Terrible manager. Family order placed 740 pm on The Works website. Request for delivery to local hotel. 4 Door dash drivers showed up at restaurant and all were turned away. Called restaurant at 910 asking about our order. Manager called back at 915. Said it s a Door Dash issue and refunded our order. No offer to continue the order, use another delivery service or compensate at all. Basically he said. Sorry it didn t work out, have a nice night. That s it. I drove to restaurant at 930. An employee called the same manager. For our inconvenience he offered to compensate us with 3 free beverages. Wow. An incredible $10 worth of savings on 3 drinks.

Had an amazing experience at this restaurant! Went with 8 friends near closing time, and everything was perfect. The Bang Bang Broccoli is a must-try! The server was excellent, the place was clean, and the ambiance was great. Highly recommend!

Terrible terrible terrible. The burger I got from this place was not only gross, but made me feel like a piece of garbage. I ve never had food make me feel so bad in my life. Shut this place down

The food was amazing! Fresh and plenty for the money. The owner is super friendly and honest. He goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable and enjoying your meal. One server was awesome. The whole experience was better than we expected. We will definitely be going back.

Go somewhere else! I do not recommend this restaurant unless you like eating overpriced socks. We had to wait over 45 minutes for our food when the restaurant wasnt terribly busy. The wait time isnt the worst, but when our burgers did come out they were EXTREMELY dry. It was like eating a sock. It was hard to swallow at times. We had asked for extra beach house sauce on the side and could tell that one of them was mostly mayo, which sucks when you pay extra for it. We will not be coming back to this chain.

We went for a meal Saturday afternoon and were immediately put off by the personal hygiene of the lone service staff, his body order was such that we couldnt enjoy our meal. Keep in mind there are better places to eat across the street, well keep that in mind next time and every time after that. im surprised at the amount of times you respond to comments when im sure, like me, these people emailed you and complained BUT you never responded to them. it takes a negative comment for you to pretend to be concerned. there are so many other good restaurants in the local area, i would be concerned if i were you.

The service was phenomenal, the owner is amazing made our experience the best. I highly recommend for anyone, especially those with children, very accommodating. Went out of way to ensure our needs were met, and that of my granddaughter.

Realized the Kitchener location had closed so decided to take the short drive to the Waterloo location. It was so worth it!! The atmosphere was great and the service was impeccable. Kudos to the owner for holding it down. Food was hot and extremely enjoyable. Family friendly inviting space and accommodating when needed. We will be back again. Thank you for making our experience that much more memorable!!

Took my order on Uber Eats at 8:40, said they were making my order until 9:57 when it should have been delivered at 9:10. I waited over an hour and 4 drivers came by and it was still not ready. Charged me anyways and no refund issued. While I do like the food, I will most definitely not be back ever.

Worst Service Award I was seated and the server said he would be back with my coffee and to take my order. Ten minutes later I left, apparently I was not going to receive my coffee or my lunch before I had to return to work. Meanwhile everyone else was served by another server. So disappointed and it wasnt even busy. 10 patrons or less.

Had absolutely no complaints about this joint! I always get their Tragically Poutine and its great everytime. Ive also had their Wrecking Balls before and those are SO GOOD. Highly reccomend.

Got the elk burger. It was my first time trying elk. It was pretty solid. Id rate it as better than beef, worse than chicken. Overall, the burger was pretty good and worth the cost. The fries were nothing to write home about.

It was so hot in here, the wait staff seemed bottlenecked by the kitchen. Food took forever. However, the three wait staff were polite and friendly. Offered us free onion rings for the long wait. Low quality food with high price! We used to go this branch in recent years and it was always okay but not this time. The quality was obviusly low compared to the past while the prices went up. The vacant tables were also an evidence for this change. Food

Called ahead for a party of five, with a child. Sat, drink order in, and the beer came warm with a glass full of ice and a straw. Put in food order, waited 40 minutes for food to arrive lukewarm, kids meal served last. Watched food delivery orders take priority that whole time. Server offered a free app, also lukewarm, was served with sauce that seems to have been out for hours. Stay away, not worth the price.

Waiting almost an hour for food with only 2 other tables 1 already eating, food was room temperature nothing was warm aside from the beer that was severed. Would not recommend this place at all

We ve ordered a number of times through delivery services. They just cannot get the order right. Forget salad dressings, dipping sauces, toppings etc. it s very frustrating.

Walked in 5:30 PM on a Tuesday. 3 tables full with one of them eating. Ordered almost immediately, waited close to 90 minutes before giving up and paying for the one appetizer and drink we had besides waters. Server seemed terrified and rarely if ever came over to explain the situation. Roughly 75 minutes into the ordeal they brought some complimentary onion rings over, but it was too little too late. We had to leave, and went to The Burger Priest instead. Burger priest was amazing and fast, excellent food. Go there instead. You can do a lot of things with 90 minutes these days, don t spend those minutes here. This was a milestone birthday, and the experience for the birthday person was definitely negatively impacted by this bad situation. I think this restaurant is maybe faultering it seemed like it at least. Don t go here.

The Works is a restaurant you must visit! Excellent service, delicious food, and a phenomenal atmosphere. A group of us had finished the 4th Ruhi Book in the main sequence and wanted to celebrate with another group of friends studying alongside us. We can all confidently say that we will come back because this is the place to be to be with friends and become closer. I encourage anyone who is studying the Ruhi Institute or anything else to come here and kick back after an intense study session. Shoutout to our waitress Victoria. She was amazing and felt a part of our group. She was so kind and was clearly working so hard with a radiant smile on her face. Today is a day that the 7 of us will always remember thanks to The Works.

We had our small team Christmas party here last night. It was perfect, we went a bit later and had a glorious burger and poutine feast. Try try the Obi Wan Kobe and Bacon wrapped Mac and Cheese balls. Delicious. The staff are friendly and down to earth. Love this place and I try to visit when Im in Uptown Waterloo.

Absolutely the best burgers! This has been our go to place for burgers for years, and they did not disappoint. Fries are awesome! Huge portions, with TONS of toppings. The wait staff/host we had was so nice and was by the table several times.

I had a previously bad experience at the Pickering location and this one wasnt different unfortunately. The wait times were very long, cold but burnt burgers and the drinks and coffee were very watery. The only thing I did enjoy was the sweet potato fries. I think overall the franchise just isnt that great expecially at the expensive price point. Giving two stars because the fries and our waitress was very nice

I come here with my partner all the time! We loveee the burgers. Today Grewal served us and was super kind! We could tell from the moment he greeted us that he cared about the quality of service! Very nice lad, will come back because the burgers are so good. My favourite is the vegetarian burger with VEGAN bacon SOOO GOOOD. I m not even vegetarian (anymore) but that s still my favourite.

If I could give less than one star, I would. We haven t been to the works for a while and we re excited to go. When seated, the tables were SO sticky. We asked our waitress to wipe the table and her response was the disinfectant reacts with the wood finish and all the tables are sticky . Clearly every piece of filth was sticking to the tables and the floors!!! We should have left right then. The restaurant was half full. Our 2 person order took over an hour to arrive. The burger was cold, and so over cooked it was dry and like eating cardboard. They forgot the the arugula and goat cheese on one speciality burger and when they brought it back, the arugula was wilted and clearly from the bottom of the barrel. After paying over $65 for two hamburgers (no booze) and a tip regardless, I came home and was not well enough to enjoy the rest of the evening. Definitely, not the restaurant I remembered! Will not be back.

Me and a couple of friends went here. Unique place to hangout. Feels like you re in a garage and having quality, scrumptious food. Great service and the waitress that served us was helpful and amazing. Saw lots of young friends and acquaintances hanging out here. Nice dine in place. Would certainly go again as the prices are pretty reasonable. I had the Nachos Average Poutine (NAP). Pictures included. I told the waitress that I d like to take a NAP . Lol. One of their favorites. It was delicious. It was served in a metal bucket - I love it. My friends were surprised. I loved the unique presentation. Highly recommend. Go with some friends. Tower onion rings were also tasty. You ll love it.

Today was the first day in a year since weve eaten here because the service and food was horrible compared to what this establishment used to be. Today on our first day back and my wife explicitly said no bacon on her burger and ceasar salad and yet both had bacon. We ended up returning her food and left. We will not be comming back to give this place a 3rd chance.

Went in for dinner on Saturday night. It was slow in the restaurant, about three tables, and still the service was slow. The food was alright but way below the expectation at this price point.

The food I got was the pulled pork burger with poutine, and a side of dip for the group of three, and the food was very filling and it made me go into labour. However, that labour was delayed as the server took very long to get to our table to take our order/bring out the food, despite there being one other table being served an hour before closing. I definitely recommend any of their signature burgers through, but upgrading to a poutine made it very hard to finish both the burger and poutine.

I have been to 2 different locations where I ordered the new pulled pork sandwich. I thought the first experience was a fluke so I tried to get the same burger with pulled pork here and can confirm it is just how they do this burger. I was expecting pulled pork on top of the burger however it was tough chunks of pork with pork fat. I was highly disappointed in this burger. My server was wonderfully understanding and offered to replace it with a different burger. The Tragically Maple burger on the other hand is freaking fantastic! The difference in taste and quality between the two burgers was night and day! If you have to use the washroom at this location it might be wise to use the buddy system. The bathroom is through a door, down a steep staircase, through another door where you walk past a set of French doors and have the option of two short corridors where the two different washrooms are located. It definitely made me feel uneasy to the point where I wrote my partner to let them know the situation and to come looking for me if I didnt respond. (Thankfully cell service worked down there). I was glad to have gone during the day! Parking: I found free parking down the street however it is a very busy part of town and many of the street parking spots have a time limit.

Food wasnt as good as it was before, I dont know if the managing has changed or the ownership but the food overall, not great. I got the pulled pork burger, and you could taste that it wasnt worth those 22 dollars. Moreover, the gentleman that served, the rudest that you can meet out there. I went the Tuesday that passed us with 2 of my friends. We asked for plates, because we had got the onion rings and we didnt want to make a mess. He simply said that usually customers just eat it from the plate. We just wanted a plate, I dont think it is hard to go and grab them. Anyways, he comes back with 3 small mixing bowls. I guess they run out plates. And last think would be about the picture below. My friend asked the server how often you clean the bottles of ketchup, he said everyday. You could see the bottle has some dust and some paper on the edge. The wasnt the issue though. The issue was that the server, did not apologize for it, he replied by saying they clean them everyday and trying to excuse himself by saying, probably a customer did it. After our small argument, he didnt say anything, just ran to the back in the kicthen. This was a horrible experience and bad customer service. From the beginning the time we sat down, you could feel from his answer and how he was talking to us, that it would not been a great night. Just answering with sarcasm and being rude to us. Hopefully management will do something for this, because the traffic at this location has died a lot, and its not a surprise after that night.

I always enjoyed the Works in Kitchener but its looking quite tired and was not particularly clean on this visit. The service was excellent but the food was not as I recall it from earlier visits.

Went again last night with two friends. We sat out on the patio (which was quieter - I find the music a little loud for conversation here). I had a FREE burger because of my birthday. That is straight up awesome I tell you what. I got the Taste of Heaven, the most expensive burger here (unless that $420 burger is legit) and it was pretty good! We didn t have to wait long either! Hi. I am super disappointed. My partner and I ordered delivery of burgers that were over $25 each. They came soggy. They came without sauce or ketchup and mustard. The three ringer binder burger came without the onion rings in its name. Imagine our want for delicious burgers and getting cold burgers and fries. Soggy buns... I do not recommend these burgers.

The burger I ordered was medium rare on the inside and burnt on the outside. Man cave burger not worth the 22 dollars and feeling like I was going to get food poising.

We ordered through UberEats at 8:30pm when they closed at 9pm, so take this with a grain of salt (we got the order in under 25 minutes) but the burger was overly charred on the outside, almost burned) and *very* well done (ie: dry) the fries were soggy, and the poutine looked as if it had chunks of mozza in it rather than cheese curds. Was hard to tell as they were small and not that many. Everything tasted good enough, though, and we did place the order 30 minutes before closing. Not terrible, but not the quality we were accustomed to when The Works was a small 2-3 store chain in Otttawa 18-20 years ago.

We were just walking by, checking out the area and saw The Works. Decided to go in just to try it out, thinking this is gonna break bank a lil bit. We ordered an orange juice and a lemonade, and we got two huge pitchers full of the drinks (almost 500ml each). We also ordered the Nacho regular Poutine, and got it in a bucket . The quantity was massive. We loved it, the taste was really good too. We paid around 30$ (tax & tip included). Definitely will be going back to try some burgers next time.

My husband and I visited The Works for the first time last night. I ve been hesitant to try The Works after hearing really bad reviews from people I know about how long it took to get their food. But I had a gift card and we decided to finally visit. Our server was friendly, attentive and helpful. The vibe of the place was good - I was expecting more of a self serve place but this was licensed sit down restaurant. Our Tragically Maple burgers were good (the maple bacon was the best part) but the price was excessive. For a $24 burger I expect an amazing smash burger. This burger patty was fine. The additional $4 for just okay onion rings (instead of fries, KD, broccoli or potato chips) felt like a money grab. We finally tried The Works but we both much prefer Burgers Priest.

I like the atmosphere of this place. The food is a little expensive but the portions are quite nice (especially the poutine, highly recommend the poutine.) We did have a questionable experience with the chicken sandwhiches; it was a very dry for some reason, and there were parts of the chicken that were so hard I felt like it was bone, but I feel like that may be because we made a very large order there very close to closing on a weekday. Beef burgers and poutine were delicious though. We did get a free birthday sprinkle shake since we had someone celebrating their birthday, that was very nice as well.

The tower-o-rings are good and the sauce really adds to them. The special queso loco fries were alright. The milk shakes never disappoint and are fun to mix and match flavours.

I really like this place. It was introduced to me by my friends way back in 2019. Till date this is my best place for vegetarian burgers. Vegetarian options: Love their veg options. Best burger place in the town.

My group of 5 went to the works on Sunday and had an amazing experience. There are a ton of menu options and it is easy to customize your meal. All of the food we had tasted great, arrived quickly, and were big portions. Our server Katie was wonderful, she was friendly, attentive, and knowledge about the menu. There is something for everyone at The Works, and it s good value for your money. Best burger I ve had in Waterloo so far, can t wait to go back!

We visited this restaurant pre-COVID and we werent overly impressed at the time. Last night, at the suggestion of a family member, we thought wed try it again. What a change. The food was fresh, well cooked, and delicious. Our family of four each had a different burger and everyone enjoyed the food. I have to admit its up there in price for a burger place, but was a nice change. Id put it on my recommended list.

Service was decent, but the burger and toppings were overcooked and the bathroom was worse than most of those in NYC subway stations.

They were out of mushrooms which was disappointing to one in our group. Though supply chain issues are not unexpected during these times.

wagyu was average and bland. brioche was a bit stale. not the kind of food you expect for the price range.

I ordered the Wagyu beef burger which turned out to be very dry. It seemed like they reheated the patty. The place was busy and they were understaffed. The service was slow because of that. Overall it was pretty bad experience and wouldnt go there again but the ambiance was good.

First, they make a great Caesar with cool stuff like an onion ring so its almost an appetizer. Then the burgers were lovely, even the lamb burger was juicy (they tend to be dry).

They make fantastic burgers but youre looking at $20 for a burger and fries.

Ok burgers. For every burger we tried the malibu melt and a fried chicken burger, I wished the meat was way more juicy. They have a wide and interesting selection and combinations but I think they re missing the essence of a basic good burger. There wasn t anything that jumps out to me and I struggled to finish my burger. Atmosphere wise, I d also have expected a better environment for the price point. The table and floors were pretty sticky for a $25+ meal. Pretty interesting concept and hip vibes.

Do you REALLY take food allergies seriously?! Person in our group has severe peanut/tree nut allergy. Spoke to cook who says Cant guarantee. Food comes from all over. No way of knowing about cross contamination that may have occurred. Later, we call again as someone in our group is surprised at this answer. This is 2022. Food allergies are COMMON and BEING UNDERSTOOD and ACCOMMODATED in most places. Hostess says Yes, come and eat here. We take allergies seriously. Shocking difference in answers. We decided the cook was probably telling the truth.

The food is always tasty here but last night even though it wasnt very busy the service was quite slow to get our order taken & get our bill when done. The food is also pricy for essentially a burger and fries with a few unique toppings depending on what you get.

Got a mushroom burger which didnt have much flavor and was a bit greasy. Onion rings were better but not great. Small selection of beers.

The service and staff here are great! Not to mention the lunch specials that run 11am-3pm: a burger, side and drink for about $13 is pretty good.

Good size burger and fries combo. Wide variety of burgers and toppings so Im sure there is one for everyone. Staff was nice and friendly.

Came alone to eat arrived before another table of three came in a few minutes later. My order went tot the kitchen before the table of three and yet their food comes and they are half done before I decide to just leave. Over 30 minutes wait and no food would not recommend

We ordered lunch for takeout, and I arrived at the time the order was supposed to be ready for pickup. They did not receive the order until I arrived (the pickup time). The manager did not seem to understand or acknowledge that there was an issue with their system. So very likely this issue will continue as they dont seem to get it and dont mind wasting peoples time waiting or their order to be made while they wait... Dont worry the system still allows for them to receive their tip though!

Terrible, slow, service. Flies were everywhere harassing me, so I couldnt even begin to enjoy my food. And 20+ dollars for a pretty normal burger is absurd. I wont be back.

Dont order take-out wagyu beef is my main complaint. The food all tasted good, but my wagyu Taste Of Heaven patty was overcooked, again. It wasnt unedible; if it was a regular beef patty I probably wouldnt care too much. It was dry, but tasted fine. Its the fact that wagyu is well known for its juiciness, and its best eaten at the VERY least medium-rare. Its not the fist time either. I was really hoping the first time was a fluke months back, but alas. I say take-out specifically because last time I ate-in (pre pandemic so a while back) and had Taste of Heaven it was super good! We arrived to pick it up as it was getting packed so its not like we took too long. Ill still keep ordering from them for sure, the rings were great and my mom and sisters was great, and I might try the same burger next time I eat in, but Im definitely not ordering it again for take-out.

Great service, great menu, all around great burger place to eat at in waterloo.

The waiter was nice but he disappeared after we had the burger. The burger was cold and the patty was not so hot either. The fries are really salty. These things are considered minor against the time we spent here. The burgers took 50 minutes to arrive. The bill took another 20 minutes? The seats are not even full. To print the bills? Never again. McDonald is better than this $22 Heaven burger.

An awesome experience! Went here twice for group parties. The food is just delicious, with many options to choose from. The waitress Natalia is really sweet! Recommended highly! Try the onion rings with chipotle sauce, and lite beer. The best combination!

Service was nice but almost a little too nice by asking us if we were okay with everything every 5-10 minutes, and was pretty slow for us being the only people in the restaurant. The food was pretty good but one of the most confusing menus Ive ever read.

Kid-friendliness: not exactly kid friendliness bt the girl whom i ordered for takeout was rude we asked for normal glass of water she showed attitude in bringing that she didn t know how to talk nicely

Love the Tragically Maple burger!! The staff are so friendly and the Owner and Manager was very quick and eager to rectify an issue with a previous order of mine. Great atmosphere and amazing grub. If you re really hungry, get the tower of rings as an app!

Service was incredibly slow for a very average overpriced burger that was honestly a bit dry. Condiments need to do a lot of work. Not the worst place to go, but you can do better.
