Excellent service

As soon as you arrive at Lokal, you understand why it is rated so high as breakfast and restaurant place: super informal and with a great smile on the face of the people working there, a stress-free place. Food excellent: I hade pancakes and a great fruit juice. Cappuccino is good (from an Italian, considered as a compliment) a great place to be Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options

I love you guys, bring and recommend friends often. Always great food and coffee. A couple of tips- please get some ironed tablecloths! They let you down. Look like second thought sheets off the bed. And often the white tables and the chairs inside are not clean. Fix this and excel.

Dropped by Lokal + Co for a lazy Sunday breakfast, staff were friendly and we were seated as we arrived, the food and drinks were brought out promptly. Only suggestion was that our eggs were not seasoned, if the food is not seasoned, there should be salt and pepper at the table for patrons to adjust the flavour as not everyone eats their eggs plain.

The coffee was perfect and the food was delicious. The croquettes (which were a late addition to our order) were a nice touch to our breakfast. We will definitely be back again

Great place for brunch

I cannot recommend this Cafe. The service was poor - I had to chase a staff member to the counter, in order to ensure that we received sugar with our coffee. The coffees arrived - no sugar - staff apologised & returned with 1 sachet of sugar when we had twice requested 2 sugars each. My partners long black was very bitter - even with 2 sugars. My flat white was the opposite - just tasted like hot milk. I sent my coffee back. The almond croissant we ordered to share had been heated without me being asked. It was quite chewy & not the fresh treat we were expecting. We chose the cafe because there were a lot of people drinking coffee in the alfresco area & it appeared to be a popular venue. I can only say that we were disappointed with our choice for a Saturday morning coffee treat.

My food arrived and no one brought me utensils/ salt and pepper, I had to go get them myself. Also very small for the price My juice was 9$ and it was only a couple sips, mostly just a glass of ice Wont be coming back here

We were very happy to find this quiet place just a block away from the noise and crowds on Boundary. The food and service were very good. The fresh juices were sublime. I will come back.

25 minutes after my daughter s breakfast was served, still no sign of mine. After I enquired, there was confusion from the staff and a half apology for the delay but still no urgency. We left after she finished, still no sign of my food. No discount, apology or recompense for the inconvenience. Not good enough.

We had breakfast here, I had the croquettes and my partner the chicken salad along with coffees. Both dishes were very good with the croquettes probably the winner of the two. The coffees were very good too. The to be improved parts were the slow service (it wasn t busy but it too many minutes before we even got a menu) and the coffee cups. Yes the latter might be a detail but the dishes were served in nice contemporary bowls but the coffees came in what looked like mass produced cheap cups. If they improve the service they will have a winning concept.

Really disappointed, was looking forward to trying this place and headed this way due to being Danish and wanting to try a nordic breakfast locally. I wouldn t call this Nordic and had more asian infusion on the menu. I would suggest to change the description on google to not disappoint. Not sure if it s a new chef because the star rating definitely didn t match the experience. My wife and I ordered the croquette and chilli scramble. Both lacked flavour and fell flat. The poached egg on the croquette was very underdone and when I cut into it it filled my bowl with uncooked egg white. They did replace my egg with a new one but the meal really needed to be replaced as everything was covered in raw egg white. My wife s chilli scramble just lacked a bit of flavour. The serving sizes were good but just disappointed in the flavour. That said the coffee was amazing, and the servers seemed very friendly, just didn t hit the mark with the food. A shame as it could have been something great. Plenty of better options in West End.

We arrived at 10:45 and didnt get any coffee for 45min and the cafe wasnt even at 1/2 capacity. Food arrived about 10min later. The food was pretty good but the service was not great at all. I wouldnt recommend if youre in a hurry!

The coffee was below average, and the avocado turned black and the rest of the ingredients were not fresh either. They served the bottom of the bread loaf, which was neither easy nor pleasant to eat. Overall, an expensive menu for a very lazy and below-average service.

Really enjoyable breakfast here with my Italian lover. I had an affogato, it was so smooth then the 3 cheese omelette which was so good with the truffle oil. The GF toast was very dry & overtoasted, needed a spray with water beforehand, but apart from that was perfect. My partners iced dirty chai was also great, cinnamon spicy chai flavours mixing well with coffee.

Enjoyed a great lunch and catch up with a friend. The chicken thai salad was delicious.

What a wonderful way to start our week! The food was beautiful, the service equally so. I truly wish the new owners well and hope that remain committed to providing the same quality of Scandinavia food and welcoming ambiance.

Dined here twice over a long weekend and both times the food and service were excellent. The meals were fresh, came out quickly and were all delicious, same goes for the smoothies and coffees. The staff were all friendly and efficient.

Pretty disappointing. 4 of us went here for lunch on a Saturday, it was maybe 2/3 full so we had a choice of tables. Waitress took our orders quickly, 2 glasses of wine came out after 10 minutes, another 10 minutes for the beer and iced tea. The waitress set down our cutlery and put the fork down holding the tines instead of the handle which was really off putting. Food took over 40 minutes to come out. We were watching other tables be served, and seeing big waits between everyone at the table getting their plates. There were plenty of servers but must have been only 1 chef, as the servers kept waiting around at the kitchen, while partial orders were sitting on the counter for up to 10 minutes. Food was tasty if a little stingy and overpriced. The chicken salad had 3 slivers of chicken in it. This place was not worth it for me.

This is the first time I ve tried the new menu - oh my goodness the chilli scrambled eggs is so delicious. Beautiful Sri Lankan coconut sambal, fresh cucumber and herb salad and the best roti I ve ever had. Greatest compliments to the chef. I will be back.

The coffee here is really good. Tried the Lokal s house-cured salmon gravlax which I highly recommend. Found the Leek and manchego croquettes a bit small but otherwise tasty.

The staff service was good, however we had to wait 25 min for our food. The waffles came cold and with the ice cream melted already, the Three cheese omelet, had no trace of any cheese. I wanted to like it, but didn t meet minimum expectations.

Great space, such a warm and cosy atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seatings with pleasant and lively staff. Variety of options on breakfast and lunch menus. We had coffee and it was delicious. Then the tender and juicy burgers, definitely one of the best. Food was delivered within very reasonable time and fresh and warm just the way we want. kids had muffins chips and juice. The portion sizes were amazing, definitely worth its value. What to expect other than good and great food and service. Loved it here will come back .

Great little gem in West End. The owners are super friendly and nice. The food was delicious and the portions are good. Have to specially mention, the coffee is perfect; long blacks aren t burnt or sour like in most other places. The atmosphere is well lit and cosy. Also, there is plenty of room for large groups. Highly recommended.

There s definitely nothing Nordic about this place. The coffee was really nice and the staff was lovely, other than that not the greatest experience. I m not sure if the owner has changed since I last visited a couple of years back but the food wasn t great - I ordered toast with poached eggs and avocado, got one slice of toast and near-uncooked poached eggs. Would get coffee from here again but can t recommend it for food unfortunately especially in an area like this where there s plenty of great options around.

Had the Salmon Gravlax with potato and pea pakoras - OMG they were amazing. Light, flavoursome with delicious house made chutney and labneh. Biggest issue was trying to decide what to order - menu is fantastic. Coffee was superb!

Great food. Great service. great coffee. Nice location. Try the Croquettes or the Sweet Dumplings. Plenty of seating indoors plus outdoor seating out the front. This cafe has now changed hands (July 2023). The menu is still the same with good coffee, great service and good atmosphere. If it s not too cool I would recommend sitting outdoors. I tried the Gingerbread Waffle on my most recent visit and it was excellent!

This place used to have amazing food but it appears to have changed hands and I ve had breakfast here twice since. Flavour combos in the dishes are bizarre and don t really work in my opinion. The service is also not great, and you will be charged for butter or a side of chutney.

For Brisbane, which has lower food standards, it is ok. But still a bit too expensive for not a big breakfast plate, and no sophistication in food at all, very flat. Almond croissant very sweet and heavy. Coffee ok. Wouldnt come again

EDIT: Changing my review from 5 stars to 2. I m unsure whether this place may have changed hands or if it s just degraded over time, but something has gone awry. I ve been chasing that initial three cheese truffle omelette ever since I first encountered it but it NEVER delivered again. Feels like they gradually reduced the amount of truffle used in the dish until most recently when they told me it no longer comes with truffle AT ALL! This is literally the only reason we kept coming back to this cafe and now we have no reason to return, much to my partner s relief. Everything else we ve tried on the menu has been incredibly meh. INITIAL REVIEW: The three cheese truffle omelette may very well have been the best omelette I ve had in my life. Delicious food, delicious coffee, warm service in a chic little setting. Will definitely be back.

The place looks lovely. Coffees were quite pale. Almond croissant was a bit dense and tough. The pull pork burger has 4 bite size pieces of pork. Cant see any pulled pork. One of the pieces was pure lard.

This place was my go to in west end but unfortunately they changed ownership and all the original lovely staff have gone and it looks like a its run by a family now. A couple of months ago my husband and I went and we waited 40 min for food. I ended up asking the staff member whats happening and she didnt print it to the kitchen. We already waited so long and had to be somewhere else so we asked for a refund. Last week I decided to give it a chance and try the food and it was disappointing. The food is prepared totally different and tastes differently. Unfortunately my husband and I wont be coming back here again.

2023 - The owners have changed. Menus have changed and unfortunately its not the same high quality and standard. Dec19 - theyve changed their menu. I had the days special braised beef with coconut papaya salad and it was amazing. Still 5 stars and has become my favourite go to place in Brisbane. 2018 One of the best cooked crispy pork belly Ive tasted. Kimchi omelette and lime salad worked well with the pork as a breakfast. Only in Brisbane for a week but will be back again. 5 stars

Booked a reservation for Monday at 12:30PM for two and we were the only patrons when we arrived. Unfortunate that it s not busier because we really enjoyed our meals and the service. We ordered for a friend who hadn t arrived yet, and they remade her coffee and made sure to keep her food warm. They went above and beyond to ensure a good experience. Also the portions were really great and we all really enjoyed our meals: the salmon with pakoras, chilli scramble and the cheesy omelette. Wish they had the waffles when we went, but maybe next time!

Found a hair in my undercooked poached eggs and paid $2 to add butter to toast :(( iced chocolate was yummy though.

I never post a review but for this, I absolutely had to. I had previously visited this cafe and had a good experience, but my second visit left much to be desired. The service was exceptionally poor, lacking any flexibility. What particularly frustrated me was the unexpected $27 charge for cleaning plates we had used for a birthday cake, which we had informed them about bringing in advance. When we contested the fee, they cited the need to charge for plate cleaning. We suggested they should have communicated this charge beforehand, but they remained adamant on charging us, saying we don t want to fight . Neither did we. Regrettably, I wont be returning to this cafe, as there are superior options with both delicious food and exceptional service available elsewhere.

Seriously an underrated brunch spot! The dish with grilled chorizo, leek and manchego croquettes was a delicious choice for breakfast or lunch. perfect balance between each of the flavours and portions. Tasty black garlic aioli! 9.5/10 Chilli eggs with Roti, cucumber salad, plum chutney and coconut sambal - 8/10 - not for the feint hearted. Very spicy (sambal) but hit the spot. Chutney and salad balanced the meal out nicely. Another original meal with harmonious ingredients. Props to the chef for creating exciting dishes for an affordable price. Much More so than other spots around brisbane at least. Coffee and juices also great. Thank you!

Vastly improved since I last visited maybe five years ago. Well priced and with good portion sizes. Emphatically recommend the mushrooms on toast. Excuse the photo - I made a mess of the lovely presentation in my haste to pile up all the disparate elements. Coffee is definitely nothing to sniff at either. However, just like the vast majority of West End, avoid on the weekend unless youre a crowd enthusiast.

This quaint cafe is located in the popular suburb West End. They serve a variety of delicious foods for both brunch and dinners. I visited here with some friends. We ordered the avo on toast thinking it would be small. So I added an extra 2 eggs and bacon. It ended up being massive and extremely tasty. I devoured the whole thing and didn t end up needing lunch I was so full. Surprised I actually enjoyed the crispy Kale on it too! Also cappuccino had heaps of chocolate which was amazing

Wonderful local (pun intended) neighbourhood cafe just across the river from CBD in West End. We sat outside on Easter Sunday morning and enjoyed breakfast and great coffee. Mini Easter egg was a nice touch. Lovely team including one who gave recommendations for our walk back. Highly recommend - especially supporting a true local business.

Fantastic food! I came in here with my mate just to see what was up and it was so worth it! Absolutely banging meals, I had the Braised cauliflower with pepita satay sauce, tamarind pickles, bean sprout and herb salad. It was divine! I recommend coming here no matter the day of the week. Service was great too!!!

Me and my friend had the mushroom dish, beautiful, size is fair, you won t be really full after, but everything (mushrooms, toast, pesto, egg) was yummy. That said, we ordered the banana dumpling dish, to share. It was very blend, nothing special about it. Coffee was beautiful and service was great.

very unpleasant experience. They gave us the table in front of the door where we can smell toilet. Even a little boy closed door when he went out and came back but the ladies who serve the food did not close the door whenever they in and out. Also, the serving lady spilt one of coffee, and just went away without giving napkins, of course without sorry. I looked at the web site and was able to book the table in 10mins. ( It was 8:30 and I can actually book for 8:45). I asked to one of staff if I book now for 08:45, can I get the other table. She just went out then came back to us they can move our table. They were PLENTY of EMPTY tables until we left. Also, facial expression of one of staff was sarcastic. We were feeling very very bad. Service wise zero star. Let s move on the food then. Coffee was fantastic, but foodwise? well no comment. I was very hungry after night shift. I gave a star for a coffee. Not recommend here at all except coffee.

Went there for brunch with my girlfriend and it was such a bad experience. I cant believe I even suggested that place. Our meal was undercooked and the coffee we ordered was really bland. Spoke to the manager but they were really disrespectful and refuse to take in our feedback. Definitely wont be returning ever and never ever recommending this to anyone.

had brekky on a cool tuesday and we loved the cozy atmosphere. customer service is top notch and staff were super friendly! we got the chilli scramble with bacon on the side, a brioche breakfast roll and a large mocha. the chilli scramble was delicious. the eggs were scrambled to perfection. the prata served was soft and paired well with the the other elements. we added bacon on the side for this bc it can t go wrong w that. the brioche breakfast roll was nice but pretty average. it is a burger despite being called a roll :/ also would ve preferred if the spinach was cooked and the eggs a lil more runny.

While I was visiting Brisbane I really wanted to go to Lokal + Co and try their breakfast menu. I ordered the Leek and manchego cheese croquettes, grilled chorizo, black garlic, tomato, avocado, poached egg. I did an extra poached egg and sourdough toast as I was really hungry. I got to say that this was one of my favourite breakfasts, it was light and refreshing, and everything on the plate worked. I also would like to say they have an amazing coffee and they are using barista style oat milk which was great. I highly recommend you try this cafe out.

Lovely scandi cafe tucked away a block from the hustle and bustle of West End. Online booking system was seamless. Dogs allowed when seated outside. Patio heaters provided for some relief from this ridiculous winter cold. The food was outstanding and different from the usual cafe affair.

I had a poor experience but didn t feel like complaining as I could see the staff were very busy with lots of booked tables. However when I approached the counter to pay, a staff member (not my waiter, who was kind and the only good part of the morning) was very cold and rude when I said can I pay? - she had her back to me and ushered me to move and just tap my card. I asked for a receipt and she was annoyed about that and didn t give me a receipt, just pushed the iPad toward me. It was not a nice feeling, especially as I didn t know her at all. I disputed a charge I wasn t aware of and was met with hostility. She directed me to barista/supervisor and somehow it was my fault I did not know about an extra charge, not communicated to me (waiter offered butter to my order). I lost my patience and confessed my bad experience which I had been trying not to do (long wait, raw eggs, stale pastry). I understand busy weekends, however please still be respectful to all patrons and cooperative with queries. Such a shame as I used to be a regular here.

Great service. We met the manager and she was super friendly and down to earth. The food is well priced as are the portions. Venue is light and bright with plenty of seating inside and out. We had a slight mishap with the bill, however the counter staff fixed it with no issues at all. Will be back.

Ordered the Mushroom Burger and pork belly burger Both were super delicious - simple yet amazing flavours with the combination of ingredients. Monday morning - super friendly service and lots of smiles. Highly recommend in a well designed venue! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian burgers

Staff is very friendly and provide table service. Great coffee and almond croissants.

Nice setting in a quiet part of the street. Feels like you are somewhere else. The owner is the one preparing the food (a plus plus for me) which is well presented and flavoursome. Menu had half dozen light meals options of good variety. Waitresses were nice, price is reasonable, street parking was easy to find. Happy to go again and again...

Best breakfast I have had in ages, as it was cooked without much fat, so clean and tasty and I love the unusual breakfast menu and the latte was spectacular as well - as the restaurant uses good quality products Parking: It was easy to get a park as it was off the main road

Tried both breakfast and lunch there. Great flavor and great presentation, plenty of tables, warm inside with deck outside. I m also impressed to see they use Loccitane hand wash and hand cream in the bathroom, shows the quality of costumer care! Tho the kitchen is semi open to the dining area, there s no cooking smell at all. I highly recommend this place, for friends and business catchups over quality coffee n food

Wow It s been 8 hours and I m still thinking about the breakfast I had there this morning! I was having my food and I wanted to scream! This is the place to have your brekkie in West End! I finally found you! It took me 378 days but I did and I won t spend my money anywhere else! Service was great and the staff were always around. I was enjoying it so much that I didn t remember what my girlfriend was saying. #kidding

We had breaky here on a rainy Friday and we can recommend! Lovely coffee and juices. The breakfast menu has the usual staple offering but they have a great range of unusual breakfasts too. We loved the eggs with roti and coconut sambal. The potato waffle was yummy and filling. The service and cleanliness was top notch.

The chili scramble eggs with roti was delicious! There were a few things that I wanted to try so I ll be back to sample them. They had a great looking smoothie menu as well. It was busy so it took a little while to get our orders and the table cloth we had on the table was dirty which is why I have taken a star off. They do bookings online which is a bonus!

I ve been twice now. Really enjoyed the coffee & danish the first time. Then on my second visit I had the five spice squid for lunch. It was delicious. Yum. Perfectly cooked. My only criticism Pepsi. But I can get over that.

Maybe good for a quiet weekday- but on a weekday coffee took 40mins food took 60mins. Impossible to order a second drink if you want to leave before 2hrs

Came here for breakfast and it was really good. I got the eggs with mushrooms. I would reccommend this place and want to go back.

The coffee is excellent. Partner had banana dumplings, I had mushrooms, both dishes were perfect. Well presented meals, friendly quick service, very clean and busy atmosphere. Will definitely be coming here for breakfast next time in Brisbane.

D food is so mindfully curated wd such a balance and fresh ingredients tht is plays so well on d palate!! D beetroot pakoras were exceptional and 5 spice squid was so amazingly done.. will be visiting again soon to try d food from d breakfast menu.

Delicious soy moccha. I had the potato waffle and it was lovely but could have done with less cream and more salmon. Its a nice place to catch up. However, if you can, sit outside, it can get quite noisy inside as the smoothies are made behind the bar, in the open space.

Great vibe and the chilli eggs are amazing!

Went for afternoon tea and had almond croissant and the green miracle juice. It was all delicious and I very much enjoyed the juice during a hot summer day. Easy street parking. Waitress there was lovely and friendly. Remember to wear a mask when ordering and to check in.
