Browns Socialhouse at 255 Northfield Dr E, Waterloo. There was great music and atmosphere throughout the restaurant, even on the HEATED patio! There was a great selection of food and the food came out hot and very tasty! @Browns Food

Dont go there on your birthday or any occassion. They dont care if you are there celebrating something. First fine dining restaurant I have been to in my life that doesnt even give you something to recognize you birthday. (Most places give you a complimentary dessert) most places care you decided to spend your dinner with them on an occasion. That in itself isnt the end of the world, but they are just geared to rush you out the door. We ordered our drinks far before we ordered our food, and the meal came out before we finished half of my 385ml beer. Its a fine place, but never go there on any occasion. I know I likely wont be back for quite a while.

I can t give Brown s a review on their food because I didn t get that far. I had a babysitter lined up for Thursday evening for my husband and I to enjoy a meal together. I tried to book a reservation online but it doesn t let you reserve a table online for after 4pm. After calling on Wednesday, I was told that they don t take reservations for groups of less that 4 people. Cool. I asked if Thursdays are busy. No response. I was told to call 20 mins before arriving to be put on a waitlist. What the heck kind of policy is that? When arriving on Thursday, the hostess said the wait was 1hr 35mins. She said I should have called on my way. I don t know how people who have responsibilities can ever get served here. Remember the part where said I had a babysitter?? I live in the country. Even if I did call, I d still be waiting an 1hr+ for a table, the texting system is not an accessible system. We hopped in the car and drove to State and Main. No wait, excellent meal. There s something seriously lopsided about the way Brown s is being ran. Food not coming out fast enough? Not enough staff? Absolutely ridiculous not to accept reservations for 2. Sadly I ll never know what the hype is about because I ll be taking my business elsewhere.

Our first time coming to this restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! From the second we walked in we were treated so well. Everyone was very friendly and personable and our server was very attentive. We will absolutely return. Thank you for everything.

I have been to Browns Social many times and have always enjoyed the customer service, atmosphere and the food. On Sunday, I shared a plate of nachos with my friend and they were delicious! I ordered the key lime pie to take home to my husband as it is one of his favourite desserts. I was very disappointed in the portion size. I spoke to the manager who agreed that the portion was small but said it was the corporate policy to serve the small size for $10.00. I asked for a 2nd piece for free and shared that I wouldn t order the pie again due to my disappointment in the size and portion. The manager did give me a 2nd piece for free but I was disappointed that she did not offer it to begin with.

Great food but food felt like it was reheated. Fruit flies galore around us. Waitress took forever to bring our bill.

The service was good but the music is always way too loud. I m not sure what the point of it being so loud is. The food options for vegetarians is not great. The parking lot is always horrendous and there s no availability

This place has the best dine-in vibes in Waterloo. Its ambience makes you want to sit down and enjoy your meal and company. The place is also always crowded so you know you won t just be the only ones in the restaurant. The food is okay, nothing amazing but not horrible. The drinks are kind of weak.

I got the food for soul food is called in the back no napkin no ketchup I come back to the restaurant I ask him for ketchup and napkin and fork. She start fighting with me she say you not asking for it I order food supposed to be napkin, fork,come with that bad customer service never ever come back again she s yelling and swearing behind me until the door

We got the nachos which were just okay, and I got the blackened chicken Alfredo. The chicken was excellent, but the Alfredo sauce is pretty basic tasting. Great drinks, good atmosphere, but the food didn t knock it out of the park for me. Would try something else next time- probably a burger.

I dropped by Brown s Socialhouse in Waterloo recently with my colleage, looking for a laid-back spot to enjoy a lunch and I wasn t disappointed. The place has this great vibe warm lighting, a casual yet polished atmosphere, and friendly service that makes you feel right at home. Now, let s talk about the food. Parmesan Fries with Onion Dip: These were a total hit! The fries came out crispy and golden, topped with a generous dusting of Parmesan and a sprinkle of fresh parsley. What really took it up a notch was the onion dip creamy, with just the right amount of savory flavor. It was one of those appetizers where you take a bite and immediately want more. It s the kind of snack I could happily munch on with a drink in hand. Steak with Pasta and Demi-Glaze: This dish was pure comfort. The steak was cooked perfectly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, especially with that rich mushroom demi-glaze drizzled over it. It paired nicely with the fettuccine pasta, which was creamy and indulgent, with little bits of bacon that added a nice, salty kick. If I had one small critique, it s that the pasta was a bit on the heavy side, but honestly, if you re in the mood for something filling, this will definitely hit the spot. French Dip Sandwich: I also had the French dip, and it was everything you want from a sandwich like this. The roast beef was tender, the bread soft but sturdy enough to hold together, and the au jus was just right not too salty, but flavorful enough to make each dip count. It s the kind of sandwich that feels like a hug in food form. Overall, Brown s Socialhouse delivered exactly what I was looking for a cozy, satisfying meal in a relaxed setting. The food was hearty and comforting, and I left feeling full and happy. It s definitely a place I d recommend if you re in Waterloo and looking for a reliable spot to unwind with good food. Sat outside in a booth and the atmosphere was very nice but flies were an issue. They brought us a weird fly fan to put on table like a little windmill .... didnt do anything though. Food was tasty but small portions and expensive. The drinks were very good as well. I had the Oreo Cheescake dessert and it was delicious would go again to order it. Waiter was very helpful and nice and let us stay and chat and socialize while still regularly checking on us.

Browns Social House in Waterloo is a gem. The food is consistently delicious. The service is always kind and attentive. Its our go-to family spot for a meal that fills both the belly and heart. One visit and youll be hooked!

The service here was fantastic!! Extremely attentive and never more than a couple steps away if you needed something. Really, the staff rocked it!! The food is always amazing. I ordered fish and chips and it was perfection. The fish batter was perfectly fried, no soggy spots. The house tartar sauce wad soooo yummy! One of the best Ive ever tasted. The waiter suggested their gravy for the fries, which I never do with fish and chips, but I tried it and their gravy is delicious!!!! The other friends i was with enjoyed their food as well. This is a favorite spot. The only thing is there are times when the music is so loud its hard to talk with the people at the table. Could be a smidgen lower. Looking forward to the location opening at Cambridge as its closer for me. Hopeful that the same level of service is carried over.

Only reason for the bad rating is parking. Circles around for 20 minutes then ended up across the street and walking. Parking: 12 businesses sharing about 30 spots. The restaurant could use all those sports itself and still have parking problems.

Had a fantastic birthday dinner

I had brunch here for the day after my wedding here last weekend (August 25th). They were very accommodating of my large group (30). The service was great, the menu had something for everyone and it was all delicious. Im really appreciative that they really took care of my guests, some of which were from out of the province and out of the country. Really recommend this place.

We were just at the restaurant and left before being served- it was odd as have been before and had an enjoyable and good meal with great service- today we were seated quickly on the patio and then watched as four parties were served around us in the patio area and no one came to our table - not sure if it was missed communication by staff - we certainly felt ignored and after waiting some more and watching another table being served with water and order being taken we left - too bad - I was looking forward to a nice meal in a great space !

The place is perfect however parking is brutal.

I think this restaurant had to be buying their reviews, I I went to Brown s after a long day of work, to be talked to by one host and not greeted for 20 minutes. Then, from there, the manager noticed that no bartender had talked to me, and came over and asked if I wanted anything this manager was wearing a green dress. from there, I told her that I wanted just a drink and food. No bartender talk to me the entire night and when I say the entire night I mean the entire night. I don t even know how this is possible because when you greet someone at your bar, you should at least try to say hello to them. My food came out and I didn t even have cutlery for my meal. My soda water was empty by the time I got my meal, and I wasn t offered another one the entire time that I was there. The only time the guy tried to talk to me Was after I already asked him for the bill, and then did not continue to make conversation when he found out that I didn t leave over a 20% tip. I am a bartender and a server as well, and this is very atrocious. Why do you guys have staff on that aren t willing to actually be servers and just tip and nothing more? I think it s actually insane that I went out and the only person that talked to me the entire night said five words can I get you anything . Honestly pathetic. Your servers are killing your business. If you guys want to retrain them you can always reach out to me at [email protected], and I d be willing to come in and train them for free

Subpar at absolute best. The burgers are store bought Pattys that are maybe 2oz, with a piece of sliced cheese.. some cheap kind. The fries are no better then a regular pub, they were not good at all. 2 burgers, 2 regular fountain drinks and a nacho came up to $84.75..... For the price, its honestly not worth going and we will never be back. Ever!

First time at this location and quite enjoyed it. Weve passed by often but found ourselves in the area and stopped in for dinner. Decent beer selection with ample craft options. The house drafts are pretty tasty as well. We were seated in a small both between the bar and the kitchen which gave us a great view of the action in both areas. Our server was friendly and prompt. We ordered the Beef Noodle Bowl - delicious - and the Jalapeno Queso Burger with fries. The burger was huge and was cooked to perfection, but the jalapeno and queso didnt make much of an impact. I felt those should be bigger players since its the actual name of the burger. The Big Mac-esque sauce was as close as you can get to the real thing and saved the burger for me. I noted that the appetizer fries were labelled as the Best Fries Ever and wondered if they differ from the side fries that come with a burger. If the look theyre going for is the small, crispy fries that everyone steals from your plate, then theyre doing well, otherwise I found the fries to be rather ordinary. Overall a fine experience. Really enjoyed the classic Godzilla wall.

We had dinner here last night. We had an amazing time. The food is exceptional, atmosphere was great. We had Kyle looking after us and he was very attentive. They are wheelchair friendly and very helpful staff. Definitely suggest the fish and chips! Overall great experience and will definitely make it my go to place!

My friend and I wanted to thank Browns Social House and their amazing staff for making my Birthday Dinner extra special tonight. The food and service was fantastic! I ordered a Cappuccino after dinner but unfortunately they didnt offer it on their menu. I was disappointed, but understood. Five minutes later, the Manager Brad came around the corner with two fresh Cappuccinos on the house! He went out and purchased Cappuccino for us, to make up for them not offering it on their menu! I can honestly say that made my night. I have worked in Hospitality for many years, and this type of service for your guests is amazing! From the Front of the house to the back of the house, the food, atmosphere and service was outstanding. Thank you very much for making my Birthday extra special, and thank you again to Jay and Brad for their stellar customer service and hospitality. I also wanted to give a shout out to the Hostesses who were so kind and friendly both on the phone and in person. We will definitely be back!

Always the most polite staff, a beautiful atmosphere, and food so delicious youll daydream about it later. A bit on the pricier side, but worth every penny! edit at later date: reduced review from 5 stars to 2; my most recent visit culminated in poor, rude service, unacceptably long wait times, and undercooked/incorrect food - that i didnt even bother to complain about, because a simple dinner for 2 took us almost 2 hours with us leaving as soon as we finished our food (on one of their less busy days, which surprisingly they seemed to handle worse than they do their busier ones). dont waste your time or money, just go somewhere else.

This was our first visit with a larger group. Atmosphere, food, and attention to service was good. Our only concern was that the volume of music was so high that it interfered with our conversation. Great place for a party atmosphere if thats what youre looking for.

Our go to spot for gathering with friends. The food is consistently good, all of the staff is polite and attentive. We love the team atmosphere that is displayed between the servers, support staff and management. My only caution would be the music and voice volume if you are someone with sensitive hearing as it can be quite loud, if that s the case I recommend the front covered patio as it s quieter

loved this place - probably the best value for quality dining in the area! The menu had lots of exciting and unique options; I tried several and they all ranged from good to great. Service was excellent despite us being in a large group. The decor and atmosphere were also quite nice, making it a great spot for almost any occasion. Location is kind of in the middle of nowhere, but was easy to get to with plenty of parking. not much else in the area. Prices were very fair, especially given the overall value for a great experience - highly recommended. I will def return!

The food and service were excellent.

For what you pay, the food here is just okay. I had fish tacos with fries. The fries came out cold and the fish seemed big only because of the batter thickness. I guess you pay for the atmosphere which is also just okay, but there are other places in KW with nicer atmospheres and meals priced more fairly for the quality of food you receive.

Went last night for a bday meal in the family. We loved the booth we were in, and such a great atmosphere. The music was good and not too loud. The service and food were outstanding. The only thing that irked us is that the waitress did not mention the salad was an up charge as a side. But other than that, great great experience!

A trendy pub close to Rim Park with fantastic food, friendly staff and a good selection of adult beverages. Theres a patio area thats enclosed in the winter and open in the summer. Great location and a good place to stop in for a drink or a meal. Multiple Gluten-Friendly and vegetarian options on the menu. Let the server know if you have an allergy.

My friend and I went here for the dinner. For an appetizer we shared the Thai soup, ceasar salad and garlic bread. For dinner I got the dragon bowl. All of it was delicious and I could consider the price reasonable! Will be going again!

I came into this place not expecting much, not because it doesn t look good, but because I d never been here before. But the food menu is amazing. I had the tuna salad which was outstanding, their locally brewed Social IPA is also hoppy and tasty. Staff is very friendly and helpful! 5/5, would recommend!

As someone who s been in the KW region their whole life, I am grateful Browns opened a location here. This restaurant has an ambient vibe, great food, and amazing service. Quite literally everyone I ve brought here then proceeds to take their friends here as well, and the cycle continues. Additionally, I ve never had a bad meal here, and I ve tried many options from their menu. I must say, I enjoyed every single one. I highly recommend Browns for various occasions, or simply a fantastic meal. 10/10.

Went to Browns on Wednesday for lunch... was looking sooo forward to a French Dip.... and it was awful... stale, the roast beef was old... the au jus was cold and had no flavor... weve been there many times. I always order the French dip, but this was bad enough that i wont be going back... if youve changed it... its a disaster. Go back to whatever you were doing before. Absolutely disappointing and far too expensive for that kind of garbage.

The Bellinis here are 10/10, I would visit again just for those alone

We recently went to Browns. When we arrived on a Friday at 530 we were told 30 to 45 minutes for a table. We would wait as Friday night it is always busy. There was no one in the lobby /entrance when we arrived. We were not seated for 90 minutes. Many people arrived and were seated prior to us. Probably 50 guests or more. We checked in several times with the hostess, to be told that it is unpredictable how busy it is We were the last people to be seated of all the guest that had arrived after us. There has to be a better way to treat guests.

A premium casual place, with good quality food and a fun atmosphere!
