I have been looking for authentic Lao & Thai style papaya salad around Waterloo and here is the best! And the right way to make. As a Thai, I would recommend papaya salad and beef jerky and sticky these are the best combo.

We ordered takeout for 10 people. Various items and appetizers. Everything was hot and delicious!! Generous portions so we are having f for lunch today. Thank you Champa Kitchen for a wonderful birthday meal.

We got the Pho and the Tom yum soup. The pho was very Ok, there are so many other restaurants in the area serving much better pho. The Tom yum soup was the worst, no veggies, no noodle and extremely sour. Quite disappointing, especially for a place with such positive reviews. Not visiting again.

Decided to try this place for first time. We had pork fresh summer rolls and pho. I had the rare beef my wife had the seafood. Excellent tasting dishes. Customer service was excellent as well. Ty for making 1st experience enjoyable and informative.

I came here for dinner and had a lovely time. Appetizers and drinks were delicious, and had the best Singapore noodles / tofu. Our server Anson was extremely polite, helped us navigate the menu and recommended wonderful dishes for what we were craving. Will be back!

Tried 4 dishes so far everything was incredible, except the pad Thai which I thought was just okay.

From what I remember in my travels to Laos, this place does very authentic food, on par with what you d find in any big city let alone Laos itself. A real gem to find in KW!

Me and my boyfriend s favourite restaurant in Waterloo. We go at least once a month, and always bring friends who want great Thai in the area. The food is beyond excellent every time, and the service is fantastic (Tim is the best). Cozy atmosphere, great vibes. Vegetarian options: Red curry with tofu is incredible

The best duck Ive had in the KW region. Staff are friendly and service is quick. Love the Thai coffee as well. Will return and I highly recommend.

You know a place is great when you order three dishes and then cant decide which is the best. Just that good Get the Pad Thai, spicy chicken coconut soup and coconut fried rice salad with pork.

Spicy chicken yellow curry coconut soup, $18 and delicious

Server couldnt keep orders straight, then demanded we pay for items we never received. I dont know what table got the extra beer n spring rolls but we didnt. Then he asked us to leave. Never returning. Food was honestly bland. You can get a better meal n service for the money elsewhere.

Had there pho. Was a Lao take on Pho and tbh I did not like it. the portion was off and the flavor had a musty smell to it. the noodles were over cooked. They barely gave us any bean sprouts. I dont think pho is something you shouldnt change as its a masterpiece of a dish to begin with. Although I did get there green tea drink and that was very nice. And the patio and the back is really nice. but unfortunately all the tables were off balance. very awkward to eat. overall cool experience in the patio. but too pricey for my liking. I will try other dish in future but the pho is a no go here.

Came here because of high reviews but was disappointed. Should have read the details of reviews. Ordered tom yum, but its tasteless :( Chicken salad has a mushy smell, taste wasnt good too. Red curry taste was decent except its like dry stir fry not curry. Pad see ew was ok to me except chicken has a bad smell. Owner was polite and nice, didnt had a chance to provide feedback as I was busy with 2 cranky small kids.

The food and presentation wasn t bad, but it also wasn t great. Service was warm and friendly.

Late lunch...we had the noodles with beef in soya sauce , and pork chops and rice. Service was great, food was well done and portions substantial. Great find, highly recommended.

Some of the most delicious South East Asian food Ive tried in a long time. The only thing that comes close to it would involve a plane to Asia, fortunately Champa makes it easier to get the real authentic taste right in your town. Will be back for sure and yes, you should try it too.

Everything was so delicious. The place is so clean and very neat and the servers and the cooks were so nice and very welcoming.

Hands down, some of the best food I ve had recently! My husband and I visited Champa for the first time on a Saturday evening and were seated on the cozy outdoor patio. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavour. My husband had the yellow curry, and I had the crispy roasted duck, finishing off with a sago coconut pudding. The menu offers a fantastic selection, and we loved everything we tried. Tim truly cares about his guests, he was gracious and accommodating, ensuring every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. This restaurant exceeded all our expectations - we had only positive comments about the food and service. We can t wait to come back again!

My friends and I passed by here looking for dinner and decided to give this place a try. Absolutely amazing. It s a family run business and every dish and drink we had was very good. I 100% suggest getting the nam vanh sagou dessert if they have it. It s like a warm comforting hug.

I have driven by here so many times before and finally decided to try it out. The food was super authentic and delicious. The service was great and the atmosphere has a very nice feeling of thai and laos culture. New favorite for thai and laos food.

This was my first experience eating at this restaurant, and I can t say that I ll be going back right away. The staff were super welcoming and kind, but I d say the food is lacking in a couple of areas. I ordered the rare beef and brisket pho. The price was reasonable, like other pho restaurants. But I normally order rare beef, brisket, tripe, and tendon pho for $16.00. The same dish at this restaurant was almost $19.00, which was a little bit of a shock for me. The pho overall was mediocre, my only complaint is that the noodles broke apart very easily. My boyfriend on the other hand got the spicy pad Thai and unfortunately he did not enjoy it at all. He found it very very sour, forcing himself to eat it. We asked for some sugar in hopes to minimize the sourness, it helped a little but not enough for the dish to be enjoyable. It was also too saucy for our liking. He unfortunately left hungry.

Delicious food, great service and beautiful ambience! I have been here one year apart and experienced the same taste and quality of the food. Highly recommended Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and Tofu options available, they also customize as per the request.

Champa Kitchen is one of those hidden gems that you almost dont want to tell people about because it is SO GOOD and you want to keep it to yourself. But that would be doing a huge disservice to this family-run restaurant. The food is incredible, the service is incredible. Not much more to say, except. Go. There. (and order the crispy chicken on noodles).

We had very delicious authentic Thai Vietnamese dishes here. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. The portion size is quite generous for the value of your money. We had pho, fried rice and dessert and they were all delicious. I would come back again anytime I m in Waterloo.

The food here is consistently great, Ive been here 10x and Ive never had a dish here that I havent reminisced later in the day. The crispy duck noodle soup is stellar and is on the specials but dont sleep on the rest of the menu either. The pho was great, and their red curry treads the line between sweet and spice well. Best time to come here is weekdays at lunch.

This place is amazing!! If you are looking for a cozy fine dining, Go to Champa! Their atmosphere is very nice, their service is excellent and very fast. I can t stay away from this place. Best Asian food in KW, hands down in my opinion. A definite must try. I just have to update this review. When this place opened and the owner was doing most the cooking the food was amazing. In the last many months a few friends have commented how they tried it or went back and didn t like it. Stunned by this I went myself for take out. And I have to totally agree. Something big has gone wrong in the kitchen. The food was so bad and had so little value I will not return. Too bad it s an easy walk to get to. Went back again recently and I have to say the food was excellent. When the owner is in the kitchen the food is just excellent!

Came in today on a whim with 2 friends. I got the pad see ew and it was everything I want in a noodle dish. It was so delicious! The sauce was amazing. Also had a nice server! I recommend :)

After trying other restaurants, this is the best crispy chicken I have ever had in Waterloo!

The server was not very nice and denied accommodation for spicy level, server was a bit rude when adjusting us, he also splash my friend by accident and did not even apologies. The food was good to the taste but wasn t traditional food that I have had in Thailand or other restaurants in town. I inquired about the flavour in which he just said it was another way to make it. Not a good experience.

I love going here for dates with my boyfriend. It seems to be run by a cute family and the food is amazing. We really like the coconut shrimp and the crispy duck. I also LOVE all their dessert - the thai tea pudding especially.

Note: this review is purely just on the Thai-side of things The pad see ew was definitely something. Not good, but something. The noodles were overcooked and broke at any sign of tension and the sauce was gritty and left a grainy taste after a couple bites, which is a few more bites than I would have liked. The gritty taste probably comes from the breaking of emulsifiers; they might have put too much damn heat on it and the constituent sauces broke. The chicken satay was dry and as flat as Kansas and the mojito didnt taste like watermelon as advertised. Maybe the other food is better, since they do other SEA cuisines I think. I wouldnt know; I probably wont anytime soon.

We ordered way back when you could only order takeout during the covid days and swear we would be back to sit and enjoy a meal, we are sorry it took so long to come back, our food was fresh, warm, and delicious. unfortunately the portion size was unbelievably small. ordered the chicken satay. I didn t expect a lot of chicken but the bed of lettuce, a.few onions and mango was very disappointing. i ordered the Thai spring rolls as an appetizer and still left the restaurant hungry. I would suggest the owner either increase the size of the salad or add rice.

Got the crispy duck noodle soup (100) and spicy chicken lab kai (17). The crispy duck was just ok, obviously it did not stay crispy long. It wasnt a wow for me (6/10) The spicy chicken lab Kai was a new experience, and I think the sticky rice paired so nicely with it (8/10)!

Excellent authentic thai food

We had lunch there today. I had the yellow seafood curry with rice and my wife had roasted duck soup with vermicelli. Both dishes were very good. Similar to the Twinfish restaurant in Mississauga. Highly recommend this place . Service was excellent! Will try it again when I visit my son in Waterloo.

Amazing. My wife and I just went for the first time. A nice quaint family run place. We were served by Zander who was amazing and super helpful. We had a few appetizers... Btw the Jasmine tea is super good. We then had the beef pad Thai and the red curry. Both were super full of flavour and just the right amount of heat. To top it off, we spoke with Tim, the owner, at the end of the meal. What a really nice guy and the kind of person you just really want to succeed. We are definitely going back!

Food was decent enough for us to come back the second time. But the service for the second time could not be worse. We waited 30 minutes without having anyone check on us. We tried getting the waiters attention multiple times, but they always looked away or ignored us. We saw other tables getting waited on, and the waiters had time for chit chats. Finally the waiter (also the store owner I believe) came, very unapologetic and condescending when I mentioned politely the service was taking too long. Will not come back ever again. Edit: to respond to the owner, no that was not our group you mentioned.

Favourite place for pho in all of waterloo, an amazingly run family restaurant with great variety. All their food is delicious and the service is fast and well done!

Ive been twice, and each dish has been great.

The food is authentic and the owner is very hospitable. Really great service and he gave us travel tips for Thailand and was very passionate about the culture and food. Definitely recommend for when you re in town. The yellow curry and mango sticky rice / mango pudding desserts are must haves!

Dirty place, extremely poor food. I think the pieces of chicken were expired, tasted horrible. Im surprised I didnt get sick. Will never go back.

Ive only ordered take out. But this is our go to spot. My wife loves crispy duck and gets it every time. Im a guy who likes to try new flavours all the time and every dish is amazing. Ive only had good things here. The champa feast ( a smattering of apps ) is a go to for us and I love the coconut bubble tea. All the meals feel very well prepared and everything is too notch quality. Top quality food for a decent price. I highly recommend eating here.

Good portions and flavour

I really liked this place. I hadnt been to a Laotian restaurant before, and there arent that many Southeast Asian restaurants in the area, so its nice to know this place exists. The food was great. The menu is pretty large, and theres a lot of variety in what you can order. It was a decent portion for the price, as well. The ambience is really laid back and relaxed. The decor is really nice too and it stands out. We had no complaints about the service.

The waiter (I think he s one of the owners) is extremely welcoming and the food is delicious. Portion sizes are filling and reasonably priced. Truly an underrated spot!

We went to Champa Kitchen on a weekday dinner time and it wasn t too busy. We were given our menus when we got seated. We were a larger group so we took a bit longer to decide what we wanted and the waiter was really patient and helpful while they took our order. We really enjoyed the drinks; Thai Ice Tea With Condensed Milk ($6.95) and Mango Blizzard Shake ($7.95). Both quite sweet though so if you don t like drinks that are too sweet, you may not like it. The Beef Satay (2 Pieces) ($10.50) were alright, nothing too special but the peanut sauce was good. For the mains, we got the Crispy Chicken Over Pan Fry Egg Noodle ($22.95), the chicken wasn t that crispy but it was well seasoned. I liked the noodles but not everyone at the table liked it. Pan Fry Rice Noodle In Garlic Soya Sauce with mixed seafood ($17.75) had a good kick and the seafood was tasty. Pad Mee Noodle ($15.95), same issue with the egg noodles. The mains were only okay for most of us and they were more on the expensive end. Finally, we got the mango sticky rice for dessert. It was good, but I ve definitely had better, the dish wasn t sweet enough and the mango was borderline sour (not a fan of sour). Liked that it s a small restaurant that mixes a few cultures together; Laos, Thai, and Viet food. However, some dishes were hits and misses among the table. We liked the drinks but I think we just need to try different dishes next time. Overall, not a bad experience but nothing super special and since the dishes are a bit more expensive, we expected more.

Thought we d try out a new restaurant for a late lunch and we weren t disappointed. We got the Nam Khao and Pad Thai because we favour authentic dishes the former a Lao dish we ve never tried (a rice dish full of flavour and texture) and the latter notably cooked with signature tamarind. Both were delicious! Also, since it was a late lunch (mid afternoon really), we were the only ones there and had a lovely conversation with one of the owners, Tim. We learned that he works the front of house while his wife is the chef. They make a great team. Highly recommend!

Been here twice and food was mostly delicious. I really liked their Laos specialties. I am not familiar with south east asian cousine so cant comment on authenticity. Boyfriend and I have been looking for places in the KW area that we could dine at more frequently and this is now on our list.

My husband and I went here for a dinner on Valentine s Day on the recommendation of a friend and were NOT disappointed! Each of our dishes were so flavourful and delicious. We got the pad thai and teriyaki udon noodle dish. We started with the Champa platter. The dishes were so large we got to enjoy leftovers the next day. After dinner one of the owners came over to check in and he was super friendly. Definitely will add Champa to our list of go to restaurants for this style of food. Excellent experience.

This is the first time I m posting a google review as I thought there is a need to do this. The star was for the environment, and partly for the service, but absolutely not the food. We sat down at the restaurant and no menu was given, we waited for a long time but no one was free to serve us. We looked at the menu on google review online ourselves and requested the server to take our order, instead of the server approaching us. The server was kind and friendly though. We ordered pad thai and yellow curry. The pad thai was nothing like the authentic thai pad thai, it has lots of dark brown coloured sauce in it (the colour looks exactly like curry), felt like we re almost eating a soup noodle. The taste tasted more like chinese chow mein (soy sauce fried noodles). The yellow curry was also not authentic. Both dishes were extremely salty and we have to drink a lot of water to keep our mouths fresh. The rice that came with the curry was not even fully cooked. The texture was hard and unchewy. As asians me and my friend both agreed that was the most terrible dining experience at a thai restaurant we have ever had. We both had stomachache that night and the day after. Probably the food was way too salty. Would not recommend visiting.

So glad we found this place ... food was great. We are usually not often in around downtown, but we had a bit of shopping to take off, so we came here on a whim. So glad we came by. The service was very friendly, fast and informative, the food was delicious and properly seasoned. My wife said her teriyaki stir-fry was excellent! And we both loved the fresh rolls with the deelish peanut sauce. The atmosphere was relaxed and not too noisy. Well be back, next time we make the drive to the downtown core.

Now one of my favorite restaurants! My go-to combination is the larb moo pork salad with coconut rice + the galangal coconut soup. Dont forget to save space for dessert, its likewise worth it. The warm tapioca pudding dessert is an incredible blend of sweet and savory flavours, and the mango sticky rice is popular for a good reason!

Friendly staff, good food. One of my go-to restaurants in the KW region - would recommend :)! Their mango dessert is delicious, and their other taro based dessert is reminiscent of a taro sago dessert soup I grew up with so it holds a special place in my heart. The pad Thai is good as well - my go-to in the region.

My wife and I recently visited this restaurant and we were impressed with the food. We ordered the roasted crispy duck on egg noodles and Tom kha gai for our mains, and also tried the iced coffee with condensed milk. We found the food to be great and were satisfied with our choices. The ambiance of the restaurant was decent, and since we visited at 3:30 pm, we were the only ones there. As a result, we received great service from the staff. We assume that the service would be great during other times as well. The price was affordable as well, and the total bill for the three items we ordered came to only $50 plus tip. In terms of parking, we noticed that there was street parking available in front of the restaurant, but we chose to park in the town center parking lot instead, which was only a three-minute walk away. The parking lot was also free on weekends and offered two hours of free parking on weekdays. However, we did notice one issue with the menus during our visit. We found that the prices on the two menus were not consistent. One menu had higher prices than the other, which was a bit confusing for us as customers. We think that the restaurant should ensure that their menus are synced and have consistent prices to avoid confusion for their customers. Despite this issue, we still enjoyed our meal. Overall, we had a positive experience at this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food at an affordable price.

Maybe we picked a wrong night. I heard some good reviews of this place but surprisingly my experience here wasn t so great. I ordered shrimp tomyum soup, pad thai and thai tea with condensed milk. The soup and noodles were way too salty. The noodles were undercooked. The portion was pretty generous but unfortunately I had to leave the whole plate almost untouched. First I thought it was just me and my husband but I saw another table rinsing their papaya salad with water. And the drink was not served until all the dishes were served so we had to cancel it. We ended up paying over $70 but still hungry. It was disappointing.

Champa Kitchen is a local family-owned restaurant with authentic Laotian dishes. The owners are very friendly and work very hard to maintain the restaurant and serve a variety of delicious dishes. I would recommend the crispy duck as they have the best duck in the region. The duck is not fatty and comes with a crispy skin and is served with a selection of delicious dipping sauces. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quieter than most restaurants in Uptown so it is great for a drink and conversation. They play authentic Laotian music which is nice and not easy to find! Ive always experienced friendly service here and would not expect any less.

Found this restaurant with score 4.7. and first time try. Ordered red curry, cashew chicken and spicy coconut soup. They were so salty. And this is why I give 2 Star. I packed the food and decide to put some vegetables to balance the saltiness.

The food was amazing!! We got beef jerky and sausage with sticky rice but I forgot to take photo. Deep fried banana with vanilla ice cream is a must and mango sticky was ok, too. The staff was very friendly, they came over and check if everything was ok every few minutes. Prices are also reasonable too. Very good place, highly recommend.

Nice to see a restaurant that sells Lao food and plays Lao music! The place had great service and ambiance, and overall, the food was good. We ordered the Champa platter, beef skewer vermicelli, and sai gok (Lao sausage). The portions were really nice so we ordered another round of sai gok to go! The beef skewers were seasoned well and the meat was very soft. Whats really nice about the dish is that they used thick noodles rather than the thin vermicelli, which my wife was really happy to see. In terms of the Champa platter, I wouldnt recommend because the spring rolls and shrimp rolls were mediocre. The rest of the platter was fine, but I think it is quite pricey for what you get. For the sai gok, the overall flavour was nice and balanced. However, it wasnt hitting the same as some of the traditional sausage my family makes / buys from friends. The sausage is typically fried for longer to make it crispy and often has a much more intense savoury flavour. There was also too much dill for my liking, it was a hint too sweet, and not spicy enough. Thankfully it came with jaeow bong, so I used that to get the extra heat. I was pleasantly surprised by how much sticky rice they gave - it was the perfect amount and I could enjoy each sausage piece without holding back on the rice! Overall, good experience and Ill be willing to try their laarb if Im having a craving and havent gotten my fix from a family gathering.

I had a good experience here. Their food portions are big and filling. The service was excellent. However, my partner is vegetarian. She didnt have much choice at the time and her food was okay. I understand that they may not cook vegetarian food on a daily basis, so it was okay. We are thinking of going there again. Vegetarian options: They can improve on vegetarian options for sure because that was the underwhelming part of our meals.

Best in town for authentic asian food respect will definitely order again and again pad thai was damn good

The food was delicious, flavourful, and very fresh. The patio is a perfect spot to enjoy a cold drink and the ambiance is great. The service was speedy and friendly. This is a family run restaurant and they work together seamlessly.

Its like walking into a family kitchen! Warm greeting from the jolly old man and you are hit with the smell of delicious food. Every dish we tried was fantastic. From the chicken satay, calamari, and sausages, to the deep fried bananas and the tapioca pudding specials. Everything was superb. But the star of the show was the Crispy Duck (pro tip: get it with the curry sauce). It blew us away!!! Will definitely be making a return visit.

They do very nice things here. Duck is great. I swap for noodles, but you don t have to.

Amazing food. We went for lunch and had the Lao style sausage, pad mee, and some fresh rolls and fried calamari. Every single thing down to the sauces was really tasty. The service is fast, and they are very friendly.

Excellent food, loved the Homemade Lao Style Sausage (Sai Gok) in particular.

The food here is unreal. The yellow curry is maybe my favourite food on earth. It s mild - I can t handle spicy. But they have a couple other curries as well that are spicy. Anyways the stir fry in mango sauce is also amazing as a sweet dinner. The owners are friendly also.

We had Green Curry. Not authentic at all. Worst green Curry ever eaten. It was more like a stir fry.

The place is really cute with great atmosphere Qty is good for the price. We ordered fresh rolls - really very nice We werent very impressed with mango salad - I have had better .. Yellow curry is definitely recommended, milder curry Tom yum fried rice was delicious, nicely spiced.. Cashew chicken was good too - just thought there was more soy sauce than I normally like. Satay was great with a really nice peanut sauce on the side. Good qty of variety of veggies in everything we ordered.. We spent 100$ for a family of 2 adult, 2 kids.. no drinks. We had enough left over for a mini lunch next day.

We had originally planned to go to the UKI restaurant down the road, but unfortunately, they were closed. We decided to come here instead, and Im really glad we did! The service was attentive and excellent. The food arrived fairly quickly, and we all enjoyed the dishes we ordered. Overall, it was a good experience!

The food was good but the service was not good especially from 1 member of staff. His demeanor and tone was not just rude but condescending. He only expects you to answer in yes or no like you are sitting in the courtroom as he emphasizes its only a yes or no question. The 3 layer dessert special was very bland, not sweet and surprisingly served in glass. You would need a straw to eat the dessert.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for the first time, and overall, it was a pleasant experience with a few highlights and some room for improvement. We ordered No: 23 ( Spicy Chicken Coconut Soup) - If you are a spice lover then this is a must try. Chicken is well minced and has lot of flavor. Its for sure hot and spicy. Toppings are of additional price but dish as such is good. No: 40( Khao Piek Gai) - on contrast this dish is very mild and tasted really good. Noodles are well cooked. Thai Ice Tea : have had better , taste was not at all impressive for a $6 tea. Initially they served tea with lot of ice and I asked if I could get one with less ice ,waiter litrally just removed the ice and served me back the same drink but this time glass was half empty. Duck Wings : Tasted fine not great when compared to other dishes. Mango Pudding : Tasted well could have been better if it was more chilled. It was more of gelatin mango and coconut milk together. On other note the story of the restaurant is great. Its a good spot to hang out and couple of drinks. Has vegan and veg options. You can park in public park spots or street park is available with limited spots.

The veggies for the stir-fry are incredible - great variety, very fresh, and beautifully presented. There are only 2 spice level offerings: hot and not. The hot is pretty spicy (but in a good way). The rice was a bit too al dente for my liking as it didnt soak up any of the heat from the dish. The spring rolls were disappointing - very small and thin so there was barely any flavour to them. They were very bland and unlike other spring rolls Ive had at Vietnamese restaurants before. Id come back for another stir-fry but wouldnt pay $7 for 2 small spring rolls again.

I really really wanted to love this place because the service and atmosphere was so good. I was just confused. Had the larb, wasnt what I was expecting. Had no lettuce cups, and it was chicken breasts and spice mainly. There were only a few slivers of chicken hearts for the $2 more. Also unsure what made certain items specials given same price to main menu. Overall confused. I honestly suggest trying it out, maybe youd like it more than me. Try the fried foods instead of the larb maybe.

Located on King Street Had been to this place for dinner with my family.Had Singapore noodles(vegetarian) and the serving size was pretty big and more than sufficient for 1 person especially me being a light eater. The noodles were fresh hot and very tasty. Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options .

Second time (edit). Did not disappoint! Food was consistently delicious... First time trying Champa and was not disappointed. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, the service was prompt and friendly, and the portions generous. It was great finding duck done just the way I like it. Scrumptious! I am looking forward to returning and trying more from their menu.

Went there for the first time. The food was awesome and the service was great too.

Wow, what a great first experience with Laotian food! The waiter was happy to give us recommendations on what to try for our first visit. We split the Laos Sausage dish and the crispy duck with noodles. It was incredible! We will definitely be coming back to try more stuff!

Not originally being from the KW area, I ve been pleasantly surprised by the variety of southeast Asian options present here. Having never come across a Laotian restaurant, I was excited to give it a shot. I would recommend making a reservation on a busy night, but our party of 3 were lucky to get in without a wait. I was happy to see traditional drinks being served, and enjoyed the sweet, but bold Thai-style iced coffee, which helped with the spice of the food. I was recommended the crispy duck on egg noodles. The duck itself had a crisp, fatty skin, but I noticed the noodles were salty being too heavy on soy sauce flavour. The kitchen was able to accommodate to dietary restrictions and spice tolerances. The side yellow curry sauce was less noteworthy, as it had gone cold by the time it arrived to the table.

The food here is fantastic and reasonably priced, the service is also amazing. Very attentive to your needs and able to make suggestions. Why one star? The place is extremely understaffed, the ones that are on shift run around in a panic as they try to offer quality customer service to far too many tables. Whoever the owners are should consider bringing on additional staff, especially during weekends and evenings before you burn out your current ones. We took out the food. The seen savanh is the dish that truly stood out. The chilli condiment is legit. Definitely a keeper

Tried Champa Kitchen for dinner tonight, and we were not disappointed! Fresh, tasty food and good service. We found a new favorite! Parking: Parking on King Street and downtown lots.

We had the $17.50 lao style sausage and $18.95 pad see ew with beef, which we thought were okay. The portion sizes were big, but not quite to our tastes. The sausage was very herby and not as juicy as American style sausages. The waiter was very friendly and down-to-earth!

One of my favorite places to dine in the Waterloo Region, unassuming appearance, but the food here is delicious. My favorite item has to be the crispy duck on noodle. Would recommend to anyone

First time experience was great but it seems like the food quality has gone down. Udon with chicken and stir-fry chicken was very chewy. Spring roll order was very small, papaya salad dressing was dripping everywhere in the same bag with the rest of my food.

The Ph soup is a must! Every bite is so delicious and amazing. There are many options. We definitely will come back

Good south east asian dishes

I don t think it s a 4.7 star restaurant to be fair , I would say it is just a regular restaurant, maybe they changed the owner or something but there are many better Asian restaurants

Second time dining here at Champa Kitchen and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was great!

Champa Kitchen is always delicious! I recommend the Coconut Rice Salad.

So delicious, plentiful and good prices. Loved the sauces . The ice coffee is so delicious. Everything is very authentic. Service is amazing. We really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. Will be back next time we are in Waterloo.

Edit: Maybe it was only me having a bad day. Dine in, water tasted like mud, mango salad was fishy and stinky, peanut was black brown and rancid, pork was soft pinky raw and fried rice was lukewarm (I accept this as traditional but others not). The only one star for the environment and service.

This is my new favourite Thai/Lao/Vietnamese restaurant in Uptown. Amazing selections on the menu, generous portions, affordable but best of all are the tastes. The husband/wife owners clearly love their shop. The ambience is friendly and the place was packed on a Saturday at lunch. My friend and i shared a mango dessert that was heavenly, not too sweet. There were 5 choices of dessert. There is much to be said for this gem.

Not a family friendly restaurant. The waiter is very unfriendly and unaccomodative to give customer s choice of seating when the restaurant is completely empty. They have no good place to park stroller. Don t recommend this place.

Great food and really friendly staff

I was at this restaurant with a few friends on December 17, 2023, and witnessed the owner deal with what I thought was a minor issue that ended up being a much larger issue to a customer regarding seating and accessibility in this establishment (which eventually led to a review on this day). The owner and staff appear to be caring, hard-working, personable and the food is absolutely great. I would disregard any negative reviews from this day, as other than seeing a situation where a business had offered a number of solutions to a customer that they were unwilling to accept or even further discuss (as they just simply left when a few options were presented) as this is not right and not what these reviews should be used for. I cant wait to return to Champa Kitchen!
