26 Hoogley St, West End QLD 4101, Australia
traditional fish and chips, burgers and homemade potato scallops as well as the freshest variety of seafood
The food was just ok. The fish and chips were average and the greek salad was a bit better than average. The problem though was that there is no free water! You have to buy a bottle of water if you want water with your meal. When you’re spending $25 on a lunch, you would hope you can have a free cup of water to drink with it! I wouldn’t come back here because of the lack of free water.
Delicious! Family friendly business, family owned. Consistently doing the best fish and chips in west end, super close to orleigh park. Perfect for a picnic or quick lunch before ferry trip across the river. Tasty fresh fish, crispy chips and generous portion sizes.
We had chicken nuggets for the kids, steak sandwich and chips on Friday night. The staff were very friendly however the wait was 40 minutes (would have been good to have been told this), the steak sandwich had lots of gristle and the nuggets had a soggy texture and strong odour. Probably partly my fault for ordering things other than seafood.
We had buttered and grilled flathead. It was so delicious. The first time for me and my husband had been here the third time always tastes great!
I really wanted to like this place. I hate to slam what is clearly a friendly, family owned small business but the meal we had tonight was terrible. Our fish (flathead) was so dry that it was like chewing through fish jerky, the batter was bland, burnt and undercooked all at the same time. The chips were limp, undercooked and unseasoned. Both our salads were full of dirt and quite literally inedible. The desserts were nice. Again, I hate that I am writing this about a local business.
The fish was juicy and tender, but the batter was thick and tasteless, not at all light and crispy. The potato scallops were literally raw in the middle, and over-smothered with the same lifeless batter. The calamari was very ordinary. A generous portion, but rubbery and obviously mass-produced elsewhere and delivered frozen. Very very disappointed. Can’t understand the high ratings. This is the second time we’ve tried it, and completely underwhelmed. We won’t be back. Our local pub does better fish and chips.
First visit. Faultless service, clean and well presented shop, quiet location. Good sized serving at fair price. Served with lemon wedges - always a sign of a fair dinkum establishment. Calamari tender, and obviously home done, but lacked much flavour. Chips thick, and a bit dense ... if only they were just a little crispier - I sooooo wanted to give them a perfect score. Very tasty looking salads and desserts too. Worth another try though.
Barramundiiiiii Fresh fish with crispy batter and nicely fried. Did not feel oily at all. Incredible. They also have juicy sandcrabs so ready your napkins
Been here a few times now, great tasteing food, fresh and delicious, great service and super quick!
Fantastic Fish and Chips and amazing service
Tasteless, expensive, cod is really disgusting and fries feels like dip in the water
Fast clean and good customer relations
As a local, I finally tried Thalassina, and it was absolutely fantastic! Their weekly deals are not only super affordable but also offer incredible quality. The customer service is amazing. Highly recommend!
Best. Fresh and beautifully cooked in freshly grated bread crumbs and your family hostess and your hubby What are winning combination Parking: No not yet been there with out any parks Kid-friendliness: Friendly staff Wheelchair accessibility: Flat surface 4 entering the Shop
This is the best fish and chips we have had for a long time. Would recommend this place to everyone. Parking: West End
Typical corner store fish and chip shop, good specials, good quality food, very reasonable prices
This place used to be good. Just ordered Uber eats for family and threw the majority of it away, really bad. Wont order from here again
A great place to have lunch ! :-) Vegetarian options: Yes Vegetarian options Wheelchair accessibility: Street level
Best oysters by far....and reasonably priced!
Great fresh fish and amazing service
So good! Love our fish & chips with ma girl Aka Judy! Thanks guys!
Cute little shop run by lovely people. Good coffee too!
Great Coffee.
Always exceptional service and food
Good value for the quality, very clean, very good service, nice to have a good fish and chip shop near home.
Brilliant food and service. Oysters were to die for
Good coffee and the baklava is to die for!
Had two types calamari with chips as share-plate with my wife. Same as last time - very tasty and well delivered! Coffee fresh and hot :) Full point for service, very welcoming atmosphere :)
Had an interesting experience, I ordered a steak sandwich and was not very impressed. The meat was dry and chewy and it was overloaded with lettuce. Fish was quite good and chips were close to it! They do have a nice wide selection of options to chose from so I will note to order something else next time.
The fish and chips we got was perfect. Super friendly service. They were knowledgeable about their fishes and gave recommendations based on our preferences. Must try!
Nice Greek salads fetta is always delicious and I love the Greek shortbreads.
This was the first time that I have been there but I can say i will be back the food is cooked perfectly and the chilli muscles are perfect and very well priced same for the rest of the seafood. The lady behind the counter is ever so pleasant pleasant
The food is magnificent and Im a real snob. The service is family and the value seems impossible these days. Free caesar salad with a fish pack, this is crazy. Fish is really fresh and generous and as high quality as you can get. My wife said that it was the best fish and chip shop burger shes ever had and the calamari is flawless. I cant recommend them high enough.
Sometimes food is dry and a bit over cooked. But other times its tasty.
Tasty fish and chips, lovely owners and good pricing. Cant complain... Food : 5/5
Clean and reasonably priced, I ordered battered flake with chips. Flake is a cutlet of either shark or ray with an oily texture and distinctive odour Ive enjoyed flake for over 40 years and served it in my own restaurants. What I got was delicate white flakes somewhat like whiting or hoki... well cooked though!
Great little place to eat, easy parking, food was fantastic, fresh, reasonably priced as well.
I m very happy with this takeaway fish and chips shop. Good service with consistent food quality. They have never let me down.
What a great fish and chip shop! Ive had a few orders from here over the past year and theyve all been excellent and good value. Even the humble cod is served at a decent size, nice and thick and cooked perfectly - not overcooked and dry. And the crumb isnt oily. The potato scallops are nice, and they always throw in an extra one or two if any of them are on the smaller side. And the seafood salad is always packed with seafood flakes and a very good amount of prawns (the normal ones, not those tiny tasteless ones). Note that when you buy any of their fish and chip packs, it includes the choice of a salad - with seafood salad being one of them, making it even better value. Im sure theres other good fish and chip places around. But I often find their prices a bit steep. Whereas with these guys the quantity, quality and price are all good - so I dont have mich of a desire to go elsewhere.
Great service , great fish. Really happy. Food
Quality food and convenience! A regular since opening. Highly recommended!
Excellent food, variety and attention
Absolutely superb meal of fish & chips. Fish - fresh as if just caught, perfectly cooked, beer batter chips deliciously crunchy. We took our meals down to the river. Perfect spot for a delicious takeaway meal Parking: Park immediately outside the cafe
We were most unlucky - ordered battered fish and it the batter was very thick and raw inside making it the worst fish we ve ever eaten - we threw it in the bin and went and ate somewhere else - maybe they are good at other times or better to order fish crumbed but we are afraid to try again.
These guys know what theyre doing. Awesome fish and chips.
Calamari are fresh and really decent size. Friendly staff.
The best fish and chips Ive have in Brisbane city and the Service from the Team is top notch !
Thought we would stop by for some fish and chips. Ordered the $15.50 package that was highly disappointing. Everything in the package wasn t edible due to either being well over cooked or well undercooked. Could have easily gotten food poisoning from the raw seafood. Safe to say we will never return, nor recommend this place.
Great tasting hamburger with the lot, nice size fillet of tasty fish .Generous serve of chips.
Best fish n chips in town , love it
The only old style fish and chips shop in West end to my knowledge. Basically affordable, good portions, and their calamari is fantastic. Always fresh.
Were locals and love having this place nearby. Good quality, reasonable prices, and nice people.
Best fish and chips I had in Australia! Fresh, tasty and convenient. Very recommended
What a hidden gem if youre not a local. Not greasy, good portions, great service and music whilst the busy chef weaves his magic ! Sea Perch and Flathead meals...to kalytero ! To be enjoyed 1 minute down the hill, by the river at Orleigh Park.
Ahoy there! Avast ye, mateys! I recently had the pleasure of visiting Thalassina Fish & Chips in West End, and let me tell you, it was like a taste of me childhood memories. This place knows how to do fish and chips like they did in the olden days - none of that fancy schmancy stuff, just good ol fashioned chippy goodness. The first thing that struck me was the way they wrap up the food in paper. Its like a warm, comforting hug from your nana. And speaking of comforting, the portions are hearty enough to fill even the most ravenous of bellies. And if youre like me and cant have fish and chips without a sprinkle of chicken salt, fear not - Thalassina has got you covered. The seafood is fresh and delicious, and the chips are a work of art. Theyre crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and just the right amount of salty. The only downside is that the quantity of chips you get is based on dollar value, so it can be hard to know how much to order. But hey, who doesnt love a good chip surprise? While Thalassina may not be the place to go for a fancy sit-down meal, its perfect for a quality take away. And the staff are as friendly as can be - theyll make you feel right at home. So if youre in the mood for some fish and chips thatll make you feel like youre sailing the seven seas, head on down to Thalassina. Just be prepared to walk the plank of deliciousness - its a one-way trip to flavour town! Arrr!
Fresh and delicious. It s not so expensive as well
Fresh and delicious
Very authentic and delicious, stumbled across this place and ate on the outside seating, fish is yum ( I had the flake) be keen to try the burgers next time, price is good.
BEST FISH AND CHIPS! i get my fish grilled and it s such a delight. chippies are good. the lil greek salad is an extra treat. love.
Awesome experience
Clean store. Quick friendly service. Great food
Great value for money old style fish n chip shop. Home made potato scallops instead of those pre-manufactured ghastly yellow ones that have no taste. Lovely family run shop that is warm and friendly with some outdoor tables if you want to eat while there. After another West End shop doubled the price of their Qld flake ($15) we could not go back. Very happy with Thalassina.
Friendly reliable local F&C with a good range of fresh fish, greek salads and coffees. Fast for phone orders.
Great fresf food, clean open cooking area, hapy well presented staff.
Great fish and chip pack , good value, well presented, choice of salads.qiick friendly service
Super kind and friendly service and fish cooked perfectly!
Clean, welcoming and food was delicious
Best fish and chips restaurant in West end. Among my top 5 in Brisbane.
I have been a regular customer for nearly two years. To put it simply, this is the best fish and chip shop in West End 4101. Excellent variety in the menu, excellent quality of food, excellent sized servings, excellent value in price, excellent service provided by the staff. I love the trifle desert! Try the trifle :) Whatever you decide to eat, I am confident you will enjoy your food and be absolutely satisfied with the experience. Vegetarian options: The best chips in the area. Big cut potato style, Generous serves. Corn Jacks available, I love the cornjacks.
I could not eat it. I ordered flake and chips, and a tub of tartar. The fish was like rubber, chewy, massively over processed, and nothing like any flake Ive received previously. It wasnt flake. It was barely luke warm inside, and overcooked (burnt) on the outside. The chips, mot many of them for $5, were so overcooked I couldnt eat them. Theyre cooking with too high a temperature. Tartar sauce isnt meant to pour. The watery mess in my tub tasted awful and old. They have a sign on the front counter something along the line Brisbanes best seafood. Ha! Mine ended up in the trash. Sorry to be so negative, but consumers need to be warned.
Very clean and welcoming atmosphere, very friendly staff, fresh seafood selection, we had fish chips and salad and was very happy, portion size was spot on, price was very reasonable. The house made Greek salad and deserts are awesome. Will definitely gp back again. Very good fish amd chips are hard to find.
Thalassina serves fresh fish and chips and have good customer service, however it is disappointing when it comes to the inconsistent serving portions for chips. They sell chips on a $ value, however some days, you can get a lot of chips, but some others you dont. This is an example of $10 beer battered chips. I personally feel like I got this serving when I paid $5-6. I wish that Thalassina changes their chip model to just standard portion sizes (e.g. Small, medium, large, family). That way it is always consistent across the board.
Traditional fish and chips and decent selection of fresh cold seafood. They even had yellow fin tuna. Excellent business
Fish and chips are all soggy and smell long time used oil. Wouldnt return. Food
Good local fish and chips shop place in west end
Thassalina has quickly become our go to fish and chip store. From the lovely service and fresh produce, to the wonderful atmosphere and great variety of foods and coffee, lunch at Thassalina s is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.
Great range of fresh and cooked seafood options to eat outside or take away
The best fish and chip shop in Brisbane is here!!
Was really shocked to hear this was voted one of the best fish & chips in Brisbane! Fish was way over cooked, dry, hard and tasteless. Scallop must have been crumbed and cooked while still frozen, because the fishy smelling defrost juice just goes everywhere when you bite into it, and it s only half cooked on the inside. Chips tasted ok, but a very small servings for the price they charge at this place. We spent $70 for 2 adult and a 6 year old child s lunch today, and would typically spend $40-$50 at our usual fish and chip shops elsewhere in Brisbane. The thing that concerned me the most is their storage and handling of their fresh seafood in the window. You can see that lots of the pieces of fish looks like all dried out from sitting there in the cabinet and not wrapped with plastic etc. As I was waiting for my order, I watch them get a spray bottle of water and just keep spraying the dried out fish pieces to keep them looking a bit better. This is a serious breach of food safety breach as it encourages bacteria growth, and spreads it around all the trays inside the cabinet with the potential to cross contaminate. Please stop doing this because you will make people really sick one day!!!
Tasty and good servings
Overpriced and just ok. Food wasnt bad, but not great. Fish was a bit dry, and the chips portion in the meal was tiny. Too expensive for such mid-quality food.
absolute rip off! the $5 serving of chips was not only gross cardboard tasting but was a portion was just enough for one person and was very stingy. the crumbed flake tasteless, old and dry. dreadful experience. Food
Excellent food
Full points (first time ever for me)! Had salt&pepper calamari with chips and coffee - food was perfect, portion generous and flat-white coffee tasty :) Service friendly and welcoming. Can only recommend, will be back!
Best fish and chips in West End! The crumbed Barra was absolutely beautiful, salads were fresh, my husband had his fish battered and it was perfect. Calamari are HUGE!
Super fresh barramundi fillets & crunchy and fluffy chips
Was exceptional. Food, service, cleanliness, and cheerier staff Recommended dishes
My favourite fish & chip shop in Brisbane. So good that we take the ferry across the river to get there.
Outstanding quality food. Amazing service, family friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend
Unfortunately, there was way too much thick batter, and the fish, potato scallops, were not cooked long enough to adequately crisp the batter. The batter was actually moist and slightly gluggy.
Very good fish, and you dont have to wait too long before it comes to you.
Delicious, good price, we love it.
I pass several Fish n chip shops to come to this one, there platter for 2 is awesome keep up the great work Bang for buck (AAA+ seafood shop)
Amazing food and amazing staff! Calamari is top notch! Keep up the Great work
Ordered a barramundi meal, the fish and salad were good. However I was not given lemon or tartar sauce that is advertised as supplied with meal orders. So it was dissapointing to get home and not have the condiments that are meant to come with the meal. This is my first order too, unhappy with lack of effort ensuring the meal order is correct.
I got the cod and chips for around 14 dollars. The chips were mid, the cod was good. I think it was worth the 14 dollars, if only because the fish was bigger than I expected. The guy at the counter was nice, though.
Always service with a smile here. Great range of food. I once had an order mixup and it was recooked in a flash even though I didn t expect it, and done without any hesitation. I was very grateful
Good takeaway fish chips for the price
Id definitely go back for the food .. not much for the music though. Drop the DJ please. Music is just too loud.
Great to see the return of the old fashioned fish and chip shop to inner Brisbane, but dont expect anything special. The cod was good, the chips were just OK but the potato scallops were disappointing; small, shrivelled and lacking flavour. They appeared to have been prepared some time ago. I am not sure what recipe they used but the wrong variety of potatoes seemed to have been used. Much better ones can be obtained from the Three Girls Fishing restaurant in Graceville.
Top local chippy! The staff are Salt of the Earth People selling plenty of things salted from the Earth! Well the seafood is great! But what I appreciate most is that classic fish and chip shop hamburger and chips. It reminds you you dont need a brioche bun and special herb mayo and all the other garbage to enjoy a burger. Better value, and healthier because they havent found every way to get more sugar and fat into it! Just a good Australian chippy burger!
rude, wrong dinner, argumentative, antagonistic, just typical behaviour from a take away. did I have a meal, no, did I pay for a meal, yes. was I sworn at by an aggressive person. yes.
This is just what west end needed, a tasty fish and chip shop. Run by the most lovely couple. Fish is always fresh and delicious, we recommend
After spending over $50 and asking to use the loo while I waited for my food to be cooked (not unreasonable at a place that offers dine-in and clearly had 2 toilets onsite), I was directed to the nearest public toilet at the ferry terminal. The multi sec toilets were so foul I returned to the shop to ask again where some decent toilets were to which the response was Woolworths. Apparently the public can t use the on-site toilets in case they slip over . By now the food was ready and after spending 15 minutes locating and driving to Woolworths my overall perception of this place is bad. As for the food, who would know it was stone cold by the time we ate it. We won t be back!
My husband and I had fish, calamari and chips and thoroughly enjoyed it all.
I had some oysters today and it was absolute terrible! Out of the 6 I had, 3 were OK but you could feel it wasn t fresh as all, 1 was completely rotten and the other 2 I had to throw away so I wouldn t get any stomach infection or something.. very disappointed!
Very good! We had fish &chips and a chicken burger, it was tasty and fresh. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will go back
The fish tasted and smelt unfresh, the crumb was thick and indigestible, the chips smelt of old oil, a very disappointing meal . Definitely wont be going back
Was fanging for a steak burger and just happened to be driving past without even knowing the place existed. Great burger and was really quick. Yep, thats my go-to for future steak burgers.
A definite 5 stars to the staff great service and the food is fantastic will definitely go again
Lovely staff great food and service
Very good burgers, nice store, average chips. Average prices.
Great fish, decent chips
So fresh and delicious. I highly recommend their superb meals.
Dont miss the coffee and cookies during the day, a top spot to dine on the pavement or take away
5 star fishery! Great portions, excellent service. The best potato scallops I ve had in a long time. Would recommend this place to anyone.
WONDERFULLY AUTHENTIC!!!!!! At last a genuine, value for money Greek fish n chip shop in West End. Maybe the best chips in the country!!!! Fantastic selection of very fresh seafood and salads perfectly cooked and presented. For an extra treat go for a Burger with the lot followed by a fabulous Greek desert homemade by Aunty!!! Takes me back!!!! Whilst I was waiting I took a stroll around the side to check out the striking mural painted on the side of the building - BEAUTIFUL!!!! Worth the trip and I will definetely make this business a regular stop.
Our go to for perfectly grilled fish & crispy chips in West End. They never disappoint.
Fish & Chips - Greek style. Just how it should be!
Over priced, over rated and over cooked
Just keeps getting better if that s possible Crumbed oysters , homemade potato scollops , sweet lip mmmm just beautiful again and again
We stumbled across Thalassina seafood by chance...what a great surprise, freshly cooked fish and chips. I can highly recommend them as Im so used to eating dry over cooked rubbish, but not here delicious! Try them.
First time Visit - Clean, reasonably priced, nicely cooked, Beer battered chips were worth the extra, highly recommend, will be back
I like the atmosphere and services provided by staff, and of course, taste :)
The meal deal hit the spot and satisfied my tastes without a car overload.
Tasty homestyle burger and delicious tender calamari. The chips could be better but Im sure they would have been if Id ordered dine in so they werent sitting in the paper. Also speedy service from a lovely couple.
Good traditional fish shop. Very clean. Friendly staff. Crumbed cod and chips were great tasting. Didn t leave an oily after taste. Chicken burger was whole chicken breast. Very tasty. Definitely be back.
Amazing service and premium quality food! 10/10 Would come here again
You wont find better classic fish and chips anywhere else.
Stop for lunch with son after a West End shop. Good spot, great meal. Excellent service.
Had a delicious feast we ate down by the park by the riverside. Perfect! Lovely people. Fresh fish had the best tuna steak.
Very friendly service and delicious traditional fish and chips - would recommend!
Madddd as fish n chipps
Awesome fish and chips. So nice to get takeaway and then sit by the river.
Friendly staff, fresh seafood and good location 2 mins walk from bus station.
Occasionally overcooked but super fresh seafood and well priced.
Nice, fresh fish and calamari, and Greek salad, and rice pudding!
dont know why anyone would own a fish and chip shop when they cook both terribly
Only had chips which were good just the sizes are a bit average for what your paying.
Fast friendly service and the fish is always wonderful. We always have battered or grilled barramundi and it melts in your mouth. The grilled barramundi is in a lemony sauce - like nothing I ve had before.
This is definitely my go-to fish n chip Cafe! The fish is always cooked to perfection and the salads are so fresh and my meal is always complemented with just enough perfectly cooked chips. I live on the Northside, but the trip to West End is definitely worth it... good on you Thalassina
THIS is so exciting. Cooked to perfection walked to Orleigh Park and had a FAB time with friends and family! What more could you want ?
Good size serves.
Proper traditional fish and chip shop. Good price, tasty and good menu.
Really great chips and really good chicken salt! Will be back regularly. Didn t love the potato scallops though.
Enjoyed my first visit to this new fish and chip shop today. lovely fresh fish fillets on display and great service. I had some sweet lip as a meal which adds a small salad and chips. The fish I chose ( Perch) was cooked to perfection. A wonderful meal and I ll definitely be back
New fish and chip shop in local area, well organized shop. They painted a fishing boat mural on the side of the building which is kind of neat. Meal was reasonably priced...proper size piece of fish and chunky chips, salad was super fresh with nice dressing. Clean shop overall that is well kept and attention to detail. Only criticism is maybe a few more chips with meal order, the takeaway box was solid and easy to take home. Worth the money, delicious meal. Choose the freshest piece of fish in the display box.
Friendly service, tasty fish and chips. Definitely worth a visit
Good fish and chips
Good food, fresh and quick.
This was an excellent experience for us. We got a family feast pack (with sea perch) and took the kids down to the river at the end of the road, just after twilight, and ate incredibly good food, looking at the reflection of lights off the water. Was so pleasantly surprised at the quality and flavour of our food. It is rare to find this type of quality anywhere these days. It reminded me of the old Greek fish n chips you used to be able to get before they became gentrified and the food became flavourless, overly priced grease delivery units. It was only our first time eating from there but it is certainly going to be our go to fish n chipper from now on. Highly recommend.
My whiting was a generous and tasty serving. My partners snapper was ok. The fish on display would benefit from labelling their source.
The best potato scallops in the world!! REAL ones, not frozen imported ones like other fish shops!!
Slow and rude. Fish was forgotten then awful
Chips undercooked with no seasoning. Grilled fish was somehow wet. Wouldn t recommend. Update: oysters gave us food poisoning
Great value, great service, great fish and chips.
Old school rules!! Legit and fabulous fish n chip shop. So good to see a new business here and so charming that it is doing the basics and doing them well. Really took me back. Can definitely recommend. Buy some, wrapped in paper, take a short walk down the hill and eat them on the river bank.
First time and fantastic is the only way to describe the experience
I was soo looking forward to this. Ordered Snapper however the fish came looking like it had been commercially prepared (McCains) style. Heavy coating of bread crumbs and not much fish. No flavour. Chips were ok. Really disappointed.
Traditional Fish & Chips done with class. Amazingly affordable prices.
Service and food was amazing. Fish was cooked perfectly and the best oysters weve had in a long time. Will be going again.
Convenient location in the suburban street as it s easy to walk to. I sat outside on the street benches which were good. I did not like that the meal was served in a single use polystyrene tray and no tap water was serve -1 star The meal was served in a single use polystyrene tray instead of plates or just paper -2 star They don t serve table water and instead you must buy a bottle of water. I d suggest if you want to please some of the environmentally conscious locals you take a better approach. After all we don t want to be eating fish full of plastic. Will give 3 stars if mgmt. responds
Terrible experience. Fish seemed to be a pre-made, frozen product quickly deep fried. My fish was literally identical to pictures online from websites reviewing this place. The fish had also shrunk dramatically inside the nasty shell of fake crumb., This is usually because it has been pumped full of water in a factory to make it seem bigger and heavier. Plus, it was really rubbery and tasteless, just can t see how it was fresh. The chips were strangely dry and tasteless as well - I believe they are pre-made too. They seemed too dry to have actually been near a fryer. The staff are pushy and rush through the order process without asking if you want sauce or any other options. It s over priced and all served up in a polystyrene container - unbelievable. To top it all the chef drowns the whole lot in a mountain of salt. Probably hoping you won t notice how tasteless it all is OR that you will rush back and by more drinks.
Finally good seafood again
Its good to see a new fish n chip shop in west end run by greeks cause they are pretty good at fish n chips shops..We got a dinner pack that contained Little fish pieces shantys calamari prawn cutlets chips and tartare sauce..The portion was great and was quickly made there was a big disappointment to the flavor factor Where is the Flavor ot was bland like i was chewing nothing might be good gor the oldies that have lost there sense of taste and thats the majority of the crowd that was there that day, Its almost as if flavor has been lost from sitting in the freezer to long..The Greeks are known for flavor and without flavor u got nothing..also who ever made the tartare sauce please stop making it or learn how to it was too tangy didnt even taste like tartare sauce was a pale green color. I dont think ill be eating here anytime soon.. Thanks
Great local seafood and the best fish and chips
Fantastic traditional fish and chip shop with very reasonable prices.
Good food and good service
Decided Id stop by for a quick bite while my dog was getting groomed next door. Was planning on getting just chips since Im veg but to my surprise they had a veggie burger! And it was actually quite decent for a fish and chips shop. Plenty of juicy onion, beetroot, and fresh tomato. The party was made from vegetables and sweet potato (I believe). I ordered it with pineapple too and a side of fries. They had vegan dessert health bars as well. Affordable and filling. Also, service was super friendly.
Nice place, the food was good, we will be back.
Yum!
Impressive! Best in Brissie!
Lovely fresh and cooked seafood, very friendly staff. Cant get enough.
A yummy seafood basket for two. Tasted fresh and service was friendly and quick. A nice relaxed atmosphere.
Delicious fish and chips. Great, fast service. Good fish and chips are hard to find but we found them. Well be back.
Great value best fish and chips Ive had in ages the salad was fresh and crisp
A Greek owned fish and chips shop with a good variety of fish, served wrapped in paper, following the good tradition The chips look excellent on the outside, but as they are cooked from frozen, they were somewhat brittle and raw-ish inside. Could this be improved somehow? Also, an amazing mural on the side wall!
Excellent fish with plenty of choices. Great to have salads and deserts on offer too. Chips are not as good as the rest of the menu though. Could be crunchier...
Fresh, good portions, great service cant complain.
Great battered fish. Meal deal for family good value. Best baklava and home-made.
My wife and I shared the Platter for 2 and were very impressed. Beautifully cooked seafood and lovely chips too at a great price. Will be back
Had a seafood platter here today, cooked well service was prompt, will be back to try a burger which i believe will be of a high standard, will update when we purchase, would highly recommend Thalassina Fish and Chips to anyone looking for nice seafood at a good price with good service, Len
Great food, great staff, great price
Best value fish and chips in Brisbane - Old School Style. $3 paper rap chips $4 beer battered Service - fast and friendly When I was a boy in West Wollongong the fish and chip shop was run by a Greek grandfather who would put 1 long chip and 2 short chips in a little lolli bag because he knew it would keep us quiet in his shop. Wize is the Greek grandfather
Just what the neighbourhood needs!
Beautiful seafood and friendly people. A great little local.
