Food was great and came our really quickly so absolutely no complaints there. Unfortunately, apart from a few grunts/noises to acknowledge me, the owner or staff member running everything barely said any more than a handful of words to me the entire time I was there. It probably wouldn't have killed her to smile or actually look at me while I was ordering, hopefully it was a once off. I won't be going back though.
Fantastic lunch special of the shredded garlic pork, it was superb. The other dishes I saw people eating looked great. Not a run of the mill Chinese but absolutely a must visit again for me.
Fair price, large portion size. Food tastes are reasonable. But don't bother unless you live locally.
Your reliable Chinese restaurant for taste. Not bad but also nothing too exciting. The noodles texture was on point, al dente. But the menu is catered towards spicy lovers. If you can’t deal with red pepper, I will skip this place. They can also catered to your dietary needs like no MSG or no coriander, which is a big plus. Water is self-served with a plastic cup.
Mapo tofu lunch special, it comes in big portion and value for money.
It is a northern Chinese restaurant, so I won't recommend you to try any southern dishes like braised seafood and bean curd hot pot. Their dishes are delicious and big in portion. Ideal for someone who like spicy Chinese dishes and noodles.
Stumbled upon this place by accident. We ordered 4 dishes including chicken, fish, vegetable and tofu along with 3 bowls of rice. The food was good and the price quite reasonable. All in, it was under AUD100. Happy to recommend this place for Chinese food.
I've had breakfast at all the 4+ rated places in West end over the last week, Eros has clearly been the best. Good coffee, delicious fresh juices ($6.50), and a good selection of yum breakfasts in the $10-15 range. Perfect service as well. The only thing you can fault the place for is atmosphere, but I don't really care about that.
Great authentic Chinese food. Very large portions.
Really good, and erring more towards being authentic Chinese food when it comes to what we would usually expect in Australia.
The stir-fries are pretty good, but the desserts are really hard to describe
Best Asian food in West End. Their Cumin Lamb and Mabo tofu are particularly great!
Food portions were huge and delicious. Service was very quick and attentive, will definitely be back.
Don t order any dishes that are not northern dishes, that s all. I strongly recommend the boss to remove all Sichuan and Hunan dishes, which will reduce the chance of customers stepping on the wrong side. The noodles I ordered today, husband and wife lung slices, and boiled beef were all very unpalatable. But there s still no big problem with northern dishes like Jumbo Tofu.
Overall below average dishes
Average taste
I recently dined at this Chinese restaurant that seems specialize in Sichuan style cuisine. While the ambiance was decent, the food was a letdown. As someone who grew up in the region, I found the dishes to be poorly executed and lacking in authenticity. Its disappointing and I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone looking for a genuine Sichuan dining experience.
There are peanuts in Beijing noodles with soybean paste... I have never eaten this kind of noodles with soybean paste in my life. The problem with Husband and Wife Fei Pian is quite big. It uses vegetarian meat but is written as beef.
The sweet and sour pork is good, but the spicy chicken is really the best chicken among the peppers.
Very delicious
This is one of the most disgusting boiled fish I have ever eaten. After waiting for more than an hour, I got a piece of boiled fish that smelled of Chinese medicine. It cost more than 30 yuan, only seven or eight pieces of fish, but the fish was still cheap pangasius. The house is full of cuttlefish slices. I m drunk and will never come back to eat again.
Very genuine taste of the northern cuisine of China. The wok fried chicken is a must try!
I ordered a fried rice with chicken and I did not get chicken at all. Just tons of rice.
Quaint and excellent service. The food was delicious.
I recently just moved to Brisbane and so happy to find this chinese restaurant. The food is delicious and authentic and the service is friendly. I ve been back for so many times already. Highly recommended.
Cabbage and beef was extremely salty and there was only 7 tiny slices of beef. So if youre sharing, each person gets only 1 or 2 slices. Fish soup was extremely sour. Mapo tofu had too much pepper.
I normally have a higher standard for Chinese restaurants, but this one is quite good. We ordered four dishes and liked all of them. The chicken pot is a bit pricey but the dish itself is huge. We are thinking to visit them again this weekend. Since its in Brisbane, I think it is better to explain whats Mao Xue Wang in the menu. Im not from Beijing but I still dont know what does this dish includes, not to mention people not from China.
Hot pot was amazing
If you love Chinese foid, this is a place to go. Great food!
Great food, great rice, great fried ice cream?
Not recommended... All dishes ordered are too salty with a small portion and overpriced. Especially for the chicken feature dish(near $40), the only taste in my mouth is salt, salt and salt, and the size of chicken likes fingernails...
Dining in on Monday. Even not many people in the restaurant, but I still wait for 40 min get nothing. Waiter told me many people order it using app and take away. But this is a dining in restaurant. Very bad experience.
This restaurant is quite satisfactory, the kind where you won t feel it s a rip-off, nor will you find it particularly surprising. Strongly not recommended I almost don t recommend it. Mediocre, no merit or demerit Quite good, worth a try One in a million, impeccable Name of dish: Sweet and Sour Pork Recommendation index: Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the batter is not thick and just right, the portion is generous and the taste is good Name of dish: Farm style large kidney slices Recommendation index: It s amazing, it s extremely salty, the seasoning is weird, and the kidneys are old and hard. Name of the dish: Stir-fried pork sausage with hot peppers Recommendation index: Very salty, small portion of sausage, not cost-effective, average taste Name of dish: Old Beijing fried noodles with soybean paste Recommendation index: If you evaluate this noodle according to the standards of old Beijing fried noodles, its side dishes are all wrong. None of the side dishes that should have been put. But his sauce tastes quite fragrant. Although it is not the taste of the traditional sauce of old Beijing fried noodles, the sauce tastes good and fragrant. Moreover, the portion of this noodle is large enough that two people can share it. It is a more distinctive noodle, but it is not the old Beijing fried noodles. To sum up, their food is moderately priced, but not cost-effective. Except for the sweet and sour pork tenderloin, the other dishes all taste average. But we didnt order their signature dish either because we dont like spicy food. Personally, I think the four spicy dishes printed on the wall should be their signature dishes, but we didnt order any of them. If you like spicy food, you can order some of their signature dishes and you might get something unexpected.
He swore at us and called my 5 yr old son the b word and the d word as well as the a word
very nice and fantastic food. Especially the sichuan boiled fish, so yummy. And friendly customer service
Not delicious and expensive
Friendly shop owner, fresh and natural environment, tasty food...love it
Dad and I were lucky enough to stumble across this delightful cafe. Excellent coffee, wonderful juices and plenty of vegetarian and vegan options! It was so good that Dad and I returned the following day
Seems to be under new management. Now terrible coffee and terrible pastries. Will not be back again.
Had the sausage brekky burger and my god it was the tastiest thing Ive eaten in a while. The omlette on it was light fluffy gooey, just all kinds of delicious
OMG. The place to be in West End. 10 out of 10. Had the sugar cane juice, bagel and a coffee. Loved it.
Really nice and comfy, full of love and Jajecut
Great food and incredible service. A family business that we love to support and come for Saturday brunches! One of West End hidden gem!
This cafe was the perfect place for Sunday brunch. The coffee was made perfectly. Though breakfast was a slight wait (not unusually long for 2 big brekkies), the food was so worth it!
Good food great price nice staff
Beautiful and comfortable place. Good food and coffee. Great staff.
An amazing little spot in West End! Dont be misled by the chosen English name of Beijing Noodle, for this place is so much more than its noodles. That being said, its namesake noodles are not to be slept on! Chewy, springy, likely handmade (a rarity in Australia!), these noodles are the stuff of dreams, what the Japanese famously termed the sensation of umami, and what the Chinese refer to as the much sought-after QQ mouthfeel (so-called for the similarity of the letter QQ to the Mandarin Chinese word for chewy, referring to the bouncy springiness only found in handmade fresh noodles). Furthermore, the noodles come steeped in a true broth, the signature translucent golden-brown that is the hallmark of hours and hours of prepared stewing with juicy bones, herbs, and an assortment of fragrant oils, the same method and heritage that later passed onto, and can be found today in, Japanese ramen and Vietnamese Ph , amongst others. The stores name itself in Chinese, , is actually translated more into the Neighbourly Streetside Eatery, referring to an earlier time in history, when the very best of Chinese eateries could be found in less-traveled, little-known corners amid the winding maze of streets and shophouses in olden Chinese cities, often lodged in-between actual residential areas, often having their origins in a local housewife or home-cook being so proficient that their neighbours would pay to eat their food, and via word-of-mouth alone could have their delicious dishes become so sought-after people would hazard navigation through the labyrinthian city streets of ancient China to have a taste. Keeping in mind this was before the age of Google Maps, this is quite a statement to make! And Id personally say this place deserves the name theyve chosen! For everything Ive tried - from the varying broths and lengths of their noodles (offered in thin, thick, and flat), to their cold dishes (traditionally known as drinking dishes, or alcohol-paired dishes), to their piping-hot, wondrously fragrant, cumin-peppered stir fried dishes, were deliciously satisfying! Even the décor choices, while some might criticise as old-fashioned, I found intensely nostalgic and poignant, reminding me of earlier times when I traveled the mainland in search of their best cuisine. From the proudly colour-printed pictures of their food on the walls, to the old-school fanciful bordering on the walls, it all strikes a familiar chord, and warmly reassures you that youre in for a properly good, old-school Chinese feast.
This fried ice cream is really delicious!!!!!!!! This is the only restaurant I know that has this meal, I recommend everyone to try it~ Moreover, the service attitude of the waitresses is really good, and they are all very good-looking~
Traditional Chinese restaurant. Taste good and service is great.
The dishes are all delicious! The first time I came here, I ate Private House Fried Chicken, Old Beijing Fried Soybean Noodles, Fried Ice Cream and Lamb Soup Braised Noodles. Its very fragrant and has a large amount of food. Its very satisfying after eating. Maybe this is the burden of sweetness. And the shop assistant girl is really pretty and elegant
The service is acceptable, the dishes are average, the pricing is slightly high, and the taste is average for the same items
First time dine in. Friendly service. Ordered 4 dishes 2 noodles, all exceeded expectations. Will return.
Very good restaurant, I highly recommend their lamb noodle soup, delicious!
Great food great service
Delicious smoothie. Wonderful service. Definitely going back
Wonderful espresso!
Tried different coffees twice after changing ownership, nonetheless.. They both tasted nothing like before. It used to be one of mine favourite coffee shop, but I might not go back. Edited: Hi your email address is not found.
Such a vibrant cafe in West End! Great coffee and treats, simply delicious
Healthy food! Friendly service! Looking forward to enjoying a cuppa after backyard upgrade!
Coffee tasted like bitter hot water, and was $6.50 for a large soy latte
The ambience is great! As are the prices. The food was just ok though.
the ice latte with one sugar is really good for a jump start to your morning.
A good selection of sweet treats, not much for ambiance but the food is solid.
Excellent friendly service. Love coming here every week.
Excellent
