On top of all the deli food and warm welcome they have brilliant sandwiches & hot chips with a fast turnaround. I love swinging past here for work lunches.
This place is honestly life changing. The lasagne? Best i’ve ever had honestly dream about it at night and think about it all day. The sandwiches, oh my god they are so insanely good. I would eat food from here every meal for the rest of my life. The service is incredible too. I will never in my whole life forget how amazing this place is
I've been coming here for years, I don't know why I didn't leave a review before! I love this place because I'm from Spain and it's like travelling back to South Europe for a bit! It's a family business, zero fancy because they know well what actually matters is the size of the portions, the quality of the products they sell, the excellent customer service.. and the sandwich station!! 💕 They truly look after their customers. Aside the take away and dine in lunches, breakfast, sandwich station, deli, coffee etc I also really like checking the little things and traditional products they have around from Portugal, Italy, Spain.. and chatting with the family about South Europe!! 🫶
What an amazing small business, had the door opened for my partner and I and was greeted by a kind gentleman who asked me how my day was going. We got the deli meat baguette, the young fella serving us was super kind and giving us recommendations on salad and sauce options. So cheap and adorable, $11.20 for a loaded baguette is insane! Wow! Definitely coming back even considering this place to cater for my wedding one day. 10/10
Swiss Deli was a delightful find with its wide variety of options. I had lunch there, and was impressed by the extensive choices available for my vegetarian friend, as well as the generous portions. Located in a trendy corner of West End, it offers a casual atmosphere perfect for a quick visit. Whether you're grabbing takeaway from the deli, or enjoying breakfast or lunch al fresco, both options come highly recommended. I also found the prices to be quite reasonable, averaging around $20 for a meal with a drink.
Such an incredible and interesting place. The service from the moment we walked in the door was warm and welcoming, the young man (I assume the son of the owners) stepped us through how to order and after we decided on the ‘Tony’ and chips he offered us coffee. The sandwiches were packed with ingredients, truly making it an Italian style lunch. The baguette sandwich had strong Mediterranean flavours, rich with freshly made toppings. Would definitely recommend coming here and giving it a go.
We popped in at 1:30 on a Thursday. There were folks inside the shop, but the staff were very friendly and efficient. We were served quickly. On offer was a diverse range of the most amazing delicatessen delights. Olives, cured meats, pastries, meals, desserts, canned goods, coffee supplies, plastic Virgin Mary statues that I suspect glow in the dark… Here was an amazing collection of wares. We bought Portuguese tarts and some other sweets, but will be back for the savoury delights. Outside was some great places to sit to enjoy the meals on offer. A superb place to shop for any meal.
Been here many times over the years & their special breakfast is always consistently good. They do two versions, one is vegetarian, the other with bacon & sausages. Comes with coffee or juice for around $13. Always serve their breakfast with fried onions... a rare commodity these days with breakfast, Produce is also usually free range & of good quality.

Great food and products I come here alot for breakfast the head deli guy has a bad temper and voices his anger Hes a young guy still maturing......its a shame where some skill sets are in place but some sentiments are missing He got angry with me one morning for repeating my order to him in the midst of him working anry enough to come across aggressive Ive lived with gang members and bad people all of my life as I grow older I see less control in the hospitality sector where people wish to parlay their communication as an authoritive end to all means The hospitality industry doesnt run like this it is no longer the 1980s you either level up your communication skills or better off being in a back room somewhere filleting chickens All other staff are kind to me....since that day he now can not talk any longer with me as I told him he needs to learn to communicate better and control his anger A shame...hes probably a half decent guy

I have been known to drive an hour (or more) to specifically eat, and have a coffee here. Diamonds in the rough such as the Swiss Gourmet Deli are very few and far between. Service, value and authentic goods reminiscent of the old lands. Yummmm, I feel like going for a drive now.

I have been going to Swiss Deli for many many years. The quality of the food and the service has always been top notch. It is my secret little place to have lunch by myself and watch Boundary Street go by although I usually run into people I know. My fav guilty pleasure is smoked salmon, cream cheese and capers on white bread with a cup of tea.
Its a place with really friendly staff, a local atmosphere, and delicious food. I ordered Big Swiss and Long Black and the coffee was really deep and strong. The food was also fantastic. I want to come back again.

Best deli and cafe in Brisbane! Ive had the lasagne and spaghetti Bolognese with side salad, both were excellent, home made and great value. They have an awesome selection of smallgoods and a stocked sandwich bar which is hard to find nowadays. The Italian Hoagie was awesome, done with oil and vinegar as well as what the Americans would call banana peppers. The Reuben, is loaded with their home made corn beef and on fresh rye, its legit! For me though, The Tony is their masterpiece. Prosciutto, eggplant, camembert and a fig jam that really brings it together as well as pickled onions. Its a ridiculously tasty sandwich. Really friendly service too and its obvious that they care about the food they prepare. Must try if youre a local or visiting :)

Can t believe I haven t been here before. I ve always noticed this place but never thought I d try it until today. No regrets, and probably won t be my last time either. Upon entering you re spoiled for choice. I ended up sticking with my streak of Reubens and boy was I impressed. As soon as I picked up the paper wrapped baby reuben I could feel the heft of it in the palm of my hand and could hear it crying to be eaten. As soon as I opened it up I was greeted by a lovely head of sauerkraut, then when I hit it from the back those those lovely corned beef lips waiting to be eaten. Thinly sliced and full of flavour, obviously the star of the show with the supplementary sauce and odd pickle. The cherry on top was that it was $12. I could cry because I know my wallet won t have to. Staff were friendly and a delight as you would expect. Wrapped up with a nice treat of a Portuguese tart for lunch bringing the total damage to a mere $16.8 (inc cc fees). Its unique businesses like that need to stay open. Looking forward to the Tony and a custom sandwich in the coming future. Thank you!

This place is an institution in West End. Id never heard of a Rueben sandwich until I came here - and now Im addicted. All of their sandwiches are delicious. The coffee is also 10/10. Plenty of good pastries too. The staff always to happy to see you. If you havent been here then you havent really been to West End.

Amazing food and coffee! I went there today and was pleasantly surprised with their Rueben sandwich. This is definitely the most delicious sandwich I have ever eaten in my 21 years of being alive. Great value and taste for their prices! Staff are really nice too
Perhaps the greatest sandwich I have had - The Italian Hoagie. The ingredients are allowed to speak for themselves. No spreads required when you have quality ingredients working in harmony.
I called up looking for a particular limited edition product on the market that was selling out within the first day of supply and the lovely Maria was so kind to put 2 aside for me as they had just received a second supply that day. I went in and the two men working there were super friendly and telling me about how quickly this product was selling. I was lucky I called ahead. Thank you Maria!
If anybody wants exceptional fresh food then I recommend you go to this delicatessen. Wonderful friendly service very exciting delicatessen and pleasant enough to eat at their small tables. I will certainly be eating there again whenever I am at West End

Burger with chips lunch deal plus Portuguese custard tarts, absolutely amazing! Wife isnt a fan of Western food, but cant get her to stop raving about these. The tarts are a must! And the whole meal is such a good price (you could pay lots more and not get this quality and flavour).

Delicious!! Went here on a Saturday for lunch, even with the distancing rules in place we were able to get a table within a short wait. The food was definitely worth the wait, I had the special which was a Rubin Sandwich(soo good), and my partner had the veal tortellini in a creamy carbonara sauce(delicious) highly recommend this place!! Dont forget to grab a couple of their famous portugese custard tarts too!!

Long May They Reign! Brilliant old-style Continental deli selling all sorts of European pantry items, including frozen whole Balcahau! Excellent Reuben sandwiches to rival those of New York, plus whole lot more eg, Italian Hoagies, baguettes, etc and great coffee. Will Be Back!

Just plain old bad attitudes and service. Was a time this was my favourite place for brekkie but same old people still there and look like they need a break. I need of a complete facelift otherwise not going to survive!! Try the Jacaranda coffee lane nearby, then compare.

Great options for yummy food
Staff know the products well and there is a lot of variety for them to know! I asked to be surprised and was made an amazing hoagie sub with like 3 meats, cheese and salad with dressing. Took me back to New York in a single bite. They also have a huge selection of stuff to take home including cakes. Definitely worth a visit for quality poduce at pretty decent prices.
A cosy, sunny & unpretentious spot: a perfectly made cappuccino; an inexpensive but generous breakfast ($10.95 for the Veggie Special, eggs poached exactly right)... What more could I girl want on a lazy Saturday morning? But if you did also want to nab some gourmet cheese, meats or a Portuguese custard tartlet to take home with you - then this lovely little place -with only-friendly & cheerful staff - is a grand place to start.

Nice staff. But the sitting area have so many flies. The Big vege and the Big swiss breakfast is really big. Not recommended to Asian girl who eat not much. The staff is friendly but there are a lot of flies in the dining area. There are 2 big XXX breakfasts. If you have a big appetite, you can try it, but for Asian girls/people with smaller appetites, it will be too much.

Love the old school vibes of this place. Swiss deli have become our local coffee shop - we visit these guys weekly. Awesome coffee + food, the staff are lovely and extremely accommodating. We have been going to Swiss Deli most Saturday mornings for breakfast for years. Their breakfast deal is unbeatable.

I never go back today the service was rude as to my ,mother buying there she spent $30 and lady on counter treated her with no respect left her to serve another one and did not come back to ask and was plain misery .. they turn over lots of money dont care. I rather got to New farm deli where they treat you so well there .. lost me and west end looks dull end .

Has been my go to brunch/lunch favourite for years and seems the prices seem to be stuck back there too ;) I d rate 6 stars if I could!! (... just noticed someone rated one star but then noticed she had also reviewed McDonalds twice now that makes sense.. taste needs to be acquired ;)
Such a gem, the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere gives you a really warm and welcoming feeling. The food is very well priced and is absolutely delicious. Theres is a wide assortment of pies, quiches, desserts, and other baked goods. Perfect breakfast destination.

Great Food and Catering
Very cheap food but very high quality. It only cost you 10 bucks to get a filled dish and add up to about 5 bucks to get a drink. Its very difficult to find a filled breakfast nearby the central of city region. The staff are fridendly and offer you a comfortable service. The restaurant isnt a modern one but tradionatiol. You just sit by the road and enjoy ur food. U cant feel you are in a really busy city but a coutryside. I highly commanded the tourist come to have a breakfast here as a start at Brisbane. If you were disappionted at Brisbane, you may have change your mind after you had a meal.
