I was so excited to eat here, as I have heard endlessly about the Drake from everyone who visits PEC. It did not disappoint! You truly can t beat the patio views. It s a beautiful spot to enjoy a sunny brunch by the water. The undisputed highlight of our brunch was the warm blueberry scones to share, DO NOT SKIP THESE!! The service staff were definitely busy, but they were very accommodating when we needed to move to the dining room thanks to some really persistent wasps. The eggs benny was just fine, I enjoyed it much more with some hot sauce. I still highly recommend a stop here for brunch. I repeat, order the blueberry scones!

Restaurant and views were great. Food took a while but that s okay as we were a big group. Only issue was the cheese was spoiled and a couple of us ordered the same plate. It would ve been decent of your hotel to at least remove the plates that were spoiled off the bill to make up for our currently upset stomaches.

We went for brunch, the service was terrible! Took forever to even bring coffee and one of the waiters practically dropped side plate. But the food was delicious

I had breakfast at this restaurant in August 2023 and it was hands down the best brunch I ever had. The French toast was the best ever and the chantilly cream it came with was absolutely divine. I will definitely return and highly recommend if youre in PEC!!!

The worst. We were celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary so made reservations, requesting a window set with a view. They put us on bench seats in the corner over looking other tables. The curtains were closed and rather than sit across from my wife, I was looking down a table of the group next to us eating, and my wife was doing the same. We ask to be moved as there were only three other tables in use. And were told they could not accommodate us. This is a quote from an email I recieved from the Drake who sent us the picture: Please see the below photos of the table that wed arranged for your dinner. As I said, this is the most requested seat in the house and given that it was a special occasion, is why we assigned this seat to you. This fellow Scott later called me to tell me not to Bash his restaurant. Ill let the reader decide if this is where youd take your wife for your 50th.

Not gluten/celiac friendly. I could only have a salad, poached chicken or charred octopus. My friend (not celiac) ordered a streak and it came with no sides, only the streak.

This was my canteen for 4 years while I built my house. Food was always good. Recent breakfast visits were also very good - loved the French toast and sausages - although oj not fresh as advertised. But my recent dinner visit was quite the disappointment - a rack of lamb for $54 had ... 3 ribs? Thats called a half rack. Also, need to step-up their wine by the glass game.

Love the view of the lake. Dont use tea pots but instead brew tea in a 4 oz cup. Not sure I should pay 5 dollars for that. They were busy so maybe teapots were in dishwasher???

We had a poor experience secondary to service and I would not have faith in the management here to be able to maintain their professionalism if their day is not going to plan. We attended for my wifes 40th birthday and she had to leave secondary to the negative vibe we got from the management when I raised the issue with our bill (details below). It was a scenario where we shouldve just received a genuine apology instead of an atmosphere of stop complaining, Ive given you what you want, I have other customers now. It was clear from the mangers expression after I discussed this that they realize they could have done better and they had our contacts to e-mail or call an apology - they did not. Management at a 5 star hotel should be able to maintain their composure if they are having a bad day with their staff - directing that at guests with micro-aggressions or not being receptive to their concerns is not acceptable. If I was being rude to your staff or you, please do not let the client be a bully (and full points to you if you can handle it with great grace). This was a circumstance where I sought a quiet word AFTER I had paid the bill and was not met with a reasonable air of professionalism. ------ The great: The food quality (when prepared correctly) The view/setting Food variety (I felt there was something for everyone) The good: Price point (and value relative to portion size etc.) on the Countylicious menu was superb The minor bad: Parking was tricky (theres ?3? spots for non-hotel guests + 2 accessible) Drip coffee not refilled Food service slow when one large party put their order in prior Charged a no-show fee when we werent checked into our reservation Compd food secondary to error was not actually compd ($30 lunch fee was reimbursed, but then we were charged a $14 and $16 fee) Significant bad: Food served fridge cold with hot egg on top (i.e., no waiter service check before delivery) Response by management when bill processed incorrectly - we were put on the defensive, we were told that we didnt check into our reservation, and I had to review the receipt line-by-line twice to convince a hostile manager Food and drinks: Delicious

We didnt stay here. We came for brunch. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the view was wonderful. A touch on the pricey side but the service and view warranted it. 100% would eat here again!

The Drake Devonshire in Wellington, ON, is such a special place. The property is absolutely stunning, with gorgeous views of the lake and thoughtful amenities like a sauna, a firepit, and cozy spaces to relax whether it s by the fire or enjoying a game of ping pong. The attention to detail throughout is unmatched, from the high-quality shampoo and hand soap to the slippers and the charming cards with literary quotes in the rooms. The onsite restaurant is fantastic, with incredible views of the lake and delicious food. Highly recommend the blueberry scones they were unforgettable! The staff were all so friendly and attentive, making the entire experience feel welcoming and seamless. If you re looking for a getaway that combines charm, comfort, and luxury, the Drake Devonshire is a must-visit.

Rooms - excellent, Food and service at the restaurant (for breakfast): excellent ! Only issue was that I planned to stay here because they have 2 Electric Vehicle chargers. But they will not turn on the chargers until 8:30pm for overnight charging. This is a ridiculous policy. Went back at 8:30pm, one charger was free, but it would not charge my model Y Tesla. Had to drive all the way to Trenton to use a Tesla Supercharger. Very very disappointing.

I hosted an event at the Drake and was blown away with the service and quality of drinks and food. Everything I ate and drank was delicious. My salad weirdly enough was one of the best things Ive ever ate. I would 100% host another event here. I couldnt have asked for a better time. They handled all of the set up, tear down and were right on top of our every need. From asking for eisels to display artwork, to bossy guests, to audio help - the team at the Drake were on top of it - and usually with a smile. Special shoutout to Damien and Paloma who were extremely accomodating and lovely the whole time. Sam in helping us plan and Keegan in pouring our drinks and being delightful. Overall highly recommend. The small touches and quirky artwork brought about discussion and fun.

Cleanliness of my room leaves something to be desired for the price paid. The chair was stained, the walls also had stains as well as the floor. The motel location is at the back of a courtyard. On the other hand, the view from the restaurant is splendid and the food acceptable.

Quite surprised by the hype around this hotel. The room was ok but nothing crazy, the garden and the river around the hotel minuscule, the access off a drugstore parking lot, the private beach just a small band limited to the width of the building. Nice view on the lake from the terrace but overally not worth the price. Food and drinks: Nice mexican restaurant nearby

Great location, but not so great food. I ve had one of the worst steak ever. The center of the steak was so raw that it can t be chewed. I did get another plate of the steak after talking to the server, but it got the same problem. Service was good though.

Charming and clever Art Boutique hotel on the shores of the lake. Very nice decor and lots of games for kids and adults to play. There are loungers and a sauna overlooking the lake. I had some minor power issues with my room that were taken seriously, although not resolved completely.

Dinner was lovely and so was the incomparable Lake Ontario sunset.

We stopped by for brunch today and the visit started off weird. I checked their reservation website 7 Rooms in the morning, and the restaurant was fully open for the afternoon so we just showed up - but then the front of the house staff informed us the wait is 30-40 mins long. So I pulled up the fully open reservation page and showed her and she didnt really explain why its showing fully available. So I made a reservation using 7 Rooms 30 mins later and we went back and we were seated right away. However my friend also left her # with the hostess and got a text 10-13 mins later that the table is available. Anyway, someone was off their game. Food & serving staff were excellent - highly recommend chicken & waffles

Went for Sunday Brunch and had a great time. The food was excellent and our server Jack was very attentive.

I cannot stress what a wonderful experience we had this weekend! From the room...the service.(special shout out to CC and Natashia)...the food...staff....the location... You must put this on your list! We stayed at the Drake Motor Inn and I highly recommend you choose a room here. The staff are a text away from any assistance you may need. So close to Picton and many wineries! We cannot wait to return! Rooms: So eclectic! Super clean and private! Nearby activities: So close to Picton and many wineries. On-site are pickle courts ....sauna...ping pong tables.. ..outdoor games....loungers by the lake.... Walkability: Many stores and cafes within walking distance Food and drinks: Happy Hour 3 to 5 Charcuterie boards are to die for We had the steak....shrimp and duck wings

This dining room truly is the most breathtaking space it made for two perfect evenings looking out over the lake. Our server Kiki was so attentive, and clearly wanted to make sure we d have the best evening, which we did. Killer menu too. Hats off to the whole team and thank you so much.

I just had to leave a review on my experience yesterday evening for the thanksgiving turkey dinner event at the drake dinning room. I ve eaten at the drake many times and this turkey dinner special was the best meal I ve ever had at the hotel. It was so delicious! I salute the kitchen staff on such a great meal

Went for dinner with friends. The waiter was friendly and the food was great. We went back for brunch the next day and it was very busy but still delicious. Very beautiful holiday date decors on the Lake Ontario Modern Kitchen Very nice wine list, very good service The only downside is that they have to review the base of the cocktails with their bartender because I had asked for a straight up Margarita and I received on the rocks which means that I was not able to enjoy my cocktails since the ice causes too much dilution. when he was already shaken Otherwise the maître d likes his work and it shows!

The staff are incredibly rude/unaccommodating and food/drinks were mediocre. It took over 30 mins to prepare our food and portions were small. Food can be overlooked but service staff and the big lady seating people were rude/unprofessional. Would not recommend unless you want your experience to PEC ruined!! Food and drinks: Terrible

Beautiful view of the lake, tasty dishes but more expensive. Excellent service at dinner. We took the cheese platter as a starter to share and the octopus and fish and chips as main courses.

Really nice restaurant and patio

Appalling restaurant service. Waited 30 minutes before inquiring about my pasta, only to be told my order was never sent to the kitchen. When it finally did arrive, it was undercooked. My water remained empty for most of my dinner. When I then asked for the bill, the male waiter said yes and then proceeded to make rounds-take other people s orders, refill waters, bring out bills, despite being aware of the situation with my order being delayed by almost an hour. I paid $45 for undercooked pasta with 2 tiny pieces of actual lobster in it, while enduring The worst service I ve seen in quite some time. No attempt was made to rectify the situation, like offering me a discount or dessert on the house. Do not recommend this place. I m actually horrified.

Popped in to see what the fuss was all about after a day at a nearby beach and the bar:restaurant did not disappoint. Me and my wife sat on the patio outdoors and enjoyed a nice meal all while listening to the sound of the waves. Was definitely worth it. Will definitely stay here in the near future! Went for my friend s birthday for dinner, had an amazing time, the view of the sunset is incredible. We literally took a thousand pictures lol. I had the fried shrimps as appetizer and they were very good, as well as the Drake burger that was excellent as well. I recommend at 100%

Drake Devonshire in Wellington definitely delivered on the food - it was amazing! But honestly, the highlight of the night was the DJ. He absolutely nailed the vibe, creating the perfect atmosphere to complement the delicious meal.

What a cozy place for a romantic dinner. Love it, food was well prepared excellent taste. Server was very polite, humble and knowledgeable. We tried Herb Crusted Halibut and 8oz Steak Frites dishes and they were very delicious. Can t wait to come back.

Dinner at the Drake Devonshire Inn was delicious! We were lucky enough to sit on their patio, which allowed us to soak in the most beautiful sunset. Overall, service was great and I will definitely be going back.

Absolutely blown away by my recent stay at the Drake Devonshire! While my experience didnt start off perfectly there was a hiccup with my reservation it ended up being one of the best hotel stays, thanks to the exceptional team. Upon arrival, I discovered a mix-up with my room, which could have been a stressful start to the trip. But the staff handled the situation with such professionalism and care that it quickly turned around. Special shout-out to Scott, Saurav and Chelsea who all really made the extra effort. The hotel took control of the situation and reassured me that theyd make it right as soon as possible. Management went the extra mile and upgraded my room. The attention to detail was incredible, from small touches in the room like free cookies, and a personalized note to recommending the best spots to visit in Wellington. The rest of the stay was pure magic, I enjoyed dinner and breakfast at their restaurant and enjoyed the stunning view of the lake. The views, the decor, the food it all came together to create an unforgettable experience. Thanks to the incredible team and their top-notch service, I truly felt valued as a guest. Theres no better place to stay while visiting Wellington in my opinion. Rooms: George, artistic rooms with special and unique touches. Nearby activities: Beaches, restaurants and shopping. Walkability: Its situated in the middle of town so everything can be accessed by foot. Food and drinks: wonderful selection of wines, live music, great breakfast and dinner alongside a view of the lake! Noteworthy details: They have a sauna, ping pong tables and many moreactivites for guests.

We went to eat on the terrace with our two children on September 8. The place is magnificent on the waters edge, its perfect with children while waiting for the meal. The cocktails were delicious, but most of the dishes pretty ordinary. It was good, but the quality of restaurants in Montreal for similar prices is frankly superior. The lobster pasta was just okay, the octopus a little rubbery. The peach and tomato burrata was delicious, and the tataki quite good. The popcorn shrimp were breaded perfectly, not too heavily. What took away our appetite, however, was the little musty foam that sat on the crust of the milk bread, in the little crack in the center of the loaf... After sending the dish back, it was quite ordinary not to see our server apologize. But anyway, lets move on, we wont go back there again, lets just say that it made us question the freshness of the food in this place.

Went to Drake for brunch last week of August I hadnt been in a long time. I forgot how beautiful it was on patio. The experience was so great I wanted to do it one more time while weather was still nice for Sept. Noticed this time patio bench seat very dirty along with windows. Service was slow, a bee flew into OJ so we asked for another, thexattitudecwas a vacant stare and not a word didnt look at my bill that close but final price convincedme i was charged for the other oj. Bees were bad this time!The server seemed not very interested in much follow up with table. I find the price point was fair for the brunch that I had at 20$ per. It was cooked perfectly for me, my partner thought portions were small and service lacking! My real disappointment was Last time my first choice of gratuity was 15 % this time it was 25% !! She came out with machine then said oh I gotta fix this went away for a long time came back and now my choice of tip is 25% Im 100% convinced she went in to change amount on machine. I should have done or said something at the time but the more I thought sbout the experience the more ticked I became about it. Way to gouge your local patrons who try to talk up this establishment and take friends. Funny thing i was going to cash tip as I actually had cash this time but I thought Id keep cash because it was 15% last time and I thought that was fair. 25% is not fair!!!!!!!! Be warned!!

The vibe is relaxed and cozy, making it a perfect spot for a laid-back meal. The view of the lake is a nice bonus, especially around sunset.

I would say, this is an extremely nice place to visit. The rooms are nice adorned and spacious but be warned the views are generally terrible (we had a room over looking air con units!). But I do want to warn you that if you book based on a promotion, then you are bound to be disappointed. We booked based on their Aeroplan promotion offering bonus miles. After 2 months, several phone calls and the run-around from their front desk, weve given up. I doubt well go back given the price point but overall we enjoyed ourselves. The restaurant is excellent and were extremely accommodating for our two-year old!

Beautiful spot located right beside the water! Ordered a few drinks and oysters! The oysters were reasonably priced and tasted fresh - the cocktails were a bit pricey but super unique and flavourful! Would definetly come back!

Our meal was disappointing. But what was more disappointing was to receive an email after we posted a review saying management would reach out to discuss and never hearing from them again.

Went for a quick brunch with my partner. The total for a small charcuterie board for two, a couple of tiny scones, and a coffee came to $64.49 CAD, which feels steep for mid food. The main draw of this place is the dining area by the waterfront, but it was just okay nothing spectacular. The space itself looked unkempt and felt outdated. The server s attitude wasn t much better, as it seemed like she was eager for us to leave. Overall, 2/5 stars. Won t be coming back. Bye, Felicia.

We came on a weekend for brunch. The location was great and the view was stunning! I ordered the big salad and it was delicious. Ingredients were fresh, the dress was plenty and everything was delicious. The only downside was how slow service was. Our server didnt come back to check in on us, tea we ordered was served warm and not hot, and other tables that got seated later than us somehow got their meals first. Not a fan of the service team but the meal was great!

At 4.50pm we ordered cheese board which by some weird reason could be served only from 5pm.... anyway 5.20 we asked for the bill and canceled our order as we were done with drinks. not a big deal but if you charge clients this price rag i guess service should be appropriate

Hotel, stay, and staff was great. The food was delicious as were the drinks and views. My only complaint was that we paid a hefty price tag to stay across the street which wasn t made aware to us when booking. If you book this hotel make sure you re made aware which hotel you re paying and staying at. The motor inn is across the street

I wish I had more positive things to say about my visit here, unfortunately it was a total letdown. As a Drake franchise lover (Drake hotel was my weekend go-to over the last 15 years), I had high hopes for the Devonshire. We came for happy hour - none of the staff knew about the happy hour, even after showing them multiple social media posts on the happy hour, they just shrugged and said we have so many events we cant keep up. We stayed for the view (which is beautiful). I got an iced oat matcha latte that tasted like water and was 75% ice (see photo), my friends got cocktails that were also watered down. Despite it being pretty empty, our server never came back to ask us if we wanted another drink or food or if we wanted our bill. The space is beautiful, Im hopeful the food is good - but the drinks and service was disappointing. For the price, id def skip it, theres a lot of other great spots in PEC like The Royal or Bocado. We went here on our Honeymoon. So to begin with our expectations were high . This is relevant as I will explain. Website is not crystal clear on what exactly you are booking . Looking at it now it seems straightforward in hindsight . There is the main building...pretty well most photos you see, restaurant , lobby, rooms upstairs, beach etc Then there is the Motel . The motel is not far but its a block and half away across the main street of the town to get to. Its a nice art deco motel, but a motel nonetheless . I parked my vehicle in front of my door...yup a motel (The room is very nice though, very big, King Size Bed, full shower and nice living space overall.) So when we booked we just assumed we were booking at the main building . We were mistaken ! The Drake Devonshire is the really the spot to be. The Drake Motor Inn is down the road . When you check in you go to the main building...the Devonshire . My point is we spent over $1600 for three nights for a fancy motel room. (The couple in the room right beside us made the same mistake but at least figure it out the night before they arrived .) When we realized this we were really disappointed . We had just driven over 5 hours in traffic and construction so driving back was not really option. We were close to cancelling though on the spot and leaving. Major disappointment . So why am I giving this place a 4 Star not a 2 or 3 ? Because of what transpired after the initial let down. The manager spoke with us , said he would give a Full refund no penalty and anything including somewhere else close by they would help. Front desk staff were excellent too. The Staff overall with one or two exceptions were first rate everywhere . So kudos to them. The restaurant inside has great vibe, great service, great food , beautiful view . Little things too that really enhanced the trip. Coffee in the morning in the small little quaint room off from front desk along with fresh croissants . Fresh chocolate chip cookies in our room. Afternoon tea in a cup to take outside by the water, no charge . Front Desk booked two days at Sandbanks and provided Parks Canada Pass . For me this place gets a 4.0 rating is really my mark ...just cant give 5 stars because over $1600 to stay in a nice motel room not on the main site....We would not have booked. For that price book a Fairmount, Manoir Richelieu , 5 Star Hotel , beautiful . Having said all this . We will be going back booking MAIN building ( Devonshire ) probably not high season as its way too pricey. Nice on the water, nice little side stream with outdoor sauna we used along with ping pong table and some other games . Great area too, beautiful homes and countryside . Once again kudos to staff . In the end we a really nice honeymoon :)

I came here for brunch and loved it so much I had to come back for evening drinks. Perfect location, vibes, food, and drinks.

Restaurant review only, did not stay at hotel. Restaurant has very nice decor and is generally overstaffed. However the level of service is quite low. +20 mins for the table to be acknowledged. +20 mins to receive bill, and the bill was completely wrong and had to be redone 3 times. We ended up actually billing ourselves. Food was generally flat and too salty and cocktails were expensive and lacklustre.

This review is regarding the restaurant only. The food service was slow. We waited nearly 1.5 hours for our mains. The kitchen seamed slammed after a brunch rush but we weren t notified by our waitress until after we inquired. The manager did speak to us but was a little curt after we pointed out that another couple who sat down ahead of us already received their food. The explanation was that we had already gotten our oyster apps so we moved to the back of the line? After we stated that we would pay and leave if the mains didn t arrive after 5 mins we were told if you leave or stay the food won t come any faster . Food was good just took forever.

The dishes are expensive, but the view and atmosphere are worth it!

Review for restaurant only. We had a reservation booked for a group of 6 and were so excited to try out this popular spot. Unfortunately we waited over an hour for our meals to be served. The fruit dish was also served with mouldy fruit. The bills were completely mixed up when brought to the table.

The price must come mainly from the waterfront location which is accessible during the stay, otherwise an exorbitant price including no meals or lunch apart from coffee and tiny croissants which disappear within minutes. The rooms are small and vintage . This can be very disappointing if you dont plan to take advantage of the location. No view from the room either.

Food and drinks: We went to the restaurant for dinner. Beautiful view from the patio. They dont take reservations for the patio, but when we got there around 5pm we were seated right away. Food was good. We did not stay at the hotel. For the restaurant theres parking located a block away or on the street. Service

We only had dinner at the restaurant. It s a family-friendly place, with a superb view of Lake Ontario. A singer was playing live music right on the beach, with the sunset, it was really a perfect atmosphere! Food and drinks: The portions are very small for the price. We ordered the Caesar salad ($19) and the trout salad ($22), and they were more starter than main meal formats. That said, the atmosphere made up for the food

Go for the drinks and view, NOT the food. Worst chicken dish I ever had. Completely flavourless, the green pea sauce just tasted like sugar and chicken was also undercooked

Came to enjoy a lovely birthday afternoon after having a great experience months prior. This experience was quite the opposite my mother tripped on open electrical in the middle of the floor next to our table to start. We advised wait staff of this and all seemed well. We then moved tables to a nicer view and waited a long time for service while girls were standing right next to us, so we had to ASK for service. Strike two. The third strike comes from our food. 3/4 of the meals arrived to our table any high class dining knows you bring out all plates at the same time. So now we waited for the fourth plate while our food got cold. The steak frites was nothing to write home about. The straw that broke the camels back however was being asked to complete a survey the next day, which I did so honestly. Almost immediately I received an email back from the manager apologizing and advising they would look into this . Well it s been almost 2 weeks now and the manager has GHOSTED me? Save your money and go somewhere where you will be treated with proper service at the price point this place wants to charge.

Restaurant review only. Overpriced dry burger took 40min to receive on a friday at 2pm. Seems like they are understaffed. With these prices they should have experienced servers. One extra star for the view.

Restaurant: Sat at our table for 15 minutes with no acknowledgement, no water, no service. A server stood right in front of us to check on another table without so much as a hello or someone will be right with you. We walked out and went to the brewery down the street for much warmer service and more reasonable prices. Glad we did! Judging from recent reviews, theyre having pretty serious front of the house issues.

We came here just for weekend brunch. Made a last minute reservation but probably didnt need to as there was sufficient seating. However, when we arrived, we decided to sit on the patio, and it was a great atmosphere with even better views. But it was incredibly windy and the tarps covering the patio area were swinging wildly. We even noticed a fallen nut from the brackets or something above. The server never asked us if we were okay to stay seated there, we (and the couple beside us, and another group eventually) had to ask her to be seated indoors instead, since we didnt feel safe. As we got up from our seats, two gentlemen started taking down the tarps and whatnot (which they should have done from before). We were allowed to pick any free table inside and the views were just as good, with full length windows all around. The server also later jokingly commented that the tarps would probably have fallen on us. There were also metal objects up there and we definitely could have been injured so I did not appreciate that. Aside from this lack of judgment and care for their customers, the rest of the meal was decent. I ordered a lobster roll which was delicious if not a little overpriced with subpar fries. And my husband ordered a Cuban sandwich that was pretty basic and overpriced as well. We also got a white sangria which was strong but tasty and a rum and gingerale. The price for everything was about $120 including tax and tip. Im really not sure if I would return. Maybe just for the beach area on a nice day. Also, there is barely any parking but the parking attendant was very helpful in finding a spot for us. Food and drinks: The brunch menu was mostly overpriced with smaller portions and just okay flavour. Drinks were good. Might return to try the dinner menu.

Octopus was crunchy or chewy. After receiving the meal nobody came back. So I can not ask for a better meal and water. My wife took chicken after the staff told her its was the best. But it was really dry. The sides were pretty good. Octopus plate is entry size. (I took 3 little bites on the picture) Go to the condesa for the Octopus. Its cheaper, better, and bigger. You go to this place for the view....but windows have not been clean for a long time :( The price is really high if it was good, but out of this world for something not good. And they made you pay 20% for gratuity. Dont go to this place. At least I didnt pay for what I didnt eat.

Visited October 2023. Absolutely beautiful views practically anywhere you sit indoors or outdoors at this restaurant on Lake Ontario. The food is top notch- more pricey for sure but you are getting what you pay for. It s more upscale dinning in a smart-casual setting.

We only went for dinner. Most of the dishes ordered were good, but the prices were very expensive for what they delivered. Salty bill even without alcohol. The view of the lake is magnificent. It feels like youre directly in the lake. The terrace gives access to the beach, we finished our drinks there. The service was extremely fast, even too fast, giving the impression that we had to quickly give up our place. If you go there for the place, Go, If you go there for the food, downside for the price

The only good points about our visit were the view and the fact that our group of 8, with two separate reservations, was allowed to sit together. Unfortunately, the service was far from satisfactory. Our server never once asked if we were okay, and their tone throughout the service was rude and unwelcoming. We weren t asked if we wanted our bills split, and when we inquired about it, the response was brash and dismissive. The overall attitude was unsympathetic and lacked basic customer service. The food was just okay, nothing special. What really left a bad taste in our mouths was the lack of any acknowledgment when we left no goodbye or thank you. After this poor experience, we decided to speak with the manager, only to be told that we should have mentioned our concerns earlier, and now there was nothing they could do. We came from out of town and this visit was a big letdown. I wouldn t recommend this place based on our experience.

My recent visit to this restaurant was a major disappointment. From the moment we sat down, the service was horrible. Our waiter didnt even bother to greet us, which set a negative tone for the entire experience. Throughout the meal, the waiter s attitude was off-putting and unprofessional. Once our meals arrived, we didn t see the waiter again no check-ins to see if everything was okay or if we needed anything else. It felt like we were completely ignored. As for the food, I ordered the BLT. It was just okay, but definitely not worth the high price. The sandwich was average at best, lacking the flavor and quality I would expect for the cost. Overall, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The combination of poor service, mediocre food, and high prices means I won t be returning. There are plenty of other places that know how to treat their customers better and offer better value for money.

A beautiful, soulless image. Beautiful for Pinterest but nothing more. What you need to know is that its all in the picture but dont expect anything else. We stayed two nights at Drakedevonshire, give it its due, we were seduced by the enchanting place and sought to make the most of the place. Now lets move on to the frustration of our stay. We ate at the restaurant twice, expect endless and annoying service. You will have to ask for everything for service to go as far as having glasses of water or a coffee stove. If your glass of drink is empty you wont be asked if you would like anything else. As for the cocktails, I price a mule which is sold to you at the price of a drink prepared by a mixologist in a reputable establishment, so the preparation is more comparable to that in an all-inclusive establishment in the south. (ready and tasteless). A regular vodka, with a regular lime soda and proportions beyond measure. (forget any refined herb blend that could make this cocktail) $16 So dont expect any experience that is worth the price tag. The food is good but nothing more. We found a much better experience at La Condesa just a few steps from the hotel for a fraction of the price. (+- 1/3) That being said, know that you can have service in Drakedevonshire. Indeed, the red carpet was set for a group of influencers who visited the establishment. The air from the beach and the campfires was closed to give them exclusivity. So even if you pay full price, you might not get the full experience. Even with all the politeness in the world it is frustrating to be kicked out of the campfire (when you have waited 1 hour for a place to become available, to leave the place to a third party) Q: should we reserve a time slot for the lights? A: No, its not possible but tonight its like this... We have influencers. Perhaps this is why the smore kit was not given to us with the room. (as advertised in inclusions) We will sell you the room on the creek side for its tranquility. However, be aware that if influencers visit the place, a head table could be set up under your window and you could be woken up by their morning festivity. So you will discover that there are two types of service in Drakedevonshire. Despite the Drakedevonshire VIP price ($650) you will see that you are not special with them. During our stay in Ontario we stayed at the Château Laurier Ottawa ($350) and the 1hotel in Toronto ($600). These two establishments are all equally beautiful, less expensive and with impeccable services that match the asking prices, the restaurants of these hotels also live up to expectations and at prices comparable to Devonshire. Compare renowned establishments you will be served light years away in Drakedevonshire. At the asking price, there is no need to neglect the details of the service. Finally when we left we politely expressed our dissatisfaction to reception. The hostess was sorry to follow up with the manager. Half confess, forgive me, you might say. Imagine that the establishment did not have the pride to follow up on us. Our stay was July 21-23, 2024...a month ago.

Just a wonderful and eclectic place on the shore of Lake Ontario out in Prince Edward County. Delicious food, friendly and courteous staff, and comfortable and well appointed rooms to round out a relaxing and rejuvenating stay.

We had a great experience staying for one night in a Studio King Room in the Motor Inn building. Room was spacious and clean. We ate at the restaurant for dinner and had a pleasant meal with great service from Stephanie. The front desk at the hotel during the day was very friendly and helpful, particularly Chelsea and Connor who took amazing care of us with local recommendations, tourism advice, and great conversation. We would stay here again and recommend it to others. One feedback though would be, for the price, we would love to see bikes available to guests at no extra charge, in order to explore the area and nearby wineries conveniently without driving. I was excited for the fish and chips. My mouth was watering, it was a great looking plate. The fries were good limpy, the coleslaw was ok. The fish, both pieces of fish was extremely oily and the bottom was soggy. When i mentioned this i was told, well yah it is fried in oil. Maybe the fryer was having an off day. Not returning. But you may have a better experience.

The restaurant is a must in Wellington. Their food is amazing and the views from their patio are superb! Dogs are allowed on the patio, which is great. There is access to the lake and some chairs to enjoy after your meal.

The location is amazing! Perfect for a sunny day brunch. The food is a pricey for the portion and the quality but the terrace is worth it. The service was slow. The vanilla matcha was tasty, the salmon bowl was good but the portion was small. The drake benny is an average Benedictine, you can t go wrong with this one.

Food and drinks: We had dinner on the patio. The view is spectacular, however I was disappointed by the food. For appetizers, 4 of us split the fried shrimp. It was greasy and tasteless. The Burrata was served with 2 small pieces of bread. We had to ask for more and we were charged for it. The burratta would have served 4 pieces just fine, so the dish lacks enough bread. I wont comment on my friends dishes and they seemed to be satisfied, but I did not like the lobster pasta. It could be so much better if they re-modeled it. There was too much rich sauce, the noodle should be different and there was a strange after taste I could not pinpoint. The server sold it as containing big chunks of fresh lobster, but there was really only one claw. For $40, it was a mediocre attempt at serving a high-end dish. The service was amazing though. The server was friendly and helpful. Its a great place for patio drinks and views.

Came for brunch. The view was very nice. Food was decent but for the price we paid the service painfully slow. Felt like our waitress had no care in the world for our table. Took forever to get our waters refilled, never cleared our cocktails off the table, took an hour to get our food and had to ask another waitress to get our waitress to get the bill because we were waiting so long and she was no where to be seen. Left extremely disappointed.

Visited the Drake for breakfast with family on a Friday and it was the worst service. We ve been a few times and visit every time we visit the county. We bring friends and family each time. We ve even stayed here before. Our food this time took over an hour to arrive. The frustrating part was that we did not get any updates, apologies for being so late with our food. We had 4 young children with us and with a 9:30am reso we didn t get food until close to 11am. We saw other customers who arrived after us that received their food before us. They didn t even address it at all. Sad that this experience will likely be our last time here as we will not return. Would not recommend.

Her knowledge, charm, and enthusiasm for the food truly made it an incredible dinner. The food she recommended was absolutely delicious and something we will surely be back to have again because of her! She was also super kind, personable, and enjoyed joking around with us, which made our time there for both breakfast and dinner that much more memorable! Definitely will be back because of her. Our large group of 11 had a really great experience at the Devonshire restaurant recently. The location is great and the view of the lake is quite lovely. The service was great as well. Our waiter went as far as offering to take photos of our group down by the lake after our meal. The dj they had hired was playing good music 10/10 atmosphere. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed there meals and cocktails.

Very disappointed! Sat down at 11:05 and left at 12:30. After 1.5 hour, the food was still not ready. The coffee drinks were not very good either. Wasted our time.

Food and drinks: My wife and I were recommended this wonderful place for breakfast after our stay in Picton. We both were so thrilled to have the best accommodating staff who were very lovely and gracious once they heard about or recent elopment nearby. They gifted us glasses of mimosas to celebrate (free of charge) and all the staff in the restaurant congratulated us as we walked out. We had a lovely time on the patio early in the morning by ourselves and I could tell this place was very popular on the weekends.

The food was so delicious. There was a great view from the patio of the lake. Highly recommend. There is a great coffee selection as well. Highly recommend. We went for brunch.

Food and drinks: Curiously, we had the same server as we did the day before at the Lakeside. This time we were 16 instead of 20. The bad news: service was slow. I am guessing we must have had our orders taken by 10:15. Coffees did not come for another 30 minutes. Back when I worked in restaurants, the rule was that you had drinks on the table ASAP. One of our friends ordered tea and received the cup. The tea came much later. Another ordered coffee with milk. Her coffee cooled while she waited for the milk and, eventually, had to ask again. Our latté did not arrive until 11:00 and it was tepid. However, the food was very good and the view over the water, excellent. Maybe they need to retrain the barista. I had been to the Drake before and my memory is that it was terrific.

Espresso martinis were yummy but very tinny for $18. Service was slow with and the place as not that busy. Another great lunch at The Drake. The main dining room is full of light with a great view of the lake. The team at The Drake are all wonderful and welcoming. Our server Cece did a great job and was very pleasant with us. The food was great as well. The Drake Devonshire has become one of our summer go to restaurants. We will be back for sure.

Visited the Drake Devonshire on Sunday night for dinner and had a lovely experience. The hotel is beautiful and we were able to sneak out and enjoy the lovely sunset by their beach. The service was a bit slower but expected during peak dinner time on a long weekend. Other diners were not patient and were being rude to staff, who handled everything with grace. Devin and his team were really welcoming and made sure we had an enjoyable dinner experience!

I recently visited Drake Devonshire for the first time and I highly recommend it! Despite the ongoing Covid-19 situation, the ambiance was very welcoming and charming. The food was amazing and the view was breathtaking! Its a perfect spot for a first date or to celebrate a special occasion with loved ones. Although its a long drive from Toronto, its totally worth it. I love this place and will definitely be visiting again. I highly recommend it!

The restaurant was delicious to be sure, but not half as fancy as the prices indicate. Also a little odd that they don t feature any local vendors for drinks or food. Their sourdough is shipped in from Toronto despite equally delicious local businesses around. None of our fabulous local distilleries or breweries are featured for cocktails. Would be nice to up the ambiance and go local for the price!

Nice view and great food. Stayed at the drake motor inn. Advertised as soundproof rooms and it was anything but. The walls paper thin. Would not stay here again. Consider somewhere else if you want quiet.

Unimpressive dinner. Its clear the Drake Devonshire is more concerned with seeming cool than actually providing a high quality meal. At $240 for 2ppl, there was nothing to write home about and no reason to return. Cocktails were adequate but expensive, with nothing to show for the premium paid. Countylicious menu salmon starter and chicken entree were underwhelming relative to the description. Steak frites was more rare than requested (at least not overdone though) and generally boring with minimal accoutrements and fries that belonged with a greasy diner burger (they should at least strive to do better than a metal ramekin of Heinz ketchup with this entree). Roasted vegetable side failed to include brussel sprouts as advertised (with no acknowledgement from the staff). It took a while to be seated despite a reservation. We had a table in an area that felt better suited for hostel breakfast than $$$ dinner. Our server was affable but obviously had too many tables to give us any more than the bare minimum of attention, and never asked whether we were satisfied with anything. Overall our meal was unapologetically mediocre for the price point and the opportunity cost of dining elsewhere in PEC. This place has to do a lot better to deserve its overinflated reputation. If youre looking for a special meal, keep looking.

When you have had one poor and two terrible experiences at the Drakes restaurant, all because of poor service, and one good, what rating do you give... For my 50th birthday I brought in 8 people but the staff didnt acknowledge the event. For another lunch I had asked for a table by the water only to be told those cannot be reserved. When we got there we found a waterside table reserved for the new manager. Message sent: management is more important than customers. And on eclipse day I had reserved a table for lunch thinking afterwards I will see the eclipse from the Drakes beach. But there was a beach event for which one had to purchase a ticket and it was sold out. No one at The Drake ever thought of mentioning this to me when I made the reservation. In March 2024 We did have a great meal and great service thanks to Rachel and Ethan, two people seamlessly working together to make sure you feel well looked after. Great job - keep up the good work! One point for improvement is the beer menu. What with Bud Light, Heineken and Corona its inspired. So there you have it - 3 out of 4 poor experiences. Three strikes out methinks. Food and drinks: Good food, generous portions. Expect downtown Toronto prices, but where else would you get a view like this?

Our two night stay was fantastic. Rooms were immaculate and service was FAST. You could send a message to the front desk and receive a response within minutes. The lake and nearby tributary offered a beautiful backdrop to our weekend getaway. Drinks and food at the adjoining restaurant were delicious. The only small issue we encountered was that one of our supper dishes was incorrect and ended up showing up after the other had finished eating. Not a huge issue, but I hoped for a small discount. Food and drinks: Cocktails and brunches were out of this world. Quality ingredients. Our dinner was so-so as one of our two meals was significantly later than the other. They were apologetic, but I expected a very small discount/comp of some sort.

The drinks were lovely and the location is amazing. The decor is beautiful and it truely is a unique location. Only complaints are the parking is limited therefore you have to walk a distance. The restaurant is small therefore it being busy means it being so loud. They have a Photo Booth that is really unique and you can request a charge on your tab if you don t have cash on you so that is convenient. Definitely an experience. Nearby activities: The restaurant is right on Wellington beach and there is a children s park nearby as well as cute shops and other restaurants.breweries. Walkability: It s quite walk able to anything in Wellington. Food and drinks: The drinks are made nicely albeit a bit expensive. The food is lovely and carefully crafted.

Hotel - 5 star - Friendly staff. Nice rooms. Restaurant 2 star - nice place, but food and service were below par. Had the beef short ribs, and octopus, oysters, and soup. Octopus was mushy. The rest was also subpar. Service was also only okay, we were given the Wrong menu, long wait to get water or to order, food took long to be served (while manager specifically told us we only had 90 minutes) our waitress was friendly but that s about it.

Had brunch at this restaurant last year and I was so angered by the experience I did not wish to bother writing a review about it. It was one of the worst and unusual dining experiences we have had in recent years. I can overlook the fact that our burgers took almost an hour to arrive, only after we reminded them of our order. Half way through the meal, I noticed a long black hair in the burger patty. When I subtly notified the waitress about this, she retrieved the hair and showed it to the manager. This manager returned minutes later stating that none of the wait staff has black hair and so she does not know where the hair came from. Then she suggested that maybe it was my wife s hair that fell into the burger (despite my explaining that the hair was practically embedded and grilled in the patty). This was one of the most unexpected and ridiculous dining experiences I have had in any Canadian restaurant. Now looking at reviews of this establishment, I am less surprised. This experience soured what was meant to be a special weekend for us and has left a memory that I wish to forget.

Loved my dinner here in almost every way. The atmosphere was sublime, really great staff, everything was prepared super well with great ingredients, with one exception. The veggie burger patty stands out like a sore thumb! With the wide range of excellent patties available, choosing to go with the bottom of the barrel corn and bean frozen flavourless option is a huge disappointment. Would love to give this the full 5 stars it deserves, such a simple solution! Again 5/5 almost completely across the board!

This review is for the restaurant only. And it was another fabulous experience! My beautiful wife ordered the Drake burger -lettuce wrapped so no bun- and she absolutely loved it! From the Crispy bacon to the perfectly cooked burger to the outstanding French fries, it was delicious she said. (many times lol). I myself ordered fish and chips and I have to say it was the best fish and chips Ive had since PEI a few years ago. (And I order quite a few fish and chips!). The fish filets were perfectly cooked, and only battered enough, not all batter and no fish like many other places. The fries were outstanding, and Im fussy with fries. The service was wonderful, everyone was fast, courteous and friendly. We honestly cant wait to go back, and its about 45 minutes for us coming from north of Belleville. Overall, 5 stars.

We did not stay at the inn but ate at the restaurant and BOOKED online well in ADVANCE for brunch and confirmed 2 days before. Only to arrive to find out there was NO reservation! Not sure what kind of reservation system the Drake has for the restaurant but they clearly does NOT work, maybe consider using OpenTable again!. We were a party of 7 so lucky the restaurant was not too busy and we got seated. I dont recommend using their on-line reservation system - this was the second time for me! Use the phone and call otherwise you are taking a chance to be disappointed. Once you get past the reservation fiasco the service and food is good. Food and drinks: Food and service was good but might not have been able to enjoy if my reservation was not honored given the system said there was no reservation, although I had booked well in advance and confirmed 2 days prior!

We had a wonderful experience! The venue boasts stunning views of the lake, and the modern, eco-friendly rooms were both comfortable and supportive of local businesses. While the New Years Eve party was a bit crowded with long lines at the bar and for food, the delicious cuisine and the efforts of the attentive staff and manager to ensure our satisfaction were commendable. The hotels staff truly shines, making our honeymoon an unforgettable experience that we highly recommend.

We always come here for breakfast every time we re at PCE. Food here is fantastic plus sitting at their patio with the view will make you feel extra. You should book a table cause this place is always packed. Last time we visited without reservation so we had to wait for a table. We decide to enjoy our Bloody Ceasar during waiting time with the fabulous view

Our visit to Drake Devonshire on New Years Day was a mixed bag of experiences. Despite arriving promptly for our reservation, the timing of our meals left much to be desired. However, the evening took an unexpected turn, proving that sometimes, the best memories arise from unforeseen circumstances. Upon being seated, we were promptly served cocktails and a bottle of wine, setting a delightful tone for the evening. Placing our food orders was smooth, and the first dish arrived swiftly, coinciding with another round of delicious cocktails. One among us savored their meal, courteously waiting for the rest of our party to be served. Unfortunately, the synchronization of our orders stumbled along the way. As the second and third members of our group were halfway through their meals, the fourth order was initially incorrect. Despite this hiccup, the flavors were delightful across all dishes. The server, acknowledging the inconvenience, graciously comped the first and fourth orders, demonstrating an admirable commitment to customer satisfaction. Faced with the timing glitch, we collectively decided to embrace the celebratory spirit of the day. Surprisingly, this delay extended our enjoyment, allowing us to savor each others company a little longer. What began as a slightly frustrating start evolved into an enjoyable evening, leaving us with no regrets about our experience. While a complimentary bottle of wine might have further smoothed over the timing issue, the camaraderie and ambiance compensated for the initial hiccups. Were inclined to return, acknowledging the potential for a smoother dining experience on another occasion.

I was with a large group of friends from Wellington on the lake and I really enjoyed our lunch Food and drinks: I found the prices quite high

Not sure what happened as I remember the service and food being exceptional. However, we just went for brunch and the food took an hour to get. Asked twice for a rush on just the melon and fruits, literally just cut up fruit took 50mins to get. The chicken and waffles were over fried and rock hard and the huervos were tasteless. Such a disappointing experience. The atmosphere is nice and the location is good so one star.

Magic Happens Here

We went to check out their property considering the wedding venue and had a brunch at restaurant. I must say I really enjoyed their service at their restaurant. A good balance with protein and greens. We are currently connecting with them for our wedding plan. So far, they are responsive and informative. We are highly considering to book their venue.

Just for lunch- the chicken and waffles was to die for. 10/10 would recommend that meal!!!

Great restaurant with an epic view. Go for the patio and beach seating.

We did not stay at the rooms, but went for a late lunch. There was a hair in one meal. My chicken pot pie was more like a thin salty soup with a puff pastry lump on top. There was more salt than my husbands fries! The salad was good.

Beautiful place with mediocre food at high price. As the Chef is doing experiments with us. Weird taste experience let me tell you. Well probably be back only for drinks if not over priced and the view to relaxe. The burger are way more tasty at McDonald..

Really happy with our stay. The front desk staff put it over the top, the gentlemen working Thursday/Saturday morning went above and beyond at every single turn, even heard other guests raving about him. Guest service here is amazing.

SLOW, UNINSPIRED SERVICE - but good food. Four (plus one) of us were looking forward to enjoy a nice dinner at the Drake Devonshire. The waitress did not seem to have a good day. We told her we are here for a good time and brought our DD. It took her long time to come back after we got seated to ask for our starting drink or cocktail. When we ordered our appetizers and main course, one of us ordered a side-dish with some minor changes and that got screwed up. She waitress did not even attend to this mistake - we had to ask another waiter. (Note: everyone else in our group did order from the menu without any further extra wishes.) After I finished my G&T I ordered a bottle of Rose wine. It took more than 12 minutes to arrive at our table. I saw the bottle in an ice-bucket on the bar counter for more than 10 minutes without her bringing it to us. If she would have been more attentive - we probably would have ordered at least another bottle. Her loss of an extra tip. The food was good.

Restaurant review only: Such a beautiful spot- great views and have never had bad service. Everyone is helpful, friendly and makes good recommendation. The cocktails were beautifully presented. The food was ok on this trip, for the price, I expected a bit more in flavour and sophistication- but the presentation was lovely and the overall friendly mood and beautiful view means I will be back and hope a menu update brings the flavour.

The location cant be beat and the dining room environment was equally great at brunch and dinner. We discovered an issue with our room after checking in, and were impressed with how quickly and customer oriented Saurav (the manager on duty) was. We look forward to coming back again!
