The Burrow in West End

Idk if its a West end thing but hella cramped. The restaurant overall was pretty cute. The food was a bit bland but it was okay. I think definitely an awakening on dealing with people sitting in my seat or having their ass in my face while I ate. Im not used to it but the service was okay. Probably wont be back though, it was hella hot also. I think a different time would be a completely different experience. Please dont take my experience as an overall assumption of this restaurant.

The food was good, and the ambiance was comfortable. My family and I enjoyed the casual vibe, and the staff were polite. There was a slight delay in service, but it wasn t too much of an issue for us. The prices were fair, and the portion sizes matched expectations. A decent place for a relaxed meal.

We are disappointed that The Burrow is not what it used to be :( Our table was not cleaned even after we asked for it to be cleaned - so it was sticky and gross, and we had to pile up the old used plates from the previous customers! The server forgot to give us our drink that we ordered - so we had to re-order. The burgers were actually missing some of the ingredients that were listed on the menu - so it did not taste as good. Will not be returning.

Awesome food, friendly staff and good vibes. Its a local neighborhood establishment and owner(s)/staff are super accommodating as well. I walked into this amazing eclectic pub as a little bit of a departure from my food journey. I was stunned by the atmosphere, it felt like walking into a friends house after a fair few pints. Greeted by friendly barkeeps and vibrant colours, chalk art, and a classic Queensland attitude I think this may just be my favourite pub of all time Signed The Laman

Relaxed, friendly and comfortable. Coffees, beers on tap, dog friendly, delicious menu and loads of other things to explore and enjoy. Five stars for a reason.

Literally my favourite venue in the whole state. Bad Mother-Funghi is the sexiest pizza I ve ever had the pleasure of shoving in my mouth. Brenna was absolutely delightful and is an absolute asset to the company !!

Its nestled right at the core of West End and whill its a bit expensive, it is 100% worth it. Music nights are always lit which is good for you because theyre basically every night of the week. Im looking forward to taking my folks here when they visit.

Hip, happening, funky place. Food was tops, staff lovely, decor awesome, great vibes. While we were there a group sitting opposite us broke out the banjos and fiddles and started singing... A bit later a guy walked through with a double bass and joined them. Seemed not a bit out of place, completely natural. Too cool for school, highly recommend. Best spot in West End!

Great place with a relaxed environment, good food and very nice staff with lots of live music of all time located in a nice corner of one of the most vivid suburbs of brisbane.

Great food. I like the screen door burger, and have also had great experiences with many other menu items. The bar is constantly rotating tap stock and there are always interesting and unique things to try, not to mention a wide variety of beers/ales available in cans. There are regular live music nights every weekend (it might be as regular as every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, but Im not 100% sure). If you want to see the creative and bohemian population of brisbane, The Burrow is about as close to a centre of it as you can get.

Should definitely be ranked higher. Amazing environment for very good food at low price. They also serve their own beer that was really good and they have rotating local beers on tap. Definitely a very chill place and would recommend 100%.

NOT SAFE FOR WOMEN, QUEER PPL AND POC!! This place is disgusting, one of their bartenders, who we weren t aware worked there, recognised us and was worried we would alert his coworkers to his history of abusing his position to serve alcohol to women (which he has been fired for in the past). We were denied water, kicked out without explanation, and followed down the street by a manager. Since then, we have spent months trying to get in contact with the owners/managers via various avenues only to be met with complete silence. After hearing nothing, we went back to see if our situation had been addressed, only to have been kicked out again. I have never felt more unsafe and targeted simply for being a woman - this behaviour is unacceptable in 2024.

We werent sure at first, but we were really impressed with both the salads we ordered (Love Birds and Pear and Nuts). We would definitely return if if eating in the West End again.

Flavoursome Pizza!! Awesome

Super freindly cosy hang out. Pizzas, food and beer. Its like hanging out in someones house. Fellow clientele are eclectic. Laid back folk, all ages, lots of quirky individuals, super chill. Staff are fantastic, really good hosts, happy and chatty. There was a small jazz band, not too loud and really added to the atmosphere. Lots more pros, really cant think of anything wrong here, really cool place.

It was busy, we didnt get a chance to purchase anything, but wed just eaten down the road and wanted to listen to live music. They had an awesome singer Messy? Beautiful jazzy style trios. Burrow had a few board games, could do with some more, basic connect 4, uno, and simpler ones, nonetheless appreciative. Its a rustic hip, happening, unsuperficial 70s vibe. Lots of young people enjoying themselves. Loved the mismatch furnitures, laid back and vibrant plants in the back area.

Food was really good until this worker decided it was a good idea to light up his cigarette right out the front and blow it towards the restaurant, why would you not actually use your brain and be considerate about other people and move away like 10 metres instead of forcing everyone to smell your disgusting smoke while they try to eat their food

Vegan burger was 10/10. Busy spot with live music. The berry soda was bland but food was very delicious. Very much enjoyed it.

This spot is so cute and quirky - the staff are too! I cant count how many times Ive had the sister from another mister pizza, but I can tell you its incredible, even if youre not vegan.

Hello, I know most of the cafés here in the Westend and most of them are really good. Burrows is definitely one of them. The cafe/bar/restorant is right around the corner from Boundary Street and is a cool place. There is enough space on 2 floors and you can choose between coffee and cake or a snack and beer. There are 2 large indoor areas and a nice little outdoor area. You also have a nice view through a large panoramic window. The ambience is great, as is the staff. The selection of snacks and drinks is also good and the prices are absolutely ok. Every day from the afternoon onwards it is often difficult to find a good spot here. Especially on the weekends it is very busy here until the evening. Absolutely recommend Burrows.

Came in earlier tonight drinks are good, food wasnt as expected. Wouldnt recommend the pizzas, our dough was undercooked and there was a unnecessary amount of rocket on it. you couldnt even see what you were really paying for i thought I was given the wrong meal. The menu has multiple ingredients next to items, its not as simple as other bars i have been too. When I go to get drinks from a pub I would expect a simple menu for food. The place needs a simple menu and better communication with the pizzas that are being sent out. The meal I received had no effort or love put into it which is honestly upsetting.

Sadly this place is one to avoid - antisemitic! Some of the posts or quotes on the walls are disgusting! Promoting violence and hate!

I have been to The Burrow many times for a drink but never for food. I never realised how good the food options were! I opted for the Levantine as suggested by a friend. This dish was filled with haloumi, baba ganoush, grilled flatbread and fried cauliflower. It was absolutely delicious and filling. An awesome vibe as always and some tasty drinks on tap.

Best place at West End. One of the few remaining character cafes at West End. Provides the range of food and beverages one expects. However, this is an authentic place with great vibes. The atmosphere is boho and does not need to resort to Tres Chic. The decoration displays the past news has engaged people in intellectual conversation with the freedom to express differing points of view. The true freedom is to have robust conversations and disagreement at a gathering place.

The burger was delicious and the Burrow beer was delicious too! The atmosphere is great too! However, the outdoor table was a little dirty. If you wish to eat food, please do so inside the restaurant. It was such a nice place. I had a good time. :)

Every state has a pub similar to the Burrow. It reminds me of hangover foods after long nights at the local. Its a great place to go to to get that Westend community environment feel. The staff are great, the service I cannot fault, and the food is what you would expect at place like this. Its not the 5 star wanky pub, food with a leaf, sauce made into art around the rim of the plate....no, thus is the good old fashion chips, burgers and pizza. The food you need when you just wanna sit back have a drink, people watch and have a good chat with your mates. There is no other place like this in Brisbane. If its not already an icon, it should be. Reminds me of good old Melbourne when the Tote was in Collingwood and the Espy was a place to play pool and hang out...before gentrification and avocado on toast.
