We are a family-run business in Waterloo, ON. Our specialty is East European cuisine - handmade pierogies, pelmeni (meat dumplings), meat crepes and a selection of delicious daily soups.
Absolutely love this cafe! The authentic, handmade soups and pierogi are especially delicious. The borsch tastes just like my grandmother used to make ❤️! You can even grab some of the soups frozen to enjoy at home. Can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu! Highly recommend!
I absolutely love Teremok Cafe! Been coming here since 2013 and always leave happy and full! The owners are wonderful and very kind and the food is amazing! I recommend the pelmeni for a real flavour explosion!
Teremok cafe offers an amazing dining experience with delicious, homemade food that truly feels like it’s made with love. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and Galina is incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. Each dish is bursting with fresh, authentic flavors, perfectly seasoned, and served in generous portions. I highly recommend trying their pelmeni (dumplings), which was an absolute highlight. If you're looking for a place with great homemade meals and top-notch service, this is the perfect spot!
This cozy little cafe offers a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food that feels just like home. The pelmeni and borscht were absolutely amazing, with rich, authentic flavors that bring real comfort. A perfect spot for anyone craving a homemade meal in a warm and friendly setting.
Cosy. Very tasty dumplings. Thin dough, tender meat filling, perfect broth, served with sour cream.
I love the cozy atmosphere and tasty food at Teremok that make you feel you were transported to Ukraine. Galina (the owner) is very friendly and great to chat with. I and my friends got borsch and pierogi - I think it’s a great start choice for those unfamiliar with Ukranian cuisine. I also used to get her frozen dumplings (pelmeni) and boil them at home - they are very tasty and fairly priced!
Went for a breakfast date with my wife and chose Teremok Cafe. Galina is a super host - a very soft spoken person. Loved the ambience of this place...was quite cozy. Ordered Borsch (soup), Perogi and crepe. Borsch was a standout (its made by Galina / family everyday). Have tried Perogi at multiple places, but it was best here (again made by Galina & family). Thank you Galina for hosting us. Definitely recommend to others.
If you're looking for authentic slavic food, you've come to the right place. Galina's food is the most comforting, delicious food I've ever had. She had everything you need - breakfast, lunch and dinner. She makes them all in house, and even makes frozen portions if needed for large bulk orders. The service is fast, and friendly. I would eat here everyday if I could.
My husband is a first generation Canadian. His father immigrated from Ukraine in WWII. I decided to take him to this cafe for our wedding anniversary to celebrate his heritage. The food was so wonderful that he actually cried. He was instantly transported back to his childhood. Every bit of the experience was absolutely lovely. Thank you for making our day that much more special.
Excellent food! You can tell everything is homemade and fresh! The owner of the restuarant was incredibly kind, she even took a photo of my girlfriend and I! 10/10 would come back
Real Ukrainian food made well by Ukrainians. You like this food, you will love this place
Cozy cafe with delicious food. However I do think $21.50 for a very light lunch (vegetarian Borsch and 6 pierogies) is very pricey, especially cuz we were hungry again within an hour. Would definitely return but not on the regular for sure.
I fell in love with Teremok, Galina and the food there. I had a borshch, onion and potato varenyky, my Moms classical treats for me. Teremok is my Ukrainian food spot now. I keep bringing Canadian friends of mine too. I feel super proud to introduce them to our culture.
Delicious food! Loved the crepes and borsh and the cozy atmosphere
What a hidden gem. The best borscht Ive ever had!
Borsch and pelmeni combo is the best
Teremok is hands-down one of the best dining experiences I ve ever had! I tried their borsch and pelmeni, and let me tell you, it was like being transported straight back home. The borsch tasted exactly like my mom s rich, hearty, and so perfectly homemade. The pelmeni were equally incredible so fresh, tender, and packed with flavor that every bite felt like a warm hug. What truly made the experience even more special was the owner. She s the sweetest, most welcoming person you could ever meet, treating everyone like family. It felt less like a restaurant and more like sitting down for a homemade meal crafted with so much love and care. If you re craving food that s cooked to perfection and served with a side of heartfelt hospitality, Teremok is an absolute must-visit. I can t wait to go back!
Perogies are delicious. Love the mushroom and rice soup too.
Love this place. Their perogies taste the same as the ones my great aunt would make when I was growing up
Wonderful atmosphere and food. The borscht was delicious, and service was great. Galina is an amazing person. Vegetarian options: Pierogie and sandwich options avaliable vegetarian. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options avaliable and delicious.
Family business for 25 years. Hurry, they are retiring January 2025! Food : 5/5
Galina, the owner was very welcoming, hospitable and friendly. The pierogies and Borsch soup were wonderful. The Apple strudel was the best I ve ever had! Don t wait long to come try the wonderful food because they retiring in six months after 25 years! Vegetarian options: Borsch soup, sauerkraut perogies.
Wonderful establishment! Homemade dumplings are the best Ive ever tried. Everything can be taken away, which is very convenient. The owner Galina is a very pleasant person and also a good conversationalist. I advise all Russian speakers to visit this place. And if you are looking for something new, then this will be the best place to try Slavic cuisine!

Fantastic Frozen Pierogi!
I was here recently with my wife and a couple of friends from Venezuela. My friends live in Toronto and came to visit Kitchener/Waterloo. They were interested in Russian cuisine, so I took them to Teremok Cafe. I had never been here before, but many friends highly recommended this place. The delicious cuisine and hospitality of the owners made our visit unforgettable. Galina helped us choose delicious dishes and served them in the right order for each guest. The level of service no longer resembled some ordinary cafe where you came to eat for money, but more like we came to visit our friends, who were very happy to see us. My friends told me how impressed they were with our experience for days. Unfortunately, we arrived less than an hour before closing on Saturday and were worried that we wouldn t have time to eat or delay the owners. But this was not a problem at all, Galina said that we could be there after closing. This left an unforgettable positive imprint in the memory of all guests and enveloped us in warmth and comfort. We will return to eat delicious crepes, various soups and the best dumplings in the region!
Absolutely great experience. provided the best Borsch and food! Lovely ambience. Ill definitely come back with friends.
Great food, great host and very family friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend coming over for lunch! Xo Valya Food
We popped in for lunch at Teremok Cafe, and I must say, the atmosphere and vibe were truly remarkable! Its a cozy spot with about 6 tables, but the homemade food was outstandingly delicious. The borscht soup was hearty and the standout dish was definitely the pelmeni (meat dumplings). Its not easy to find good pelmeni in the KW region, but Galinas traditional pelmeni are the best Ive had in Waterloo juicy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The variety of flavors available will satisfy any palate. Its not only delicious but also great value for money I couldnt get enough of it! I highly recommend giving them a try. Additionally, the BLT sandwich with Havarti was fantastic, with generous amounts of cheese, crispy bacon slices, and a fresh tomato. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the overall atmosphere, including the music, conversation, and decor, was incredibly comfortable. I wholeheartedly endorse this place!
Wonderful cafe! Pleasant and cozy atmosphere!, everything was very tasty! I will definitely come here again!
Best cafe I ve ever been to. Galina is the nicest person. Take your whole family here, they will love it. The atmosphere is so nostalgic for Eastern European.
The best cafe in Town. Super clean place. Delissosse Ukrainian food. Parking: Uptown Waterloo Recommended dishes Vareniki, Potato and Onion Pierogi, Soup Parking space

Tasty food that reminds me of home. Excellent service and cute atmosphere.
Great food and vibe! Had some super tasty borsch, pelmeni and vareniki. The russian lady serving us was very nice and friendly! I ll be coming back again to try the rest of their menu!
Great place to enjoy some traditional Ukrainian cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. Everything is delicious and fresh.
The food was really tasty! Loved the borsch and vareniki with cherry, and the lady taking the orders was really lovely. Liked the cosy atmosphere as well!
The pierogis and Borsch are excellent and you can tell they are freshly hand made that day. Friendly service and feels like home warm atmosphere.

Visited this place first time, pelmeni were great! Definitely will come back to try pirohi and borscht!
The food here is excellent and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting. Had the pelmeni and borsch, both were super delicious and comforting. Galina is very kind and the service was amazing! Highly recommend!
Very friendly owner. Fresh perogies!
Great borsch and some of the best handmade pierogi in the region IMO. Bit pricey though, $20 for 6 plain cheese pierogi and a bowl of borsch.
Delicious food ! Exceptional host ! Very intimate atmosphere that remind to me of my family in Russia! Lovely place! Food : 5/5 |
this is the go-to place for anyone looking to have the coziest home-cooked experience. The borsch was so filling and the pilmeni were perfectly cooked. 10/10 WILL visit again soon
This is one of my favourite places to eat in the world. Used to come here all the time when I was in Uni. Best perogies! A truly authentic place.
Thats an amazing place. You definitely should go there if you want to have good food and good service. Food
A neat and tidy restaurant with a lot of attention given to details. The borsch was amazing and the coffee tasted great. We will be back!
Very tasty, like at home. Almost the only restaurant of Eastern European cuisine in the neighborhood. I recommend
We both had blt sandwiches served on brown bread. This was a perfect portion size for us (not too big). The lady who runs this restaurant is very polite and attentive As usual, the food was very well prepared.
Good place to try homemade food with excellent service!
Its been really nice experience to feel ourselves home and taste Ukrainian hand-made food. Thank you so much, it was delicious.
Great service and delicious food
Very nice atmosphere for dine in, excellent soups, and crepes. I always get batches of frozen soups and crepes home. They have vegetarian options and taste homemade. It is also kids friendly so your whole family would enjoy the place and the food.
The best place to get pelmeni in the whole region! I m from Ukraine and pelmeni you get at this place are exactly like what I remember my mom making when I was a kid!
Excellent Ukrainian food. Our daughters love the pierogis, especially the ones with cherries. We love them too, and the borscht. A cozy place with a friendly and authentic atmosphere. Recommended.
I highly recommend this restaurant. Galina always has a friendly smile for everyone. The restaurant is pleasantly decorated and clean. There is easy access if you walk or available parking if you drive. The food is tasty and the service is excellent. You can do take away or eat inside. Thank you!
My favorite is the borsch with sour cream and dill. They also offer frozen soups and perogies that are very convenient as they reheat well. Thank you Galina!
Very tasty comfort homemade food, the borscht was some of the best i ve ever tasted, it was bursting with flavour, highly recommend! The perogies were very soft and pillowy. The environment is very cozy and warm. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the mood for some hearty comfort food.
I love Teramok Cafe. The service is excellent. The food is amazing, best borsch I ve EVER had. You will not be disappointed. Support this lovely local couple. Vegetarian options: Lots of options Parking: Plenty of parking. Wheelchair accessibility: It s accessible
Ive been here three times when my Russian/Ukrainian parents were in town to visit, its lovely and the food is very tasty.
Excellent place to visit, exquisite food, highly recommended. We dined in and then later decided to buy a take out, as merely describing visiting Teremok Cafe an authentic cuisine cafe experience wouldnt do it justice. Friendly home atmosphere, well thought-through choice of menu items, outstanding service; if there would be more than five star ratings, Teremok Cafe visit would get seven stars out of seven :-]
We love the homemade tasty food and the service. They make you feel at home. Highly recommend.
Lovely people and super tasty authentic food. In addition to the menu at the restaurant itself they do frozen takeout, which is my go to. I get frozen pelmeni, which everyone at home loves!
A delightful place - my friend and I dropped in to grab some pelmeni and pierogi and they were great. We werent waiting long, the environment was nice, they were generous with the sour cream, and theres plenty more there Id like to go back and try! :)
The best cherry perogies and dumplings!
One of my absolute favorite lunch spots! The borsch is the best in town!
Always great food, friendly service.
Excellent borsch! I really liked it
I recently visited this café for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious Ukrainian cuisine. The menu had a good variety of dishes, and I particularly enjoyed the savory pierogies and borsch. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. A must-visit for food lovers!
Great food and excellent service <3
Delicious food and great environment!
Teremok Cafe, what a treat! If this winter leaves you wanting for a place to brighten the dull days of winter go to 55 Erb Street East, Waterloo. You wont be disappointed. We highly recommend its delicious soup, apple strudel, and great hospitality.
There borscht and perogies are absolutely delicious! Parking: excellent parking.
A perfect café for a quiet chat, time to relax. Galina hand makes the best Russian and Ukrainian food. Simply delicious! No wonder she has been in business here for more than two decades! Always a delight!
Excellent environment and wonderful experience with staff. Highly recommend Wheelchair accessibility: No step off the sidewalk Food : 5/5 |
Homemade food and made with love. What more can ask for?
One of the best places I ve been in a while. Stumbled upon this cozy restaurant and what a pleasant surprise! Amazing service and very welcoming staff, food tasted absolutely delicious, ambiance was very nice. Very enjoyable experience.

Love this place. Wonderful food and hospitable staff. Frozen pierogies of very high quality easy to prepare at home.
I really like dumplings with cottage cheese. I can eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thank you for the atmosphere and service!!!
Thank you to Teremok Cafe for preparing a special birthday dinner for our daughter. When, at the last minute, we discovered that we could not be together for her birthday, we called Teremok from Ottawa to order a take-out perogy dinner. The order was picked up by her grandparents, who were delighted to report that the package had been neatly tied up with pink ribbon! Such a lovely touch! Thank you -- for the wonderful meal and for taking the care to make it special.
Amazing food
Best Borsch and Perogies in town. It s one of our favorite places to have lunch.
Tasty homemade food! You can dine in, take out frozen dumplings, perogies and soup or take them cooked and ready to be eaten. I like getting frozen cherry and potatoes perogies (10$ a portion) and crepes with meat.
Excellent borsch and pirogi. We will be back to try the famous pelmeni.
Amazing food, brings me back home to Ukraine. Its homemade, the quality is amazing, its authentic. We ordered borsch and pelmeni(beef and pork dumplings), it was served quickly by the owner, who was very friendly and welcoming. If you come from Eastern Europe or just simply would like to try authentic eastern european food, I would greatly recommend this place.
Vegetarian options: The cherry pierogi were fantastic, homemade and fresh. Excited to come back and try the potato onion! Run by a lovely lady with a very warm smile - very inviting place to sit down for a meal.
Thanks a lot! Very tasty!
Wow! As someone who grew up in Russia I can say that this is the most authentic and delicious Russian/Ukranian cuisine Ive ever had in Canada. Everything is home made and made with such love. Galina is absolutely amazing and this restaurant is spectacular. Thank You.

We enjoyed our experience at the Teremok cafe, very authentic Russian food, and a nice cosy environment to top it off
I came to this cafe to have authentic eastern European cuisine and was very pleased. The borscht was amazing and so were the crepes. I recommend this place and will be coming back!
We visited Teremok Cafe for lunch and got amazing authentic and yummy food! We each ordered Borstch which was delicious. We also got an order of Pelmeni and potato and cheddar perogies. Both were amazing! They also have frozen authentic soups to take home and we got the mushroom and rice, cabbage roll soup and rassolnik. Will be going back again! The owners were so welcoming and friendly.
Authentic food!
Great tasty and authentic food. Borscht is the best I ever tried (and I tried a lot of different recipes)! Other things I tried were crepes with meat and pelmeni and I can highly recommend those too. Great for both dining in and takeout - frozen borscht and crepes are very handy.
Very tasty Russian food! Meat dumplings were a hit!
Excellent!!
I really recommend food in this place. The food is fresh and really tasty. They only take cash or debit!
Such a cozy and welcoming place to stop in for lunch (or any other time)! The food is top quality and always absolutely delicious, can highly recommend the borsch and pelmeni combo.
Very tasty food, especially borsch. My family and I loved it. I will definitely be back for more :)) Simply amazing.
I ve been a repeat customer for about 20 years now and their borscht soup is just as good as the first time I tried it! When I m in the mood for comfort food I order a soup and sandwich from here! It feeds the soul and I m never disappointed. I hope they are open for another 20 years!
Amazing Ukrainian food, and top notch service. Galina is a sweetheart (:
Very tasty ukranian food in KW, pelmeni are to die for!
I was there yesterday and got potato and cheddar perogies and an apple strudel for a treat. Super tastey all around and fantastic service. I was surprised by how tastey the strudel was in particular
Cozy, pleasant atmosphere. Delicious authentic food.
Soup and food is great!!!
Beautiful little cafe, the food is amazing. Nothing better than a homemade lunch . Definitely recommend you stop by for a visit
Feels like a home :) wonderful service, owner and food. Highly recommend.
I am from Toronto and tried many European restaurants there, by far this place beats them all. Highly recommend Teremok to everyone in KW region. Thanks Galina for your food and hospitality.
My friend recommended this restaurant to me today, and I am so delighted that I had the time to stop and try their delicious pelmeni and apple strudel. These dishes are by far one of the best. Will be back soon to try their famous borsch.
Great handmade, traditional Ukrainian / Russian food. Galina is super kind and nice to talk to. Good, relaxing environment too. Hidden gem in Waterloo.
Extremely delicious cuisine, especially solyanka soup!
Enjoyed a wonderful meal at Teremok Cafe! Definitely worth a visit!
Food was delicious! We ordered solyanka, pelmeni, and meet crape. I can t believe how fresh and tasty the food was! Definitely coming back
Delicious homemade traditional Russian cuisine and super friendly owner Galina, highly recommended
The service is very friendly and the food is great. Really cozy atmosphere
The food was the best of quality. The atmosphere was one that reminded me of home and always the service was top notch. Nothing but the best from this resteraunt
Great place, amazing host! They were super welcoming, let us dine even 10 minutes before the closing time and let us take our time to finish the delicious meal.
At the last day of my vacation in Waterloo, my friend recommended me this cafe and I tried the signature Borsch soup. It tasted really good and flavourful which quite surprised me. The owner is also kind and friendly, she shared her family videos with me. I will certainly come back to try other food when I visit Waterloo next time. Thanks for the service.
Such a lovely shop and amazing food. We bought soups home for our daughter and she inhales them. She loves their food so much! All homemade and made with love clearly. Highly recommend.
Wonderful establishment The atmosphere is delightful, and the food is a delight Thank you people for such a wonderful job We recommend it to everyone
Had a really nice lunch! Delicious, tastes like my moms dishes that I had in childhood and really enjoyed it
Nice place for lunch in Waterloo. Very friendly owner, comfortable atmosphere and delicious food :)
A gem of a cafe. Delicious, authentic food. Love the borscht and pelmeni. Tastes like home.
Amazing homemade food, great service, and good prices!
Stopped on our way to Niagara Falls. We all enjoyed our dinner, kid and adults. We liked soup with meatballs, delicious perogies, pelmeni, and tasty home made kompot.
I was buying frozen soups from this place and they were excellent. Solyanka, Rassolnik and Yellow Pea soups were my favs.
Highly recommend the borscht. Cherry pierogies are also a favourite. I buy in bulk, frozen, and take them home with me, but I have eaten in before and its just as tasty. Cafe itself is a little quiet and a tad run down which doesnt make it feel very cozy for staying and enjoying a meal, but the lady who owns it is lovely. Vegetarian options: Some options, but most have meat or are cooked in animal fats/broths Kid-friendliness: No kids menu, but the food is great. Wheelchair accessibility: There is one step to get into the cafe and the tables are too close together for most wheelchairs to comfortably navigate. Bathrooms are not disability friendly.
What a lovely restaurant with tasty authentic Ukrainian/Russian cuisine! We had a wonderful lunch complete with fresh kompot and blini. The atmosphere is relaxing and Galina is an excellent hostess. We will be back again!
This place is wonderful! The food is homemade and so delicious. It s my go to for soups and pirogies. The Borscht is perfect! Thank you!
Food is very tasty and authentic Russian style. Definitely worth trying.
Really lovely ma & pa Cafe with Delicious, authentic food made from scratch.
Very authentic food and nice vibe! Highly recommend
Everything here is very tasty, just like my mom s . You can buy frozen dumplings. Super tasty. My husband loves them! We also tried borscht here, without meat. Very tasty for people like me who don t eat meat. A little vegetable oil is added here, but this is necessary to give the richness of the taste. To keep the borscht vegan, the cook uses oil that does not contain animal products or ingredients. Oil is useful for helping the body absorb certain types of fat-soluble vitamins, such as vitamins A, D, E and K. These vitamins are better absorbed in the presence of fat. Therefore my mom always cooks borscht this way too
Took pelmeni combo with Borsch and appreciated everything! Had the original taste I m expecting from it, thank you!!
The borscht was really good, and there are way more perogi flavours than I thought possible. Wonderful place.
This was my first time trying borscht and traditional pierogies! And it was amazing!! Definitely coming back. The space has a lovely cosy-warm vibe and the food is amazing. :) Vegetarian options: Hearty meals and homely vibes. What more can one ask for :)
Amazing cafe, authentic Eastern European cuisine in KW! Prices are good and the food is delicious, home-made style. Owner is very friendly. They also have home-made frozen soups and perogies for sale.
I love this palce! Food is made with live and care. We are big fans of ordering frozen pelmeni for this returant. Recommend 11000% Parking: Lots of parking available
Delicious food, and great owner!
I just moved to the area and was missing my favourites from the European store from my old town. I had the meat crepes and borsch, different than my old hometown but absolutely amazing!!! (Shhh was actually better but I don t want to hurt any feelings!) I also had the Apple streusel, perfect!!! Not too sweet and so flakey!!! Can t wait to try everything else on the menu!! Oh and staff member that assisted me was so kind and helpful!
The food itself was amazing, and the service even more so! It feels as though they really enjoy connecting with their customers and a nice chat always seems welcome. After discussing some of my interests, the lady to whom I was speaking even offered to connect me to another customer with similar passions.
very tasty pancakes ^_^
Love love love Cafe Teremok. Been eating here for years. The pierogis and borscht are to die for!!! Going to pick up some pierogis right now teeheehee
Excellent place to have a lunch with a classic Ukrainian atmosphere. My favorite place around the area and definitely a must try. You can t find better pelmenis in Canada!
Group of guys that meet here a couple of times a week to tell stories and have a coffee. Galina is great. Food is awesome
Great soups & perogies! I love getting the frozen soups to fill the freezer in the winter.
Homemade - everything! Great taste - everything! Here you will experience warm atmosphere and enjoy amazing soups, perogies and pelmeni. And most importantly you can have frozen homemade meals to take HOME!
My family and I have been visiting this hidden gem for many years. My all time favourite is Galina s BLT. I can t seem to make it like she does when I am at home. My adult children are obsessed with her home-made perogies and palmeni. Another family favourite is her apple strudel. The food here is always fresh and homemade. Service is quick and the prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend Teramok Cafe!! Parking: Ample parking have never not been able to find a spot.
Recently visited this place and it was great! They make fresh coffee for every customer!
Delicious homemade food, helpful staff. I recommend it.
Amazing food. Try the borscht, you wont regret it!
Great place to eat with the food that tastes like home.
The food is incredible. Little hidden gem in Waterloo. Highly recommend the borscht!
Their frozen pelmeni is one of the few non-sweet things my picky toddler eats, so I m feeling grateful that this place exists at least two times a week! Thank you
Best borsch and perogies in town. We order from here often.
Great place! Very friendly, nice atmosphere, and AMAZING food! I would definitely recommend it.
Love this little cafe! Really nicely decorated and has amazing food. Ordered the borsch and pelmeni and tastes exactly like my moms (maybe even better). Highly recommended.
I love this cafe. Very good quality Eastern European (Ukrainian and Russian) food. We love Galinas borsch and meat crepes. The owner (Galina) is very friendly and accommodating. I have friends from Toronto who always want to visit Teremok when they come see me in KW. Highly recommend this place.
I first started coming to Teremok for their traditional soups, which are excellent. Then I discovered their crepes with sweet cottage cheese and crepes with meat. The sweet crepes remind me of the ones my grandmother used make in a firewood oven back home. It gives me a taste of childhood. Now my kids tried them and ask for these crepes all the time. I love that you can dine in or buy your foveorite soups/crepes frozen and enjoy at home. The owner is always friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for delicious home cooked meals.
I have been coming to Teremok for at least 15 years. Galina and her family are welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. Their food is made from scratch and with love. I usually go for borsch or solyanka and sometimes add pelmeni on the side but you can not go wrong with anything on the menu. Vegetarian options: I believe their borsch and pierogies are vegetarian, and you cant go wrong with them. :-)
Love this place!!
Love the food at this small, family-owned business. We ve been coming occasionally for years and then weekly through the pandemic, and still. We love their generously-sized sandwiches, particularly the turkey and bacon (thick, crispy bacon) and egg salad. We also often buy their frozen meat crepes to take home - a quick heatup in the microwave and it s a good, yummy lunch. I am fond of their borsch - it s excellent! Highly Recommended.
Was here for take out couple times. Friendly host. Pelmeni, perogies and soups are like at home. Definitely recommend this place
Absolutely phenomenal food and service. A group of us came in last minute and we were fully accommodated and it was absolutely delicious! Everything is home made. Honestly, it s like being home with my family. Yum!
This is amazing food! Loved the borsch!
Best Perogies ever .
My favorite place to get soup and food feels like home
Wonderful cafe with a warm atmosphere and great food! The solyanka is delicious and the pelmeni very authentic. Will definitely go back soon!
Discovered this place a few years ago, and come every few weeks for lunch. Love the potato and sauerkraut perogies, and always get the borsch soup
We ve been coming to Teremok for years, and it never disappoints with its homemade authentic Eastern European food. There is nothing like having Borsh on a cold winter day! The soups are amazing, and you could get them frozen to go. Everything is made fresh and with love! Wonderful owners that take great care of their customers.
Teremok recently celebrated their 20th anniversary. Many restaurants close after 2 years, nevemind 20! I can t say enough good things about this place! I was there again recently and always look forward to it. My friend lives in Waterloo and it s our annual tradition to eat at Teremok for lunch when I come to town - I live an hr away. The owner is lovely and the food is ALWAYS so fresh and tasty. They have Canadian offerings but check out their Russian fare - you won t regret it. I usually get the meat crepes and the borscht soup - perfect for a November lunch. They have most of their foods to take home as well! The cafe is always extremely clean, quaint and welcoming. Nothing about it makes me think of its age IRL. Reasonable prices. Check it out! Free parking too.
Excellent food.
Excellent coffee and pastries with a lovely atmosphere.
This is the best Borsh and Pelmeni I have ever eated in restaurants! Im from Europe, and this is how real slavic borsch and pelmeni shall be made! Very clean place, kind Galina, and so much tasty!

Amazing place! Really cozy an welcome. I had borstch and pelmeni, it is delicious! Really recommend for comfort foot lunch or dinner.
Truly authentic Ukrainian cusine. The varenyky and borscht are just like my mom made growing up so filled with nostalgia with every visit. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options for varenyky, crepes, soups and sandwiches Parking: In the heart of Waterloo and very easy to find
This is a terrific family-owned business serving authentic Ukrainian food, the way my grandmother used to make it. :) The owner is friendly and welcoming. We order the pierogies (Varenyky) and soups from there regularly. You have to try this place!
Great food, great service, cozy environment, authentic Ukrainian food :) They have the best borscht, the best pelmeni and the best pierogies in Waterloo-Kitchener area! Everything on the menu is top notch!!! Teremok is one of my favorite places in KW. Visiting and eating there always feels like home :)

Apple strudel here are super duper! Must try!!!
Amazing homemade food and charming atmosphere I am going to the Teremok Cafe for more than 15 years, to take out and/or to have dinner after work, sometimes for Saturday brunch, and will keep going there forever. What a great little place. They have very cozy dining room, variety of tasty and healthy homemade food, friendly and professional service. Galina, who owns the Cafe with her husband, is really charming, agree with brianhV4132IH :) The food is superb - variety of delicious and healthy soups, perogies with various fillings (meat, potatoes and chedder or onions, sauerkraft, cottage cheese, cherries), shepherds pie, crepes with various fillings (meat, cottage cheese, apples), custard flaky pastry, coffee. The custard flaky pastry is the best Ive tried in North America :) Always fresh and flavorous. Ive ordered these little cakes few times for potlucks at work - everybody were amazed. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend.
The food and atmosphere at the Teremok Cafe is wonderful. Great Russian food. We love eating in the restaurant because Galina is so warm and attentive. Everything is homemade and yummy. We always bring home frozen meat crepes, pelmeni (Russian meat filled pasta), solyanka soup and borscht to have on hand for a quick and delicious meal.
I have bought pelmeni a few times from here and everytime it is delicious! Really recommend for comfort food, great lunch and dinner options, as well as their borsch is phenomenal.
Tasty delicious pelmeni
Borsch is delicious. The onion and potato pierogi are good too.
Friendly and prompt service! Absolutely delicious borscht and vareniki (perogies) the way my oma used to make them! One of a kind restaurant! So glad I found you!
Best perogies in town, fresh or frozen to take home for later! Dare I say better than my wifes grandmas homemade perogies and borscht?
If you want very healthy and deliciously tasting food, Teremok Cafe in Waterloo is the place to go. We are long time customers and are still loving it. Everything, including the ambiance, is the same as at grandmas house. Highly recommend!
Have been here several times and the food is consistently good. Will recommend to everyone!
When I cant have my moms perogies, Teremok is always my first choice for some homestyle Eastern European cooking. I highly recommend them.
Excellent food with attention to detail. Lovely staff. A hidden gem.
An amazing placed owned by a lovely family. Everything is homemade and yummy. I have been their customer since 2006 and always enjoyed their food. Pelmeni, borsch, sandwiches, chicken noodle soup, solyanka soup, perogies, shepherds pie-everything tastes great. I am a frequent visitor there, and I often pick up something at Teremok Cafe for my lunch or order home made frozen food to take home. Galina is always friendly and accommodating. Thank you very much, Teremok Cafe.
We love Teremok Cafe. They have amazing perogies and soup and everything tastes homemade and is delicious! Highly recommend.
As a regular customer of Teremok, I have consistently been impressed by the quality of the food. Although I have never eaten at the restaurant, I have always enjoyed the takeout dishes I have ordered, including borsch and crepes with meat and cottage cheese. I also usually purchase some frozen items to reheat at home, and they have always tasted just as good as when I ate them fresh from the restaurant. The borsch is hearty and flavorful, and the crepes are filled with generous portions of meat and cheese. The service is always friendly and efficient, and the prices are reasonable. Overall, I highly recommend Teremok for anyone looking for tasty Slavic cuisine.
Best borscht in town! I love the Pelmeni too, 10/10 recommended
