Recently I had a good experience at NURI VILLAGE. They started to serve Japanese cuisine. I enjoyed sushi and maki(rolls), which was superb. I strongly want to recommend to enjoy Japanese food.
Nuri restaurant has a Japanese menu adding to Korean food now. I ordered the sushi and sashimi tray last weekend and that was a great and a good price. I will order a tray when I get a Christmas party this weekend.
We had the opportunity to try Nuri Sushi yesterday and to say we were impressed is an understatement!! This place is fantastic! We loved the atmosphere, the sushi and the Amazing food ! I don’t review restaurants often, but this place deserved it! We can’t wait to return soon to share it with more of our family & friends! Thank you to Nuri Sushi for such a wonderful evening
This korean restaurant has been my family's go to place for our dinner. The staffs are friendly and kind with good food for its price. Frankly speaking, the food wasnt at the top-tier before but they have recently got a new chef and a new sushi bar, which made the food quality phenomenal. As a korean myself, definitely an amazing place to go if you want good Korean food and sushi(although i dont want this place becoming too popular as i dont want to wait to be seated haha)
I used to go here for Pork Bone Soup. Now they rebrand the restaurant to also serve bento box and sushi. It worked out well. The lunch promotion is only $13 and is extremely filling. (I think it lasts till October)
Friendly staffs! Foods are okay, just above the average, service is good, much better than other Korean restaurants, response quickly with a smile. Price is good too, $13 for a pork bone soup is unbelievable in 2024. Yes, I recommend this restaurant.
I got the spicy cold noodles, it was really flavour full and delicious. A bit on the pricey side but worth the quality. Would definitely go hear again just for cold noodles.
Our first dinner at Nuri Village was truly a five star hot pot experience! We very much enjoyed the food, which was perfect portions for the price range. The staff were very friendly and offered tasteful suggestions for our meal choice. The atmosphere was bright, open and welcoming! We look forward to coming to Nuri Village again soon. 😇🍜
I ordered the Las Vegas (special maki) at the restaurant today, and it was amazing! The portion was generous, and what surprised me the most was the price only $13.95. Getting such high-quality food at such an incredible price is just unbeatable. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend this fantastic restaurant!
Nuri Village is a delightful recent discovery in the Waterloo-Kitchener area. With so many new Asian restaurants opening, it can be tough to know which ones are worth visiting, but this place stands out. The restaurant is clean, the service is respectful and friendly, and the food is excellent. Highlights include their flavorful seafood pancake, hearty stews, and perfectly prepared Dolsot Bibimbap. For lunch, they offer delicious bento boxes and a great selection of sushi. If you re in the area, I highly recommend giving Nuri Village a try. Enjoy! Vegetarian options: Yes few and tasty Dietary restrictions: It is a menu that have options for vegan, vegetarian and dairy or gluten allergies. Parking: More spaces after rush hours. Kid-friendliness: Yes family friendly and clean Wheelchair accessibility: Outdoor parking and straight to the door if the restaurant
Its really, really good Korean Food! Some of the best Ive had outside of Korea. The prices are more than reasonable and the portions are great value for the dollar. Porkbone Stew (Gamja tang) 9/10 Kimchi Stew 10/10 I cant wait to eat here again when we come to KW.
When we were eating our dishes and we would usually ask for refills and they never had anything against that, We are regulars at this restaurant, Then one day we walked in like last week on Wednesday, and the lady who is the manager of the restaurant was being rude she declined our request for side dishes and said We only give one refill and you guys are already done your food you shouldn t be asking for more side dishes this was very disrespectful given that it made us realise this manager was only acting like a good person all those times just for a tip and not as a person who should be treating her customers nicely and giving them the dishes that they want. No one should go to a place like this if a manager has an attitude like this. We are never coming to this place again.
Very authentic and delicious food! The food is very flavorful.
Worst place to go to for take away. Im not sure about the dine-in. Please donot go there for take away. They donot respect others time. The refund was given to me but they have already wasted my 30+ mins of my time.
the waiter spilled some soup on my friend but then gave us dumplings and a drink on the house. very kind, compassionate people and consistently good food!
Decent food for the price, Loved the side dishes and the fresh kimchi,!
They have a japanese food menu now along with their korean food menu. Very delicious sushi!
Food always lets me down and is average or below average, there are better Korean places in the area.
I should have written a review long ago after my first visit, but I forgot. They truly truly deserve one because upon the warm welcoming service to the delicious food, it is the place to go for Korean food. Since being out here and leaving Toronto I ve been searching for good quality Korean food and I m happy I found it. It really reminds me of a place I loved in Korea town Toronto. I highly recommend the spicy pork, spicy chicken, soft tofu pork stew and the seafood pancake, oh so yummy and delicious!!! So flavourful. The portions are very big too. You will be left very satisfied. Thank you for always giving the best experience.
100% recommended! Amazing food!
We liked the samgyetang, which had flavourful broth and a big piece of ginseng. The galbitang was also good and had large pieces of beef. The gamjatang was pretty standard, but it was only $9.99 during the winter special! We also liked the side dish potatoes because they were fluffy but not dry. The interior is large, but it was a bit cold inside, and the chairs were not very comfortable. Overall, its a decent place to get Korean food.
We tried aged kimchi hotpot and it s super tasty. Highly recommend, this place will become our favourite Korean restaurant.
Excellent - went here with my family (visiting kids at university). Fresh, hot food. Generous portions. Friendly and efficient service. Will definitely come back again
Great food, great vibe, great prices BUT very disappointed they dont offer halal meat options. Id definitely give it a 5 if they did.
Bibim Naengmyeon wasn t that great. The sauce had an herb in it, I think, that wasn t that pleasant to chew. My friend s tonkatsu rice had 2 candied eyes in it, which we thought was cute. Tonkatsu was a bit dry. Service was nice, they were really friendly.
Their foods are always great! Before the pandemic they used to close around 9pm then started to push you, also compare with other Korean cuisines in the plaza, they were more expensive a seafood pancake was $18.95 . My recent visit was 2 days ago, foods still amazing, decent portions, good service, and menu price same as pre pandemic, which is more reasonable now! Will come more often!
Very nice restaurant. Service is very good
Good taste and delicious.
Great service. Korean food wasn t the best it was good
The food was great Love their side dishes too!
My husband and I enjoy coming to this Restaurant. Food always good. I usually get the soups... (The special ) :-) Food
absolutely delicious kimchi fried rice 10/10.
20+tax with only three beef
Amazing place and great food, even better staff. My only disappointment is the customers. My boyfriend and I are going out after eating here, and he didnt want to get his hands full of sauce eating chicken, so he was eating it with chopsticks. I could hear everyone around us making comments about it. Made him have a very hard time trying to enjoy his meal, and made me feel uncomfortable. I wish people could just mind their own business.
The food is generally salty. I ordered gamjatang and it was hearty and had more meat than vegetables.
Chicken was definitely amazing. Really liked their sweet potato and white fruit thingy! Chicken was huge portions! Staff were so friendly. Nuri Nuri Nuri - sing it with me! Parking: It do be spacious
The place looks brand new because their last renovation! The service is great with the details and is always willing to help you! Parking: At certain hours is difficult to find one because is a university zone Kid-friendliness: This is perfect for all ages!
Delicious
Came with a friend. Ordered the Ramen Gamja-tang and food came super quickly. Service was really nice, offering tea refills and side dish refills often. The dish I ordered was also on winter special pricing which was nice, cheaper than anticipated. The food itself was very good, very hot and very tasty. It even comes with a side of rice so there was so much to eat. Tap to pay available, and will be back again!
We arrived at 11:30 in the evening and they were open until 12 oclock, but the waiter still received us very warmly! Thank you for your hard work My husband ordered a bowl of fried noodles and I ordered potato and pork bone soup. They were both delicious, but not particularly delicious either. Although the side dishes and the accompanying bowl of rice are not very good, at least it is good to have a bowl of hot soup at such a late night here.
Server was really nice to us. Good price with good quality of Korean food! Highly recommend the black sauce noodle and pork bone soup Food
We had a amazing experience here. The food was delicious and finger Licking good and the service was excellent.
Foods good. Brought my 1year old and the server gave us recommendations for choices. For a place next to the university, we didnt feel out of place eating there as a family. Will definitely go back and try the hot pot. We order Korean fried chicken, bibimbap
One of the Korean restaurants I frequently visit as it s in the plaza & super convenient location + staff members are friendly, food is okay!
Went in for dinner with my girlfriend, food was tasting great, but then she and I both noticed a rat near the bathroom door. I didnt want to make a scene, so politely I whispered to who I thought was the owner because he was bringing boxes in what we noticed....... well he decided to yell at me You leave now, Go now! I hope that the Canadian Food Inspectors who I reported this to shut him down. This place does not deserve the minimum 1 star rating.
Soup was good, but takoyaki wasn t even heated enough, it is still a bit frozen inside. Service was very nice but the cashier s attitude was horrible. She could even chase out and ask for tips although I already paid 15%.
The food was ok! Nothing was special.
Affordable, healthy, and tasty. I usually get the bulgolgi beef bibimbap
ALWAYS a hit! The food is delicious and comes quickly. I eat here at least once a month.
The banchan was a great starter, they got braised potatoes, bean sprouts, and kimchi. Each of them was fresh and had a distinct flavor that blended perfectly with the main dish. The bibimbap was absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich and balanced, and the portion size was just enough. The only downside was that the service could be slow when the restaurant got busy, it also will hurt your wallet abit. However, once the food arrived, it was clear that it was worth the wait. The dishes were served fresh and hot, and the servers were nice and attentive.
I recently had the opportunity to visit Nuri Village located within UW Plaza and I must say, it was a wonderful experience! I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice and Yangnyeom Fried Chicken, and both dishes were incredibly delicious. The Chicken Fried Rice was cooked to perfection, with a nice balance of flavours, and the Yangnyeom Fried Chicken was crispy and flavorful. The presentation was fantastic - the restaurant really takes pride in its food. Although the prices were a bit steep for certain dishes, the quality of the food was great! Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the food and highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a delicious Korean meal. Tasty tasty! Best spot on the plaza! Having eaten at the plaza for many years, I ve noticed Nuri Village uses higher-quality ingredients compared to their competitors. Consistently good experience! If they ever mess up you still know they were trying their hardest and that it was just a mistake! Go in and be treated to the best Waterloo has to offer.
goat korean spot goat gamjatang
holy W
BBQ Pork & Cheese I ve been here countless times. Yet this is my recent pic and order. I just love this dish! And the side dishes: sprouts and sweet potatoes!! *side dishes are only allowed to reorder for free once* services are friendly and nice.
There was a weird taste in their Gamjatang, and my friend and I thought it was a bit sus at first but eventually convinced ourselves that that s just the way they cook it .UNTIL the next morning when we both got food poisoning. Lesson learned: always trust your intuition when it comes to food safety. This is the first time and def also the last time that we eat at this place.
Had dinner here a couple of days ago with some friends. Had pork bone soup as main with other dishes as a side. The soup was a little sour but since we had other dishes we didn t realize anything was off. Got home and had to #2 right away. Message friends and we all had the same problem. Stomach still hurts as I m typing this
I think I got scammed into paying more I heard the cashier say someone paid for my order and then they put the price up even more like dawg? food was ok but that was just not nice :/ I shouldn t have tipped I regret it now
We ordered three dishes for takeout and they didn t pack sauce for the bibimbap and Donkatsu, the two dishes tasted terrible. I do not recommend ordering takeout from this place.
Came here with my girlfriend who was craving kimchi since owl Minerva wasn t open yet. Only one refill for each of the three side dishes (the mung beans weren t good) which defeated the purpose of coming here for the side dishes. $0.50 charge each takeout box. I recommend owl Minerva once it opens.
My family went here for my husband s birthday celebration. The food was okay but the service was so bad. We are still eating and the guys started cleaning and washing the floors on the dining area and the smell of the chemicals from the cleaning materials they are using are so strong that cause us to losing our appetite. Told them if they can stop until we finished our meal and the guy just left the cleaning bucket beside our table. And started talking and laughing with his co worker. So Rude! And this is the only place I know that s charging for the take out box for our left over food. it s like .50 each box and it was so small. Never again going in this place. Rude employee.Bad service!
Since its a chain restaurant I used to like in Korea, I really wanted to visit this branch as well. However, Im afraid to visit after reading the reviews. It seems like something needs improvement.
Went with a group, the food was good and filling. One person got a dish that was too salty, but the staff kindly made her a new one as soon as they saw she hadnt touched it. Would come again.
Politeness and sanitation is not on the menu
Have been there twice with my family. We always leave with a clean plate and full bellies. Super polite and attentive staff and wholesome atmosphere. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for affordable and delicious authentic Korean food.
recommend no to go, the taste is pretty much different to take away.
I think this place should have a better rating. Food is good, not amazing and service is pretty quick. Don t expect your servers to visit your table often unless you need something, which I think is ok! I liked the seafood pancake and fried chicken, the tteokbokki tastes a bit watered down though.
If you miss Korean food, definitely go. I highly recommend it.
Better than Onnuri
Wonderful! Loved the ramen
Diarrhea severely afterwards. Since I only got my meal from this restaurant, then my food poisoning must be from it.
$28.19 after tax for portion like this lol sauce is super sour and the meat is meh you are better off ordering at onnuri. This place used to be better few years ago, not sure what happened
Omggggggggggggg they re the best. I became their regular since I moved to Waterloo. Must try cheeseling boneless fried chicken and bulgogi.
I rarely eat Korean food. I just went there by accident, and found out it s a real gem in University Plaza! I don t know what to order, and asked for an advice, I told the owner I m a meat-eater, then she suggest potato pork bone hot pot. It s fabulous! Very tasty! And the potion is very good! I will definitely go there again! BTW, their Kimchi is 100x better than the one from Costco.
Friendly service, food was cheap and delicious. Since I came from far away, the owner even gave me dumpling service.
I ordered takeout from this restaurant and was shocked to find a fly in the pork bone soup. it was truly disgusting. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
interior changed recently. Affordable price, big portion, and nice service Food
We visited this restaurant on a hot September weekend. The inside was very warm and they had a big fan and a portable A/C running. The portable A/C was blowing warm air. We ordered a buckwheat noodle in cold beef soup to combat the heat. Also ordered a jajangmyeon and a bulgogi bibimbap. The food and side dishes were average. It was busy that night so it was really noisy. Service was just minimum.
We went there to get lunch and I personally ordered buckwheat cold noodle dish and my friend ordered a bowl of beef bulgolgi rice. The price was so high and the service is not that great, either. The food was mid which does not worth the money we spent ($17 for my dish and they only give me one thin piece of meet, half an egg and a bunch of noodles). During checkout, we were very dissatisfied with what we got and the service so we decided to not tip any and the Asian middle-aged lady at the counter scolded us for not tipping and said that we would have to get our food ourselves from the kitchen if it wasnt for the waiter. So now that I know that that restaurant was expecting us to mandatory tip to pay the waiter salary? Although the service was very bad and below average food? I would not recommend this place to any UW students or any of my friends.
Don t know why they are not offering hot water/tea anymore. Used to like their hot tea a lot.
Tried their Gamjatang and Yukgaejang. Gamjatang was mediocre but Yukgaejang was great!
I m not a fan of the new renovation, feels less authentic and more empty with the white walls. But food and service are still up to par. Servers are always nice and food are appropriately portioned.
I couldn t finish the gamjatang because it was cold and smelled fishy.
Nuri changed. The interior is wider, but the flavour is not as good as it used to be. It s more expensive with less flavours now. The chicken was blander. The soup was salty- but not flavourful. Japchae is good as always, but other than that- nuri is no longer on my top go-to places anymore
Bad experience. Old man (owner? Manager?) was screaming at servers while we are eating!! and kamjatang smells bad as I heard.. never coming back.
The taste of the food was just so-so, but the server seemed to be very poor. The young male server just left the food without saying anything while serving it, and the young female server suddenly took the untouched bowl lid and left without asking, or it wasnt there yet. Every time I go there, there are cases where people just take things like unfinished dishes and put them away. The honey garlic chicken was disappointing because it had no honey garlic flavor at all and just tasted like honey sprinkled on top of fried chicken. I think it would be better to focus a little more on service rather than food, but its a shame.
Went to Nuri Village after seeing the $9.99 gam ja tang special on the window. I mean for $9.99 + tax + tip, u cant go wrong lol. The pork bone soup was nothing special, I was not expecting to be blown out of this world, but it was a wholesome heartly meal after a cold day and for $9.99 you cant go wrong. Meat falls off the bone, soup is good and lots of side dishes. Free refills of water and tea. Overall I was very satisfied. Especially with the price.
the owner whom i usually call ahjussi has always been nice and welcoming. noodle pork bone soup is my go-to, and literally 10/10 every single time.
GAMJATANG
We are HUGE Korean food lovers and this restaurant reminds us of what we used to get in Korea town in Toronto and San Francisco. The food is amazing, service is great and the ambiance is that of a wonderful family owned restaurant. We will definitely be back very soon!
I had a really amazing experience here. Our food was delicious and came with pickled vegetables that were a welcome surprise. I normally dont leave reviews but I felt bad when my Muslim friend accidentally got a soup with pork, as we werent too familiar with Korean food. They remade the soup for us, thank you and I am so sorry for the inconvenience! As we were leaving I left my bag in the restaurant and a member of the waitstaff ran out to find me and give it back. Thank you all for the amazing service and I cant wait to eat here again!
Horrendous and slow service and my food had hair in it and they refused to refund.
Seriously? Cham pong tastes way too fishy And Fried pork was not even crispy at all and didnt had any seasoning so couldnt eat without sauce. Im only judging with only 2 menus in that store but from what Ive eaten, these 2 are pretty bad
Just ordered tofu stew, pork bone soup and fried chicken with my friends, we drove 8kms to there, but when we got home, only one rice packed, missing one more rice which should be included in the order. How do you want me and my friend share one rice??? This is not the 1st time missing items in my order, last time I order green onion fried chicken, but you didn t give me sauce and green onion. Please pay attention to the order and double check before giving to your customer, ok?
Tastes like home! I got the TangSuYuk, Kkanpunggi and Tteok Mandu Guk (Happy Lunar New Year!)
I havent tried all their menu, but took chicken dupa (maybe!) and it was great. I really liked the fact that the chef himself brought our meal.
Super tasty food , amazing stuff, extremely recommended.
i don t usually give reviews but I went here with my boyfriend and we were really happy with the experience, good service, make you fell that you re welcome here.
Tteokbokki is good, but my friend and I found pork bone soup is a bit bland.
First time ordering from here. Great experience! Ordered takeout and it travelled VERY well (about 20 minutes). Impressive! Ordered rice cakes, black bean noodles and plain fried chicken. My 5 and 3 year old LOVED it. A nice surprise was the extra containers with condiments containing various radishes, kimchi etc. Nice touch! Generous portions as well. We have enough leftover to enjoy for another meal! Well done Nuri Village!
My favorite resteraunt . Amazing food. They are always so friendly. I get the black bean noodles everytime. Yummm
Hands down my favorite Korean restaurant! Ive never been disappointed during any of my numerous visits. The food always tastes amazing, the food comes quickly, and the service is great. I highly recommend this place!
There is no comparison with nearby Korean restaurants. I highly recommend it
A big group had arrived shortly before us but service was still pretty fast. Our kimchi pancake and dolsot bibimbap were delicious and the prices were reasonable. I appreciated that the staff were still masked
Delicious food amazing Kimche and all food great. Very nice and friendly service
I love this place and I have the pork bone soup it was excellent.
This is my second time coming here and this place is amazing, everything I had was so tasty. The surroundings are cute and welcoming. 100% will be coming back *3rd time coming back and its still the best place in the area, will most likely order/come in everytime I get a chance to. Thank you guys!!
The bang zi is really disgusting, and the water is not added on purpose so that customers can eat it and leave quickly. I have the smell of black feet from the 2002 World Cup
I felt like the portions were really small considering the price for the meal. I ordered the bibimbap and it was quite a small portion. I also did not get enough sauce (they give it out in a little container as opposed to a full bottle). It was tasty, but nothing extremely special.
Me and my friend were randomly ordering food from here and found HAIR particle from the food..!! Not once twice, such a pity. Ordered the Honey garlic dip but not received. Very miserable experience. Recommend not to try takeouts or ordering from here.
Used to be my favourite local Korean but not as good as it was prior to the pandemic. Feels like dishes dropped in quality all around despite higher prices.
I would say Im not very familiar with Korean food but I did enjoy my pork bone soup at least thats what I thought I got and the appetizers were good too... The people there were nice as well, the waiter helped us make decisions on what most people order but we ended up just getting what we thought looked the best anyways I would say try this place its a little pricey but I think a lot of that came down to the Korean alcohol I ordered which was super strong and very expensive, all in all good experience
Very good.
Love this place!
My friends and I loved this place!! Visited yesterday and had a delicious meal :)
Great food.
Its a yummy resturant. Like its pretty tasty. I ate the food there. It was good. You should eat the food there too. If you had the chance make sure to visit, you know, to eat the food there.
Staff is sweet. Food is great. Huge portions
nice
Their food is really under avg level Korean restaurant in Toronto area is always the best!
Food is okay. But waiter attitude is TERRIBLE!!!!!!
poor service
Poor service so I purposefully did not tip. The owner tried to force me to tip and told me next time I should order takeout or go to McDonalds instead. Very unprofessional and I will not be coming back.
I really like their bibimbap. Good Korean food
Amazing food. Spice levels are generally low, keeping this place accessible for all backgrounds.
Delicious food. Great service.
Moved recently from Mississauga to Waterloo area Same great taste and service
Delicious food & friendly service..
very haha fun
Came here today (Sunday) evening with my daughter & son for an early dinner. Ordered stone bowl Bibimbap (Bulgogi, Spicy Pork and Spicy Chicken). Food portion size was good, the side kimchi was delicious. The Bulgogi and the Spicy Pork tasted really good; the chicken was slightly bland. This place appears to be family run - the owner father (elderly gentleman) even came by the table to check in how everything was. The young server (possibly the owners son) was courteous and polite. Overall had a good experience. Price was reasonable as well.
People there are very friendly and the food is great. Favourite Korean restaurant in the plaza.
Food was okay, service was poor and rude.
the buddae jiggae is so yummy!!! great service and great food
Not sure why the reviews are so low
We ordered take out and found mould on kimchi when we got home.
The prices are good and the food is amazing. Had much more than enough for 15 bucks. The waitress was also really nice and constantly checked on us. Overall great experience!!
Very good quality for the price! Weve been over a dozen times now and will surely be back for more :)
Good prices and tasty food. Large variety of Korean cuisine from stews to fried chicken. Everything that I have tried so far has been excellent and top tier in terms of Korean food. I recommend their Gamjatang and Pa Dak fried chicken. Staff is also helpful and friendly.
10/10 we ordered 2 mains and got so many delicious little sides with it. Including various kimchi, potatoes, miso soup and japchae !! Everything was amazing. The Tteokbokki had a nice spice while still sweet. Amazing !!
Nice and delicious Korean meals. I visited this restaurant whenever I want to have Jjajangmyun (black noodles) and I am glad I can have the possibility to have this dish. The owner is always kind and friendly as well. Quite nice restaurant to recommend.
The combo image is a scam and when I complained about the tiny bulgogi they said tough luck basically
Having spent 6 years in South Korea, I can say that this place offers authentic Korean Food and service-- from the refillable side dishes, to the house-made kimchi, to the food service when you order a lot. I would say that the samgiupsal is not exactly the same as you would have in South Korea because of they meat quality, but it is unreasonable to expect import meat. They have done the best compared to the many Korean restaurants Ive been to in Canada. They nailed it with the Kimchi Chigae-- faves

I ordered jajangmyeon and yangnuam chicken. However yangnuam chickens inside it was not perfectly cooked it was pink on the middle and its dangerous to cook non-fully cooked chicken so i and my son had to throw the chicken away and also it has less chicken in it. I want to know how to get a refund. It smells raw chicken inside my mouth. Its disgusting.
Decent affordable Korean restaurant in a large plaza that has lots of food options. We tried the seafood panjeon and the combo that came with a cold noodle naengmyeon and a spicy pork dish. The hot plate options for the combos are quite small but tasted good. The few slices of beef in the cold noodle were crazy overcooked and dry though. Panjeon was nice and crispy but not that much seafood. Wont be the best Korean food you find around here but itll hit the spot.
The food was mediocre. It wasnt good nor was it bad. However, the service here is shxt. The person who took my orders was wonderful, but the owner of this place is an absolute trash. I finished paying with my friends and was about to head out until the owner stopped us to lecture us about how it is common manners to pay tips. I personally didnt pay the tip because 1. I found hair in my stew and 2. I am a broke university student. Anyways, she was scolding us about not paying tip so I told her about the hair and left. I am still furious of how she was forcefully trying to make uni students to pay tips and also how she reacted when I mentioned about the hair. She asked why I didnt say anything about the hair in the first place as if it was wrong of me to stay quiet about it. I simply didnt wanted to make a scene so I had my mouth shut, but I guess I should have said it.
I was disappointed that the cold noodles were not seasoned, and it was too warm even its a cold noodles. However, among the side dishes served together, a side dish made of potatoes was delicious.
I always get their korean fried chicken and it slaps everytime.
Great value
Up to 2021, this is my No.1 restaurant in Waterloo, including both dine-ins and takeouts.
Great food and customer service. Love the ambiance. Will definitely be back!
Delicious food and friendly service!
I likes the foods. Jajang noodle taste delicious. I just wish there are more onions in the sauce. Spicy ricecake is also awesome. One of the best Korean restaurant in town. The only bad is the macaroni side dish. It seems old. I ordered second times, japchae and rolled egg omelette. Both dishes are delicious.
Food was so good, gave us lots of ban chan. Server was kind and made dining experience wonderful. Definitely would come back
Best Korean food in Waterloo!
The food is spectacular. Our food came out crazy fast too. Will be coming back
Its an adequete Korean restaurant. Below is more detail, but for a quick summary, its cheap and has great selection but the food quality is not up to par. Pros: - Its got affordable prices. Perfect for any broke university student craving Korean. The basic bone soup is $10, which is a lot cheaper than most other restaurants. - Lots of variety. Their menu is a couple pages long, and filled with various dishes. Tons of appetizers, noodles, soups, etc. - Korean! Its Korean cuisine. Cannot rate authenticity (havent eaten at much) but meals come with nice side dishes and taste authentic enough to my untrained tongue. Cons: - Some food options were not up to par. A friend had the seafood pancake, and the green onions were basically raw. Ive gotten underseasoned food here, and food with very little portions of meat. It may be because of the vast menu, but sometimes the food strikes well, sometimes its alright, and sometimes it goes below my expectations.
I went to Nuri on Sunday, November 28th with my girlfriend and my mum and ordered the table BBQ. That day I had the best customer experience Ive ever had in any restaurant in Waterloo. Ive been to Nuri plenty of times, and its always been a safe choice for Korean food in the University area. However, that night when we ordered Table BBQ, the woman that was our waitress that night made Nuri an exceptional choice for Korean food. She cooked our meat for us and gave us fantastic suggestions/new ideas on how to eat the meat. She was very kind and attentive, and even told me to eat my vegetables for health reasons. Incredibly amazing and memorable experience. It made me feel like I was at home!
food was good but the restaurant didnt really resemble a village :/
Enjoyed my dinner! Food was prepared fast, tasted delicious and the service was friendly. Tasted really authentic. Not fancy, Its in the University plaza, but the food was really well prepared and presentation was great!
They forced me to leave them a tip. I didnt leave them a tip because I didnt like their service. I dont understand their attitudes at all. I am a customer and you are the servers.
Really good place to come by yourself or with a group. The food is really good and has reasonable prices. Also the staff is very nice.
I love Korean food and I always go to this place when Im in town for their bulgogi bibimbap. Unlimited refills on sides and corn/barley tea! One of the reasons Im drawn to this location. The downside is that the bowl isnt a hot stone bowl, instead its a thicker plastic of bowl thats not too hot.
I tried the Kimchi Jjigae. Its yummy comfort food! And I love the sidings too! Will definitely go back to try the other dishes. Not enough pork, but its ok for the price ~
Ordered food for pickup during quarantine and they gave such big portions! Lots of side dishes to go along with our main meal. I always get bulgogi bibimbap here!! Five stars.
Great place to get Korean food
The food tastes good, the tableware is exquisite, and the service is acceptable. The portion of the dish is on the small side, so you need more to eat!
Not sure why so many people seem to moan about the service. If you want something just ask for it; the staff arent going to hover around you like its a Kelseys. This is pretty much the case for any Korean, Viet-Thai or semi-authentic Chinese restaurant. I love this spot for the yukgaejang and occasional seafood ramyun. Sit down is best, but even the take out is pretty great and theres no shortage of side dishes with your order.
Really great food, only thing would be the portion of fish on my meal was very small. Otherwise, such delicious food and great service.
Service and food is good.
I tried a fried chicken and it has a bitter taste...
Went there yesterday and we had great food. First time for us to try Korean food. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our friends will try today based on our recommendation! Hope they like it too!
