Rich & Rare Restaurant in West End

Overall enjoyable experience though quite expensive when all added up and wouldnt consider it value for money at all. The service was good - attentive and professional, and the ambiance was comfortable and relaxed. Steaks were good, well cooked and flavourful. Some of the cocktails were excellent, others average. Wagyu bites (chefs special snack) were majority batter and literally only a few strands of meat that couldnt be tasted at all. Desserts were average, and wouldnt recommend. Ordered panna cotta and creme brulee - not sure if an intentional twist on traditional but they were both warm and the pannacotta was completely unset. Overall I probably wouldnt recommend it for an all-out experience unfortunately.

Horrendous service and food quality. Had a staff member walk away while I was asking a question about a dish. Waited 50 minutes for drinks to arrive with nothing offered. Only decent quantity part of the banquet was a sirloin steak that was so poorly cooked it was Mostly inedible. Only passable part of the meal was the Panna Cotta desert that unfortunately I was unable to eat. Over $400 for 4 people to then need to go and get something else to eat is a joke! Up there with the worst dining experience of my life. Oh, they took one round of drinks off the bill when I made the person at the front counter aware of my displeasure and still charged me $380!

Power Banquet was great value, great food, great service. We ate at 4:45pm before a show. Gluten free options were given or gluten items put on the side. Red wine superb. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bread given roll which was soft and plenty. I m not a celiac so was fine for me to have the fries and the crumbs on the side for the scollops.

Got the power banquet Food Pros -oysters -cured meat -sour dough -desert Food cons -scallops were hard and over cooked -Lettus wasnt pre cut -steak very disappointing, asked for med rare came out small Gray med well, sent it back came out after rare, Gray, bland and very fatty. They offered a free desert and appoligise that was lovely. Service was flawless.. Tibet was amazing,!! Accommodating and ontop of everything. Over all. I probably wouldnt say it is worth the money, I did have higher expectations. But the service and vibe is great for cocktail night.

Maximiliaan was our wait staff member. He was professional, courteous, knowledgeable about the food and drinks menu and attentive. The atmosphere is great. This is not a steak place although fine, aged, wagyu and wood fired beef is their specially. This is fine dining quality all the way and the wagyu was perfecrly cooked and a religious experience to enjoy. The signature cocktails are innovative and delicious. Not inexpensive but no more expensive than you would expect for the quality. All in all a fantastic experience.

Had a wonderful lunch yesterday with a mate at Rich & Rare. The Scotch Fillet was just perfect; the best steak i have had in an age! Plus the service was friendly and efficient. Well definitely be going back again.

Outstanding service by Vinny. We were made to feel special and enjoyed the superb food and presentation. The wines were also wonderful. It was pretty noisy inside.

Visited on a busy Saturday night for dinner with friends. Our server, a gent with a South American accent, made our night. He was friendly, courteous and offered succinct advice where needed. Shouts to him. For entrees we ordered ciabatta, marinated olives, camembert and oysters. I didnt have the oysters but others said they were spot on. The camembert was very good. For main, I ordered the 250g wagyu rump cap (medium well). It was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed every bite. Others ordered Chefs Secret (I tasted some, very good!), wagyu tomahawk and market fish (swordfish in this instance). Everybody raved about their choice. Most people had kipfler potatoes or green beans as a side. The beans were nice. The potatoes were ok but nothing out of the ordinary. I had creme brulee for dessert. Fairly standard and didnt hit the high notes the main meals did, but whatever. Genuinely one of the best dinners Ive had in a long long time. 10/10, would return. Giving this rating due to service and standard of meals. If I had to be picky about anything, the shared bathrooms are a bit weird for a high end venue.

Food was absolutely incredible. The tomahawk was cooked to perfection. Finn was our waiter and he was incredible, no only did he check on us a perfect amount of times, he was very professional and a top bloke! Finn also had GREAT recommendations for the entrees- Baked Camembert with Bread and the Beef Takati. Definitely will be visiting again.

Great wine list and good beers. For the food, I recommend sticking to the steaks and the sides. They are this restaurants forte and the best option to get a really good meal. Food

We had a group dinner here with our friends. The place was great as well as the service but what took us with great shock was our bill. They were serving us of what we thought was tap water until we saw it in the bill that they have charged each one of us including the children but not once where we were ask about it. Also, the service fee here is astounding. We ve been to a couple of fancy dining restaurants, even fancier but never charged this high. So for those planning to try this place, i d say to be aware of the prices coz you will probably end up with 30%-40% higher bill than what you expect. Overall it was a good experience but I d probably won t try it here again.

Tibet was a wonderful waiter. He was very funny and nice and could carry lots of plates at once which was cool. We had lots of good laughs and he really made our experience really enjoyable. The food was good too.

This restaurant provided a lovely setting to celebrate my partner s birthday, especially as they are a steak lover. However, my experience fell short of expectations. I ordered a medium-well sirloin, but it was served very rare. As I wasn t particularly hungry, I chose not to mention it to the waiter at the time, but I believe a nearly untouched plate might have warranted a follow-up from the staff to ensure everything was satisfactory. As a steak restaurant, I would have expected doneness to be a point of mastery, but unfortunately, this was a significant miss for me. Given the premium pricing and reputation, I left feeling underwhelmed. While it was a memorable evening for my partner, I ll likely be returning to MooMoo for future special occasions as my preferred steak restaurant in Brisbane.

Yesterday we were having dinner here for my birthday, our waiter was Mr. Tony, always very attentive, friendly and willing to help with any questions we had about the menu. The food was very good, we tried the 9-Course banquet, very good and complete, we loved it and we will surely be returning to try other dishes on the menu! 100% recommended.

We had an amazing lunch and a couple of delicious cocktails. Very classy and the staff made us feel like VIP, will definitely be back Parking: Parking was under the village shopping centre. Unfortunately they changed for over 2 hours after a relaxing and amazing lunch that just went over the 2 hours once we checked out all their other shops. No ticket given so no chance to validate

Absolutely amazing food, service and atmosphere. Full marks, I would highly recommend to all.

We arrived before 5:30pm for the Power Banquet for $54. We had been given a gift voucher as a birthday present for my husband a couple of months earlier. Everything was delicious. My favourite dishes were the scallops, the Barra, the steak and the lettuce (OMG). The courses came along at a good pace and we were easily out within 2 hours. Max, our waiter and my husband s namesake looked after us superbly and attentively even down to bringing out the dessert with happy birthday and a sparkler! The venue is easy to access and at 5:30pm it was quiet. By 6:30pm it was obvious how much people have taken to Rich and Rare as it was nearly full. We will be back and will be thoroughly recommending it to our friends. Michael Tassis you have another successful restaurant. Bravo! Parking: Under the West Village - 2 hours free.

Maximo was by far the best waiter I ve ever had at a restaurant. Any owner would be lucky to have him part of their team representing their company.

Fine dining, at its best. Im not usually one for gourmet food, but this was outstanding. Flavour in every bite, presentation made you want to stop and admire, selection for everyones tastes and service that engaged. There are too few places Id recommend and want to visit again, but this is one.

10/10 experience for food, atmosphere and customer service. We had the Rich and Rare Experience banquet, and it was worth cent, so much value for money. We love going to large course meals and for $180 you get so much out of it! The customer service from the whole team was amazing and our waiter Max was sooooo lovely and helpful! We were celebrating our engagement for dinner and they made it really special through out the night. Would highly recommend to anyone and will definitely be coming back. The steak tartare is to die for and the bone marrow mash. We loved every part of the meal, even the bread and butter was top tier!! Thank you! Today, I had a dinner date with my boyfriend. Rich and Rare has always been one of the places on our list to try. We d been waiting for a special occasion, and today, our anniversary, was the perfect time. A huge thanks to Rich and Rare for giving us such a lovely evening. Every dish was spot on, especially the wagyu tataki, scallops, and Angus steak, which really blew us away. A special mention to our waiter, Benji. He was so attentive to every diner, quick to pick up on little cues, and gave us top-notch table service. He really made our dinner experience even better. Thanks to all the staff at Rich and Rare for giving us incredible dining experience! Btw it would be great if the steak could be served on a darker plate looks better in photos, hahaha!

We specifically searched for a good steakhouse on Google. And found! We reserved online, a bit complicated, you also have to pay 20 AUD in advance by credit card for the reservation. If you dont show up for the reserved appointment, AUD 20 will be deducted from the credit card. In any case, we had a great place, sensational service!!! with advice on the various steaks. The octopus to share as a starter is a dream The Wagyu (200 g flank) was very tasty, I chose it based on our waiters recommendation and was thrilled! The only thing I didnt like was the leaf lettuce. The olive oil used had a very dominant taste and vinegar/acid was completely missing. The fries and the Bernaise sauce were perfect. With my husbands steak, also Wagyu, the beans were very firm to the bite, but the potatoes were generous in quantity and tasted good R&R is definitely recommended

I picked this restaurant out of the hat for my birthday celebration and it didn t let me down at all!! I think this has become one of my favourite restaurants in Brisbane now! The food, absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! The service, outstanding from our lovely waiter Max, who went out and beyond to accomodate out needs and requests. I got a happy bday dessert from the house which was very special too! If you want a special night out with delicious dinner, this is THE PLACE!! Kid-friendliness: They provided colours and sketch for kids to draw.

The service attitude was particularly poor. I ordered a power Banquet, but the salad didnt serve. When I informed the waiter while they try to clearing the plates, the waiter said, Do you want me to serve the salad STILL! Of course, I paid for the Banquet. As his attitude, he probably doesnt want to serve the salad, he didnt feel sorry, he takes it for granted. The service attitude is particularly bad. I ordered a set meal but the salad was not served. I informed him when the plates were collected at the service station. The waiter said: Do you want me to serve salad? Of course, I paid for the package, don t I want to join it?

Food was amazing ! We got 2 x 200g fillet steaks( rare), with the potatoes (drizzled with some sort of basil oil), mac and cheese, green beans and peppercorn sauce. Everything was really really nice! Service was great! Waiter was very nice and attentive. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for any occasion or just like us if you want a really GREAT and steak and sides !

Absolutely loved it! Best value banquet lunch in town. Had the Power Banquet and could not be happier. Everything from the bread to the barra, the steak and sauce, scallop, iceberg lettuce, even the chips, everything was divine! We all ordered the same and had the steak medium, which I loved! Some of the others on the table thought it wouldve been better slightly less done but I thought it was perfect. The service and vibes were 10/10! Checked with us on food allergies and made sure it was on point. Cant believe we hadnt tried this place earlier.

Went there for a corporate lunch meeting and tried the power banquet. I must say I wasnt able to fault the food, so top marks to the chef! Service was good and we were attended to and seated in no time! The ambience was good - new and modern surroundings nestled amongst the West End Village gardens! This was my second visit to Rich and Rare, and both experiences have been outstanding. I can confidently say it s one of the best restaurants in Brisbane! Our meal was wonderful from start to finish. The highlight was Chef Kadu s expertise with wagyu beef the wagyu flat iron just melted in your mouth, super tender and juicy on the inside with a light, flavorful crust on the outside (simply sensational). The Piamontese rice was another standout of the night, incredibly delicious Each dish was perfectly prepared, really bringing out the flavors. The service was also fantastic, especially from one of the managers who made us feel so welcome. I highly recommend Rich and Rare, especially if you re a wagyu lover. I ll definitely be back!

What an extraordinary experience it was at Rich & Rare. We were four women for a long, lazy lunch, enjoying a nine-course power banquet, which is a fantastic way to taste test the menu. As most have expressed, the oysters and scallops were fresh and truly delightful. The Barramundi in a foamed miso butter bed with pickled kohlrabi topped with Tobiko was a stand out for me. The steak, joyous little nuggets of smoky goodness. Oddly I was most excited about the lettuce it did not disappoint, who knew the humble iceberg could be such a cornerstone of a meal. An outstanding wine list served us well. The meal felt extravagant but the portions were perfect for us, there s nothing worse than enjoying a meal and then regretting it later, feeling you ve overindulged. Will be back.

The atmosphere was pretty good but the steak and sides were kinda mid. The steak was cooked medium rare but the quality of the steak wasn t worth the money. Bone Marrow mash was the same, the concept is great but the execution wasn t done that well. Bone Marrow mash didn t really give the impact I was expecting. Steak Tartare, tasted warm and a bit sour. There wasn t any other taste to it. The chips weren t crisp, felt like they were left on the warmer for too long before being served to us

Well rounded selection of wines by the glass and bottle. Buzzy vibe with decor highlights of leafy garden, dark woods, muted greens, stone, concrete, gleaming metals. Thanks for a fun night! Tried the Power Banquet with some friends and loved it. Service was amazing and food was nice. We ended up paying about $100 per head. There s a surcharge for the banquet on the weekend, which is fine. But note that they had also applied the surcharge to all of our drinks, which I found a bit odd. Still, it was a nice night out.

I went with my hubby to spoil him for his birthday, we decided to go for the $54 banquet and it was amazing! My hairdresser recommended the place so I decided to bring my hubby and enjoy. We booked a late lunch to have a relaxed Saturday! The lunch started with: Oysters as Entree, ciabatta warm bread and jamón Serrano, the steak (wonderful!) with a mushroom sauce and a beautiful lettuce with a nice dressing and parmensan cheese. Then a piece a barramundi... we accompanied the lunch with a gin a tonic for my hubby and a Cavernet Savignon from WA (loved it) for me. To finalise the dessert, profiteroles! Filled with a beautiful chocolate cream, when the dessert arrived was almost 4pm so we decided to have our desserts with a coffee. Perfect lunch! Then siesta!

We had our work function. Everything from food to the service were top quality. Rather than finding equal value, they upgraded our food n drink menu when they had to replace items. I personally tried their a la carte menus a month ago and they are amazing too. It s going to be our go to restaurant. Thank you. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend the power banquet for a few friends! Theyll just keep on bringing you delicious food. The oysters were so fresh. The barramundi was crispy skinned and flaky. Steak was juicy. Do yourself a favour and get a delicious bargain

I paid 55 dollars for a small piece of snapper (Market Fish) that didnt taste fresh and the size didnt justify the price. Atmosphere is the only plus here. Come here just for drinks but skip the food.

We had the best dining experience at R&R last Saturday for lunch! Banquet for 4 of us was absolutely amazing. Our waiter was exceptional, and made our day complete. You must try R&R the steak is 5 star.

Extremely disappointing. Had the R&R Experience and it was shocking. Almost inedible. Salty, chewy meat, woolies packet salad, frozen cheesecake. The service was appalling.. the waitress had no idea.. we had to constantly coach her on what was included with the R&R Experience menu. Wines were forgotten etc. We spent over $400 for two people and felt sick paying. If you re going to have your B team on Tuesdays, maybe charge you B prices as well. Won t be back. Hold the copy and paste generic response.

5 stars, without hesitation. We started with a tangy, flavourful tartar. Devine. For mains, we moved on to the dry aged sirloin, drizzled with rich, salty jus. Incredible. On the side - creamy mash with smokey bone marrow and a refreshing lettuce salad. Delicious. Finally -The best whiskey sour I have ever had the fortune to enjoy. Wonderful. Our thanks to Rich and Rare for having us for lunch and thankyou to Vinny for your excellent service. Cant wait to come back for dinner

It was alright, but I don t believe the cut of steak I got was worth $50 but I believe the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant is what made it very nice

We had an incredible experience at Rich & Rare West End this evening, we were running a bit late to our booking and the staff were super accomodating even putting a rush on our orders as we had an event to get to after our meal! The food was incredible, steak cooked to perfection and the side of chips we got were the star of the show, especially the dipping sauce they come with, highly recommend! The low lighting for evening bookings makes it incredibly vibey & the staff are wonderful at making recommendations and providing insight with the menu, thank you for making our experience so easy & seamless!

Absolutely delicious food! Steaks were exceptional. Would highly recommend the bone marrow mash. Staff were lovely and provided great service but they were very fond of the upsell, which was a bit annoying. Beware if you cant hold your own / are a sucker for peer pressure. Will definitely go back.

W e recently dined at Rich & Rare Restaurant and opted for the famous banquet, priced at $54 per person, with a 10% surcharge on Saturdays (excluding drinks). On the staff s recommendation, we also added the beef tataki, which featured incredible wagyu with truffle ponzu an excellent choice. Every dish in the banquet was delightful, especially the mains: the barramundi and sirloin steak were outstanding, and the oysters and scallops were equally impressive. The only slight letdown was the dessert, which was quite average, but still acceptable considering the overall value. What truly set this experience apart was the exceptional service. The staff were attentive, ensuring that our table was cleaned between each course, which is a detail even some higher-end restaurants overlook. Overall, I highly recommend Rich & Rare Restaurant for a satisfying dining experience with superb service. This version maintains the key details while providing a polished, cohesive review.
