To no fault of the server/hostess unfortunately we had to cancel our reservation because they were incapable of seating us. Again to no fault of the servers or hostess. I just wish maybe we could have had more notice.

We celebrated my grandma s 39th Birthday and they gave us a birthday dessert plate! It was 2 small slices of brownies, 2 small slices of chocolate cake, and 2 ice cream scoops with some dollops of whipped cream. It was way more than other restaurants would ve given for free in terms a free dessert so we were impressed. Our waitress, Luiza, was amazing too! Absolutely recommend stopping by.

I went here on 6th of November to celebrate my birthday and Andrew the guy at this place made my birthday amazing. He was so kind, friendly and helpful and did his best to cater me and my friends. I really loved the service and refer it to my friends. And me and my friends would love to come again, because of Andrew. He also asked my name from my friends and sang a birthday song and gave us a birthday desert. Vegetarian options: The nachos and Mediterranean pasta were amazing.

Food is okay but unless you have packed an overnight bag you may want to bring a lunch. Not sure if there is anybody working in the kitchen but waiting for a single single item for over half an hour is pretty sad. I wouldve just cried in my beer but it didnt show up for ten minutes so all I could do is look around at the almost empty restaurant (most which arrived after me) and wonder if they were outsourcing to the Kitchener restaurant. Damn you Uber ! Seems par for the course based on my other visits. Clearly the owner has other interests.

Service was slow, it took forever for for to come out. When food came out, wrong sides were on the plate. Ribs were over cooked and burnt. Food was quality was poor. Server was nice and apologized for the experience. I wouldnt return.

*UPDATE: We emailed the email address Piper Arms provided in response to this review. Havent heard back at all. They dont take their customer concerns seriously! Very disappointing! Finally getting a chance to write this review. We frequent this place many late nights (x2 per week) but as of lately past couple months, the service and inconsistency in food has caused me to write this review. It was myself and my husband. We went on a Friday night (around 9pm) and it was not busy. We were served by a small dark skinned girl (very short) and she was not attentive at all. FIRST - we had to wait over 10 minutes standing at the entrance before anyone even seated us. We were looking around wondering where the servers were and we saw 2 walk past us and did not even acknowledge us. We were about to flag someone and someone finally came to seat us. AFTER SEATING - it took another 15 minutes before someone came over. This was the smalll and short dark skinned girl. She did not introduce herself with her name at all. She seemed pleasant enough at first. She proceeded to take our order DRINKS - Getting drinks was slow as well! We waited for another 10-12 minutes before our simple drinks of water and 1 beer arrived. We requested lemons in water. Server forgot the lemons. The server took our appetizer orders. APPS - We did not get our apps until 15-20 minutes after ordering. They were not fancy apps and quite simple deep fried apps so there is no reason why on a slow night, apps took so long. A. Calamari was presented properly, poor portion size, and inconsistent with prior visits. There was a severe lack of jalapeños (seems they replaced it with a cheaper less spicy hot pepper mix with yellow and red peppers) and it was not on a bed of fresh lettuce which is what we had been used to in our many past visits. Some calamari was also burnt, chewy or undercooked. Poor portion size compared to what we were used to. We used to get a huge, heaping portion and they must have reduced the size to maybe 1/4 of that. Quite disappointed. B. Chili Chicken was completely oversaturated in an overly sweet sauce to the point where the bed of lattice fries underneath were soaked and soggy! So sweet we couldnt finish the dish. Basically 50% sauce. It was also served almost cold. C. Artichoke Dip was OK. But lack of the chips and pita, we ended up with a ton of leftover dip. The proportions were not good. We counted 8 tiny slices of pita and maybe a handful of corn chips for a decent sized bowl of artichoke dip. Need to add significantly more chips / pita! D. Sweet Potato Fries These were delicious. They dont salt them though. They also do not give enough Chipotle dipping sauce! Need to provide significantly more sauce for the fries. One tiny sauce does not work for the large sweet potato fries. SERVICE - Server did not even check up on us a single time. We wanted more water, had to flag her after waiting 20 minutes. No apologies for the wait. We never complained about the food we got as we dont typically complain if its still edible due to risk of food wastage. Took forever to get the bill. And by this time, server seemed miserable and we did not feel welcomed or appreciated by her. SUMMARY Given the significant amount of waiting time, inconsistency of food and poor service from this server, we are considering choosing a new place to eat at regularly. We will give this place another chance to improve.

Got two slices of their vegan carrot cake..... Its so gross.

Our waitress was really nice, but after the meal came we were of little concern. 3 out of 5 meals were subpar. The wings were decent but the rest of our meals were underwhelming. Pasta was very small, quesadillas were full of predominately green peppers and Reuben sandwich had minimal meat and toppings. They were also all very bland in flavour. Would have really liked to give this place a better review.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience. I have been here multiple times and have waited longer than stated however am happy with the food. I scheduled an order today in advance and arrived on time, only to be told that it was being packaged. However, I ended up waiting for 25 minutes. When I got home, the food was cold. I called to address the issue and had a frustrating argument with an employee. They said that I could bring the food back to the store for it to be remade. This level of service is unacceptable and has left me very dissatisfied.

Menu is too large, not always consistent But staff is lovely especially Daniella Our go to place for a late night bite. 10th, July 2022 2:30pm Daniella is still a lovely waitress so personable and attentive! Revisited Pipers on Saturday and had the worst service ever!!! I do not think we will ever be returning! This was one of our favorite places, maybe not always for the food but for the staff as well. Our waiter whose name starts with D started out by confronting us with our original review mentioning our server Daniella...Very unprofessional, you dont do that. We ordered wings and I ordered a rib wing combo! He messed up our order, wings and ribs...how do you get that wrong??? We waited over 40 mins for our food, while customers seated after us were served. We were two children and two adults. The childrens food came and we the adults waited another 10 minutes for our food! The manager came apologized and tried to fix it. He offered 30% off but it was an unpleasant experience! Eating out is not just about the food, it is an experience and It felt like the waiter Deliberately gave us bad service to prove a point! He never came back to say anything, avoided us the whole time we were there after the mess up! So sad

First dining experience here. Have been to the Piper Arms in Cambridge. Out of the four of us, half of us liked our meals. I liked the fries! Service was okay but slow. Had to find the waitress to take our order. Very loud voices, kid screaming! I will not return.

We were there on Tuesday after the August long weekend. Not busy at all got seated promptly. Ordered drinks and they came quickly and so did our appetizer. The battered mushrooms were delicious. Main course came I ordered the stuffed Yorkshire my wife ordered the steak and lobster med rare. My Yorkshire came with mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables. First off everything was cold and to top it off the Yorkshire pudding was like rubber and the roast beef was full of grizzle and tasted like leather. Wife s steak was more on the rare side than medium rare but she could eat it. The took my meal back and I went with the steak and lobster med rare mashed potatoes and vegetables. This time everything was warm but got rice instead of mashed potatoes and the steak was on the rare side again. It was edible and had a great flavour. The one thing that surprised us was there was no compensation of any sort offered. Most restaurants will offer you percentage off or something. Let s say we tried them out and we won t come back.

The vibe here is very good on a game day, was here for the olympics soccer game Can vs Germany. The appetiszers were really!! Will recommend the spinach dip and butter chicken wonton!! For the mains steak and lobster is a must have here, was cooked perfectly.

I visited this place couple of times before, but won t go ever again, thanks to the staff for being so rude and racist. I went here with my wife and a friend and one of the staff saw us entering and didn t even bother to attend us or get us a place to sit, after sitting for more than 15 mins, no one attended us, so I went ahead and asked at the Counter that we are waiting to order food, she started talking rudely and said that unless our staff asks us to seat we cannot seat, I asked her a simple question, there was no one at the entrance and the staff who saw us, didn t bother to ask or welcome us, so am I supposed to stand there itself on the entrance, upon asking this she s like unless we say you can t sit by yourself, there s nothing mentioned on the entrance that you cannot enter and sit yourself, and if staff after seeing a customer can t attend them purposely, than that s rude, I mean we pay for the services and the food, I mean Restaurant s are supposed to be Service based industry, you can t treat your customers like this. And when we decided to leave, that rude Girl didn t even bothered to ask us about the situation. Terrible experience, for a Tourist.

Fantastic menu so much choice . Great deal on lunch $12:99 for nice size portions . Would recommend. Only 1 drawback . The Air conditioning is on too low . Not pleasant to dine when youre cold . Luckily we were able to sit on the patio this time .

Second try at Pipers Arms Waterloo, much better than the first. Our server was very pleasant and experienced and took the time to chat with us. The food was average this time around. I had the California chicken wrap & salad & my son had the fish and chips. Wrap was decent , the fish was greasy and too heavily battered. The restaurant seemed busy for a rainy Saturday afternoon. I understand the head chef is on holiday so the kitchen maybe struggling. For drinks and a quick bite this is an ok spot, maybe not so much for fine dining. Keep reasonable expectations .

Very disappointed with the service & quality of food. I have been to the Kitchener location, frequently for lunch with good food & service. Unfortunately the Waterloo location offers neither. Our server was not very experienced, besides slopping our drinks on the table she was very inattentive. Our Nacho appetizer was brought out with mains. 2 people from our party ordered salads and said they were fine. I ordered the Stuffed Yorkshire that was served lukewarm and tasteless. The Yorkshire was spongy and the roast beef was fatty and chewy, terrible. The wings were tiny, meatless and very stringy. We asked for waters 3 times, and finally received them at the end of our meal. Our Nacho appetizer was comped and we received numerous apologies for the poor service & food. There are way t choices in Uptown Waterloo for dining, and we will not be returning. Find out what your Kitchener location is doing and try to duplicate it quickly. *I have provided my contact info and management has followed up. Thank you.

Service was slow, food is bit pricey for portions. My one cocktail was okay, my wife s mai tai was too sweet, asked server to double confirm but she was rude about it. I would rather go to charcoal than here again.not impressed

I never give bad reviews. The restaurant industry is hard enough. This was the absolute worst food Ive had in a while. Burgers were tough, also cold. We had two burgers, we also had a pulled pork sandwich and it looked like someone punched it. Honestly I should call the health department with how cold the burgers were. They were nowhere close to what is acceptable. I dont return food, and we didnt mention it. We left half our food on our plates. Will def. not be going back nor will we suggest anyone should go for food. So incredibly disappointed.

Piper Arms Pub: A Mixed Bag for Euro 2024 My overall experience at Piper Arms Pub was decent, but theres definitely room for improvement. The atmosphere during Euro 2024 was electric, with an energetic crowd roaring with every goal. It was the perfect place to catch the game and soak in the excitement. Drinks arrived promptly, which is always a plus in a busy pub setting. However, the food was a letdown. Our meals took an unusually long time to arrive, and when they did, they were disappointingly lukewarm. A real shame, as the menu looked promising. One aspect that could really use some attention is the cleanliness of the bathrooms. They were not up to par, and a little more upkeep would go a long way in improving the overall impression of the pub. In summary, Piper Arms Pub is a solid choice for drinks and sports viewing, particularly during major events like Euro 2024. However, be prepared for a potential wait for food, and dont expect culinary excellence.

I have never wrote a review before on google so here goes my first. I decided to go to this place for the Canada vs. Argentina game. When we arrived, we found a seat. After waiting 40 minutes for our food, we finally got it and finished eating in 10 minutes. As soon as we were done, the waiter asked if we wanted the bill. I accepted, assuming we could stay for the rest of the game, but I was wrong. As soon as the bill was paid, she asked us to leave so another table could be seated. Unbelievable. I wont be eating here again anytime soon. To top it all off, the burger was bad.

Ive been here on a few occasions. I find the service friendly and efficient. They have comparable prices on beers and twists on pub fare. I recommend a night out in Waterloo or a great place to start your night.

Katrina, Aileen, Luiza, and Kim always provide a warm welcome and exceptional service no matter how busy they are. We dont need to go anywhere else!!

I donno why they call the burger Signature ; nothing was signature about it. It was tasteless, it didn t have any sauce in it, very dry, a burger bread that was not fresh, and very large chops of raw red onions inside the bread. I couldn t eat it even with ketchup! Service was poor too. Too much waiting time for the food that had low quality and the server never came to ask how the food was, whether we liked it or not .

Service was great. The waitress who served us was very nice! But the food was concerning to say the least. Went out to this spot with my wife on Monday June 3rd. Ordered some apps. Taquitos, calamari, Mussel pasta dish and a Salami Ruben Sandwich. They had forgotten the Calamari which was no big deal, so we just thought wed eat the taquitos. When they arrived they were seriously undercooked and it looked like they were rolled in a raw dough pizza breadstick. When I got the Ruben the portion was extremely small which I thought was interesting because there is a picture of it on the menu and the salami was not fresh, Dry as paper and didnt taste very good. I do realize its a cured meat so it can be dry, but I have had many Rubens before and the meat was always nice and fresh. I decided to write this review when I got home and my stomach started to feel pretty upset. Again, the service was great, but I will probably not come back here.

Genuinely enjoy the chicken parm and my friends enjoyed their food each time as well. Never came during busy hours, but decided to come during a Monday night. Sat down and did not receive service until 15 minutes after sitting down. Understandable for a busy night, except the server only came over because she recognized a customer and realized we have been waiting. Waited another 30 minutes to receive our food. Overall not a bad experience, it s worth checking out during hours that are less busy.

Best mussels Ive had since I moved away from cape Breton.. bar tender was wonderful, I was a little tipsy and forgotten I had 1 more drink than what I thought so naturally I said I only had whatever many and she immediately went and checked the cameras and confirmed she was charging me for the right amount.. I would never want to not pay for what I ordered or rip a place off and she was extremely friendly about it... Definitely a great place, thank you guys!

While visiting Waterloo recently I stopped in this pub and ordered a yorkshire pudding, beef and gravy. It was good, but not spectacular. There was a reasonable selection of nice beer, the service was good and the NHL playoffs were on. Food does not have to be spectacular for one to enjoy visiting a restaurant, and that is the case here. Id have no hesitation going back to this pub in the future.

Placed an online order and was not disappointed! The food was delicious, hot and plentiful. Great portion sizes and flavours. They were out of the halibut when I order so the staff called and asked if I wouldnt mind a substitution of haddock and an extra piece. Very tasty! Yummy Cajun wings and dino nuggies for the kids. 10/10!

By far the best Menu for a pub in KW! Nothing can compete. Usually when a pub has a menu this large it is hard for the kitchen to keep up. I dont know how they do it, but everything on it is 10/10 (and Ive had most of the menu at this point) Looking for nice pub vibes with a large menu that wont disappoint.. this is your place!

Online 2 for 1 deal. Ordered the bbq ribs and dry Cajun wings with fries and coleslaw. Huge portion and delicious. The ribs were the star. We were very happy and had lots of leftovers.

We just had a family lunch at this location and we were blown away by the prices, portions, and atmosphere. Our server Kim was fantastic and took care of our needs and was very friendly. She was kind with my young daughter and gave us prompt service. This is going to be a new favourite spot for us to visit...cant wait for the patio in the summer!

Great experience overall! The service by Aastha was amazing and she was super friendly and helpful, and made our visit very fun! The food was good but nothing too crazy for pub food, though the extensive menu gives lots of options. Nachos were a nice start, if a bit lacking on the toppings (especially cheese). The Manhattan steak was good with nice toppings and great presentation, though some steak sauce would have been nice with it. The fajitas were also quite good, with the chicken being well seasoned. Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options, more than other restaurants in uptown Waterloo.

This well-appointed little Pub is in the heart of Uptown Waterloo. Its an inviting, comfortable space; although it does help if youre ok with big screen TVs...there are no shortage of those. I had the California Shrimp salad. The combination of mixed greens, avocado, strawberries, glazed pecans, and goat cheese, oh yeah, and shrimp, was impressive. The house raspberry vinaigrette topped it off perfectly. My comrade spoke highly of the chicken wings. KWs Light Rail Transit will let you off right at the front door. Parking: Public Transit is also close by.

Great service and friendly staff

We ordered 3 different dishes. Server was very confused and did not really understand our requests. We asked for extra confinements and server did not bring them in a timely manner. One of the individual from our party asked for a Hot Toddy. Server who was also a bartender mentioned she does not know what the drink is. My friend elaborated that he wishes to get 1 shot of whiskey, a splash of hot water, honey, and some cinnamon. Server brought the drink out shortly. Food was okay but nothing special. Server was not attentive much. We asked for our bills to be split and once server brought out a receipt we were surprised. My friend was charged $11 for a shot of whiskey with hot water. Is this a joke? We asked for a manager to look over the bill to ensure this is correct. Young blonde Caucasian manager came over to our table and said that we were charged $11 for a drink since 2oz of whiskey was added. We mentioned that this is not what we asked for and asked for the bill to be modified to be charged for 1oz only. This was done for us after going back and forth for some time. Shortly after, the same manager came up to us and bluntly asked my friend why he did not tip a server. This has put us in a very uncomfortable position. Working in a hospitality industry myself, I could never imagine questioning customers tipping habits. I do realize, tips in restaurants have became an expectation, however us choosing not to tip because of poor service is solely our decision. Needless to note, washroom was quite dirty and while I understand that you might be short staffed due to holiday season you have to ensure overall ambience is focused on contributing to customers experience of your establishment. I would not recommend this place and I highly doubt we will come back.

Had a great night at Piper Arms yesterday. The place was packed, but the servers did a great job handling the crowd and management was very cooperative and supportive when our order took a little time.

This was my first time out since recently having to get vaxxed. I was feeling very down about the situation but I am so glad I chose to eat out at Pipers Arms Waterloo! My server Katryna was amazing, made sure my food was perfect although I was so indecisive she recommended the perfect meal! Also Deba I m not sure if he was the manager but he also came to check our table and brought out extra apps. I ll definitely be here again. Thanks for the great experience.

Food was good. First server ,a young lady ,amazing and so helpful! Second time (a young man) was confused and forgetful which is understandable for a busy night like new year eve! I asked for 9oz wine but got a6 instead (still 9oz was billed) . We realized about the bill afterwards . Serving a sizzling food with too much oil indoor in a crowded night gave us a hard time.it was burning two tables away from us and was awful. We couldnt even breathe of burning oil smell. Otherwise acceptable experience overall.

I would review this as average / maybe just a bit above. 3.5 if I could give a true rating. It took a bit to get our drinks, but our service was nice when we got it. It was a pretty dead night, so it felt odd for the service to take as long as it did. The food was pretty good! The poutines were good and the whiskey sour was also good. Nothing exceptional or unique though.

Its been a goto place since i arrived in waterloo , located in prime location at waterloo public square , the staff are very friendly they makes you feel at home and always welcomes with a smile .. special mention to astha and katrina .. also the food is good a few to mention are items like nachos , wings and antijitos

Went out for dinner on New Year s Eve, it s a cute place. My server was great, and the food was yummy. The manager was really cute too! Welcoming energy. Would recommend

This is my first time eating at this establishment. They have a wide variety of selections on the menu including gf options, you get a good size portion and all reasonably priced. Who orders yorkshire pudding for delivery as a true lover knows the temperature it should be ate at..I did and good decision. The food was delicious, still hot and packaged in containers keeping veggies from going soggy from gravy!!! I recommend this restaurant and look forward to more great meals.

Great lunchtime deals, delicious food and huge menu. Something for everyone here and prices reasonable. Every day had a different deal too such as 1/2 price apps, wing night, etc.

We love uptown Waterloos Pipers. My husband and I have been coming regularly and bring many friends and family, since we started dating. The service is always exceptional, their menu is huge with a great variety of healthy options and pub grub, and have great discount days for our budget. Their food has interesting flavors and fusions. We always love our waitresses here. Tonight our waitress was Aastha, and when we told her how great she is as a waitress and how much we appreciate her, she told us shes brand new at waitressing. Wow! We are very impressed. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options too. My parents really have a hard time finding somewhere to eat when theyre in town after typical restaurant hours, but we impressed them by bringing them here. Dietary restrictions: I and my family and friends have many dietary restrictions but their menu is big enough that we always find a variety of tasty and affordable options to eat. Parking: Close easy free parking

First time coming here, came for lunch had teriyaki rice was absolutely delicious, good service lots smiles and nice small talk made me feel welcomed. Im not much bar person so I cannot comment on layout or alcohol service as I do not drink. Vegetarian options: Saw a decent menu for alternative eating with lots appealing options.

Friendly and patient waitress. Reasonable selection of meals and snacks. Fair prices. 2 out of our party of 5 struggled with the amount of food even though it was tasty. The vegetables could have done with a bit longer cooking as it was hard to put a fork into them

The entire order arrived cold. Im not certain if our order was this atrocious because we ordered last minute? I mean, its pretty bad. The antojitos are cold and soggy, the spring rolls are cold, the onion soup is cold and the cheese on top is hard and lumpy. We ordered 2 pepsi and got 2 gingerale instead. We also ordered jalapeno poppers and didnt even get those at all! This has to be one of the most disappointing meals Ive ordered.

Ordered Shepherds Pie from them and received this. This is not the Pie at ALL but just a mix of beef, the worst tasting experience ever. The kitchen mustve forgot to place and bake the pie on the beef!

Overall pretty good experience. Food needs a little more attention while preparing. No doubt the taste was there. Utensils can be a little more dry before serving to the customers.

Edit: The manager offered me nachos and a appetizer, they were very good. They definitely made up for the last time. Also when i went in on a busy night( halloween event) they did not give me any problems and were happy to accommodate. My experience here was terrible. The only good thing was the server and i wish i could remember her name. I had ordered nachos to take out online. I got there much later then it said my food would be ready. The kitchen could not find my order. The server even asked me if it was for this location and i had to show her the email to prove it was. Then they finally found my order. So i was left waiting while they made it. The nachos were terrible by the way. This was the second time i have ordered from this place and i will not be doing that again. The servers do an amazing job and they are very nice but I m not sure what is going on with the kitchen.

We went for lunch on a Sunday. I got a Rueben with an upgrade to a Greek salad for $2 for a total of $15. The salad was large and fresh. The sandwich had good bread, but a little less meat than I expected. My wife got the fish and chips. The fries were obviously frozen from a supplier. The fish had very thick breading and was overcooked. The one piece was really dark on the one end. She got a margarita that was quality. First visit. For the price, I think Malt & Barley in Kitchener might be a better choice. The pub business is very competitive and there s several to choose from within walking distance of this one. **** edit *** so the owners of this place reached out and asked me to contact them so I did. They didn t respond in any way. I think that the comment was just so that they could publicly look like they cared a little bit. I was very nice in my review. The reality is, we have gotten better fish from Captain Highliner cooked in the microwave. We won t be going back and we don t recommend that you go either. They are the ones that asked for Google reviews. It s right on the receipt.
