Gum Bistro in West End

Exceptional meal and a great vibe! Brought my mother here on her last night in Australia before heading back overseas. Everything we had was amazing but the standout was the vegetable gratin!

Ive been 3 times with both friends and family and am always blown away by the delicious food. One of my favourites is the quail with mushrooms. The ingredients are sourced locally and are so fresh. You cant go wrong lunch or dinner here.

Dinner on Halloween evening was scarily good! All service, food and atmoshere was great and we thoroughly recommend Gum Bistro.

I loved it and will be back!! the quality and freshness of the food was unreal and from also local producers! Highly recommend the Red Emperor/pot pie/quail main and the roasted cauliflower. Loved the relaxed atmosphere/vibes and fantastic service (shout out to Claudine and the team who looked after us).

Fantastic service, food was Devine, great share menu however could easily have single meals. We had the sourdough - cook to perfection light fluffy but moist enough - paired with delicious butter; Congolese - so tasty. And great to have the bread alongside to soak up the juices. The cauliflower also cooked beautifully with a crispness on the outside but beautiful and tender to eat - the sauce on the cauliflower was Devine! The cod was tender and melt in the mouth the asparagus was so fresh and again cooked to perfection which is never easy. The sauce on the cod and asparagus was glorious with the capers throughout giving it an edge. Finished with the best sticky fate pudding we ve ever had (and we have had a lot over the years). Full of rich flavour but balanced brilliantly with the cardamom ice cream. Rose and gin were lovely we will definitely be back !

Amazing experience alround. Id call this business dining. There is a more relaxed atmosphere than fine dining, but the food quality is up there with the best. I havent had any food that I didnt like, and the recommended wines were delish. Ive been telling everyone about this place.

my boyfriend and I visited Gum for the Sunday lunch service. I cannot speak more highly of the magical experience they have crafted. Every aspect of the restaurant is exceptional - the uniqueness of the menu, the warmth and experience of the staff, and the curation of the space. It s great to see an exciting and very different small restaurant gracing Brisbane s inner city. Gum has left us with anticipation for our return!

The best new little secret in west end!! So freakin tasty, charming, lovely! Don t wait, go eat! (Only stopped to take a photo of the potatoes but everything blew our mind!)

The whole experience we had at Gum Bistro was exceptional. The food and service was amazing and we left feeling full which can sometimes be unlikely with high quality dining. The sticky date pudding is a must. Would recommend to anyone if they want quality without snobbery.

Its this small quirky little bistro that serves absolutely delicious food. We turned up without a booking and were fitted in despite them being obviously busy. The service and food was still amazing. We will be back for sure! (but well book next time.) Dietary restrictions: They catered for my gluten intolerance without any issues. Im pretty sensitive and wasnt sick.

This unassuming gem far exceeded my expectations. The food is handled by an expert, wait staff friendly and aware. Well done.

Wow, what an absolutely delicious dinner. We went for a family birthday dinner and everyone loved the food. So many unique dishes that were executed perfectly pair that with great vibes and really friendly service, and Gum Bistro is a must for everyone. We ll be back!

This is a truly delightful place down the quiet end of West End - the Dornoch Terrace side of Vulture. A converted corner Queensland timber & tin place, this might be unimposing but don t be fooled. Here is a restaurant with ambitious, imagination & flair. Patrons of the James Street quarter heavyweight Essa will recognise faces, tastes & cool attitude. An experience to put on your must do list. Vegetarian options: There are delicious veggie dishes & some delights for fish & seafood lovers Parking: There is parking in Boundary Street & the streets around but it can require a bit of hunt & gather

Awesome neighbourhood gem. Quite new but already have a great following and no surprise, menu is interesting and food was awesome, great wine list, also quite eclectic and service was exceptional, definitely add it to the return visit list.

What a fantastic night out! We were warmly welcomed into the bistro like old friends, treated to an evening of spectacular food and wine, and then seen off a couple of hours later feeling grateful for having had such a wonderful night. I dont think I have had a meal out that good in years. The pace for food was spot on, keeping us feeling relaxed and able to enjoy some sumptuous red wine from their ample wine list.

Delicious! We stopped by on our way home and chanced upon a seat at the bar. Perfect food (we had the sourdough and pipis order this and dunk your butter-laden-bread in the jus drool!), and two classes of wine which were recommended by the informative staff. These guys do it so well. Go here

Cosy and welcoming with comfy seating and local art Gum Bistro is a welcome addition. You are greeted on arrival and throughout the evening with a genuine desire to make you feel welcome. The variety of starters were perfect with a drink from oysters, pate, vegetables with cashew cream, and soughdough to Pipis, squid, and eggplant. Mains of lamb, Cobia,quail and a vegetarian pot pie. All delicious and full of flavour. The sides of potato pave and leafy dressed salad leaves complemented the mains. We tried all 3 desserts which were fabulous and not your standard dessert offerings. Think generous servings of date pudding with cardamon icecream and davison plum and rhubarb sorbet. We shared all desserts and they were outstanding. Service was perfect, never intrusive or based on table turn over. The wine, drinks list is comprehensive from someone who knows what they are doing. Gum Bistro fulfills every need as you can enjoy several courses with a group or a drink and a bite to eat or just a drink if you prefer. We will return regularly! Vegetarian options: Superb offerings of Vegetables across each course. Served full of flavour. Dietary restrictions: A well balanced menu offering something for everyone. Vegetarians and those that dont eat seafood are well taken care of. Meat eaters dont despair you can enjoy also. Parking: Plenty of offstreet parking.

Atmosphere and service of Gum bistro were nice! Friendly staff and pretty restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. Portion sizes were small for the price you pay. Ordered a $19 entree of squid, chicory and fennel and the amount of squid we got was less than my pinky finger. Felt quite cheated. Ordered a $40 lamb rump, which was cooked deliciously but was served only 4 small pieces and the rest of the meal was just beans and 2 cabbage leaves.

Friendly service, great food and wine

Cosy but contemporary decor, and while inside is a bit loud outside seating on the street front still gets the same level of service. Staff are friendly, attentive and know their menu. Food was delicious - the menu is designed to be grazed and shared so the plates are small but satisfying. We had the pot pie and lamb and both were exceptional. The drinks menu compliments the food and recommend the cocktails if it s your thing.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary, since the old restaurant pasta club was our first date. We were not disappointed. We had the best night. Amazing staff. Warm and cozy atmosphere. Beautiful food and beverage. One of the staff members, Rubia, was the sweetest, absolutely made out dining experience. Thank you Gum Bistro
