First time visiting - always looking for a good mom and pop family restaurant. Food was good, disappointed in service - waited over 30 mins for breakfast meal. Folks that came after us were served before us. A couple who was standing in line with us had finished their breakfast and left before we were served. To make up they did not charge us for our coffee and gave us free biscotti!!!! Really!!! When asked why we had to wait so long, we we told that there were large groups ahead of us - not true. The waitress then apologized several times for the mess up. As good as the food might have been, service is very important to us. My partner wanted to pay for our coffee which was the only thing we had been served at that time and leave. We will not return.

Not cool that its cash only, but dont worry , theres an ATM in the restaurant that makes your breakfast $3 more expensive with the service fee. Tough to go for a cheap breakfast when you dont have a wallet full of cash in your pocket.

Highly Recommended by a friend, my wife and I decided to give Benedict s a try for breakfast. I can confidently say GO THERE, YOU WON T BE DISAPPOINTED . I had the Eggs Benedict and my wife chose the Benny s Breakfast . OMG !!! Everything was very fresh and hot. Everything tasted exceptionally awesome. Service was polite and efficient!! Thank You!! The best eggsbenidict ever

Me and my partner tried Benedicts for the first time and we were blown away. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the restaurant was very clean and welcoming. Very home styled breakfast.

The lady who works here is as good as it gets. So sweet, attentive, and a good old fashioned beautiful person. It s been so long since we have received this type of service. She gave our kids bracelets that her granddaughter made as well as made hearts with whip cream on their pancakes. If we lived in Welland, we would be back for sure. It feels like home

My wife and I needed a quick breakfast as we had a busy day ahead. Benedicts delivered on this front. The food was hot, well portioned, and tasty. Unfortunately, it was just a shabby hole-in-the wall with a strong smell of bleach that killed my wifes appetite.

Stopped in based on great reviews. I ordered the breakfast burger that came with homemade home fries, it was delicious - tender juicy burger, loved the bun that they toasted, I like home fries with a little grease but husband said they were perfect. They have a buttery flavour and are freshly made. He had the fluffiest cheese omlette, nicely seasoned. The servers were very welcoming and not phoney, attentive and easy going. Very reasonable pricing and great options on menu with healthy choices. Will return for sure. BRING CASH, ATM inside.

Absolutely LOVE going to Benedict s for breakfast, or even lunch (they are open until 2pm). Always an exceptional experience here, no matter the day, the waitresses are amazing, the food is excellent, the atmosphere is cozy, it s just a great place to go. They have no problem fulfilling my request to have an egg-white only omelet, not sure what kinds of dietary restrictions they will/can accommodate, but that one I know they can. My child is treated like family, he is usually given some sort of colouring page which they will then put up on the wall at the end of our meal, and there have been times they went above and beyond and gave him something extra after our meal as well. The atmosphere is great, and the place is very clean as well. It is a smaller place so it tends to fill up fast, but it is absolutely worth the wait. Best breakfast diner in Welland, hands down. We (myself and my youngest child) visit weekly and its never a bad experience, they even call him by his first name which makes him feel like part of the family. Family owned and you can tell, it has a very homey feel to it. Vegetarian options: Their spinach and feta omelette is absolutely delicious!! They definitely have vegetarian options for breakfast foods as well. Parking: They have their own parking lot, but it is a gravel parking lot with no lines, and sometimes people dont quite understand how to park properly in those, but for the most part, it is easy to find a spot. There is also some street parking as well. Kid-friendliness: Always kids in here, theyre so accommodating and wonderful with kids, they always offer my son something like a choice of bracelet, a little treat after breakfast, etc. They also bring a picture to colour and then hang it on the wall when the kids are done. Wheelchair accessibility: This place is wheelchair accessable, it is all on one floor and there is no bump or any steps to get in to the building. The parking lot, however, is a gravel lot so it may be a bit harder to push a wheelchair through.

Best breakfast place in town!

We were in Welland and google searched best breakfast places. This place receives 4.6* so we decided to try it out. Wait staff, especially, the older Italian(maybe) lady was amazing. Great service, friendly, fast and efficient. The place is small, but clean and many locals dining there. So far so good, right? Well thats about all I can manage to say that is positive. Food was awful. They are known for the Eggs Benedicts which is my favourite to order when going out for breakfast. I dont eat meat, so I decided to order the ones with the baked beans. Now you would assume that this option would come with poached eggs, as its under their Eggs Benedicts options on the menu. Well, it was a hot mess. I asked the server to describe how the platter would come and it sounded interesting so I went with it. When I received it, it came with 1 mediore cooked egg. Tasteless, you can tell these are the cheap mass produced eggs. A huge portion of potatoes with a mass portion of tasteless baked beans on top. Hollandaise sauce on the side, as requested, and it was terrible. Too much acid in their sauce. So lets get back to the beans and potatoes, they had a sour taste, like the beans were off somehow. I didnt finish that portion, and only ate the fried egg that came with it. For some reason, if you are serving the Hollandaise sauce, that to me would indicate a poached egg should accompany it. I got home and had the worse ingestion from this food and I ate 1 egg between 1 slice of bread and paid $16++. My husband had the Big Breakfast. Average food and the french toast, eggs, potatoes, all lacked flavour and seasoning. His entree was $19++ There are so many other options, honestly, wed never go back because the food was terrible, honestly, real terrible. The only reason, this place was given a 2 star is for the wonderful service received. Aside from that....not worth going to. Food does not even warrant a star!

This place was amazing. We showed up with three hockey families while attending a tournament in Welland. We were seated promptly. The service was above and beyond. Friendly, accommodating, wonderful people. Not just tolerant of the kids, but made them feel comfortable and included. They left believing their pancakes would give them super powers to win their next game. The servings were generous and affordable. Food was delicious. We didn t feel rushed or pressured to tie things up. Coffee refills were plentiful. I can t say enough good things. Go here for a wonderful, homey breakfast experience.

We were in Welland for a hockey tournament and happened upon this gem! Ended up going back the next day with two hockey families and it was just as delicious and charming. Really lovely people run this place with the care and attention that is the hallmark of a classic family-run establishment. Really good portions and reasonably priced. Excellent high quality ingredients, and great service (even with some rambunctious kids). Highly recommend!

Great food great prices!

Fantastic experience at Benedict s this morning. In town for hockey tournament and the restaurant was located very close to the arena. What I ordered: 1 x Bennys Breakfast w/ Baked Beans What I liked: Service everyone is working hard to accommodate guests and take their orders. Quality I can complain about the breakfast at all, top notch. Homefries I typically order French fries but forgot to on this occasion and was presently surprised. Some breakfast spots undercook their homefries but that wasn t the case here. The only critique on the restaurant is they could keep a lot of heat inside the building in the winter if they built an enclosure outside the front door. It can be a bit cold inside for some people especially on a busy day of customer traffic. My only regret was that I didn t get the Egg s Benny which is famous for the homemade sauce. Maybe my sons team will play here next year and we can check it out!!

My family and I hadnt been to Benedicts for a few years since moving to Florida. I had done a review in 2017 and Im happy to say that this experience was just as good if not better! Since the 1950s my family had been repeat customers at another restaurant in the area, especially for breakfast and wanted to be nostalgic. However the other restaurant didnt open until 9am! Too late for us to eat breakfast; and we appreciated Benedicts was open at 7am. Its also a big deal that The Big Meal includes home fries & sausage (which is a must for me with pancakes!) which I believe years ago the competition Bushman Special included but doesnt anymore. Benedicts isnt too greasy either. I took the option of rye bread also included in the Big Meal, and the pancakes over the French Toast. The 2 pancakes were so fluffy and had the perfect taste & texture. My family and I are looking forward to enjoying another visit when we come back up in September. Please keep doing what your doing! If you havent tried Benedicts give them a visit for your next breakfast get together and you wont be disappointed. I would say they are definitely our new KING OF KING ST. breakfast destination!

My parents and I stopped in just after my Dads surgery. He thoroughly enjoyed his French toast and coffee, while my Mom had her eggs,bacon,toast and tomato. I myself enjoyed an omelet, toast and home fries. Coffees were very good, although I didnt find it too hot. Wil continue stopping in.

One of the best breakfast restaurants Ive been to. I go strictly for the eggs Benedict. Always cooked perfectly. The only thing I can really say is that for the price they are stingy with the peameal as well as regular bacon. Good coffee.

WARNING** Service is great, along with most of the food, but the Hollandaise sauce is mayonnaise, the look, smell, and texture. I personally dont like mayonnaise, so this was definitely a shock.

Ive been here several times over the past couple months. The food has always been great, the service is always reliable, and the atmosphere is great for a hole-in-the-wall breakfast joint. Its not a cheap spot (likely $12-16 pp if you have coffee), but the food and service are good, so its worth the price.

Stopped for breakfast and Benedicts immediately moved to the top of the kids favorite places weve eaten in list. The food was delicious, and the service was fast and friendly. The diner had a small-town feel, bright, open and welcoming. Our family of 6 would definitely go back given the chance.

I stopped here for breakfast and what a great experience it was. I ordered the eggs Benedict since the place was called Benedicts and wasnt disappointed. The waitress was such an amazing woman and handled the guests kindly during the busy rush. I had a great experience here and would recommend stopping in for breakfast if you can. Parking: Its a small parking lot next to the restaurant but we didnt have any issues finding a spot even though it was busy.

Service was amazing. You feel like family here and the atmosphere is close knit in a warm. I watched all the booths and tables get cleaned head to toe including sugar, salt, and pepper. This is a great place for Breakfast. The staff are super friendly. We have had the pleasure of meeting the owner and the two waitress are amazing.

As far as BREAKFAST goes its a little pricey but for good reason. The quality makes the price more than worth it. Also the price isnt outrageous, just a little above your average. It was easily the best breakfast Ive had in such a long time. I personally got the PLT which was killer along side the basic egg and homefries. The home fries were unreal and the scrambled eggs were perfect. My family got the Belgium waffle, french toast and bacon. All were absolutely amazing. The service was also good considering it was full at all times.

The food has always been great, I unfortunately have had some bad experiences with servers. I was explaining dietary restrictions as my friend is pregnant and the server continued to question me about where I read about the restrictions and they were not right and she rolled her eyes at me repeatedly. Very awkward experience.

What a hidden gem! Had a very substantial meal and my husband had the regular breakfast that satisfied his robust appetite. Owner, John filled us in on the history of the restaurant, started by his aunt over 40 years ago. Our server Sherry was super! Definitely stop on your travels for traditional quick meals.

I recall the place I used to go to 15-20 years ago when I was on the road it was someplace near Ontario Street in the old canal It was called Benedicts What a nice surprise , still there, still open as many good old restaurants arent. Peameal bacon and eggs,homefries, toast coffee hmmm Cooked just right,peameal bacon , home frys done on the grill, perfect. rye Rye bread toast, coffee. Nice people, good food. Cute historical vibe

Kid-friendliness: Our 18 month old absolutely loves it here! Weve been bringing him since he was o ly a couple months old. The staff are incredible with him and there is almost always another baby their to say hi to. They have high chairs and everything a kid needs.

Not offered a refill of coffee once during our one and only visit to this place. I m being generous with my two stars. We eat breakfast out a lot, never experienced this before. Stacked in Welland, or Pelham St diner in Fonthill are much better choices.

We tried this restaurant on Tuesday and it really was amazing great service amazing food, poached eggs were cooked medium perfect, the coffee was delious, so we decided a second visit to test there consistency, the following Monday we went back, new waitress and she told us new cooks, well terrible service and hard poached eggs terrible coffee was so bitter, we asked the waitress how could this be, she replied the owner doesn t treat her staff right so they quit. Thus new staff all the time. Hmmm not consistent this happens a lot restaurants have no consistency. So we won t be back

Visiting from Toronto and tried the chili cheese omelette that was on special today. SO DELICIOUS. Eggs are nice & fluffy with really yummy chili folded inside and melty cheese on top. Also the best diner style home fries I ve ever had. The staff was extremely friendly. Can t wait to go back next time I m in the area.

Came in last week with my boyfriend and children last week. Was greeted by the owner, she was so polite the kids loved her (even gave them unicorn stuffies upon leaving which they loved!! Our server was so friendly and efficent. Food arrived within minutes and tasted amazing! Will defiently be back!!!

Came to bennedicts with my children. The food was great. Staff was friendly and brought the food in a timely manner. The bennedicts were amazing and cooked perfectly. My children enjoyed their entire meal. At the end the sweet owner gave my kids a stuffed animal which they loved. Service was amazing will certainly be back

Had breakfast there with my sister, Stella. Staff very attentive and friendly. Breakfast came promptly and was delicious. I recommend anyone visiting Welland to put this on their must stop here agenda.

Service was excellent. Eggs Benny was very good. The hollandaise was the best I have tasted. Eggs cooked to perfection. Excellent fried potatoes. My one and only complaint is that the portion of peameal bacon was a bit on the skimpy side. Each of the two had a piece that only covered roughly 1/2 of the english muffin. Most places have bacon hanging off the sides. Still highly recommended but if you really like your bacon consider ordering and extra side of it.

NO FREE TAP WATER! This restaurant has a policy to provide no free tap water. The manager claims that the policy is due to Covid-19. However, no other restaurant that I have eaten at has a policy of not providing free tap water. Of course, the restaurant is willing to sell you bottled water. For some reason, it is okay to serve customers coffee and tea in mugs but not free tap water in glasses (or mugs). The policy makes no sense whatsoever other than the restaurant is too cheap to provide free tap water. There is no basis to say that the policy is based on Covid-19. Please note that the restaurant accepts only cash for payment. If the restaurant were serious about Covid-19, it would provide alternatives to cash such as debit or credit cards to avoid employees touching cash (which alternatives other restaurants I have eaten at provide). Notwithstanding the ludicrous policy of no free tap water, the food is delicious and the prices reasonable.

Awful. Im not sure if we just got really unlucky because the reviews are great but holy moly the eggs Benedict were pure rancid. The sauce was a white cream sauce but it tasted of heavy vinegar and it just turns in your mouth, made me sick, and we did not eat it. Im so disappointed with this. When the waitress asked us what was wrong we explained that the hollandaise was very sour and vinegary. She told us the sauce is not made with vinegar. Maybe it was really old sauce? Im not sure. Sadly wont be returning to find out. With a name like Benedict, youd expect a top notch benny. Also didnt love that it was cash only. Its 2022 guys, come on.

We were in Niagara Region and wanted to find a place for breakfast that wasnt in tourist country. We pointed at the map and landed on Benedicts. We were enthusiastically greeted when we walked in the door and treated like long lost family. Breakfast was good but the people who take care of you are magnificent. Who would think that breakfast would be so enjoyable.

For the most, the food is good. Sausage, bacon, eggs, homefries, omelettes... All good. But for a place called Benedicts, they have no idea how to make Eggs Benedict. I tried it a few years ago and remembered thinking the same thing and then just came here again with my brother. Basic Hollandaise sauce has three main ingredients: mostly egg yolk, lots of butter, and a little lemon. Here, they give you mayonnaise. Straight up, nothing added, mayonnaise. And that was exactly what happened years before. How a place called Benedicts, that say they make Eggs Benedict and eggs Florentine does NOT know how to make a basic Hollandaise sauce is completely beyond me. The stars are for the rest of the food and the service. Because those are decent. If I was rating on eggs Benedict alone, it would be zero stars.
