Generous side of fresh fruit when ordering the breakfast burrito, as you can see. The loaded beef panini is a small grilled sandwich on a standard piece of toast with some roast beef and garnish. Ok as a cafe, but the food is amateur.

Seven shores is a kind and gentle space to relax and enjoy lunch. It can feel kind of baige, as a Latina, which makes me feel uninspired. It has an internet usuage limitation of 2hrs, but seating seems to be okay for longer, if you dont abuse the space. Sometimes the soup is very good, but sometimes its taste like hippy food and lacks flavour and body. I like the salads. The coffee is Social, a brand from Toronto that isnt very transparent about its practices on their website, but claims to support small farmers in the global south. The locations where they procure coffee are interesting, and worth asking the barista about. I worry about supporting the idea that coffee culture is a space for white saviourism, so Im causcious, but I heard they may also support a Latin owned brand. My barista has been very knowledgeable about coffee, encouraging of my curiousity, and sharing valuable stories. Hipsterism, or colonialism of fine cultures, often feels uninviting for international people. Its a hard balence between being inviting to locals, and supporting the coffee community. I hope the place gets a bit more diversity in its staff, who are paid a living wage. The cafe is owned by a group of local cafe lovers. The coffee is quite strong, in comparison to European coffee. Be careful, drink lots of water!! And ask for a latte with one shot, for more milk, if youre used to a cafe con leche.

One of the best brunch spots in town. Counter service but very friendly. Limited menu but all is well prepared and nicely presented and tasty! Expect to fight for a table as there are many singles treating this more like a coffee shop and setting up their office. Wifi is limited to 2 hours. Blankets are provided for those sitting on the patio.

Nice sunny spot with a front patio. Good breakfast food and gets busy, so you order, take a number and your food is brought to you. If you want a second cup, be patient as everyone deserves their turn. I from out of town, but a returning customer. Wheelchair accessibility: All on one floor.

I have been coming here now for about two years. The staff and food are amazing !!!! The atmosphere is great. In the summer/non winter months you can sit on their beautiful patio. Inside is clean and seating is abundant. On days that are busy it doesn t take long for a seat to become free either. Front house staff and kitchen staff are amazing and always in a good mood. The last thing I enjoy about this cafe is the diversity of age groups that come to this cafe; and the people you can meet are amazing. It really is a community cafe worth going to , even if it is just for a coffee (which you get free second refill for drip) Dietary restrictions: They use no peanuts in their facility from my understanding . They also have alternative milks such as oat or soy etc. I have seen them being accommodating to those who are plant based as well. Parking: Unless super busy, usually can always find parking just don t park out front as the sign is confusing and may result in a ticket. Wheelchair accessibility: Super easy for those who need accessibility , as well as door buttons to open and close.

My go-to place when I want a relaxing brunch or a coffee meetup spot in Uptown.

Pancakes were great, coffee (flat white) could have been hotter. Will definitely go again.

Prices have gone up significantly and portions gone down. I still think this is a nice cafe and great atmosphere and service but no longer a place for students with limited budgets

If you are looking for a quaint cafe to do work or have a specialty drink and/or allergy friendly foods I highly recommend! Definitely a bit more expensive but well worth it!

A cozy cafe with lots of nice seating -- making it a good study spot. Im not a big fan of their drip coffee -- too dark for my liking. They definitely lean more towards the food/social side of cafes as they offer a number of breakfast/lunch options. The patio is also quite nice.

I highly recommend Seven Shores. There is parking and lots of seating. The food is fresh and the servings are large. I ll definitely be back when I visit Waterloo.

Lovely little cafe tucked away from the busy core of uptown Waterloo. Excellent food, great atmosphere, with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Only reason this isnt a 5 star is because Im a bit of a coffee snob and the coffee here isnt quite up to snuff. Vegetarian options: Always some lovely vegetarian options available.

Sometimes you find a place that is busy all of the time and you realize why. The food is great, the atmosphere is great and they cater to all sorts of dietary needs/restrictions. There literally is something for EVERYONE! And that something, will be completely delicious. I had a gluten free berry muffin that was the fluffiest, most delicious muffin I have ever had. And there was so much choice! Dietary restrictions: Lots of choice - not one token awful thing like you will find at lots of places - here you will find a large selection of things for your dietary preferences or needs/restrictions. Gluten free? No problem. Dairy free? No worries. Vegan/Vegetarian? Fine! But also, you can come with your friends and everyone will have something to enjoy.

I tried to avoid living a subpar review here as Seven Shores has been a place weve enjoyed for years. However, I tried both messaging on instagram and then emailing, but didnt receive a response to either, so Ill share my issue here. Pros: We enjoy the food at Seven Shores. The sandwiches and spring rolls are especially great and full of flavour. Cons/recent issue: On our last visit, one of us ordered the Avocado Toast with a salad. When our food was delivered, there was no salad. We waited in case it was coming, but went back up to the counter to inquiry when it didnt. We were told they hadnt heard us say salad. We explained that the menu says it comes with a side and we had said salad, but they said it didnt and itd be a few dollars extra to get one. Seeing as we had already paid $15 for some avocado toast thinking it included a side, we didnt bother. However, we looked at the menu again on our way out and it clearly says above the mains that theyre served with a side. The avocado toast is listed as a main. Of course the line was long and we didnt want to take up the other customers time or cause a problem during the busy lunch hour, so I thought Id just email when I got home to ask about the misunderstanding as it wasnt worth my time. To this day, Im not sure if the menu was wrong, the server was wrong, or if somehow we misunderstood the menu. Ill add the photo of the menu from the website, so you can decide for yourself. In the end, the food tastes great, but the prices are on the high side. Be prepared to pay $40 for a very small breakfast or lunch. The atmosphere and service used to be better and have more of a friendly vibe. However, our last visits have us constantly looking for a table for our group of two or four people while the 4 person tables are occupied by one person with a drink, working on their computer for an hour or two.

Came in to grab a quick bite and coffee. Service was great, scones are some of the best I ve ever had and coffee was on point. If I lived in Waterloo, this would be my go to coffee shop.

The employees who worked in the afternoon were pretty rude. A guy with long hair ignored any questions, made us wait for quite a long time to take order without giving any explanation. Not at all friendly or welcoming, or maybe they are just rude to people of colour in general. This would be my last visit!

Always bumpin with a diverse crowd of ages and cultures. Oatmeal is delish, coffee is great. Fresh spring rolls are also enjoyable. Vegan options and non-dairy milk available. Vegetarian options: A number of options for veggies. Dietary restrictions: Has vegan options, non-dairy options.

I love Seven Shores. Parking can be tricky later in the day but there are parking lots nearby. Get some exercise! They have a lovely, newly refurbished outdoor patio. Breakfasts are my normal item. The buttermilk pancakes are the best! The omelet and burrito also great. Good coffee too! Vegetarian options: Good options. Dietary restrictions: Customization requests are accepted within reason.

Used to love this lovely little cafe, however the quality of the food for breakfast has dropped recently :( hoping it s a one off occurrence and will visit again, but the food no longer justifies the food. Would probably prefer korner kitchen for breakfast in the future but will give it another chance!

Ambience was great, really cute place and very busy. I was a little disappointed the breakfast I ordered was so bland. The scrambled eggs had no taste and the peameal bacon was average. Hopefully just a one off.

Love this shop. The food and coffee is great, the cafe is really clean and tasteful, and most of all, I really appreciate that they voluntarily compost and dont use single use dishes/cups/flatware as default. 10/10!

First time here. I only tried their coffee which tastes very good. You get one refill for free! Very friendly staff. It was too crowded though and the tables were too close to each other. But overall a good experience and I would definitely go there again. Parking: Street was full I had to drive to end of street to find a spot. There was a parking behind the building but not sure if it is for customers. There were signs tenant parking only.

This is a unique place in Waterloo, both in ambience and food choices. Service is great . However, what sometimes spoils it is that, at times, it resembles a work from home facility. Row of tables , all with people nursing long drained coffee cups , busy on laptops ( I saw one guy with two monitors ! ) . It can be challenging to find a table for lunch . Perhaps a time limit should be posted and perhaps these people could be gently reminded that their table will be needed for paying customers

My daughter and I recently visited for breakfast and had a wonderful time. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was incredible. We both had bagels with our meals and they were clearly handmade and so light and delicious, the drinks were excellent, and the two different cookies we tried (ginger cookie and sunflower butter m&m cookie) were some of the best cookies I ve ever had. We will definitely be back many times!

This is a cooperatively run restaurant, owned by several families. They care about the food they serve, the way they serve it and the space. All is excellent. The outside area where we ate is creatively laid out with tables and umbrellas set among trees. You order your food inside and they bring it to you. Staff are friendly and the food is excellent! Will certainly return.

The staff here are so sweet. My friend and I are both vegetarian and we don t eat ham, and I accidentally ordered the breakfast burrito, which has ham in it. I forgot to ask them to take it out, and they were so kind and redid both of them at no extra charge. Such sweet employees and amazing food! Definitely recommend

I feel like a boomer here, but in a good way

Im going to be honest, I was so underwhelmed with my recent visit and didnt want to write this review. We got two sandwiches and two lemonades for lunch and it came to $42. The sandwiches were very basic - my panini was really bland and my partners club sandwich was cold and just basic deli meat. We ordered kettle chips as a side, but what we got were basic, stale, maybe BBQ flavoured? chips that we both left unfinished. Portions were small considering the price. Food took quite a while. Weve been before and its been hit or miss. I do like the coffee, but not sure I get the hype of this place. Lots of people seem to love it, but wanted to offer my perspective as well for people considering. I hope it was just an off day.

A cappuccino and a latte, served with no joy by a bored barista, but the cappuccino was smaller than the latte. The cookie was soft but maybe too sweet. Inside was quiet like a library with people on their laptops, so we went out to the patio, which was a bit livelier - people were talking. I want a coffee shop that isnt a big franchise place and I have heard people talking about Seven Shores but overall I wasnt impressed!!

Cozy Cafe off the main strip. My group enjoyed their meals: grilled cheese, parfait, egg sandwich and French toast (daily special). Coffee was good and strong. Would recommend if yu are looking for a laid back option. Staff was friendly. This spot also has a decent size patio that is shaded. Vegetarian options: Most options were vegetarian. Kid-friendliness: They had a corner off to the side with a play nook and books

Havent tried the food, but I know they bake their goods on-site, so they re sure to be fresh. Very friendly and approachable staff! Warm and cozy atmosphere with lots of natural sunlight. Recommend their teas

I really enjoyed this place! I came at 10 on a Friday and it was absolutely packed but worth the wait. There was plenty of places to sit with a nice patio in the front. The scones are to die for. Definitely recommend and I will be back again!

Service slow but food was great

Im a frequent visitor. Over all happy customer. However Im seeing a decline. The last three take out orders of mine were soggy, sloppy messes. Three different sandwiches, all the same issue. Just look at this. I dont know how anyone manages to put this much mayo on a sandwich. Its an absolute mess, and it overpowers the flavors and ruins the texture. I have to put down paper towels just to sop it up. I should be able to eat a sandwich without having to constantly clean mayo off of my hands. The sandwich falls apart because everything slips out. I cant imagine anyone eating this and thinking its awesome. Its gross. I cant bring myself to finish it. Worse in real life than it looks like in this photo. When paying a premium for quality food I expect just that. Im annoyed that Im even writing this review. I just want to be happy customer who feels good from having a quality meal rather than fast food. Please do better.

I really enjoy their coffee and food, I usually go for the breakfast bagel or the 7-layer dip and chips...yum! While its a small space, the layout is very convenient and its super cozy. They also have outdoor seating, great for warmer weather!

The homemade Oatmeal is out of the world.. creamy and filled with fresh ingredients.. good coffee ! Reasonably priced and parking was easy

I love this coffee spot. Great vibes, and a good place to work on your computer while having a good coffee. The only two things I would say: it would be if they could have a vegan breakfast option displayed (that is not oatmeal or a bake good) and that they could put some kind of ventilation system as I always leave with food smell.

Nice place for coffee lovers

There is a constant smell in the place. The smell is all over you when you spend more than a minute in the cafe. They need better (if they have any) ventilation. [Update] 2nd time recently - Internet is down today again, which blocks their payment system. Go there if you carry cash with you.

What?! No way!! First time visit impressed me. Bustling with people inside. Lots of seating, good food. Quality local ingredients and socially conscious business model. I had the breakfast burritos, which was a decent size and delicious. Coffee was excellent without being froufrou. Ill be back.

Im so happy we have Seven Shores café in our uptown! It has the most beautiful interior that smells of wood, in addition to the aroma of delicious coffee and food. The staff is friendly, there are plenty of comfortable seating options, the music selection is absolutely lovely, the coffee and scones are delicious. The displayed art also looks great on the walls, and they have an incredible variety of items on the menu. Dont miss their cardamom latte or the lavender blueberry scone! My lavender latte did not taste like lavender, so Im not sure I would recommend that. Seven Shores is the perfect spot for a nice breakfast with friends or just working with a laptop. I love, love, love Seven Shores and will definitely be back many more times! Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian and vegan options among the sweet treats and the foods.

Good place for espresso beverages. Cafe latte was ok, the milk was not as rich and thick, yet the overall experience was good. Barista and staff are very friendly and large seating area. They have outdoors as well.

Best play to study in UW, get refills of the house coffee

I quite enjoyed this homey establishment during my sole visit. I visited right when the place opened at 7 am on a weekday, so I cant speak to how it operates when busy, but i found the service to be very friendly, the coffee was quite tasty, and my food was delicious and prepared very quick. As i was just looking for something to eat very fast that morning, I was particularly happy about being able to go there, order and eat all within 20-25 minutes. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Visiting from out of town and went here on family recommendation and really really enjoyed it. We each got something different- an omelet, a wrap, and a breakfast sandwich- and they were all really good. I had a medium roast drip coffee that was very good- flavourful and not bitter. The place is popular so you may have to wait for a place to sit. There s a cute corner for little ones to entertain themselves playing with a toy kitchen. We ll come back when we re in the area!
