Cambridge St, West End QLD 4101, Australia
Located in the heart of Brisbane's West End, Morning After cafe is the vision of mother and son Soula and Yianni Passaris. Enjoy a balanced menu of healthy, fun and indulgent foods. Coffee by 5 Senses and Roast by Yili.
This is an amazing venue and great experience. Service was world class and even whilst waiting for a table the staff were attentive and accommodating. Food was just next level for a breakfast/brunch venue with excellent variations on the same boring menus every other cafe does. We decided we could easily go back and work our way through the selection on offer as we wanted to try multiple dishes. My personal recommendation to the team would be to just sort out the payment process as the queue to line up at the cashier intersects with the food pass and bathroom access, so it’s kind of chaotic during busy periods and very difficult for the service team to access the orders and you feel their frustration (although they were always smiling). But that doesn’t distract from the overall experience being exceptional.
Amazing breakfast/brunch place with very delicious food. The place as such is very stylish, staff was super friendly and the food and drinks were a 10/10.
When I saw this cafe listed as the best brunch spot in Brisbane, I had to give it a try—and it didn’t disappoint! The food was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. Richard made me feel especially welcome, and his recommendation was spot on. Highly recommended!
We ordered the Umurice and the Carbonara. I would say food wise, this place is a 4/5 rating! The pasta stood out to me the most as the plating and taste was quite flavorful (i liked it). The pork cuts were very generous and savoury (the texture was soft as well, love!) the pasta they used were the orecchiette, never had them before but i enjoyed them here. The Umurice on the other hand, it was standard, was not bad, but was not amazing, very typical which is quite understandable knowing that this cafe is a western fusion kind. The vibes of the place r so nice, probably not ideal for a hot December like summer, but for spring and autumn, definitely a good place to catch up with your friends or do your assignments/work. breezy open air place, friendly staff. Do get their coffee too!
The coffee here is the highlight. While the food is good, it’s a bit too oily and creamy for my taste. The service is fast and friendly, even when they’re very busy. If you’re looking for a place to catch up with friends, this spot offers a nice vibe, great coffee, and decent food. However, parking can be difficult. Overall, it’s still one of the better options in West End.
One of my favorite places in Brisbane, if ppl want to have nice coffee and brunch, I will definitely recommend you come to experience! My friends and I really love both food and coffee here, will come next time! thank you!
This cafe is a very aesthetic with a lovely layout and interior. They have a good variety of dishes and add a twist to the traditional dishes. While the dishes are on the more expensive side it’s worth treating yourself to something different. I ordered the banana bread that was topped with mascarpone and fresh berries. The banana bread was so soft and it wasn’t too sweet. Staff are also very attentive in checking you have everything you need and topping up your water. Give them a visit for a delicious breakfast or lunch!
The sweet potato waffle is surprisingly good, although the fried chicken seems like a kind of frozen food! It doesn’t matter too much. In addition, there are so many guests in the restaurant, so it is a worthwile option to experience local food culture.
Very good service from the staff here, we requested for indoor table when there was no availability, the staff has kindly allocated us to an outdoor table first and moved us to another outdoor table with shades, once the indoor table was available, they moved us another time in there. It is rare to have such a proactive staff serving us in brunch places. Foods are always good from this cafe, has been going there for years and even after moving to Sydney, I have always returned to this cafe for their breakkie every time I m in Brisbane.
Food was sublime. I had the carbonara and it was 10-out of- 10. Service was amazing and they served full cans of coke no sugar which is always a winner for me.
Have been here for a few times, love it. So decided to take my fam here when they visit Australia. On a Tuesday afternoon, not so busy.. I have put my hand up already to order for a few times, have already made eyes contact to one of the waitress and she decided ignore me. Even my dad noticed that she is ignoring us. I got served because another customer reminded other waitress to serve me.
I ordered a cheeseburger and it was quite large and delicious! For Japanese people, I think its a must-have amount to take home... Its okay if you eat a lot When I unexpectedly ordered tea, a teapot came out and I couldnt help but laugh out loud. A true eclectic mix of Japanese and Western...
Still the best cafe in Brisbane IMO. Really interesting menu, top quality food, staff are great. A little noisy when full but cest la vie. A solid 5 stars.
Food was ordinary and the place was pretty grubby
Very good place to invite a friend and talk, very attentive waitresses and delicious food, I ordered a mushroom dish and it was exquisite, to drink I asked for Ferrero Milshake.
What a pleasure to have lunch here !
Morning After is the perfect brunch spot! The meals are delicious with generous serving sizes we had the Fried Chicken Benedict and Lamb Salad, and couldn t fault a thing. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. Plus, there s plenty of street parking. Highly recommend for a top-notch brunch outing!
the cafe definitely has the vibes. the chai latte and banana loaf i had was underwhelming though
1 star just because of service. (Thock thack thuck!) Thats what you ll hear from the customer service aggressively putting cutlery bowls anything. Be prepared that they will also suddenly put stuff from other table to your table when you eat and aggressively. Really felt there is no customer service training done. Felt bad for the kitchen team as they ve done a great job, but get fooked over because of the service at front
Always a great service here. Busy cafe. Great food & choices. Parking: Outside parking is available Food : 5/5 |
Service is but the food is soso and a bit pricey.
Loved this place in west end the food was good and the coffee even better! Overall atmosphere was really good and will come again!
One of the best cafes in the city.
Great coffee, delicious food, nice vibe
Me and my friends visit the restaurant today and had mixed feelings about our experience. The food was genuinely good, and we enjoyed our meal. However, the service left something to be desired. Throughout our visit, we felt rushed, with staff repeatedly asking if we wanted to order more. Toward the end, they brought the bill without us requesting it, even though there were other free tables, claiming they had booked our table. This made us feel like we were being pushed out rather than welcomed to stay and enjoy our time. While the food was great, the service made the experience less enjoyable.
We didn t feel welcome to stay for a very long time.
Food was amazing, staff were super friendly and were enthusiastic about their service. Food presentation was beautiful and servings generous.
Food is great but the service ???? They were all so rude with dirty looks the whole time. I ve never felt more unwelcomed in a cafe from the moment we walked in to leaving. Owner and all staff were just sitting around on a table out the front talking & when I went to pay the owner was so rude (setting a great example for her staff). Not worth it, better cafes around with nicer staff who don t make you feel like you re imposing just by giving them business
$2 per tiny thimble of 30ml ketchup labelled under open serve. Poor value for money. The smashburger was dry but not crispy. The point of a smashburger is that you trade juiciness for caramelization. The best days of Morning After are long gone, like the old wagyu burger
Staff member was condescending, the coffee was over extracted and milk over heated. In an area where good coffee is abound, they should really pick up their standard. I normally never leave a review for bad coffee, but the womans behaviour compelled me to warn others of this establiment. They decor is tacky, I should have known as soon as I stepped in, there was a smell of bleach too.
The person serving me almost threw the food and put it away as soon as I ate it.
Great food, friendly service, nice setting!
probably the best brunch spot in West end, the only thing I dont like about this place is...sometimes too crowded but this means they are popular
Visited today and experienced lovely service by our waitress and the food was incredible!! My partner had the beef cheek panang curry and I had the truffle ricotta ravioli we ll definitely be back to try the rest of the new menu!
Food was actually 6 stars, and the coffee was a great price for its quality.
I love pasta and here you can get pasta for breakfast? 5 stars
Food is average really. The fried rice with wagyu beef is so disappointing. Maybe just call it soy sauce rice, that would be fitting. Ask for extra chilli and butter, and got charge $1 each for it. Feel cheated as should give a heads up they ll charge for extra as it s not a common practice. Don t mind the charging if given heads up. Chai and coffee are good though.
Be sure to try the spicy honey glazed smoked bacon & cheesy potato hash cake...
I was there for breakfast yesterday with my friend and I have to say the girl who was serving us was clearly not happy to be there! I ordered a chai and my coffee came super cold, after the first sip I called her and asked for another coffee because mine was cold. She got the coffee and when she brought another one she just put it on the table, no apology or even looking at me. When she came to the plates my friend asked for another coffee and she didnt even ask if we had finished our meal! I asked her if she was ok, because although the food was great, the terrible service didnt make us want to go back.
Vegetarian options: Good vegan options Food
Delicious pizza!
The coffee was awful and it was burnt, but apart from that the food was delicious
Nice place, amazing cafe
One of the better breakfast venues Ive been to in recent years. Great vibe, excellent service and great food. The menu is very enticing. I had the spicy bacon, scrambled egg and hash brown which would have been perfect if it had more than one piece of bacon and everything werent drowned in maple syrup. I would order this again but would request extra bacon and no syrup. My partner had the French Toast with Caramelised Banana, gelato and pistachio crumb and was very impressed. The coffee was excellent! We will be going back for sure.
Fabulous coffee, luscious cakes and lovely staff with a dash of chilled ambience!
Great service, good ambience, delicious food. Good vegan options Dietary restrictions: Vegan Food : 5/5 |
Didnt feel welcome at all. Host was busy talking with their friend. We were waiting to be seated but he kept talking and just ignored us. He then got busy taking care of other stuff then just simply looked at us and told us to go to the table, when the table has already been vacant for a while. Doesn t table service mean we get welcomed to the table and then served? Waitress was also rude, pulled the menu out of my hands when i wasn t ready, also didn t know how to pour water as all the water was everywhere. Otherwise, it was vegetarian friendly, but the food was overall mid. :)
It was a lovely place. Service and food were excellent when my friends and I visited. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting Brisbane
Really bad experience today. It s 27th April 2024 today and we had the food there around 2:40 pm. The waitress, a high white woman, was quite rude to us, not even like no serving attitude. When I tried to get ordered, she ignored me for the first time and came to us after 2-3 minutes serving other customers and stood behind my friend to help us to order. No response when we finish order saying thank you and really rude. Really good restaurant but an extremely awful experience today.
That tallest waitress really screwed up the restaurant. The way she talked, very aggressive and rude. Not sure is there any standards still, to hire such a rude, impolite lady from the street?
Very good food. The drinks were a bit mediocre. Nice atmosphere and good location
Food is okay, not great. Staff were all a bit short/rude.
I ve visited The Morning After may times over the years since it has been open. You could call this place a West End institution with how popular and busy it gets. It has a bright and visually appealing interior which is great for the gram! Despite its popularity, we were fortunate to find a table without a long wait today. The staff were kind and attentive throughout our lunch. Having been here numerous times, I can attest to the diverse menu, but as a pasta lover, the Prawn Spaghetti and Signature Carbonara are personal favorites. Today, I tried the Fish Burger with fries, while my husband enjoyed the Crispy Skinned Salmon both dishes were delicious! Their coffee selection, featuring 5 Senses Coffee and Roast by Yili, has always been consistently good. If youre in the area, definitely make a stop at The Morning after, but just make sure to come a little earlier over the weekend as it gets busy. Vegetarian options: There were a few vegetarian options I could see on the menu. Dietary restrictions: They have vegetarian and gluten free options, and also have milk alternatives. Parking: Parking is hard to find, so you may need to drive around and find neighboring side street parking. Kid-friendliness: It seems to be Kid friendly :) Wheelchair accessibility: It has easy access.
A place I saved and visited during my trip to Brisbane in April last year. Of course, the coffee was delicious, as well as the pancakes, especially the carbonara. My sister who visited with me also really liked it. The store has a nice atmosphere, so I recommend it if you have travel plans! I visited here during my trip to Brisbane in April last year. The pancake & their unique brekky carbonara were unforgettable! I ll definitely be back next time! The brewed coffee and latte were Great too :-)
Used to love this place but customer service is very poor and food not good anymore. We asked to sit on chairs with backs as I have chronic back pain, however they were unable to organise this despite chairs being available at empty tables. I ordered a meal and specifically requested no spice. The meal turned up covered in a spicy sauce, so I couldn t eat it. I mentioned it to the staff but they said that they couldn t do anything about it, it was part of the dish. I was a loyal customer but don t see myself coming back.
The iced latte was delicious and the truffle mushroom croquettes were also delicious. The seats were spacious, the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was nice:) Recommended!
The food is fantastic and beautifully presented! Highly recommended for breakfast and brunch! And last but not least, staff are super helpful and friendly! Food
Breakfast bowl made by the gods. It was so full of flavour I forgot it was vegetarian. Add the cheesy potato hash and you might shed a little tear.
We dropped in for brunch today after a friend recommended. Outstanding food, great service very busy - and now we know why!
Friendly service. Creatively presented food. Excellent coffee. Recommended stopover Wheelchair accessibility: It is direct open to the street - you can park nearby
2024-02 Brunch Cafe Even though it rained last Saturday, people were waiting in line... so I went today. Mushroom croquettes are delicious - you should try them when you come here. If you order a large flat white, it tastes a lot like milk, but this taste is satisfying. I ordered and drank strawberry juice and it was so so so. The batch coffee also has a very good sense of acidity.
This place is always heaving on the weekend with a minimum of 20 min wait, but its totally with it. The service is quick and friendly and the food is next level! Do yourself a favour and stop in.
Overall, great experience the customer service was outstanding they are ontop of everything and have a very dynamic workflow I was impressed the food is different and delicious Id highly recommend this place.
Had brunch here with a friend on Sunday. Wait for a table was 10mins so not too bad as they don t take bookings under 5people. Food was delicious especially the Wagyu rice dish and coffee was yum. Also got a carrot ginger turmeric juice which was so yum and refreshing! So many cute dogs were also spotted. Would visit again!
Throughly enjoyed our late breakfast and bubbles!!
The fried chicken benedict tastes nice but is really greasy.
Top quality food and great coffee
Poor service. Told to wait 15-20. Ending up waiting 40 min. Got us a table in the corner outside and it was raining. Asked them for change and the response was it would stop raining soon and can t do anything to change us. Food
Wonderful to sit anywhere, lovely and helpful staff and delightful food.
Never fails to impress, haven t been in a while and we tried the new menu. Food was fantastic with the truffle mushroom croquettes a real winner. Service and atmosphere as fantastic as ever. If you re in Brisbane it s a must try for brunch.
Delicious
Friend found this restaurant on social Media. Squid ink spaghetti: it s too salty for us. Couldn t take the second bite. We met her friends coincidentally, they also said only tastes like cheese . Hope they can try it to confirm what we said. Not telling us it just because of the seafood. My friend need to brink back home to rinse noodles. Coz we really don t want to waste our food. Truffle mushroom & leek croquettes: if you re o big fan of mushrooms The best one:chicken waffles Even though we dine in the restaurant, still got problems of
Nice coffee but the almond croissant was stale
Nestled in West End, The Morning After is a brunch haven bursting with flavor and fun. Among its star dishes, the Ma Muffin, Fish Burger, and Chicken Waffles steal the show with their mouthwatering twists on breakfast classics. The Ma Muffin packs fluffy eggs, crispy bacon, and gooey cheese between buttery English muffins a fan favorite that hits the spot every time. For a taste of the seaside, dive into the Fish Burger, featuring tender fish fillet, crunchy lettuce, and zesty tartar sauce sandwiched in soft brioche buns a delicious catch you wont want to release. Weve ordered this the past two times as they do change up the menu and were not sure how long this deliciousness will last! And lets not forget the Chicken Waffles a harmonious blend of crispy fried chicken atop fluffy waffles, drizzled with maple syrup and hot sauce a sweet and savory delight thats simply irresistible. But The Morning After isnt just about the food; its an experience. Weve never made a reservation; you simply add your name to a list and usually have around a 10-20 minute wait time. But fret not! You can enjoy a takeaway beverage while you wait, adding to the anticipation and excitement of whats to come. So, if youre craving a brunch adventure like no other, head to The Morning After and indulge in their delectable offerings. With dishes like these, your morning is sure to start on a delicious note! Always worth the drive from the north side! Vegetarian options: Theres a plethora of vegetarian options to delight non-meat eaters. But fear not, carnivores, for you can easily amplify any dish with a savory addition like crispy bacon or juicy fried chicken. Picture this: indulging in a creamy carbonara, enhanced with a side of perfectly crispy fried chicken. Its a match made in brunch heaven thatll have your taste buds singing with joy. Parking: Its a bit of a gamble when it comes to parking sometimes you luck out with a spot right out front, while other times, you might find yourself circling the block a time or two. But fear not! Ive got a pro tip for you: if youre rolling in with a buddy, divide and conquer. Send one person to put your name down on the waitlist while the other embarks on the quest for the perfect parking spot. Its a winning strategy that ensures you spend less time waiting and more time enjoying the brunch goodness that awaits inside. So, roll the dice, split the tasks, and get ready for a morning of culinary delights at The Morning After! Kid-friendliness: Bringing the kiddos along for a brunch adventure at The Morning After? Absolutely! Ive spotted a few little ones happily munching away during my visits, and trust me, theres something on the menu to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.
Food were pretty delicious. But a little bit salty. staff was nice and helpful.
A great place, if perhaps a touch pricey. Great food, excellent options for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free / coeliac requirements
Amazing food! Beef rendang with the roti was so good, dry egg noodles with pork was also tasty. A bit more expensive than other places but the portions are generous. The place was buzzing, had to wait about 30 minutes to get a table for 4. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, but it can get quite loud on the inside so was hard to hold a conversation. They had both Asian style dishes and normal brunch food which we really enjoyed. We ve been here a few times every few months, and they change some of the menu items around so it was nice to be able to try something new.
Sensational food - we took ages to make a choice and when we did we were all impressed!! Service was attentive and efficient - well done!
My favourite cafe - great staff, delicious fresh food and a wonderful place to have my weekend brunch catch ups with friends. Would highly recommend.
The cafe is airy, trendy and very comfortable. The lady who served us was very nice and made sure we were well looked after. The owner also genuinely wants their customers to have a good dining experience. Highly recommend the fresh pressed juices and the French toast. Thanks to Yianni and the team
The food was amazing We ordered the fried chicken Benedict and a wagyu cheeseburger. The fried chicken was juicy and tender, skin was crispy! Loved every component in this dish. Wagyu cheeseburger was a little disappointing. The burger was soft and fluffy but the patty was a little dry. I ll definitely be back for the fried chicken Benedict again!
It is recommended to come early during holidays as there are many crowds near noon. We were seated by the window and the window was open But the weather is too hot, and the smell of food It keeps attracting flies, causing me to keep eating while chasing them away. Food overall is delicious
Excellent coffee, made to exact request. The service was very good, and the food was delicious, reasonably priced, and good size portions. Atmosphere was buzzing. Food : 4/5
One of the best breakfast spot in West End. I had Truffle Mushroom and Kapow Fried Rice. I recommend Kapow Fried Rice.
Amazing service with creative menu. Coming from melbourne, visiting such a unique cafe truely made my day
ITS ALWAYS CLOSED! Its Tuesday, 9am this is the 4th time Ive come here, its NOT a public holiday, its in the top ten TOP BRISBANE CAFES and its closed. Again. No signals, just closed.
Great food, the salmon was beautiful. Staff constantly topping up wster and checking if you need anything.
Dont want to knock the restaurant because I originally came here for the carbonara but the ricotta Pancake swayed me. The dish was very good but didnt hit the spot I was looking for. The service was phenomenal and the atmosphere was very nice indoor outdoor vibe.
Great cafe! Been to this place many times and they never let me down.
Love the vibe of this cafe. Service was very friendly with attentive wait staff. We put our names down for a table and the wait was adequate. I had the carbonara and my friend had the kapow, both were lovely. Carbo hit the right spots... Creamy and salty yet sweet and rich. The thick chunks of bacon were smokey and helped complete the dish. The kapow was quite rich, maybe not to my taste, however my friend enjoyed it.
One of the best
Great food rubbish service.. been here a few times now, it s a great menu and always happy with the kitchen but the service is super lacklustre. Professional waitstaff are hard to find, messed up our order and no professionalism or friendliness to back it up. I should note we were there after lunch, it was quiet, I ve seen these guys juggle rush hour well.
Always busy! You know why once you tasted the dishes. Even the simple eggs of your choice was well made and presented beautifully - worth paying for. Check out the daily special too. Very creative and satisfying. Open door and spacious layout. Great for friends, family or couple.
The sago and chia pudding is delicious. Its almost like breakfast dessert.
It is the MUST visit café in Brisbane! Our favourite brunch spot in Brissy! The owner Yianni and his brother Nick really knew how to make his guests feel welcome like family! Daniel, the barista, absolutely love his coffee. Not to mention the food and coffee, always on top-notch!
Not worth the price.. coffee is served Luke Warm, you have to ask for it to be hot!!! What the?? the menu is limited. Staff ignore you as a solo diner. Try Black Star or Vulture Street Coffee instead for great service.
Great food, well presented and tasted amazing well worth the trip across town
Adorable place!
Great place to go food fantastic, staff spot on. Love the experience, highly recommend. Food
Popped in here for a quick lunch mid-week and the food was delicious and the service was happy and friendly. The avo on sourdough came with a herbed Labna which was an excellent combo! I also got a slice of baklava to takeaway and it was everything I needed Would come here again.
Do your self a favour , try the linguine pasta with the chilli prawns , great service and coffee to die for, I ll definitely be back, thankyou
Wasnt all that impressed with place, my coffee was lukewarm, very generous scrambled egg, which I couldnt finish it. Very busy in the morning. Got to get in early to get a good seat.
Try the blue berry pancakes - the best !
Nice and chill place, staff were accommodating, food was delicious.
Very chill place. Pleasent experience, spectacular food. Very fair portions.
Great food with very attentive service. Would recommend. Very busy on a Sunday morning though.
One of the more overrated brunch places in Brisbane. It s of decent to average quality but not comparable to other top end ones and certainly not for how busy it is.
Very nice banana loaf with fresh fruits. Love this store!
Wow, wow, wow, everything about my visit here was fantastic. An amazing and unique menu, there is truly something for everyone! Only thing I will say is that this place can get suuuuper loud. Be prepared to have to shout to get your words across.
This is an absolute eye-opening cafe. I don t understand where are those 5 stars reviews come from. See below: Food: I tried the Scrambled egg with truffle salami. Way too salty, an excessive amount of salt was put into the egg and turn the taste completely bitter. I lost my soul after eating it and my taste buds were all dead. Service: Staffs were generally helpful and polite. However, there was one staff who kept insisting that we hadnt paid the bill even though we had already settled it. I don t like the way she talked to me. She eventually apologised for the misunderstanding. Overall: The cafe is over rated. Food definitely need a huge improvement to reach the edible standard. STEER CLEAR OF THE DUMP :)
Lots of variety of food options for breakfast and lunch
I had been here couple of times myself having cup of coffee while doing work. The whole ambience was great so I brought my hubby and 15mths old baby boy for breakfast on Easter Monday. Staffs were friendly and very good with the baby. Though we didnt get a table immediately the wait time was relatively short. New menu this time and there were just as delicious. We ordered the Fried Chicken Benedicts and Nasi Goreng and we both were very pleased about it. Great place to bring friends and family when they visit in town. Kid-friendliness: There are high chairs option to sit the baby/toddler down in it.
we essentially paid 65$ for 2 small lattes, a big pancake with a dollop of ice cream on it and one piece of toast with tomatoes and avocado on it. The vibes are nice though and everything looks pretty. Good place if you aren t a bit tight.
We stopped here on our walk this morning and we re pleasantly surprised at the great service. The cafe has table service and they were very quick to provide menus and water before coming back out to take orders. The staff regularly checked that the food and coffee was ok and whether we needed a top up. There is inside and outside eating areas with plenty of open space and fresh air inside. The menu is unusual, has plenty of healthy options as well as the staples for brekkie. We loved it and would definitely return Parking: There is only street parking and given the number of high rises and businesses in the area this cafe is best if you can walk to it.
Rude wait staff who just try to bully you. Such nicer cafes in the area please go elsewhere.
The BEST pancakes in brisbane! I have tried so many restaurants and cafes and will exclusively order pancakes from every menu. And their orange and poppy seed hotcake were the best. The rum & raisin gelato was next level and complimented the pancakes so well. Highly recommended the cafe.
Deliciousness!! Its always a unique experience and is the best breakfast in SEQld!! Food : 5/5
Have been there a while ago foid was so good returned today Well I was so disappointed food so confused flavours didnt gel at all way over spiced what a shame was fantastic but wont be making effort again
Always amazing, been coming here when I can for the last 5 years and every time is beyond great. Deserves 6 stars, thank you
Great customer service! Food and coffee were average but enjoy the place so much.
I always try to make it here on a trip to Brisbane, I m so happy I did again on this trip. Perfect brunch menu, solid coffee, and the service was really good - the lovely crew member at the door helped us get a table as quickly as possible on a busy Saturday so we could make it back for our hotel check out time. Well done guys, thank you.
Loved the food, loved the atmosphere!
Morning After. is always packed and busy. We love the carbonara here and the Vietnamese pancake, it s a shame that it s not on the menu anymore.
I ordered the orange poppy seed hotcake with a long black coffee. It was absolutely delicious. This is actually a walk outside of the usual bacon and eggs that I am known for always ordering and I couldnt be happier. It was a marvelously refreshing breakfast. The staff were all incredibly friendly. Service was quick and fantastic. The restaurant was clean. Everyone there seemed to know that this would be the place to pick for a good start to their day. There were other items on the menu that grabbed my attention, I may have to visit again before I go back home.
Excellent, food was good, coffee as well and also the service.
Famous brunch spot in West End. Coffee is very good, if you are a coffee fan, highly recommend to visit here!
The food is 10/10 - I still dream about the pancakes I had. The only part which is a bit frustrating is the waiting time...you could be waiting 45 minutes to get a table.
Not too bad, I had the smashed avocado and a flat white the coffee was nice but will definitely say extra shot bit weak for my liking, food was quite small for the price, but the flavours were amazing. I was greeted with, take away coffee?? Im not sure if thats the standard greeting, but I found that odd.
morning after is one of my fave west end go-to s. coffee is good, baristas are a vibe, staff are always lovely, and the food is delishhhhh. a bit on the pricier side but it s a good enough time that i ll let it slide
Beautiful food and coffee. Very nice spot and friendly staff. Couldnt fault the place. Easy 5 stars
Fantastic experience
Great food
We got coffees and the Wagyu burgers for an impromptu lunch yesterday. Surprisingly, they were a side of some of the best fries either of us had ever eaten; ever. Burger was perfectly balanced. Meat was incredible, cheese was sharp and matched well, pickles were tangy, sauce was just right. Amazing value at $25. I only regret not having a sparkling water or soda with it, however, the coffees were great just like they always are! Service was also lovely.
Tasty and well served !
For a group of 6 we had a 45-minute wait time which we were happy to do because the food looked delicious. Service was good, our waters were being topped off regularly even though it was really busy. Food came out pretty quickly considering the restaurant was fully packed. I got the truffle Mac n cheese croquettes and they were delicious! Definitely generous servings here.
For me Morning After Cafe is one of the main go to places in all of West End. Why? Because Id its a decent meal or just coffee with friends, either way this place satisfies. What gives it that extra edge I believe it the wide open corner outlook with huge Balinese style windows bathing the room in great light. Theres outdoor seating if its a fine day, too. The real icing on the cake is the excellent service. I find the staff are keen to ensure you get what you expected. If Im by myself I can sit by the bench and look out onto the street rather than just looking at people trying to enjoy their own thing. So for me, thats what gives this venue four stars. If Google Maps had the option Id be inclined to go 4.5 stars. The food I had was excellent. Banana pancakes. Nom nom nom.
Order the Fried Chicken Benedict!! Best food in Brisbane! I don t usually leave reviews on google but I had to let you guys know how good the chicken is!!!!
Terrible experience in brisbane.
Morning After is a great brunch-lunch place! It had a busy, bright and clean atmosphere. I ordered the Fried chicken benedict, potato & corn waffle, poached eggs, friarielli, chipotle hollandaise which was quite tasty! The potion size was generous, the poached eggs were runny, the fried chicken was not dry and the sauce was flavourful with a subtle tangy flavour. Conversely, I did not love the friarielli as I personally felt it didn t match well with the rest of the meal, and I would ve loved the corn waffle to be a little more crispy! We had to wait around 25 minutes for a seat so I would recommend booking if possible. Additionally, the service was extremely accomodating and attentive - I had an enjoyable dining experience! Parking: On a Saturday midday, it was quite difficult to find parking as only street parking available. On the weekends, it is free, however on the weekdays, it is paid.
Our first breakfast experience here. Service was so friendly and fast. We had a great morning! Great Food. Amazing vibes. Coffee was to die for. Highly recommend!
Morning after is a delightful, youthful cafe in West End with a vibrant atmsophere. The coffee here is exceptional I highly recommend this cafe to anyone in the area!
Very friendly and good service. Food is freshly prepared. Very creative and still yummy with big flavour. Very impressive with the rendang, highly recommended! But be prepared to wait 20-30 mins for a table on a weekend!
Great airy, buzzy, place for brunch. The food is fresh and very well cooked. Coffee was great too. I think we went back three times during our stay - a perfect spot for brunch.
We waited all week to dine here for breakfast on Sunday, we came early to avoid the anticipated wait. I dont mind waiting when something is good, but the hotcake and pea fritter where raw in the middle, we brought this to our waitress attention and were offered a free coffee, but we found the coffee milky and week anyway, so we declined the offer. Definitely didnt live up to the hype, there are better choices for Sunday breakfast out there.
incredible food and drinks (ive owned 5 restaurants, some highend) Came for luch. Totally loved the seafood pasta and we ate the fish (best artichoke hearts Ive ever tasted). Had a lovely glass of rose. Wish I could have tried everything. Presentation was perfect and taste was that of a chef who knows what they are doing. Service was friendly, owner was lovely. Decor nothing special but comfortable and clean.I will certainly be back,.It was a 5 star experience
Service was incredible and food was delicious. Best breakfast experience I ve had in a long time.
Food is delicious and service amazing!! Sarah was super lovely and attentive. Best brekkie/lunch spot
Juno s service was fantastic! She was very professional, friendly, efficient and lovely. Place was very busy as usual, but you can book for 5 or more people. Otherwise usually about 20 min wait in busy periods. Good food options. Some more traditional and basic Australian cafe options would be nice, but then maybe it wouldn t have the same character. Very happy! And good coffee.
Fried Chicken with poached eggs and waffles nailed it. Great place!!! Love it, always busy for a reason. Feedback: love the idea of changing the menu every now and then but would love to see the blueberry pancakes back on the menu. Definitely mine and my partners fave! (Abit sad it wasn t on the menu anymore) but the fried chicken is definitely a winner!
Food was delicious and the setting was nice. The servers were very friendly and attentive. Iced chai was very mild but not too sweet so it was nice
Best scrambled eggs on toast that I ever had. The coffee is amazing as well!
Staff was attentive coffee was good a little concerned about the red inside mamuffin patty especially when it contained pork
Great meals. Service has an odd vibe but its their thing I guess. Moody and lacking joy and excitement. But if youre into seriousness youll probably like the service.
Everything is great!, But for some reason Yianni wont send me Baklava to Tas??
Two of us seated by the window stools and all of a sudden got asked to move down against the column(limited space/leg room), cause oh your were not supposed to sit at a split section to leave one stool empty on the right. Mind that it was Fri 10am and running 60-70% capacity. Looked around, plenty customers came solo and took 2 seater s tables, and a dual even took a 4 seaters. Non of those customers got asked to give up there tables or scoop to the left or right. So why were we targeted? My decaf latte was fine, but the decaf long back was executed very poorly - extremely sour and bitter. Won t go again. Just a pretentious place for nothing.
Started with a batch brew and soy latte, both are excellent. Food was mind blowing and amazing, will definitely revisit again. Food
Amazing cafe with awesome staff and the best breakfast around. Do yourself a flavour and get in there asap.,
Wagyu mamuffin and truffle croquettes are yummy!
Nice place to have brunch
Food was so good omg, the eggs Benedict was actually the best meal Vegetarian options: Toast Food : 5/5 |
Service was delightful, as were the orange poppyseed hotcakes! Look forward to coming back.
Found this cafe from The Urban List, and it didnt disappoint. Excellent unique food. Delicious coffee. Brilliant service. Cant wait to go here again.
Food was average, customer service was really disappointed
Really lovely spot always busy and lovely Staff
Coffee and atmosphere was good. Service was great!! Menu looked good but food was just okay. We had a special of the day and the recommended Carbonara. Food : 3/5
Super cute and yummy food, the place itself had a range of places to sit with different vibes. I STRUGGLED choosing what to eat because everything sounded so good. I had the hotcakes which were awesome and so filling and the boyf was super happy with his meal too. Very modern trendy vibes and good value for money
Smoothies and food were yumm ..
Good food. The service not good at all, they just drop the food and coffees on the table, when I approached to the till to pay they never asked how was it, they just drop the bill thats it. Maybe for others there are small or insignificant things but for us is the most important thing (services)for coming back to a premise.
Usually love this place but the new menu was a lil disappointing (well what I got specifically). The breakfast bowl just felt like a bag of Spinach with not much else to it. The breakfast bowl they had on the previous menu was awesome. Staff are really friendly and lovely.
Came here with friends who had glowing recommendations. They were right. The food was great and we all had different dishes. I had poached eggs with potato and cheese hash and they were really good. Great place.
Great vibes. Nice music, delicious food and highly attentive staff even though it was packed out. Highly recommend! Food
Came in for breakfast, amazing food, but more so the service was amazing. Thank you to Sidrah for accommodating for us, and communicating while we waited for our table!
All foodies report here immediately! BEST breakfast in Brisbane by far! The mushroom truffle croquettes were absolutely delicious and the breakfast carbonara was out of this world! Delicate, fresh, tasty, sexy.... ALL the things! All the staff are really friendly and the coffee is great! Food
Good food Efficient waitress Very busy and kicking venue Just a pain to get a table if you re there during peak hours
We only went for cakes and coffee and Im SO glad we did! The cakes were moist and perfect, the oat cappuchinos were amazing and the staff was incredibly kind! Thanks guys :)
Thank you meriva for your amazing service and hospitality! The food was stunning and delicious, atmosphere on the Saturday morning was great, cant fault this place. Will definitely be back many more times to come.
Finding parking around the restaurant can be a bit of an adventure, so be prepared! When the place is buzzing, theres a vibrant atmosphere thats quite lively. By lively, I also mean noisy lol and I felt myself getting hoarse trying to converse with someone opposite me after 20 minutes. So if that s a deal breaker for you.., consider coming during less busy times if you prefer a quieter setting. The service team is friendly and accommodating, especially when it comes to swapping ingredients. Its refreshing to find a place thats flexible without any added costs, as long as its within the same price range. We were a group of 13 and I noticed other meals looked appetizing too. Bill splitting is allowed, which is a bonus in a group situation. Though Saturday mornings seem to be peak times, I do recommend this place and look forward to coming back, perhaps on a quieter day. Vegetarian options: They don t have separate fryers, so if you are a pure vegetarian, or have strict dietary issues/concerns, be warned. Don t have the fried food options.
Absolutely love this place. The best breakfast options and the coffee is great. The Maras s are really friendly and have a good range of baked goods for takeaway options. The breakfast carbonara is a really good option - very worthwhile to try! Highchairs are available for kids. Bathrooms with changing table are around in the back lane (disabled bathroom) if you need it. Pet friendly if you can nab a table out the front. Sometimes there is a small wait as it can get quite busy on weekend mornings. Kid-friendliness: High chairs and bathrooms. No play area though
Top class Cafe delivering on all fronts. Super friendly with delicious food We had chicken Benedict, surprisingly spice but delicious and the daily special I cant remember ingredients but had honey bacon yummy which I stole some. One visit wont be enough
Another good place to go in Westend. Foods taste amazing!! one of the top cafe in Westend. Had Carbonara and egg Benedict. Carbonara was very unique and tasty. Egg Benedict came with a waffle, sth different but waffle was very dry. Coffee~ hmm okay! but not a place to coffee. Traffic;;; hard to find parking~ plus so many waitings waited 30mins, Sunday morning.
A weekend brunch destination that not only offers an intriguing menu but also showcases the art of plate presentation while maintaining good quality.
One of the best places for brunch on planet earth!
Great food and atmosphere! Will definitely come here again :)
This cafe is always pumping and the few times I ve been there never disappoints. The food is incredible as are the juices and the service. If you are looking for incredible outing look no further than the morning after
This was a recommendation from someone on reddit and took the chance and was an great experience. We got here around 9:40ish, just had to wait for 20m, it was a Sunday so it s busy but it s worth it. Very nice service, amazing food, and if the day was sunny it could ve been an even more amazing experience. Would recommend to anyone coming to Brisbane. Vegetarian options: You can make a lot of dishes veggie or vegan and they turn out delicious!
Fantastic food presentation, Excellent chicken eggs Benedict and croquettes. Great coffee and freshly squeezed juice. This venue should have much higher reviews than 4.3 Food : 5/5 |
Excellent service, professional staff and very accommodating.
Well cooked eggs and great coffee. What more do you need?
Very tasty good value. Coffee fantastic
The food here is subpar and the portions are tiny. I spent 26 dollars and got an avocado and half a bun. I could have eaten 3 of them for the size of the dish My partner ordered crumpets and they seemed to be from woolies, with half a spoon full of blueberries and half a spoonful of ice cream. Will not be coming back here again Food
I was able to truly enjoy the local feel and was impressed by the taste and kindness. I will visit again if I come to Brisbane again.
Awful. Very noisy. Breakfast and coffee almost forced fed to get us out so the the next customer could come in.
I came across Morning After by chance as I was looking for a cafe close to a specific store and Im so glad I did! It was a great experience from start to finish. Service was attentive and friendly, absolutely faultless. The vibe of the cafe was buzzing and I loved the retro chairs. There was a bit of a wait on the food but the place was packed so that was to be expected. When the food did arrive, it was fantastic. I had the sausage and egg muffin and it was to DIE FOR! Im not usually a breakfast person but on this particular morning I was a littlleee bit hungover so the situation called for it and the muffin hit the spot. Its now 3 weeks later and Im still thinking about it. I was there with 3 other people and everyone else loved their food as well. Just a couple of things - it can get quite loud in there as they fit a lot of people in a small space. Also, parking can be difficult to find nearby.
Portions are small and definitely not enough to feed a whole person. Prices are not cheap, you can expect over 35$ per person for a meal and a drink. Service was poor at best. It took ages for a waiter to come over and a time that was not too busy. I asked to be seated inside as it was hot and there were many empty seats inside yet I was still seated outside. Parking is hard to find so expect a stroll around the neighbourhood.
On arrival a staff member was extremely rude and aggressive to us because we sat down first. Really friendly to another couple who did the same but whom she knew. No signs about seating requirements. Waitress was impolite and short with us as well. Provided room temperature 38oC water to drink. Other couple given cold water with glasses of ice due to heat wave. Coffees were lukewarm. Crumpets were undercooked, doughy and inedible. The baked eggs were quite good but very spicy. The close tables and dog friendly Cafe meant the dog beside us kept licking our feet. Very expensive for hit and miss food, poor coffee and extremely bad customer service. Parking: You will need to park 2 blocks away in meter parking and be prepared to walk. All parking near by will be taken and there is no Cafe parks.
