This is by far the Best Pits place I have ever been. Extremely fresh. $1-2 dollars cheaper than other pits places, and much bigger than anywhere else. I go here every time I am in Waterloo. Parking: I have never had trouble getting a parking spot here.

Amazing Pitas and the grilled cheese with bacon was great.

Unfortunately, the buffalo chicken poutine wasn t what I was expecting. the chicken didn t taste great to me. It tasted like it was really from frozen. Bad taste and aftertaste. Although I do like their pita sandwiches . I would still go back and try other things . But the poutine wasn t great .

The food is incredible. My first bite of the Mounties Grilled Cheese sandwich almost made me cry - it was that good.

I have been going to Johnnys for years. The one thing I have always liked is the consistency of the food and flavors and there are always great people behind the counter. Every item on the menu is delicious and a lot of different options for all tastes. My favourite things are the bombastic poutine and the crispy chicken Pita. Would recommend this place as its been up and running since before I was in college and survived covid which I believe gives a good indication of how good Johnny Frescos really is.

Great service and vast selection of wonderful food. Amazing made-in-house burgers, stuffed delicious pitas, salads, poutine, cookies and more. And right next to a dairy queen so you can get a great dessert afterwards as well. Though if you like cheesecake, they serve a delicious one.

Ordered 2 pitas. Got basically no toppings in them, and the toppings I did get I didnt asked for. Been coming for a long time and this really soured my entire evening. Waste of 25$. Kinda wish I didnt tip to be honest.

If you want to pay way over price for a subpar burger and wait a ridiculous amount of time for it, go here. Honestly I have NEVER seen staff move SO slowly in a kitchen. I have worked in several and watching them drove me mad. It was literally like 10 mins AFTER I placed my order that they eventually threw my burger on the grill, with absolutely no hustle at all. There were like 5 or more staff, most of which eventually disappeared into the back while there were about 6 people waiting for their orders. Guys... this was just sad. I definitely wont be coming here again.

Seriously good price to value ratio. $12 for 2 meals worth of food with plenty of meat. Found that I could get toppings on poutine too which is a game changer! Some grilled onions and peppers go very well. The chicken poutine sauce has something interesting to it, a bit of a fun flavor. Converted to a fan Vegetarian options: Wouldnt recommend their falafels, friend has acid reflux after those. Something about the recipe is different, perhaps too much baking powder?

I moved to kitchener/ waterloo about 4 years ago and ever since my first food purchase at Johnnys I have NOT been disappointed... not once!! My goto is the bacon cheese burger but now the crispy chicken Caesar wrap is 10/10

Terrible value for mediocre chicken parm sandwich. $12 for just a sandwich! How can anyone afford to eat out at these prices! Ripoff! I wont be going back.

I have been going to Johnny s for a long time and they are amazing! Their food is top quality. Your food is made fresh every time, so there is a little bit of a wait. I prefer to get takeout simply because it s a smaller store and often very busy, but the food is well worth it. Highly recommend!

Im a regular and find it to be good food for a reasonable price. If you are going during a busy period (lunch/dinner hours) its fastest to order ahead and pick-up. Vegetarian options: Decent selection of fresh veggies and falafel options available. Parking: Its a small lot, but theres pretty much always a space available. Kid-friendliness: Food is kid friendly, and custom toppings by default is great for pleasing picky eaters.

Great burgers and fries. It s down the street from my son s place, so we stopped in on the way home. Great juicy lamb burger. Awesome fries. And the Pop Shoppe drinks were a blast from the past for me. My son had a Lord of the Rings burger and onion rings. Definitely, will be returning. Lots of burger types and poutine types. I m sure it will take a while to explore the menu. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Fresh taste

Food was inedible. The burger was over cooked with a tire like texture and burnt flavour, seemed like it was probably cooked from frozen and not thawed all the way. We didn t receive our order of fries and the poutine we got had fries that were cold and raw. Our order cost $40 and we had to throw it away.

I get the daily specials pita that comes with a pop. Also tried their poutine and fries which were really tasty. Good portion size for the price. The food is always fresh and satisfies my taste buds. Would recommend it. :)

A really great place that looks at and get ur drinks as well

Repeat customer for 10 years. Large portion sizes so youll have food to go, their burgers are very tasty, pitas are flavourful. Around dinner time it does get busy, so be prepared to wait a little bit, but know that your order is being made fresh and not sitting under a heat lamp.

This is a classic independent fast food restaurant with a vast and unique menu. If you like poutine, this place has some of the best in the city. Not fresh cut fries but the fries stay crispy no after what type of poutine you order. I personally recommend the Ultimate Poutine.

The atmosphere is good for a burger joint. Nothing fancy. A place to sit. Go get your own meal etc. They arent looking for tips so ... Great value as well. If youve not been, go. If youve been, youve been many times. Vegetarian options: They seem to have plenty. I like meat so eating what food eats isnt my thing but they look like a very vegan friendly place. Parking: They share a lot with Dairy Queen so its tight sometimes with only one exit/ entrance. Kid-friendliness: Colorful and fun but if youre looking for crayons youre out of luck. Wheelchair accessibility: Its accessible. No ramps, they arent needed but its a tight place for a wheelchair.

Whatever you want to eat they probably have. The place has a great atmosphere, the service is always fast and the food is always fresh and definitely try their sauces.

Great variety of food, good portions on my sandwich. I forget the name of it but was a grilled cheese sandwich with pameal bacon and fried egg on 7 grain thick toast. That with onion rings, including tax, came to $19+. Kid-friendliness: Casual atmosphere, stools and chairs.

I think Ive come here for the last time. Ive ordered ahead for pickup multiple times - always asking them how long it will be - and without fail, I always end up waiting 15 minutes on top of the time they quoted me. The food isnt cheap, and its nowhere near as good as youd expect at those prices. The burgers are like hockey pucks, dried out and rubbery. There are much better places to get a burger around town.

Their meals are super filling and a great healthy alternative to fast food. They even accomodate for my celiac and make a pita in a bowl for me! The staff are very friendly and approachable and the food is always top tier. Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options! Dietary restrictions: For celiac just ask for a pita in a bowl without the pita. Parking: Parking lot is shared between them and Dairy Queen so it can get busy but spots are always becoming available just wait a few mins Kid-friendliness: Lots of options for picky kids

Swing through while in town. They have a pretty extensive menu and all the poutine toppings one could ask for. I ordered an original poutine, and it came out just as expected, fries were hot, cheese was gooey and plentiful, and there was enough gravy to get all the way down. My wife ordered a pita and she really enjoyed it, and has since been talking about wanting to go back for another. The staff were super friendly and the restaurant was clean. Would definitely swing by again!

Im vegetarian and I love the veggie patty that they have here!! Its so good!!

The burger I got was pretty good, I had no complaints with it and even with a single patty it was large and filling. I got a chocolate chip cookie and it was warm and melty in the bag, really good but I felt a tiny overbaked. The poutine was pretty bad, the bag was soaked and smelled, the cheese curds were a little skunky and the fries were dry and just okay but I did like the beef gravy, I dont recommend it (I didnt finish it which is not a good sign). They are pricey, like a sit down restaurant or even Five Guys. Something I ate here rotted my stomach though and I dont think Id go again.

We came from London for business seen Johnny Frescos n wondered what this place was like so we decided to try it out n we were extremely satisfied I wish he had a location in London hands down some of the best food ever so much I m taking some back to London to share with my wife thank you Johnny Frescos I ll be back you better believe it

Johnny Frescos is simply amazing from wraps, Burgers and a variety of poutines. This place is your one stop grub shop. Its located right next to a DQ so yours healthy then indulge a little with desert. Ive eaten at, Johnny Fresco many times and have never been disappointed.

There is a variety of choices of good, nutritious food at a fair price. I have enjoyed every eating experience over the many years this business has been operating. It is a fast food business with clean indoor seating for those who are on-the-move, but takeout works. Parking: There are 2 businesses operating out of this location, and the other business is ice cream products for takeout only or sit in your car. I have never found parking availability an issue. Wheelchair accessibility: There are two sets of doors at sidewalk level and I didnt notice whether there were automatic door openers.

A pretty average place for your average student. From burgers and fries, to pitas and falafel, there s a pretty decent variety of items. You can even get a simple grilled cheese, it s nice for a quick craving. The quality though has a bit to be desired. Don t come here expecting a good meal, it s pretty average, and even in tasting you know that much of it is frozen food. My biggest qualm however is the pricing. Now I know that businesses need to make money, but when your audience is a bunch of broke and barely making it kids from the college and residencies across the block, you d think they d be catered to in some way. If a McDonald s or Burger King ever opened up around this block, this place would be over. The only reason Wendy s hasn t is because that location is unkept and unsanitary. Overall, again average. For example, you can get a better poutine for the same price about a 15-20 minute walk away. This place is really just convenience, not something to seek out.

The burgers and poutines here are so good that it feels like they are prepared by a nice family member or a good friend to me! The ingredients are fresh and everything is very carefully matched together to maximize the comfort food joy in every bite. I cant believe it took me more than four years to discover this gold in town. In my opinion, the Poutine Supreme and Mamas Poutine are probably the best fast-foods and even two of the best creations of humankind on earth! Poutine Supreme is better than burgers and better than poutine. Mamas Poutine is better than poutine and better than... never mind . But if you decide to give it a try, definitely top it with mushrooms as well.

Excellent value for $$ at Johnny Frescos. The burger is among the best in the region - rivaling Ethels - but at a fraction of the price. Everything is prepared to order by a pleasant staff. The owner, Johnny, is always there as well ensuring the operation is running smoothly. If youre looking for delicious, high quality take out (compared to the big chains) at a very reasonable price, Johnny Frescos is the place to go. Highly recommended.

I go to JF about once per week. Staff is courteous and fast. Food is excellent - big wraps with great ingredients. Once in a while do a poutine, they are massive and delicious. A staple for quick lunches in KW.

Best veggy burger in Waterloo Region. Not much in the way of seating or scenery though, so make your order to go. Vegetarian options: I visit Johnny Fresco only for the veggy burger, but there are a few other vegetarian options on the menu.

Food is absolutely awesome every time, and made from scratch as far as I can tell. The issue with that is that waiting in line for your food can take up to 20-30 minutes and theyre always bloody busy. Dont come here in a rush, but do come here.

Cheeseburger and fries are great. I ve been a few times and have only gotten that. If you re craving a homemade-style burger this is definitely the spot to go. It s pretty filling with the combo as well and I like how you can choose the toppings you d like.
