I was in a rush, couldn’t write the full review, but here it is: Ordered the poutine, large, but the salt in it was immense and over powering, could feel the salt in the back of my throat. However, the service was good. I asked the server about the saltiness, she just told me that it’s how they’re made. I said ok and she walked away without offering solutions then asked if I can at least get some more water. Later, I asked the server to if it’s possible for them to switch it for me, and she came back with another bowl of small poutine, because I ate some of it. I said that’s fine, I tried it and it was still way too salty. May be it’s the gravy? Appreciate that they only charged me once though. I can understand that restaurants don’t like taking back orders but if a customer genuinely has a concern, I feel like it should be addressed. Maybe I was expecting a “not a problem” kind of a response, instead of a “well, that’s how it is” or “no one has complained about it” Good place though and I will be back another time for sure.
We ordered several of the Greek items to our hotel room and the food was excellent. The tzaziki was nice and garlicky and didn't have dill in it, as many places do. And the Greek salad was tasty as well. Our dinner arrived on time and we had happy and full stomachs in no time. Would order again!
We were craving Gyros and Greek salads & decided to try out The Fireside Restaurant in Welland. While the restaurant is a bit outdated their food was fantastic! We would definitely recommend trying this place out! We’d previously used “Skip the dishes” for take out, but decided to go to the restaurant this time. Excellent food and service.
My son and I went there for dinner a couple weeks ago. I had chicken soulvaki and he had clubhouse special. We'll, it was the best dinner I've had in awhile. I'm still dreaming about the salad. I told my sister, we need to go for lunch. Terrific, I'll be back.
Had a party of 30 today at the Fireside for my dad's 90th. Tammy was easy to work with and accomadating. The food was very good and portions were generous. Good value and good food. Was a good experience and I would recommend and will be back for that lasagna. Thanks Fireside.
I recently held my wedding reception at Fireside Restaurant, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. They allowed us to decorate and even assisted with so many things! The ambiance was perfect for our special day, and the owners and staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. The food was absolutely delicious, with many guests complimenting the flavors and presentation of the restaurant. I highly recommend Fireside for any special occasions; they truly made our wedding unforgettable!! If anyone is curious the restaurant holds 90 people max. So it’s perfect for small scale weddings, and would even be an amazing place to throw a bridal or baby shower! Thank you so much again fireside for the amazing hospitality and kindness🥰
Not sure what happened this time. Food was always excellent on previous visits. Four different meals, four different problems. Fish and mashed potatoes...no coleslaw, no tartar sauce, no butter, no roll. Not even warm enough to melt the butter that had to be asked for. Fish very overcooked and dry. Hot turkey sandwich...not hot at all. Gravy had started to form a film on sandwich Chicken souvlaki...was supposed to be in a pita, but arrived with no pita. Had asked for no fries and perhaps extra salad instead. Was told that was not possible and would just have to do with no fries. Not offered any substitution for not wanting fries. Roast beef dinner...again cold. Roast beef so thin and dry that it was actually tough to cut. Service was decent, but low quality on the food will have us not returning. So sorry to see this Welland gem declining!
My family just ate a delicious pick up meal. The battered haddock and chicken fingers were very delicious, even the fries had a great taste and well salted. We even enjoyed the take out containers, layering the meat over the fries with wax paper between kept everything warm! We will definitely be back :)
I have only ever done takeout from Fireside but have always been so impressed! Their portions are so good for the price, definitely great value!

Heading for a weekend away, myself and two friends stumbled upon a hidden GEM of a restaurant in Welland. We stopped for lunch at The Fireside(Welland). A family restaurant with an eclectic menu ranging from Greek food, pasta, fish and chips, salads, and pub style, burgers and more! I had the fish and chips which came with a huge piece of fish on top of a bed of delicious french fries and a small side of coleslaw! Absolutely fantastic. The restaurant was clean, gave each table elbow room and space. The staff was fantastic, answering all our questions and when the food came it was hot, appealing and delicious.
Lovely waitress nice atmosphere the food was pretty good I had the chicken souvlaki it was kinda dry.
I had an absolutely amazing lunch with such great service. I went for lunch and was very pleased with how low my bill was, especially these days. They have a discounted lunch menu covering the most typical Greek fare. I recommend the hamburger. A great hand pressed burger. I will be back for dinner.
We put in an order for pickup and paid extra money for additional meat on the SIDE. We called to inquire if the order was missing. They told us that it was included in the wrap, which in fact is not a lot of meat for extra money. This is disappointing and we will not be coming back here or ordering from this place again.

Made a reservation last Saturday night for 5 of us. We ordered the gyro in a pita, 2 chicken souvlaki dinners, the mushroom mozzarella burger, and haddock and chips. Food was absolutely delicious. Portions are enormous. Service was impeccable. Enjoyed the atmosphere in the dining room, which was full that night. Will definitely be back. Thanks Fireside!

Ordered via Skipthe dishes..... one word DAMN! 5 stars across the board. Ordered chicken souvlaki wrap with fries, gyro and salad, and pasta kids meal. My chicken was amazing, and my husband was very impressed with his gyro. 100% recommend and will buy again.
Great service, food, friendly atmosphere & very reasonable prices. 6 people (4 adults & 2 kids, 11 & 8 yrs old), We ate like kings & queens & had drinks before we ordered, starters, wine w/dinner & 3 people had desert, 2 bread puddings & a coconut cream pie & we shared them. Outstanding time out for our family & only cost $255 incl taxes & $295 after I tipped generously as it was well deserved! We ll definitely be back again

My second time ordering from here. In both instances we ate before I could think of taking pictures. Previously we had fish and chips while this time it was chicken souvlaki dinner plus side order of fries. Both times the one meal fed both of us. Id favour the fish over souvlaki, but not by much. The fries could be crisper but I attribute that to being take out. Steaming in a container while you drive home will do that. Cant fault Fireside. Parking is ample and the server was friendly. Finally, pricing is very reasonable. Great value.

I love it here!! Every time I have a friend out of town come to Welland this is the first place I want to take them! The portions are awesome and the customer service is amazing too. All the waitresses are super friendly along with the owners. Come here if you want to support amazing people and have some great food!
It was an excellent experience all ways around! The food was great, the service was great, and we even got to chit chat with the owner. Went with my sister for lunch on a Saturday. The food was reasonably priced. Might make it a weekly thing. Give it a try, you will love it. Great menu selections as well! Great food, great service
The food was alright but there was a smokey BBQ taste on pasta dish and my partners burger and it drowned out the flavor Service was friendly but not very fast Food
I ordered from the Fireside for my wifes 60th birthday. We were not disappointed. The food was incredible and no one went home hungry with the huge portions. Everyone at the party raved about the food. I want to thank the cooks and staff at the Fireside for helping me make my wifes birthday special.

Fantastic place to dine, nice and quiet atmosphere, you can almost taste the care that the cook puts into the dishes. Had a gyro meal and it was a great experience. Prices are fair and we will certainly be coming back for more .

Best Greek food in Welland and in Niagara in my opinion, place has awesome lunch specials and great customer service! One of my favorite places to go and Tammy and her team are nice and very good at what they do!!! If you like Greek you have to check this place out will not be disappointed. It s a place that makes you feel good after! I would give this place 30 stars if I could. You get your value out of this place and then some! If you haven t eaten the Greek food here your missing out!!

Went for lunch with my son today. We have always ordered takeout from firesides but decided to dine in after so long. Chicken souvlaki pita with salad and fries = perfection. Couldn t have asked for better food or service. Charming staff and restaurant. I can t wait to go back.

Had dinner last Saturday at Fireside. The price & quality of the food we ordered were good as were the speed and attentiveness of the service. Our Greek salad, veggie souvlaki sandwich and pork souvlaki dinner were tasty and well prepared. The decor is a little dated which makes the restaurant feel like a diner so while its good for a family meal out, it might not be an ideal restaurant for a date.
They had stopped taking orders but was kind enough to still make a salad for me...Every time we go to welland we always stop for a salad fire side has the best Greek salad around worth the drive and great people that work there..ty again

We ordered a family chicken parmigiana last night it was an decent price for a family of four for dinner however the food was horrible half the noodles under cooked the chicken was a processed cutlet with a slice of cheese and the sauce was out of a can with no taste I could have made it better at home for less was greatly disappointed
We came in from out of town and decided to stop for lunch because of the reviews. The place was clean which is huge for me in making a food stop decision when traveling. We had greek pita lunch special and Greek full meal lunch special. They give you flavorful rice, excellent Greek salad and pita was super soft. The only thing I will say is for the Greek lunch special they didnt give alot of chicken so order more if ur looking for a full skewer amount. Otherwise great meal.
It sure is a popular place for locals. Felt like community hang. There was a constant line for take out and the place was hopping. We called ahead to make sure we could get a table. They advised us on the phone that part of the restaurant was hosting a private event. We arrived for a 6:30 reservation. The staff & kitchen was very busy. Our food was served at 7:15. I ordered a souvlaki plate which was very good. Its a big plate. A healthy portion. My husband ordered a Gyro with fries. And he raved about the french fries. But what we really went all this way for was the bread pudding. Someone on the Niagara Restaurants Facebook groups raved about it so we went to check it out. It was indeed delicious. However in our taste test of bread puddings in Niagara, so far it comes in #2. I should add its a casual place with a diner bar feel with a varied menu. Service was very friendly. And it is obvious that all the staff is really warmly liked by their patrons. It is great to see local businesses thrive. We enjoyed our visit.
Ordered subs yesterday. They give you plenty of meat and the sub sauce was very good but unfortunately the buns were very stale and hard to chew. Overall if the buns were fresh this would be a very good place to get subs.

I ordered take out and asked for rice with my chicken fingers and got soggy French fries instead??.. Apparently i will be checking my order to make sure its correct before leaving. Very unpleased.

We had souvlaki in a Pita dinners to go. The food was still hot when we got home 30 minutes away. Fresh ingredients, rice was flavourful and not too oily. Delicious pita and tender meats. We like this restaurant. I forgot to ask for extra tzatziki.
Bar food and it was alright. I would order again. The portions were good. But, a hamburger is a hamburger. The patty was a good size, so I didnt feel bamboozled. Yes tipping is good. So dont be cheap, keep the staff feeling appreciated. Fair is fair.

Ive been to the fireside twice since the new owners took over and both experiences have bern horrible. 1st time the Food has been unediable and the 2nd was over Thanksgiving the turkey dinner was awful. Wasnt worth the price thats for sure. I will never be going back.

We have been customers of Fireside for many years. Has not been the same since the new owners took over. Tonight the staff who answered the phone was so angry and rude from the moment I said hello. The conversation was not pleasant. We drove out of town to pick up the order. We got home and the order was wrong. I understand the price increase however the chicken pita size is significantly smaller. Sadly this is our last Fireside order. Service and food not worth the hassle.

Wow! Clean, fresh, tried almost everything, an absolute delight. My new best greek restaurant in Welland. Got mugged at Olympia. Took my $, Didnt even get my food. New owner at the O is sketchy, sketchy. Fireside is where u want to be. Parking: Perfect. Well lit, cozy, and no risk of muggin or beatings like on Lincoln st.
Ive tried gyros all over Niagara region and Ill have to say hands down the best. It is now the only thing I get from fireside but Ive tried many other dishes. The food is cooked from people who care and they make sure that order is delicious in my opinion. If you got a sweet tooth they have a bunch of pies. Lemon meringue coconut cream and others The wife gets annoyed because every time she asks what kind of takeout I want. I always say fire sides lol

I order the hot turkey sandwich and it was amazing. The portions are huge. I didnt end up eating the entire poutine because I was so full from the sandwich. I also ordered a slice of chocolate cream pie. And oh my was it delicious!!!! Might be the best one I have tried. Wish I ordered 2 slices. Will definitely order from here again.

Really really like the steak poutine, red and green peppers onions cooked till sweet and tender all mixed with steak. Then its all spread on top of a very generous helping of frys coverd in cheese and gravy. Its one of my favorites, my wife and kid have their favorites too.

Tried to adjust a skip order but restaurant was unable to do so. It was my fault, but dissapointed the order could not be adjusted. Food was great and staff was friendly on phone and did all they could to help but didnt work out. Just the way it goes sometimes. Still worthy of a 5/5.

I ordered the lunch special the other day, had the chicken souvlaki. Staff was very friendly and the food was real good. The tzatziki sauce is incredible, chicken was tender and flavourful, pita bread was heaven. This place knows food and does it well!

Ordered clubhouse and fries potatoe bacon soup and coconut cream pie for dessert. Asked for toasted with light mayo, we got warm bread with disgusting amount of mayo and very dark soggy fries which means dirty grease and we ordered when they opened so the fryers should have been fresh. We were excited about the soup,but it was very flavorless. The pie was great, but this place was a disappointing waste of time and money

Decided to try this place for lunch during fieldwork. I had the $10 lunch special of mini chicken souvlaki (with Greek salad and rice). The salad is the best Greek salad Ive ever had anywhere! Perfect flavors for the whole meal at a great price. Topped off with a wonderfully friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit if youre in Welland.

The coleslaw was disgusting. Smelled sour. Ordered a small fry with gravy, got the gravy but not the fries, when I spoke with them they said I wasnt billed for a small fry, so it should be all ok. DUH, what am I putting my gravy on now ? On a good note, the Greek Salad was good (with all 4 of the black olives) smh
