I've been to Sushi J's a total of four times now, and I only have high praise. I have had their maki spicy tuna rolls, kamikaze rolls, wanton soup, miso soup, kani salad, the sushi & sashimi + tempura bento, and their bulgogi. For drinks, I have had their green tea, mango slush, and the chocolate bubble tea. All of their food is absolutely lovely, and I enjoy everything I've tried; I will focus on my favourites. I need to start with their wanton soup. I have ordered this again and again — and I fall in love with it every single time. Their wantons are made with chicken and cilantro, and are the most flavourful I have ever had. Their spicy tuna and kamikaze rolls are both very good, and the bulgogi is great. All their dishes are fresh, give perfect portions, and everything has depth of flavour and textures. Lastly, I am a tea enthusiast, so I must mention that I quite like the green tea they serve. If you like yours to be steeped for longer, they are very accomodating and will bring you a teapot where you can allow it to rest however long you please. The atmosphere is super cozy. I always find myself relaxed whenever I walk through their doors. With the beautiful plants and the welcoming and friendly owners, each visit ends up being wonderful! I highly recommend Sushi J.
Highly recommend Sushi J! Everything was delicious and the place was so friendly! The bubble tea was amazing and hwaedupbap was perfect. I got a takoyaki to go and that hit the spot. If you’re looking for a Korean/Japanese place nearby the beach, this place is the best! Go check it out!
This is a small establishment, with HUGE flavor. The Korean dishes as well as Japanese what a successful combination. They definitely deserve recognition of high quality food and a pleasant atmosphere. The size of the location is a hindering factor as the limited seating are sure to be a problem if you are hungry 😜
Disappointing, was not worth the $50 in my opinion. Service was quick, kind, and helpful, but the sushi was underwhelming, unfortunately. We ordered spicy tuna and salmon maki. The flavor was lacking and the spice was weak. Although, we did enjoy the deep fried sushi. Usually I will compensate the flavor with wasabi, but the provided wasabi was in very small quantity.
This is the best sushi we had. Very fresh and flavourful. Beautiful presentation. The food is prepared with such care and skill. The staff is friendly. I can only highly recommend it. We will definitely return for more.
I ordered a beef yaki udon, a California hand roll, and my brother and bf shared a sashimi platter. We ate in and the staff were super friendly and attentive! Food was amazing and presented so beautifully. They do take out as well but eating in was clean and comfortable. If you are in the area and haven’t tried them or just want amazing sushi this is the place!
Sushi J is a fantastic spot for sushi enthusiasts. The miso soup is outstanding—rich and full of flavor, definitely the best I've had recently. The tempura is crispy and delicious, perfectly hitting the mark. The sushi is fresh and expertly crafted. This place is a must-visit for anyone craving top-quality Japanese cuisine. Highly recommended!
Wasaga Beach finally has a fantastic sushi spot with the opening of Sushi J! The sushi was incredibly fresh and had a delightful texture. The owners were exceptionally friendly, and it was great to chat with them about their move from Vaughan. Whether you're picking up or dining in, this place is a must-try, and I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in the area!
Discovered this little gem this weekend. Very nice sushi. The sashimi was well cut, fresh and delicious. Their miso is rich and full of flavour and even got the tofu in it! Oh and their green tea is loose leaf in a bag, absolutely delicious. I wish they had Ebi Sunomo for salad but they aren t big enough (yet) give this place a try, their sushi is pretty good!!! Word of mouth around town at its best and they totally well deserved we will be back.
Very small restaurant, not very appealing for dine in, so we did takeout. It was some of the best sushi we have ever had, surprisingly good, and prices were reasonable. Presentation was lovely, lots of colour, and the various pieces all had their own individual flavour, which was without exception excellent, and it tasted very fresh. We shared the small Sushi and Maki platter (42 pieces), which was plenty of food for two people ($63 plus tax). Definitely will be back.
Go to spot for office lunch! The salmon teriyaki lunch special is delicious and affordable. Quality of food is great, freshly made to order. Would love to see more Boba tea options.

First time ordering sushi takeout from this place. I have to say that this is definitely the BEST and FRESHEST sushi in southern Georgian Bay! Since moving up to the area over 3 years ago, weve been on the hunt and this is better than anything that weve found. We will be back - weekly!
Fresh ingredients and made to perfection each time. I ve ordered take out from here 8 times now and not once have I been disappointed. Totally recommend the spicy salmon sushi pizza YUM!
Cute and clean little restaurant. Ordered the Sakura 21 and shared veggie spring rolls with a friend. I ll no longer need to drive to Collingwoods Hungry Sumo for my Maki Set as Sushi J is just as good! Great customer service, the ladies working at the front of house were very kind and welcoming, and the food was good!
We are at Wasaga Beach twice a month and make it a point to stop by Sushi J at least once every visit. Sufficient parking in the plaza even during peak season, though you could blink and miss it if coming from the beach side. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We try to visit outside the lunch/dinner rush so as not to wait for a table, and have always ended up at the same one every visit :). The sushi and sashimi are always perfectly fresh and served at just the right temperature: not cold right out of the fridge, not quite room temp. Good variety when you get one of the combo boats, and the slices are generous without being unwieldy. Wifey always asks to get a hand roll, two of which could properly be considered a snack, three a meal. Sushi Js hand rolls hold together the whole way - inferior rolls tend to fall apart halfway down. I particularly enjoy the spicy tuna version. Prices are no different than were used to in Mississauga, and cheaper than Toronto. Great value IMO. Special shout out to the bingsu and bubble tea side kiosk they had going for a while, it was fun for the kids to punch in their own choices and have the dessert brought tableside. Our last visit the wait staff took the order instead - more convenient I suppose, and the bingsu is pretty great, leave some room for this if you can.
Very enjoyable Bento supper. Tempura not greasy (like some places). We will definitely be back. A liquor licence for saki would be appreciated.

Finally a Sushi restaurant un Wasaga Beach. Really good Sushi. Awsome service. We took a med maki plate and we were amaze about about the qualité.
We ve been praying for sushi in the beach, and luckily this place is delicious! We ve gotten sushi for take out twice now and it s been so delicious both times. Great portion sizes, the fish is delicious, great quick service snd fresh sushi!!
First time trying this place today and unfortunately I wasn t impressed . The chicken teriyaki had no flavour at all I really didn t like the sushi either. I really love to eat teriyaki and sushi , I was really hoping I would love this because I have to drive to sushi hon in Collingwood to get this meal and this would have been so much closer . The servers were so kind so it suck s I have to write a bad review about the food .

Tried the New Sushi J restaurant in wasaga beach. Best Sushi I have ever had, and I have had a few in Toronto. The Maki platter was delicious and with tons of variety. Prices are very reasonable and tons of variety on the menu. We will definitely be back.

So excited to have a sushi place in Wasaga and went as soon as I could after they opened! Had the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box and it was delicious and came with so much variety including Miso Soup, Rice, various Tempra, spring rolls and 6pcs of California roll! Service was quick and sweet. Will definitely be back!
