140 University Ave W #6B, Waterloo, ON N2L 6J3, Canada
I do feel like the place is understaffed. Just one person did too much work at the front. The meal was great and 이모 was very friendly and hospitable I do recommend 냉면 and 양념치킨
Ordered a chicken udon noodle dish from here yesterday and ate a piece of pork. This kind of cross contamination in highly unacceptable and should require the ministry’s intervention. Further, when trying to notify the restaurant they only denied the experience. This restaurant has been here for a long time, and to respond to someone they way they did only uncovers their level of irresponsibility for all customers food orders and customer service.
Went in for a casual Friday dinner, (hadn’t come back in 2 years after a subpar experience but today changed that.) I noticed the place is great for BIG groups. There were atleast three of them dining in but it didn’t affect our service at all, food came in fast and hot and delicious! Got the teokkboki and snow cheese fried chicken. Rice cakes were incredibly soft n squishy felt fresh! That’s rare in experience. The chicken was juicy and crunchy. My friend was kinda annoyed by it being bone in haha. But I didn’t mind it. The fries. THE FRIES! A girl can always appreciate good fries. We also got 4 complimentary banchans. Overall take your friends and share some joy guys !
So yummy!!!! Really high quality ingredients and tasty meal😋 Loved the side dishes as well! The portion was decent and price was reasonable. The lady working there is the sweetest! She’s always there and welcomes you and remember you if you come back!
The food was authentic and the portions were large. Especially with the side dishes, we left very full, and the side dishes were also delicious. The fish cakes were our favourite. The chicken katsu was great, and the noodles were also flavourful. We would definitely come back.
The food is good, however I didn’t like the rice cakes that much. The workers are very nice but it does get pretty busy. I enjoyed the fried chicken and spicy pork though. We also got the stir fried udon and it was too oily.
One thing about Onnuri is that the food is deliciously consistent and they are so friendly. Whether you're ordering takeout or dining in they are very nice people. The restaurant booth seats could use some maintenance but other than that the atmosphere is good enough, the restroom is very clean and that is always something I look for when dining out, especially at small non-fine dining establishments like these and considering they're in University Plaza. We love the pork bone and galbi soup a lot, the fried chicken is also really good and not greasy along with all the pickled sides. Such a great little spot with great food and service. We will always support them! Ever since we discovered them during the pandemic it's been one of our regular go to spots, we miss the corn dogs but thanks for being great Onnuri!
The food is absolutely delicious and also the staff is super sweet and nice i have tried a number of dishes that I don’t have pictures for but they are absolutely delicious especially the spicy cold noodles ,cheese Tteok-bokki and the veg yaki udon(my personal favourite). Easily one of the best spots for korean food in Waterloo!!!
If only they would stop playing the damn hymns... I took my foreign friends with me, but only hymns (and those in Korean) were played ;; My friends were looking forward to hearing K-pop come out, but I held out and asked them to change the song, so they did, but the next time I went to eat, they only found hymns in Korean... ha; Music is responsible for 80% of the atmosphere, but shouldnt we be playing what customers want to hear, not what the workers want to hear? Non-Koreans come to Korean restaurants because they like Korean food and culture, but someone knows and plays Korean hymns because they like it.
The beef soup in clear broth and egg drops was really underwhelming. The meat was tough, the broth was under salted, and the bowl was underfilled for a ~18 dollar soup
Craving-worthy food
The owner lady is incredibly nice and the food is awesome AND affordable
The lady running the restaurant is incredibly kind and welcoming. Food is delicious and they give large portions. Would highly recommend.
Ordered chicken yaki udon noodles for takeout, as I was eating them there was a piece of pork in it which I accidentally ate. Called the restaurant to complain, and they refused to believe there was pork in it and started yelling at us and saying that I am lying. Would never go back.
My favourite of the korean options near UW
There was a guy at the front young guy who was really nice kind, welcoming and friendly who gave us extras with no extra cost. He deserves a raise! Had a great positive energy and loves doing what he does. Food is also great Food
Everything is ruined when you eat a SCREW in your meal!!! No Excuses for me to come again.
Makes me feel home with their flavourful hot meal and a very friendly gracious service.
I went there because the reviews were good, but the Jjajangmyeon wasnt that great. The owner is Korean and friendly.
Food is a little pricy, but I highly recommend their Katsu (especially the one with okonomiyaki sauce). It could be a bit oily, but I always crave it when I want something fried, filling, and indulgent.
Referred here by a friend who lived in South Korea for 11 years. Try everything.
It s a great space every time I visit with decent prices, decent portions and great service! Special shout out to DoHee and Danny for just being a vibe when we were there. my sister had ordered a seafood stir fried dish which barely had seafood in it which was quite the downer but that s the only not great experience we ve had there. Drinks are far pricey than is reasonable to purchase with the meal I found so there that but overall a highly recommended spot Vegetarian options: Tons! Dietary restrictions: Not a nut free establishment Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs and they re pretty accommodating but the door is narrow so just a heads up
Ive always loved Onnuri. The food has always been great and portions are big. However not sure what happened recently but this is what I got for $80, I dont think it is worth it sorry.
Just ate here for the first time with some friends and it s now my favourite restaurant in Waterloo! They have so many of my favourite Korean dishes. The customer service was amazing and it s great that it s open late. I m so excited to go back!
Sweet and spicy fried chicken must try
The best korean restaurant that I tried in Canada.
Nice food with great service. The lady there was very nice and generous. She offered me an extra side dishes for free. I was for very grateful for her kindness. I would like to return to this great place in future.
Onnuri is my favourite place to order Korean food in the K-W region! Their food is so fresh, so tasteful, and delicious. The staff are incredible and kind, so pleasant to speak to and always very helpful when inquiring about certain dishes and notifying them about allergies. My family and I love Onnuri and are so happy with their menu. Their bulgogi (regular and spicy) are terrific!
It s quite good , but not exceptional in any way. Prices are average for a Korean dine in . Would recommend the bulgolgi and bibimbap The server was really attentive and nice Food : 4/5
Food was pretty good. Portion size was reasonable along with the price. Side dishes also tasted good. Service was a bit slow as there was only one person working out front.
This restaurant deserves nothing less than 5 stars. Traditional, flavourful dishes, huge portions, excellent service and a great peaceful atmosphere. We will be coming back to try every dish on the menu.
Excellent service. Delicious fried chicken. Kimchi worth talking about. Definitely would recommend.
Great food and atmosphere! The pork bone soup is my go to, and it is amazing every time! The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and the music is always great!!
Wow~~ Its friendly, clean, delicious, and good value for money. I think Ill stay here and go often. I went because the rating was good, so I admit it ^^
Its delicious. Ill come again~~I hope the owner is kind and prosperous. I enjoyed the meal.
At Onnuri , my vegetarian dining experience was a delightful adventure into Korean flavors. I relished their tangy and flavorful kimchi, which had the perfect balance of spice and fermentation. The cheese corn was a comforting delight, a creamy and cheesy indulgence that complemented the spicy tones of the kimchi. The veggie noodles were a refreshing surprise, packed with vibrant vegetables and tossed in a savory sauce that left me craving more. I tried their Sogo, a sweet and refreshing drink that perfectly balanced the bold flavors of the meal. Overall, a fantastic vegetarian selection with dishes that showcased authentic Korean flavors. A must-visit for fellow vegetarians looking for a flavorful Korean culinary experience! Vegetarian options: That was amazing
the fried chicken is amazing! 100% recommend. also love the fried pork strips and the tofu soup. the people running this restaurant are so friendly too. its a great place all around.
Server makes sure you get the best time to enjoy your meal. Food is amazing, especially the Jjamppong taste magnificent.
I loved the food so much! Cheap and delicious! The lady who took our order was so sweet and kind. Our order came out very fast so yay to fast service!
The food was delicious and everyone I was with left satisfied. Also, the service was beyond helpful and super friendly. Definitely would recommend.
What a wonderful experience! The food was authentic and very tasty with delicious side dishes. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was exceptional. Thank you, we will be back!
A very delicious restaurant that was recommended to me It was beyond my expectations. I will come again next time. happy new year
The Korean lady treated me differently compard to other guests. Come in with great mood come out unhappy. Despite the terrible service i get i still tipped enough btw. Food is pricy as well. Will not come again
We got there s last night with empty stomach and order some dishes. First thing. Service quick and response. Food was good and better than most of Korean places we went before. Of my pickiness I give them 4.5 /5 stars. everything was great, specially dolsot bulgogi is a gem. Why is 0.5 missing because the bone in a bone soup is a bit under for me and my teamed rice turns to congee some spots which is normal but again I am just picky. But overall their food is really good. Last thing I give them 5 stars because the restaurant is very clean. Outside the washroom everything is clean and fresh. as a customer Im very appreciative when the restaurant keeps their washroom clean for themselves and their customers.
Always a good experience when coming here. Nice authentic flavours that deliver pure comfort. Service is so friendly and ensures satisfaction. Love that the side dishes are refillable because they pair with the food well.
One of the best Korean food in KW, and I will die on that hill. It s really good, but I give it 4 stars because the quality in taste has decreased overtime, but it s still the best in town.
great older couple who run it with their son. great place to enjoy real home cook korean dishes. the portions and side dishes will fill u up and u will need a take out box. owners r great at explaining the dishes and heat levels. the food was amazing
The food is on the pricier side but the quality and the portion of the food are worth with money. Service was excellent, would recommend this restaurant to anyone whos looking for an elevated Korean dining experience! The free appetizer was a plus!
Owners are Korean. Probably the best place to get Korean food in the university area right now. Their side dishes are awesome (love the fish cake and kimchi). I only wish they were open a little earlier in the day.
Good korean spot in the kw. We ordered a variety of food and everything was good especially their fried chicken is really good.
Great food. Friendly and fast service.
A little good
One of the best K restaurants in this area. Can t go wrong with it. Very good service! They even auto-refill your appetizer without asking!
Its so delicious
TlDR: amazing service prob best Korean restaurant near in 30 min walk around Waterloo campus. Side dishes: offers potato, kimchi, fish cake and pickles cucumber. All the dishes were ok but the cucumbers instead of a red chili sause that usually Korean place offer they pickle the cucumbers a bit and makes the meal less bloating Apps : cheese tteboki - for the price nothing stands out but the cheese flavor makes it heavy so full. We also got scallions pancakes, too heavy on green onions from a friend who loves green onions l. Main dishes: beef stewz, pork bone soup and pork cutlet. Pork bone soup was reasonable size and flavor was good! Not too spicy but not a lot of pork flavor/spices so average. The beef stew
I like most of the foods here, they serve authentic korean food. And seems like they always busy. Food
Onnuri has the friendliest service in town. Side dishes were fresh and food is always consistent and delicious. It was my first time dining here and it was definitely a pleasant experience. We ordered uber eats from here often during lockdown and their pork bone soup and fried chicken kept us coming back. They always included a free can of pop and a thank you note for supporting their business!
Amazing food. You really cant go wrong with what you get.
I got galbi soup it was absolutely delicious and came with a great portion of beef so id say it was definitely worth the price. Thank you so much for the meal!
Staff were nice, food was great. Would come back again!
Staff were friendly, and service was great! Loved the food, and overall atmosphere..
Great tasting Korean food and extremely friendly staff! We ordered the Jajangmyeon and the ramyun tteokbokki for lunch. Both were great. The noodles in both dishes had a great chew to them. The rice cakes were springy and definitely not overcooked like some places Ive had in the GTA. Well definitely be back to try some of the other dishes when we visit Wateroo. Overall, we much prefer this place over Nuri Village. Only downside to this place is that it opened after my girlfriend and I already graduated uwaterloo, definitely wouldve been regulars when we were undergrad!
After seeing 4.2 stars in the reviews we were excited to try this place out but we were disappointed- to us it was 3 stars for the food at most. We ordered a whole fried chicken but one of the wings was missing wings are so easy to identify so if Im missing a wing how many other non-easily recognizable pieces were missing as well? The beef dumpling soup was very salty and my mouth felt so dry for the whole rest of the day. I feel like they put a lot of msg in there. When I asked for small bowls, the plates she gave me were dirty and our food took maybe 20 minutes to come- we were hungry and they didnt bring the side dishes until the rest of the food was ready although we asked how long the food is going to take. By the end of our meal (and thankfully it was at the end) there was a strong cigarette scent coming from the kitchen. It was so strong it was like someone was smoking in there. Overall it was negative experience and I dont think we will be back
The place is clean and the portions are pretty good . Only thing is that the fried chicken is a bit dry and I personally think that it would go better with pickled radish instead of fries .
I think it tastes better than Toronto. The food was good, they were friendly, and the side dishes were delicious. The food we ate was cold noodles, soft tofu, soybean paste stew, pork cutlet, and sweet and sour pork. The black bean noodles and chicken look delicious, so Ill try them next time I come.
Solid Korean food. Kimchi fried rice is okay.
Food was tasty but the inside of my jajangmyun bowl was dusty! The plastic bowl was also sticky. Very gross. Might not return because of the dust. Food was good despite that though!
Food not bad Serve was Good
The inside is you an average looking restaurant but as Soon as you sit down you get great service. Also the food is unreal.
Food was good, service? I ordered cold noodles with LA galbi and was disappointed when three thin slices of galbi was given to me for $12.. it tasted like the kind of galbi you d get at a fast food place. Spoke to the manager that I didn t want it and she argued it s very expensive though and I just gave in because I didn t want to argue. Food was good just didn t appreciate how she argued for me to keep it instead of just accepting I didn t want it.
Onnuri is an authentic locally owned Korean restaurant. They have many traditional dishes which are very tasty and comforting. Particularly enjoy their Korean fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauce. Service is great with a very friendly aunty hustling around to tend to customers.
Good vegetarian options, excellent quality of food, nice layout of restaurant allowing privacy and open table choices Vegetarian options: Variety of veg options!
Food was yummy and a really good portion. I love that they have cold noodles here! The only thing I would say is that the bulgogi was a bit chewy, but it still had nice flavour. Staff are very nice and polite, and music was great.
I used to go to onnuri very often with my friends and everything was pretty good. But as the place gets more popular, our experience gets worse. Last night, we had to wait for more than an hour for our food to come, and when it did, one of my friends had her order messed up, and the others stew was burnt. The portion sizes also seem to be getting smaller as well for the fried chicken. Edit: its pretty good now
The server was EXTREMELY friendly, shes awesome and is probably biggest reason to come! The food was fresh and good!
The food was so so delicious. I enjoyed it very much, Ive been here a few times now and every time its amazing.
Theres a saying in Korean that translates to, 1 meal can be equivalent to 3 meals. I understoof exactly what that saying meant when I visited the newly opened Onnuri in Waterloo (140 University Ave W #6B, Waterloo, ON N2L 6J3). With generous portions fit for us to dine like kings, this bright eatery was the perfect spot to satisfy our Korean-food cravings! Hoping for a filling lunch, we ordered the champong and the bibimbob. With its abundant assortment of vegetables, eggs, and perfectly balanced ingredients, the bibimbob offered the opportunity to customize the spice level by adding as much gochujang and kimchi as our taste buds needed, making for a delicious, wholesome meal. However, the true star of the show was the champong! A worthwhile choice, considering the portion size and the cost ($15), the dish featured a robust and flavorful broth that infused the noodles and an assortment of seafood, including squid, shrimp, and mussels, creating a delightful symphony of flavors! Lunch truly could not get better than this! With noodles, hotpot, soups, stews, and so many other options, Onnuris new location in Waterloo is sure to be a delight for university students craving Korean food ahead of their midterms. Be sure to check them out if youre close to the University Shops Plaza! Highly recommended! To hear about this review, follow us @eatinontario on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
Had an awesome time at this restaurant tonight for dinner. The food as always is impeccable - so flavourful. I especially recommend the garlic soy fried chicken. Super crispy & tender, not a single piece over cooked or dry. I ve been going here for years & the food never disappoints. The owners really care about their employees & their customers. I m always treated so nice here. My waiter tonight was especially awesome! He was so friendly, attentive & made our experience that much better! Great customer service. Definitely will recommend this restaurant to all my friends. Sidenote: the owner has one heck of a green thumb. I always love admiring her beautiful plants when I visit.
Nice and tasty food, but portions are on the small side for the price.
My new favourite restaurant!! The food is always so good every time I come and the portions are large as well, the staff here r so nice as well. Shoutout to Danny and Dog for always giving the best service and conversations
My friend and I went to this restaurant on a Friday night. We got seated and gave our order to the server. However, either they or the kitchen lost our order, and we ended up waiting 1.5 hours for our food. The couple at the table next to us came in after we ordered, got their food, ate, and left the restaurant before we even got our food. When we asked if we could receive a discount due to the very long wait time, the staff members response was well its been a busy night, everyone had to wait a long time. When we asserted that we had waited an unacceptably long time due to our order being lost, they reluctantly gave us a 10% discount. I found this experience disappointing and despite the good quality of the food, wont be returning for dine-in.
The customer service & the food was amazing! Would 100% recommend it!
Great home-y Korean food. Love the Korean fried chicken, very tender and juicy. Friendly service although can be slow, as it is almost like a family dining experience.
I have been here quite a number of times and on every single visit, it has been fantastic. From the service to the food, everything was wonderful. The staff were friendly and so much fun to talk to and the food was amazing. I recommend going to this place if you love Korean food and that is authentic. I will be coming back as this has turned into one of my favourite spots. Vegetarian options: The menu had a lot of options for anyone who is a vegetarian or does not eat meat which is good as it allows everyone to eat something and enjoy some Korean flavours without missing out
First visit. This place is legit! Authentic, great food and service.
Amazing, customer service was proper, patient and friendly, the wait time was pretty average, and the food is pretty good so far, the udon was especially good
Food was delicious and service was awesome! Will definitely be returning here. Shout out to our waiter
I had the Yaki Udon and it was delicious. The side dishes were good too. We had to wait a while for the food but it was worth it.
Delicious food and kind staff, fried chicken is especially good here
Incredible food at reasonable prices. Owner is very friendly, and really makes you feel like a spoiled grandchild.
Excellent Korean restaurant to crave for
Friendly and delicious food, side dishes are also delicious.
Delicious food, excellent customer service. They gave us a lot of side dishes, which are all amazing. Definitely will come back.
I ordered soft tofu stew and galbitang, and it was so delicious. The moment I took a spoonful, I knew this was Korea. I really missed Korean food so much, but I was eating it with tears in my eyes. Thank you, boss...
I used to order a lot. Recently I ordered the snowing cheese Korean chicken and the portion I order was whole. Ended up getting a half chicken and more importantly the flavour was not as good as before.
Ive had poor experiences with Korean restaurants in town but Onnuri is one of the best Korean restaurants Ive been too. Although a bit pricey the food is very tasty and the staff is friendly.
The service was great!!! Also the mashed potato ice cream scoop they give you is blessed
Kimchi Stew, Banchan and tteokbokki was delish. Service was great, food was fresh and hot. Cant wait to go back to try more.
oh yes very tasty but are pickled cucumbers a thing or are they just pickles?
A little expensive but their food is pretty tasty. I really like their Sundubu but can also attest to their Tteokbokki, Honey Garlic Fried Chicken, Bulgogi, and Pork Bone Soup!
Great new Korean place to try! The fried chicken are quite large and the portions are decent given the price (also comes with a side of fries). They are extra crispy (the only thing was we ordered snow fried chicken which is usually topped with powdered cheese, but got melted cheese on top instead when ordered). I also got the kimchi bulgogi, which tasted great. It was very flavourful and tasted authentic. The service was also friendly and outstanding! The restaurant is decent sizing, and was able to fit a large group (~13 people) at one table.
We went to Onnuri Waterloo for an early dinner on a Wednesday, it wasn t too busy so we were seated right away. We were given physical menus and water soon after. We ordered quite a bit for 2 people but we quite hungry that day. We were served the starter, fried mandoo (dumplings) pretty quickly and it was so crispy and a highly recommended dish to share. Following that, we waited a bit longer for the rest of the dishes to come. The side dishes were served along with the main course. The kimchi jeon (pancake) was well flavoured and a good portion. The JaJangMyun is a staple, something that I always get when I go to a Korean restaurant. The portion was good, the noodles were a bit chewy (just how I like it), but I felt like the sauce lacked a bit of flavour, it was more subtle. Finally, the pork cutlet was only okay for me. There was way too much sauce on the cutlet that it got a bit soggy after a while and the rice portion could have been bigger. The pork itself was a little rougher than other pork cutlets I have tried and it wasn t crispy. The service was pretty positive overall, our waitress checked in on us, refilled our water jug and got us more napkins. Glad I tried this place so I could review it!
Excellent Korean restaurant. Very close to the campus. Prices are very fair. Highly recommended
Mul nangmyun cold noodles
Awesome Korean place in Waterloo. The owners are really nice and the service is good. Pretty chill atmosphere thats great for a meal with friends.
Last visit: April 2022 Note: rating is 3.5 stars, veering closer to 3. This doesnt mean its bad, but Ill go when I have a craving. Access: Being in the plaza close to UW, its an easy to access restaurant. Nice and clean place, the people there are nice and provide free sides as is usual for Korean restaurants. For anyone not familiar with chopsticks, the staff are approachable and will give you a fork without a second thought. Value: The reason why the rating is 3.5, the dishes here are quite expensive for the portions. Depending on what you get, you may need to come with a friend and split 2 mains and an appetizer and that causes the split bill to be about $20 per (tip included). Taste: The taste is good. I got a split of mandu (Korean dumplings), jjajangmyun (black bean noodles), and spicy squid bokkum (spicy squid with assorted vegetables). Disregarding the cost of the meal, if youre interested in Korean food, I do recommend trying this place at least once. The gochujang (spicy bean paste) used in the squid bokkum had a nice spice kick that paired nicely with the jjajangmyun, but it definitely goes well with white rice as well, meaning you can get a variety of flavours with a few dishes. The (free) side dishes were also good. The side that stuck with me the most was the seaweed salad. Nice sourness from a sort of vinegar dressing and the chewiness of the seaweed is addicting. I ended up getting a (free) refill of that, because I didnt realise my friend didnt have any yet. TLDR: 3.5 stars A bit pricey for the portion size, but the taste is great. Its a good place if youre not looking to be bloated after. I reccomend going here at least once, preferably with a friend to try as much as possible without going overboard with costs.
This is by far the best Korean food I have ever had. I ordered the bibimbap and rice cakes. The restaurant itself is clean and spacious. The woman that works at the front is extremely sweet and courteous. The side dishes - potatoes, pickled vegetables, kimchi, and fish cake I think - were so fresh! The bibimbap is a really good portion and the vegetables were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The hot stone bowl kept the bibimbap hot for a really long time. The spicy rice cakes were amazing! Super tasty and flavourful. I will definitely be going here regularly.
Great food near the university!
Food was delicious, had a great meal here with some friends. Only wished the pork bone in the pork bone soup was a bit more tender.
Great traditional Korean food!
Ordered 100$ worth of food here, portions were small and they didnt even give any bonuses. Nuri village next door TASTES BETTER and has BIGGER PORTIONS and will give a group order extra food for service. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AND ITS DISRESPECTFUL SERVICE AT ALL COSTS
Dang yummy, I ll going back!!
Friendly and tasty Korean place that opened in the past year. Fried chicken is one of the best in the plaza and the black bean noodles are the BEST. Its a staple that we always get whenever we visit. The flavor is just sweet enough and the noodles have a good bite to them. Otherwise, pork bone soup and bibimbap or kimchi fried rice is always a classic. Every option is good here and the family that owns the place is super nice. Their side dishes are fresh and include cucumbers, potatoes, and fish cake.
Unlimited side dishes but everything tastes okay
I used to come to the restaurant a lot but I ordered kam ja tang and got food poisoning from the most recent time visit The food poisoning was very bad and cost me the whole night in the hospital
Soontofu stew was not good. Just spicy, no deep taste. I think I won t come back here.
I am surprised to see this is the takeout size, only half of the usual dining-in amount. We would have thought the food must be eaten by the delivery guy if we did not picked it by ourselves. Food was average, pretty disappointed. I used to come here for dining-in often pre-Covid, the food quality gets worse and the amount of food keeps shrinking.
Bad and late service
Not amazing not awful
When we entered inside it took a bit until someone noticed us and we got a table. I found the cheese pork cutlet thin, and the side dishes for the table were small.
Nice Korean place in the plaza. They have a pretty extensive menu and theres lots to try. The portion sizes were pretty good, and even some of the comparatively cheaper items left you pretty full by the end. The food tasted pretty good. We went during the middle of the day around 2pm, so the atmosphere was pretty quiet and relaxed, with only a few other students there.
i m so hungry ..
Absolutely love this place! Food is always amazing, I wish I didn t live so far away but worth the drive every time! The staff has always been very pleasant though I really enjoy it here :)
Went with a good friend here to try it out. Heard of the good reviews. The options were great and food came out very hot and was delicious. Will come back again.
Delicious
I love coming here for Korean food! One of my favourites to get is the bulgogi bibimbap! The atmosphere is great and the staff are very friendly! Lots of options to pick from in terms of food!
Excellent food
Noodle dishes are amazing. Great flavours, kind staff. Stews are simpler dishes, but not in a negative way. The fried chicken is good but there are some fried chicken specialty places in town that are better. Overall great spot to get comfort Korean food.
The lady who served us was so sweet and caring about our experience. Food was great.
The Royal Tteokbokki was amazing! After I ate it, I though I definitely got to go get it again. The Korean food here is delicious, much better than Nuri Village in the other plaza that gave me food poisoning.
We ordered the sweet and spicy fried chicken and the cheese corn. The chicken was delicious, crispy and so saucy. Definitely a must try. We will be ordering this again. The corn on the other hand was strange in my opinion. It was overly mushy and the cheese dried on top making it one clump.
Supreme fried chicken + sweet&spicy fried chicken + Rabokki (rice cake, fish cake, glass noodle, ramyun noodle). The sweet&spicy is not spicy at all, really sweet. Supreme is better than sweet&spicy.
Amazing corndog and pork bone soup!
Fried chicken is great!
I highly recommend this restaurant the food and service is amazing. Jessie (sorry if this is not the right spelling) was so energetic, helpful, kind and patient with our questions. We got about 7 dishes to share and they were all amazing - not even one was disappointing. I cant wait to go back! :)
Just ate here and food is great but service is fantastic!!! Worth dining in if you can get a spot!! Thanks for the fun evening out!
Really decent rice cake dish and everything else on the menu is amazing too. Tried the bulgogi, dumplings and udons. The staff are super friendly and positive. Be sure to ask for cutlery if you are not going home to eat. They have a sign on the door that mentions they close on Tuesdays to do a deep cleaning of the store. It felt extra clean and fresh knowing we ordered on a Wednesday. I like how they pay attention to these kinds of details especially bring around the most busiest areas of the city. Cant wait to try the rest of the menu!
Great food and great service! We had the bulgogi stew, fried chicken, and pork bone soup- all were very tasty!
[ Onnuri - Waterloo, ON] Supper cute staffs, especially the female one Food tasted good. This was the second time coming here, it tasted better comparing to the first time not my 1st go-to spot for Kfood craving, but lets say this is the 2nd option Please keep hitting me w such great service and delicious dishes, u guys gonna replace the first option soon
Love the corn dogs!
Amazing, quick service. So glad I got to try my first ever Jajang Tteokbokki ( ) from here! Came with a lovely note Stay safe and best of luck
SERVICE is literally on point and beyond expectations. Best service I ve ever had at any korean restaurant. Food is DELICIOUS: I had the tofu soup with pork and they give you a really gracious serving of fatty pork and i got spicy rice cakes with cheese.
Amazing
Everything here is delicious. I would especially recommend their Supreme Chicken or Army Stew. Their corndogs are also above average. Of course in-person dining is better for this place than takeout, but the chicken is still just as good as takeout. 100% recommend this place, even during this lockdown.
Weve never had the chance to go, but have had their takeout a few times now. Enough to earn a great review! Always fresh. We like the bibimbap, japchae, jajangmyeon and more! Its tasty, well packed, a really nice quantities. Thank you Onnuri team
Best Korean food I had outside of Asia so far! I ordered their Korean spicy rice cakes, Rice Cake and Dumpling soup as well as Kimchi Fried Rice. All of this came with a few side dishes like regular Kimchi and cucumber Kimchi. I was surprised about the huge sizes and the amount of the side dishes. The taste was incredible. ;) Definitely gonna go eat there again! Edit: this is my favorite restaurant in KW and I ve been there several times already. Onnuri never disappoints. Just simply delicious. :)
Got take out this evening from them for the first time. It was the greatest meal I have had in a long time. Get the sweet and spicy fried chicken!! We got 4 different items for 3 of us, spent less than 100$ and we have leftovers for tomorrow. 11/10 would recommend
This is the bar at which I will compare all chicken for the rest of my life.
I recommend Jjambbong, but the bossam I ordered yesterday was so absurd. I dont know where the cabbage in the picture went, but the lo mein that came with the bossam menu was really unexpected. The quality of the kampunggi was also different from the one I had a few months ago. I ordered it as a Mothers Day special, but overall I was very disappointed. Jjambbong was delicious.
One of the best places in KW region for their fried chicken. My two favourite are the sweet & spicy and the snowing chicken. Their fried chicken is super addicting with the right amount of crunch. Always impressed :)
Best Korean food that my family and I have ever had - they were generous with the portions and banchan, the food was all incredibly delicious, and the delivery time was very impressive too! This will be our new go-to favourite for sure :)
Awful service, Poor quality food, overly expensive. I purchased food ahead of time and they said it would take 20 to 25 minutes. After 25 minutes I went to the store for pick up, payed first and tipped. They then asked me to wait 10 more minutes. After waiting for 10 minutes, the food never arrived. I waited for another 10 minutes before receiving it. Upon eating the kanpoongki, I was extremely upset to see that this $21 item was mainly filled with batter and very little chicken. The side dishes werent tasty, and the jajangmyun was mediocre. I wouldnt recommend coming and purchasing these dishes or recommend this place at all.
I love this place. The interior design makes the place so welcoming and the food is absolutely delicious and worth what you pay for! Great service and I definitely recommend others to try.
Ordered ahead but still had to wait for almost 25mins in store for the order to be ready.
Food is great and delicious. But had to drop a star because the portion of rice is a bit small for the given size of food.
Best Korean Food in town! Everything on their menu is so yummy. Cant say no to their K fried chicken. Jessie nuna is the best! 6 stars out of 5!!
Seriously the absolute best Korean restaurant in the region. Ordered a *stupidly* large order for my first wedding anniversary with my wife, and every single item (out of the 10ish items) was incredible. They were even kind enough to throw in a corn cheese to the order (thanks again!). Best fried chicken Ive had, full stop. Dumplings and spring rolls were perfectly cooked. Kimchi fried rice was one of the best Ive had, and the Bulgogi just melts in your mouth. 5000/10, will be returning. Thanks again for a fantastic meal!
We got the whole sweet and spicy fried chicken and wow, it was amazing! It was so perfectly crunchy and flavourful on the outside, and soft on the inside. Will definitely be ordering again!
Got the Sweet and Spicy frier chicken, and my girlfriend and I loved it! The outside was crispy while the inside was tender and juicy. The sauce was delicious as well. Would highly recommend!
On a day when I was really craving Jjajangmyeon, I thought about going out to Toronto and ate it as takeout without any expectations. But... I dont think Ill ever go to Toronto again. My husband said it was actually better than the Jajangmyeon he had in Toronto. The chicken we ordered together was crispy and delicious. The second time I ate it, I went to the park and ate it at a park table. I enjoyed the cold noodles and the carefully prepared side dishes.
Tasty food, worth the experience!
Amazing food and service is top notch!
This is easily a 5 star restaurant! The staff is friendly, the food is really delicious and the price is reasonable! Their yukgejang is really good. Cant wait to come back!
Great service and food
The best Korean restaurant in Waterloo!! They give amazing food and amazing service every time!! Rebecca and Jessie always have such a positive happy attitude! I highly recommend this place You will not be disappointed
Highly recommend this restaurant!! My roommates and I order from here at least once a month. Really great food and service as well as decent prices. Best korean fried chicken Ive had in the KW region (reco. the spicy and the soy garlic). Authentic tasting pork bone soup and jajangmyeon :)
I do love this place, Ive tried a decent amount of their food and only didnt like one item. Other than that the chicken fried rice at this place is so flavourful & the LA galbi, which is Korean short rib is so tender and well seasoned. I highly recommend trying it and Im sure they would as well! The names on the menu might be confusing, but they are very helpful in explaining what youll get. Authentic Korean food, amazing tastes, thanks again!
I fell in love with this place when I visited it for the first time. All three beautiful ladies are so kind enough to serve me delectable food even when they were closing. The food is so delicious you will forget anything else. Also, thank you so much for some hair and skin tips.
Jjamppong is delicious~~
Food is tasty with great portions! Staff is lovely too. This is our go to spot for Korean cravings. Will not be disappointed!!
I originally love Korean food and usually go to one when I was in London area but I moved and barely have a chance to go back there. Guelph has no Korean restaurant so I found out about this place yesterday. I have always wanted to try Korean corn dog as I saw a lot of them in Toronto area via IG. They look so attempting. I ordered Kimchi soup and corn dog which tasted amazing! Staff was super nice and caring. This would be my favorite place. I love the food and the price is fair.
10/10 food 10/10 customer service 10/10 business!! The ladies who work here are nice and accommodating to vegetarian options!! The food is so delicious!! Definitely the best place for authentic Korean corn dogs The two on the left are mozzarella filled
The corndogs were very good and the customer service was so sweet!! If you re craving corndogs in Waterloo this is the spot to go! ps. try to go earlier in the day to make sure you get them before they sell out for the day :)
Nice korean restaurant! It has very nice dish with taste.
Honestly the food here is sooooo good! If you re looking for authentic Korean food this is the place to go! The staff is super friendly and helpful and they made me feel comfortable during my visit. Fried chicken, pork bone soup, corn cheese, bulgogi nachos, You can t go wrong with any of these choices, highly recommend!
Ordered through ubereat and went in the store to pick up. I headed to the restaurant once the app told me it was ready. However when I got there the food wasnt ready. I waited for almost 10mins and asked again. They told me something was wrong with their ubereat system (couldnt really understand) and I only have two choices: either continue to wait or cancel. The way how the staff talked to me just made me super uncomfortable and it had definitely ruined my day. Thanks Onnuri :)
Terrible service. They have not come to get the orders and the servers were arguing about something.
ordered bibimbap for take out, didnt even get my miso soup
Deliciously-made Korean food and good service. Definitely one of the better Korean restaurants in the Waterloo region. Super authentic! Price is also average and lots of menu options!
Take out service was absolutely terrible. Pre-ordered for 3pm pickup on Sunday afternoon. After waiting over 75 minutes, order was still not ready. I guess preorders for takeout are not a priority, yet price charged is same regardless of takeout or dine-in. Had this been dine-in I would have left after 45 mins of waiting.
Really good pork bone soup.
The food is good but don t understand why there s only one waitress during weekend busy hours .we literally waited at the door to be seated for 20mins while there s spot available and waited another 20mins to have something to drink .the restaurant is packed and there are lots of takeout orders so be prepared to wait for at least 1hr to have your food. MAKE sure u grab a snack before u come here for the service I just wouldn t want to dine-in again. The restaurant only likes to prepare Uber orders so don t understand why open dine-in
Amazing! Love the food here and the experience of trying new things! I love the flavours and options we have here. The only thing I dont like is seeing the disorganization of stock around the restaurant. Other than that the service is great and so is the food!
Cheese teokkboki had a lot of cheese, very filling, kind of heavy. The rice cake is very soft, not the chewy kind. Pork bone soup was kind of gamy????? Not a fan. Bulgogi was good though, would order again. Service was good, all servers are English speaking. kitchen was a tiny bit slow. Overall okay. They used to carry corn dogs which were super good!!!! But they no longer do
The chicken is delicious but it gave me mild food poisoning
Great food and reasonablely priced
A couple side dishes came with the main dishes we ordered and they were all tasty! Similar with most restaurants in Korea which is nice ;) Good price and portion also. The only concern I had was everything was a bit too salty but it was all still delicious.
Amazing! This is the first time I try Korean food with a fusion twist and I was in love! Absolutely amazing and delicious. I dont remember half the names for dishes here but it was worth every cent! I highly enjoyed it and look forward to coming back with my children. The service as well was amazing and the server was so kind to us! She explained certain dishes we had questions about with ease, made sure we also had everything we needed at all times which was nice. We are definitely coming back here!
Went for the first time last night and I was blown away by the service and quality of food. Portions are generous as well. Excited to keep going back to try new things on the menu!
I had great experience here with my kids. I finally found a real Korean taste here. Appreciate great food and service. We will see you often and soon. If you like Korean food i highly recommend this restaurant!
Loved the food and great service ^^
Foods were so delicious. Great service and smooth music. Thank you for all
Everything was so so good. I will definitely come back. Great service and awesome music. Thank you so much for everything.
Food was delicious but I ordered kimchi and cheese fried rice but only got kimchi fried rice in my take out order.
Came here for my small birthday gathering with friends and food was tasty and flavorful with excellent service and extremely friendly staffs. I ordered corn cheese, rabokki, bibimbap, jajangmyun and kimchi stew highly recommend.
Great food and service. The bulgogi is highly recommended.
