Excellent food, friendly atmosphere. Wo default pub. Perfect place for a pint and good food.

Great find. Super tasty food, good sized portions. Fast and really friendly service.

Its unfortunate that one cant get decent food anymore and yet pay so much for what you get. So here are a few suggestions for the owner/manager of this establishment: Put your salad (even the small portion) on a decent size plate so that you can at least toss it to mix the dressing in without everything falling off the sides. The balsamic dressing was acutually tasteless as was the mixed greens. Dont put cheese in your potato soup. It makes for messing eating trying to deal with the cheese strings clinging to your spoon. The soup was too creamy, and didnt have enough body to it. The flavour was just passable. The garlic bread was toasted nicely but was not a good quality bread and lacked garlic flavour. Sorry but Ill not eat here again.

We were here for friends trivia night. It was fantastic!!! Everyone was so engaged in the game- very well done!! The food was creative and delicious!!A great night!! We have been for other events & looking forward to more in the (near) future!!

This place was absolutely amazing! The food, was sooooo good. The staff was super friendly, and was very helpful when we couldnt make up our minds. The menu made it really hard to choice what to get becuase everyrhing sounded absolutely delicious. We ended up having the stuffed mushrooms, which are dipped in the fish batter (we honestly thought they were going to be frozen, so was pleasantly surprised) and the gaffers and they were both so good. We got the fish and chips, which, yes, were a little greasy but honestly if you know English fish and chips, is not surprising, and the crunch to the batter, oh my good it was mouth watering! The sticky toffee pudding was great. We will definitely be going back again, and I will definitely be recommending this place!

The bangers and mash were great. Interestingly the owners son played for the Leicester Tigers Rugby club in Leicester. My daughter lived just down the street from the clubs playing field. A rugby ball throw from the club.

First time there. The food was pretty good but not amazing. Service was good. Atmosphere, we sat inside and everyone else outside, so it was hard to tell. Nothing was bad but nothing was great.

Second time eating here. It was delicious! The staff are very welcoming and everything came promptly and was fresh and hot! If you havent tried the Gibble Goose, you really should! Their menu is a great selection of British Pub food and Canadian favourites. You wont be disappointed!!

I ordered here for the first time and the food was OK, however the portion size and price didn t make sense. I paid for a roughly $100 order, and the weight of everything seemed about 1-2 lbs, which lines up with the general shrinkflation trend. Not super happy about that. Also, the Caesar salad had shredded cheddar cheese on it . Anyways, could be better.

My 90 year old grandmother and I are on a summer tour of restaurants in Norfolk County and area. We started off at the Gibbled Goose and were quite pleased with our choice. The fish and chips were excellent. The portions were very generous. The onion rings were really good! The restaurant was largely empty but the decor and general appearance were homey. Service was not incredible but definitely not bad. We were there early in the day and had the bartender as a server. Overall, it was a good dining experience.

Gaffer fries were yummy

Super nice people and I want so bad to give a high rating but I need to be fair and honest with reviews. The fish was soooo greasy it was almost inedible there was barely any fish in the grease and batter. For reference I love hutches and they tend to be a little greasy. The fries were nice and crispy but the fish was a huge let down.

Was a bit skeptical walking in here, thought the name was funny and wanted to check it out. The place was a bit too quiet business wise so was even more nervous. I normally stick to classic foods like burgers, but I decided to try the Banners and Mash and the gaffers (I think thats what they were called) and WOW!!!!! Sausage was cooked perfectly, best gravy I have had from a restaurant in a long while! Im not in the area often but I will be back when I can

If you are looking for excellent comfort food with a home-cooked essence, this is the place for you! They have a large menu with lots of variety. The fish and chips are absolutely fantastic. I have eaten here a handful of times on my own but recently I took my whole family. The servers are very friendly and provide fast and efficient service. You really experience a family environment, however watching the game with your buddies here would be a lot of fun. They have lots of live entertainment on weekends as well. Lastly, the owner of this restaurant always checks in and provides a personal experience. A nice touch for a warm and friendly place to enjoy a meal. Go see for yourself!!!

Our first visit was Feb 18. So many good things to write about. I had the 2 pc fish and a side caesar salad. Both were excellent. My wife had the curry pie, and LOVED IT. Highly recommended if curry if your bowl. Sister in law had the fish and chips and was blown away. Music selection and the vibe was amazing. Our waitress (I assume the owner?) was so pleasant, quick and professional. Very patient with our toddler who was running around a bit. Much appreciated. A local gem of a place. A great local place we will be bringing more business to.

We ordered the chicken Caesar salad and a burger in lettuce wrap and coleslaw. The salad and coleslaw were amazing. The only thing I would recommend is a bigger piece of lettuce for the wrap.

This is the place if youre looking for an amazing no fuss UK experience. The fish and chips arent covered in 18 layers of thick chewy batter - instead they are fried crispy and delicious. The steak, mushroom, and Guiness pie is a great, slow roasted pie filling with a puff pastry top. Its not in pie form, but its just as delicious. We had Lorraine, who was awesome. We will definitely be back. Long Live the Goose! Honk!!

While away at a vball tournament our group of 19 found ourselves in need of a last minute dinner reservation due to a massive power outrage. The good people at the Gibbled Goose two towns over made room for us on very short notice. The food is delicious and homemade. The service was warm and gracious. And the menu is priced for the whole family. Highly recommended!

What a terrific place for a REAL pub meal. My friends and I had been planning to check out The Gibbled Goose for quite a while and when we finally followed through in mid-May our only regret was not doing it sooner. OUTSTANDING quality pub fare, with fish and chips that are definitely five star. EXCELLENT service that says this is an establishment that cares about ensuring its customers have a great time (take a bow Ben!) We are looking forward to getting back there very soon to start working our way through the menu! (Actually the fish and chips was so good we may have to do a repeat on that before we decide to spread our wings! ) Definitely check our The Gibbled Goose soon!

Ben is the most delightful server, very personable. And cute too.

Sat on the patio, which is a roped-off section of the parking lot. We had large chicken curry poutine and classic BLT. Couldnt find any cheese on the poutine, but still tastey. BLT was tastey too, bacon slices were small and thin. The Rum Goose cocktail was nice, hometown beer was nice too.

Absolutely hands down worst meal/drink/service Ive ever received Food wasnt cooked (soggy and cold) Bottles of beer where slinky and un drinkable. Floors where sticky and littered with garbage. Both my wife and I went home unable to finish out meals and sick once we got home..... Was not a busy night as we where the only people present. UPDATE our dog wont even eat the food we brought home from you...

Take out was super easy online, staff were friendly, only thing is the burger wasn t anything special!

I tried their food for the first time today and it was completely disgusting. No seasoning on my food, the gravy on my poutine was flavourless. Fries were barely cooked and my burger was burnt and of course no seasoning if I can make better food at home why would I give you my money? McDonald s does it better.

Great experience. First restaurant we dined in in our new small town. Staff were awesome. Owner was a sweet heart. 8 people in our party and food and service was impeccable. Will definitely be coming back.

The decor and overall Environment ; very cute. The waitresses are kind, and hard working. But the food is awful :( Our first complaint was a chocolate milkshake. It was very bland, and possibly freezer burnt. Waitress handled this complaint professionally. Our food arrived at a normal wait time. Shepards pie was cold in some places piping hot in other spots. Waitress handled this complaint professionally as well. Poutine gravy was extremely bland, cheese curds were cold in the middle. Chicken wings were amazing though!

This place was nice and the servers were nice . If you like pub food wonderful if youre looking for more healthy choices this probably isnt for you. They did over charge us by two items but were super sweet about it when we caught the mistake. Their milkshakes were the best thing there for sure!

Fish and chips very Good

We had fish and chips. The waitress was friendly. Seems there are regulars as the staff spent time chatting with them. The sun was beaming in and some customers were moving around so possibly blinds would help.

I am very sorry to say that, but these guys are not allowed to be called a restaurant or to cook! Almost 2 hours wait. When you order chicken wings you are hoping to see at least 1! in the whole 1,5 lbs. But no! Not a single one was in, only dry, unchewable, not marinated, no salt or anything else drumsticks from an old chicken I guess, cause they were so hard to chew! Fries were under cooked. So the food you are thinking there is no way it can be bad was really bad. The only edible stuff was BBQ sauce and those ketchup /vinegarsticks! Never again, sorry

Must try the fish dinner. Got a 2 piece dinner and my oh my was it delicious. Excellent venue, patio area for an outdoor dining experience. If you find yourself in the area, nay, go out of your way to try this restaurant. I will definitely be returning. The service is incredible, very friendly staff. And there is a drive thru window!! Such convenience.

This has become a regular for us. Food is spot on. Service is always exceptional. Very fair pricing. We are a big fan of the wings and mushrooms. Takeout containers have room for improvement.

My husband and I had dinner at The Gibbled Goose last night. It was the first time that we have eaten there. Karen was fantastic as our waitress. We had the deep fried mushrooms as our appetizer, and the fish and chips dinner. The live music was an added bonus. The food was awesome!! I would highly recommend this restaurant to all.

Wow what a gem . Just happened to drive by while day trippen so stopped in for lunch. Love the menu and the food was delicious. If your in need of bangers and mash this place is where its at. Served hot and timely. server was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks they serve 10 out of 10

Unfortunately the appetizer arrived at the same time as the main meal, but they were very good mushrooms. The fish was probably only haddock or cod, but it was good. The fries unfortunately were not fresh cut. The desert was excellent. Overall it was a good dinner.

Had a lovely dinner at the Gibbled Goose last night. Two of us had the chicken, corn and black bean salad which was delicious! The third person in our party had the fish and chips and said its the best shes had. We had a new server Hannah who was excellent, very attentive and great customer service! Highly recommend!

I have tried this place on a few occasions attempting to give it another chance. Unfortunately another chance has led to this post. This place was so empty you could shoot a cannon off and no one in Norfolk would even know. No music, staff that was awkward who suggested this slop as the only thing I eat here The Hometown brew was cold and delicious which is why I gave this place 2 stars. Garbage. Dont waste your time.

They have lost a customer called in an order for 1 2 piece fish and chip dinner at 530 told it would be ready at 630. Sat in the parking lot for 10 minutes had to call twice before someone answered told to me to come in and the kitchen staff would have my order ready stand and wait some more only to be told they had run out of fish. Could not someone have called and told me - nope no courtesy whatsoever -

Great Fish and Chips. I have been multiple times and it is always good. One of our go to places for fish and chips. As for the rest of the menu i cannot comment because i have not had anything else on it. Staff is always friendly and great service. Decor is a little blah but thats not why we go there.

Food was good, typical pub type fare. Service was pleasant and quick though it was a quiet evening. Only other opinions I can give is it doesnt scream pub atmosphere to me with the decor, and there was no background music or volume on the T.V. for background noise. It was nice for carrying a conversation but it was so quiet you could actually hear the fridge compressors running.

Great British style pub just off the trailway, with friendly staff. Enjoyed a lightly battered fish fry with tasty coleslaw and fries (paired with a Somersby apple cider on the rocks). Perfect after 25k on the bikes before heading back to Brantford on the trail.

When I heard their was a new restaurant coming to town I got really excited. But then was let down. The menu is lacking. Needs more items. Not everybody wants the UK pub stuff. Be nice to see a lil variety being Waterfords a small town. I cant see how this is going to stick. Plz change your menu. Have eaten here few times with few people and none of us liked it I think if you went another way with your menu you would of done alot better. Anyways good luck!

Excellent pub in little Waterford. Had the steak and mushroom pie with beets salad side for $2 extra. GF had the fish and chips with a side ceasar salad. All really taste. Steak and mushroom gravy was a tad salty but enough of a concern to warrant a star reduction. Would most definitely return next visit to Waterford. Oh one more thing the Hometown (HTBC) Ale is very nice; nice character.
