Excellent food and halal too ! A rare find

Service was excellent but the food was terrible. Everything is store bought and deep fried. Nothing looked appealing and everything was overcooked.

Really really good food!

I had another great experience at Exclamation over the weekend. The bento box was great value, and their chicken katsu is delicious as ever. The family who runs this place is very kind and does a great job, so Im happy to keep spending my money here.

Had the ramen and it was one of the best in the KW region. Would highly recommend trying this place out.

Went with my wife for a date night tonight. Saw this place on Google and was so happy we chose to go here! Sadly theyre closing for a renovation for a month, since we want to go back already. The woman who served us were guessing is the owner and was so friendly and helpful. Its a family run restaurant which also just made it feel so much more homely for a night out. The food was awesome, definitely get the custard buns! We ordered 1 order of them then went and added two more they were so good.

Ordered the Gyoza, takoyaki, and chicken katsu don. The Takoyaki is definitely good, compared to other places. Would come again and order it. The chicken katsu don is also good and filling. Would order it again as well. The Gyoza was ok, could be improved. Looked freezer burnt and tasted dry inside. You order your meal online at your table and the server brings out your meal. Service is super fast, along with the food, it came out fast. Server was super nice!

The ramen here was a pleasant surprise! Having worked in Japanese-run ramen places, I was happy to taste the broth that gives other places a run for their money! Food here was reasonably priced. Thanks!

Best ramen in KW! The broth was so flavourful, good portions. The Chicken Katsu was amazing - delicious and juicy chicken. Gyoza was very good. Very well priced.

I tried this place for the first time on a friends recommendation and ordered the Chicken Katsu Donburi and it was AMAZING. It was delicious and so fresh and crispy and the rice and sauces and seasoning was *chefs kiss*. The lady who made our food and served us was also really sweet. Highly recommend !!

Honestly, the nicest and friendliest staff I have ever encountered. Food is delicious and the artistic atmosphere and presentation is fantastic.

I cant comment on the food because we didnt last that long. The restaurant was filthy; dirty tables, floors and cutlery. The chairs were all broken and duct taped together and the floor was covered in garbage. If the front of house is this dirty, I can only imagine the kitchen. This place gives me Kitchen Nightmare vibes.

Exclamation is our go-to place for ramen (and gyoza!!). The owner, Jocelyn, is truly one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. She works incredibly hard, and no matter how challenging her day has been, she is always smiling and kind. Ive seen the comments about the smaller portion sizes, but I find them to be just right and in line with the pricing. I highly recommend Exclamation for the food and the service!

I ve had the cod multiple times and it comes out hot and fresh, perfectly crispy and tender! I m a big fan and will be getting it again I also got the custard buns which were good, but probably wouldn t get again unless it was a special occasion. In total I spent $28.57 (tax and tip included) on those two items, which is a little pricey for just one person. The server is very friendly and smiley!

I ve been going here every so often for a year now, and the food has consistently gotten better each time. I just ordered the pork belly ramen, and it was delicious! A nice family restaurant that s perfect for a bad day (or any day really)

My family shared the beef gyoza, chicken gyoza, pork bao, katzu chicken, a bento tray, rice, & spring rolls, cheese wonton, & several kinds of ramen. Started with flowering tea. Ended with fried ice cream. Everything was delicious. The chefs here - a father and son team - are absolute artists in the kitchen. Superb!

Absolutely had the best time here. The atmosphere is incredible and so fun. The service was unbelievably amazing. Our server Jocelyn was so kind, helpful and friendly. She made us feel so welcomed. And the food was delicious! I tried the Exclamation ramen and I was very impressed. I also couldn t believe how great the noodles tasted. Very fresh and chewy. We will absolutely be back, I would strongly recommend this place to anyone!

Excellent ramen

I had a pretty good experience from Exclamation Fusion. The food was insanely good, I had the curry don. I can t tell if i was just hungry at the time but it was the best japanese curry i ve had. The chicken was extremely juicy and soft. the little pieces of cabbage was a nice touch.The rice was really yummy too! My partner said it was spicy but I think it was more hot than spicy, even then I cant usually handle really spicy food but this was perfect, no spicy feeling for me. I really liked it then most when it was really hot and fresh :) devoured it in 5 mins. Price is pretty good for the serving I paid 17 dollars with the 2 dollar coke included. Server was so nice, long wait time though, but it was worth the wait :)

Had Sukiyaki beef don and takoyaki on two separate visits. It was extremely juicy and tasty. The quality remained top tier and consistent. The location is very relaxing, and the service is excellent.

The food in bento box is directly from Costco pre-made. I also suggest the restaurant change to a smaller bento box since the portion is so little.

Very average Asian fusion geared towards students. Good for hanging out (its got board games etc.), but not great if you want something delicious. Better just go to University Plaza or Uptown.

Came here with friends on Saturday night ... food was loved by all of us. My wife and I have been here previously and we returned for the cream bun dessert. Main courses are very good, both in flavour as well as portion size ... we had to take the remainder of our entrees home. We will definitely return.

The food was amazing! Only thing is we had what I think was the owners child (11/13 years old) serve us our food and bill. There was an item we didn t like and hadn t touched and we were not asked how we liked the food. (I m not going to tell a child I don t want to be charged for something I don t like) I d go here for takeout but not to sit in again.

I came here for a casual dinner with a friend, and it was good! We ordered a house special ramen and a suicide beef ramen - the house special ramen was a tonkotsu broth with a generous portion of proteins and other toppings. The suicide beef ramen was not very spicy, which was disappointing for my spicy-food-loving self. The chicken broth used in the ramen lacked a lot of depth of flavour, but was still good. Service was quick, friendly, and professional, and prices w re reasonable. Id definitely come here again for a quick bite!

Great food, even better service. One of the few places we have went to as a family where all members were thrilled with what they ordered. I 100% recommend if you are looking for something sweet to try the egg yolk buns. All the apps and mains we ordered were delicious. The waitress is very friendly and accommodating. A must try location in KW. Kid-friendliness: They were very patient with my young children and let them play in a little play area and use their piano while we waited.

I would give 6 stars if I could. The food was fantastic, from the ramen to the okonomiyaki to the cheese cake. But the reason for which this restaurant stayed so impressed in my mind was the service. Seeing such a lovely family taking care of their customers (us) and making sure we were happy made a very strong impression on me. We had a great time, and I would very much recommend this restaurant.

Its a smaller place, as far as I could tell there was only about 2 people working so service time for food was a little long. But worth the wait, the food was great, the atmosphere while a little strange does have areas for children to be entertained which is a rarity. Price was extremely affordable, I got a full course, app, drink, main, and dessert and tip, for under $50. Very happy with my time there and I will be coming back. Only real con, there was someone playing piano who was playing rather loudly, but that was another customer not staff. A wonderful little place. Food was really good (got various ramens at our table.). Portions were a little smaller than other places, but price was lower so that works out just fine. Beautiful little shop with games and toys you can borrow. Only complaint was good was very slow to arrive. They didnt seem busy, just took more time than average for an empty restaurant. As long as youre not in a rush, this place was great

The food was a horrendous amalgamation of random things that do not go well together. I ordered a bento which took nearly an hour, the portions were small and the sauce was disgusting. I ended up having to wash off the sauce with water before it was edible. I am truly puzzled at how this restaurant got the reviews it currently has.

This is our second time coming here, and we will absolutely be back in the future. The pan fried bao is to die for & the exclamation ramen was out of this world. I cannot stress enough the quality & value we receive here as well as the top notch service you are greeted with from the moment you walk in the door. Do yourself a favour and come here for lunch or dinner and I promise you that you will absolutely not be disappointed.

Ramen is great here. Nice noodles with a good chew and broth is rich in flavour, not too salty. One of the few places where I actually finished the broth. Spacious seating arrangements and very clean overall.

We went here for the first time yesterday and were very impressed by the service, atmosphere and most of all the food! We ordered two ramens and an assortment of appetizers and everything was very tasty, as well as affordable. I was pleasantly surprised because I d been having a hard time finding good food places to eat at in KW, but I ve finally found my spot! The service was incredible as well, our waitress was friendly and kept my water cup filled without me even having to ask. 10/10 recommendation, I ll definitely be back here again!

our server was the sweetest person ever, I had such a good experience and the food was so good! We got the exclamation ramen, suicide beef ramen, chicken Katsu, and the bao s. I recommend all of them! The chicken katsu was sooo juicy and crunchy, the best we ve had so far! I really didn t like the soba, tasted overwhelmingly of peanut rather sesame. Really delicious food! Location isnt in a high traffic area, so it feels like a real hidden gem! Every dish we ordered was delicious and fresh! I ordered the pork belly ramen and the pork just melted in my mouth! The wait staff were very friendly and attentive! You have the option to place your order online and have it brought to the table, which was really neat! They came to our table once we ordered to confirm they received the order. Definitely give this place a try! Well be coming back for sure!

Amazing service, the lady was super considerate and friendly. She let me play the piano in the restaurant, and remembered me for subsequent visits! The food is not too expensive (a bowl of ramen is around $12-$13). I highly recommend the sesame soba with veal brisket!

One of the best restaurants, period. Everything Ive eaten over several visits has been great; Im sure I can ask the hard-working staff to bring anything available and Ill be pleased. Food combinations may be as expected or may be unexpected; everything is done well. The prices are a bargain, the service is splendid, and everything is super-clean. The place is a gem, only a short distance from both universities.

Such a hidden gem on a quiet street, the food was so tasty, I have been going there for the Ramen & Dumplings, top-notch service with cozy atmosphere for dine in, if ya love playing piano, there is a Yamaha piano waiting for you to relax for a moment before meal, highly recommended.

Just picked up some ramen for my sick kiddo and it s a 10/10 for me. Price, flavour, quantity and quality are all exceptional. Compared to other ramen places in uptown Waterloo, nothing compares to Exclamation! Now if they would bring back their old menu from the DTK location lol

Warm and friendly people. Very high tech restaurant as in your have to scan the menu and order online. The order will reach the kitchen staff and you will receive tout food. This is THE best place to eat in Waterloo. Nowhere else will you find such high quality food at such average prices. Someone find out where the chef learnt to cook. All their meat options are made so well every time. The veal in their veal soba is so tender and so well seasoned, it tastes like a 50 dollar steak for 15. Just give this restaurant a try one time and youll be hooked. They reeled me in and Ive not regretted a dime I spent here. Also, service is great and the atmosphere is very cozy and relaxing. Love the calm piano music.

Came here for a business lunch and the whole restaurant was empty! We also came when it just opened. The food is cheap but very delicious . We got suicide ramen, gyoza, and beef short ribs. The beef short ribs were amazing. The ramen was also good. Definitely recommend if you are in the area. They have handwritten receipts.

First time trying this location out after seeing the positive reviews. We were warmly greeted in their restaurant which also doubles as an art gallery. Large paintings which are displayed on sale are hung above the tables. The ordering system is unique in how you have to use your phone to order on their website. Odd, but not bad. We ordered three different ramen as well as a buckwheat shoju to share. The shoju was strong and warmed up, making it perfect for the winter weather. The ramen was good, and felt very much like a home cooked meal. The broth is lighter tasting but has enough flavour. Their katsu cod ramen comes with the juiciest cod but with the flakiest texture of coating on the outside. The only downside was the ramen had too much noodle compared to the meat and vegetable portion. We would have preferred a smaller portion but I guess two people could always share the meal as well! I would likely return again to try their other dishes. The welcoming and helpful staff are enough to make me return.
