I went to the Rex in the dining room for a Christmas dinner it was so cold their pasta sauce is different not as good as before

Always love the rex, we only do takeout! Always friendly service at the pizza alley! Sometimes they put the wrong olives on but they make a new pizza without any hesitation and let us keep the one with the wrong toppings!

Delicious homemade food. Great atmosphere. Recommend the gnocchi with rose sauce, its to die for!

Fantastic Pizza and wings. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food immensely. Wait staff was a little slow taking our order but the food was ready quickly, so no loss in time.

A classic, both for Welland and Niagara. Some of the best Italian food around. Go for the wings and pizza. Take out works very well. I have been there over the years and the recent renovations are a great improvement, to an already amazing establishment. I highly recommend the gnocchi and veal-park pizza. Great value and a must stop if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed.

Ive been coming here for over 30 years, and they have been consistent and great this whole time. The food is spectacular, and the service is top-notch. I really miss the veal marsala, but in its place, its my new favourite, the briezza, and yes, it is as amazing as it sounds. Brie on pizza, whats not to love. Oh, and they have Italian fried ice cream!!!

The servers forget they work hourly like the rest of us, if I see you a total of 10 mins in 2 hours, you get 10%. I dont make tips and work a heck of a lot harder.

I ordered two party trays for my family, the pizza was decent it had potential to be really good however I found it was undercooked and super super greasy. The customer service on the other hand was just terrible. I won t come back because of Dawson. Food : 3/5

It is very old, stained chairs. Salads are good. Veal parm pizza eas good. Watching what other people order it looked like very generous portions.

My daughter & I chose The Rex on a recommendation & because it is a Welland landmark. The service was terrible. We got up & found our own menus. Took a long time to place our order & for the food to arrive. Our appetizer was served with our meal? They were out of garlic bread. What? The food was good but just good.

Was craving a nice pie so I scoured the internet and came upon The Rex. We live 25 minutes away but I was ready to make the drive. Outstanding service and quality of food. I was told the order would take 30 minutes and I arrived late, the gentleman at the pick up counter said they re still waiting on the wings it ll be 10 minutes, it s on the house don t worry about it. I was surprised, no restaurants do this anymore, I was adamant I can pay for the wings it s no problem and they assured me that I don t have to pay. On top of that they gave us some extra wings instead of the 10 ordered. Great customer service and a great pizza. I will definitely be back!

Love this spot . Tomato sauce. Tastes fresh and simple yet super flavourful. The history alone should be enough reason to check out. Friendly service staff enough to keep you coming back.

Excellent delivery place. They used RC and our food was hot, arrived quickly and the delivery person was very polite and kind and the food was very good.

Takeaway from Pizza Alley has a cool vibe, and _great_ food! Weve enjoyed everything weve tried, but the honey garlic wings and the Chicken Alfredo pizza are killer! Excellent pastas too.

A true Welland classic, for a reason. Pizza is the best when enjoyed in house. Has the feel of a Buffalo NY bar. The back room is excellent spot for events as well.(Back room is a nice event room- not a bar feel) I organized a 60th birthday party for my mum here a couple years ago. Bruno made sure everything was seamless. There was more than enough food for a party of 120. There was an excellent pizza buffet and antipasti platters that kept coming all night.

The Rex is a mainstay in Welland and a great choice for Italian food and pizza. We went to the Napoli room which at this time is open on Friday and Saturday. There is a bar area for all other times. Youll enjoy a great time to chat as they make fresh meals, McDonalds this aint! The dining room serves its purpose as it is clean and functional. As noted good food in a good old fashioned dining room is great value.

I would say that the rex might be the best place to get good food in Welland although ye Olde squire is also really good. I would say that if you are looking for some really good pizza and garlic bread this is the place.

I love the Rex. That being said, usually when I call to order something for pickup or delivery theres a 50/50 chance of them even writing the order down and making the food. And then theres a 50/50 chance if they do write it down and make it that they make the correct food. Love the food here but like I said 50/50 chance youre even going to get your food and its very expensive

I called ahead to see if the kitchen was still open. I was told it was. Once arriving, as soon as I walked in (Tacy I believe) immediately says the kitchen is closed. With extreme attitude and rudness, not hello or anything else but more of, we want to go home, your not welcome here. She might want to consider a different career option or a lesson in respect. I have been going there for aprox. 30 years. But i am going to go elsewhere from now on. So disgusted! She should be fired!

As far as Im concerned, the absolute champion of pizza in Niagara. I grew up in Welland, now live in St Kitts. THE PIZZA IN ST KITTS DOESNT COMPARE.

Great staff this Wednesday afternoon February 1 I ordered the spicy sausage sandwich and veal Parm Everything tasted great. Everything was still hot at pick up. My only feedback which I hope this is read is the sausage patties need to be cooked at a lower temperature for a bit longer. They were very crispy on the outside, Not sure if that was intentional or not.

First time here. Frustrated with trying to figure out where to go (do not go in the front doors!). I wish they wouldve told me on the phone when I placed my order for pick up which doors to actually go in and we werent the only ones (girl behind us had the same issue). As for the food ... Ordered a pepperoni and cheese tray. Thin crust, was ok. Sauce, too many herbs/spices. Cheese, not enough. Pepperoni, not enough and tasteless. I would say the taste of the sauce was overpowering with the lack of other ingredients and I would likely not order that again. I will give it one more chance and order the works but if that also fails I will never order from here again. I wish I took a pic of the pizza. I will next time. I will update at that time.

We were with a group for lunch. It was a good venue and the food was plentiful and good.

My hubby and I had an awesome dinner tonight at the Rex. Penne and broccoli and chicken parm on crusty bun. The food was very delicious and our server was just as awesome.

I got a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Great dough, sause, and cheese As for the mushrooms, they were from a can. I had always wanted to try their pizza and was very disappointed to find canned mushrooms. A bad choice for pizza or or any other occasion. A little overpriced for a shop that uses canned mushrooms.

Got the garlic bread to start, way overdone... so hard we can barely chew it. Hubby ordered the Rex burger w/ fries, said it was ok, but a little lacking on the meat I got the Chicken Parm on a Crusty bun w/ fries, other than the crusty bun being soggy it was good. The fries, Hubby liked, I did not, but that is a preference thing, I dont like skin on fries. And no ketchup on table. Not really sure wed come back or not

This is one of Wellands oldest hotels and serves the best pizza in town! Love going there and the price is always good! Parking: Lots of parking both to the side and rear of the building

Had a Greath 50th Anniversary there 2 weeks ago for our all Ontario Volleyball Champion Welland High Tigers the pizza and beer are still as good as 50 years ago

Give it a zero if i could. Really weird experience; walked in; waited several minutes; waitress came over and said they had no seats available. My husband said there s a table for two right behind us. The waitress said you could sit there if you want but I m not sure when anybody would be able to help you. Wait what? someone else came by and said we could sit at the bar. Then a different waitress came by and said there s no room at the bar. There was. We actually stood there, dumbfounded and turned around and left. Been going here for thirty years and guess what? Won t be going again. In my 57 years of being alive this has never happened to me - it was very, very bizarre. They also had a patio with tables set up in the parking lot that had every table available and at least three waitresses. Obviously don t need or want our business. No worries.

I usually enjoy coming here and I still do however this visit was really disappointing I ordered chicken wings like I always do but this time it was all dried out like it was saved and re fried

Visited at an extremely busy time ( no regular tables available) The servers allowed us to dine in the betting section. Service was understandably a bit slow but they did their best. Pizza delicious and my chicken fettuccine Alfredo was exquisite. Ill be back.

Family lunch in this very cool 100+ year old Tavern. Steeped in tradition and lots of memorabilia line the walls. The menu specializes in Pizza but offer sandwiches, burgers, and Dinners. I enjoyed large portion Chicken Parm and Pasta. Great sports bar with private rooms for parties.

pizza is bad. not enough toppings n really thin crust that somehow isnt even crispy. its got a decent taste but this pizza was reaaly lacking. lucianos is 3x as good

Occasionally the food is awesome. However I live next door and 1 lbs of wings takes 25 mins almost every time. Not to mention the foods only awesome OCCASIONALLY. The rest of the time its actually terrible. I got a pound of wings that smelt so rotten I threw them out. Not sure if Id have gotten sick but I assume so because it actual smelt like spoiled meat. Tonight I actually paid $10 for garlic bread giving them the benefit of the doubt to recieve a 2 slices with almost no cheese at all. I dont have a pic of the rotten wings but heres the garlic bread I spent $10 on

Pizza crust was so tough you couldnt eat it in places. Pizza had no real flavour. They accept cash only for delivery. $23 for 6 little dry slices. Totally disappointed.

Decided to have lunch at the rex today. Was not impressed with the service. I sat there empty for roughly 12 minutes until someone asked me if I wanted another pint. It took over 20 minutes for my wings to come . Normally I tip very well but today was a different story. Still great food

Ill start by apologizing to all those diehard Rex fans out there; I know theres many... unfortunately, Im just not one of them. My experiences over the last 20 years, have consistently been disappointing, and tonight was no exception. We arrived before the dinner rush, waitress was lovely, took our order quickly. My husband ordered a roast beef sandwich, and was told theyd run out so he ordered veal parm instead and I ordered chicken parm. Sandwiches arrived with burned french fries. The alfredo pasta we also ordered arrived in (soupy) alfredo sauce; worse, you could count the pasta pieces... there were so few. I had to split my sandwich with my son as the pasta was no where near what any restaurant should be serving whether for lunch or dinner. We also ordered a small pizza, which was average at best. Finally, we looked over at the next table, who were seated shortly after us, and happily dining on (lol) roast beef sandwiches! Then... we waited, and waited & waited for our waitress to return, but by then the place was hopping and her attentions were elsewhere... so my husband went over to the cashier (without a bill) to pay, so that we could leave. Chalk up another disappointing (dining) experience at the Rex. As a Wellender, Im all about supporting our communities business establishments, and, given this place is a Welland staple, I do try to be a good sport when its suggested we dine at the Rex, and honestly, I do go in with a positive attitude, thinking, this time itll be great... but it never is. It just doesnt fail to disappoint, each and every time.

First thing I do before eating at any restaurant is check the health inspection reports. According to Niagara public health inspection results the Rex has been none compliant for over a year. Food safety is not a concern or even a priority to the owners. After serving food in this community for over 100 years the owner of the Rex dynasty should be embarrassed and ashamed of himself.

One of the few places I will eat Italian food. Pizza is the best in Welland even though I find they will undercook it for take out alot, so ask for a well done pie.

We ordered pizza, and the only reason i didnt give 5 was because it was a little tricky to find the right entrance (as a first timer!). Now that we know wherevto go, it will be piece of cake! The gentleman we met while picking up our order was so friendly. The pizza was the greatest ever!!! We will definitely be back!! Vegetarian options: We ordered pizza, it is easy to make pizza vegetarian! Parking: Therebis a large parking lot, with extra spaces behind the building.

Waitress was very confused which is why we didnt say anything. My potatoe skins were very sparce and for some reason had diced tomatoes on it but not the onions the menu said. Everyones fries were cold. My sons chicken sandwich was also cold and my friends chicken and pasta was very sad looking. Piece of dry chicken dropped on a plate with spaghetti and sauce. The garlic bread was cold and not even toasted. My wifes gnocchi was good and she enjoyed the escargot.

My favorite pizza in Welland, but I cant give you 5 stars if you dont answer your phone, especially when its 2022 and I cant order online and youve got one guy answering the phones. If youre that busy that the line is unavailable for hours due to incoming calls, you can spring for a real website that does online orders.
