KINTON RAMEN WATERLOO in Waterloo

We order through uber eat for 2 people combo. By the time it arrives it was 78.96 CAD without tips. The meal consisted of 2 beers, 4 pc of small gyoza. 2 ramens that at Walmart would coast 3 $. Each ramen had 2 thin slices oglf meat and it was nor a meal enough for 2 people. The cost of this stuff frozen at a grocery store would probably not more that 8 CAD and 8 CAD for beers. It was a total ripped off. Do not order from them. Also the food arrived cold and we had to add broth and microwave. We had to order pizza after that. So our total dinner cost more than 150$ It would be better to go out for dinner

Had a super unfortunate service experience today when picking up a takeout order. I usually pop into Kinton as we live around the corner and have always had a pleasant experience. I ordered takeout online today, and when I went to grab the order, I stood in the please wait to be seated area for about 10 minutes, waiting for someone to greet me. There was a delivery driver ahead of me, who the staff acknowledged. I figured they were busy and I would just wait until I was next in line. I made eye contact with the staff a few times, to which I was ignored. The dude ahead of me got his orders and left. I stood there again, trying to flag a staff member down to even acknowledge my existence in the tiny ramen joint. Another delivery driver came in and was acknowledged right away. Super frustrating at this point. I had to walk up to the counter and wave one the staff members down to let them know I was there for a pick up order. When I asked why I had been left at the door while two other people had been served, I was met with a lukewarm response that could be boiled down to sorry, we re busy . Just a super weird excuse when the staff wasn t too busy to immediately greet two delivery drivers. I ll probably head up the street to Ajisen from now on.

Tbh the menu is a bit small but pricey. It is a decent store with a decent reputation but i would suggest other ramen shops.

food was delicious. though we came twice in the last two months and both times service was extremely poor unorganized, slow, forgetful. had to ask for waters 3 times, food came out very slow - really brought down the experience.

So disappointed in this place. We know ramen - we have lived in various parts of Asia. The noodles themselves were terrible - did not seem fresh. There was almost NO TOPPINGS in terms of fresh veg and there was a single piece of tofu in the entire dish. Bought a vegetarian one and we will say that the broth was very good. But absolutely no substance to the dish. This is an establishment that specializes in ONE thing. Paying $18 for this is outrageous.

I had a disappointing experience at this location. Despite not ordering any dishes with eggs, my bowl arrived with egg yolk residue on it. When I informed the server, the dish was inspected and returned with the explanation that eggs dropped onto it, but its clean. While the server was apologetic and offered complimentary cheesecake, the managers lack of engagement and ownership was disappointing. The manager stood behind the bar, looked at me and shook her head, and the entire conversation was within earshot from my table. It also looked like she scratched at the residue with her fingernail, and then proceeded to send the bowl back to our table. I hope this feedback prompts improved attention to detail, cleanliness and customer service. Every other Kinton location I have been to is amazing and I hope this one can meet the same standards.

I order Pork spicy garlic ramen and it was out of world. The soup broth was so delicious and noodle was perfectly cooked. I would definitely recommend this if someone love spicy. Our server Nico was very polite , professional and was making sure that we are enjoying our food. He also gives us their chilli powder if we want to make our ramen extra spicy .

Had kinton for the first time, my go to place is sansotei ramen (near fairview). The quality of the ingredients just dont feel as good or authentic. The chashu pork meat was SUPER FATTY. At sansotei the meat is super tender and falls apart in your bowl and the flavor of the meat permeates through the ramen which enriches the broth even more. The chashu pork at Kinton did not have this texture or flavor. The noodles were a bit springy and and felt more similar to an instant ramen texture, but not bad. Broth was the best part, but I still prefer sansotei. Overall, not bad, but theres better ramen places. If you have not tried it, try sansotei. You wont be disappointed.

We had high expectations for this location, having visited the Brampton one before. We ordered the pork miso and beef spicy garlic ramen with extra pork. The soup was phenomenal as always, but the meat didn t meet our expectations it was thinner than what we re used to at the other location and wasn t cooked properly. Despite this, we d still return to Kinton

The atmosphere here is really lovely, Rose was very friendly to us. We were in total 7 people and had vegetarian and pork and beef ramen. I have pork miso ramen with Nori and seaweed with seasoned egg. The ramen had good flavours. But sorry to say i couldn t finish it all. Overall it was a really good experience, the food, the service all was good.

I ve been a regular customer at this place, but my experience last night August 25, about 8:30pm, was extremely disappointing. The Asian lady who took our order was really impatient and unprofessional. I had a simple question about the price of a combo, which I thought seemed too low. I asked if the $14.99 combo included one noodle, one drink, and one fries. Instead of clarifying, she responded with an annoyed expression and said it only includes the broth. The menu clearly shows pork and chicken options, so I was really confused by what she meant. What made it worse was her attitude she didn t even try to explain further and just stood there with her iPad in silence, making the whole situation very awkward. If your job is to introduce the menu to customers, then do it properly. If you don t want to, at least drop the attitude. The entire time she repeated our order with a blank face and spoke so fast that I felt completely disrespected. To be fair, the other two waitresses, Rose and another whose name I didn t catch, were very kind and professional. They smiled and were gentle, which is why I still left a tip. However, the service from the lady who took our order was unacceptable. I hope the management will improve the training of their staff to ensure this doesn t happen again.

Flavor and food quality are adequate. I have had better ramen for less money in KW. The portion sizes are small especially for the price. I would recommend trying Exclamation on Hickory. The portions are larger and flavors more authentic and tasty. My last visit to Kinton I ordered the spicy garlic ramen and gyozas, I had water to drink. After tipping I was shocked to be paying $40 for myself. Service is basic. Staff are friendly and bring your food in a timely manner. They may or may not check-in to see if you need a refill or how the food is. Nothing to rave about pretty standard service. The atmosphere is off. The music is exceptionally loud or at least it was when I was there. It was difficult to have conversation. Some of the tables near the entrance get crowded with people standing over you waiting for food or to pay. Will likely not be returning especially considering the price and meh experience overall.

This review is long overdue, me and my friends visited the restaurant a few weeks back, the service was top notch. I was not a fan of Japanese food until I had some from Kinton. The main highlight was the service, kudos to Salma, Rose and Nico who took great care of us. Keep up the great service.

Word of advice for ordering, make sure you have the server repeat the order back and read it off their tablet. They read it back to us and still managed to get it wrong. We ordered the couples ramen special, ordered the exact same thing, only thing different was the drink order. They somehow messed it up, while granted they took the wrong order back they never explained how they messed that up, and I let my wife get the fresh order and I went with the soggy noodles that sat around waiting for the other order to come out. The food overall was fine, otherwise Id give 1 star. Wouldnt go back though, thats just a terrible first impression.

Ive tasted at least half the menu options (combinations) here at my favourite ramen joint in town. The pork broth is satisfyingly rich and flavourful the Pork Original Ramen showcases this the best. Miso Ramen is another favourite with the different toppings when I feel like changing things up. Garlic Ramen oh boy, I hope you LOVE garlic! The Chilled Tsukemen is another one I enjoy during the hot summer. The Chicken Karaage and Chicken/Pork Donburi are nice and juicy and flavourful, but I havent ordered them as often since their prices went up.

I loved the beef donburi, would love for it to be full sized place is quite small but still good.

The food was not *bad*, but it was exceptionally mediocre and overpriced for how overwhelmingly mediocre it was. The menu was misleading with respect to the price of some of the ramen bowls, with the toppings not being included in the price. The place was lively and clean, but the food has a tremendous way to go because the flavor is currently just barely on par with convenience store cup noodles.

20 dollar meal, just one piece of tofu in the veg miso. Paid for extra mushrooms, but horrible value for what is essentially cup noodles.

Got takeout with extra pork for $3.99. Extra pork was missing, and the portion included was so small. This is the 2nd time theyve messed up an order.

I recently dined at your restaurant and was disappointed by the service. My wifes dish arrived promptly, but after a 10-minute wait, my meal (Beef Mazemen) still hadnt been served. When I inquired about it, I wasn´t informed that there had been a mistake and it was being prepared. Unfortunately, I had to wait another 10 minutes for my food. To make matters worse, when we were ready to pay, we were brought the wrong bill. I am disappointed that there was no apology for this subpar experience. I hope you will take steps to improve your service in the future.

This may sound strange but I m leaving this review to recommend this place purely for how great their water is. Pure bliss. I don t know how they ve done it, but it is the most delicious and hydrating water I have ever had. A monument to the human tradition of hydration. The ramen is good too.

The credit card machine was extremely difficult to work with, taking four tries to process my payment. Despite the restaurant being very empty at 4:30 pm, it was hard to find a server. Each time the card failed, I had to wait about 5 minutes for a server to assist. Additionally, the noodles were not as good as they used to be. Sadly, I will not be returning.

Kinton Ramen is absolutely one of my favourite spots to sit in and enjoy lunch or dinner. Food is always delicious, the atmosphere is great, and the staff are wonderful people.
