Our delightful Chef s Table tasting evening was more than savouring wagu steak, sturgeon caviar and summer truffles. It was Chef Ryan sharing his passion and stories about each of the 7 courses that made the evening a memorable experience. Can hardly wait to do it again. Vegetarian options: Appreciated loads of veg options, and the menu was very detailed about the ingredients in each dish!

Wow, what an amazing restaurant! Located in Waterloo, CA, inside the Delta Hotel, this spot is a true gem. The lamb shank is absolutely outstanding, the steak bowl is a flavorful masterpiece, and the salmon is equally impressive. Honestly, every menu item we tried was fantastic! They offer a great selection of beers, wines, and mocktails, making it perfect for any occasion. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and they even have dedicated spaces for large groups. Our group of 11 had an incredible time. The staff is top-notch attentive, detail-oriented, and committed to exceptional service. If you re in Waterloo, CA, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit! It was our 50th anniversary and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food was great as was the service. The atmosphere/decor is very lovely. Parking: We were there on a Sunday at 4pm for dinner and had no problems parking close to the door.

We were there Saturday night with a group of 12 people to celebrate 2 birthdays. Food was mostly wonderful. 5 burgers were ordered. A few were cold when served. Kitchen needs to work on timing for large groups to ensure all food is served warm. A few of us ordered drinks and appetizers from the Happy hour menu. We paid on 5 different bills. Happy hour menu options that we ordered were charged at full price and took a lot to get server to change it. She only changed for appetizers and not for drinks. Bills were also a mixed up. Overall fairly good experience. Bills were never fixed properly, so we fixed it amongst ourselves. Vegetarian options: A few options. Parking: License plate information is left at front counter so restaurant patrons do not have to pay for parking.

We made a reservation for dinner 2 weeks before and requested a quiet booth. When we arrived and confirmed our reservation, we were taken into the bar area by the hostess and directed to one of the tall bar tables. I explained to her that we wanted to be seated in the restaurant, not bar. She stated that the restaurant was completed booked, and I replied that yes, we booked a reservation for the restaurant, not the bar. She left then reappeared and seated us at a table in the restaurant. The food was ok at best. I had the fish and chips which were nothing special, with 2 small pieces. The fries were tasteless and overcooked. My wife had the Coastal Risotto and again, the fish and shrimp had no flavour. This is not our first visit to this restaurant, but I am hesitant to go back. I am not one to be critical of restaurant food (see my other reviews) but feel that Proof can do better. Our server was the savior and did an excellent job. Service would have been 5 star, except the the issue when we arrived.

Had a reso booked for a birthday and they didnt have any room left so we had to split between three tables. I understand it was busy but we had a reservation booked weeks ahead. I think we all decided to pass on returning for future gatherings. Its unfortunate because this used to be monthly visit for our getaways.

We ate a great breakfast here while staying in the hotel. We ordered off the menu and had the buffet. Both had some great options. Our server took great care of us. Our only complaint was the music. Horrible music selection and it was so muffled, distorted and a bit loud. Other than that we would recommend it.

I have visited Proof Kitchen and Lounge multiple times, but unfortunately, my experiences have been less than satisfactory. The biggest issue is the persistent problem with flies. During my recent visit, there were many flies buzzing around our table, but I didnt ask to be reseated somewhere else because I realized they were visible all around the restaurant as well. Its quite unappetizing and something that seriously needs to be addressed. Another recurring problem is that any modifications or simple requests get disregarded consistently. For example, on three separate occasions, I specifically asked for no onions on my burger, got confirmation from the server and yet each time it arrived with onions. This kind of oversight is frustrating and suggests a lack of attention. While the ambiance and food are decent, these issues significantly detract from the overall dining experience. EDIT: I reached out to the email after seeing the response below, and its been a few weeks with no reply. Clearly this is only meant to save face with a canned response, and its disappointing that you dont want to even follow up on what seem to be serious sanitary issues.

Good food, service was very slow due to a wedding party ahead of us which we were not made aware of when we sat down.

I normally enjoy dining here. The waiter was not good at all. She looked like she was forced to work there. Bad service, didnt get to enjoy our food, there were flies too. We waited an hour to be seated even though we made reservation. We didnt get to choose the cake for the birthday girl, we got a cake that wasnt good at all.

We booked the fully private room for our Sun Life event. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. We will come again for sure!

For Your Information So we made a reservations for our anniversary celebration hoping we would get a nice romantic table. They sat us in the middle of a room in a mainly empty restaurant...why? We ordered the dinner for 2 steak dinner. For that price point we got 3 cut strips of steak each and one small serving of vegetables and mash potatoes to share, $85.00?? Also went during happy hour and tried to order off the happy hour menu were told its not happy hour? Its 5:15 happy hour goes to 6:00. Im being honest here, we we both left hungry.

Food and service great but the floor was sticky

We arrived early to enjoy the Happy Hour (3:00 till 6:00) drinks and food as the prices are good with a reasonable number of app choices. Our friends had the Nosh which was a better choice then the Arancini Rice Balls I had. To drink I had the red Happy Hour house wine which was pleasant balanced. The restaurant was full for a Thursday night ( which is a good sign) with a number of Company Christmas parties happening. You had to though at times get the servers attention due to the full house, so thats the only reason I gave Service 4 stars. The staff were all very pleasant, notably the Manager! I had the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich on a bao burger bun. The chicken was plentiful, tender and had a nice spicy kick. Loved the Kimchi on it. The meal came with a very nice salad that helped cool down and balance the spice. I would definitely order this again. On a previous visit, I had the Salmon à la Cassoulet which I would also highly recommend. Loved the atmosphere and the food!

My partner and I went to Proof for the first time for my birthday dinner tonight, and it was great. Our server, Mallory, was super attentive and accommodating. I would recommend trying the strawberry sangria and the fish tacos. I would 100% go again.

The quality is subpar, portion sizes are disappointingly small, and the prices feel unjustified. While the atmosphere and service are commendable, the primary focus of any restaurant, the food-needs significant improvement.

we had a girls night here and absolutely loved it. we sat at the bar until our table was ready and the bartender was so friendly and very educated on all the drinks. once we sat at our table our server was amazing, food was great and the staff made it seem like we were at home. definitely will be here again!

my party of four was very happy with the quality of the whole dining service. Food was excellent, care taken for me as a celiac, and we had a great visit together. They all said they would come back.

The service was extreamly slow, we got there at 7:15 and our orders weren t taken until after 8pm and then we got our dinner and not once were we asked if the food was good or if they could refill our drinks. We then wait around for the bill for 30 minutes after we were done eating. The food was good but the service ruined the experience.

We were celebrating our anniversary today and I must say the only thing that disappointed me about dining in Proof was 0 recognition for a special occasion. When we got there, the hostess emphasized to her colleague that there was a comment on the reservation (which was a note from me saying we were celebrating our anniversary). Then, when our waitress introduced herself she asked once again if we were celebrating something, which I replied with yes, our anniversary she just congratulated us and proceeded to take our orders. I was expecting if not a complementary dessert, at least a little written note on the cake but once again, nothing. I was going through your reviews and for my (not) surprise you, in fact, gave a couple a complementary dessert on their anniversary just months back. Not sure why this time you didn t take the bother to recognize ours, but I d expect to receive the same treatment as other couples had in the past, knowing that we spent almost $200 tonight. I just know that I wouldn t choose Proof again to celebrate something special like a birthday or anniversary. You guys can do better than this.

We dined in while staying at Delta Marriott Hotel in Waterloo. This establishment is very convenient for the hotel guests - it is the same building and one does not have to go outside. Had some appetizers and enjoyed few drinks, and that is all. We liked the food, the service and everything about this place. Highly recommend their fish taco. Too bad they do not serve octopus taco any longer - that one was amazing!

Had a great anniversary meal at Proof. The service was excellent, food was very good and overall pricing was good. Only complaint that cost a star is being seated so close to another couple. The only two tables for two are almost within arms length, actually sharing a cushioned bench!?! There were lots of empty tables for four that would have been more comfortable, especially for a special dinner. The coastal seafood risotto was excellent and the mushroom ravioli was very good. The added chicken was a little dry. The blueberry grunt dessert was amazing.

The food was as expected, but the service was not the best. Which could have been as a result of the hour that we went. They were prepping for breakfast the next day.

A nice place to meet friends, enjoy a drink and a very good meal. The atmosphere is comfortable and generously appointed with very neat and tidy millwork in what I believe is western Douglas Fir. We really liked our experience and plan to return.

Went here today for the Thanksgiving turkey dinner. The restaurant seemed dirty when we arrived. We have been here in the past and I was shocked at the state of the place. started with a salad which was great but it took 3 tries to get the server (Haley) to bring Pepper to the table. She also forgot to bring our sparkling water and beer that my soninlaw ordered. Once the food came out the flies started. There were so many flies that not 1 of the 8 of us were enjoying our meal. The meal itself was cold and consisted of dried out dressing bacon wrapped turkey filet which was cold and pureed cold carrots. The potatoes were great. We were all expecting real turkey not a filet. We made the best of it. Dessert was to be pumpkin pie. Haley came back to our table with the bill and said I assume youll take your pumpkin pie with you to which my husband asked are you asking us to leave? We all could not believe she said this. We felt like we were being pushed out and it was only 2pm . We did get our pumpkin pie which was delicious and I also ordered a coffee. When the coffee came the cup looked very dirty so I asked the server why my cup looked dirty. She said she spilt the coffee over the top of it and it was a clean cup. She did take my cup back and got me a cleaner looking one. We paid our bills and left. This experience could have been a one off but it has left a sour taste in my mouth and I dont think we ll return. All in all it was great getting together with family for Thanksgiving.

Why so many flies? For the time of year and lack of any doors being wide open there was an extreme amount of flies buzzing around us. The turkey dinner was okay. If had been a little warmer it would have been great. The server forgot items many times which I normally would never say anything about but there were only a few tables occupied so it wasnt because of volume. Had a latte and a glass of water, both done before lunch came, water was never refilled. Weve been here many times and this was rare but also based on experience we were seeing at tables around us maybe it wasnt that rare? Hopefully this is just a bad day.

Great service and atmosphere. Servers are very friendly. Food was not good salad leaves were welting, avocados did not taste fresh (seemed like the salad was prepared hours ago or overnight), falafels did not have correct texture, just mushy (should have used chickpea instead of chickpea flour), burger meat was overcooked but had good flavour. We like the fries. The updated menu looks good but the ingredients and cooking need improvement. Kids menus are quite good.

Went there to celebrate my friends bday . we had such high hopes but unfortunately, we were very disappointed . The grilled calamari was amazing ! However , the duck and tuna entre were terrible . We waiting over an hour for our meals and when we got it , it was stone cold. My friend tried to tell our waiter but he walked away. Three days later and Im still recovering from the duck .. Needless to say , we all agreed we will not be back.

I got the beef lamb tacos, my friend the fish tacos and everyone else got the Mac and cheese. Overall, the food was amazing, personally I loved loved the lamb tacos. They were so tender and juicy. And my friend said the fish tacos were really nice and crispy. The Mac cheese wasn t your traditional Mac and cheese as it had pesto and much more added onto a regular Mac and cheese. But it was amazing. For drinks we got the strawberry fields drink and the drink itself was so good, however my friend did find a lash in hers so it had to be remade. Also the waiter was almost nowhere to be found at times, so if we needed something we d have to wait for a long time for her to come over. So the service was alright. I went for lunch after traveling to Goderich, Ontario with my parents. We were pleasantly surprised with a wide variety of culinary items on the menu. More than the food, we were impressed with an exceptional waiter named Mitchell . He was attentive, helpful and was very patient.

Had both breakfast and lunch here and can t remember a worse experience. I am guessing here, but the chef has no idea what nutritious food is. As always I go for the vegan options. Well there are none. However they said they could accommodate vegan at breakfast. Well, they served melon, carrots, lettuce and cucumber. Who can survive on that?! The day after we were served lunch. Lettuce, a few blueberries and something deep fried that looked like masked chick pees. It tasted bad and made my stomach ache. My colleagues had a normal breakfast and lunch, but they experienced the same low quality and lack of nutrients. Stay away! And find another place if you stay at this hotel. The hotel is rather good, it s just the restaurant that needs a lift. But there are good restaurant options nearby. PürSimple for breakfast and Copper Branch for lunch and dinner.

Not only is it a pleasure to dine in, their catering service is wonderful. Sandwiches were all delicious with vegan and vegetarian options as well. On the occasion of my sons first birthday, we were fortunate to have the cheff add a cake and cookies on the house. Thank you Proof. Great, friendly service. Very delicious food. My friend ordered cocktails and loved every one of them, so good drinks too! We were out celebrating my friend s new job, and they gave him a complimentary dessert which happened to be vegan and gluten free..usually a big yuck LOL but it was sooo yummy! I also noticed the variety of gluten free options, my mother has Celiac Disease so I will most definitely be bringing her here next time she s in town. Big win all around, will absolutely be returning.

Our wait-person was professional, efficient, friendly and helpful. The restaurant was great for six of us to meet for our book club and be able to hear each other. We had grilled salmon, Greek lamb tacos, Korean fried chicken sandwich, and the Tekkadon bowl; everyone was happy with their food. Also the creme brulee and turtle torte desserts were excellent. Well be going back.

My beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection with a wonderfully caramelized crust, buttery mash potatoes and tender seasonal vegetables. We ate early enough for happy hour prices on our drinks and a couple of appetizers which was a bonus. The interior is very tastefully decorated and has a nice atmosphere, although we were missing any background music, which would ve kicked it up to 11. Matty was an excellent and friendly server. We havent been to Proof in over 2 year and were very excited to go. Last time we were there, the atmosphere was amazing and the food was incredible. Sadly, all of that has changed. I had the Chicken Supreme and it was the blandest tasting food Ive ever eaten. The chicken didnt even taste like real chicken. The mashed potatoes were the only nice part about the meal. My friend had a salad with berries, unfortunately her salad just tasted salty and she had to send it back. She got another salad, however it wasnt appetizing either. The door to the patio was open, which meant that there were tons of flies in the restuarant. We were swatting flies away the whole time we were there. The only good part of the meal was the service. Our server Paris was amazing and attentive. Unfortunately, we wont be returning to Proof.

We went out for our anniversary and have not been disappointed in a restaurant this badly in a long time. When arriving the patio was not available. It was reserved which ok, but still would have been nice. Water served was luke warm. There was no music playing in the restaurant which was weird. We ordered our meals and 45 min of waiting we asked what the eta for the food was. We were told the steak being medium well is what took long. It needs extra time. The entire time we were waiting we were being swarmed with fruit flies. We finally received our food after almost an hour of waiting (another table that sat after us got their food before us) our food arrived. My steak was overcooked but at this point we were so hungry I didn t want to run the risk of waiting an absorbent amount of time for another one. I mentioned the problems to the waitress and we got offered a free $11 dessert. At this point we had been at the restaurant for almost 2 hours. I was not wanting to wait more for a dessert that I wasn t even desired. This was our first time here and we saw the atmosphere online, the higher end menu and were looking forward to our experience. Unfortunately that will be our last time there.

I discovered this restaurant 500 meters from where I was staying during my short stay in Waterloo, as I was in a hurry and only ordered one dish. Very quiet, very delicious, , the taste I like very much, worth recommending the restaurant

We had a reservation for 7 people including two children for 9:00 breakfast. When we arrived at the restaurant we had to look for a service person to set a table for us that was supposed to be ready as per reservation. This took another 15 minutes. From the time that we set down and the waitress took our orders, it took another hour, a whole hour until the food started arriving. The waitress was apologetic, obviously this was beyond her control. For us, it was mostly embarrassing since we were hosting friends from Toronto and we chose Proof for our earlier positive experience. This wasn t. And the food itself, classic eggs breakfasts, wasn t good either, not fresh, not tasty. That was all very disappointing.

We were SO pleased with our night out at Proof. Service was wonderful, the menu had so many wonderfully unique choices that I will have to go back soon. Our meals were beautifully plated and SO delicious, we even found a new wine we loved. I think this will be our new favourite date night spot.

We had Conner for a server. He was polite, professional, and patient. I had the steak truffle burger - one of the best burgers Ive eaten in KW. It was well priced and filling. My wife had the wild mushroom ravioli. She absolutely loved it. It was filling enough for her, I have a feeling with my bigger appetite it wouldnt have quite done it. We will definitely be back.

A girls night out here was a disaster. Service was horrible. Caesar salad was awful .who can wreck a Caesar salad? We requested the patio but were told it was full so we were seated in the bar. Waited 30 minutes for our drinks, longer for food and even after going to the hostess and asking for our bill we waited 45 minutes. The entire time that we were in the bar we observed continually empty tables on the patio. If we were going to be ignored we could have been seated at a real table on the patio instead of juggling our meals at tiny tables and on our laps. Proof has been given several chances. No more. Sole is looking like a great alternative right across the street.

I went there with my family for lunch on Sunday. We ordered lattes which were cold when they came to us. The food took about an hour to come to our table. I had ordered a burger, which was overcooked, dry and tasted like sawdust. The fish in the Fish n Chips dish we ordered was so small and overly fried. My childs chicken tenders were extremely salty. She wouldnt eat it and I didnt realize until the very end of the lunch why she wouldnt eat it. It was so salty, I couldnt even handle it. We ordered soft drinks which didnt come to our table until we finished eating our food even with reminding the waitress. The restaurant is so beautiful. I wish the food matched in quality but unfortunately it didnt.

It s always a special time when we visit and last night was no exception! We were greeted by those behind the bar as we passed by and it was just such a nice and welcoming touch. We started with their early bird menu which is one of the best in the area. Wild mushroom ravioli, the duck dish, the salmon dish and tenderloin were our mains. All fantastic! The highlight was our server Megan. Thanks again for a wonderful experience. Our server was extremely pleasant and was above and beyond. They offer a lot for dietary restrictions. Food is priced fairly and the food beats other restaurants with similar pricing by a good margin. Definitely recommend. Has an upperclass vibe, really nice place. Its in the Delta hotel. Register ur plate for parking as soon as you walk in to avoid paying. Super simple

I had my birthday gathering at Proof Lounge last night and was quite disappointed with the service. Initially, my dinner was scheduled for 7 PM, but I changed it to 6:30 PM well in advance. When I sent in my contract, I clearly stated 6:30 PM, which was confirmed. However, upon arrival, my guests were informed by a rather unfriendly hostess that the dinner wouldnt start until 7 PM. It was clear she did not want to be there. Additionally, the food did not meet expectations the steak was particularly tough. While the atmosphere at Proof Lounge is pleasant, I wont be hosting any future events there.

Parking can be a bit tough to find though as it s very limited for restaurant parking due to the remaining of the parking lot belongs to the delta hotel that proof kitchen sits right under. Had to park across the street and walk.

Very noisy and while I know it s busy some sound barriers need to be added to dampen the sound.

Easy 5 stars. Honestly the service alone is worthy of the 5 star review but there is also an excellent food/drink menu. I tried the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Greek Lamb Tacos during my stay at the Delta and both were delicious. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and accommodating. Special shout out to Kyle, Kris and Laura for keeping me entertained during the evenings of my business trip. Great people, made travelling alone a lot more enjoyable. Cheers!

This was my second time at proof, each time I came with family and all of our dishes were a hit! This time I got the korean chicken sandwich and my parents got fish and chips and the mac and cheese and all three dishes were amazing. We started with the caesar salad and I promise it is worth it! Parking: Not sure if it was a busy Night busy Proof didn t look too packed but there was only 1 free parking spot left when we arrived so my parents had to park separately on the road

Great place for a quick meal and a few drinks. Prices are OK. I had wings with sauce on the side. Great. Very quick to serve and staff are pleasant. Parking: If you stay at the hotel, no parking fees. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps. All on one level.

This place has some pretty unique menu items compared to other restaurants in the area and very nice staff! The place is clean and theres also a variety of drink options.

i enjoyed my experience here although it was nothing spectacular. the food was decent - some good dishes, but nothing really stood out. i guess maybe thats what hotel restaurants are about; not really there to wow you, but just satisfy majority of peoples needs. The decor and atmosphere however were fantastic - really nice inside with an awesome vibe and top notch service. location is OK - with not much else around, but decent amount of parking nearby. Prices were a touch on the high side but not unreasonable. Im all about the food, so with that part being nothing special the value wasnt quite there for me - as a result, I will not return.

Went here for a fathers day brunch today. We arrived at 11 am and here were my experience. cleanliness: 2 stars Hostess/organization: 2 stars Service: 4 stars Food: 4.5 stars 1. We waited 8 minutes at the entrance for a hostess to come to us. The restaurant was about 95% empty at that point. Once two hostesses came it took two of them about another 8 minutes to figure where we should be seated even though we made a reservation. So by the time we were told to go in, there were a line up of 10+ people behind us at the entrance. 2. When we were shown to our table we noticed that on the floor near the bottoms of most tables there were quite a bit of food scraps and pieces all over. Floors looked dirty and gross. Odd thing was that the tables were clearly set up, so the employees just never bothered with the dirty floor and the food pieces all over it. Not sure if this is due to subpar training, employee work ethics, poor management, or a mixture of all. 3. Once we were seated the server brought over a high chair. When I was just about to put my kid into it, I noticed two massive pieces of watermelon on the seat and chocolate cake reminence on the side rail. Again, gross. For a restaurant that is supposed to be nice I was a bit surprised. 4. Luckily, the food was actually good. We ordered the burger, Benedict and fish and chips. Even though I appreciate the gluten free option, I probably wouldnt order the fish and chips again. I was impressed with the number of gluten free options and the food tasted great. Food was unbelievable, provably the best meal I ve had in a very long time. Unfortunately, we felt we were not given enough information on the pricing of the meal. We went for the Monday night Ribeye special for 2 people. At the time we ordered, we were told there was some steaks left over from Father s Day. $55 for 2 ribeye dinner. Asked how much more was the Father s Day special and told it was $79. Stupidly, we assumed for 2 people. Nope it was for each. We should have clarified, and not assumed since it was a literal comparison when we asked how much more. Lesson learned after a bill over $200 surprised us. Still, an incredible meal.

Our food was tasty and good value as well. Our server was attentive without being involved too much. It was a bit noisy but we were able to talk around the table. Enjoyed our visit.

Was there with a large group last Thursday, Mary was our waitress. She was professional, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I was impressed with her knowledge of the wine menu and liked her suggestions for wine pairings. The food was fantastic. The restaurant is beautiful with ample parking too. I highly recommend Proof. Lunch out with the ladies. Nice selection for lunch and bevvies. Janine did a lovely job serving us and didnt seem to mind our request for separate bills. Cool decor and ambience in the dining room. We had a truly wonderful experience at Proof tonight. The table that was reserved for us didnt work for our family gathering, so the staff went out of their way to find us a more suitable spot. We ended up in a private space, which was wonderful. The food was fantastic, the server was wonderful, and especially the pacing of the meal meant we could have a good long visit with a family member from out of town. Highly recommend.

I went for Mothers Day breakfast with my son. I had Eggs Benedict. The back bacon was too thickly sliced and cold, on a cold bun, with deep fried fingerling potatoes that were tasteless and greasy. Grossly over priced and not worthy of a place that considers themselves fine dining. My sons plate had a hair on it but they brought him another entre quickly.

This was our second year doing Mother s Day brunch- last year was so much better- bigger menu with lots of options. We made a reservation for 10am and were told we could only have a high top bar table because the restaurant was full. There was literally no one else in our area the entire time we were there. I maybe saw 3 other people in the entire restaurant.

Great service, food and ambience. Ordered the chickpeas curry with rice and cauliflower which was delicious. Asked for a Negroni which wasnt on the menu but it was made to perfection. Always happy to come here!

My husband and I stopped into Proof for fish and chips last night and were told they had run-out around 6:30pm. Please tell me what restaurant that usually sells fish and chips runs out on Good Friday!! This is not the first time weve have been disappointed in the last 6 months with the quality and quantity of food available from this higher priced restaurant. We will not be returning until management can figure out how to bring this restaurant back to where it was a year ago.

Kyle (our waiter) was awesome!! (5 stars for service and great and honest recommendations!) Fish and chips... the fish is great, the malt seasoned chips are ok (only because I prefer to add my own malt vinegar) The restaurant food was good all around for our group...we went again! The ravioli was apparently also delicious. The burger is worth it...even the kids Mac and cheese was good for kids (as were the chicken fingers - who knew chickens had fingers!).

Had dinner here for the first time last night (Saturday). It was super busy (even a wedding reception going on), but I was still impressed. Our waiter was awesome, along with the ambiance and the food. We had the Nosh (which was pretty good, relatively mild flavours, but good), the Onion Bhaji s (EXCELLENT) and the Lamb Tacos (EXCELLENT). My tastebuds were singing with the Bhaji s and the Lamb tacos. Seriously, so delicious. Every bite was an amazing explosion of flavour. We came from out of town for a special occasion, but would definitely go back when in KW. Also, nice that parking is free for restaurant customers.

My father and I made an appointment to speak to a manager regarding a private dining room rental. We were told we could come in on Monday, April 15th at 6pm to meet with a manager, view the room and discuss event details. We met with the onsite manager at the time, discussed dates and details and left with him promising he would book the room for us on the requested date and time, and have the event coordinator email us menus and further details. I waited until the Friday after, April 19, before sending in a private dining inquiry explaining what has happened and that was waiting for the event coordinator to contact us and send menus. We also had already confirmed the date with immediate family and specific guests. A week to the day after meeting onsite, I received a response to my email inquiry, separate from our onsite meeting. Hayley, the event coordinator advised us the room was already booked and that we should look at the semi private area or choose another date. I called the restaurant, hoping she was confused and the booking she was looking at was ours, only to be told it was a wedding that was booked months ago. When I expressed my confusion and disappointment, the gentleman on the phone said the private event booking system and regular dining system are separate and the manager on duty would not have been able to see that. There was no apology until I further escalated my disappointment and suggested (as someone who has worked as management in hospitality and completed a degree on the subject) that their lack of communication (verbally or systematically) is very disheartening and lacks to provide trust in their establishment. Please be cautious when booking a private event, and make sure who you are speaking too is capable of completing your requests.

Had no idea what he was talking about as when I ordered I said charge it to my room he then asked I assume you are not leaving a tip? Horrible customer service!

The birthday person chose this spot for brunch - we were not staying at the hotel and specifically drove out of our way to try this restaurant. Our party of four all ordered a la carte, not one of us choose the buffet. We all got different items and it was mixed of good and poor food. But what really spoiled the experience was the service. It was awful. Not ONCE were we checked on and we had to wave down the server twice to request jam and hot sauce. The servers were running around like chickens with their heads cut off which is odd considering the nearly empty restaurant and most patrons choosing to self serve from the buffet. Very disappointing.

We recently hosted a group gathering (20) in the hospitality room. An advanced menu was preset with a couple entre selections. The service was good, however 80% of the meals were delivered cold. Fortunately mine was one of hot meals and was unaware of the cold ones until later. The server was advised by a guest, but due to the number of meals needing replacement it was decided not to cause the embarrassment. Upon completing a survey the day later I contacted the restaurant manager. He said there wasnt much he could do at that point in time. If we had been more forth come at the time the meals would have been replace. We paid $2,800 including a mandatory 20% tip, plus, plus. I would have thought the manager would have been able to offer something better than apologies. Well probably not revisit Proof again along with 20 of our guests once they hear thee managers response.

Had lunch at Proof today! Nice trendy interior and decent food. Service needs improvement. My wife asked for no onions in her salad and the salad definitely came with onions. Coffees were brought with no sugar. When asked for sugar, no tea spoons or any stirring utensils were brought until asked. Most interesting was that when paying I was provided with an Interac machine that already had 20% tip selected. I wondered about that and confirmed that I didn t miss the tip option. The response was that it was already selected for me (at 20 points). We were a group of 4 (2 adults to kids) so not sure how I feel about this tip preselection practice.

We had our Family Dinner at Proofs and it was a disaster , the waiter was superb dug the food was uneatable far far too spice every thing was dripping in Hot sauce , would Never go There ever again !!?!??

Went for brunch yesterday. Food was okay, wasn t great. Maybe just what we had. Unfortunately, the service was bad. Things were taking long to get or not offered. No food checks or check ins to make sure everything was going well, no refills, none of our plates cleared. At the end we had everything in take out boxes and my friend was standing, holding her baby, ready to go and the server past our table and said are you waiting for something yes the bill. For the price you pay, service and food should be great. We had mentioned it to the manager as we were leaving but he didn t seem to care much. Unsure if we went on a bad day or what but probably would not go back.

Gorgeous restaurant which was perfect for a get together with a friend. The seating is intimate and comfortable. The food was also delicious, and they were very accommodating for dietary restrictions (dairy-free). The Bao bun is typically made with dairy, however they let me know that they could easily make a bun dairy-free with a few days notice when we booked a reservation. It was delicious! Will definitely return!

Food was horrible the lamb shank had very bad smell coming from it, cesar salad was so salty, when I made reservation the manager said there capacitie was 150 but there already full but when I got there so many seats where available ordered a virgin cocktail for my son, thank God my wife tasted it before my son could drink it, and it had alcohol. The manage was notified by the server the food came out bad all the manager said was too bad you guys didnt like the lamb and walked away. AVOID THIS PLACE . I WILL RATHER HAVE MACDONALD. HORRIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE!!! I love how you reply to the review but cannot reply to my email or calls.

Went here for Christmas Day and ordered the Christmas turkey dinner. The turkey was so dry and hard we sent it back. The server offered us a piece of chicken in its place which came out after the rest of the meal was eaten. Disappointing experience, mediocre to poor food. Update - managed reached out on OpenTable on 12/29 asking for feedback on what could have been done better, which I provided. He never replied again.

I ordered my steak rare and it was medium. And it took a long time to get.it.so I didnt send it back. The mushroom soup was delicious, though.

Why go anywhere else ? You have everything you need here. Great beverages and options. The food menu couldnt be more varietal, delicious and adventurous. The chef has curated a simple masterpieces, thats well executed. The vibe, is swell. Lounge is well behaved, yet tvs are available. The dining area is private and pretty. Would go again. Dont hesitate to stop by and eat. Vegetarian options: Quality options that dont disappoint.

I returned to Proof recently and had an excellent experience! Terrific food, attentive service and a very happy atmosphere as there was a wedding reception in their private dining area. I appreciated the invitation to give them another try and they lived up to their reputation. Well done!
