A HIDDEN GEM ! Walking in from the front door ,the aroma of a wood oven entices you ,theres more inside ! Without a reservation on a Friday night(reccommended) , our wait was less than 5 minutes. Service was quick, gracious and the host was friendly. Fresh salad, pasta and pizza all presented and plated ,waiting to be devoured. Matt the owner was extremely polite and mingles with all his patrons. If you havent been to downtown Welland in a while, I reccommend you do so and pop in to have a fabulous dinner experience, we will be back.

Food, Service, ambiance is spot on. Best Italian I have had in a very long time. We had group of 6 and everyone loved their food choice.

Fabulous meal at Matteos last night! From the Caesars salad, gnocchi, portobello mushroom pizza and pasta bolognese, everything was fresh and delicious. The wood burning pizza oven produced a beautifully charred crust and the toppings were amazing. Service was attentive and they make a mean martini. Only (slight) downside was its very loud, because it was busy, which is a good thing, but sometimes conversation was difficult. This is a gem, old school Italian style. Will definitely return!

Shared a lovely night here with my wife. The owner and staff do a tremendous job at giving an exceptional and remembering experience. They have a stacked menu full of truly authentic Italian dishes that will have you wanting to come back to try more things on the menu. The owner also keeps a great selection of spirits available, perfect for an after dinner cordial.

Matteo s is a special place for my family and I and we often celebrate our special occasions there. The friendly staff, amazing food and extremely reasonable prices always have us coming back. Matt is not only an excellent chef but he knows to treat his customers. Even when he s behind the scenes cooking up one of his amazing meals he s sure to come out at some point in the night to speak with every table in the restaurant to ensure that their food was good, they enjoyed their time there or just to ask how they re doing. He truly makes his guests feel welcomed and appreciates your business. The value for your dollar is something you rarely see nowadays on both his wine and food. I d say that similar meal at another restaurant could be easily 25-50% more and wine 50-100%. I would never hesitate to recommend someone to eat there my only problem would be telling them what to eat because I can never choose a favourite dish. Thank you Matt!

Fine Dining is minimal in Welland; so, there are not many choices. My only major complaint is that the chairs are most uncomfortable. If they replace the chairs, I will definitely return.

My family and I went here for a birthday dinner. Fabulous food! Warm and welcoming atmosphere. What struck me the most was I noticed someone enter the building and one of the chef s quickly asked if they wanted any food. I saw them prepare the individual food and gave them a drink. It s nice to see businesses helping out others in the area, judgement free. We will definitely be back!

If you have never gone to Italy and wish to experience what it is like at a restaurant in Italy, go to Matteo s! This place is so chill and the atmosphere is honestly a lot like the real thing (in Italy) My gf, her cousin and myself went there one evening and it was great service from the start. They were a bit packed, so we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, however, Matt kept coming to us every 2-3 minutes and telling us that it wouldn t be much longer and that he was sorry for the wait. This is service that you cannot find just anywhere. To feel acknowledged was everything. When we got seated, he personally came to us and spent about 10 minutes telling us about the menu and making sure we understood it. The waiter, cannot remember her name, was super nice as well and took the time to explain or answer any questions we had. The complimentary bread and olive oil is a MUST try, For real! I could eat that all day tbh. If you want a chill vibe restaurant, with a real Italian feel; go to Matteo s! You won t regret it

I have to give the service a bad review because of the experience my party had on Thursday night July 25th at Matteos. We were 2 groups of 7 and 5, with the 7 arriving well ahead of the 5. Orders were made for the 7, at least 30 minutes ahead of the second group. After an acceptable amount of time, 5 orders arrived, and those, myself included, began our meal. For the two remaining meals, the wait was an hour after the orders, clearly the chits had not been made or read by the staff. After Id completed my dinner, their meals arrived with no apologies or explanation. At the conclusion of the meal, when their bills arrived, each of us was give a service industry standard of an automatic 25% gratuity. When the guests whos meals arrived unacceptable late, they too were charged the so called industry standard! When challenged the owner did not apologize, offer to remove the automatic gratuity or offer any compensation for the poor service. We all left very disillusioned and disappointed and will no longer recommend anyone from our yearly group of over 80, come to this restaurant. A simple apology, a glass of wine, or a complimentary dessert would have gone a long way to make amends. As far as I know, none of these were done. A serious mistake by the owner, in this diners opinion.

Omg! I picked up gnocchi tonight and ordered two portions as I was told it was appetizer size. I assumed appetizer prize nope. The bill was almost 39$ and the gnocchi s were mushy. The picture shows what almost 39$ buys you! So expensive and terrible. I feel so taken advantage of! Never again! Don t go there .

I never write reviews for anything, but after my experience at Matteo s, I felt it was needed. My partner and I ate dinner here during one of our trips this summer and not only was the food incredible, but the owner was very kind and genuine to all of his customers and staff. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning should I find myself in Welland again.

Wonderful local gem. Attended here with my mother and family. Wonderful food, decent pricing and super nice staff. Definitely a great place to go and support a local business! Owner came out to say hello and chat which was pretty nice. Will definitely go back! Parking: Some street parking, or else park at City Hall or by the Farmers Market. A short walk to the restaurant.

Weve been talking about visiting Matteos for 3 years now, and Im happy that we finally did. Matteos is a quaint little restaurant with an intimate feel. The food was DELICIOUS! We started with arancini, and then I had the lasagna, and my fiancé had a pizza; made in their wood fire oven. Well be back for sure!!

My husband and I love to experience authentic food and an inviting atmosphere which Matteo s absolutely offers. We have been a few times - once with our son for a family night and again we went back for a romantic date night and everyone loved it. It means something extra special when the owner is handcrafting your food and you watch him go table to table to ensure everyone is enjoying their time. There is an authenticity about him and the staff that is very calming. I can t wait to try the lobster ravioli which I have heard is amazing!

05/31/24 - Well....Mattie....you seem to have your facts and information quite conveniently mixed up. My wife and our elderly friend were not concerned about my complaints concerning you and your staffs behaviour, they were so upset with the treatment and obvious discrimination you openly displayed. You wouldnt provide safe and adequate seating for 3 people, because your policy was clearly stated on tables of 4 or 2 that is all you seat, so 3s are relegated to your counter top table at the entrance, not even 8 feet from the front door and then you make people sit on a rickety bar stool, even an 86 year old woman with mobility issues. AMAZING...yet you go on about my Europe comments or world travel for 35+ years and eating in some great restaurants...I have no idea why you would do that. Your Pit Bull hostess was exactly that...rude and aggressive. So yes my wife and our elderly friend visiting from South Africa were quite taken aback by you and your staffs behaviour. The people you seated at a table for four, DID NOT HAVE A RESERVATION...and they told me directly yet you seated them before us and at a table we could have enjoyed, but your staff clearly stated you do not seat 3 people ever at a table set for 4, so you make them sit at this bar height table 8 feet from your front door with some rickety bar stools. Quite unbelievable and unprofessional and likely illegal as you are clearly discriminating. Good restaurants and businesses take criticism to help them improve. I suggest you consider that. You are clearly not that experienced and chose to make a major incident and discrimination, poor policy and treatment by your staff into something even larger. As a business owner myself, I can tell you that never works. You practice discrimination against a customer for not taking 3 people to a regular table, respecting their reservation and then more seriously a senior of 86 years with mobility challenges, you would not provide safe seating and location. How very amateur, unprofessional and short sighted. I will be investigating discrimination charges with the city against your business. So sad that you would respond the way you did for something that was clearly in your hands, as owner, to rectify.

The lobster ravioli was divine. Everything on the menu sounded delicious so we will definitely be back soon to try some other items. Their online menu doesnt list prices so I was expecting it to be expensive, but it was quite reasonably priced. Reservations are recommended.

The service was excellent from the minute we walked in. Friendly staff greeted us and showed us to our table. Drinks and appetizers were on point and delicious. The food was to die for. Amazing textures and flavour combinations. Desserts were out of this world. I am definitely returning and can t wait.

UPDATE: hadnt been in a while, daughter will be 9 soon. Had a great meal as always. Piccata and carbonara were excellent. Try the arancini! Went there with my 6 year old daughter. There is no kids menu so she also got lunch lol. They gave us some bread and beans to start. Then we had the antipasto plate which had some sliced parm, fresh mozz, salami, prosciutto, peperettes, pickled veg and honey. Great start. Daughter loved her FRESH pasta (Pasta Bolognese). Pizza out of the wood fired oven was excellent. Sat out on the patio. Service was spot on. We will definitely be going back. Need to try the lobster ravioli!

The pizzas had the perfect combination of flavors. The goat cheese and the nicely cooked vegetables in the Tuscana pizza made it our favorite. We also tried their pineapple cider which was refreshing and delicious. The service was excellent. The restaurant was smaller then what we expected and it was a bit noisy since there was a birthday dinner. Overall we had a really nice experience, we are definitely coming back!

Food is excellent, staff is friendly. The owner accommodated us when we requested a reservation. Very impressive as he assisted staff with bussing and setting up tables for new clients.

Matt Is a true master in his element. His restaurant is a true expression of his gift. His food is his gift. My family had the pleasure of enjoying one of our favorite meals of all time at his restaurant just last Saturday. We enjoyed many items from the menu including linguine, gnocchi, deconstructed lobster, ravioli, rack of lamb as well as appetizers which included mouth watering mussels. I look forward to visiting this small and unassuming fine dining establishment again soon! Thanks so much, Matt! You and your staff made our special dinner amazing!! I would highly recommend visiting this Italian Ristorante! *Oh, I almost forgot to mention their wood-fired pizza - Margherita style was off the charts, mouth, watering and something to be savored even as a leftover!!! Dietary restrictions: Just ask Matt and he will do his due diligence for any dietary restrictions.

Went here with my girlfriend to have a valentines day dinner. Was very excited when we came in, as the atmosphere seemed very welcoming. Problem was I couldnt see my girl across the table because nobody turned the lights on in the dining area. Probably to hide the smoke coming off the frying pan near the wood oven (manager knows, watched him tell the chef). Served lobster bisque was good, save for the cold lobster in the center, not sure if frozen or cold bath but very off putting. Then you charge 34 bucks for a lobster plate with 2 pieces of lobster which still had shell pieces on them. My girlfriend couldnt finish the carbonara because of the amount of cream used. Carbonara typically doesnt have cream so its her go to. I really wish this place would bring its A game when a 2 person service will cost 94 dollars without a drop of alcohol ordered. Disappointment. Parking: Had to park down the street and walk to the restaurant.

Made reservations for a Tuesday night, glad we did. Food was amazing, definitely save room for dessert and order the cheesecake soooo good. Friendly server and I believe the owner was there and greeted us at our table and when we left Came from port colborne to try for the 1st time and ee will definitely be back! Food

Most exquisite dining experience in sometime... Matteos in Welland... Veal chop with veggies - veal picatta/linguine... Gorgeous Napa Valley cab sauv... And the most unique dessert... phylo wrapped cheesecake that youve never tasted in your life with Carmel drizzle....wow! Extensive talk/discussion with the most gracious knowledgeable and personable owner/chef. Hats off to you Matteo... cant wait to return, sooner than later with friends to enjoy again. Most personable and attentive serving staff. Bravo.

Wow! This restaurant is a must go. We went for dinner last night with friends. First thing that struck us was the warm inviting atmosphere; the authentic wood fired pizza oven, decor and lighting. Our server Alexis was knowledgeable with suggestions and super nice. You can see the owner and staff all get along well. We ordered an appetizer to share and 4 different main courses. Everything was exceptional! So much fun when you come across a family owned restaurant like this.

Food was ok but service absolutely horrible to say the least. I dont go to Welland often but when I do, introduce to support restaurants. From the minute we walked in, this server (woman) had a horrible attitude. I went with my sister-in-laws who I rarely see and she even asked us to leave once we were done because she needed the table. We had just finished paying the bill so i guess she wasnt impressed with her poor tip that matched her attitude. The restaurant wasnt even near being filled. Im posting this one week after being there and still completely disgusted with the service. Its too bad people can be so rude.

I went here on a recommendation. I am so glad we did. Chef Matt was Very welcoming. The rest of staff was as well. I have since been back again. I can t say enough about the food, the atmosphere. Most importantly how Chef Matt made us feel. This is the best place if you are looking for, A comfortable relaxed experience. The food is top notch. All the staff is truly amazing. **Long review** I would like to give a friendly reminder about the customer service industry. There will always be mistakes. I have read through these reviews and I feel bad for the people who have had a negative experience. I have been here a handful of times. Did I have to wait for food or service? Sometimes, yes. This is the case in alot of restaurants.There is a reason this place is so busy. The food is amazing. Any staff I have ever come across have been nothing short of kind, friendly, generous, and apologetic for any wait on food or table service. I certainly have never left hungry. I watch them each time I visit working their butts off, and being as accommodating as any restaurant can be. I totally agree that they need more staff. Staff shortages are worse than ever. Unfortunately sometimes, people dont show up. People dont apply because they just dont want to work. Therefore forced to work short and take on their jobs and someone elses. I love the atmosphere personally. My advice.... -Plan ahead and make reservations. We didnt like the round table when we visited a week ago. However, we made the best of it, as the restaurant was packed. It wasnt as bad as we thought it would be. -Be patient, and actually watch how hard they work. -Plan to stay awhile. Yes its busy and sometimes loud. But the warm and happy atmosphere on top of their amazing food makes it ALL worth it. -Every single server, cook etc is just out here trying their best. They are HUMAN and sometimes things do not go as planned. People forget things, and make mistakes. Bad experiences happen everywhere. This is an exceptional restaurant. It is quite small so a reservation is always in order. When you are seated, the hostess is very warm with her greeting and explains that everything is made fresh there. When you taste the food, you will believe it. Matteo himself makes all the food and it is fabulous. We ordered a margarita pizza as an appetizer and it was fantastic. The Linguini Pescatore is unbelievable because the homemade pasta is so fresh and delicious. The people beside us were exclaiming about the lasagna (which really did look good) and the veal piccata was really good. Dessert was an Apple strudel like no other. I m sure there are other dessert offerings, but don t pass that up. I honestly almost didn t review this restaurant because I didn t want it to become any more popular than it is, but in fairness, I thought the people in the area deserve to know about this gem. My second visit here and was a little disappointed. I had been here in the fall and thoroughly enjoyed the pasta carbonara. In my last visit, the carbonara was not very good. It was dry and pasty, not creamy the way it was last time and the way it should be. The pizza was very good.

I m not in Welland often but have a couple friends out that way who have raved about Matteo s so I figured I d give it a go. And they did not disappoint! Beautiful restaurant. Amazing staff. Alexis and Terry were attentive, personable and gave us some great recommendations! Their service was impeccable along with the chefs outstanding food. Highly recommend Matteo s to everyone! Will definitely be making the trip back! I don t post reviews but this one definitely warranted a review!

We decided to check out Matteo s for the first time after hearing so many great things and I am super pleased! Our waitress (Alexis) went above and beyond to make sure our experience was enjoyable, and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back again.

Just returned from Matteos and very disappointed with the service and the food. We arrived for our 7 pm reservation and quickly was asked for drinks and food order. We waited for our food over an hour from the time we ordered. People who came after was served sooner. My husband ordered the pizza and the entire outside of the pizza was burnt. My friend and myself ordered the Eggplant dinner and it was the worse eggplant I ever had. Not cooked at all. It was very noisy in there so the entire experience was not good. I am not one to make reviews immediately after returning home from dinner, but felt the need to do so.

How can I be from Niagara and never heard of this place? Wow! On a Tuesday night when most other restaurants on the street were closed or near empty, this place was bumpin! Great food, service was one super energetic amazing woman, and an atmosphere that made you feel at home. The chef was crazy busy but still made his way to the table right before we left. Thinking this could be my new favourite place. Thank you staff for making my birthday dinner with my friend one to remember.

My 94 year old aunt and I just had the most lovely time at Matteos. The server was so kind and helpful. Matteo, the chef/owner genuinely cares about his customers and makes sure that everything is of the highest quality. If I lived in the area, I would definitely be a regular. How fortunate is Welland to have such a quality restaurant. If you havent already discovered Matteos (and if you live here I cant believe you havent eaten there yet), you will definitely want to go for a meal. Vegetarian options: There wasnt a vegetarian option on the pizza menu but I just asked for one and he made me something beautiful and delicious. The garden salad was the first one I have had in a very long time at a restaurant where there was not wilted lettuce leaves. Everything in it was crisp, fresh and delicious.

Matt and his team were fantastic and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our meal and their ristorante. Highly recommend. Only advice is to make reservation. Inside seating for only 32-34, with additional sidewalk patio in summer months. Pricing very fair for simply fresh fare.

I was born and raised in Italy, now living in Canada. Matteos is the best Italian restaurant where I have eaten in Niagara Region. Matteo is very cordial and attentive. He loves to experiment and try different dishes and they are always delicious! The staff is awesome! It is my favorite place to eat Italian food!

We found this Gem completely by surprise, and we were not disappointed. My partner and I arrived 10 minutes before close, and chef welcomed us in, I know it can be frustrating when people walk in last minute but we appreciated him allowing us to sit. Our server and chef made us feel at home and welcomed in every way. He came out to talk to us as we enjoyed our meal. We ordered the prosciutto and goat cheese app, and the anchovy pizza WOW!! Outstanding! The food was fabulous and the the service was outstanding and hospitable. We will be back for a date night soon. This is a smaller establishment with seating for maybe 20-30. It is a family owned and run Italian restaurant and the food and service is absolutely amazing.

What a wonderful unexpected little gem in the heart of Welland! From the moment we arrived the staff were warm and welcoming. The quaint atmosphere lended a homey feel to the experience. The food was simply devine, we started with the arancini which was lightly breaded and filled with a creamy and perfectly cooked risotto. The prosciutto that accompanied both the arancini and gnocchi were a welcomed highlight to each dish. The gnocchi does deserve a special mention on its own. Light, fluffy and cooked to perfection. The lasagna and Agnolotti Rose were unforgettable. That rose sauce... Chef should be proud. The flavours danced. When we thought the offerings couldnt be topped, along came their phyllo baked cheese cake. No words. Trust me, you want to experience it for yourself. I will return.

Excellent food last night - it was our first time there and everything exceeded our expectations. So much more to try - will definitely be returning. Prices are reasonable for such quality dishes. The lobster ravioli was amazing! I found the atmosphere a pinch loud but we were near the kitchen/washrooms so that s expected. You definitely will not be disappointed.

Found this place entirely by chance and cannot say enough about the wait staff, the food, or the owner. We were quickly seated on a busy evening without a reservation, followed by incredible service for drinks, appetizers and entrees. Best Italian cuisine we have eaten, and I frequent Little Italy in Ottawa often. I look forward to my next visit to Welland just to eat here again. Patrick.

Service, A+.. The Arancini was full of flavour.. Drink was poured nicely, not watered down. I had Chicken Parm, it was perfectly cooked and the sauce with it was also excellently flavoured. My wife had the seafood with fettuccine.. She also said it was perfect. We will be back. Prices are also super fair compared to the spot we used to frequent *cough* Johnny Roccos . I went for dinner with my partner, we didn t have reservations and it was busy yet as soon as we got there the staff was so welcoming and we were quickly seated. The service was so excellent that we came back the next day for lunch . We had pasta the first day and forgot to take pictures but the following day we got pizza and wine. All of the food is so fresh and made to order. I have not one complaint for the awesome place

I ve been enjoying this restaurant for years. Chef Matt and his staff make dining here an absolute fantastic experience. Terry service is amazing and really compliments the meal every time. The pizzas are some of the best I ve ever had including Chicago and NY. I always get the trappenese comes with spinach, red peppers, caramelize, onions, and really tasty Italian sausage, perfectly crisp. He s a master with the wood fired oven. His pastas are fantastic. Last visit we shared carbonara with linguine and they serve a really fantastic fillet topped with blue cheese and garlic butter. They pair of those wonderful steak with sautéed asparagus, roasted potatoes, and candied carrots we took home a dessert it was a pastry with caramel sauce, and it was absolutely delicious, we always have a good time and a great meal there

Matteo s is definitely my top 10 restaurant not only coz the food is extremely well prepared , tasty , fresh and delicious mouth watering dishes . My favorite is Alfredo fettuccine , gnocchi , caprese salad , stuff ricotta pasta with rose sauce . Everything they make there is amazing fresh and delicious . Me my whole family loves to visit Matteo s every so often . They give us complimentary bread with the dip in which is my dads absolute favorite he almost likes it more then everything else . Breads always fresh cut amazing selection of wine and whiskey . amazing restaurant extremely amazing team of people always smiling and u get served with love . A friend recommended this place when I wanted to try somewhere new. Im happy she did! It was just me and my husband. I ordered the salmon and he had the veal parmesan. We were both totally pleased! The staff is very pleasant The owner did stop to ask if we are OK with everything which is nice. Quite a quaint place. The only downfall is I guess the design? Material? Im not sure but we found it noisy to hear each other. We still want to come back and try the stone oven pizza. My friend said it was the best shes had. Thanks for not disappointing us.

This place has a personal atmosphere. The service was above and beyond great. Such friendly owner and employees. Our waitress was amazing. And to top off the evening the food was absolutely delicious and fresh. We drove 40 minutes to get there and will do it again without question.

Ordered takeout on Friday night; had to wait 10-15m however, I was acknowledged and re-assured that my order would be finished soon. For the time being, I was offered a small glass of wine to enjoy while I waited and was thanked endlessly for my patience. My husband & I made a last minute decision to go somewhere local for dinner on a busy Friday night. When we walked up we were worried there wouldnt be a seat available for us. They made space for us & took care of us. They even started us off with some tasty appetizers, which were amazing. Our food was fabulous, my husband got the Atomic Pizza which was full of flavour & so yummy. I ordered the Chicken Milano which was cooked perfectly, and the vegetables on the side were all tasty as well and cooked just right. Thanks for a great meal

They have gotten lazy. The last time we ate there will be the last. Pizza was greasy. Cooking staff was inexperienced. Beet gnocchi was served with Red Sauce or Alfredo??? I was literally served it with a soup spoon with so much sauce. No exaggeration. Owner who was sort of a hostess did not smile or made us at all feel welcome. Owner man was drinking wine???????? This place seriously went downhill. But there are still enough local patrons around to fill the tiny place. It was so unworthy of the cost for food made by kids in the back. The server was very friendly, I can go on about the other meals at the table but its just not worth it. Too bad . We used to go there for special occasions.

Ordered Lobster Ravioli, which tasted so bad that we no longer want to order Lobster Ravioli somewhere else. The lobster inside of vavioli is cold/frozen and tasted like fake lobster meat. Very disappointed.

Had such a great night at Matteos. My fiancées lobster ravioli was perfection and my homemade fettuccini sausage and rappini was delightful. Cant wait to be back again. Matteo (owner) is so welcoming. Come pay him and his great restaurant a visit.

Best Italian food I ve ever had (other than my Nonna s, but I might be biased on that). Seriously this place is a hidden GEM. We got a few apps, a bottle of wine, and main dish. It was all fantastic. The environKent was so cute and cozy as well.

Ordered over the phone for pickup, when arriving to pick up the food I was the only one in the restaurant and they had just started making my food as I arrived. I waited an additional 35 mins and the food wasnt even warm. Heard this was a good place but I dont think Ill be going back.

This place is a hidden gem ! I am almost regretting writing this review because i dont want it to get any busier. Had the best antipasto plate of my life and a wonder meal of veal parm. Amazing atmosphere and top notch service.

5 star for Welland, I grew up here and granted the hours this guy always has fresh delicious food. I usually get the lobster benedict ive never had a bad piece of seafood or odd tasting dish its always been fresh, delicious and consistent. Their wood oven pizza is great as well. Definitely support this restaurant!

Busy place so if you are in a hurry maybe look elsewhere. But the owner and his sister are great people and the food was on point.

Always enjoyed this place until the last time we ate there. We ordered the seafood pasta, and the sauce was not merely puttanesca but over the top hot, as though a whole jar of red peppers had been dumped in it. This totally drowned out the seafood flavours - actually even the tomato flavour - all flavours. I can t figure out why, as usually the flavours are balanced, and the deserts are delicious. Fortunately, the waitress offered to replace my order at no cost. My husband stuck with it, although he also found it too hot ( and he likes Vindaloo!). Unfortunately, this used to be a favourite dish, and a major reason for us to visit. With regrets, it may have been our last visit.

August 9, 2022 - Had a dine-in meal for four. I had the Veal Parmesan and the others had gnocchi, penne pollo and fettucine alfredo. As before, the dishes were perfectly prepared from a size, taste and presentation perspective. Their oil and bean dip is a unique way to enjoy some bread before the entrees arrived. They were out of the Riesling we wanted, but substituted a Riesling-Gewurtztramminer which paired well with the dishes. Service was attentive and responsive as usual! March 2022 - Had a takeout dinner order of Arancini, Eggplant Parmesan and Veal Parmesan. It was ready as promised within a half hour and even though the restaurant was packed as it was a Friday, the service was prompt. The dishes were the right size (not too much, not too little) and hot and tasted great after driving home.

If you like being ignored and waiting hours for terrible food then this is the place for you. Better off going to McDonald s.

Matteo s is a breath of fresh air! It has the most amazing pizzas and pastas around and he even does TAKE OUT! The staff are courteous and friendly. The manager even remembers your name! The angliotti is heavenly. I definitely recommend. Vegetarian options: My husband loves the vegetarian options, there are so many of them. He doesn t know what to chose. Kid-friendliness: My kids love the place, it is gorgeous with lots to do and the staff are very kind, and patient with them.

Had a 5pm reservation and we were the first ones in the restaurant however it filled up quickly and we were forgotten about. Waitress never came back to ask how food was. My carbonara was extremely salty. After we were finished waited 20 minutes for the plates to be cleared as she walked by us numerous times. Forgot our dessert then asked if we wanted it to go. NO we were out for dinner. Won t be back !!

Came from Montreal to dont ne at Matteo s again , and the experience did not disappoint! Matteo s homemade pasta was aldente, the veal parm was melt in your mouth perfection, and the sauce in both the veal and the fish plate was light snd flavourful. Our dessert a cream cheese cake wrapped in a delicate phylo crust was devine. The service was fabulous and Matteo our host very warm and gracious - a true restaurateur - we will be back Matteo !

My boyfriend and I had the honor of dining in Matteos a few times. Not only is the food phenomenal, but the service was incredible. The owner, Matteo, is very customer focused, and does his very best to make sure everyone is happy. The restaurant is pretty small, but the atmosphere is very uplifting. All staff are very welcoming, polite and attentive. They have an amazing wood oven, and the pizza comes out perfect every time!! The food is super fresh and always delicious and well portioned. Definitely one of a kind restaurant. They really put the fine, in fine dining! Would rate more than 5 stars if I could, it is the highest quality gourmet cuisine I have ever had. We went on a Friday night and we had reservations for 5:30. The restaurant itself is very small so you might want to call ahead for reservations. We ordered the prosciutto and arugula pizza along with the scallop , shrimp and mussel pasta. Unfortunately I wasnt a huge fan of the pizza, the pasta was nice and spicy but then again I just found it okay. The mussels and scallops were delicious I just wish the sauce had been different. Our waitress was super friendly, but unfortunately we did have to wait a while for our drinks and then also quite a while for our food. We were given for small pieces of bread and a tiny bowl of balsamic vinegar with olive oil with chickpeas and some veg all mixed in , it was tasty but very strong on the vinegar side. I would really like to go back to matteos and give them another try in the food department because I did see some meals that looked really good.

Picked up a large take out for my sister (birthday dinner for 6) and it ended up having 3 incorrect items (2 main dishes and the salad) were not as ordered. She called, spoke with whomever took her phone order and was told she would get a call back after speaking with the owner, NO ONE called back to rectify! Two kids and one adult went without their dinner!

Indoor seating was all reserved, were given the option of outdoor seating with heater lamps, made for a great atmosphere. As out-of-towners we were made to feel quite welcome and felt as though our satisfaction with our meals meant a lot to the staff. Matt (owner) ensured that we had a fantastic experience and even had to make a last minute trip across the road to make a Caesar despite me being willing to order a different drink! Food was 10/10 very clearly made to order, carbonara was creamy and delicious. Meanwhile my seafood dish was also fantastic. Recommended starter of baked stuffed prosciutto Was definitely a must have. Both service and food make this restaurant stand out. Can t wait to eat here again and try some of the other wonderful sounding dishes. Very happy with our experience at this restaurant.
