Wonderful authentic fresh Thai food. The madam beef was in point. The beef was being stripped into pieces whilst I was teasing it with my fork. Definitely recommend
First time here. Their tofu satay rice was delicious! Best tofu I’ve ever had. Staff were lovely and service was super quick 😊 Will definitely be back to eat my way through the menu.
The best Thai restaurant in Brisbane’s inner South! Everything is so fresh and delicious and the team is friendly and always welcoming. My favourites include the crispy salt n pepper tofu and the duck tam.
They have indoor AIR CONDITIONED dining. The woman who managed the place was amazing and very friendly - would cater to any request. The food was more legitimate Thai than most franchises in Brisbane. I understand they toned down the spice for the public, but the flavours were there. Would recommend if you’re craving Thai food.
Beef and Crispy pork noodles are great! This is real Thai hidden gem restaurant in Brisbane, I will be back again for sure!!
Stubbled upon here on accident. Great atmosphere, and the owner is very friendly. Food is great, it’s very hard to find a Thai place that does great tasting Thai noodle soups
Food is great - fresh and delicious but quite small portions for the price. E.g. Fish barra and rice cost $28.20! Same price for pork belly and massaman curry. And it’s really a 1 person size per dish, curry was a tad bigger. Also the dish is $3.20 more for dine in than for takeaway for each dish! If I had known this before I sat down at the restaurant, I would have got takeaway instead as it cost more than $12 in total for our table of 4 to dine in. It should be stated clearly that there is a surcharge for dining in. While service was friendly, they did not notice our water jug was empty, and when we asked for more water, they forgot our request. Also I don’t agree with the sign on the table that said you can get a free drink if you rate the restaurant 5 stars on Google. A good restaurant would be asking for truthful reviews, not wanting to bump ratings up by enticing people to rate it 5 stars.
Always fresh and delicious. First time trying E-Saan Steak and it was soo juicy and best combo with Nam-Jim-Jeaw (their Thai styled sauce) ❤️❤️
Nice place, really good food, no expensive and kind staff! Just be aware they don t have Aircon mate Food
Food was pretty good however service could use some work and same with the ordering system as my order didnt go through and when I ordered again it put it through twice
Definitely not impressed. Starters were dry, the mains were very average, not worth the money paid.
We lived in Melbourne with world class BYOs and have now found one in West End - extremely authentic Thai food with great Australian ingredients. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and professional. Notebook based ordering allows you to control the timing of your meal. The restaurant is up the hill from the Boundary St and Vukture street cirner with excellent park8ng behind. Highly recommended for lunch and or dinner. BYO but also wine by the glass at very modest cost. A steak dish was brilliantly prepared. Highly recommended- check it out you will not be disappointed.
Food was delicious, served quickly. Friendly staff. You can BYO. Vegetarian options: Tofu, curry, all dishes available without fish or meat. Food : 5/5 |
Gala Thai is hands down the best Thai restaurant in Brisbane if you want an authentic meal. A simple joint serving consistently great food (Ive never been disappointed and have come over a dozen times). Family owned and operated, an absolute gem
Amazing Thai flavor, I have tried the new noodle dishes the Duck one was so good. Love it and will recommend to anyone.
I discovered the hidden gem, food was so good, service was very friendly. Will definitely be back
AMAZING vegan Thai food which can be difficult to find in Brisbane. I have ordered from Gala Thai many times on Uber Eats and dined in person with my partner who is omni. Weve both loved the food. Highly recommended.
Great food. Best Thai food I ever had outside of Thailand. Vegetarian options: Gluten Free options Food : 5/5 |
We ordered multiple dish san choy bow was lacking flavour, Tom yum Gong & the soup was flavourless lukewarm & we were served raw prawns & the pad Thai was mediocre to say the least. Last but not least was nam tok beef salad, didn t come with nam jim & was drenched in bottled salad dressing. Overall it was a a disappointing experience.
Forgot to take photos, but the place is nice and great value for the price. We had banquet set B, minimum of 4 people and had leftovers for takeaway because there was actually generous servings of food. Love the side dishes, crispy pork, and beef curry. There are indoor and outdoor seating, toilet, and street parking. Staff is very friendly and serves you water as soon as you are seated. It s very easy to order through their tablet. Parking: Depending on time you get there, you might get lucky with street parking.
Nice Thai food. Many vegetariab options. The vegetarian Pad Thai was really good, lots of veggies.
Great little Thai restaurant.
The best thai food I had in a realy long time. We had duck, crispy tofu with sate and red curry with tofu. All was delicious. The service was extremly kind. Overall a great expirience. The prices are decent.
Friday nights at Gala Thai can be described as a melting pot of cultures. This popular local hub serves up not your traditional flavours but a fusion of local Aussie meets Thai, providing a unique experience hidden within West End. The vibes were excellent, and the service was wonderful. If youre curious about Thai food with a twist, Gala Thai will surely surprise. The food and service was nice. Prices were high and portions were quite small. No incentive to return.
Lovely Thai food served by friendly staff, not far from West End.
Food excellent and service top-notch!! Jd Parking: They have plenty parking at the back of the shop plus on street parking seems easy too! Jd Food : 5/5 |
Pad See Ew was super tasty. Great service, friendly staff.
Jip and the team at Gala Thai catered for my daughters 18th birthday party. Huge compliments to Gala Thai for the beautiful food which was raved about by the guests. Serves were very generous and authentic.. Thanks, Jip and team!
A friendly vibe where the owner knows your name & service is fast & friendly. Use the at table app ordering or direct with staff. Food is consistently good. Indoor or outdoor (covered footpath) dining & of course, takeaway.
Gala Thai has been my absolute favourite place to eat from the day they opened. The food is incredibly fresh, each dish has a distinctive flavour, the staff are lovely and they usually have my fav beer on special. Highly recommended Vegetarian options: The menu has a veggie lovers section with plenty of choice
Friendly Staff and good service I ordered beef mince stir fried with basil,It was really good taste like Thai Authentic .it make me have a good weekend
Foods are amazing! The owner is so welcoming and nice
Nice
nice food and drink
Nice food! Positive!
The service is excellent but the dresser needs better seasoning
One star to the service one star to the ambience. Food was disappointing. Ordered a crispy pork with Kai lan that was ok averageish, another one pad cha barra# the fried fish was obviously precooked and reheat. It was tough and dry complete disaster. Obviously another over rated restaurant, Higher than average priced but not justified. Around $60 for two ppl just a regular lunch with two dishes.. No more.
Best pad see ew I ve ever had and I ve and my fair share!!! Delicious food! Will be back!
Fantastic service, very quick to get ypur meal to you. Great dish, Pad Thai was my choice and absolutely delicious Worth the visit Food : 5/5
Visited twice in 3 days it was that good. Portion size is great, fast service Vegetarian options: Vegan options are brilliant Food : 5/5 |
I was thoroughly impressed by the authentic flavors, attentive service, and cozy ambiance.
The food is amazing! The laksa soup is very good and the tofu soaked in all the flavor. The pad ka praw with crispy pork belly is well seasoned and well matched with coconut rice. We also ordered vegan som tum and sticky rice. It would be good if theres cherry tomato in it to balance the flavor and the sticky rice is a bit hard and dry to our taste. The service is very good and well definitely return to try other dishes!
We had a pleasant evening dining alfresco on a warm Brisbane summer night. This place is clearly popular with the locals, with most outside tables being occupied and in addition, a steady stream of take-away patrons queuing up outside. Four of us dined and we ordered a selection of starters and main courses, including dumplings, spring rolls, chicken karaage, massaman beef curry and two serves of coconut rice. And to wash it all down a few bottles of refreshing Tiger Lager and a glass of red wine for my wife. No complaints about the food; it was all fresh and tasty and served in decent portions. The dumplings and spring rolls were the perfect way to start the evening. I liked the contrast between the soft dumplings and crispy spring rolls. The chicken karaage was succulent and tender, wrapped in a nice crunchy batter. The massaman beef curry was melt-in-your-mouth tender and soaked in a fragrant and aromatic yellow curry and sprinkled with peanuts and shallots. Ordering is done via individual tablets on the tables, and that worked fairly smoothly once we got the hang of it, although given the amount of sit-in diners and takeaway orders, service was a tad slow and erratic, with some meals coming before others. I guess this is one of the downsides to electronic ordering, as there didn t seem to be an ability to accumulate orders before hitting the button, so the result was that one order was placed and the dish was brought to the table, another order, another dish brought to the table, and so on. Each diner has their own tablet, which added to the confusion. But in the end, to be fair to these guys, everybody got their meals in good time and no-one went hungry. Our total bill for four came to what I thought was a hefty $140 for five drinks (the Tiger Lager was supposedly on special at $5 ea, so that should have reduced the bill), two starters and four mains. The toilets are in the next door building and you need to grab the key from the front desk. They were clean and well provisioned, although the key only opened the female cubicle, which didn t really matter as it s a single cubicle anyway. The ambience was super casual, laid back and relaxed and full marks to the hardworking owner and her staff for creating a pleasant dining atmosphere and serving high quality food in generous portions.
Good food, the staffs are friendly, taste good. Worth the price, i m keen to go back again!
Great service and very tasty food. Very easy ordering system and good prices. Loved it!
We had papaya salad (Som Tam), Thai style juicy steak with tamarind sauce, and some sticky rice. All were delicious. The Thai milk tea was the best Ive had in years. Great service too!
Great atmosphere and service!
Yummy yummy food Boss is very nice Good service Food : 5/5
Food was a bit disappointing. I thought that the pad thai was a bit too sour, way too much tamarind. The red curry was a bit bland, and feels like the rice was microwaved as some portion of the rice were cold. Price is a bit on the higher side and portion is small-ish but thats just West End I guess. We arrived at about 7.45pm for dinner, not sure if going earlier would have made a better experience. I remember coming here when they first opened and had a positive experience. Hopefully this was just a once off.
Best Thai food and the best service
One of my favorite Thai restaurants in Brisbane!!! I had Barra Ginger Soy broth, Duck Tam and Pad Ka Pao with crispy pork belly for dinner yesterday. Its really tasty and finger-licking good! The steamed fish came well. The skins of the pork and the duck were very crispy and still soft and juicy inside. Its very satisfying.
Vegetarian options: Love this place, good food, great service, have lots of vegan options. Food
Flavour well-balanced. Really enjoyed the meal here.
nice food good people wonderfully
Spicy Fried Rice Spicy flavor perfect for Koreans to eat!! The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service is friendly :)
- great food! We had the duck tam. duck was super crispy with fresh salad. - padthai was great and great umami - price is decent - amazing service, friendly and attentive staff - best crack in this country was their Thai milk tea
Good food and also good thai tea!
Great food with plenty of vegan/vegetarian options
Extremely great service and food! Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options to choose from
I love E-saan steak, its really awesome.
Im a regular here cause the food is phenomenal and service also and the owner she is absolutely lovely!
One of the best restaurants in West End, food and service are always great!
Amazing Satay chicken I highly recommend this place.
Great papaya salad and grilled chicken, thank you.
Wonderful staff, and really good food. Highly recommend!
Never had a less than 5-star experience in the bazillion times I have been to Gala Thai. The service is some of the greatest around, and the food is so fresh and yum and made with love. I would die for this restaurant!!!!!
Absolutely love this place ! beautiful food, fantastic service, family run and super friendly! highly recommend the Barra ginger and soy...the fried rice chicken satay Vegetarian options: Delicious vegetarian options
The staff are amazing and the food is delicious!
Great little joint for amazing Thai! The food tastes amazing and the service and top notch! Would highly recommend this space!
Love the food here Best thail food in town
Best Thai in Brisbane
I don t understand how this place has an average of 4.6 stars. Whilst service was good, the food was definitely below average. We ordered Pad Thai and Beef Massaman curry. Both dishes were very bland. For the Pad Thai, they used round noodles instead of the proper flat and wide rice noodles. The still water was highly chlorinated and tasted like chemicals.
Best Thai food I ever had out of Thailand
Amazing little local restaurant. Jip and Tonn the owners are doing their best job to cook the best Thai food they possibly can. Definitely recommend to anyone
Love this place. very taste food. Nice service super friendly staff.
Food was awesome, waiters were polite and friendly, felt like a community restaurant. I got the beef massaman curry and it was hectic as. Fully recommend
This is a great neighborhood restaurant with wonderful service and beautiful food. The massaman beef and Tom yum goong are personal favorites but you can t go wrong.
Best Thai food ever. We love everything but my absolute favourite is Massaman Beef Curry. Jip is awesome. So friendly and accommodating. I would give it 10-stars if I could.
Delicious every single time!!! Yummmmmm
Delicious and great value
We just love this little place Awesome food, service with a smile The food is fast and fantastic Its our regular once a week Thai for all the right reasons. Oh and did we mention byo
Wonderful and tasty food, lots of veg options. Very welcoming and friendly, would definitely recommend!
Very Nice and tidy place also friendly staff. Food was fantastic. I love their food!!! Highly recommended to have Thai food here.
Truly a 10/10 place!! Fantastic authentic flavours, amazing service and great atmosphere. Gala is one of those rare gems that you find out of the blue and can never forget after just one visit. It seemed to be a busy night when I was there, not just with dine-in but takeaway orders as well but despite all of this, I was so pleased to get really quick service. Everything was just done to perfection. Love the open kitchen concept as well. Feels like everyone s apart of a loving family. I really wish it was closer to my house, but it s probably better keeping the distance since I would literally get takeaway EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Can t wait for my next visit. I will keep recommending it to everyone I know.
Not the worst Thai in Brisbane but not the best. Flavours are very muted throughout a variety of dishes. Would ve enjoy a more authentic taste.
Gala Thai is consistently excellent ! Been coming here for over 3 years now and I ve never had a bad dish. Special shout out to the Satay sauce it s so delicious, also the spring rolls are home made and probably the best in Brisbane.
Delish! Best Thai in Brisbane. Hands down. Especially if youre a vego - they have really nailed it for the vegetarians!
Highly recommend!!! Had a date night dinning at Gala Thai, West End tonight. As always, their food, drink lists and services never disappoint us! Easiest way to order food with a tablet which you can see picture of what you will have. Jib, Ton and their team are incredible. They are very friendly and accomodating. I would recommend to have Salt and Pepper Tofu served with house-made peanut sauce which was the best combination. Tofu was super crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I had 8 pieces by myself and left 2 for my husband. 10/10!!! We always love their curry, especially Red Curry with Chicken, so tasty. Great job Gala Team, keep up your great work. see you again soon. Vegetarian options: good options for vegetarian and vegan.
Very good food and nice atmosphere. All the staff are extremely welcoming and good fun. I have been two nights in a row now. 7 of us Irish lads enjoyed it, will try go again
My favourite Thai restaurant in Brisbane. Dip s welcoming and the presentation of food is beyond expectations Delicious and authentic home made Thai cuisine. She can really creates wonderful vibe Highly recommended experience
Gala is the best Thai restaurant I ve ever been. The food is amazing and the service is superb. This restaurant has become one of our favourites. I haven t found any other place that serves such a delicious pad see ew. recommended. Vegetarian options: Best vegan pad see ew
Great food and friendly service
What fantastic food and service. It was extremely busy this evening with customers for dinner, takeaway and Uber eats. Nevertheless, orders were quickly on the table, although not all at the same time, but that did not spoil the fun. The food was truly a feast of presentation and taste. We have been to Thailand and several other Asian countries, but we have hardly eaten here. The coconut rice is an absolute must! If youre around here, go there!!
The food was delicious. We had salt and pepper tofu, vegan laksa and vegan fried rice + some drinks. The salt and pepper tofu was very crispy and to the point. The fried rice could have benefitted from some more salt, but the veggies were fried perfectly, still fresh and crispy. However, the real star if the evening was the vegan laksa. Smooth, rich and perfectly balanced. I would go back for it again and again. Vegetarian options: Vegan Dietary restrictions: Vegan
One of the best Thai restaurants in Brisbane. Every dish Ive tried is delicious but my favourite has to be the barramundi, ginger and soy broth, the fish is always cooked to perfection and the broth is so tasty. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, we always have a wonderful experience there.
Take away and eat in both consistently excellent. Friendly fast service. Can see why its always so popular
We have been getting Gala Thai for a few years now and have never been disappointed.
Excellent food. Nice Fried rice
Food was very ordinary, had pad Thai, coconut rice and red curry. The curry was okay but the rest wasnt good. Very basic resturant and no personality with the staff. Quick meal but nothing more. Food : 3/5
First visit on an impromptu lunch with and on a good friend s recommendation. Vegetarian fried rice for me and vegetarian pad ki mow for them. Best. Fried. Rice. Ever. Flavoursome, full of veggies and they placed peanuts on the side as per my request. I was advised that the pad ki mow was good as well. Thank you Yip, for the warm and welcome hospitality and to the kitchen. Would absolutely visit again and definitely recommend. See you next time!
One of my favorite thai food in Brisbane, especially papaya salad and E-san steak. Really recommend for anyone interested in Thai food
Quality and price is well matched. Always have nice tasty meal here both dine in and take away. Staff are friendly and service is very good. Food : 4/5
One of the best Thai places inner city.
Amazing family restaurant, lovely owners and fantastic food If you are looking for delicious Thai food, youve got to try GALA Food
The karaage chicken is my absolute favorite! In no place it tastes as good as here. I come here regularly. Definitely recommend:)
Best Thai in West End Dietary restrictions: Gluten free roommates love this place Food : 5/5 |
Love the steak and Tom yum. Yummy food and nice service.
Very delicious curry Will come back when craving for Thai curry and stir fry
Nice and cosy Thai restaurant with a great staff and yumm food. Would recommend it and will certainly visit repeatedly.
Great food and service. We loved all the dishes ordered.
This place has genuinely yummy food at reasonable prices. So glad I found this absolute gem in west end. Great vego options too!
Best Thai Ive had in Brisbane. Highly recommend
Best Thai food in Brisbane. Update: still great!
Best Pad thai ever!!
Aroi mak. Feel like Im in Thailand Food
My favorite place.Highly recommend pad see ew, that s a real thai flavor.
you can t fault this place
Good food with good vibes. Really good service with staff always looking after you. Refreshing Thai food with great ambiance. The best crispy pork belly weve had! The beef salad was amazing. Highly recommend it and will definitely come back again!
Very nice green curry and authentic Thai style dishes. Nice friendly staff. Well worth a visit. Vegetarian options: rice and tofu
It used to be one of our safest options in the neighborhood. We tasted many dishes since before the pandemic, and we were always happy. Recently, though, the quality has significantly decreased. In some cases dishes do not seem even fresh. A pity.
The food really perfectly ,It has seem the best choice of Thai food in the Boundary st. (Tastes is authentic and the ways they decorated is really fantastic.) If you don t know where you have to go today, this restaurant is the best choice to visit but you might need to have a reservation before Bec they always busy all the times.) Enjoy!!!
I was contemplating between pizza and Thai food. Next time I ll chose pizza.
My favorite place to eat by far . Quality, freshness and flavor is 10 out of 10. The owner is welcoming and beautiful and really best food in Brisbane
Our favourite Thai spot. Great service and great food
This is my favourite Thai. The food and team are fantastic!
Green curry and duck curry is good. San Choy Baw is very nice. Food
Friendly service and delicious food. We had the s&p tofu, edamame and pad Thai.
Great menu with Thai and Japanese favourites. Quite well priced as well
Very authentic Thai food. The owner is very nice and made sure we were welcomed. Very good portion size as well.
Really good Thai food, highly recommend
Always happy to go there and enjoy a good food with a warm service. Thanks
Amazing Thai! You have to get the duck. The sauce it has been marinating in is out of this world. The staff are super friendly too. Will definitely be back! Some of the photos of the food are after we tucked into it - the portion sizes are great here. Parking: There s a number if street parking spots up and down Boundary street.
Crispy pork with gai lan is a bit dry. But service is prompt and efficient.
Nice thai food, great deals too.
Great 6 vegan options. And the slice of lemon I drizzled on made it.
One of the best Thai restaurants in Brisbane. Scrumptious food, good selection of vegan options and very efficient and super friendly staff.
Unfortunately this business does not cope with online orders. We waited at least 90 minutes for our order on. Friday night. As you can imagine the food was not great. We ordered via Uber and it looks like the driver gave up after waiting too long. I can not blame him they are trying to make money and waiting for an order is burning money. I would suggest that this business drop on line as they have no priority for on line customers. Unfortunately I can not recommend this restaurant for on line orders I have eaten in the restaurant and that was ok but this has been a very bad experience and on that basis it is with regret that I have given them a low rating. My conclusions is as follows eat in the restaurant and never order on line. You will be disappointed
Great food with good vegetarian selections and healthy options. Staff were polite and attentive but didnt hover.
First time buying our dinner from here. Takeaway. It was ready on time; the young woman who served me was friendly, smiling and cheerful; the food was great value from both flavour and quantity. Many places water down the sauces and save on meat and verges. Not at Gala Thai. Loved it and will definitely be back, even though they are a little further afield from home.
Food average. Small portion. Hardly any meat. Tried to bulk it up with capsicum and onions. Pricey
I ordered check pad Thai. I asked them to change chicken to prawn. But they only can serve with chicken which is made me disappointed. It was good point that they didn t use a lot of oils, but it was too much soup and wet noodles for me.
Staff hardly communicate but the food is ok.
Pad Thai was terrible. They used thin, round noodles instead of the proper flat pad thai noodles. Result was soggy, gluggy noodles that stuck together. Spring rolls were crispy on the outside but doughy on the inside. Really disappointed
Good range of interesting Thai food.
Went in March 2022 and was expecting the usual suburban Thai experience. Couldnt be more wrong, EVERY dish was delicious WAY beyond expectations. Loved the order-as-you touchpad system which made ordering with a large family a breeze. Crispy pork belly was out of this world and best Massaman Ive ever tasted, and Ive tasted plenty. Staff were very helpful seating our crowd even though it was busy, and I can see why. Well done!
Ordered the Calamari side and beef massaman curry, plus coconut rice. Amazing flavours and just melt in your mouth beef. A truly great experience for our take away meal. All foods were fresh and fragrant. Well absolutely be back soon.
First time there and I am sure well be back again. Great food and great service. Recommending the place for the vegan food lovers as well.
1 Star is too many ... Ordered Fried Rice was 14 to 15 dollars , Worst fried rice i have had in 50 years, tasted as if it was cooked beforehand and then warmed up in a dirty pan - will not go back nor recommend to anyone. i did have 2 spoons of it and it went to the bin with most haste. I should of known better the place looks untidy and somewhat dirty.
Thumbs up to Yip the owner. This place have amazing authentic Thai food. We recommend the duck tam as we get takeaway every fortnight and enjoy a wine/beer while waiting. The staff are attentive and know us by name. The service and food is phenomenal. If you are in West End I do recommend this place .
Delicious laksa
Curry laksa was exceptional! Honestly everything was delicious
Good place this. Enjoyed my vegan dumplings and Green Curry.
Pad See-Ew Chicken was delicious. They have heaters outside for these colder months. Great service. Reasonably priced.
Very delicious. The best Thai food. Certainly I will be back
Authentic Thai food at reasonable prices. Owner is friendly and helpful.
Vegetarian options: Lots of choice and all very good
Pad Thai is literally flavourless. 1/5. The lettuce bun thing is really nice. 5/5.
Very good food. Tasty and generous portions backed by good service
Very nicely done Duck Tam (salad). Duck is crispy but yet not too dry. Order is quick as well.
Delicious Thai food! Will definitely come again when Im back. Food were so tasty. Staff is so friendly and helpful too.
Pad thai was average but the tofu salad and pad see ew vegetarian were good!
Really great food, fast and friendly service and very reasonable prices!
Disappointed as the Gai Yaang was delivered without the sauce and the rice I ordered didnt arrive either. Rest was good but that pretty well spoiled the meal.
Wow, amazing flavours at this little West End Thai restaurant. Super prompt and friendly service too. The duck was amazing. Highly recommended! Vegetarian options: We didnt try any, but the vegetarian options looked good. Parking: The car park at the back was surprisingly quiet on a Friday night
Best fish curry in Brisbane!!
We tried Gala Thai for the first time. The beef salad was absolutely delicious. The salad dressing is full of flavour and the sirloin steak was perfectly prepared. Additionally, the tofu red curry was so flavoursome; the vegetables and tofu were cooked to a delightful crunch and the curry itself was one of the best Ive ever had. ***** A+++++
Excellent food and service. Value for money.
WOWWWW!!! Absolutely amazed with the quality and value of what I had delivered. I m so glad I had the chance to try this with a free delivery offer on the Doordash app. Normally I don t like paying too much to have food delivered but wont mind in the future with Gala Thai. The Tom Yum soup did leak a bit but was still quite impressed by what was received especially by the biggest prawns I ve ever seen and the fresh bay leaves and chillis in the soup. Asian slaw salad was super fresh and had the perfect amount of all its ingredients which included mint leaves and peanuts. The coconut rice was also great as it wasn t overly sweet and wet like what yould recieve from many other cheap Thai places on these delivery apps. Will definitely be having Gala Thai again in the future.
Long wait
Quaint Thai Restaurant serving up delicious dishes! Love the location! Nice and easy to find and not too busy surrounds. Staff are warm and friendly and so speedy with any requests. Would highly recommend.
Their green and red curries are excellent and you do get a lot of food for what you pay. The staff serving us was friendly, always smiling and made us feel really welcome. And it was easy to find parking on the streets nearby. Highly recommended!
Main dish Very spicy barramundi was not spicy, there was not much fish just soft not crispy batter, the vegetables were over cooked. Coconut rice was not good either, and came to the table cold. Bad experience. Siam Southbank Thai Restaurant is far better!
Fabulous
Got a big takeaway order and everything was fantastic
Went here Friday night. Great food, great service and reasonably priced
The chicken padthai was amazing, the serving was just right but the flavours were on point. It was rich and intense. The service was great considering it was super busy.
Great service and nice cosy atmosphere. We ordered the duck with salad and the barramundi. The fish tasted great but the duck was quite dry. Disappointed because the food is also on the slightly expensive side.
Ordered MenuLog delivery and our meal was never delivered, despite the driver saying it was. No attempt to buzz our unit, no call to our phone, food nowhere to be seen. Contacted MenuLog and they refused to refund or replace saying the driver had rung but the number was incorrect. I checked my profile and my number is correct. I contacted the restaurant direct and was told I could order and pay for the meal again but no other solution was offered. I asked for contact of the driver or if they could ring the driver and they said no. $55 down the drain. Never again
Great food been a few time & will be going again
Not happy with the service at all, let us wait for a hour for the food without any apology, not recommend at all...
Went to the Gala Thai for Fathers Day 2021. We all agreed that it was one of the best Thai meals that we even eaten. We had an assortment of dishs and all the food was fresh and true to Thai cuisine. The service was excellent with next to no waiting time. You would be hard pressed to find a better Thai restaurant in Brisbane at any price point. Highly recommended.
I liked their ordering system through a tablet placed on your table, you can also use the same system to call a waitress. Food is delicious and the staff is friendly. I initially thought there are no car parking lots available, but there are some spots behind the shop.
Very disappointed. Chose the restaurant on the basis of others reviews. They forgot we were there and when, after 20 minutes of waiting at the table for menus I requested them I was met with a quizzical look. No apology, just menus. Waited quite a while and our three dishes were luke warm at best when they arrived. Food was mostly tasty but not magnificent. Massaman a bit bland and disappointing. Shall not be returning.
Staff are friendly and quick to service. Ask if you have been there or not previously, if not they quickly explain how to use the ordering tablets. Food comes out quickly and together in their appropriate orders(drinks, entree, mains, etc). I just wish I could say I m surprised about the quietness. It s not that quiet as they do have people entering and exiting. Although it could be busier if at a better location such as down about midway the road closer to the bars and other restaurants as they are filled with potential customers unaware of this restaurant. Highly recommended.
Good customer service and food. However, it took them 37 mins to serve us.
The salty marinated crab is not edible btw. This isnt obvious on the menu, its just the crab flavour. Been there twice now. The rest of their dishes are ok but a bit overpriced I feel.
Awesome restaurant, best Thai food in Brisbane
Love the food served here.
Amazing authentic food with great taste loved it here. Thank you for your great work.
Im a returning customer of Gala Thai. They never disappoint with the Pad See Ew
Food is decent, price hovers at $20 per main, portions are okay on noodle dishes. They removed free rice from dishes that basically need it. Service was terrible. And enough to make me angry. Tuesday night, 7pm. Not too busy, their indoor tables were empty. Ordered 2 stir fried noodle dishes for takeaway (5 minute cooking time) It took over 40 minutes to be made. Yes, 40 minutes. We werent even warned itd take that long. At least then we couldve gone home and returned since we are locals. All we got was a very standard sorry for the wait. Didnt seem too bothered. I would understand if they were busy. But while we waited we saw AT LEAST 5 uber eats orders rushed out. Bag after bag of uber eats being ready. If I were to guess they prioritise their online reviews over in store customers. So heres an online review. Order uber eats, pay more. At least you wont waste your night sitting outside the door.
Easily on of the best Thai restaurants in Brisbane, 10/10.
