Went here for our first time to try some new food and it was great ! Service was quick and attentive, food was tasty, and the atmosphere is cute. The ipads to order should have some more details on menu items because we did ended up asking a lot of questions.

Such a nice place to try Japanese cuisine. They also have good amount of vege options. The staffs are so friendly. I would say very authentic too. If you are a ramen person please try this little cute place.

I got the takeout gimbab. But the gimbab was so cold, and the rice was hard. I m sure it was made yesterday or even a few days ago. I was really disappointed and ended up throwing it out.

I used to like this place back when they had a different concept and layout. Now its very strange smelling, probably from all the fried foods. In my last visit we asked to get a different sauce on the poke bowl in addition to the mayo sauce we chose because the bowl was a bit bland/lacking but they refused to give us any help, not even just a squirt of the sauce because they dont know how much to charge us for it because the sauces are all purchased with different prices by the restaurant. I love poke but this poke was just awful. We would have finished it if we could mask the taste with some sauce. It had a fishy taste to the salmon and them not accommodating our simple request was so strange. To me it seemed like they didnt want to help us, even if it was just a squirt of sauce. By the way, the bowls cost the same price with any sauce. I would not recommend this restaurant anymore.

I honestly think this place is way over-priced for what it provides but then there are no other options for the same type of food in this area anyway. The foods are generally somewhat a bit less than semi-authentic if you are looking for an authentic Japanese ramen noodles. Other fusion food that targets more foreigners taste good in terms of the local sense because the standards are different across different ethnicities. Overall OK, not a place that I would go on a daily or weekly basis.

Tonkotsu ramen was a hit hard. The broth is creamy. The ramen is chewy. However, the char siu was a bit dry and overcooked.

The staff at the counter was so rude. When I came in and asked for take-out she asked me to sit at one of the first tables with 2 seats and it was a bit awkward sitting so I asked her if I could go to one of the other tables and dine in. She said they just got done with rush hour and rush might start again, meaning there were only two tables occupied one by a group of four and two people on a table of four. All the while she answered my question she was very loud, almost yelling, but since I already had placed the order I decided to just do take-out. While I was waiting two other people came in and she asked them to sit on the table of four. It wouldnt have taken me more than 10 minutes to eat. it was around 2 PM and not rush hour. I noticed the servers demeanour changed with other customers as well. Maybe I wasnt the same as other customers or maybe I looked a bit different. The food was average, nothing new there are far better places near far better service. Will never come here again, advise my friends to stay away as well.

the service is so rude and horrible, it s almost laughable. ordered the seafood udon for pickup through the phone and when the order was repeated to me, i heard the girl say seafood udon so i confirmed. upon arrival, i was given the beef udon. when i said that this wasn t what i ordered, she responded well i said beef udon and you confirmed so what do you want me to do about it? .. what? why is that the first thing you say to a customer when they receive an item they didn t order. i stood there for a bit in shock and she just kept repeating what do you want me to do about it?? in such a foul attitude. maybe she was having a bad day, but the restaurant was completely empty and that left a disgusting taste in my mouth. food is decent but it s really not enough to make up for the lack of customer service etiquette.

They serve very delicious Japanese noodles and Don katsu. I tried most noodle on the menu and enjoyed them very much.

I have been there a couple of times. In the past, I had great experiences. However, this time was different. I found eggshell in my kimbap and a fruit fly in my salad. To me, the most important issue is that when I pointed out the fruit fly, nobody took it seriously. There were no apologies or anything. They could do better, but I am not coming back.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. My visit on Sunday at 12:30 was ruined by the disrespectful behavior of the server, which led us to walk out without ordering. Despite there being only two other tables occupied, the server was incredibly rude. The restaurant uses an iPad ordering system, so the server wasn t even busy taking orders, and the tables that were occupied already had their food. When we requested chicken instead of seafood in one of the dishes, she dismissively stated, the chef won t do that, and continued to walk away while we were speaking. When she came back we asked for the same dish with just shrimp, and she begrudgingly agreed but with the caveat that they would only add one shrimp to compensate for the rest of the seafood. Furthermore, when I inquired about having the dish extra spicy, she chastised us for making too many modifications, treating us as if we were inconveniencing her. The modifications we were inquiring about were not available to put on the iPad, which is why we were asking her, but she kept walking away as if we were bothering her and she was busy with other things. When I turned to look, she was just standing in the entrance of the kitchen doing nothing. This level of disrespect and unprofessionalism is unacceptable and severely impacted our dining experience. The servers attitude was so appalling that we walked out without even ordering. We wont be giving this place another chance, and we wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

This is my favourite restaurant in Waterloo. The oyakodon is DELICIOUS! Creamy and mild. The mapo tofu is also delicious! I asked for it not to be spicy and it was completely mild. The menu describes the tofu as deep fried, but I found it was more like pan fried so that the outside had the chewy texture, but the inside was still silky, which I like because its healthier than having it deep fried. My daughter loves the shoyu ramen. The udon noodles are also excellent, as are the gyoza appetisers. You cant really go wrong with any dish at this restaurant. Interior is casual. it is NOT a dive; it is well kept, but not fancy. 5/5 Highly recommend.

I gave this place a 4 star before but the last time I went (last night), my friend and I were absolutely blown away. Apparently they somewhat recently fell under new ownership and they had made some recipe changes, got some higher quality ingredients and it SHOWS. The takoyaki is the best I ve ever had, but the broth in the ramen, and the other things as well obviously were AMAZING especially compared to before. There s just so much harmony in the flavours and it comes together so perfectly, great texture too, it was all very smooth. Clearly high collagen which made for a nice and creamy broth. It s a bit pricey but honestly it s worth it. The lady who served us (I didn t catch her name) was also super cool

The food was average. The customer service was worse. The server is extremely rude. The place was basically empty and they were annoyed with the little customers they had. There so many other options in kw that have the same or better quality. I suggest going somewhere else if you don t want a server who acts like you are ruining there day by eating there.

Food here is always good. But there are few servers to the crowd. There is a touchpad used for ordering food, drinks and calling your server for assistance. Use it only to order your food. If you would like something like water, napkins, or the bill, using the button to call the server will accomplish nothing. Just go up to the counter.

This is our new favorite Restaurant now. Their Ramen is so good. I personally in love with their Tteokbokki and bulgogi. Ive been wanting to try their gimbap though because everytime we order for take out, they are not making it, hopefully my next order they have it. Otherwise, we really love and enjoy the food.

I decided to go on a diet for the New Year, but I heard there was a new menu item, Poke, so I ordered takeout and tried it. First of all, the portions are really generous and there are a variety of toppings. You could choose between salmon and tuna, and the salmon was thick and really fresh~ There were many different sauces. I bought additional salad sauce to try different things that go well with it. Personally, the salad sauce was sweet and delicious.

They ve added a lot to the menu. The real Japanese-style pork katsu used fresh bread crumbs, which made it crispier than ever! And the sake don was so fresh. I ll drop by more often

Its been a while since I visited, and the interior and menus have changed a lot. The decor had a feeling like being in an animated world. The newly introduced Garlic Don Kotsu Ramen, Hire Katsu, and Shrimp Katsu offer a taste that is unparalleled in the KW area. Now, I dont have to go far to enjoy authentic Japanese Katsu, and thats something I appreciate!

Pls update your website or at least stick a note at your door if you re going to open later than what is written on your website. You are wasting people s time.

Got the Tonkotsu ramen today. Very disappointed, the portion size was small, soup flavor tasted pathetic, and the garnish was practically non-existent. Bold of them to charge $19 for a bowl of something thats similar to instant noodles.

Ive been to this place quite often and their food is pretty good, especially after their revamp. The chicken mayo don is one of my go-tos but the sauce could have less salt. The interior decorations are really nice and the staff is friendly. You should definitely check this place out!

Im not sure if they changed ownership, but the food changed. I ordered a Champon Raemen, which I normally ordered. This time, it was cold, no broth, and the wrong broth. Lots of noodles, very little sea food. Im never going there again.

Weve been to Momo before and have always found the food and service to be really good. We always get the gyoza and curry don because theirs is great! The Shrimp Karaage was bland this time but amazing at our previous visit so 4 starts for a lack of consistency but that being said its served with a delicious dipping sauce and it was perfectly crispy. Thank you Momo for a lovely dinner. Forgot to mention the ambiance is also quite nice and calm. Great spot for a quick delicious meal. My tip is to get the curry sauce on the side because the portion is huge and youre bound to have left overs. Also, if you like things spicy theyll give you sriracha on the side.

I think I got the spicy chicken ramen and it was really good. Chewy noodles, great toppings and great broth albeit a bit hot if you arent adjusted to hot food. Sucks that they arent open Sundays since thats when I am usually available.

Best ramen in Waterloo. The broth has the right level of richness and importantly, the saltiness thats missing from other establishments around here. I think the egg needs a little work, but overall, highly recommended.

I had tonkasu ramen , it was tasty and good portion. A few hours later I became very thirsty, I think there is a lot of MSG. All in all, a nice restaurant in Waterloo area.

A+ tier restaurant for sure, this is the only few restaurants on the plaza that can actually justify their higher price and portion with the taste and the atmosphere. Expect to spend $15 to $20 bucks(including tax and tip) Their chair is a bit small If you are over 6 feet tall.

Restaurant near university campus. It was clean and had a few tables with 2 larger tables that could seat up to 6 people. Many menu items were not available the day I went. We ordered their donburi and it tasted okay but had way too much sauce. Prices are a bit expensive, it was around $22 after tax and tip.

I never had pork belly in donburi before but it was absolutely delicious and i loved everything about it, the meat was so tender and tasted so flavourful!!

I ordered food from this restaurant twice and both times I found foreign objects in my food. The first time, it was a small piece of plastic, and the second time, it was a piece of wire. When I discovered the plastic, the owner did not apologize, and I only received a refund for the noodles I ordered through Uber. I was very disappointed but decided to give them another chance. However, today I found another foreign object, and now I am very concerned about the restaurants hygiene standards. ------- I ordered twice in total through the Uber app, and a piece of plastic was found in the first order, and a steel scrubber was found in the second order. I found both while eating, and I was lucky and didnt get hurt, but this experience was very disappointing both times in two orders, and the sanitary condition of the stores kitchen is very questionable.

Not what this place used to be. New owners changed this place for the worse. The ramen used to be amazing here, now its cheaply made, bland, and definitely not worth the price theyre charging. Very disappointed especially considering how great the place was. The Japanese identity of the restaurant is gone, most of the menu is Korean now, and the interior of the restaurant was stripped entirely of its character. Overall, very sad to see the quality of the food go down considering how amazing this place once was.

Please beware, like the other reviews have written, this place is not at all a Japanese restaurant that it once used to be. Its a poor rendition of a Korean restaurant. Nothing about this place is anywhere as good as it once was, the Ramen is horrible, the food is watered down at higher cost, and the menu has completely changed. Further, the ubereats menu is completely different from the menu they have bow here. Customer service is, for lack of better words, utterly horrible.

Its sad that the Japanese decorations and some menu options are gone after the change of ownership but luckily my favorite tonkotsu ramen and server(aka the youngest and pretty one I think) are still here! The prices all go up but I think its reasonable. Its still my must-go restaurant in Waterloo

After construction, many menus were created, but the taste of ramen has changed and the number of Korean snack foods that do not go well has increased. There is less seafood or meat in ramen than before. The new interior seems to have been remodeled to accommodate more people, but personally, I think it has changed from a luxurious look to a very cheap restaurant. And personally, whenever I go, I always eat sweet and sour pork, but it was gone, and a new gangjeong was added, so I ordered it and was very disappointed. This is a restaurant I always go to when I come to Waterloo, but its a shame. There are already many restaurants nearby where you can easily find things like fried chicken, cup rice, and kimbap, but I dont know if there is a need to expand the menu by changing the amount and taste of Guji Ramen. + They say the owner has changed....

Pretty minimal in atmosphere and clean. Iron spicy donkatsu is okay, I found that the donkatsu is better with the original tteokbokki sauce!! I recommend the combo. The tteokbokki is SO soft and yummy, not as sweet as other places. I think its probably my favourite Ive had so far. My partner got the chicken udon which was okay.

they changed the menu recently and removed the spicy salmon don :( no more sashimi at all on the menu

I just tried this place at lunch today since 2 years ago. Menu has changed & the food is so much better. I recommend the rose rice cake if youre into spicy food and the cheese katsu was wow. The revamped menu took me back to my childhood in Korea eating stretfood but enhanced. Perfect spot to take kids & teens too. Parking: Lots Kid-friendliness: Both of us have kids and cant wait to take them next time.

Momo has changed some items on its menu. Used to love the buta, but now seems completly different. There is no longer pork belly and mainly vegetables and mushrooms and lean cuts.

Their hours of operation listed on the website and storefront are wrong. I was excited to try this after coming home from a long roadtrip. The website listed that they were open until 9:45pm and the storefront said 10pm. We arrived just before 9:20pm and were planning to order takeout since close was approaching. We were told that they were closed and that last order was at 9:30pm. When I pointed out that it was 10 minutes before 9:30 , there staff said they had already started closing. If you are going to list hours of operation, they should be accurate. Its not as though we arrived 5 minutes before close. Very annoying.

Bugs in food!!! I took my mother to Momo Japanese noodles to introduce her how delicious Japanese noodles is but they served us noodles with bugs!!!! Bugs with many legs omg!!!! At first I thought that was a black sesame but then I saw the tiny legs, it was swimming in my shoyu noodle I was so terrified. I picked it up and put it on the bowl(white bowl so the bug is even more clear to me). I called a lady and showed her the bug, she immediately took a paper and picked it up, I told her please don t do that leave it there so you can see clear but she didn t listen and Dodd it even quicker while squeezing it!! Then she opened the paper and said that s not a bug yeah that is one flat bug body you have Then she called two more person to have a look, welp why didn t you call them first? The lady also spoke with them using their language so I didn t understand what she said but Not surprisingly, they were arguing to me that s not a bug. Well the bug was little and it was squeezed so hard so of course people can t tell. The chief boy was insisting this is a dust due to pan fried food but I didn t order any pan fried food and this was a noodle how was that even make sense? I asked the lady, you picked it up from my noodle you served, if you believe this is absolutely no problem with it, eat it. Her face was like if I were ask her to eat a bug, yes, a bug! All I wanted was a sincere apology but they may have their concerns of admitting the bug, I don t know and I don t care anymore because I won t go back in there anymore. And to people who is reviewing this, please always take pictures of bug before you call the waitress because they will wipe it up immediately and leave you no evidence to prove yourself. Demoting my review from 4 star to 2 ish. I had fond memories of this place because of the not expensive, delicious comfort food, but now it is far away from what it was before, unfortunately. Different ingredients, preparation and flavor. Dang.

Food was alright however quite abit has changed. The only thing I enjoyed were the rice cakes to be honest.

I stopped by MoMo for lunch with a coworker. They had a lot of free tables available compared to other nearby restaurants, but had many customers picking up orders to go. Once seated, you look at a tablet to browse through their menu items and place your order directly on the tablet. We ordered the Seafood Udon, Pork Chasu Ramen, and Takoyaki. I was very impressed with the ramen. It was a much tastier and thicker broth compared to some ramen chains restaurants nearby. The seafood udon had an amazing smell, and my coworker loved the noodle quality in his dish. The service was quick and timely, and I would revisit again.

Ordered a Corn Chicken as a takeout. It tasted really good, and it was also cheap. Want to visit this place again.

Ive been coming here for years and I can confidently say that this is the best ramen place Ive been to. Better than the high end ones in Toronto. Not only is everything home made but the service is also always friendly and wonderful. Youll never be disappointed with anything on the menu

Uber d their Vegan creamy ramen dish. When it arrived, it seemed off so I called to ensure it was vegan and asked is it vegan and the lady says not entirely no . When I asked then why is it titled vegan creamy ramen if it s not vegan she said I know it s a bit weird what the heck lol - don t label your food vegan if it s not.

My favorite food at Momo is Osam Bulgogi!! The squid in it is well cooked and very soft so I like it. The portion is big, so I always pack up the leftover!

I found a fly in my food, they did refund it but I will never come back here. Im so disgusted.

I like the taste of their ramen. My favorite is the Budae ramen. The place is cozy but be reminded that this place is always packed so go there early.

I tried budae ramen (maybe new menu?). It was so amazing. soup was savory and flavorful. If you have it I recommend you to order extra rice, they are very good combination. I can say BUDAE RAMEN is really good for winter season. Try it ! Feel it!

Called the restaurant to place an order. While I was talking to place my order, call was hung up. Tried calling back so many times and straight was going to answering machine. Me thinking thier phone system maybe down, drove all the way to waterloo from Cambridge! When I go in to place my order, the lady says its break time then closing, no more order. I explained to her that you were talking to me on the phone while I was trying to place my order, she replied I know and no more order WHAT IS GOING ON !!!!

If Im allowed to wish for something, that creamy vegetarian ramen from the previous menu was the best thing ever. Amazing spot right near the university of Waterloo. Amazing vegan and veg selection on the menu and the interior is so cute. The staff were quick and so polite. Have been waiting to go back since first visit!

Place was cute and neat|friendly staff |quick service | food was amazing | spicy chicken ramen was just everything | donburi was good as well | forgot name of another dish which had fried chicken rice hashbrown and cheese - I would say it was OKish Revisited this place today(oct22) tried seafood ramen and it tasted amazing. This dish had bits of octopus shrimp mussel and veggies. Wish there was some more meat added to the dish compared to price but overall taste was good. It was same as chicken ramen (but less spicy)

Assuming this restaurant is the new location of the Izna restaurant that previously located in downtown Kitchener, none of the food, service, or atmosphere were nearly as great as Iznas.

They deleted many good stuffs from menu. I really enjoyed Ten Don and this place was the only restaurant I found around UW that served Ten Don. Now it s all gone. Rip

The spicy iron plate tonkatsu was delicious and the combination with the melted cheese really impressed me. The meal was unexpectedly filling and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The restaurant is also beautifully designed and I love their new decor. Easily one of my favourite places to eat in Waterloo. (I was in a literary mood )

Food was good, a bit expensive, but service was the spark of the meal :)

Eh it was okay, had the tonkatsu ramen, the meat was cold, and the broth wasnt hot

A majority of the menu items are no longer available. The chicken mayo don had nice avocado, but the chicken karaage was very gummy and felt undercooked. The breading of the katsudon was hard instead of crunchy, and would not stay on the pork. I was also disappointed by the lack of vegetables in both dishes.

Nice Japanese place thats fairly new in the university plaza. The decor and ambience is pretty calm and relaxed. The service was adequate. The food was hit-or-miss. The iron plate special was excellent, well worth the price. The chicken cutlet was underwhelming.

Best ramen in all of Waterloo, dont go to kinton or gol, this is the best option from my experience! Delecious flavours, big portions, and the staff is incredibly friendly and kind! Nice experience.
