The Grand Malabar is our take on delicious Indian food, which we would like to share. We hope you like the food. Halal in all our preparations
I discovered this amazing restaurant through word of mouth recognition and then on my Ubereats deliveries. I absolutely love the food and friendly service here. I have tried a few dishes and can’t wait to try more. This is my #1 Choice and recommended South Indian restaurant!!!! You’ll love it too 😁👍🥰😍😉 I wish I had pictures to show, but that’s how good the food is that I had to start eating right away and enjoying it so much that I couldn’t even think of pausing for a photo.
My friends and I had an amazing lunch at this cozy, customer-friendly spot, with reasonable prices to match. Our favorite was the Malabar Dum Mutton Biryani, which had generous meat portions. The Kappa Biryani was also flavorful, though the portion size could’ve been better. The Malabar Dum Chicken Biryani was good, but the Puthiyapila Choru didn’t quite hit the mark—though that might just come down to personal preference. The Mango Lassi was a perfect 10/10! With great customer service and a welcoming atmosphere, I’ll definitely recommend this place to friends.
This restaurant can never disappoint anybody. 10/10. Order- Goan chicken soup - Malabar chicken dumplings biryani - Chemmeen (shrimp) Fry - Fish Nirvana - Kerala Parotta I like the way they serve their cuisines on banana leaf.
Had a great experience at Grand Malabar Indian Cuisine. Service was top notch. Ease in calling for service with the button on the table. Had the most hyped puthiyappila choru. The quantity was really amazing. Struggling to finish the food. Taste was good as well. 4.5/5. Place was really crowded which proves the quality of the food is good. Had to wait to be seated. Price was okayish but depending on the quantity I would say it's reasonable. The only drawback I found would be the washrooms. Just one restroom each which has the wash basin inside it . Had to wait on que for handwashing turn. Overall it was worth the visit and a much needed spot in kitchener for malayalee food lovers. Would definitely visit again to try their other dishes.
I'm a regular customer at Grand Malabar. They offer delicious chicken and mutton biryani at affordable prices, and the service is excellent. I've tried their biryani, porota, mutton gravy, and sulaimani, and I highly recommend them to anyone in KWC or visiting the area.
The food was really really yummy and tasty. The actual Malabar Biryani ever tasted in Canada. Loved every bit of it and enjoyed it. The aroma of authentic Malabar biryani will get when we step into the restaurant. Waited about few minutes to enjoy it because of the rush. The crowd coming to the restaurant is justifiable, as all the variety of food is delicious. We all tried biryani, Porotta, beef and chilli chicken, in one word all - great food. Definitely shall come to taste more dishes.
Offers a delightful dining experience with its combination of good food, inviting atmosphere, and attentive service. The staff's friendly and efficient service enhances the overall dining experience, making Grand Malabar a recommended choice for those seeking a satisfying culinary outing.
We recently had the pleasure of dining at Grand Malabar, and the experience left a lasting impression. Our meal was an exquisite culinary journey featuring a diverse range of dishes, each with its unique and delightful flavors. We started with the Chemmeen Fry (Shrimp), which was a burst of seafood goodness. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and seasoned, delivering a delightful blend of spices that awakened the taste buds. The Chilli Paneer was a wonderful fusion of flavors. The paneer was both creamy and spicy, creating a harmonious balance that was a treat for the palate. Fish Nirvana was a true highlight. The fish was impeccably cooked and very tender on the inside. The flavors were layered and complex, leaving a memorable taste in every bite. The Ghee Rice and Mutton Biryani were both aromatic and delicious. The rice dishes were fragrant and flavorful, and the mutton in the biryani was tender and well-spiced. Crispy Spinach added a delightful crunch to our meal, and the Daal Fry was a comforting and wholesome addition. To finish off our meal, we indulged in the Falooda for dessert. It was a sweet, creamy, and refreshing way to conclude our dining experience. The overall ambiance and service at Grand Malabar were excellent. The staff was attentive, and the restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere that added to the overall enjoyment of our meal. In conclusion, Grand Malabar is a gem for those seeking an authentic South Indian Kerala cuisine dining experience.
I had the best Malabar chicken Biryani here.Food is amazing and customer service is excellent.
I have ordered beef roast and kadai chicken. Beef roast was good but the kadai chicken tasted was not as usual, I had a little bit and then ended up in food poison. This is the first time I have experienced something like this in this restaurant. Please make sure that you are using all fresh stuff.
We had an awesome dinner! The Alleppey fish curry with mango was absolutely delicious, and the chicken Kondattam was simply amazing. The appam and porotta complemented the dishes perfectly. Moreover, the service was friendly and attentive. A special thanks to Darsana and Ans for their excellent menu suggestions today!
A good restaurant for quick bite
But just but the food is good.
Dec 2024 first visit... very good flavors and large portions. Definitely will return Food
Excellent and authentic food, very high quality ingredients used.
I just took takeout. What an amazing food. i m so glad i found this restaurant. Next time we ll dine in. Mutton roast and the chicken dum biryani are must try items
I had beef biriyani and Kozhi porichathu it was so delicious, authentic Thalassery dum biriyani
Front Staff are clowns. Please, consider changing them.
The food was great!! Service and atmosphere good!! If you ever visit Waterloo and wish to eat south India food (esp. Kerala) then it s a must go place!
For the past few years since the opening of your restaurant, we have thoroughly enjoyed the food and dining experience, aside from the occasional wait times during peak hours. However, our most recent visit on Saturday, November 23, was unfortunately a disappointing one. I had the puthiyapila choru, and my husband had the porotta with goat kadai. The following day, both of us experienced vomiting, diarrhea, and severe body aches and had to go ER. As this was the only meal we had eaten outside our home recently, we believe the food may have caused these issues. We hope this was an isolated incident, as we have always loved both the food and the restaurant. We kindly encourage you to ensure strict adherence to food safety standards to maintain the excellent reputation youve built.
Today I came to Malabar restaurant and had food,,pototta chilli chicken,,but the pototta super chilli chicken was very bad, the chicken was not fresh at all,,the service was bad
The overall experience was fantastic,, Service and taste buds was top-notch staffs are always attractive and friendly Food was delicious, with full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The area well maintained, clean and hygiene.the grand malabar offers a delightful dining experience Food
Yesterday I ate shrimps lazeez and kalappam its awesome and Nirvana also. My friend ordered butter chicken and its a rich in flavour food . The customer service was excellent
The best South Indian food I have ever tasted in Canada, no debate
Great experience visiting. The biryani was the standout flavorful and perfectly cooked. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, a fantastic meal, and I ll definitely be back!
Excellent food and service.ambience was good too.
Great ambiance, food was excellent, presentation and service was outstanding.thanks to the staff for a wonderful experience.
They offer the best biriyani in KWC. I tried Kallappam and fish nirvana also. It was Amazing. Undoubtedly, this restaurant has the best Kerala food in the area.
Awesome Malabar Chicken Biryani. Highly recommended.
I recently visited The Grand Malabar Restaurant and tried their chicken biryani it was phenomenal! The biryani had the perfect balance of authentic Malabar flavors, with the rice cooked to perfection and infused with fragrant spices. The chicken was incredibly tender and well-marinated, absorbing the rich masala flavors beautifully. The layers of aromatic basmati rice, tender chicken, and crispy fried onions were a treat for the senses. The subtle hints of saffron and the burst of spices in every bite transported me straight to Kerala. The portion size was generous, and the accompanying raita was light and refreshing, perfectly complementing the dish. This is hands-down the best chicken biryani I ve had in a long time, and I can t recommend it enough. If you re a biryani enthusiast, The Grand Malabar Waterloo is a must-visit!
The chicken biryani at The Grand Malabar Restaurant is a masterpiece of authentic Malabar cuisine. The layers of aromatic basmati rice, succulent chicken, and rich spices are cooked to perfection. The burst of flavors in every bite, enhanced by the subtle touch of coconut oil and fried curry leaves, speaks volumes about the care and tradition behind this dish. Whether you re dining in or taking away, this biryani delivers an unforgettable experience every time. Highly recommended!
Great kerala restaurant in Kitchener-Waterloo area. Reasonable price. Good vibe. Fish Nirvana and Kallappam is a must try!!!! Food : 5/5
Tried kallappam and fish nirvana. It was delicious.
Really worth it.Food, service and almosphere is super. definitely will try again.
Good
Grand Malabar is a place I always go to. The biryani is awesome and the Sulaimani is also great. The service is friendly. The beef is delicious Yummyyyyy
I was very much delighted to dine here ,the food quality of the restaurant is amazing, they have a unique taste of adding different aromatic taste to the food ,the team is absolutely nice ,I had that pleasent welcoming ambience at the restaurant I will highly recommend you to visit this restaurant
I visited this place today with few of my non keralite friends from Hyderabad, Gujarat and Kashmir. My goal was to introduce real authentic Malabari Biriyani to them. I must mention Poornima and Anns, the servers who attended our table served really well, The mutton biriyani along with Sulaimani was a bit higher than the level we expected. Its an honour for me to make my Hyderabadi friend to compliment Malabari Biriyani as he comes from non veg cuisine capital of India.
Food is great, deserving 1star for the front staff. Should commit exact preparation time for food.
Rude service
Slowest service of food in the whole city of Kitchener and waterloo. If you want to waste your time then you can go to eat. Food
The food was great.
Very good food
The food was amazing the best south indian dishes that I have tasted from the canada. and the interior also nice with good musics the restaurant gives a good vibe.
Really good food for price ,our entire family loved the food . It brought home vibes. Even though it took 25 minutes, the food made up for the wait.
Had a great experience with The Grand Malabar Indian Restaurant. We did a take out order. Had the most hyped puthiyappila choru and Chicken Dum Biriyani. Their packaging was great and the quantity was really amazing. Would definitely visit again to try their other dishes.
I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant on October 27th at 6 PM. After driving 40 kilometers to dine there, I expected decent service, but that was far from the case. We placed our order and started waiting, but no food arrived. I noticed that every time we tried to make eye contact with the server who took our order, he d look away, avoiding us completely. After about an hour and a half of waiting, I finally asked about our food. A different staff member informed us that they were busy and that the food would come later. Eventually, they discovered that our order was mistakenly set as take-out instead of dine-in. To make things worse, instead of preparing fresh plates, they just tried to serve it in takeout containers. Frustrated by the long wait, I told them to simply give it to us as-is. We paid for our meal, took the cold food home, and regretted the whole experience. If we had just ordered online, we could have saved fuel, time, and the frustration. Other customers who arrived after us were served quickly, and it felt as if the staff ignored us on purpose. We will not be returning here terrible service, wasted time, and cold food.
The food, ambience, service was all amazing. Especially puthiyaplachoru was really delicious .
Nice food and service
Very poor service!
We called in our order half hour prior to arrival. We got served within 3 minutes upon arrival. We wanted to try chicken biriyani that was recommended by couple of our friends. It didnt have that typical spices and masala over punch which made it stand out. Service was top notch. Kid-friendliness: Yes
The best kerala restaurant around the area. Parota and beef coconut fry is a must try. Will definitely visit again.
I ordered ghee rice, beef curry and lentil combo and it was delicious. I have tried many restaurants in gta and kw area and honestly its one of the best.
Fantastic customer service and great food. All the girls who work there are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Poornima, she was really kind and graceful throughout. I ll definitely recommend this place
Relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and delicious tea with a snack. Ighly recommend.
Best option for Kerala foods.
Love the ambiance, food, service
If you re craving authentic Kerala flavors, The Grand Malabar Indian Cuisine is the place to be. Every dish bursts with rich and tantalizing flavors that transport you straight to the heart of India. The mutton curry is a true star tender, juicy pieces of mutton soaked in a perfectly spiced, aromatic gravy. The depth of flavor in each bite makes it unforgettable. Paired with their Lachha Paratha, a beautifully layered, flaky bread, it s a match made in heaven. The paratha is light and crisp, ideal for mopping up the luscious curry. Their Chicken Biryani is another must-try. Made with regular rice rather than basmati, it s still packed with flavor, featuring tender chicken and a rich blend of spices. The spices infuse the rice beautifully, offering a satisfying, well-balanced bite with every spoonful. The Grand Malabar delivers a culinary experience that s rich, flavorful, and utterly satisfying. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in authentic Indian cuisine!
Food is phenomenal, HOWEVER BEWARE OF DINING IN - IT IS DANGEROUS. My friends and I went to the Grand Malabar to DINE IN and it was my one friends birthday. Birthday guy sat on a chair and his thumb GOT STABBED by a NAIL in a broken chair that the servers REFUSED TO REPLACE. He was BLEEDING PROFUSELY and had to get some medical care off site; and no matter how hard we tried to tell the servers that the chair is dangerous, they just put the broken chairs seat back as if its still safe to use. ALSO if you try to use a link the restaurant provides to provide feedback to call the inspectors to inspect the restaurant, it doesnt work. Honestly, food is great, but its insulting to injure someone on their birthday and act as if its no big deal.
Excellent traditional Kerala food!
The service is horrible. The serving time is worse. The food is good though. Good portion.
So far, I have tried almost all the Kerala restaurants in GTA, London, Sarnia, Windsor, and Niagara, but I would rate this one as the best I have ever visited. Good work guys
Wonderful experience! The food was awesome, felt like I went back to kerala! Went with my friends, had to wait a while coz the place was packed! But when the food arrived it was worth the wait. The serving team handled the crowd really well, Im impressed. Must visit place !
Mutton biryani is best but they serve it on weekends only, weekdays you can try chicken biryani which is also great!
Very slow service
Tasty food.
Awsome biryani
We ordered your Malabar biryani yesterday and were surprised to see the quantity and the quality of their biryani gone down. The biryani and raita was too salty and wasn t the best taste. Also the quantity has reduced. Don t know why.. Disappointed
40 minutes wait for take out , went to restaurant after 40 minutes, extra 15 minutes wait agin . Hmmm Paid $18.00 for small pieces of chicken , the quality and the quantity are really bad, may be it is time to take a break from this restaurant . The food they have is amazing. Love it, the dum biriyani and fish nirvana is out of the world. Little expensive for me, but I love it. They take more time for nirvana more than 20 minutes which is not acceptable. But it tastes yummy. Wanted to order big birthday Party order but the person who is dealing with is not very responsible ( one from what s app number ) the party order is too expensive. Palm valley gives better options for party order.
I was quite disappointed with my recent visit. The service was slow, with a long wait time to receive the food that we ordered, which unfortunately did not taste as good as expected. To make matters worse, when required assistance and rang the call bell, it took almost 10-15 minutes for the staff to respond. This experience was far below the standard I anticipated, and I hope these issues can be addressed promptly.
Worst service. Went there for dinner along with my friends. The food took more than an hour to be prepared. Servers dont even bother to refill water for us. If u are busy then please have the sense to hire more than one servers for the shift.
Great halal food, in a warm ambience and efficient service.
I recently dined at Grand Malabar on Sunday, September 1st, around 7:50 PM with my family. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. After being seated at table number 9, we were asked to move to table 10 to accommodate a larger group, which was an inconvenience but understandable. Not long after placing our order two dum biriyanis, one puthiyapala choru, one palapayasam, one sulaimani, and one soda surbath the service issues began. Our biriyanis took 25 minutes to arrive, despite having to remind the staff twice. The puthiyapala choru took another 5-10 minutes, further delaying our meal. The most frustrating part was the lack of attention from the staff. Despite using the wireless pager twice to request our payasam, it never arrived. I eventually had to go to the counter to ask for it. Overall, the slow and inattentive service overshadowed what could have been a pleasant dining experience. I hope Grand Malabar can improve its service, as it has the potential to be much better.
I recently dined at Grand Malabar Indian Cuisine and was disappointed. The beef curry was particularly bad, with a taste of raw masala powders indicating it wasn t cooked properly. The chicken biriyani was also lackluster. Although the service and ambiance were fine, the poor food quality overshadowed these aspects. Based on this visit, I can t recommend Grand Malabar.
I recently visited Grand Malabar Indian Cuisine and was disappointed with my experience. The butter chicken was bland and lacked depth of flavor, while the naan was dry and undercooked. To make matters worse, the service was also poor. Despite the acceptable ambiance, the combination of subpar food and inadequate service means I cannot recommend Grand Malabar.
Absolutely loved it. Delicious Halal food. Very hospitable service. Put my home sickness to ease. Great experience all round. Absolutely the best. Food
Excellent food !
Second time I m visiting this place all the way from Barrie.just because their Malabar biriani for the party order is ordered 1 full tray biriyani thats good quality and quantity it s is worth it .every one likes it.we will back again thanks
Great food and amazing customer service
This place is a gem! The food is amazing, full of rich flavors and fresh ingredients. The ambiance is very relaxing, and the staff is friendly and professional. Everything was spotless.
I love dining at this restaurant. The ambiance is cozy and stylish, the food is consistently great, and the staff is always welcoming and attentive. The cleanliness is also commendable.
Excellent South Indian food
Loved puthyapila rice in there, i really recommend it, plz try it
Great food. Great dine in area and excellent service from the side of staff.
Ive tried Kerala-style biryani from several restaurants across Toronto, and I can confidently say that Grand Malabar serves the best Kerala biryani Ive had. The flavors are authentic, and the rice is perfectly cooked, making it a standout dish. Their **chicken wings** and **shrimp fry** are also delicious and worth trying. I m excited to explore more of their menu, as every dish Ive had so far has been impressive. If youre a fan of Kerala cuisine, this place is a must-visit!
Delicious
Had a great experience at Grand Malabar Indian Cuisine.
Best food in town
The worst chicken biryani in tri city area , if I would like to eat plain rice I would cook it in house and I would boil chicken in water and would be the same , no taste at all . This chef should be fired. Thank you
Amazing food, authentic Mallu Style
Authentic Kerala foods. Delicious.
Chicken Korma! Yum!
Kid-friendliness: Yes our kids really enjoyed the atmosphere Recommended dishes
Delicious food in kitchener..
Good to dine in and have some south indian foods and cuisine
I m from prince edward island and I ve been to most of the parts of eastern and western canada and this is one of the best south Indian restaurants in canada I would say. Ordered a southIndian chicken dum biriyani and it was finger licking.
Good food.
Poor customer service and quality of food. What happened to Grand Malabar?
This was my first visit and the food was tooo good Taste , Price , quantity ,quality everything was top notch and I had an exceptional dining experience thanks to Darshana. Her service was impeccable she was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. Food : 5/5
The lady serving was very rude. She threw the menu card on the table, no hello or how are you. She has no customer interation skills or not even a smile. She have no idea about the social etiquitte in Canada. It would be nice if you could train your staff in being a bit more polite towards your customers. It can help your bussiness in a long way.
Good
I have never posted a bad experience about a restaurant. But today I was forced to write this because the service today was pathetic. We had already booked a table but after arrival we had to wait almost 15 min. Ok that is fyn. After we took the seat the server came almost after 15 min to take the order then we had to wait for like 45 min for the food. When the food came the pappadom was soggy and dry, kalappam was hard and porotta tasted like rancid. But we felt sorry for the 2 servers. They were helpless serving so many tables at a time.
The inviting atmosphere complements the amazing flavors. Highly recommended.
This restaurant has a beautiful, serene setting. The flavors are rich and perfectly balanced
The cozy atmosphere makes you feel at home. The taste is exceptional and memorable.
The food was great, but the customer service personnel should be a bit more pleasant towards the customers. Hence the four stars. I have been to this place on multiple occasions and food was never disappointing.
Have been a regular for the past few months and have seen quality steadily declining. Todays order will be my last at this place and my advice to potential clients looking for Indian food..there are better options out there. The beef ularthiyathu literally had chunks of meat fat which is not noticeable to the eye as it is coated in spices. My once favorite shrimp fry had 5 pieces of shrimps for nearly $15. I still remember the first time I ordered that dish and how filled the take out container and how full of flavour the shrimps were...now merely a lump of few pieces of shrimps in an oily spicy mix with the sole purpose to make the shrimp hot but gave up on taste. Now on to the customer service, when you get a customer going out of the way to call you to point out how your standard has been declining, you should really take some time to listen. My call was met with a we have not changed our chef response. Sraff should be trained on customer service. Will not recommend.
A great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The ambiance is wonderful and the service is excellent.
One of my favorite places to dine. The staff is very courteous and the quality of the food is outstanding.
A fantastic dining experience. The service is prompt and the atmosphere is very inviting.
The ambiance is perfect for a relaxed meal. The staff is very friendly and the variety on the menu is great.
Best Kerala food!!!
A wonderful spot for a meal. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is very cozy.
A top-notch dining destination. The atmosphere is elegant and the service is outstanding.
A gem of a place with a welcoming ambiance and attentive staff. Highly recommend for a pleasant dining experience.
I was impressed by the variety on offer. The service is prompt and the environment is very inviting.
Food was good ,Biriyani is their highlight. Gets very busy as soon as they open on weekends. But very poor customer service.
Absolutely loved the variety on the menu. The staff is very attentive and friendly.
This place has a great vibe, and the quality of the food is outstanding. Highly recommend!
Ambiance was perfect, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was top-notch, and the food quality was fantastic.
The ambiance was perfect, making it a great place for a date night. The service was excellent, and the food quality was exceptional.
Wonderful ambiance with a serene setting. The service was quick, and the quality of the food was top-notch.
Good Food. Good environment. Had Puyappila choru and Gulab Jamun with Icecream.
Good food and customer service. Their biriyani s are giving real authentic taste of south indians.
Very bad service
Ordered multiple curry dish and got tiny portions. All the curries tasted the same even though they were supposed to be completely different dishes. Dont waste your money here.
One of the best places to have authentic Kerala-style beef roast (spicy)
Great ambience, the staff was exceptional. Food was excellent. Presentation and service was outstanding.
Amazing food, especially their Malabar chicken biryani and chicken fry.
I had tasted the rabbit roast along with porotta recently. Really Nice
Just an amazing restaurant. Highly recommended for anyone looking for dine-in. Most of the dishes are above the expectations.
Take all my stars and reviews! The only place in Ontario that provides the exact taste of Malabar food! Have personally tried their Chicken biriyani, puyyaapla Choru, porotta, chicken curry, beef Ulrthiyath, and chicken chilli! All one above the other! Would always recommend this place. Top service and great dine in space too! Might be busy on weekends - so be prepared to wait for a table or reserve it beforehand!
Nice place for food, service was good and atmosphere was nice
They dont easily pick up when you call to order, not ordering again
Service is good . Food is horrible . Oily and color . Kallapam doesnt taste like kallapam , just dosa made with grated cocounut . not authentic . porotta is good . naan is horrible . I have to see dentist after eating naan .
The biriyanis are fab! I order online and pre-book the mutton biriyani, every weekend. And a thick raita too! :)
The ambiance is cozy, and the service is prompt. But the real star is the food Highly recommended. Loved the puthiyappila choru
I hate everything there! Bad food and bad servis. Food
Get the chemmeen! Love the roast and fry
TGM serves the best biriyani in my opinion - a perfect 10 out of 10! Their Fish Nirvana dish is also incredibly delicious. However, I have one suggestion for improvement: the salad serving size is a bit small, and I think it would be better if they used larger cups. Overall, highly recommended! Food
The Grand Malabar is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to enjoy delicious, authentic Malabar dishes in a pleasant setting. Highly recommended!
We were told by many of our friends about their puthiyappila choru and we drove 40 km to enjoy it, and it was worth the drive. We also ordered the Fish Nirvana and that too was sumptuous. Overall he food was great as well the service. The only negative I have to say is about the tea we ordered and that was made with milk powder, I dont expect to drink milk powder tea by paying $3.49. If you guys did not have milk that could have been conveyed. Also they did not have enough high chairs, they couldnt provide my son with a high chair. Otherwise this a great place to enjoy authentic Malabar food and being someone from malabar i can confidently say it. But please improve upon the tea.
Good place to take family. Nice seat arrangements. Mine was a takeout chicken biriyani. True kerala/malabar dhum biriyani. I will update my review as I try out other dishes. I would recommend introducing an option to choose boiled egg as an add on for additional price. if I were the only person to ask for it you can ignore but usually biriyani goes with one egg. Other than that amazing tasting food.
Highly recommended, except the fact that its too conjusted dine-in space
Food was nice, I would recommend to go for Red meat if you want to enjoy the curry.
Amazing, everything I ordered was 10/10. Flavourful, fresh and decent quantity. Ordered the butter chicken (10/10), chemmeen shrimp(10/10 - my personal fav!), chicken biryani (7/10) and naan (10/10).
Love their chicken biriyani was passing through waterloo and tried it very authentic.
Vegetarian options: Parata with paneer of dal
Grand Malabar Kerala curries/biryani & parottas on point! Busy weekends = call ahead! True Malabari biryani lovers: same taste back home!
I recently visited grand malabar and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. After dining there, I experienced severe diarrhea, which I believe was caused by the food. I ordered puthiapilla choru, and while they initially seemed tasty, within a few hours, I started feeling unwell. Given that I hadnt eaten anything else that day, Im quite certain the food from here was the culprit. I expected better hygiene standards and food safety practices from a restaurant with such a good reputation. This experience has left me wary of returning and has certainly affected my perception of the establishment. I hope the management takes this seriously and ensures that all necessary measures are taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
I went to this restaurant recently and had a pretty bad experience. Ate the Puthiyapila Choru, and soon after, I had a severe stomach upset. The food tasted good at first, but then I got significant stomach pain. Really disappointing because I had high hopes for this place. I went there the first time it was alright, but not the 2nd time. Hope they fix any food safety issues. Just a heads up for others to be careful with what they order here.
Visited the restaurant yesterday and can t resist myself from putting a review. Been a regular customer for the past 8 9 months. Their Puthiyappila chor is a sure shot item, the combo is very good. The Malabar Chicken Biriyani is equally delicious and has a very good authentic taste. Tried multiple dishes with friends and family several times. The quality of the food stands higher every single time.
I recently dined at Grand Malabar and had a mixed experience. The Fish Nirvana and Appom were delicious, perfectly cooked, and well-balanced. However, the Puthiyapula Chor was disappointing with minimal beef gravy. The PAL Chai, priced at $4, was also a letdown, containing only milk powder instead of real milk it should be called PALPODI Chai instead.I hope you ll into it and make the desired changes.
