I just had my second visit to Suburban in a few weeks for breakfast. We were greeted very warmly by Craig instantly on arrival and offered drinks. My husband had an amazing coffee and I chose to indulge in one of their flavours of Mimosa s. Then we snacked on Haloumi chips while waiting (not long at all) for our meals. The Chef at Suburban is not only a wizard of flavours, but an artist to boot! Everything I have ordered here is just delicious and perfectly cooked and presented. The potato and feta hash are addictive! All the while being looked after very attentively by Craig. The service and food here is outstanding and I can t recommend them highly enough. See you guys again soon!

I went there today for eggs Benedict. Used to be $12 their special for 2 eggs Benedict and I get served for the new price of $14 One egg on one wee bread! I ask them to correct this omission no problem they belatedly add another egg but it s flat on the plate, as there s now still only one wee bread! I gave up on my $14, on explaining how to make eggs Benedict and left.

Really nice food with a good selection and the coffee is fantastic. Great friendly service; couldn t ask for more. Will definitely add this to my list of favourite places to relax and enjoy a delicious meal and coffee.

Dined here this morning - amazing service and incredible, filling, good portion size food! Coffee was gorgeous too. Would back purely for the service!

An unassuming cafe but we were surprised by how well seasoned everything was. The Breakfast Nachos do get quite wet & it would be nice to have a crunchy element (fried onions, or double fry the chips etc!)

17/05/24 - Excellent coffee, it was amazing. The barista and waiter were friendly and fast service.

Employees were lovely. Unfortunately food was quite disappointing and made me nauseous. Did not reflect the photos at all. Had burnt toast, burnt fritter, hash brown tasted old and a bit dirty, avocado was brown and onion tasted old as well.

Surprisingly good, hearty size meals, we had the king and queen breakfast. The hummus was really cold which made the plate cold and subsequently the whole dish but the flavours and quality were great. The coffee is lovely. I did let the staff know about my cold meal so hopefully they will fix this.

Food was not seasoned at all. We ordered Eggs Benedict and the mushroom crepe and both were totally tasteless. We had to put a lot of salt on the dishes so that it tasted a little bit like something. The service was very friendly though but they forgott to bring an extra portion of poached eggs that we ordered. Of course thats human but I still wanted to mention it. Furthermore the hot choclat I ordered was not hot anymore and you also have to pay an extra dollar if you want to have your warm beverage in a mug. The waiter didnt tell me that its extra, thats not okay. The dishes looked fine but for the quality of the food we payed way too much.

18/5 @ 11.45am The waitress that worked this shift was horrendous. She served me the wrong order, she spilled coffee on my food, she slammed cutleries on the table, she was having a really bad mood. It was my second time here. I had a lovely time the first time. But I wont be coming back. Theres other cafe nearby with better service. Gotta do a better job with hiring.

Food was fantastic, ordered a Eggs Benedict with bacon and Chorizo, didn t even take 10 minutes. Friendly service, and good coffee. Would recommend!

A quick stroll to get to from the apartment. Nice and local among other restaurants, local enmities and grocery store. The customer service here was friendly. Nothing to fault. Welcoming staff. Gave us space and time to decide. Ordering food was nice and easy. Used via app as well if you want. The food was delicious, we all enjoyed all meals very much. Good portion and definitely worth it for the price. You get a really decent amount which is always nice. Well presented, cooked fresh, came out hot and nicely done. This is what I expect when going to breakfast spots for this price. It s not the biggest nicest scene, but for something close by and local like this. It s seriously so good and worth while. Nice space for children or parents with prams also. Great experience. The drinks was also made super well. Was surprised because it wasn t too sweet or too bland. Perfect blend. The kids enjoyed themselves also. Just want to add the biscuit it comes with the coffee was the best complementary biscuit I have ever tried in my life. Wish they sell it in stores. Thanks again for a pleasant experience. Made our trip to QLD so fun. Highly recommend for those coming in or out of state or even a quick visit or stay.

I recently visited this café for brunch with my family, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. Booking was a breeze, and the menu offered a fantastic range of options, from classic Benedicts to mouthwatering KFC burgers. The coffee was exceptional, and the food, personally speaking, the Finger Licking Benedict was amazing - the chicken and waffle combination, was simply divine. The staff were accommodating with our special requests, contributing to a delightful experience for our group. The ambience was cozy, and the presence of fans and air-conditioning made it comfortable despite the hot weather. Ample street parking, along with the cafés easy identification, added to the convenience. Overall, a stellar experience cant wait to return for more!

The best breakfast I have ever had. We were greeted at the door and our order was taken at our table (very rare these days) The staff were very accommodating to our requests. Definitely worth a visit if you are in West end or Southbank. I had the Kings Breakfast, it had mushrooms which I dont eat so I was able to get them as a side plate so my wife could have them instead. The onions were delicious, and had an excellent seasoning. Chorizo instead of sausages or chipolotas is a master-stroke. The relish was superb.

Had breakfast here last Saturday and just had to bring the family back Wednesday. Loved the Korean Fried Chicken with waffles and poached eggs. Delicious. The staff were super helpful and bright and bubbly. Had a brilliant lunch.

Amazing food and great service. Has multiple vegan options rather than a token salad. One thing was that it was very hot- need aircon rather than a fan.

The milkshake was fine but the chicken titbits were horrendous. 3/4 were burnt and completely inedible. I dont recommend this place at all.

My husband and I had breakfast there this morning. We ordered mushrooms on sourdough, avocado smash, juice and coffee. Our food was tasty, my latte was good. What I didnt like: the juice was iced (we didnt ask for ice) and our table, after it was wiped, was wet and sticky and I had to go for napkins to wipe it again. It would be nice if the waiters wiped the table a second time with a paper towel so that it was clean and dry. Overall good place for having breakfast! Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian/vegan options.

NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE !! I enjoy a good burger and West End has some great lunchtime specials. The burger at this cafe is the worst I have ever had......and the most misrepresented. The photo on the display board highlighted a good sized pattie, bacon, cheese & salad. Unfortunately, it was a very small pattie, accompanied by only cheese and two thin gherkin slices. The bacon and salad were nowhere to be seen. The staff are excellent, but cannot compensate for an inferior product or a decision made by the owner. The burgers at both the Swiss Deli ($10:50 ) and Amins ($8:95) are far superior.

GLUTEN FREE We got to substitute the toast for some two AMAZING hash browns. The kings breakfast was big enough for two with a huge avocado on the plate! The green matcha latte came with rose petals! Wonderfull place. We will be back again. Kid-friendliness: High chair ready to go and the staff took care of our young man

The food and coffee here is incredible!! Alana helped us and she was so kind, welcoming, and warm. The coffees came with Biscoff cookies which was so lovely. The food was nourishing and has lots of gluten free/vegan/vegetarian options

I popped in for breakfast and found a great range of vegan gf options! I had the sweet potato stack which was amazing. Crispy sweet potato & thyme fritters with fresh pico de galo (salsa) lots of Advocado and crispy kale chips. It was delicious and the coffee was great too! I enjoyed this cafe. This food was nice and tasty. Price was also good. That being said, service was not the friendliest but also nothing bad happened. They also charge 3 dollars to swap out ingredients on the menu which is the biggest downside of the cafe. I have not heard of any other place doing the same. This was concerning especially for me as I was allergic to a menu ingredient which was used a lot. Besides that, the breakfast nachos had a boring taste profile after the first 5 bites. I would recommend the Queens or Kings breakfast.

Ridiculous pricing and service and I won t be returning. If someone doesn t eat bacon for health reasons they shouldn t be charged extra - on top of what s listed on the menu - to just swap it over. I thought it looked nice walking past. There was a dish on the menu - hash brown with avocado eggs and bacon on top. To swap bacon for salmon on a different dish, was $4. To add it to a dish according to the menu, was $7. It cost nothing to remove the bacon. BUT. To swap them they wanted to charge me $10, an extra $3, for the swap. It was eggs on a hash brown. Not difficult to do this. Even just remove the bacon and put salmon on the side I would ve been happy. But no. They wanted to charge me I questioned - so if I wanted both bacon AND salmon that would be cheaper? The girl serving admitted it was confusing and ridiculous. I told her I was going to give a bad review which I hardly ever do! And she didn t apologise she just said even though you didn t eat? Which was clearly the point. And that she ll tell the manager later. I didn t order out of principle, and will not be going back. We all know how much salmon costs at the supermarket and I think a little bit more hospitality would be appreciated. I would ve understood the $7 as was listed on the menu. But $3 to swap it is insulting and ludicrous. Dietary restrictions: If someone doesn t eat bacon for health reasons they shouldn t be charged extra to just swap it over.

I always liked to go here for some of the signature dishes but have been completely put off the place by an experience with the waitresses this morning (15/09/2023). I dragged my Asian friend in here who was very reluctant because he had some negative experiences with the service in the past. When we went to the front of the place, we were completely ignored by the waitress and not seated. Some people just walked past us and sat down so we proceeded to do the same. The waitress then proceeded to walk past us and serve other customers for a good 20 minutes, including seating and taking orders of several tables who came in after us. All the while, we tried to make eye contact with her and the other waitresses behind the counter who just quickly looked away while grinning smugly. After finally getting the attention of the waitress on the floor after waving and calling out to her, she gave us some long spiel about how she couldnt see us while the girls behind the counter burst out into laughter. She let us know that our food will be cooked last and we will have to wait until all the larger tables that came in after us got their food. We then also finally got some water and menus. After an excessive wait by which all the tables which were (incorrectly) served before us had already finished eating and left, and several tables whose orders were taken after us had already gotten their orders since quite some time, we finally got our food. I am not sure if this is a reflection of the owner and business policies or if the staff at this place is just completely out of control but I will not be back. So sad that these kinds of things are still happening!

Such an excellent brunch place. I love how they have so many gluten free and vegan breakfast options!! They are allergy friendly which was so nice. It was so tasty and the service was so good. I had the Queens Breakfast and it was so delicious. I ll definitely be coming back!! Highly recommend.

I am truly impressed by the exceptional service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to accommodate any requests. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. The barista even remembered my preferred coffee order after just one visit!!!!

A nice place to have brunch. They offer the classic brunch dishes and drinks at an affordable price. This is not the coziest café but it was a pleasant experience overall.

Visited a few weeks ago with a large group, they were able to accommodate us with a table outside once some patrons cleared out. However, they never really came back to take our orders after coffee and we had to call them to serve us even though the café is table service. I made it clear to them that I have coeliac disease. Their gluten free options are extensive. I ordered a Queens Breakfast as I was overwhelmed by choice. When I asked for Gluten Free they came back later and told me that the fritter contained gluten and they would need to remove it. I cant be sure that they didnt already put it on the plate. That weekend I broke out with dermatitis herpetiformis (which is a blister formed in response to consuming gluten). If your dish has a gluten free option make a replacement for it as I had to basically beg the waitress to find a replacement for the fritter and was offered one slice of haloumi as 2 would have cost me extra. It started to feel like accommodating me was a massive hassle for the waitress even though she didnt have to do anything. It isnt fair to have to pay the same amount for a dish that has less food. :) It was tasty and we were not rushed to finish our food which was nice. Good to go to if you have a gluten *intolerance* or have no dietary restrictions.

Wow, oh wow. The coffee , it was amazing. Young girl in their is the Barista of Barista in West end. Vegan eaters heaven, gluten options too.The food was phenomenal, had great flavours, texture was off the chart. The food was made and prepared in such a mean way ,hat off to the staff all round. I went there after three years. They used to be good but this time, I was really disappointed! I ordered the egg Benedict and asked for crispy bacon but they forgot! The hollandaise sauce and the choice of very thick bread were also disappointing. I couldn t finish even half of my plate. I think their chef has changed. I don t recommend this place.

I placed an uber order but when it arrived it was missing two items so I rang to tell them and ask them to send it to me but the girl was quite rude and said oh sorry weve been really busy this morning and theres nothing we can do to help, surely since they made the mistake they could have sent someone with the missing items but they were very unhelpful

I ve been at Suburban last Sunday. I ordered the Eggs Beni with crispy bacon since most of the cafes serve soft, but instead I received burned bacon. My friend ordered a Breakfast burrito that came without cheese and sauce (not sure what, aioli maybe). The highlight was the potato rosti, really yummy.

Got there near closing time expecting them to turn us away but took the chance after a poor experience up the other end of the street. Glad we did because the food is well prepared with fresh ingredients. Coffee and Eggs Benedict very nice. The potato rosti is a nice touch! Service with a smile and good attitude. This is very rare in West End. Thank you for sticking to your advertised closing time and feeding us and the 4 other people that came in after us. Will be back!

Deliveroo orders get ignored. I pass an order, and it just waits to be confirmed for 20 minutes. Then I have to cancel it because no one picks it up. This happened several times. Food

Friendly staff and aesthetic food. I loved that there was a vegan breakfast option of a more fancy avocado on toast. I thought the sweet potato chips were a fun addition however I think the dish would be better if the beetroot was not pickled. It made the whole dish very sour. I loved the inclusion of a lotus biscoff biscuit with each drink for takeaway and dine in.

The chicken schnitzel burger lunch special for $10 is such a steal and is incredibly tasty! The chicken was Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Altogether with the bun, lettuce and cheese was so much better than I could have ever expected. Highly recommend for a tasty and cheap lunch!

One morning, i went to this cafe before work with my dad. This Indian kid who seemed pretty new but also smart at the same time impressed me in many ways. He treated me with much respect and had a lot of passion towards his job. Thanks to Suburban Cafe for making me a new friend and hiring the right Indian for the job.

Everything is yummy and also looks amazing. They cater to dietary needs and have a vegan iced coffee, if you are lactose intolerant and miss an iced coffee this place is for you! If I lived closer I would be there more often.

Because I made a reservation with several friends, the drinks and brunch menu came out a little late, probably because there was a backlog of orders. However, it was delicious and I think it was a reasonably priced meal. It was convenient because you could place your order with QR at your seat (fee: O)

I had a very pleasant experience here with tasty brunch during Christmas. We ordered the Christmas Special - White Christmas. This one is very nice with different layers of flavour. We also ordered the sweet potato with halloumi, this is good as well, I like the sweet potato balls (taste like the surface of Scottish eggs), halloumi was a bit dry and salty for me (maybe because they serve big ones ). Further, the açai smoothie is average, but beautiful.

Everything about this place is 10/10. Location, staff, coffee, price, social distancing and the food...my lord the gluten free options are endless. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. If anything, the portions are too big We live within walking distance so will see you again soon. Hint: Google maps has it placed wrong. Just keep walking about 40m around the corner of where it tells you to stop.

Has to be right up there as one of the best breakfast cafes. On my short trip up from Melbourne I only tried about 6 recommended breakfast specialty cafes and Suburban was the best. 10 out of 10 for sure. The venue itself is nothing that special but the friendly and relaxed staff provided fuss-free efficient service that was first rate. Would highly recommend.

Nothing special. The breakfast bun bread was burnt. Other food(Egg benedict & gnocchi) was bad. so disappointed.

Best coffee in Brisbane! Hands down. Plus, they have Alternative Co oat milk and theres no beating that! The nachos are sooo good - made with curly wedges instead of regular nacho chips, yum! Always very friendly, knowledgeable service and the space is beautifully designed with an interior that feels cosy and relaxing to hang out in.

Pretty good food, staff very friendly. Not the best location (on a busy road in West End), but it was open on a public holiday which was helpful

Yum!! Walked in on a whim being local to the area. Delicious. Zucchini fritters were very filling. I even ate the pea shoots on top. Cappuccino was great, good strong coffee. Great options for non-meat eaters. Staff so kind, food came out quick and cleared away in a timely manner. 100% coming back.

I can t speak highly enough of this place. As a vegan it s SO rare to get a meal I m really impressed by, and I m so thoroughly impressed with this place. I haven t left the table yet but had to review it so everyone else can experience it! The baked gnocchi is Well done guys, you run a great cafe!

Pork was raw - ordered a cheeseburger that was also red in the middle - food that was 26 dollars for big breakfast, and then getting a small amount plus raw food is not good. Go somewhere else.

Amazing coffee and beautiful food.

My 1st time here & I had the best experience not to mention the food was amazing I had the eggs Benedict with avocado & halloumi with an iced coffee with froth omg it was the yummiest iced coffee I ve ever tasted The workers were so friendly! Highly recommend this place!

Amazing menu! I wanted everything on the menu. It was vegan and vegetarian friendly, there was also a great drinks menu including alcohol from 10am. Ordering is easy, all via app from your table. I got the zucchini fritters with extra eggs. It is relatively expensive but it was delicious so worth paying for it. All the other meals at my table were also beautifully presented

The 12$ egg bene during the week is my favourite pick me up! I ve always received great food here and I m constantly recommending this place! Not to mention their coffee is some of the best in west end!

Absolutely amazing! Suburban West End has got to be one of my favourite cafes in Brisbane. The staff are absolutely friendly, and I loved the overall atmosphere of the environment and the cafe. The menu is fantastic and offers so many delicious breakfast and lunch options, and all the drinks looked incredible! I ordered the Iced Chai drink, Sweet Potato and Halloumi and the Zucchini Fritters, and it was AMAZING! Highly recommend this place! Thank you Suburban West End!!

A cafe in the middle of bustling West End. Gets quite busy on the weekend so you might want to book. Theres everything you would want for brunch - solid food, coffee and cocktails (after 10am)! They have new specials every weekend to keep things fresh. Service was very friendly and warm.
