280 Lester St #102, Waterloo, ON N2L 0G2, Canada
An African-Nigerian restaurant that serves authentic African dishes.
I usually love Jollof rice but the food in this location tastes stale. The seasoning is great but overall is quite salty. The chicken is dry, the rice is decent and the plantain is very dry/lacks flavour. I hope this improves, especially as it is one of few African cuisine restaurants in the Waterloo area.
My first time at this place and the lady working was so helpful!! I had never eaten food like this before so I asked her what she would recommend and she was spot on, my food was delicious! I'll definitely order here again!
Outstanding Experience! Honestly, I didn't expect such an awesome level of service. Naija Jollof Restaurant outdid itself! The pricing was definitely worth it, and the delivery was 100%. I will definitely recommend it over and over again.
I've bought food there quite a few times and it was good.....except for the last time which was about a year ago when I ordered Egusi and Pounded Yam. After eating it, I got soooo sick. My stomach was paining me violently. I've never experienced such bad pain after eating food before. I believe I got food poisoning. I had diarrhea for the whole evening! It's really a shame because the food was good. I never went back since and never will go back. I don't like the fact that the food is just sitting there in the display and not freshly cooked.
I ordered from this place. The rice was honestly some of the best and most flavorful rice I've ever had. The chicken was good but quite dry. There was also one piece of fish that was pretty unremarkable. They could not complete my dish and said they'd give me extra chicken, but there were only three small pieces of chicken and one small piece of extra fish with a large amount of rice. The saving grace was that I liked the rice the most. I was a bit confused about the extra piece of fish, and to my eyes, there wasn't any extra chicken. I'd give this a 4/5, but with the order being pretty messed up, I give it a 3/5. The rice was a 5/5, the chicken 3/5, and the fish 2/5. They did not have the plantains they were supposed to have.
I see a significant improvement and changes in this location. The food was splendid and I would gladly recommend this place.

So if you were thinking of ordering from this restaurant, i would Urge you to think again because how does a restaurant purposely lie to their customers just to "look good" as the cashier said to me. In the pictures you can see the decent prices and of course I was wowed but house affordable the place was. I ordered the "Lagos" which says its 13.99 since its friday and this happened only 10 minutes ago. I had brought out my card to pay and the cashier blurted out my Total as $38!?!?! She said they no longer served combos and that my Rice would be $16.98 and the meat 16.98 as well for the smallest potions. She had already bagged up my items and i was left with no choice but to pay. This is no way to treat a customer and a business shouldn’t be tricking their customers into almost 3 times the price. GET RID OF YOUR MENUS IF THEY ARE NO LONGER ACCURATE!!!!!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE PLEASE AVOID! 0 Stars if i could
Better Nigerian Restaurant in waterloo
My fiancé and I love coming in during the weekends for the yummy delicious food Adeola makes. Its our go to spot here in the Waterloo region.
Great service and food!
Always putting up the wrong menu on their Instagram.I actually sent them a DM about always having the wrong menu and how that is always misleading but they blocked me on Instagram.Very poor customer service and terrible food.Do better . Came back to say this place is still horrible. Stayed away from them for years but unfortunately someone got me food from this restaurant a few days ago, the food came with extra turkey that was spoilt and smelt bad. Horrible place
I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH. The staff are super friendly and they will give you great recomendations if your not sure what to order. The food is ALWAYS SO BUSSIN. IT IS VERY CLEAN AND I JUST LOVE THE FOOD
Nice customer service
Good food Good people. I highly recommend this place
Ayamase and rice is on point
Food was horrible. Order for turkey they brought chicken for me, the meat wasn t sauced or fried just brought to me like that. The jellof rice don t even think bout it. The soup was full of salt same with the moi moi. Genuinely speaking don t waste your money here because you will regret it
This is a place to visit again and again. I was whaoooh to have a taste of Nigeria Jollof here in Waterloo. I recommend you visit this place and have a mouth watering taste.
Good food
Amazing people, place is very modern, services great, patio is so modern, evrithing is so beautifully decorated, Dior is so professional and willing to host his guests in best ways on end sitting in such a nice restaurant with patio and moderny decorated its worth visiting Good job
Authentic Nigerian cuisine. Jollof rice is nice.
Awesome taste and service
Prompt delivery , very tasty food and customer friendly
My wife and boys tried Naija Jollof for the first time today. It was so so good. Solid 8.5/10 and the 1.5 is for me who discovered the location
The jellof rice was so good, it took me back home . i absolutely enjoyed it
Good food with a great service.
The food is amazingly tasty and affordable. God bless Naija Jollof
Good food
Yummy meals would highly recommend.
Good vibe... Good food...Good service
I have eaten here a couple of times but felt the need to give a review this time. The food was so good that I would recommend it anytime, anyday. I have seen great improvement and changes in the store and I can proudly say I got complete value for my money. Food
The Okro and Pounded yam was super delicious.
Enjoy my meal every single time I eat here.
Very affordable, great size and very delicious
Good food. Always a pleasure to eat here.
Amazing food quality. Jollof rice is a hit!! Def recommended 100
Taste and see ..good food
If you value your health avoid this place at all cost. My boyfriend and I ordered two plates of jollof rice and only realized the food was spoilt the next day, after he had eaten half of it. Y all just out here lying to people and sell spoiled food. 0/10 do not recommend it at all.
Great customer service. Amazing food. Highly recommend!
Food was spoilt and got sick. Portions are small and expensive. DO NOT BUY HERE. BOUGHT 5 STAR REVIEWS
If youre looking for authentic African dishes in Waterloo this is the place to be.
Good experience, good meal. The portions are great. Ate fried rice and enjoyed it. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Food : 5/5
My first experience here was not so great. The Jollof rice was mid and the chicken was dry. The Egusi soup was watery too and almost tasteless. However, I m looking to give them another trial soon.
The jollof rice and chicken was very delicious.i enjoyed it and the warm reception at the waterloo branch.keep it up.
Don t be fooled by the photos you see. Food is garbage, and often spoiled. The chicken was too dry with zero flavour. Had my first allergy reaction last time I ordered from this place. Finally the service is also extremely poor. Food
Gave me food poisoning
Great service .. good food
Very nice meals
Ate Egusi and Poundo and enjoyed every bit of it. Good place. I totally recommend
Ordered for jollof rice chicken and moimoi To start with The chicken was just all boney The moimoi was cold..and I just couldnt eat it Please up your game on your protein and moimoi.. The rice was okay
Naija Jollof, please, stop selling stale plantain. This is not the first nor second time I would be buying plantain and it is the left over that was warmed from the previous day . This is definitely the last time I would be buying too. Also, stop using cheap seasoning that smells so bad, get the nice ones from African store.
Great food and services
I placed an order on the phone only for me to get to the restaurant and they hadn t started the order and didn t have half of the items on the menu. This business idea is a great one but the lady managing it needs to cook better food Update: There must be a new better cook now because the food is taking so much better than before. Absolutely tasty would 100% recommend now. Good job changing the menu/cook. The jollof is the best dish so far, and the Egusi soup is top tier
Very delicious eforiror......great customer service
Check it out and thank me later
I just discovered African/Nigerian food and I was not disappointed! I am in love with the rice a stews. Not a Fufu fan but that s my issue with texture. Jollof Rice was spicy and a taste explosion!
I was here for my skip order today at 12pm. The lady told its will take 20-30 minutes. Than I was trying to contact skip to cancel the order and she come outside again and said are you gonna wait. If you guys are not interesting in your job than please change it.
It was a wonderful time at Naija Jollof restaurant here in Waterloo. The atmosphere is very ambient and they serve a variety of Nigerian dishes like jollof rice, fried rice, egusi soup, okro soup, suya, fried plantain fishes and Agege Bread. They have great prices and Ill recommend it.
Love the lady who works there, super friendly! The jollof is good too!
I got the Jollof rice with chicken, perfect amount of spicy.
It s the best African store between K-W religion.
This is quite possibly the worst food experience I have ever had. Their consistency in delivering a bad food experience is almost applaudable. All Ill say is this: if you want to be sick with food poisoning then buy food from here.
Best you can think of
Good food. I really enjoyed the meal. I was almost discouraged but to be sincere, the meal is amazing and they have a very good environment and above all, an awesome customer service. I will say you visit the place yourself.
I ate the fried rice and chicken and it was really nice. I had to take the rest of the meal home because I couldn t let go
I really enjoyed the food! Will definitely keep revisiting this restaurant!!
Rice and chicken was so on point. It was smoked Jollof and I felt the owambe vibe. Satisfaction guaranteed
Nice place to have a rudimental experience of what a true Nigerian delicacy is, It indeed reminds of home. Phenomenon is the word.
Beautiful restaurant with the best meals ever.
Very good restaurant.
Always out of stock. Kitchen looks dirty from what I can see through the curtains. Messy service. They don t act professional.
Amazing food
Great atmosphere
It s a nice place to get Nigerian food !
Amazing and delicious food
Amazing place for Nigerian food!!!
The good tastes so bad I ordered Jollof meal and assorted beef And assorted beef seperate I got tripe and liver as the assorted on both meals and the Jollof rice tasted so bad
My wife and I fell ill after eating here. We did not have a good experience.
Bought food from here several times and always fell it with food poisoning. Seems food isn t being preserved properly. Also, food smells sometimes as if it s getting spoilt. Do better !
I suffered diarrhea all night long after eating the egusi and it tasted stale - like it had been frozen for a while

I ordered jollof rice with turkey online yesterday (July 14th), and I fell ill from food poisoning. As much as I would like to support the business, this was the worst experience I have had with this restaurant. Please do better!
I got half jollof half fried rice with chicken and curry. The jollof while extremely flavorful had a bit of burnt smell. It might just be a one off issue. The fried rice extremely tasty. The chicken however was chewy. The gravy/curry was also amazing. Overall, get the rice. Skip the chicken.
Awesome people, awesome food
Constantly out of items and leave them on the menu 2 years later: Decided to give them another chance and ordered jollof rice, fried rice, assorted meat and my boyfriend and I both ended up with violent diarrhea and food poisoning. Please do yourself a favour and remember that there is rice at home, eat that one and save your plumbing.
Parking: Parking is on the street Recommended dishes
Great experience always
Went with a friend and both of us got food poisoned. The food itself is dry and expensive for its flavour, not to mention the diarrhea. The service is slow, very much lack the proficiency youd see in other restaurant. The store need some ventilation, I was suffocating in the store. Highly recommend going somewhere else.
Good experience
Good service and good food
only place here that has good fufu
Good food... Good people
Nice fried rice and good attendance
Awesome place
Nice service and nice food
Really enjoyed the food!!!
I usually have a good experience with the lady that works there often. However, the lady that was working today was rude as hell and made sure I was aware I wasn t welcome there. Also, I was overcharged. Do better.
The Okro and pounded yam was great. Will definitely come back.
Good food
I ve visited this restaurant many times and at every point, I get 100% satisfaction. Can t deny them a good review.
Great food with nice friendly ambience.
Great Nigerian food (beautifully spiced and fresh) and very lovely service :). I ve had efo riro and poundo multiple times and it s wonderful. Suya could use a little more heat though
Fresh delicious meal. I enjoyed my Egusi soup and pounded yam. Overall, I had a nice experience.
This is one of the best places to eat delicious food. The spices and options are incredible. If you have not been here, then you have been to anywhere.
Nice busy place
Staff was amiable, food was okay not enough seats.
Amazing Nigerian meal, I felt at home once more. If you are looking for that touch of Nigeria meal, Naija Jollof is way to go. I ll sure order again Food
I had already heard this place had given someone I knew food poisoning but me & my bf wanted to try since he s Nigerian & he ended up getting food poisoning too DO NOT RECOMMEND
Awesome restaurant. Great customer service and good food too. I always order the Jollof rice and the Moi Moi, and I have never been disappointed. The owner goes out of her way to ensure your order is to your satisfaction and her customer service is always on point. Would always recommend 10/10 If you want an authentic and tasty Nigerian food, this is the place to go.
Great Nigerian meal. Try it ,thank me later
I had an excellent experience here. Great customer service, great food!
Great food and excellent customer service
I could give more than a 5 star if allowed. Anytime I am in town, I must just stop by because I cant resist the delicacy plus customer service is top notch .
Please dont ever order anything online from this company. Theyll never get your order right, theyll send you cold food, and if you call to complain theyll argue non stop with you or tell you to call an uber for them to resend your correct order. Terrible company with zero customer service.
I saw their Instagram page so wanted to give it a try. I tried nigerian food for the first time and LOVED the food. The customer service was also extremely good. The lady was kind and friendly. Only negative thing- it was overpriced compared to other local foods in Waterloo. Hesitating to go back often solely because of this.
Great African food!
Very disappointed, I have ordered from here 3 times, the flavour is okay and I am happy to see an African restaurant, however the price is extremely inconsistent, as well as the portions. I have ordered the same thing everytime a couple days apart and the price is different each time and the portions got smaller and smaller. Definitely will not be going back anymore.
Incredible.
terrible pricing for such small a small portion of food, do not recommend. spent 40 dollars on a tiny plate of food.
I ordered pounded yam and egusi soup. The soup did not have meat at all and I called to complain. The lady in charge of the restaurant (Amaka) took the complaint seriously and did all the necessary steps to ensure that the problem was fixed. I have to give them 5 stars for two reasons. the taste of the food was great and customer services after my compliant was impeccable. I have read a few reviews which are not favorable but I definitely recommend this restaurant and Amaka for remarkable service.
Taste is good.
Being West African and knowing my roots angers me when I set foot in that restaurant. You like a place that greets you with the upmost politeness. Here however is completely opposite that, food is so expensive. I ve seen the woman who I think is the owner order a meal for customers not allowing them to get what they like. I would advise my fellow Africans & anybody else whom it may concern to stay as far away from this place as possible. Horrible food and way too expensive
On Uber Eats, the menu is hard to follow, and they are prone to cancel online orders without notice to customers. However, in person its a completely different story. The food items are ready-made, service is fast and friendly. The food itself is very authentic and delicious, good variety in the menu. I recommend to go to the store in person and pick up, instead of online orders.
Awesome food! Ask if they have anything thats not upfront, they have some really amazing Nigerian food
They make sumptuous Nigerian delicacies Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair accessibility into the restaurant
Food tasted good. But way more expensive!
I will be gentle as this is a Nigerian owned business but this feedback is necessary. We ordered quite a spread from this restaurant.. A black colored soup (that was supposed to be Banga), Efo Riro, fried rice, jollof rice and suya... So far, only the suya gets a 5 star. The fired rice on its own gets a 0 star for taste.. Then the fact that it was served with cord fish takes the rating to minus 5 stars. I had to use suya pepper to be able to eat the rice. The Jollof gets a 2 star for taste. And then loses 5 stars for being served with tasteless cord fish as well. Mind you, the order was for Chicken not the cord fish both rice(s) arrived with. But we move.. Like seriously, who does that... Cord fish with jollof and fried rice? The Banga Soup... I use God beg una, please stop it. Dont make it again. That was disrespectful to Banga soup. Just dont do it. Thanks. The Efo Riro was more edible. 2.5 stars. Thats also cos I dont even know what Efo is supposed to taste like. Now I will say this... Kindly work on your cooking skills, I have had better tasting Nigerian food here in Canada and the UK so I know it can be done. Employ a new chef if need be. Also, never serve Jollof or Fried rice with cord fish. Its just a NO NO. I have attached a picture of the jollof and cord fish in it so you know.. Sorry, I had to reduce it to 1 star... This is unacceptable by any standard. Goodluck with your business, but you MUST do better. Selah.
I recommend this place for anyone looking to entertain guests with delicious mean . Their jollof, assorted and pepper soup gave me goose bumps delicious!
Best Nigerian food in waterloo
Love the service and food! This is the place to go for food in Waterloo.
Very decent freshly made naija food. Well prepared and always meets expectation. Somehow I find myself always going back. Highly recommended
Feels like home. Tasty
They have the best naija delicacies. Makes you feel like home!
Great service and tasty meals
I love the jellof rice and assorted. I will highly recommend it.
Best Nigerian restaurant so far no cap
Best spot for Nigerian food in waterloo
Best Jollof rice in Waterloo definitely, always freshly made
Smooth and seamless experience Parking: Parking at the rear of the building.
Naija jollof makes the best jollof rice in the GTA hands down!!!..their food tasted amazing and the customer service is top notch..y all don t hesitate to buy from Naija jollof
This place is so nice ! The food is amazing:)
Very Tasty and Delicious
This is the first Nigerian restaurant I entered when I came to Canada and I can happily say that it one of the best restaurants I have been to. Amazing food, excellent service and relatively good price. Please patronize, you won t regret it.
Amazing food with superb taste!!!! Feels like home everytime I step in here. Wonderful customer service as well.
When They opened their restaurant, We were excited because we usually go to Toronto to get what they make . Their prices were reasonable and their food was delicious, BUT . After a few times of going there, they started changing their price every time I went. Their Jellof rice taste very bad, It taste like smoked rice (very off). They always microwave what we ordered before even asking for our permission. The jellof rice and chicken are supposed to be served together but the last time we were there they ran out of chicken and the lady sold us just the rice at the same price. We were so shocked and disappointed. This is no way to treat loyal customers. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE EVER GO THERE !!!!
What kind of restaurant serve people cold food? This is the only restaurant I know who does. Never going there again
rice was very good and packed with flavour , chicken was very dry .
Great food! Service is a little slow, however. But the food is 100% worth it
hello, you guys serve me spolit food at your waterloo location , how can you guys rewarm same food since on friday till on Monday that is not nice , the turkey i brought was already smelling i couldnt eat it the second day , i wasted 50 dollars on two plate of jollof rice and turkey ! that really bad so disappointed
Fire assorted meat.
I don t know if it s just your Waterloo location but the chicken I ordered today with Jollof was spoilt. It smelled really bad had to throw away. Please do better
The suya is indeed one of the best sellers. I really enjoyed it.
Tasty food, great portions, now more consistent with their timings. Overall good!
I love the food it tastes so nice, esp Jolof Suya, Assorted, Chicken Source. Fantastic environment and great customer service at the Waterloo location.
Great customer service, the food was delicious also. The two ladies who work at this store are sweethearts and made my experience that much better. If you re in the Waterloo or kitchener area I definitely recommend coming to this restaurant. I definitely will be returning
I tried to order and it was cancelled twice with no warning or notice. The 2nd time it was cancelled 10 minutes before the order was scheduled to arrive because the restaurant closes from 12-2 despite there being no mention of this.
The food is really good. Really tasty Nigerian cuisine and excellent customer service at the waterloo branch. Im a regular customer.
Amazing food and amazing customer service. Come early for their yam and egg sauce
If you re looking for some great African homemade food, this is the spot right here! The jollof is 10/10 and I recommended it alongside the Suya. If you love spicy food, I highly recommend the assorted meat (be prepared and have some water nearby). The staff is friendly and welcoming. Everything is at a reasonable and affordable price. What more could you ask for?
Home for African cuisine. Great taste and super love for the Suya. Wonderful team ladies @ Waterloo location
It is a very lovely place to dine. They have great African dishes!!!
The jollof tastes really authentic and good Definitely worth a try
I tried the food here twice and it s horrible If there was a zero star rating I would gladly give them. Please do better with your food and stop giving people spoilt food
Delicious
Too much pepper in.the food and oil
Ayamase was really horrible. Would have been better if it was off the menu. No attempt was made to atleast mimick actual ayamase. I get the vibe of you all got no choice so whatever you see is what you get here . Then the plate was filled with rice and beans with barely any sauce. If you guys have to make something pls do it right or not at all. When people give feedbacks, it is not taken likely so I don t even know how there s going to be any improvements. Highly disappointed.
Delicious food, pleasant servers, overall great place.
Favorite place to go when Im craving Nigerian food. Lovely customer service and tasty food. Their Efo riro is a must have !
Great food idea for the region but most food not ready well after opening. Left without getting anything
Awesome food. I order my weekly food stuffs from there
