak sandwich. She said it s because the steak is hammered out flat and fried. She came back and said that is the steak sandwich. We insisted it wasn t and she finally said that it s veal but it s close enough. We further explained to her that veal and steak are not the same thing. If it s veal, they should have put that on the menu instead of deceiving the customer. We didn t touch that sandwich. We said we don t want this order and she said she needed to talk to the manager about it. She never came back to say anything thereafter. Meanwhile we were eating our wings. We noticed the wings were also not cooked entirely through. There were pink in a lot of the wings after going through three to four of the wings. We were also upset about this. During the whole dining experience, we watched tables leave halfway through because either the wait for the food was too long or their experience was not pleasant. Other tables were waiting around to get their order in for a long time too. Just horrible customer service and very unorganized. When it came to paying the bill, they did not take off the steak sandwich. We were so shocked. We asked the server why the steak sandwich was not taken off the order since we did not get what we asked for and were not offered anything to compensate it. She insisted that that is what a steak sandwich is and the manager was not on site to make a decision on whether the order can be taken off the bill. I was confused with what she was saying given that she mentioned to us earlier she was talking to the manager. I can t believe that they still insisted the steak sandwich is what was served when we explained that veal and steak are not the same thing. If it s veal, it should be stated as veal. Not. Steak. We ended up just paying for the wings even though it wasn t even cooked properly. Worst dining experience ever and customer service was horrible. They need to be more organized in both the service, how to handle costumer complaints to ensure satisfaction and the cooking procedures.

Great venue and service but the food is just something they seem to have to do. Dont waste your money paying these people to cook for you.. gross was the first words that came out of my mouth.

I would give it a zero if there is an option. Ordered the steak... The server said the kitchen LOST the order. Waited for more than 2 hours for an order that was lost. We should have been informed for this. Thank you for wasting our time.

Saddly this is my first review ever. I really dont like to do this but in Corona Virus times it is not acceptable the waitress are using the mask in the neck. Besides, they did not have almost anything from the menu. We just paid the drinks and run away from there. Google should allow zero stars for reviews. This place does not deserve even one star.

We waited inside for a table on the patio. The host promised us the next table, but they sat several groups before us. We finally got a table after having to proactively grab one ourselves, and then we sat there for 15 minutes and were not even provided with menus or offered a drink. We left very disappointed. Horrible service!

Completely unorganized, rude and unprofessional staff. Dont waste your time here. Extremely slow service with uninformed servers. Actually left after 20 minutes and went to Burger King. What a pathetic joke of an establishment! I find it hysterical that your response below, and the one prior are identical and automatic. It really looks like you care. At least your refer to Dardanella as a facility . Quite on point since it s more of a garbage disposal unit. New management required. What hot spot location entirely wasted.

Food was very good

Please save your money! We could have made better food at home. The food was horrible. The fries were overcooked to the point that we could not eat them, the nachos were soggy and my drink was not mixed correctly. The service was mediocre. For such a prime beach location, this was just a sad disappointment.

Great venue with friendly staff. Has a Lot of potential to do better. Stronger marketing would be a great idea for upcoming events. Handing out flyers on the beach to gain traction for each nights event would be beneficial. There is no go to place for house music in Wasaga and now that you guys will be filling that void...social media marketing and *Face to Face* (on the beach handing out flyers...etc.) is very important. :)

Very un organized waiting over 20 minutes to be seated because the kitchen staff cant catch up even when tables are free. It takes that long to order with a large group makes no sense to make people line up around others trying to eat at tables when they can be seated and comfortable..also if u put ur name in and come back ur spot is lost.... needs new managment

Besides waiting 20 mins just to be seated and served our meal, we ordered the $25 sea food pasta that was very disappointing... no sauce and barely any flavour! We also ask for parmesan that looked and tasted fake and smelled gross. Also while eating there were multiple spiders and they were very close to us and our food which was disgusting! Our $150 mean was horrible other then the view and the wine.

We had a group of 5 people for dinner, our server was very friendly but it seemed they were understaffed or unable to communicate well with each other. Service was slow, 3 menu items were out of stock at the time we ordered, and the bill was wrong at the end (was corrected). Bathroom was not very clean and was out of hand soap. Other than that, it was a nice location with a view of the beach and the food was what I expected it to be. Pictured is their poutine and a sex on the beach drink.

Absolute worst service! Normally I can tolerate generic upsells, but this place takes the cake! My husband was craving a pepperoni pizza, so we ordered the darndanella without the French fries. The server quickle mentioned, the margarita add pepperoni. We were cool with that considering the margarita came with fresh basil! So down! By the time our pizze came we were disappointed. Yes pepperoni, no fresh basil. We just wanted to confirm what we ordered, half way through our meal, had to flag another server down. She said it was the dardenella no fries but was punched in was the margarita add pepperoni. I would have been cool with paying extra if we had recieved everything on the pizza. I understand servers need to upsell, but give me a break. If Im paying for something give it to me please. Dont nickle and dime. I understand it was a slow night, but my hubby and I are a gold mine. We tip 30%, hes a KM and Im a FOH manager. We know the biz and live in it. Such disrespect towards guests. 0 tip and we honestly dont even feel bad for it! Good luck.

Good pizza, fried food. Amazing view.

No system is in place. Throughout the night, I was charged different prices for the same drink by different bartenders and when I had a long island ice tea and went back for another one, the other bartender said they don t do these there lol. Due to overcharging of drinks, I was pretty upset by the end of night. For example: I paid $8 for Rum and coke at first multiple times and then later on I was asked $10 for it, and when asked the bartender just refused that this drink could never be $8. Its a BIG BIG mess and you feel like you are being scammed!

Terrible glow party music sucked and the party ended an hour before the ticket said it would. I d like to figure out how I go about getting a refund.

Service was great but the food was where it really shined. Iced tea was freshly squeezed, and the chicken tendors were tossed to perfection. The burgers were superbly rolled also and the pizza was shredded very well. By the end of it, we were fighting over the leftovers! Three cheers for Dardanella.
