Great service, atmosphere and food

Great portions! Yummy foods and lots of flavour options for meat! Not Halal. Dinner menu has more options and includes all of the seafood items like clams, shrimp, salmon, and more. Though portions of lettuce need to be bigger. Do not recommend the salmon sushi tastes little weird. The avocado and unagi ones were good. Staff were mostly there, waiter didn t smile but we got our stuff! Everything was good. Washrooms are smaller than I thought. Decently clean. Can only get one ice cream per person. So get an ice cream and crème brûlée before you leave for dessert and bring it home :)

Gyubee has become a typical spot for my friends and I to enjoy a great meal, foods awesome and the people there are super nice too. Special shout out to Wade for the incredible service!

Went yesterday, joined the waiting list and it honestly went by pretty quick. Server was friendly and helpful. Everything was fresh and tasted great. 8.9/10. Found restaurant to be really cold and bathrooms to be very dirty, only downside.

I visited Gyubee Japanese Grill in Waterloo for lunch today and opted for their all-day menu, which offered a wide range of grill options. While the variety was impressive, I found the pricing for kids to be quite unreasonable. Even for adults, the overall cost seemed high compared to other similar dining experiences. During our meal, we encountered an issue with two of the meat plates that had strands of hair on them. This appeared to be a hygiene oversight, possibly because none of the staff had their hair covered. I raised the concern with the manager, who responded promptly and addressed the situation. I also suggested that employees handling food and interacting with customers should wear hair coverings to avoid such problems in the future. Overall, while Gyubee wasn t a bad experience, it didn t quite match up to my expectations. Personally, I still prefer the Korean BBQ restaurant located in the same area, which offers better value for the quality and price.

Overpriced and they don t accept credit cards

Site says it opens at 11:30, The sticker on the door says 11:30, but when we got there it was locked and lights off. We then called and there was a recording saying they were closed. Then we checked Google and it said 12pm. Seriously?

A good place to enjoy japanese BBQ. Staff are quick and friendly. Would recommend.

Meat dishes were good quality, fresh and well seasoned. Spinach and tofu side dishes were a delight. Rice cake a bit of bland. Dessert options not as many as the Toronto locations. Staff was friendly. Overall positive dining experience.

Came here for lunch with a large group of people, service was amazing and the food was really good! Our server, Wade, took our orders quickly and brought everything out almost instantly. He consistently checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed and was really attentive. Super friendly and hospitable, definitely elevated our dining experience! :)

Edit: I saw the google page claimed this to be 40~50, how dare they???? We ended up paying 57 per person. They basically enforced you pay 15% tips (fair enough honestly since many issues caused their servers really tired running all the time, respect.) --- The price is not aligned with their food or service. One has to call loudly to get their grill (an iron web or something, usually getting dark and disgusting very quickly) changed. Servers really would love to come interrupt customers conversation for some meaningless questions. Also the ingredients provided are so limited, its basically one small bottle of spice along with a soy sauce. The quality of meat is fair just like any other grills. How come one spent near 60 cad for this?

This is my first time trying Japanese bbq and it definitely won t be my last. The food was great because you cook it yourself but the sauces are really tasty. The soups and other dishes besides the meat also slap. I had 4 crème brûlée and an ice cream. Everything was delicious. It is pricy but well worth it once in a while. Come with friends or come with your appetite you ll be satisfied. The service is great as well with the staff coming by very routinely and often (shout out Jot:)

Gorgeous Gyubee Grills Gelatinize Giblets and I Gulp Them Down. A great restaurant. Incredible service - thank you Jade! The food comes out practically instantly. Highly recommend the lunch menu, which is $10 or so cheaper than dinner, and still has all the best options. The miso-marinated steak is just absolutely beyond life changing. When it comes to all-you-can-eat, its really quite nice.

Joblina is very nice , best place

Having been to several Gyubees in the GTA, this location is a worthy addition. As per the rest of the chain, a meat lovers paradise with a good variety of side dishes that allows for a pleasant break from a constant stream of grilled meats. In this instance, the sushi rolls are quite delicious. Service from the staff matches the quality of the food. Parking: If going for lunch on a weekend, parking in the back is ok.

We were visiting Waterloo from Vancouver and have had both Korean and Japanese bbq many, many times. This was our first time at a Gyubee. We had the all you can eat bbq. While the food was as good as similar restaurants in Vancouver, the service we received from Haaresh was outstanding!! He greeted us warmly, asked us if we were familiar with bbq and how to order. After taking our initial, he returned frequently to our table to ask us if we wanted to order more. This was a very pleasant and refreshing change from many AYCE restaurants where you either have to chase the server to order more food or you don t get your complete order. Haaresh s attentive, efficient and professional service deserves recognition!

Overall, it s a fun spot with good food, and Ivy s service made the experience even better. I d definitely recommend it!

They have sushi rolls. Sushi rolls are really the best. Sushi rolls are not in other Gyubi branches. The meat is delicious and the staff is friendly.

Been here a couple of times, the food was delicious, with good quality meats and a variety of options, a little less than the Markham one though. Our server John was handsome and attentive, great experience overall!

Great for families with affordable prices and good amount of food

First time having an AYCE bbq in Canada and I must say that i am impressed. The night started off and continued with great service from Jot and Ashley, who were happy to provide us constant service and check ups through the meal, and were quick with any request or grill change we may have had! The food was great too, a vast selection of meats to choose from, we must have tried one of everything and it was all great, Id certainly recommend the sushi, miso pork belly, and shrimp more than anything, but anything youd pick would be a great choice. I will say, I would have loved the sushi to have more of a charred flavour and think it would really add to the black rolls! Despite having a packed house, everything was executed efficiently and very well!

Not a very good experience, every time I ordered something, it was always missing. Not very recommended. Im afraid that customers will eat it, so if I cant afford it, I wont open it. So disgusting. I dont even give you more soup. The service industry is also very poor. The baking tray has not been replaced from beginning to end.

Nothing to complain about food. You get what you paid for with decent quality. What I dont understand is compulsory tips at 15% for 6 people and above. This is self-serviced barbeque. Lived up to the hype. Have been twice, the first time we made the mistake of not joining the waitlist (which you can do right on Google) so we had to wait a bit for a table. Theres a reason why its so busy because its THAT good. Service is fantastic, the meat is great quality and theres enough on the menu for folks who dont want to BBQ (but why wouldnt you?). Looking forward to re-visiting.

Goood service and amazing food!

I am extremely disappointed with the food quality at this store. Last night, my friend and I had dinner here, and shortly after, we both experienced nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. When the staff brought the food to our table, the meat was particularly concerning it appeared dark, felt sticky, and was clearly spoiled. The pineapple was also sticky and had a strong, unpleasant odor. This is completely unacceptable, and when I called the manager, she only said our symptom is caused by the food we ate the day before last night even two days before, causing somewhat Chemical Symptom and she and the staff in this store clearly have already learnt how to shirk their responsiblity regarding their food quality. Avoid this place at all costs. The manager is incredibly rude and ridiculously irresponsible. When I called to report the food issues, she arrogantly claimed that they are a licensed restaurant and insisted their food has never had any problems. This dismissive attitude is unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this restaurant.

Limited time only kids special ($4.99, under 4 years old kids eat free) and only at Waterloo location. Parking: Some parking behind the storefront. If it gets super busy Id be worried but for lunch service on a weekend parking was sufficient.

Loved this place! For food was DELICIOUS and the staff were quick and efficient! My husband and I went for dinner and it was such a delight.

They have the poster in front of their store charge free for kids 0-4, and we double check with the waiter that our 10 month old girl is free. Did not check the bill when we paid, BUT found they charged our baby when we home. How could a 10 month baby eat their food? Cheap and dishonesty!

Came here for my birthday dinner and it was amazing! It was our first time here, and our server Andy made us feel welcome right away, showing us how to best cook our meats, and recommending excellent choices. However, he was not overbearing at all, with just the right amount of service. Quality of meat is also great, with a decently wide selection. Overall a wonderful experience!

Very Korean style bbq, excellent beef

Service is just horrible. The first time we came here, the girl told us to wait and blatantly ignored us the entire time we were waiting and helped other customers. When we asked her again, she told us there was no longer any tables left. The 2nd time (whoever the lady is at the front counter May 28th 7:00pm) made it such a huge deal that we had less people on our initial reservation. Going on about how it s unfair for other people but she fixed it so quickly by simply sliding down a separate blind to split the table.. I get it, you want to ensure efficiency in business flow. But treating us like it was in our control that people in our reservation had last minute emergencies is purely unprofessional and inconsiderate as well. The waitresses and waiters were very kind and quick which alleviated the groups dampened mood. I ve always had amazing service here so I m shocked to have run across this.

Highly recommended! Great menu options with new recent additions. Their drink menu is awesome and our favorite is the pineapple juice pitcher! Fair prices especially for children ages 12 under. They eat essentially for free. Although, I think this is only a limited time promotional offer. We were a family of 4 with two children ages 4 and 5 and our bill came to about $100 with tax. Service is very quick and attentive. It is a must try!

This restaurant says they re allergy friendly on Uber eats but didn t accommodate my allergies on the order. This is fine when it s not possible but they also waited awhile to call me and inform me and also made me cancel on their end and wouldn t cancel them self. I almost didn t get a refund.

Food was phenomenal. We liked that there were more protein options than some other grill places. It s a fun option for an AYCE. Staff are wonderful and handled the big group with ease.

I learned this place opened up in December 2023 so I was excited to check it out. The food is fantastic. I love that you can order a wide variety of meat, sides, and other food while being able to grill it to taste. We did ask our server to turn up the heat from medium to high so we can cook faster. Service was great as it was easy to flag someone down and keep ordering additional items. They have a 2 hour limit for all-you-can-eat. Drinks were reasonably priced for a pitcher. They dont accept credit cards so make sure you bring a debit card or enough cash. I would like to see them accept credit cards in the future considering their prices. On a weekend, it was $43.99 per adult before drinks. Parking is somewhat difficult in this plaza but we were able to find a spot in the back.

This was our first time dining at Gyubee. We went with another couple and had a great time. The food is superb! We recommend the marinated steak and sushi. All of the food was impressive from the esthetics to the taste. The atmosphere inside is beautiful. The table and grill are well designed and preparing food was enjoyable. Our server Haaresh provided great service. He kept our drinks topped up and kept the orders coming right until it was time to leave. The appetizers are enticing, the main course is hard to have enough of and the sweets are a chefs kiss. We had a party of 5, 1 vegetarian and the lady at the front refused to give us a table with a second grill. Disappointed in their ability to accommodate dietary restrictions. They had plenty of empty tables when we came early. We also had to consistently go out of our way to find a service person to order every time.

Great place and without a doubt one of my fav places to eat in the region. One thing that I didnt agree with was that we went out for my brother in laws bday last weekend with 6 people and we couldnt do separate bills and the total was well over $300 and one person had to take it. Didnt make much sense at all and I found the reason to be very pointless. I havent eaten at an all you can eat where it was like that. Its not fair for anyone if you asked me and I feel that needs to change. So if you plan on going with a group I strongly suggest you bring enough cash

The food and value were excellent. The service, however, could have been more cordial and efficient. It can be somewhat chaotic with staff serving meats and clearing tables. I wonder if tablet ordering would be a viable solution. I would also appreciate the option to make traditional reservations. Additionally, its worth noting that they do not accept credit cards.

Amazing! The service was so fast! Like we didnt have time to breathe in between orders.... Isnt that what you would want in an AYCE?? The food was so tasty. Flavour are on point and the staff is very friendly. BTW..... Their smokeless grill technology allows us to visit and eat there for 2 hours and smell better than a fresh babys bottom after a wash. I hated going to any BBQ place because it made you smell like a person leaving a night club in the 90s.... Not quite, but you get the hint haha.

Out of 3 of the Gyubee locations I ve been to, this is by far the best one!! I didn t take any pictures because we were so hungry we devoured everything. The food was sooo delicious and service was absolutely amazing. When we ordered, the food came out very quickly and the staff always ensured we had everything we needed. They were very friendly and attentive. Especially Jasmine, shout out to her for being the best server!!! We will be back again very soon, thank you Jasmine!

It was interesting, however one has to pay attention not to order too much at one time, because the staff will bring everything almost at once leaving almost no space on the table to even put your hands on. I guess they should limit themselves to bring for a BBQ one or two plates at a time, to have a queue of items ordered and bring them at a more humane rate, instead of everything at once. Also, they advertised the crème brulée using the picture of what one can buy at Costco as crème brulée, and what you get is a tiny, puny thing with a joke of a plastic spoon. That was a bit of a disappointment. Otherwise they were very attentive and professional.

The lunch I had was a great value. The quality of the barbecue was rich. I ordered the beef ribs several times. I liked it very much. The atmosphere in the store was good. The service of server Michael was warm and thoughtful. I will come back next time if I am hungry.

Came here for my birthday and the food was amazing. Definitely recommend. The menu has variety and the food comes out very surprisingly quickly so it s hard not to want to try everything. The addition of sushi is especially amazing. I ve gotten sushi at many places and this is easily tied for first. Our server Ellie was the cherry on top. Really great service! She had our entire table smiling from ear to ear. She really treats customers like family. You are really lucky to have staff like Ellie. 100/10 restaurant experience.

Recommend 100%!!! Ive been to mississauga gyubee, but i think this place has better quality of meat! Pepper beef was good quality, and all the other meat was all decent. I remember toronto ones had such a great servers, but food wasnt that good. But this ones food was sooo good. They have eel and salmon tempura shrimp roll and they are both so so good. Its almost star sushi quality. Takoyaki was so good to. Their grill is way stronger than mississauga one as well. It really absorb all the fire and smoke so it was so good. Even though I think they should improve servers education. My server didnt come by too much so we had to wait to order even though we eat our table all. And he gave us three jalapeños at a time so we had to order too many times. I will 100% come back. Coke was $3, and free refill. I went lunch 28.99 +tax. On holidays lunch price goes high as 31.

Gyubees Japanese grill is a must-visit, made even better by the outstanding service from Ellie. She went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. The food was delicious, and Ellies attentive yet unobtrusive service made the day perfect. Highly recommend!

Clean and nice-looking place. I loved the Miso Marinated Steak, Sweet Soy Beef Brisket, Chicken Thigh, and Edamame. Yoon was an outstanding server. He was always present when I needed something, he was quick and efficient. Will definitely hit up this spot again.

Went here for my buddies birthday, service and food was incredible. Our waiter Ven made sure our orders came within minutes. I would recommend this place to anyone.

My boyfriend and I came here a couple months ago on a weekend at around 2pm and there was no wait, which was really nice. Our server, Lauren, was absolutely wonderful! She was so attentive and checked in on us often. She also proactively asked us if we wanted refills on side dishes or if we wanted order more food. The food came out really quickly as well. Overall, we had a great experience!

The food was great and our server Ven was amazing!

We came in right at 11:30 am to feast ayce meats for breakfast. We were served a table so quickly and everything came out literally within 30 seconds of ordering. A special thank you to Ven who made the experience so much better!

One of the best all-you-can-eat barbecue places I ve ever been to. We drove an hour from GTA to eat here and it was well worth it! The menu had a wide variety of different cuts of pork and beef and everything came out so quickly and was arranged so beautifully. The quality of all the meat was fresh, juicy and everything was well marinated and delicious. Our lovely server Jane was so friendly and sweet and she made the whole meal even better. Will return soon!

We went to the place to see our friend John, unfortunately he is not there. but the food is great. Also Allen provide amazing service, really positive and friendly guy 10/10.

Everything here is an absolute 10/10. The food was fantastic, our server Yoon was so attentive and friendly, our glasses never empty, our plates were never empty, and our grill was changed often enough that we didn t have a single flare up even when we piled it high with pork belly. Amazing service, and my god amazing food. Vegetarian options: Delicious oyster mushrooms and honey potatoes

We went to Gyubee for the first time this past weekend and we were blown away by the service from Yoon. He was very nice and respectful and took extra time to explain menu items to us, checked in on us frequently, and did not rush us out the door like you see at other establishments of this kind. The food was great and the restaurant was clean. We will definitely be coming back!

Our server, Hareesh, was the best! They always checked-in to make sure our needs were met and did so with a smile. They created a lovely experience for us. The food was delicious as well!

Great food! Went for dinner and everything comes out quickly. We get a last call in the last 30 minutes of your time. I recommend the miso steak which is only available at dinner! Parking: Parking is tight, make sure you go to the back of the lots

This place is sooo good! Atmosphere and food are 10/10. Our server Allen was so helpful as it was our first time. He was so accommodating and professional, even going the extra mile to get us the very last Crème brûlées! Will be visiting again
