Went there for past night with the family, super affordable for the quality of the amazing food and the service.

Small family birthday celebration was lovely on Friday night at Bar Francine. The small plate menu is diverse and delicious with a wine list to match, great recommendations from the staff along with the service they provided. It s a friendly and relaxed venue , a wonderful choice and couldn t be faulted

I ve been to Francine several times now and it s always a great experience. Between the friendly team, the excellent wine list and delicious food, you are sure to be in for a treat! Either go for a date during the weekend when it s slightly quieter or during the weekend with friends when it s buzzing

Four of us had a wonderful meal at Bar Francine. We all ordered a different small plate and enjoyed tasting padrón peppers, beans, octopus and chestnut mushrooms. Then followed that with the risotto and fish dishes. Wow what a fabulous meal!! Flavours were all there for everything. Loved the food, ambience, service - the whole experience was 10/10!!! Will be back again.

Came here for drinks, thought it was a bit fancier than we expected, however, the staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and we instantly felt comfortable. A nice cozy place with a wide range of drinks. We ended up getting a small plate of assorted mushrooms as recommended, which easily exceeded our expectations. Will definitely come back again!

A sensational disappointment. They lost our booking, couldn t get their act together to great us at the door, couldn t follow directions on the martini order (honestly, why ask us how we have it), and that theme carried the night. I felt like I d turned up at a truck stop that was dealing with a bit of a rush. There s been a lot of hype for this place but I don t see it. For a venue that s a bit out of the way, it will be an easy one to keep out of the mind.

My husband surprised me by taking me to Bar Francine to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary. We loved the casual, unpretentious Euro vibe and the tapas packed the most amazing flavours. We had 7 different dishes and loved each one. The staff were all lovely and we were even complimented a glass of wine to celebrate as a congratulations on our anniversary. A cosy little spot with a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. We were originally drawn to the ambience, but the food was exceptional - in particular, the zucchini flowers on toast and grilled Jerusalem artichokes. Decent selection of wines; we had a delicious Sinapius Gamay. Will definitely return.

Very good restaurant. I would say that the dishes are served in the form of tapas, so in small quantities but be careful they are very tasty! The only downside was that the wait to be cleared was very long.

Food is incredible! Next level flavour but without the insane price tag. That being said, it is a bit more expensive than your everyday resteraunt, but it is worth it. The only issue is it can be a bit loud because of the location and size of the resteraunt but not unberably so. Vegetarian options: Definitely some decent options if you are vego.

Exquisite food, fresh, seasonal cooked with love. Could taste the vegetables and their texture. Plating was gorgeous. Staff knew the food and drinks and were passionate in their suggestions.

Food and wine was good. We were asked if we wanted dessert and were given the menu. After we decided he came back and said you only have 4 minutes so no dessert. Turns out they only have 1 1/2 hour sittings. At a wine bar? They didn t mention it once until we got booted. Wasn t even allowed to finish my wine. Very poor.

Impromptu Thursday night dinner so didnt have a reservation and were seated at the bar which was fine. Shared the garlic prawns, roasted fennel and the braised kohlrabi followed by the slow roasted peaches. The highlight was definitely the fennel closely followed by the dessert. Great atmosphere, interesting menu, attentive staff and a good wine list made this a great evening out.

Awesome little venue. Feels homey yet sophisticated. The wine list is pretty damn cool. The food we ordered was also interesting, different, yet very tasty! Will be back :)

My partner and I shared a lovely night together here. Our server, Hannah, was incredibly attentive and kind and really made sure we enjoyed our night. We had some of the best food either of us have ever eaten. Cant wait to go again!

Another great night at Francine. I love the buzzy atmosphere, the outstanding service, and the creative menu. As a gluten-free pescatarian, its perfect for me. I also love the foods seasonality and sense that theres a real passion behind every recipe. This can mean that some dishes may not be to your taste - it can be quite experimental - but Im not there for the tried and true. Theres an amazing wine list - it is a wine bar - and some nice cocktails too. I also love the old-fashioned crockery and linen napkins - a nice touch. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian and vegan options

Walked past and asked for a table, was told it should be all good and I should wait outside and they d let let us know when a table was free. Waited for about 25 min with two employees making eye contact and walked past us multiple times ( we were the only people waiting) and then got told there were no spots until 3 hours later. Would have been fine and I m sure it s a good spot but would have loved to avoid the wait.

Went to Bar Francine on their opening night with a big table (11 people for a work Christmas party) and it was stunning! Menu was delicious and creative with a focus on plants and seafood - made it so easy to take a large group with different dietary needs. The onion fritti with creme fraiche + mint was a stand out. Drinks were great - particularly awesome wine! The person who served us was delightful as was the bartender. Was also impressed at the value considering how much we indulged. Will definitely be back :) so glad youre in West End! Id give them 3 stars for my true experience, but Id rather be more constructive because they really nailed the food. They just need to sort out teething/service issues. We were seated and waited about 25 minutes before finally asking someone to take our order because they had clearly forgotten we existed. The same theme followed throughout the rest of the evening. They kept the wine bottles in their service area rather than leaving on the table - something that works well with attentive service. Not so much when you have to keep waiving someone down for a top up... Felt really bad having to keep asking for service but if I didnt ask, I wouldnt have got anything. No one explained the menu, all just very frantic and I hope this is just the opening jitters. In short, great food. Service although friendly, was truly lacking. Needs to be sorted out ASAP if they want to be regarded as a go-to. Hesitant to return, but I will eventually give them another crack I think. Approx $160 for two people with wine and quite a light sharing of food.

Bar Francine has made my belly so happy! I am constantly so excited about how much talent we have in the Brisbane food industry; the high level of service, knowledge and love of wines and incredible mouth watering food always seems to keep surprising and impress me. Bar Francine has to be right at the top of my list for all of these things. Located where All the green things once was, this 100 year old house has been through an impressive makeover. It has now become a trendy Euro inspired bar, but with that homely West End vibe! We were able to get an early table at the bar on Saturday night, which we were so happy about because one of the lovely owners, Adrienne was working behind the bar and she was just incredible! We could feel her love and knowledge for food and wine which was so great! They stock a large range of wines by the bottle and good range of wines by the glass- all of which are small batch producers and have minimal intervention. You will find new drops of wine you have never tasted and be suprised by the recommendations. Now lets talk about the food. YUM and YES to EVERYTHING! My husband has a few intolerances, so she was able to guide us with some great recommendations for him. We started with some delicious pintxos to start, called Gilda: They were little taste bombs of anchovies, olives, lemon, marinated guindilla peppers and capsicum. Praise the lord! That was yumsies! Followed by these incredible bite sized Tuna Bruschetta with piperade Wow! Ill have 10 of those thanks! Next came out the Pizza fritta which was a bread lovers heaven. Highly recommend ordering this so you can also mop up the delicious oils in your dishes later. The Onion fritti with creme fraiche and mint jelly was not only beautiful to look at but was so scrumptious. I loved how they turned a humble onion into something so gorgeous! To finish we had the Francine Tartare with Bois Boudran sauce- A clever take on the traditional tartare, but this time using beetroot! Absolutely brilliant with some of the best chippies you will have! A must order is the Swimmer Crab with a creamed corn, tarragon and chilli butter. I did a little food dance when I took my first bite- woow! I think this will be a crowd favourite! By this stage our stomachs were bursting out of our pants, and buttons popping out but we also ate one of most incredible dishes- Celeriac Schnitzel with diane sauce. This was very clever because it tasted like chicken to me! So yummy. Bar Francine is plant and seafood based and really focuses on good produce, and makes us look at food in a different way as they are quite unique with their menu and approach to food. I highly recommend this place, and recommend to book in advance as I see this as being another Brisbane institution Vegetarian options: They are able to suggest great Dairy free options and have a great plant based menu.

Enjoyable little spot in West End for a fine dining but casual experience. Great use of the space, wait staff were super attentative and the food was delicious. I wouldnt return in a hurry but I can see it being a favourite spot of the locals.

Beautifully little spot! It s new and busy as to be expected so book ahead! Staff were super friendly and helpful. We were served quickly and the food came out fast too! Options on the menu can be made available for vegans too. Left feeling full and satisfied the food was just perfect classy but still had an aussie touch.

This place is exactly what Brisbane needs. Don t know what the bad reviews are on about here, the staff couldn t be lovelier - and if the food/drinks weren t so spectacular, they d be the best part! Our waitress was so happy to get us the exact drinks we were craving, my chilled red was to DIE for (generous pour too). Also the cocktails are so innovative. We got the Francine Fruit Cup - so so incredible and the frosty fruit icypole was a nostalgic touch. The food absolutely yes. I was so sad we couldn t get everything on the menu. The highlights were the tuna bruschetta, the tartare and the mint pecorino pasta. Oh also the iceberg lettuce salad was divine. IM BRINGING EVERYONE I KNOW HERE FROM NOW ON.

A nice little wine bar with great atmosphere. Brisbane needs more of these! Good service and delicious food, with generous portion sizes. The menu is vegan/vegetarian with some seafood options and every dish was tasty. I didn t have any drinks so can t comment on the choices.

Bar Francine is by far my new favourite hot spot in West End. The food is amazing - the type where you wish getting full didnt exist. The staff are super lovely and the type of people you would hang out with on the weekend. To top it off the vibe is excellent! Low key house music while you eat delicious food and wine. I highly recommend this place for couples or large groups (Ive done both!). Do not go past the Mussels Toast on the menu!

Extensive wine offerings, friendly warm staff, tasty food. The venue is small and cosy, and when we visited was a bustling full house. The tables are set quite closely together, which did mean a few bumps here and there from other patrons and staff as they moved about.

Had a fantastic experience here. We were a group of 6 but due to some miscommunication (my own fault) some of the group turned up thinking it was just a bar and therefore only 2 out of the 6 ended up ordering food... which was delicious. They could have easily caused a scene and charged us cancellation fees etc but instead they were so accommodating and understanding. Have already booked to go back and wont make the same mistake twice!

Quite a surprise !!! Daily menu and best interpretations of classic and even vintage meals. The service was authentic and the wine guy was so good and easy to talk to. Great suggestions and wine matching. Our seat even had a view of Paris (it was the name of the next street!!!) Congrats on the concept / food / service and style!

It is a humble look and has no sign of this place at the front. Very curious. What are people doing there? This venue is like cut a bar in France and pasted it in West End. Attentive and knowledgeable service for both drink and food. You need to read a book of the wine list. However, food menu is simple but it is a gorgeous simple one, which I loved. Moreover, the staff s warm and friendly demeanor added an extra layer of comfort to our evening. They graciously offered their assistance and even inquired whether it was our first time dining at their establishment. Their hospitality made us feel right at home.

Just an awesome restaurant/bar! Firstly, it has a very good wine list, both by the glass and the bottle. Secondly, the food is really quite delicious. Favourites were the fried sour dough, the brussel sprouts and the dumpling dessert. Its also really quite a cool space for a meal with friends.

We are so lucky to have Bar Francine in West End. A perfect neighbourhood wine bar. Food and vibes are flawless. The nicest staff and yummiest wines. A special place!!

We really enjoyed the Fitzroy-esque atmosphere at Bar Francine and they make an exceptional Martini, the food however left a lot to be desired. Mushroom parfait was entirely overwhelming and the mussel vol-au-vent was possibly the worst thing Ive ever eaten. My husband equated it to 1940s British bomb shelter cuisine. We do not recommend this dish.

So my partner has wanted to come here for months and tonight we finally did. Firstly, the atmosphere hits as soon as you step through the door reminiscent of Fitzroy in Melbourne. Chill but cool music invites combined with a lovely aesthetic. The service was exceptional from the wait staff friendly and attentive. The drinks were lovely, my partners martini was one of the best in the area and my Lychee slip was delightful. Now the bad. The food was more disappointing than a comic book movie. The mushroom parfait was so rich it could own a mining company and will leave the same lasting scars on your pallet. The vol-au-vent was a bowl of WWII rations served in puff pastry which after a single bite my partner and I both returned it to the serving plate and looking for a prank camera. When none was shown and realised a chicko roll from a BP outside wagga would be better, we sent it back. As mentioned the staff are lovely and she offered to take it off the bill for which we are grateful. Feedback suggestion: Remove all food from the menu and replace with popcorn and bread with olive oil. In summary: Just drinks - 8/10 Drinks with food - 2/10 Just Food - 000 emergency.

Ignore the wannabe comedians below and do yourself a favour by going to Bar Francine for unarguably the best wine bar food that Brisbane has ever had to offer. Incredible atmosphere and the service is the perfect blend of knowledgeable and casual.

Suggested as a meet up venue from a local friend, who d only previously popped in for a drink. What a wonderful night! The just feed us menu is superb value and the quality is brilliant. 3.75 - edgy ambiance, the menu was very intriguing with interesting combinations although on expensive side. It does get pretty loud if you sit inside. Tried the; Pizza fritta - exhibited a slightly dense and doughy texture (quite heavy) Mackerel beignet & curry butter - butter boasted a light and airy composition that was truly delightful. Mackerel was not as heavy as it seemed, tangy inside & cooked well Sugaloaf cabbage schnitzel- pleasantly surprised with its robust and flavorful profile. Would recommend Rigatoni - interesting flavours but unfortunately didnt quite reach the level of exceptional Smoked eel with celeriac carpaccio - it presented a distinctive flavor profile that managed to avoid any overpowering fishiness, resulting in a unique and palatable experience

While the menu was versatile, and food was presented well, the evening was ruined by the absolute rudeness with which we were treated at the end. Despite spending over $300 on dinner and drinks, the alleged manager on Friday night approached our table and abruptly informed us that we have 10 minutes to leave because of the next reservation for the same table (no warning, no offer to move to the bar, no apology!!). All four of us at the table have substantial hospitality experience to know better that the same message could have been delivered differently (and we shared the feedback which left that manager rather unfazed). Yes - hospitality suffers from skills and labor shortages but c mon, that is NOT the example you want to set in this place. Utterly disappointed (but a great case study for my hospitality lecture years to come).

This is a cosy bar with great atmosphere and room for street watching. The menu highlights seasonable vegetables and is designed for sharing. The beetroot steak is a must have.
